Hello and welcome back to 3ABN Fall Camp Meeting 00:00:48.74\00:00:53.05 2018. I'm so excited to be here 00:00:53.25\00:00:56.08 with the chairman of our board: Bruce Fjarli. 00:00:56.28\00:00:58.99 I'm Jason Bradley and we have a wonderful panel 00:00:59.19\00:01:02.82 where they will be answering questions - Bible questions - 00:01:03.02\00:01:07.96 that have been submitted by some of you 00:01:08.16\00:01:11.60 and some of the viewers at home. 00:01:11.80\00:01:13.44 So we have Pastor John Lomacang. 00:01:13.64\00:01:16.30 We have Pastor C.A. Murray. 00:01:16.50\00:01:18.74 We have Shelley Quinn and we have Pastor Ryan Day. 00:01:18.94\00:01:22.41 So... Bruce, are you going to ask our first question? 00:01:23.41\00:01:27.38 It's good to be here with everyone here 00:01:27.58\00:01:29.58 and everyone at home. 00:01:29.78\00:01:31.12 Our first question is for the panel, and panel: 00:01:31.15\00:01:34.62 we've gotta go quick 'cause we have a lot of questions. 00:01:34.82\00:01:37.39 Where is it in the Bible written 00:01:38.49\00:01:40.73 "to strengthen your unbelief? " 00:01:40.93\00:01:43.73 Where is it written in the Bible 00:01:44.13\00:01:46.74 "to strengthen your unbelief. " 00:01:46.94\00:01:49.37 In one of the gospels... I know that. 00:01:49.57\00:01:52.14 I think the problem is that the text doesn't read 00:01:53.74\00:01:56.58 "strengthen your unbelief. " 00:01:56.78\00:01:58.11 Someone asked "strengthen my unbelief. " 00:01:58.18\00:02:01.92 I think that's what we're dealing with. 00:02:02.32\00:02:04.29 Well I think the quote is when he said: "Lord, I believe. 00:02:04.49\00:02:07.69 Help Thou my unbelief. " 00:02:07.89\00:02:09.96 Yeah... so... 00:02:10.16\00:02:11.83 I don't think that we can strengthen our own belief. 00:02:12.03\00:02:14.80 That's in Mark 9:24. 00:02:15.00\00:02:17.07 There you go... thank you. Mark 9:24. 00:02:17.27\00:02:21.00 Mark 9:24 and the Bible reads as follows. 00:02:21.20\00:02:26.74 Here it is... Mark 9:24: 00:02:26.94\00:02:29.54 I like the fact that you guys got right to the questions. 00:02:29.74\00:02:33.05 Yeah, we have a lot of questions. 00:02:33.25\00:02:34.58 "Immediately the father of the child cried out and said 00:02:34.65\00:02:38.22 with tears: 'Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief. ' " 00:02:38.42\00:02:42.79 Mark 9:24. 00:02:42.99\00:02:44.56 Technically you don't want to strengthen your unbelief. 00:02:44.76\00:02:47.53 You want to strengthen your belief. 00:02:47.73\00:02:49.06 So he asked for strength in his belief. 00:02:49.23\00:02:51.63 He had some faith... he wanted stronger faith. 00:02:51.83\00:02:54.44 And you know we really... It is God that works in us 00:02:54.64\00:02:59.27 to will and to do His good pleasure. 00:02:59.47\00:03:00.81 So He is the One we want to call on just as this man did. 00:03:00.91\00:03:04.15 "Lord, help Thou my unbelief. " 00:03:04.35\00:03:06.75 But Romans 10:17 says "Faith comes by hearing 00:03:07.15\00:03:12.49 and hearing by the Word of God. " 00:03:12.69\00:03:14.49 So if you want to strengthen your belief 00:03:14.89\00:03:18.13 get into the Word of God 00:03:18.63\00:03:21.43 and learn to claim His promises 00:03:21.83\00:03:24.40 and pray them back to Him. And you will not believe 00:03:24.60\00:03:27.94 how God will work in you to strengthen your belief. 00:03:28.14\00:03:31.87 Amen! OK, so now we have a question that says: 00:03:32.07\00:03:35.91 "Will there be a secret rapture? " 00:03:36.11\00:03:38.95 No. 00:03:40.75\00:03:42.25 Care to elaborate? 00:03:43.89\00:03:45.32 "As the sun shineth from the east to the west 00:03:47.69\00:03:49.99 so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. " 00:03:50.19\00:03:52.19 Nothing secret about the second coming of the Lord. 00:03:52.69\00:03:54.26 It will come as a thief in the night, true, but you've got to 00:03:54.46\00:03:56.73 keep on reading: "In the which the elements shall melt 00:03:56.93\00:04:00.20 with fervent heat. " So there's nothing secret 00:04:00.40\00:04:02.30 about the second coming of the Lord. 00:04:02.50\00:04:03.84 He's not trying to sneak in here. 00:04:03.87\00:04:05.21 When He comes we'll all know. 00:04:05.24\00:04:06.71 The description comes to my mind when people ask that question 00:04:08.24\00:04:12.05 first of all I rarely have some- one call it a secret rapture. 00:04:12.25\00:04:15.68 I think that's more something that we've kind of tagged 00:04:15.88\00:04:18.02 to that because that's essentially the idea 00:04:18.22\00:04:20.42 that people are communicating: the fact that Jesus is going to 00:04:20.62\00:04:22.72 come kind of quietly, very suddenly 00:04:22.92\00:04:25.36 and you know people are going to start vanishing out of nowhere. 00:04:25.56\00:04:29.10 But all through the New Testa- ment and even parts of the 00:04:29.40\00:04:31.97 Old Testament we have those texts where we are shown 00:04:32.17\00:04:36.27 the events or the details given to us pertaining to the second 00:04:36.47\00:04:39.64 coming of Jesus. One of those that stick out to me 00:04:39.84\00:04:42.08 is I Thessalonians chapter 4. 00:04:42.28\00:04:43.98 And I like to call it the loudest verse in the Bible. 00:04:44.38\00:04:46.21 This is definitely not a secret rapture or a secret coming 00:04:46.41\00:04:50.19 at all for it says here in verse 16 00:04:50.39\00:04:55.26 "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a? 00:04:55.46\00:04:58.13 shout, with the voice of an archangel, with the trump of God 00:04:58.33\00:05:01.73 and the dead... " It's going to be so loud 00:05:01.93\00:05:03.60 and non-secret that it's going to wake the dead up 00:05:03.80\00:05:05.83 because it says: "the dead in Christ will rise first. 00:05:06.03\00:05:09.04 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up 00:05:09.24\00:05:11.24 together with them in the clouds... " 00:05:11.44\00:05:13.17 So that's not secret! 00:05:13.38\00:05:14.71 "to meet the Lord in the air and thus shall we always be 00:05:14.74\00:05:18.01 with the Lord. " And I always like to read the last verse, 00:05:18.21\00:05:20.22 verse 18: "Therefore comfort one another 00:05:20.42\00:05:22.38 with these words. " It's comforting to know 00:05:22.58\00:05:24.32 that Jesus isn't going to sneak up on us. 00:05:24.52\00:05:26.32 He WILL be know when He arrives. 00:05:26.52\00:05:28.96 That's right. And Psalm 50 and verse 3 00:05:29.16\00:05:33.83 speaking about the coming of the Lord: 00:05:34.03\00:05:35.66 "Our God shall come and shall not keep silent. " 00:05:35.86\00:05:38.87 Not only will He not be silent 00:05:39.07\00:05:40.67 as pointed out by I Thessalonians 00:05:40.87\00:05:42.40 but it says: "A fire shall devour before Him 00:05:42.60\00:05:45.67 and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. " 00:05:45.87\00:05:48.68 So you see that if He's coming back... 00:05:48.88\00:05:52.21 Why would the most important event in human history 00:05:52.41\00:05:55.85 be a silent event? 00:05:57.22\00:05:58.85 Nothing that happens in humanity... 00:05:59.05\00:06:00.99 You have the World Series, the whole world knows. 00:06:01.19\00:06:02.89 You have the NFL championship, everybody knows. 00:06:03.09\00:06:05.19 The presidency, anything that's happening in Congress, 00:06:06.06\00:06:09.06 the whole world is watching. 00:06:09.26\00:06:10.60 Why would the King of the Universe tiptoe back 00:06:10.83\00:06:14.40 when that's the most important event in human history? 00:06:14.60\00:06:16.91 That's right. He'd never come quietly. 00:06:17.11\00:06:18.91 If you read Luke's gospel of the first coming, 00:06:19.11\00:06:21.38 you've got angels, you've got a star. 00:06:21.58\00:06:24.01 He's never snuck in... 00:06:24.21\00:06:25.55 He's certainly not going to sneak in the last time. 00:06:25.58\00:06:27.28 I'm looking forward to that day. Our next question 00:06:27.48\00:06:29.85 is on forgiveness. Does Jesus forgive someone 00:06:30.05\00:06:33.56 who does not want forgiveness? 00:06:33.76\00:06:35.79 And part two... this is a two-fer... 00:06:35.99\00:06:37.93 part two is: Should we forgive someone 00:06:38.13\00:06:40.76 who does not want forgiveness? 00:06:40.96\00:06:43.53 I John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, 00:06:46.13\00:06:48.00 He is faithful and just to forgive. " 00:06:48.20\00:06:50.04 Predicated on confession. 00:06:50.44\00:06:53.68 Now that's Jesus. 00:06:54.81\00:06:56.68 We're not quite there yet 00:06:57.08\00:06:59.01 so we need to forgive for our own salvation and our own sake. 00:06:59.95\00:07:04.22 Ellen White says that one of the reasons we don't 00:07:04.42\00:07:06.02 forgive is because we carry around - she uses the term - 00:07:06.22\00:07:08.26 "a big old bucket of pride. " 00:07:08.46\00:07:10.63 That's why we don't want to for- give: because they did it to me. 00:07:11.33\00:07:14.50 And if we can get rid of our pride 00:07:15.46\00:07:17.47 and be humble as servants 00:07:17.67\00:07:19.00 we would find it a little bit easier - a LOT easier - 00:07:19.13\00:07:21.17 to forgive. 00:07:21.37\00:07:22.70 Not forgiving someone is you taking the poison 00:07:22.90\00:07:26.27 and hoping they die. 00:07:26.47\00:07:27.81 OK. And forgiveness, really, 00:07:27.94\00:07:31.01 the first thing about forgive- ness is it frees the person 00:07:31.21\00:07:33.42 who extends the forgiveness. 