The story of the flood is a
well-known story in the Bible.

A lot of people understand
or know or heard of the story

of Noah's ark and it's
actually in different cultures

and religions this
idea of a worldwide flood.

What a lot of people
don't know about the flood

that the Bible
teaches is that the animals
00:03:38.55\00:03:41.55
did not go into
the ark two by two.
00:03:41.56\00:03:45.28
Now most of the stories
that I've heard of Noah's ark
00:03:45.29\00:03:48.60
whether they are
children story in church,
00:03:48.61\00:03:51.62
whether that's an illustration
on some board or in,
00:03:51.63\00:03:54.82
in some kind of
program, most of those stories
00:03:54.83\00:03:59.67
show the animals,
all of the animals

going into the ark two by two.

And so that is the
normal understanding that people

have of the story of Noah's ark.

something that's really

interesting, really significant.

Verse two, "Of every clean beast

thou shalt take
to thee by sevens,

male and his
female, and of the beasts

that are not clean by
two, the male and his female."

Okay, did you
know that when Noah

was called to build
an ark, when the animals

were to be
brought into that ark,

that the clean animals
were to go in seven by seven

and the unclean by twos.

In other words, it
was not all the animals

that went in the ark by two.

It is only the unclean animals

that went into the ark by two.

take clean animals

and those that can be eaten.

Now of course, they pulled
out of that, you know, danger,

but the point is
that if you--imagine

if you only had two animals

one was a male,
one was a female,

and there was just two.

Well, would you let anyone shoot

one of those animals and,
and have them for supper? No.

anyone would do that.

another interesting point

here in the story of Genesis

and now we're on the story
of, of meat eating and when God

allowed us to eat meat,
there's two other points here,

one has to do
with the age difference

between those who lived

before the flood and
those who lived after.

After the
flood--before the flood,

I should say, men
lived for hundreds of years,

700, 800, 900 years.

After the flood, the lifespan
of man dropped drastically.

And, of course,
science today tells us that

the food that we eat
has a tremendous impact

on our health and our longevity.

They say that
Seventh-Day Adventists

in the National Geographic
that they live, the blue zone,
00:07:18.50\00:07:21.48
this whole study about
Seventh-Day Adventists live

an average 10 years longer
than the rest of the world
00:07:23.85\00:07:27.50
simply because of their
diet and their health practices.
00:07:27.51\00:07:30.58
And so in Genesis Chapter
9, God actually gets specific
00:07:30.59\00:07:33.35
not only about the food
that He wants His people eat,
00:07:33.36\00:07:37.50
but how they should eat it.

And He says here
in Genesis Chapter 9,
00:07:38.80\00:07:41.32
and we're just gonna
look here in verse 3,

"Every moving thing that
lives shall be meat for you."

This is what Debbie brought out.

"Even as the green herb I
have given you all things.

But the flesh
with the life thereof,

which is the blood

God allowed us to eat meat,

And today's science tells
us, it's the blood and the fat.

"don't eat the
blood, don't eat the fat."

If we were to
follow God's counsel

not only we would be healthier

but we wouldn't even
eat--you know McDonald's.

We would be
eating hardly anywhere

because, because most
meat has the blood in it.

Because the blood is
what gives it that flavor

that people get
hooked on and really like.

who's raised eating meat.

thought was that there was meat.

first thought about the idea

of being a vegetarian I
thought what would I eat?

imagine what it would be like

to eat meat because I
just love the vegetarian diet

so good following the counsel

given us in His word.

is pretty consistent

the Old Testament story

are fish that God

the environment clean.

We drive down New

and we live out of the country,

and sometimes
unfortunately a raccoon

may get run over
or some kind of animal

may get hit by a car.

And frequently the vultures

sanitation department

So the Lord when you
look at the dietary principles

not only was God right on tap

to put in our bodies,

that these principles

Our digestive
system wasn't redesigned

this is post-ascension and
Peter as an apostle of Christ
