does it mean when Daniel says,

knowledge shall increase,

is this the
knowledge of prophecy

or the man's modern inventions?

Well, that's a
very good question,

and really the text that
he's referring is found in

Daniel chapter 12 verse
4 so I'd like to read that.

Because it helps us to
clarify.... the answer to that.

Okay. And notice
what Daniel was told,

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up
the words, and seal the book,

even to the time of the
end: many shall run to and fro,

and knowledge
shall be increased."

So, as we examine this
question and we look at the

verses before and after.
And even that particular verse

of Daniel chapter 12 verse
4, we see that Daniel was told

to shut up the
words, in other words...

the words about the prophesies
that Daniel was writing,

that's right, writing down.
Because Daniel wanted to know,

what does it mean?
Give me more information

and since the prophesy
deal with God's people,

he wanted to
know. But he was told,

shut up the
words and seal the book

even to the time of the end.

But there's
hope because he says,

at the time of the end
knowledge shall be increased.

And this is more of knowledge
concerning God's words,

concerning the prophesies
that is outlined here.

Yes, of course, it's you can
also say that knowledge shall

increase according to
man's inventions but it's more

reference to
knowledge of the scriptures,

knowledge of the
prophesies that this particular

verse is referring to as
we see from the verse itself.

But you know, the Bible
also goes on to point out that,

there was an Age Of
Ignorance, yes, and you know,

when we talk about
the Age Of Ignorance,

we are talking about, there was
a time when what we know today,

people did not know.
And that not only applies to

inventions like computers,
and cell phones, and laptops and

we have phrases
nowadays that didn't even exist,

like a phrase
wireless device. Yes.

And there was
nothing that existed maybe,

let's say 20 years
ago that could operate
00:06:35.27\00:06:36.92
wireless
devices unless you know,
00:06:36.93\00:06:38.56
you had transmitters and
basic things like antennas.
00:06:38.57\00:06:41.19
But very few people
had a wireless device
00:06:41.67\00:06:44.12
in their pocket, or a wireless
device in their briefcase,
00:06:44.13\00:06:47.10
or a wireless
device in their hands.
00:06:47.39\00:06:49.15
And so when the
Bible talks about

the knowledge will increase.
Yes, there are inventions
00:06:50.60\00:06:53.96
that exist in our world
today that we just didn't have.

But what it really
means is, matter of fact,
00:06:56.95\00:06:58.94

Acts chapter 3 and
verse 17. Let's look at that,

Acts chapter 3 and verse 17,
I wanna share a text with you

because what we know now really
surpasses the ages gone by,

but it also removes
from us the idea that, well,

I just don't know
anymore. We don't live in an age

say, well, I just don't know.

Because the Lord has
revealed so much in His word,

Acts chapter 3 and
verse 17, we can read that.

And the Bible says,
speaking about, let me see,

is that the one I'm
talking now Acts 17 verse 30,

that one talks
about, Acts 17 verse 30,

that where I'm
friends, so you just follow me.

Well, we will get
you there, and it says,

"And times of this
ignorance of God winked at;

but now commandeth all men
every where to repent." Amen.

So there was a
time friends when,

now really people didn't know,
it was like to go more than

30 miles an
hour, matter of fact,

I read once in a
history book where...

Actually it was a book
about inventions where people
00:08:08.26\00:08:10.66
at one time thought, if we
went beyond a certain speed,

you wouldn't be able to live
because you couldn't breathe

and the air will be
coming at you so fast.
00:08:15.55\00:08:17.48
And so but now, we could
see that we can travel at
00:08:18.37\00:08:21.35
tremendous speeds, but
the text is saying there was a
00:08:21.63\00:08:24.46
time that men didn't
understand all that there is to
00:08:24.47\00:08:27.00
know about the word
of God. That's right.
00:08:27.01\00:08:28.65
And at those times God
winked at, in other words,
00:08:29.04\00:08:31.71
he didn't close His eyes but
he, okay, well, they don't know.
00:08:32.13\00:08:34.81
So, they act in ignorance.
But what about the times

in which we live now?
Well, in the times that we
00:08:37.05\00:08:38.96
live in now even
as we speak right now,

there are people that....
may have very little knowledge

concerning the
scriptures and even this program

can be a
blessing to them because,

they can gain
understanding about God's word

from this particular program
itself as we study God's word.

So even, a combination thereof,

the study and the searching
out of the scriptures here

and a combination of technology
is making knowledge increase.

You know, I was just...
just thinking as you were

saying that knowledge increasing
these wireless devices,

you know, you may
take what you would call

a little radio with a little
battery and take it to some

remote tribe even in the
jungles of Peru or Brazil

or even in
Africa somewhere where

they have never
seen anything like this.

And, you suddenly turn
this on and they see sound

coming out of this
little box, they...

that to them it wasmind-boggling
how that could possibly be?