00:07:33.62\00:07:34.95 You know, Jesus said: "Father, forgive them, for 00:07:35.25\00:07:36.99 they know not what they do. " And we know, we can look back 00:07:37.19\00:07:39.02 now on His closing life's record, 00:07:39.22\00:07:41.42 and not say that He ended His life with malice 00:07:41.62\00:07:44.86 or with anger or with hatred. 00:07:45.26\00:07:47.56 He extended forgiveness to those who didn't even know 00:07:47.96\00:07:50.57 what they did. And a lot of times 00:07:50.77\00:07:52.10 the reason why we extend forgiveness is because people 00:07:52.30\00:07:54.40 don't understand the impact of what they've done on us. 00:07:54.60\00:07:56.81 But the person as you said, Bruce, 00:07:57.34\00:07:59.47 thank you for sharing that line, 00:07:59.67\00:08:01.01 the first person that becomes free is the one that extends 00:08:01.04\00:08:03.85 the forgiveness... because to reiterate 00:08:04.05\00:08:06.11 you can take poison all your life, and in many cases - 00:08:06.31\00:08:09.28 as a matter of fact in ALL cases - 00:08:10.59\00:08:12.15 you'll die before the other person does. 00:08:12.35\00:08:14.62 And the other thing about that: you'll carry with yourself 00:08:15.02\00:08:17.39 a burden when other people have mentally and emotionally 00:08:17.59\00:08:21.43 moved on... and you're carrying burdens. 00:08:21.63\00:08:24.23 We find people many, many years later... 00:08:24.43\00:08:26.40 That's why the Lord was met by the paralyzed man and his 00:08:26.60\00:08:30.61 friends brought him to the Lord as they broke open the roof. 00:08:30.81\00:08:33.07 One of the first things Jesus said: "Your sins be forgiven 00:08:33.48\00:08:35.74 you. " Because that man's condition was based on something 00:08:35.94\00:08:39.18 that brought about this need for being forgiven. 00:08:39.38\00:08:42.82 And the thing that gave him the freedom was the Lord 00:08:43.32\00:08:45.62 forgave him first which facilitated the healing 00:08:45.82\00:08:49.19 that was the next aspect in his experience. 00:08:49.39\00:08:51.73 So forgiveness leads to not only spiritual wholeness 00:08:52.13\00:08:55.76 but physical healing. 00:08:55.96\00:08:57.30 Amen! Now here's a question that you hear asked a lot. 00:08:57.40\00:09:01.14 Is it a sin to be tempted? 00:09:01.54\00:09:03.74 No. The Bible says that Jesus was tempted in all ways 00:09:04.14\00:09:08.74 as we are. Uh-huh. The sin... You know, it's interesting 00:09:08.94\00:09:13.48 because when you think of lust 00:09:13.68\00:09:18.95 people will call lust a temptation. 00:09:19.35\00:09:22.89 No... lust is a sin. 00:09:23.09\00:09:24.49 Jesus said that if you lust after another woman 00:09:24.89\00:09:30.17 or someone who's not yours, 00:09:30.37\00:09:32.10 then you've already committed adultery in your heart. 00:09:32.50\00:09:36.57 The temptation comes... Let's say that someone 00:09:36.77\00:09:39.47 walks in front of you scantily clad 00:09:39.67\00:09:42.41 there's a temptation. You've got to turn your eyes away. 00:09:42.61\00:09:46.45 Turn your eyes to Jesus 00:09:46.65\00:09:48.78 and not let lust come into your heart. 00:09:48.98\00:09:52.59 You know you've heard the saying that you can't stop a bird 00:09:52.79\00:09:56.52 from flying over your head 00:09:56.73\00:09:58.06 but you can stop them from nesting. 00:09:58.16\00:10:00.30 And so that is something that the Bible tells us in Hebrews 00:10:00.70\00:10:04.67 that He was tempted in all ways as we are yet without sin. 00:10:04.87\00:10:08.57 And we've got to hang onto that. 00:10:08.97\00:10:11.34 The passage that comes to my mind when I'm asked this 00:10:12.64\00:10:15.44 question is James chapter 1 verses 14 and 15. 00:10:15.64\00:10:19.11 It actually gives us the clear differentiation 00:10:19.68\00:10:22.12 between sin and temptation. 00:10:22.32\00:10:24.59 Verse 14 says: "But each one 00:10:24.79\00:10:27.09 is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires 00:10:27.29\00:10:30.93 and enticed. " I think all of us fall into that category. 00:10:31.13\00:10:33.56 But notice verse 15. It says: "Then 00:10:33.96\00:10:36.33 when desire has conceived 00:10:36.53\00:10:39.50 it gives birth to sin. 00:10:39.90\00:10:42.94 And sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. " 00:10:43.14\00:10:46.27 So it's not a sin to be tempted. 00:10:46.47\00:10:48.11 We're all tempted as she said Christ was tempted. 00:10:48.31\00:10:50.51 But when we give in to that... 00:10:50.91\00:10:52.25 when we succumb to those desires and that temptation... 00:10:52.45\00:10:54.38 then sin is born. 00:10:54.78\00:10:56.35 Ryan, include verse 13 because that gives such a beautiful 00:10:56.75\00:11:00.36 picture I think that answers the question directly. 00:11:00.56\00:11:02.12 Oh, yeah... I like this: "Let no one say when he is 00:11:02.32\00:11:04.73 tempted 'I am tempted by God, ' for God cannot be tempted 00:11:04.93\00:11:08.06 by evil nor does He Himself tempt anyone. " 00:11:08.26\00:11:11.50 Amen! So don't converse with your temptations. 00:11:11.70\00:11:15.77 Next question: how do you explain reincarnation? 00:11:19.14\00:11:23.35 How do you explain reincarnation? 00:11:25.11\00:11:27.92 Spiritualism. 00:11:28.32\00:11:30.12 Yeah, go ahead. I was going to say it's a form of spiritualism. 00:11:30.32\00:11:33.52 Reincarnation is not Biblical, 00:11:35.22\00:11:37.19 so the quick answer that I would give to someone 00:11:37.59\00:11:39.76 is that it's not Biblical. 00:11:39.96\00:11:41.30 You can't find one text in all the Bible 00:11:41.33\00:11:44.63 that spells out that kind of ideology or concept. 00:11:44.83\00:11:50.04 I would just say reincarnation is a myth. 00:11:50.24\00:11:53.81 I mean, the Bible is very clear 00:11:54.01\00:11:56.78 that when we die we sleep. 00:11:56.98\00:12:00.58 We're not awakened till... John 5:28-29. 00:12:00.78\00:12:04.85 When Jesus returns all who are in their graves 00:12:05.05\00:12:09.82 will hear His voice. 00:12:10.03\00:12:11.36 Death is a sleep, so reincarnation is a myth. 00:12:11.39\00:12:16.50 "If a man dies, shall he live again? " 00:12:17.67\00:12:19.80 In all of the ancient languages, all of the ancient countries 00:12:20.00\00:12:23.64 there is something akin to reincarnation. 00:12:23.84\00:12:26.47 The Jews had it. They had this idea that if you lived 00:12:26.68\00:12:28.91 one way in this life you would live the opposite way 00:12:29.11\00:12:30.85 in the next life. It is a perversion of a Bible truth. 00:12:31.05\00:12:36.02 The truth is we will be... and I say this advisedly... 00:12:36.22\00:12:40.59 "reincarnated" after the second coming. 00:12:40.79\00:12:43.12 But that is a work of God under the auspices of Jesus 00:12:43.32\00:12:48.86 not some karma outworking that we do ourselves. 00:12:49.26\00:12:53.40 Hmm. Incarnate means inherent. 00:12:53.60\00:12:57.77 Jesus was incarnate God... 00:12:59.54\00:13:04.31 unborrowed, underived. 00:13:04.51\00:13:06.21 The incarnation aspect pre- supposes that there is something 00:13:06.61\00:13:10.59 in you that never dies. 00:13:10.79\00:13:12.12 That's why you reincarnate. 00:13:13.09\00:13:15.36 But there's nothing in humanity that continues to exist 00:13:15.56\00:13:18.99 after death. 00:13:19.19\00:13:21.23 And so the Lord made it very clear. I'll just give you 00:13:21.63\00:13:24.70 a couple of examples here. In Genesis 3:19 00:13:24.90\00:13:26.77 the Lord said to Adam: "In the sweat of your face 00:13:27.07\00:13:29.27 you shall eat bread till you return to the ground. 00:13:29.47\00:13:32.97 For out of it you were taken; for dust you are 00:13:33.17\00:13:35.41 and to dust you shall return. " 00:13:35.61\00:13:37.55 Returning to life... another form of life... 00:13:37.91\00:13:41.22 is not what the Bible supports. 00:13:41.42\00:13:42.75 Returning to your condition before you were created 00:13:42.78\00:13:45.72 is what the Bible says... not reincarnation. 00:13:45.92\00:13:47.89 That's returning... returning to dust. 00:13:48.09\00:13:50.16 And you stay there. You are not reincarnated 00:13:50.36\00:13:53.70 by your own inherent... I know what Pastor C.A. meant. 00:13:53.90\00:13:56.30 He made a very clear point 00:13:56.50\00:13:57.83 that the life that you experience again 00:13:58.13\00:14:01.50 comes from the Lifegiver. 00:14:01.70\00:14:03.57 And the trumpet of God brings that back to life. 00:14:03.97\00:14:06.14 So when Paul says: "You died and your life is hidden with Christ" 00:14:06.34\00:14:09.31 "hidden with Christ in God... " 00:14:09.51\00:14:11.55 he is saying "Every record of every human life, 00:14:11.75\00:14:14.25 everybody that ever was born, 00:14:14.45\00:14:16.48 the record of their existence is kept by God. 00:14:16.69\00:14:19.39 And I used to think that... The one thing I learned 00:14:19.59\00:14:21.46 and Ellen White made this very clear 00:14:21.66\00:14:23.69 we would say "OK, nothing survives death. " 00:14:24.09\00:14:26.46 That's true. There's no soul that continues to go on. 00:14:26.66\00:14:30.03 You don't live in a different location 00:14:30.23\00:14:32.13 and there is no existing afterlife. 00:14:32.53\00:14:34.24 But the one thing that survives your death is your life record. 00:14:34.44\00:14:38.04 That is what determines 00:14:41.51\00:14:43.08 which resurrection you are going to be in. 00:14:43.28\00:14:44.98 And that life record is what Christ keeps. 