Well, you know, John,
sometimes we get these questions

that don't really
have a thus saith the Lord.

So we have to do the best
we can to answer a question,

sometimes difficult questions
and this is one of those.

And you know, the
English is a little difficult.

This says,

what happens in regard to
babies at the resurrection?

When Jesus comes, are they saved

by the faith of their parents?

As the Bible says that
our parents will not change,

but only our mortal being
will turn into the immortal

and will babies
remain as babies.

So a lot of concern
here and this makes sense,

because I know
parents out there,

they are very
concerned about their loved ones

and many of them
probably have had children

that have died way to early
in life and want to be sure

that those children
have an opportunity to live

in the kingdom above as well.

And so these are
where you have to put

a lot of pieces together.

What is the
character of God and His mercy,

and what can we
reasonably expect

with regard to
babies at the resurrection?

And here is some of the
conclusions that I have,

you know, God
says, that He is going to

or that all who
within this earthly community
00:03:42.94\00:03:50.58
called human kind.

All of us will appear before
the Judgment Seat of Christ.

And the reason we
appears because we must receive

our reward for the things
that we have done. That's right.

Question is with
babies, they really never really
00:04:03.26\00:04:05.57
had a chance to do anything yet.

You know, they're,
they basically got up

a one-track mind which
is, give me something to eat.

And you put them to
sleep, and few other things

you have to take care with
babies, but that's about it.

And so the
question is, you know,
00:04:20.47\00:04:21.99
when they are
raised in the judgment,

how does God view them?

And I would find it
very difficult that a God

who is a God of love
would judge them for sins

that they don't even
realize or aren't even

accountable to
realize they're committing.

Now we recognize
we're born sinful flesh.

So we are on death
row, the moment we are born.

But I do know also that
the Lord is gracious enough

to give us all an
opportunity to make decisions

for or against His son Christ.

And so knowing His character,

knowing that He
wants everybody to have

that opportunity to be
saved, it wouldn't surprise me

at all and I believe in
my heart that babies will

absolutely be
in the resurrection

and have their
opportunity from that point on

and whether it would be,
because of the parents faith

that they're
putting the parent's hands

who then entered
the kingdom, however,

you know, God
seems fit to do that,

we aren't told in
scripture, but I do see God,

a loving God and one that
would be merciful in that way.

So I expect to see babies there.

Well, I would chiming on
that and I would build on

the fact that we
mentioned clearly

that the Bible
doesn't say babies

as it relates to
the resurrection.

Couple of points that we
want to really be cautious

to emphasizes since
the Bible doesn't give

any clear
scriptural statements to say

that babies, who have
not accept to Jesus will

or will not be
in the resurrection?

You know the thing I
often say and I know that

sometimes people
that asked that question

are concerned that a
baby may have been born

and died early, maybe
weeks after his birth.

I've seen people say, you know,

see you in the mornings,
see you in the resurrection

that is the
longing of the parent.

And I would, I would
say that for the parent

who is a Christian, for
the parent who has lived

his or her life for the
Lord, I could see that baby

being restored to that
parent in the resurrection.

I don't see any
reason for that baby

to be punished for
sins not committed,

having never reach
the age of accountability.

So at best we have to
just accept what the Lord says

and that is His long
suffering towards us,

not willing that
any should perish.

Quite a different
story when a person

gets to the age
of accountability,

they've to make decision
for or against salvation.

But because it's
not stated in scripture,

we have to just make it a
point of speculation and say,

not cause the resurrection

to be a second
point of pain for parents

who have lost their children,
who live a Christian life.

But on the other side of that,

I believe that
for those who have,

haven't lived the Christian life

there is one text in the
Bible, it's just came to my mind

and I believe the Holy
Spirit brought to me that text.

Now go with me to
Exodus, Exodus Chapter 20,

you know, we pray for guidance

and as we move our lips,
the Lord inserts knowledge

into our brains.
00:07:36.50\00:07:38.66
The one evidence
I have in scripture

is Exodus Chapter 20, all right.
00:07:41.60\00:07:49.61
And look at verse 5.

Now in the middle of
verse 5 the Lord talks
00:07:51.80\00:07:53.81
about well, let's
just read it, it says,
00:07:53.82\00:07:58.04
"You shall not
bow down to them."
00:07:58.05\00:08:00.28
That's to graven images.
00:08:00.29\00:08:02.09
Nor serve them for
I the Lord your God
00:08:02.10\00:08:04.57
I'm a jealous God.
00:08:04.58\00:08:05.80
' And here is
something that really opened
00:08:05.81\00:08:07.55
my mind just a moment ago.
00:08:07.56\00:08:09.29
"Visiting the
iniquity of the father
00:08:09.30\00:08:11.83
on the children to the
third and fourth generation

of those who hate me."

So I would say in that context

if a person
doesn't serves the Lord

and the whole family
line is one family line

after the other of those
who do not serve the Lord.

I think that the
iniquities of the father will be

passed on to the children of
the third and fourth generation.

In other words, the
practices will go on,

not that, not that your
sins will have to be atoned

for by your son
or by your daughter.

But the sins of
the father will be

practiced by
the next generation,

along the way die young,

that the transgressions

cycle of evil is broken.

I don't see that child
coming forth in the resurrection

because the sins of the
father have been passed on.

You also have another
text in the Book of Ezekiel,

where it says, though
Daniel, Job, and Noah in it,

they shall neither save them

their sons or daughters
by their righteousness.

In other words,
they had to have their
00:09:19.30\00:09:20.29
own righteousness to be saved.

But at best we have to just lean
00:09:22.10\00:09:23.50
on the
sovereignty of God and say,

in the resurrection you
won't be greatly disappointed

if you're gonna be there
and say but what about my kid?

that died when I was,

That's the best I

that points into this John,

is often misunderstood

is 1st Thessalonians Chapter
4, where it talks about Jesus

bringing with Him
those who sleep in Jesus.

And you know much of
the Christian world today

has begun to translate that text

as bringing
with Him from heaven,

those who have
found a sleep in Jesus

back to this earth to
establish His earthly kingdom.

The problem that they don't,

the thing they don't see is that
He is not touching this earth

and the bringing with Him
is, from the resurrection,

that sleep in
Jesus back to heaven.

He's prepared for them.

Christians today really see

or have taken from

And that is hinged on this idea
of the immortality of the soul.

what had cleared up there?

But it helped them to make a
decision to follow Christ was,

they always
wondered with this idea

of a soul continuing to live on.

That a person in
their understanding died,

he went to heaven then
came back and went back.

They said,
what's all the rigmarole

and when they discovered
that there is a resurrection,

verse 28 and 29 says,

''Do not marvel at
this for the hour is coming

that are in the graves

All that are in the graves will
hear His voice and come forth.

Those that have done good
to the resurrection of life,

those that have done evil to the
resurrection of condemnation.

resurrection has often them,

the doctrine that's
kind of ignored today.

Christian of a different faith

other than Adventist,
ask yourself the question

when have you heard the
resurrection talked about?

I heard it talked about
once by pastor, who said, well,

yeah the body is
gonna be resurrected

and the soul is gonna
come back from the heaven,

but you have a
problem with that,

because there is
no place in scripture

that teaches that and thirdly,

Ezekiel 18:4, "The soul
that sins, it shall die."

So we have all sinned and fallen
short to the glory of God,

but so there is a lot
of inconsistencies there

with people being
brought back with Christ.

He is coming first
time for His saints,

that's a second coming at
the end of the thousand years

coming back with His saints.

Forty verses in
the New Testament

about the resurrection. Okay.

So this is a significant
teaching in the Bible

that is being
disregarded really today.