You know, that would
cause somebody to be concerned,

we could
frighten people actually

sometimes with our technology.
But you know friends,

what the Bible is
essence saying here,

is not so much
about just technology

but the Bible in
essence is saying here,

"we are no longer living
in an age of ignorance." Amen.

In John chapter 16, if
you have Bibles turn there.

You know, even
this here that we have,

we are asking people
to turn in their Bibles,

in the times when
Daniel was writing,

there were scrolls, and
now we have the printed page

that can go just about
everywhere like the leaves of
00:10:07.11\00:10:08.98
autumn as we
often say here on 3ABN.

The printed page
can go everywhere,

and so knowledge can
increase in that way as well.

You know, that's a good
point because in Revelation 1,

when the Lord says,
"Blessed is he that reads,

and those that hear
and those that keep."

The Blessing came
to the reader because

people didn't
have their own Bibles.

So He unrolled the
scroll like a declaration

and read to the
multitude that listened.

Blessed is he that reads,
he had the privilege of reading

from the word of God the
things that people didn't have.

Amen. And the other
blessing came to those

who were listening,
those who were assembled

to hear the word of
God. But the greater blessing

came not just to the reader
and to the hearer but to those

who kept the
things that were heard

and those things that were read.

So, you know, we're
fortunate to have Bibles,

we can walk into
any store nowadays,

and buy any,
almost any translation.

And friends, I'm sure that
it maybe even in your home,

you have a number of
different Bible translations.

But so the Lord
is in essence saying,

you'll be judged
based on what you can know,

not just based on what you
have known but what you are

able to find out like a
student going to school.

Here's another one
John 16 and verse 12,
00:11:14.18\00:11:16.59
Jesus pointed
out even in His day,
00:11:16.60\00:11:18.74
there were things that He
wanted to tell the disciples
00:11:19.13\00:11:21.65
but He said you can't handle
them right now. That's right.
00:11:21.66\00:11:24.76
Notice what it says,
John 16 verse 12, Jesus says,
00:11:24.86\00:11:28.16
"I still have many
things to say to you,
00:11:28.64\00:11:30.71
but you cannot bear them now."
So, that was something that
00:11:30.72\00:11:35.94
in Daniel's day, when Daniel
prayed for wisdom about the
00:11:36.21\00:11:39.13
vision he had, the Lord didn't
give him the understanding,

he says, Daniel all you need
to know is you're greatly loved,
00:11:41.72\00:11:44.48
shut it up until
the time of the end.

Here the Lord says, I
want to tell you more things

but right now you cannot bear
them, you can't handle them,

so he concealed
them from the disciples.

verse, one of my favorites,

I mean I have many favorites
but this is one of my favorites

from Jeremiah 33:3 which helps
us also in this question here

and it says, "Call unto
me and I will answer thee

and show the great and mighty
things which thou knows us not."

So, we've the
almighty God inviting us

to call on Him and
He's willing to show us

things that we do not know.

friends, when people say,

what does it mean
knowledge shall increase?

Knowledge has increased
and exponentially, you know,

and that's the part of
our whole life nowadays.

But knowledge is increasing
so rapidly that we cannot say

anymore that we don't know.
But there is a caution here,

because knowledge just
like a balloon, Johnny,

is going to get to a certain
point then it's going to just

no longer available.
Yes. And somebody may say,

well, what do you mean
no longer be available?

to the book of Amos.

Daniel, Hosea, Joel,

And Amos chapter 8 and verse 12,
I want to show you this text,

very important
because if we take for granted

the knowledge we
have today and ignore it,

there's going be a time
coming when that knowledge

will no longer be
made available to us.

Matter of fact, like a person in
the desert that's seeking water,

there's gonna be a day
where people are gonna be

looking for knowledge
and won't be able to find it.

Why don't you read

Amos chapter 8 and
verse 11 and verse 12.

"Behold, the days
come, saith the Lord God,

Did you notice certain phrase
that you read in Daniel, yes,

that you run to and
fro. So when it says running

to and fro, men are
busying themselves right now.

And in the
midst of that busying,

I believe the
text is saying they are

ignoring the
most important thing.

And all of a sudden,
the day is going to come

when they are going to
say, hey, the times in which we
00:14:05.27\00:14:07.59
live demand to know what
God's word has said to us,

and will no
longer be made available.

Yes, that now is the
time. Now is the time.

And it's even
late now, you know,

I think the time will
come when many will have wished

that they had
read the scriptures

and familiarized themselves
with the Bible, and they didn't.

I know of situations in people

where they wished they had
studied more of the scriptures.

And now they find
themselves in situations

where they...they're lamenting,
right, you know their condition.

This is like, it's like
waiting to the last two days

in high school at the
end of the year to cramp

for your final exam but
you played around all year long