00:14:45.58\00:14:50.92 Every man shall receive a reward according as his work shall be. 00:14:51.12\00:14:54.96 "Behold I come quickly and my reward is with Me. " 00:14:55.16\00:14:56.89 Your life record continues to go on 00:14:57.29\00:15:00.00 and that determines which resu- rection you are going to be in. 00:15:00.20\00:15:03.57 Amen. OK, Shelley and then we have to move on. 00:15:03.77\00:15:05.57 Yes... I just want to add this: 00:15:05.77\00:15:07.54 Reincarnation presupposes immortality. 00:15:07.74\00:15:11.14 The Bible tells us in I Timothy 6:16 00:15:11.54\00:15:14.34 "God alone has immortality 00:15:14.54\00:15:17.81 who lives in an unapproachable light that no man has seen 00:15:18.01\00:15:21.92 or can see. " And then in I Corinthians 15 00:15:22.12\00:15:25.49 it tells us when we put on immortality. 00:15:25.69\00:15:29.92 If you come up in the first resurrection, 00:15:30.33\00:15:32.69 I Corinthian 15:51 says: "We shall not all sleep - " 00:15:32.89\00:15:37.07 as in death - "but we shall all be changed 00:15:37.27\00:15:40.04 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye 00:15:40.24\00:15:42.10 at the last trumpet... " When Christ returns... 00:15:42.30\00:15:45.51 "For the trumpet will sound and the dead will rise 00:15:45.71\00:15:50.01 incorruptible and we shall be changed. 00:15:50.21\00:15:53.92 For this corruption must put on incorruption 00:15:54.12\00:15:57.29 and this mortal must put on immortality. " 00:15:57.49\00:16:02.16 But that happens at the first resurrection. 00:16:02.56\00:16:06.76 Amen! 00:16:07.16\00:16:08.50 OK... now how many of you have heard this question asked 00:16:08.56\00:16:13.20 before? Why do bad things happen to good people? 00:16:13.40\00:16:16.87 Why do bad things happen to bad people? 00:16:19.37\00:16:22.61 You know, the sun shines on the just and the unjust; 00:16:23.58\00:16:28.02 the rain falls on the just and the unjust. 00:16:28.22\00:16:31.39 No one is excluded from the results of sin. 00:16:31.95\00:16:35.12 And that's the answer to that. 00:16:35.52\00:16:36.93 No one is excluded from the results of sin. 00:16:37.33\00:16:40.20 The difference between those who have not accepted Christ 00:16:40.40\00:16:43.43 and those who have is the results of sin for us 00:16:43.63\00:16:47.04 are only temporary, but the benefits of righteousness 00:16:47.24\00:16:50.74 is eternal. For those who have not accepted Christ 00:16:50.94\00:16:54.11 the results of sin are eternal 00:16:54.31\00:16:56.11 and the benefits of Christ - the sun and the rain - 00:16:56.31\00:16:58.98 are temporary. So it happens to all. 00:16:59.18\00:17:02.18 Solomon, the wise man, speaking about humanity, he said 00:17:02.58\00:17:05.89 "Death happens to all. " The dog, the lion, 00:17:06.59\00:17:09.39 the human... it all happens to all. 00:17:09.59\00:17:11.16 But the one thing between the dog and us 00:17:11.36\00:17:13.60 is we have the promise of eternal life. 00:17:13.80\00:17:15.36 I think the presupposition is erroneous. 00:17:15.76\00:17:18.17 Christ said: "Why callest thou Me good? 00:17:19.37\00:17:21.24 There is none good but the Father which is in heaven. " 00:17:21.44\00:17:24.31 We look at a person's life. They seem to be going well. 00:17:24.51\00:17:26.94 Things seem to be going... we say "Oh, that's a good person. " 00:17:27.14\00:17:29.64 But you never really know what's going on inside. 00:17:29.84\00:17:32.08 Our righteousness is a gift of God through the justification 00:17:32.28\00:17:36.32 experience. And then, of course, He calls us righteous 00:17:36.52\00:17:39.12 and then sets about making us what He calls us 00:17:39.32\00:17:41.46 through the sanctification experience. 00:17:41.66\00:17:43.22 So who is inherently good? 00:17:43.43\00:17:45.29 Who inherently has righteousness? 00:17:45.69\00:17:47.50 No, not one. 00:17:47.70\00:17:49.53 Ryan, you got something? 00:17:49.73\00:17:51.07 You know, when this question is asked 00:17:51.23\00:17:53.07 the passage that comes to my mind is the parable of 00:17:53.27\00:17:56.47 the wheat and the tares. 00:17:56.67\00:17:58.44 And I just want to read these couple of texts here. 00:17:58.84\00:18:01.51 It says: "The kingdom of heaven is likened to man 00:18:01.71\00:18:04.01 who sowed good seed in his field. While men slept... " 00:18:04.21\00:18:06.82 notice... "his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat 00:18:07.02\00:18:09.88 and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted 00:18:10.09\00:18:13.12 and produced a crop then the tares also appeared. " 00:18:13.32\00:18:16.02 Now verse 27 is interesting: 00:18:16.22\00:18:17.73 "So the servants of the owner came and said to him: 00:18:17.93\00:18:21.83 'Sir, when did you not sow good seed in your field? 00:18:22.23\00:18:25.90 How then does it have tares? ' 00:18:26.30\00:18:29.34 And then notice verse 29 here: 00:18:29.54\00:18:31.34 "But he said... " No... excuse me... yep. 00:18:31.54\00:18:35.98 He says: "No, lest while you gather up the tares... " 00:18:36.18\00:18:38.55 Excuse me... I've lost my spot. 00:18:38.75\00:18:40.48 Oh, verse 28. I skipped it: 00:18:40.88\00:18:43.25 "He said unto them... " these few words here... 00:18:43.45\00:18:45.82 "An enemy has done this. An enemy has done this. " 00:18:46.02\00:18:49.92 Verse 27 there's almost like an implied accusation 00:18:50.13\00:18:53.03 against the character of God there. 00:18:53.23\00:18:54.70 You know, sometimes when we ask that question 00:18:54.90\00:18:57.37 "Why do bad things happen to good people? " 00:18:57.57\00:18:59.60 we always want to also ask the question right along with it: 00:18:59.80\00:19:02.60 "Why doesn't God keep it from happening? " 00:19:02.80\00:19:04.61 And truthfully God was asked that question. 00:19:04.81\00:19:06.84 "Hey, Lord... didn't you sow good seed? 00:19:07.04\00:19:09.74 And how did these tares get here? " Almost like 00:19:09.94\00:19:11.41 "Did you have something to do with this? " 00:19:11.61\00:19:13.52 But of course the answer was: "An enemy has done this. " 00:19:13.92\00:19:17.25 Yeah... the enemy. We have an enemy, and he's... 00:19:17.45\00:19:20.42 he wants to destroy us - Absolutely! 00:19:20.62\00:19:23.79 to keep us from choosing Jesus. 00:19:23.99\00:19:25.46 Um-hmm. That almost reminds me back with Adam and Eve... 00:19:25.66\00:19:28.40 You know, Adam was saying: "Well, it was the woman that 00:19:28.60\00:19:30.90 You gave me. " You know, trying to blame God. 00:19:31.10\00:19:33.44 What other questions do you have? 00:19:33.64\00:19:35.94 What does the Bible say about cremation? 00:19:36.14\00:19:39.31 I was just listening to Pastor C.A. because 00:19:41.74\00:19:43.48 the point he made I really grasped onto it 00:19:43.68\00:19:45.51 but I don't know if you caught it 00:19:45.71\00:19:47.05 because he made a point that was really powerful. 00:19:47.15\00:19:48.88 He said: "It presupposes that we're good. " 00:19:49.08\00:19:51.65 But there's nobody good... 00:19:52.05\00:19:53.39 so bad things can't happen to good people. 00:19:53.42\00:19:55.52 There you go. I know they didn't get it. 00:19:59.19\00:20:01.06 Ain't nobody good! 00:20:03.00\00:20:04.33 Bad things can't happen to good people 'cause 00:20:04.80\00:20:06.63 there's nobody good. Yeah. 00:20:06.84\00:20:09.00 That's right. So... back to our next question. 00:20:10.07\00:20:12.84 There are a couple of examples or texts 00:20:14.61\00:20:18.95 and I cannot think of them - I don't know if you all can - 00:20:19.15\00:20:21.38 of cremation in the Bible. 00:20:21.58\00:20:23.79 We've done a lot of study on this because my husband and I 00:20:24.49\00:20:27.96 have determined we will be cremated. 00:20:28.16\00:20:30.13 And so we wanted to make certain 00:20:30.33\00:20:32.06 that that was scriptural. 00:20:32.26\00:20:33.83 But I'm sorry that I can't think of the text. 00:20:34.03\00:20:36.97 Can you? I can't think of a specific text in the Bible 00:20:37.17\00:20:41.67 that addresses the concept of cremation. 00:20:41.87\00:20:43.91 The fact that... I mean, if there's one I would love for 00:20:44.11\00:20:46.68 someone to show me. But as far as my knowledge 00:20:46.88\00:20:49.48 there's not one that I'm aware of. 00:20:49.68\00:20:51.05 And so I think it really just is up to the individual, 00:20:51.25\00:20:54.38 the person, to make that decision. 00:20:54.58\00:20:57.29 I know a lot of Christians who try to 00:20:57.49\00:21:00.79 make that sound bad or make others feel bad about 00:21:01.62\00:21:04.26 making that decision to be cremated 00:21:04.46\00:21:06.23 because it's our tradition here in Western culture 00:21:06.73\00:21:10.23 for the most part to bury the dead in the ground. 00:21:10.43\00:21:13.34 Again, as the pastor read earlier: "Unto dust you shall 00:21:13.54\00:21:15.77 return. " But you know, I had a gentleman one time 00:21:15.97\00:21:19.14 he kind of stopped me in one of my seminars 00:21:19.44\00:21:21.81 and he was rebuking me. "How could you tell someone 00:21:22.01\00:21:23.65 that they can make that decision on their own? 00:21:23.85\00:21:25.88 They should be buried as we should be buried. 00:21:26.08\00:21:28.32 Unto dust they return. " And I brought up the point: 00:21:28.52\00:21:30.52 "You know, there's a lot of people in the Dark Ages 00:21:30.72\00:21:32.62 that didn't have that choice. 00:21:32.82\00:21:34.16 They were burned at a stake 00:21:34.19\00:21:35.52 and they were martyrs for Jesus and they gave their life 00:21:35.62\00:21:38.23 for the gospel of Jesus Christ. 00:21:38.43\00:21:40.16 And I don't know how God's going to do it, but I know that 00:21:40.36\00:21:42.56 He can just speak the word and that person can appear 00:21:42.76\00:21:45.10 with a brand new body and they WILL go to heaven. " 00:21:45.30\00:21:47.57 Your text is: "In the beginning God created the heavens 00:21:47.77\00:21:50.57 and the earth. " And if past is prologue, 00:21:50.77\00:21:52.84 what He did before He can do it again. 00:21:53.04\00:21:55.24 Is it any harder for God to recreate a body that has been 00:21:55.44\00:21:58.35 burned to ashes or that over the centuries 00:21:58.55\00:22:00.88 has disappeared through the natural process? 00:22:01.08\00:22:03.85 If God can do one, God can do the other. 00:22:04.05\00:22:06.96 Ashes to ashes... dust to dust. 00:22:07.16\00:22:08.89 Whether you create the ashes or nature creates the ashes 00:22:09.09\00:22:11.89 they're still ashes... and God has the power 00:22:12.09\00:22:14.40 to make something out of nothing. 00:22:14.60\00:22:17.63 Um-hmm. 00:22:17.83\00:22:19.17 OK... excellent answers. 00:22:19.37\00:22:22.47 Now people want to know "Where is God when I am hurting? " 00:22:23.57\00:22:28.38 Psalm 34... let's go there. 00:22:29.98\00:22:31.91 The question is: "Where are you in your attitude 00:22:34.02\00:22:37.65 about God when you're hurting? " That's really the issue. 00:22:37.85\00:22:39.95 God has often been praised for the blessing 00:22:40.16\00:22:42.69 and blamed for the pain. 00:22:42.89\00:22:46.03 That's the sad reality even among Christians. 00:22:46.53\00:22:49.20 I said to someone and Pastor C.A. talked about this. 00:22:49.40\00:22:52.83 You know, we go back... Before the Internet I've known Pr. C.A. 00:22:53.03\00:22:56.97 Just to kind of give you an idea and he's known me that long too. 00:22:57.51\00:22:59.67 Wow! But the point I'm making is... Yeah, before the Internet. 00:22:59.87\00:23:02.61 Before Al Gore created the Internet we've known each other. 00:23:02.81\00:23:05.51 See all this gray hair he has? 00:23:06.75\00:23:08.52 Notice I have none. 00:23:08.72\00:23:10.09 This is called "evolution. " 00:23:11.32\00:23:12.85 But what were we talking about? What was the question? 00:23:14.32\00:23:17.43 Oh boy... see what happens when you take exits? 00:23:19.23\00:23:21.80 What was I saying? 00:23:22.20\00:23:23.53 That's a part of aging. Where is God when I am...? 00:23:23.67\00:23:25.13 Where is God? Psalm 34. 00:23:25.33\00:23:27.34 Psalm 34. One of the reasons why the Lord doesn't allow 00:23:27.54\00:23:30.37 some people to go through trials is because they will deny God. 00:23:30.57\00:23:33.54 Psalm 34... look what the Bible says. 00:23:36.31\00:23:39.11 Psalm 34... we're going to start with verse 17. 00:23:40.62\00:23:45.52 "The righteous cry out and the Lord hears 00:23:47.16\00:23:52.66 and delivers them out of... " How much? 00:23:52.86\00:23:55.20 "all their troubles. " 00:23:55.60\00:23:57.17 Where is the Lord? Verse 18: 00:23:57.57\00:23:59.53 "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart 00:23:59.73\00:24:03.54 and saves such as have a contrite spirit. " 00:24:03.74\00:24:08.61 Where is God? Verse 19: 00:24:08.81\00:24:10.78 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous 00:24:10.98\00:24:14.32 but the Lord delivers him out of them all. " 00:24:14.52\00:24:17.65 Amen! Amen. So don't tell your 00:24:17.85\00:24:22.52 God how big your afflictions are. 00:24:22.72\00:24:24.76 Tell your afflictions how big your God is. 00:24:25.16\00:24:27.53 Amen! It is the same issue the disciples had. 00:24:27.73\00:24:30.83 In the storm Jesus didn't leave the boat. 00:24:31.03\00:24:34.44 He was just taking a nap. 00:24:34.64\00:24:35.97 The boat rocked Him to sleep but to them it was a storm. 00:24:36.34\00:24:39.44 So many times we look at our trials and not our God. 00:24:39.64\00:24:42.44 That's why Ellen White says in the Desire of Ages 00:24:42.94\00:24:44.58 "The Lord allowed the lightning to flash to remind them 00:24:44.78\00:24:47.72 in their darkness that Jesus had not changed His location. " 00:24:47.92\00:24:50.69 Um-hmm. They saw Him sleeping and they woke Him up. 00:24:50.89\00:24:52.82 Said: "Do You not care that we perish? " 00:24:53.02\00:24:54.52 It's those ridiculous questions that don't get an answer. 00:24:54.72\00:24:57.69 He didn't say: "Of course I care! " 00:24:57.89\00:24:59.69 He said: "Why are you so fearful? How is this that you 00:24:59.89\00:25:02.13 have no faith? " And you'll discover in those 00:25:02.33\00:25:04.37 moments when your faith is challenged 00:25:04.57\00:25:05.93 it's your faith that's challenged... not your God. 00:25:06.13\00:25:08.37 Um-hm.. Amen. That's right! 00:25:08.57\00:25:10.07 Psalm 3:3 says: "You, O Lord, are a shield 00:25:10.27\00:25:13.14 for me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head. " 00:25:13.34\00:25:18.21 Your head has to be downcast to be lifted. 00:25:18.41\00:25:21.48 And I believe with all of my heart that 00:25:21.88\00:25:24.02 God allows things to come into our life 00:25:24.22\00:25:27.66 for our eternal benefit. 00:25:27.86\00:25:30.13 The worst year of my life 00:25:30.53\00:25:32.96 I can look back on now 00:25:33.36\00:25:35.46 and say was the best year of my life. 00:25:35.66\00:25:38.73 Because this is when God taught me to return His Word 00:25:39.13\00:25:43.67 to Him in prayer. 00:25:43.87\00:25:45.21 And His Word does not return void. 00:25:45.31\00:25:48.28 He taught me the power of His Word. 00:25:48.48\00:25:51.48 And so I am now... I mean, God was... 00:25:51.88\00:25:54.85 He cupped His hand under my chin and He lifted my face 00:25:55.05\00:25:59.35 to look at Him full-faced. 00:25:59.55\00:26:02.19 And I now can look back on that horrible 00:26:02.39\00:26:06.39 year of trial. It was a horrible year of illness. 00:26:06.59\00:26:10.77 It was everything, but I look back and I say 00:26:10.97\00:26:14.74 "Thank you, Lord, for allowing that in my life. " 00:26:14.94\00:26:19.24 Because it taught me to be totally dependent upon Him 00:26:19.64\00:26:23.21 but He also taught me truly that II Corinthians 1:20 00:26:23.41\00:26:27.52 "All of His promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. " 00:26:27.72\00:26:31.62 Amen. Ryan? Yeah. You know, the Great Commission. 00:26:31.82\00:26:35.06 What does Christ say? "Lo, I am with you? " 00:26:35.46\00:26:37.16 "Lo, I am with you always. " 00:26:37.36\00:26:39.66 Christ is indeed in the heavenly sanctuary 00:26:40.53\00:26:42.96 but He is omnipresent through the Spirit. 00:26:43.16\00:26:46.60 And I love the beautiful imagery that we have in 00:26:46.80\00:26:49.77 Revelation chapter 5 where we see that baby Lamb 00:26:49.97\00:26:53.34 that appears before the throne slain. 00:26:53.54\00:26:55.14 But the Bible says that there you find the seven eyes 00:26:55.34\00:26:58.71 within that Lamb which are the seven Spirits of God 00:26:58.91\00:27:01.68 that go throughout all of the world. 00:27:01.88\00:27:03.65 So Christ is present through the omnipresent Spirit 00:27:03.85\00:27:07.86 and He's with us. And so the Bible says that 00:27:08.06\00:27:11.69 the Father... Well we are told that the Father was with Christ 00:27:11.89\00:27:15.00 while He was hanging on the cross suffering. 00:27:15.20\00:27:16.53 You know, I have to believe that the Spirit of God was with 00:27:16.73\00:27:19.37 His people when they were suffering through the scripture. 00:27:19.57\00:27:21.47 And so I believe that same thing for us. 00:27:21.67\00:27:23.44 He is with us always. It is very difficult 00:27:23.64\00:27:26.04 to just put a period on some of these things. 00:27:26.24\00:27:28.58 I love Hebrews 13:5-6. 00:27:28.78\00:27:30.68 One: there is a reassurance that God will be our Helper. 00:27:31.08\00:27:34.58 That He will never leave us nor forsake us. 00:27:34.78\00:27:37.02 And then it say we can boldly say 00:27:37.22\00:27:39.89 "God is our Helper. " So even in those tough times 00:27:40.09\00:27:42.89 when it seems like you're alone 00:27:43.09\00:27:44.69 you can boldly state "God is my Helper; 00:27:44.89\00:27:46.80 I'm not doing this alone... He is by my side. " 00:27:47.00\00:27:49.16 I have learned... in 2008 was a bad year for me, 00:27:49.36\00:27:54.00 Shelley. I don't know what year was bad for you 00:27:54.20\00:27:56.07 but 2008 was bad for me. 00:27:56.27\00:27:58.17 And I learned to praise Jesus for the problems I was having 00:27:58.57\00:28:02.44 and He gave me great comfort through that. 00:28:02.64\00:28:05.25 Amen... Amen. And one last thing. 00:28:05.45\00:28:08.02 Shelley talked about this in the first hour of the program. 00:28:08.22\00:28:10.82 That very question that was posed 00:28:11.22\00:28:13.92 about why do bad things happen to good people, 00:28:14.12\00:28:15.72 where is God when hurt comes 00:28:15.92\00:28:17.26 is what I'm addressing with the sermon Coming With Clouds. 00:28:17.29\00:28:20.20 Because we live in clouds. I'm not going to say any more. 00:28:21.16\00:28:23.43 It's addressed in the sermon Coming With Clouds. 00:28:23.63\00:28:25.80 I encourage you to be here. 00:28:26.00\00:28:27.34 But I want to give one more text in Revelation 3. 00:28:27.37\00:28:29.27 Look at this text in Revelation chapter 3 00:28:29.47\00:28:31.71 and verse 8. 00:28:32.57\00:28:35.44 This was the message to the church of brotherly love... 00:28:35.64\00:28:38.68 the church He had nothing negative to say about. 00:28:39.08\00:28:41.05 Look what He says in verse 8. 00:28:41.82\00:28:43.32 "I know your works. 00:28:43.52\00:28:45.52 See, I have set before you an open door 00:28:47.52\00:28:49.96 and no one can shut it. " 00:28:50.16\00:28:51.56 Look at this: "For you have a little strength, 00:28:51.76\00:28:55.30 have kept My Word... " And here's the key: 00:28:55.50\00:28:58.00 "and have not denied My name. " 00:28:58.20\00:29:00.24 So often when trials come 00:29:00.44\00:29:02.77 Christians are the first to deny His name. 00:29:02.97\00:29:05.64 And when blessings come 00:29:06.04\00:29:07.38 they're the first ones to praise His name. 00:29:07.41\00:29:09.08 We've got to decide. We cannot be the fountain of bitter water 00:29:09.48\00:29:12.35 in times of difficulty and sweet water 00:29:12.55\00:29:14.68 in the times of prosperity. 00:29:14.88\00:29:16.22 Because the world is looking to us, our inconsistency will 00:29:16.42\00:29:19.42 result in somebody's loss. 00:29:19.62\00:29:20.96 That's why Lot's wife was lost: his inconsistency. 00:29:21.12\00:29:23.53 Um-hmm. So we have to know that when difficulty comes 00:29:23.73\00:29:25.63 God wants us to reveal to the world in our difficulty 00:29:25.83\00:29:28.36 that we serve a God greater than the god of this world. 00:29:28.56\00:29:30.93 Um-hmm. OK... next question. 00:29:31.13\00:29:33.47 Where in heaven does Jesus live? 00:29:33.87\00:29:37.74 Where in heaven does Jesus live? 00:29:38.14\00:29:40.01 I'm not sure where He lives but I know where He works. 00:29:41.84\00:29:44.41 OK. And if we study Daniel we understand 00:29:46.18\00:29:50.52 that His occupation now is in the sanctuary. 00:29:50.72\00:29:54.22 He's pleading cases... looking at cases. 00:29:54.62\00:29:56.69 We believe in a pre-advent judgment 00:29:56.89\00:29:59.73 from Revelation 22. 00:29:59.93\00:30:01.56 "I am coming and My reward is with Me. " 00:30:01.76\00:30:03.80 That means it's already been decided who's gonna 00:30:04.00\00:30:05.97 get that reward. So He is taking care of business 00:30:06.17\00:30:09.24 in His Father's house even as we speak. 00:30:09.44\00:30:11.67 Amen. 00:30:11.87\00:30:13.78 OK... well, this question: 00:30:14.18\00:30:17.58 Will we be keeping the Sabbath in heaven and the new earth? 00:30:17.78\00:30:21.22 Isaiah 66 verses 22 and 23. 00:30:28.09\00:30:30.99 Don't you just love the way they know the verses 00:30:33.06\00:30:35.53 right off the top of their heads? I just... 00:30:35.73\00:30:38.27 John gives me a blank stare 00:30:38.47\00:30:40.94 and then he goes to the text. It's wonderful. 00:30:41.34\00:30:46.04 Why are you in Psalm 12? 00:30:46.54\00:30:49.51 Isaiah 66 verses 22 and 23. 00:30:49.71\00:30:52.71 You're getting old, man... that's Isaiah. 00:30:52.91\00:30:55.05 Oh, you're in Isaiah 12. It's the gray hair. It's OK. 00:30:55.25\00:30:59.45 All right. Isaiah 66 verse 23 speaking of the new earth: 00:30:59.65\00:31:04.96 Excuse me, my voice is crackling. 00:31:05.66\00:31:07.96 "It shall come to pass from one new moon to another 00:31:08.36\00:31:11.90 and from one Sabbath to another 00:31:12.10\00:31:15.24 all flesh shall come to worship before Me says the Lord. " 00:31:15.44\00:31:20.21 That's right. So that is... You know, 00:31:20.41\00:31:22.61 when you think - I think it's Revelation 22- 00:31:22.81\00:31:25.88 that says all will see His face in the New Jerusalem. 00:31:27.02\00:31:32.99 I don't know about you, but I can't wait 00:31:33.19\00:31:35.19 for face-to-face communication with the Lord. 00:31:35.39\00:31:39.03 So when the New Jerusalem comes down to earth 00:31:39.43\00:31:42.40 we're going to have not only our home in the city 00:31:42.60\00:31:46.87 but Isaiah says we're going to go out and we're going to build 00:31:47.07\00:31:49.97 places. We'll have a country home; we'll have a city home. 00:31:50.17\00:31:53.14 We'll be coming in to the New Jerusalem 00:31:53.34\00:31:55.48 every Sabbath - any time you want - with absolute access 00:31:55.68\00:31:59.58 to God. But every Sabbath 00:31:59.78\00:32:02.32 we're going to have the most incredible worship service 00:32:02.52\00:32:07.82 in the New Jerusalem. That's right. 00:32:08.02\00:32:10.26 You know, she just... That verse that we just read 00:32:10.46\00:32:13.23 in Isaiah 66 clearly tells us that we will be keeping Sabbath 00:32:13.43\00:32:17.90 in heaven. I have run across a lot of Christians 00:32:18.10\00:32:21.17 who say: "You know what? I have no problem keeping 00:32:21.37\00:32:23.67 Sabbath in heaven. I just don't have to keep it 00:32:23.87\00:32:25.21 right now on earth. " We run into this quite often. 00:32:25.24\00:32:28.51 But the passage that comes to my mind that I love to bring up 00:32:28.71\00:32:31.11 and it's so simple and that's The Lord's Prayer. 00:32:31.31\00:32:33.62 When they asked Him "Lord, teach us how to pray" 00:32:34.45\00:32:36.28 what did He say? Yeah. They even made a song to it. 00:32:36.48\00:32:40.06 "Our Father, which art in heaven, 00:32:40.26\00:32:42.29 hallowed be Thy name. " 00:32:42.49\00:32:44.39 Now this next part: "Thy kingdom come; 00:32:44.59\00:32:46.90 Thy will be done... " Where? 00:32:47.10\00:32:49.20 "On earth as it is in heaven. " 00:32:49.50\00:32:53.54 So we should be keeping it now 00:32:53.74\00:32:55.67 as we will and as they are keeping it in heaven. 00:32:55.87\00:32:59.37 I'll be glad when I get to heaven 'cause I'll be able 00:32:59.57\00:33:01.54 to sing. I like that. 00:33:01.74\00:33:06.35 Here's a confirmation scripture 00:33:07.32\00:33:08.72 that it's going to be kept in heaven. 00:33:08.92\00:33:10.35 I Chronicles 17:27. 00:33:10.55\00:33:12.32 "For You have blessed it, O Lord, 00:33:12.72\00:33:14.32 and it shall be blessed forever. " 00:33:14.52\00:33:16.73 There's nothing wrong with the Sabbath. 00:33:17.73\00:33:19.06 It was blessed in perfection; it will not be eliminated 00:33:19.23\00:33:22.86 in perfection. It was blessed in a perfect environment; 00:33:23.06\00:33:25.83 it will not be deleted in the next perfect environment. 00:33:26.03\00:33:29.47 OK... next question: Is it important 00:33:31.51\00:33:35.41 to attend church services? 00:33:35.61\00:33:38.25 Is it important to attend church services? 00:33:38.75\00:33:41.68 Hebrews 7:25. 00:33:42.95\00:33:44.75 No.. not 7 is it? Wow! 00:33:45.15\00:33:47.82 See, as young folks see what we would do is we would think 00:33:48.02\00:33:50.46 a hashtag and put goals by that. 00:33:50.66\00:33:52.79 See, you just knew Hebrews 7:25! 00:33:52.99\00:33:57.00 Hashtag goals. "Forsaking not the assembling of ourselves 00:33:57.20\00:34:00.30 together as the manner of some is 00:34:00.50\00:34:02.20 but all the more... " That's right. 00:34:02.40\00:34:06.24 Don't forsake the assembling. Now Hebrews 7:25 is 00:34:06.44\00:34:08.68 "He is able to save to the uttermost. " 00:34:08.88\00:34:11.45 It's not... Yeah, it's not 7:25. 00:34:11.65\00:34:15.58 No? It's good to be... Anyway, it's Hebrews 10:25. 00:34:15.78\00:34:21.32 10:25. Hebrews 10:25. 00:34:21.52\00:34:23.43 OK, go ahead and read it. 00:34:23.63\00:34:25.73 Oh, oh. Well you quoted it right just had the reference wrong. 00:34:25.93\00:34:30.43 OK. Praise God for that. 00:34:30.63\00:34:32.23 Encouragement is the word. 00:34:34.97\00:34:36.50 Are you going to read it? Don't all jump in at once. 00:34:38.01\00:34:41.64 I think we're trying to be kind to each other here. 00:34:41.84\00:34:43.95 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together 00:34:44.35\00:34:47.68 as is the manner of some but exhort one another 00:34:47.88\00:34:52.99 and so much more as you see the day coming. " 00:34:53.19\00:34:56.76 You know, the reason that... Well, first of all 00:34:57.06\00:35:00.26 why do we go to church? 00:35:00.66\00:35:03.00 Why do we go to church? To worship God. 00:35:04.30\00:35:07.04 If we don't... I ask audiences sometimes 00:35:07.24\00:35:10.64 and people will say: "Oh, to hear the Word. " 00:35:10.84\00:35:13.61 "To fellowship. " 00:35:13.81\00:35:15.68 If we're not going to church to worship the Lord, 00:35:16.28\00:35:20.28 we're not going to church for the right reason. 00:35:20.48\00:35:22.55 We should be going to worship. 00:35:23.05\00:35:25.65 But there is something about corporate worship and the 00:35:25.85\00:35:29.36 fellowship that when we get together... 00:35:29.56\00:35:32.89 You know, Peter said that the devil is "like a roaring lion 00:35:33.09\00:35:38.47 seeking whom he may devour. " 00:35:38.67\00:35:41.17 When we were in South Africa we saw a lion 00:35:41.90\00:35:45.94 single out its prey. 00:35:46.14\00:35:49.08 And what they do is if there's one that's not 00:35:49.48\00:35:53.62 quite with the herd then the lions start circling it. 00:35:53.82\00:35:58.25 And they get them isolated and that's when they take them down. 00:35:58.45\00:36:02.59 The reason we should be going to church 00:36:02.79\00:36:05.39 is because it buoys our faith. 00:36:05.59\00:36:09.00 It builds us up. 00:36:09.20\00:36:11.30 We go and worship with others, and you can maybe be having 00:36:11.50\00:36:14.80 a down day. Somebody else can pray with you. 00:36:15.00\00:36:17.87 But when you let Satan isolate you 00:36:18.07\00:36:22.94 and keep you away from church 00:36:23.14\00:36:25.15 watch out, 'cause your enemy is like a roaring lion 00:36:25.35\00:36:30.72 seeking whom he may devour. 00:36:30.92\00:36:32.55 We've got two things: diaconia - which is a teaching; 00:36:32.75\00:36:35.16 and koinonia - which is a fellowship. 00:36:35.36\00:36:36.69 You need them both. If you're in a church 00:36:36.73\00:36:38.23 that's all teaching and no fellowship, 00:36:38.43\00:36:39.76 it's kind of dry. If you're in a church that's all fellowship 00:36:39.96\00:36:42.40 and no teaching, it's kind of dry. 00:36:42.60\00:36:47.04 That's right. 00:36:47.24\00:36:48.57 You need them both. 00:36:48.60\00:36:49.94 You need Spirit and truth. 00:36:49.97\00:36:51.57 Absolutely. I just want to add to that 00:36:52.07\00:36:54.28 go back to our previous point we made earlier. 00:36:54.44\00:36:56.75 On earth as it is in heaven. 00:36:57.15\00:36:59.45 We just read a text that says "from one Sabbath to another 00:36:59.65\00:37:03.12 all flesh will come and worship before Me 00:37:03.72\00:37:07.82 saith the Lord. " So we're going to be coming 00:37:08.02\00:37:09.92 before God and worshiping Him in heaven. 00:37:10.13\00:37:11.99 And we should now. Why wouldn't we? 00:37:12.19\00:37:14.86 In Revelation 4:8 we should take an example from the angels. 00:37:15.06\00:37:17.93 You know, this is not a good question for me 00:37:18.53\00:37:20.17 because I have a soapbox. People don't see it, 00:37:20.37\00:37:22.60 but I have it. 00:37:22.80\00:37:24.37 I just don't know why people don't like to come to church. 00:37:24.57\00:37:26.84 And I used to think it was me but it's not. 00:37:27.34\00:37:29.91 Because Elder Brooks said: "Sun melts butter and hardens clay. " 00:37:30.11\00:37:34.35 It's the condition of the human heart. 00:37:34.75\00:37:36.55 I have taken off of my shoulder 00:37:37.25\00:37:40.06 the burden that it's maybe what I said. 00:37:40.26\00:37:43.32 You know, somebody once said to me... I remember 00:37:43.53\00:37:45.46 as a matter of fact it was Mike Tucker. 00:37:45.66\00:37:47.20 We were down in Texas at the pastor's meetings 00:37:47.40\00:37:49.66 in 2015, and he said to me: 00:37:49.86\00:37:52.57 "John, are you staying out of trouble? " 00:37:52.77\00:37:54.24 I said: "No... why should I? " 00:37:54.44\00:37:55.77 And he said.. I said: "Well the disciples 00:37:56.10\00:37:58.31 were always in trouble; Jesus was always in trouble. " 00:37:58.51\00:38:00.74 And He said that If you live a righteous life, 00:38:00.94\00:38:03.68 you will suffer persecution so why should I? 00:38:03.88\00:38:05.48 And he said: "I like that! I'm going to preach that 00:38:05.68\00:38:07.15 from now on. " And here's the point: 00:38:07.35\00:38:09.22 when you don't have a love that has to do more 00:38:09.62\00:38:15.02 than with just a few hours in the day... 00:38:15.22\00:38:17.16 The Sabbath is a day of fellowship. 00:38:17.36\00:38:19.89 It's not a day of visitation; it's a day of fellowship. 00:38:20.30\00:38:23.63 And sometimes we have the idea... 00:38:23.83\00:38:25.87 It's amazing to me that Catholicism is pushing for the 00:38:26.07\00:38:29.00 whole day of Sunday to be holy 00:38:29.20\00:38:31.27 and we find Adventists that are pushing for less of the day 00:38:31.47\00:38:33.94 to be observed as holy. 00:38:34.14\00:38:35.48 What better place should it be found among those except 00:38:35.58\00:38:39.61 who say they keep the Sabbath? 00:38:39.81\00:38:41.38 We should show the world how it should be kept. 00:38:41.58\00:38:43.72 And the angels in Revelation 4:8 there's a text here: 00:38:44.12\00:38:46.96 "The four living creatures each having six wings 00:38:47.16\00:38:49.62 were full of eyes around and within. " 00:38:49.82\00:38:51.56 And listen to this: "And they do not rest day nor night. " 00:38:51.76\00:38:54.60 The word there rest is the day for Sabbath. 00:38:54.80\00:38:56.97 They do not rest day nor night 00:38:57.90\00:38:59.73 but what are they doing? They're worshiping God all the time. 00:38:59.93\00:39:01.80 If you don't worship God during the week, 00:39:02.20\00:39:03.81 then Sabbath is not going to be a substitute for what you 00:39:04.01\00:39:06.41 don't do other days. Um-hmm. 00:39:06.61\00:39:08.18 Now, you're married. Correct? Right? That's right. 00:39:08.58\00:39:11.91 Shelley, you're married. Pastor Murray, you're married. 00:39:12.11\00:39:14.42 Pastor Lomacang, you're married. 00:39:14.62\00:39:16.25 And Bruce, you're married, too. Correct? 00:39:16.65\00:39:19.09 That's correct. Are you? No, I feel singled out. 00:39:19.29\00:39:22.22 Now.. will there be marriage in heaven? 00:39:26.09\00:39:29.80 YES! 00:39:31.13\00:39:32.50 Amen. 00:39:32.90\00:39:34.84 Yes. Now, can I add 00:39:35.04\00:39:37.87 you know, God is not going to say to Angie 00:39:38.07\00:39:40.18 "Drop John when you get to heaven. " 00:39:40.38\00:39:42.41 Praise God, 'cause my wife and I have a saying 00:39:43.24\00:39:46.68 "Together forever... eternity in view. " 00:39:46.88\00:39:51.22 Marriage was instituted before sin entered the world 00:39:52.15\00:39:55.12 just like the Sabbath. 00:39:55.32\00:39:56.66 And since the Sabbath is eternal so is marriage. 00:39:56.73\00:39:59.13 We get mixed up. We're going to go to heaven for 1,000 years. 00:39:59.53\00:40:02.06 There won't be weddings there. You know why? 00:40:02.26\00:40:03.97 We're going to heaven to address the final stage 00:40:04.17\00:40:06.57 in the eradication of sin. 00:40:06.77\00:40:08.44 God is not going to say: "Sorry, C.A. 00:40:09.50\00:40:12.57 Irma don't want you any more. " 00:40:12.97\00:40:15.18 No... there won't be weddings performed in heaven. 00:40:15.58\00:40:18.11 That's what's being said. 00:40:18.31\00:40:19.65 And I won't be giving... If you ever go there, 00:40:19.68\00:40:21.05 you won't be saying to somebody: "You want to marry my 00:40:21.25\00:40:22.68 daughter? " Not during the thousand years in heaven. 00:40:22.88\00:40:24.79 Marriage will not be annulled in heaven 00:40:25.19\00:40:28.72 any more than the Sabbath. 00:40:28.92\00:40:30.33 Wow! I'd better get married before I go, then. 00:40:30.53\00:40:32.56 He got it. He heard you, Pastor. 00:40:35.46\00:40:37.07 You had something, Ryan? 00:40:38.63\00:40:39.97 Yeah, I just... I like Pastor Doug's response to this. 00:40:40.17\00:40:43.30 He says: "I can't picture Jesus handing out 00:40:43.51\00:40:46.68 divorce slips as we're walking through the pearly gates - 00:40:46.88\00:40:49.38 you know - to all of the couples. " 00:40:49.58\00:40:50.91 You know, and I can't see that either. 00:40:51.01\00:40:52.41 I got back to the idea that we are told 00:40:52.81\00:40:56.92 in inspiration and even in the Bible that 00:40:57.12\00:40:58.85 just as God began the scripture as we see there 00:40:59.05\00:41:01.82 where God creates a beautiful, perfect atmosphere 00:41:02.02\00:41:04.19 before sin ever entered the picture 00:41:04.39\00:41:06.19 what did God establish in the Garden of Eden? Two things: 00:41:06.39\00:41:08.43 marriage and the Sabbath. 00:41:08.63\00:41:10.20 So I don't see any evidence where we see that God is 00:41:10.40\00:41:14.44 going to reverse that or get rid of it. 00:41:14.64\00:41:16.10 I think that it's going to continue on, and I'm going to 00:41:16.30\00:41:18.37 look forward to living with my sweetheart in my mansion. 00:41:18.57\00:41:20.78 You just want some points! 00:41:21.14\00:41:24.31 Well technically we'll have two mansions, so we'll just 00:41:26.35\00:41:28.68 go back and forth, right? 00:41:28.88\00:41:30.22 She'll have a mansion; I'll have a mansion. 00:41:30.25\00:41:31.99 We'll go back and forth at the same time. 00:41:32.19\00:41:34.02 Right, the same time. 00:41:34.22\00:41:35.82 OK. All marriages in heaven will be happy marriages. 00:41:36.02\00:41:40.00 Amen... Amen. That's right, brother. That's right. 00:41:40.20\00:41:42.70 Sometimes some of us are bur- dened with an unhappy marriage. 00:41:42.90\00:41:45.53 Not myself. But... when you get to heaven 00:41:45.73\00:41:48.84 your marriage will be happy. 00:41:49.04\00:41:51.47 That's right. You'll be having a wonderful marriage. 00:41:51.67\00:41:53.44 OK. Who is Michael? 00:41:53.94\00:41:56.31 Is He Christ? 00:41:56.71\00:41:58.58 Prove it from the Bible. 00:41:59.28\00:42:01.15 OK. Who is Michael? Is He Christ? 00:42:01.35\00:42:05.95 Prove it from the Bible. 00:42:06.35\00:42:07.69 Text and verse. Yeah. 00:42:07.79\00:42:09.49 I would like to start in Exodus 00:42:10.43\00:42:15.50 chapter 3 00:42:15.70\00:42:17.60 if I can get there. 00:42:20.14\00:42:21.50 In Exodus chapter 3 we see a conversation 00:42:25.71\00:42:29.11 happening between Moses and this 00:42:29.31\00:42:32.25 what appears to be... it says an angel of the Lord 00:42:32.45\00:42:35.12 but we are told later that it is none other than God Himself 00:42:35.32\00:42:37.65 speaking from this bush. 00:42:37.85\00:42:39.19 And of course in this same passage, and I'm trying to find 00:42:39.32\00:42:42.09 the specific verse, but if you look here in chapter 3 00:42:42.29\00:42:44.96 the person speaking from the bush tells Moses 00:42:45.16\00:42:49.26 "Take off your sandals for where you are standing 00:42:49.46\00:42:53.13 is holy ground. " And we know that the presence 00:42:53.34\00:42:56.34 of God makes that holy ground. We know that he was speaking 00:42:56.54\00:42:59.84 to God. I'm trying to find that specific verse here. 00:43:00.04\00:43:02.88 Let's see if I can... Yeah, right here, verse 5: 00:43:03.18\00:43:05.65 "And He said: 'Do not draw near to this place; 00:43:05.85\00:43:07.68 take off the sandals from your feet 00:43:07.88\00:43:10.59 for the place where you stand is holy ground. ' " 00:43:10.79\00:43:12.95 We find the same thing happening in Joshua chapter 5. 00:43:13.15\00:43:16.83 If you go to Joshua chapter 5 00:43:17.33\00:43:19.19 and you said to prove it from the Bible 00:43:19.39\00:43:20.73 so I'm going to give my take on it. 00:43:20.86\00:43:22.20 And then Pastors, feel free to - and Shelley, feel free - 00:43:22.36\00:43:25.00 to jump in here. Joshua chapter 5 00:43:25.20\00:43:27.50 we have an interesting scene happening 00:43:27.70\00:43:29.44 between Joshua and this interesting character 00:43:29.64\00:43:32.91 that shows up with his sword drawn. 00:43:33.11\00:43:35.88 And he tells him... let me see if I can find it here... 00:43:36.08\00:43:38.38 While he's looking for it - I say that respectfully - 00:43:42.35\00:43:45.92 while he's looking for it, if you find 3 confirming scriptures 00:43:46.12\00:43:50.69 in the Bible that are unequivocal. 00:43:50.89\00:43:53.60 Who else can stand in behalf of His people 00:43:53.80\00:43:56.97 during the time of trouble other than Christ? 00:43:57.17\00:43:59.27 "At that time shall Michael stand up, 00:44:00.40\00:44:03.14 the great Prince which stands for the children of Thy people, 00:44:03.34\00:44:07.78 and there shall be a time of trouble. " 00:44:07.98\00:44:09.84 Michael there in the Hebrew as well as in the Greek 00:44:10.05\00:44:13.31 means "One who is like God. " 00:44:13.52\00:44:15.95 And there is no one else. Another one: Jude. 00:44:16.35\00:44:19.29 "Yet Michael, the archangel, in contending with the devil... " 00:44:19.49\00:44:23.19 Who can contend over the body of Moses 00:44:23.39\00:44:25.66 other than the One who owns the body of Moses? 00:44:25.86\00:44:28.20 And then Revelation: "Michael and His angels 00:44:28.83\00:44:32.13 fought with the dragon and the dragon and his angels 00:44:32.33\00:44:34.10 fought. " Who could fight against the devil 00:44:34.30\00:44:36.57 other than Christ? 00:44:36.97\00:44:38.61 And then the voice of the archangel. 00:44:39.01\00:44:42.74 Who is that? "The Lord Himself 00:44:42.94\00:44:45.98 shall descend from heaven with a shout... 00:44:46.18\00:44:49.65 with the voice of the archangel. " 00:44:49.85\00:44:52.12 That's right. The One who is above the angels. 00:44:52.32\00:44:54.59 That is Christ and His name is Michael. 00:44:54.99\00:44:56.76 Daniel 10 and I'm at verse 13 00:44:59.09\00:45:02.70 about half-way through. The Bible says: 00:45:02.90\00:45:05.10 "Michael... One who is like God. " 00:45:05.30\00:45:07.34 And that means One who exercises the same authority 00:45:07.54\00:45:10.31 as God. The one thing we know about Michael 00:45:10.51\00:45:13.07 in Revelation 19 when John fell to worship 00:45:13.27\00:45:17.58 that being the angel said: "See that thou do it not. " 00:45:17.78\00:45:20.75 Because angels don't accept worship. 00:45:20.95\00:45:23.45 The only One that is worthy to be worshiped, 00:45:23.65\00:45:25.45 the only One who accepts worship is Michael. 00:45:25.65\00:45:28.39 So that says that He is a being to be worshiped. 00:45:28.59\00:45:31.09 That means He is God. Amen. That's right. 00:45:31.29\00:45:33.63 You found that? Well, I was just going to make the connection 00:45:33.83\00:45:35.53 right here in Joshua chapter 5 00:45:35.80\00:45:37.47 where in the latter verses - verses 13 through 15- 00:45:37.67\00:45:40.40 we see that Joshua is having this encounter with 00:45:40.60\00:45:43.44 this individual who identifies Himself as the Commander 00:45:43.64\00:45:47.01 of the army of the Lord. So we know that Michael 00:45:47.21\00:45:49.78 the archangel... archangel in the original Greek 00:45:49.98\00:45:52.65 is simply the word archangelos which simply means 00:45:52.85\00:45:55.75 chief of the angels. So He's not a normal angel. 00:45:55.95\00:45:58.95 The original word for angel is angelos, which is 00:45:59.15\00:46:01.32 just simply messenger. But the chief of the messengers, 00:46:01.52\00:46:04.33 the chief of the angels, is Michael. 00:46:04.49\00:46:06.76 Now in Exodus 3 this same individual that says: 00:46:06.96\00:46:10.03 "Take off your sandals for where you stand is holy ground" 00:46:10.23\00:46:12.30 this same individual refers to Himself at the Great I AM. 00:46:12.50\00:46:16.20 "Who do I tell them that You are? " 00:46:16.40\00:46:18.37 "I am that I AM. " This same character in Joshua 00:46:18.57\00:46:22.24 tells Joshua to take off his sandals for where he stands 00:46:22.44\00:46:26.11 is holy ground. So this is no normal angel. 00:46:26.31\00:46:28.52 This is a holy individual. And we know that Christ 00:46:28.72\00:46:31.75 I believe it's John chapter 8 or John chapter 10 00:46:31.95\00:46:34.62 where He refers to Himself as the "I AM. " 00:46:34.82\00:46:36.96 He says: "Before Abraham was, I AM. " 00:46:37.16\00:46:39.63 And of course, as pastor brought out, 00:46:39.83\00:46:41.20 we are told in I Thessalonians chapter 4 I believe it is 00:46:41.40\00:46:44.63 that Christ is coming back with the voice of the archangel. 00:46:44.83\00:46:48.20 So there's no doubt that He is Michael the archangel. 00:46:48.40\00:46:50.34 And in the Hebrew the term I AM used in the present tense 00:46:50.54\00:46:52.77 like that is an indication that the person speaking 00:46:52.97\00:46:55.54 is calling Himself or naming Himself God. 00:46:55.74\00:46:58.08 We know that the angel of the covenant 00:46:58.28\00:47:00.92 in Exodus was Christ Jesus Himself. 00:47:01.12\00:47:05.39 See, we get... I think we get confused 00:47:05.79\00:47:08.32 because we think of angel as being a created being. 00:47:08.52\00:47:11.93 And the ministering spirits are created beings. 00:47:12.13\00:47:14.90 That's right. But angel means messenger. 00:47:15.10\00:47:16.97 I mean the angels are messengers of God. 00:47:17.17\00:47:19.20 And we're not the only, by the way... We're not the only 00:47:19.60\00:47:23.14 denomination or church that believes that Michael 00:47:23.34\00:47:27.34 is Jesus Christ. There's many many Bible scholars 00:47:27.54\00:47:32.48 who agree on that. Well I think you guys gave ample 00:47:32.68\00:47:35.48 Biblical proof - Amen - in answer to that question. 00:47:35.68\00:47:39.59 So this one is a two-part question. 00:47:40.56\00:47:43.49 Is it true we are saved by grace 00:47:43.89\00:47:46.43 but works is mixed in there somewhere? 00:47:46.63\00:47:48.73 So if we are saved by grace, 00:47:49.13\00:47:51.30 are we judged by our works? 00:47:51.50\00:47:53.54 Ephesians 2:8-10 says that we are saved by grace 00:47:53.94\00:47:58.27 through faith... NOT by works that we should boast. 00:47:58.47\00:48:01.24 And then 10 backs it right up, yes. 00:48:01.64\00:48:04.78 We are created for the good works that God prepared 00:48:04.98\00:48:08.22 in advance for us to do. 00:48:08.42\00:48:09.95 In Romans 6:16 00:48:10.95\00:48:14.52 the Bible says, or Paul says that 00:48:15.12\00:48:18.73 we are slaves to whom we obey. 00:48:18.93\00:48:23.67 We're either slaves to righteousness 00:48:23.87\00:48:26.43 or we're slaves of sin. 00:48:26.84\00:48:30.14 In I John 2:3-4 00:48:30.87\00:48:34.74 it says that if anyone says 00:48:35.14\00:48:38.48 he knows Him - he knows Jesus Christ - 00:48:38.68\00:48:41.62 yet does not keep the commandments 00:48:41.82\00:48:44.35 he is a liar and the truth is not in him. 00:48:44.55\00:48:47.92 Hebrews 5:9 says that Jesus Christ is the author 00:48:48.32\00:48:53.73 of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. 00:48:53.93\00:48:58.37 So when you think about... You know, people get so 00:48:58.77\00:49:02.34 upset when we talk about obedience 00:49:02.54\00:49:05.94 but obedience is by grace 00:49:06.14\00:49:07.74 because Philippians 2:12-13 says 00:49:07.94\00:49:11.15 He works in us. It is God who works in us 00:49:11.35\00:49:14.72 to will and to do His good pleasure. 00:49:14.92\00:49:18.05 So we are saved... 00:49:18.62\00:49:21.89 Salvation belongs to God alone. 00:49:22.29\00:49:25.26 Um-hmm. But the Bible says that our rewards 00:49:25.46\00:49:29.53 will follow them. Yes, we are going to have our rewards 00:49:29.73\00:49:34.24 because of our obedience. We don't obey to be saved; 00:49:34.44\00:49:39.31 we obey because we ARE saved. 00:49:39.51\00:49:42.91 And one more point: the Ten Commandments 00:49:43.31\00:49:46.11 in Exodus chapter 20 00:49:46.31\00:49:48.62 are written in the future tense. 00:49:49.02\00:49:51.39 That means they were promises. 00:49:52.25\00:49:54.59 God is saying to us that if we're in covenant relationship 00:49:55.12\00:50:00.53 with Him we're not going to have any gods before Him; 00:50:00.73\00:50:04.03 we're not going to bow down to idols; 00:50:04.23\00:50:06.74 we're not going to take His name; we're going to be so 00:50:06.94\00:50:09.20 excited to worship on the Sabbath with Him. 00:50:09.40\00:50:12.41 We will honor our parents. 00:50:12.61\00:50:16.18 We won't commit murder, adultery. 00:50:16.38\00:50:17.85 We won't steal; we won't bear false testimony. 00:50:18.05\00:50:20.62 We won't covet. Why? 00:50:20.82\00:50:23.05 Because that's what living in covenant relationship with Him 00:50:23.25\00:50:27.49 is all about. He came to save us from our sin. 00:50:27.69\00:50:33.23 That's right for sure. Works is not what gets us saved, 00:50:33.53\00:50:39.50 works is what shows up when we are saved. 00:50:39.90\00:50:42.84 That's right. It's the evidence of our salvation 00:50:43.04\00:50:46.37 not the method of our salvation. 00:50:46.57\00:50:48.51 I used to think I had to keep the commandments. 00:50:49.01\00:50:52.81 Now I feel I GET to keep the commandments. 00:50:53.31\00:50:57.29 I don't have to... I get to. They're a privilege. 00:50:57.79\00:51:00.86 A privilege to keep the commandments. 00:51:01.06\00:51:03.39 That's right. And forgiveness is available when I mess up. 00:51:03.59\00:51:07.36 All right, panel: How do you know God's will for your life? 00:51:08.36\00:51:12.43 How do you know God's will for your life? 00:51:13.54\00:51:16.04 I don't need to know God's will for my life. 00:51:17.41\00:51:20.51 That's one of the things that... Go to Philippians. 00:51:20.91\00:51:25.75 Go to Philippians with me. 00:51:26.15\00:51:27.48 I don't need to know God's will for my life. 00:51:27.58\00:51:28.92 That's one of the questions we ask when in fact we couldn't 00:51:29.08\00:51:31.59 even accomplish God's will if we knew it. 00:51:31.79\00:51:33.86 How many of you could accomplish it? 00:51:34.96\00:51:36.93 "For it is God who works in us 00:51:37.79\00:51:41.60 both too will and to do of His good pleasure. " 00:51:42.00\00:51:46.57 Paul made it very clear. 00:51:46.77\00:51:48.10 Some people use that almost as a hindrance to doing anything. 00:51:48.14\00:51:52.74 "I wonder what God's will for my life is? " 00:51:52.94\00:51:55.11 Get up and do something 00:51:55.71\00:51:57.38 and God will work out His will in your life. 00:51:57.78\00:52:00.02 You can't say: "I wonder which way to go" 00:52:00.22\00:52:01.85 and you're sitting in your car without the engine turning on. 00:52:02.05\00:52:03.89 The will of God is appointed... 00:52:04.82\00:52:06.62 Let's just go ahead and make it clear here. 00:52:07.02\00:52:08.72 In Philippians - here I am - 00:52:08.92\00:52:10.99 2... Look at this: Philippians 2:12. 00:52:11.19\00:52:13.73 "Therefore my beloved: as you have always obeyed 00:52:14.56\00:52:18.43 not only in my presence only but much more in my absence 00:52:18.63\00:52:21.30 work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. " 00:52:21.50\00:52:24.04 That's often what people see. 00:52:24.24\00:52:25.71 Verse 13: "For it is God who works in you 00:52:25.91\00:52:28.44 both too will and to do of His good pleasure. " 00:52:28.64\00:52:32.51 We cannot do God's will. 00:52:32.91\00:52:34.52 God does His will through us. That's right. 00:52:34.92\00:52:37.09 We are the vessel out of which He works. 00:52:37.29\00:52:39.02 We don't work to become His vessel... 00:52:39.22\00:52:41.26 we become His vessel and He works through us. 00:52:41.46\00:52:44.33 Ooh... but I do have a scripture. 00:52:44.53\00:52:46.36 I Thessalonians 4 verse 3 says: 00:52:46.56\00:52:49.73 "This is the will of God 00:52:49.93\00:52:53.10 for your life, and that is your sanctification. " 00:52:53.30\00:52:59.14 See, we are justified by the blood of Jesus Christ, right? 00:52:59.54\00:53:05.41 We're forgiven of those past sins. 00:53:05.61\00:53:07.58 But God's will for our life 00:53:07.78\00:53:10.75 is that we walk just as Jesus walked 00:53:10.95\00:53:16.09 on the earth, that we walk in the narrow path. 00:53:16.29\00:53:20.30 That we walk in the path of His life 00:53:20.50\00:53:24.50 where we will see pleasures at His right hand forever more. 00:53:24.70\00:53:29.20 So God's will for our life 00:53:29.67\00:53:32.54 is simply that we yield to the Holy Spirit 00:53:32.74\00:53:37.11 and He will work in us to will and to do 00:53:37.31\00:53:41.05 His good pleasure and Philippians 1:6 says 00:53:41.25\00:53:45.62 that He will complete the good work He's begun. 00:53:45.82\00:53:48.29 Amen. OK, now we only have a few minutes left 00:53:48.49\00:53:52.59 so we have to get through these next couple questions 00:53:52.79\00:53:55.00 rather quickly. One person said: I am 00:53:55.20\00:53:59.37 anxious all the time. Can I really trust in Jesus? 00:53:59.57\00:54:03.04 II Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 16. 00:54:07.58\00:54:10.71 Paul writes these beautiful doctrinal theses 00:54:10.91\00:54:14.28 but he couches them in some poetic language 00:54:14.48\00:54:16.89 all through the book of I Thessalonians. 00:54:17.09\00:54:18.89 "Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself 00:54:19.09\00:54:21.29 and our God and Father 00:54:21.49\00:54:22.82 who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation. " 00:54:22.86\00:54:27.46 Which are two words I just love. 00:54:27.66\00:54:29.00 We can have everlasting consolation 00:54:29.06\00:54:32.43 "and good hope by grace comfort your heart 00:54:32.63\00:54:36.81 and establish you in every good word and work. " 00:54:37.01\00:54:40.81 So consolation is promised. 00:54:41.01\00:54:44.08 Comfort is promised. 00:54:44.28\00:54:46.35 A settling in and establishment is promised. 00:54:46.55\00:54:49.28 Good words, good works follow from that. 00:54:49.68\00:54:53.29 So be anxious for nothing. 00:54:53.49\00:54:55.86 He wants to establish you, to comfort you, 00:54:56.06\00:54:59.33 and to console you even in troublous times. 00:54:59.53\00:55:02.63 Amen! What do you have, Ryan? 00:55:02.83\00:55:04.40 Yeah, Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6. 00:55:04.60\00:55:06.70 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart 00:55:07.10\00:55:09.64 and lean not on your own understanding; 00:55:09.84\00:55:12.01 In all your ways acknowledge Him 00:55:12.21\00:55:14.24 and He shall direct your path. " 00:55:14.44\00:55:16.78 A person who's anxious perhaps may be suffering from anxiety 00:55:16.98\00:55:19.85 or whatever that might be. 00:55:20.05\00:55:21.38 You know, God just wants us to trust Him. 00:55:21.58\00:55:23.15 I think that's what this entire book is about. Amen! 00:55:23.35\00:55:25.69 From cover to cover God is pleading 00:55:25.89\00:55:28.42 with His children - with His creation - 00:55:28.62\00:55:30.56 to trust Him. I think if we do that 00:55:30.76\00:55:33.40 while the devil may throw his fiery darts at us 00:55:33.80\00:55:36.40 we know that God is in control. 00:55:36.60\00:55:38.63 And Isaiah 26:3 says: 00:55:39.03\00:55:42.94 "You will keep him in perfect peace 00:55:43.24\00:55:47.21 whose mind is stayed on You 00:55:47.61\00:55:50.81 because he trusts in You. " 00:55:51.21\00:55:53.58 So as we... When I feel myself getting anxious 00:55:53.78\00:55:57.55 I realize I've got my eyes on the problem 00:55:57.75\00:56:01.29 not on the Problem Solver. 00:56:01.49\00:56:03.09 Amen. So I return... You know, I often say: 00:56:03.29\00:56:05.36 "Lord, help me keep my eyes focused on You. 00:56:05.56\00:56:07.83 Increase my trust, Lord. 00:56:08.03\00:56:10.27 Let me not lean on my own understanding. " 00:56:10.47\00:56:12.63 And you know, He will bring that peace that transcends 00:56:13.13\00:56:16.81 all understanding. We've got about a minute left. 00:56:17.01\00:56:20.11 If you can't trust God, who can you trust? 00:56:20.31\00:56:23.48 Amen! And you know what? I think that God has given us 00:56:23.68\00:56:26.51 ample proof in His Word of why we should trust Him. 00:56:26.72\00:56:30.45 That's right. You know, Jesus came and died on the cross 00:56:30.65\00:56:33.15 for our sins. While we were yet sinners 00:56:33.36\00:56:36.02 He came and died for us. 00:56:36.22\00:56:38.13 And He is the same today, yesterday, and forever 00:56:38.33\00:56:42.03 so we know that what we see here is the way He still is. 00:56:42.23\00:56:45.90 Amen! The answers the panel provided tonight 00:56:46.10\00:56:48.20 shows we can trust God. 00:56:48.40\00:56:49.74 God's Word shows we can trust Him. 00:56:49.77\00:56:51.67 Absolutely... absolutely. 00:56:51.87\00:56:53.54 Man, I wish we had more time because, you know, 00:56:53.74\00:56:56.34 what I would love to ask you guys, all of you that speak: 00:56:56.54\00:57:00.05 "How do you prepare your sermons? " 00:57:00.25\00:57:02.28 Well, maybe we can ask that at another time 00:57:02.88\00:57:06.09 'cause I think that's a deep question that's going to require 00:57:06.29\00:57:08.36 quite a while to answer. Here's the answer: 00:57:08.56\00:57:11.66 we just trust God. There you go! 00:57:11.86\00:57:13.76 All right... well, there's the CliffNotes. 00:57:14.76\00:57:17.63 That's right... that's very good. 00:57:18.90\00:57:21.30 Well, thank you guys so much for answering these Bible questions. 00:57:21.50\00:57:24.97 And I hope that everybody's questions were answered. 00:57:25.17\00:57:27.64 And we are in store for a blessing with Pastor Ty Gibson. 00:57:27.84\00:57:31.21
