So why do you think I should come to your program? And I said, I 00:11:56.68\00:12:03.72 don't think you should come to my program. I think you should pray about it. And wherever 00:12:03.72\00:12:11.13 Jesus leads you to go, that's what you should go. But regardless of your choice. 00:12:11.13\00:12:19.67 Always be here to support you. You walk with Jesus. She later on told me that she joined the 00:12:19.67\00:12:26.88 program because of that conversation. And that she respected. That was willing to 00:12:26.88\00:12:36.28 honor her own personal experience with Jesus. And that no matter what ministry she 00:12:36.28\00:12:43.36 joined, I would rejoice because she was moving forward. The Kingdom of heaven. Many, many 00:12:43.36\00:12:48.56 years later, I had the privilege. Of officiating at her wedding. Of running mission 00:12:48.56\00:12:57.11 projects all over the world. And I'm 00:21:22.91\00:21:29.95 really excited to share this message. Let's dive in, shall we? So before I ask you to 00:21:29.95\00:21:36.76 open your bibles with me, I want to give you a little bit of context. I'm someone who I 00:21:36.76\00:21:42.06 like to know what to expect. Maybe you're not like that. And if you want to surprise, 00:21:42.06\00:21:46.37 plug your ears. I'll tell you when you can come back. But I like know what to expect when 00:21:46.37\00:21:52.11 I go different here, different kinds of messages. So want to let you know, we'll be doing 00:21:52.11\00:21:56.64 together the next few mornings. But first, some context. So came 00:21:56.64\00:22:07.66 to G Wifey 11 years ago. My slides here for a second. I came here to I see 11 years ago and 00:22:07.66\00:22:22.77 that's when I became a Christian. Something haven't test or otherwise. I grew up in 00:22:22.77\00:22:29.41 a something of an this home. I grew up with Godly parents and I went to church. But it was 00:22:29.41\00:22:33.31 something I did. Because it's what you do. Not because something that resonated with 00:22:33.31\00:22:41.09 right believed and it was several months in the making. You know, those long decisions 00:22:41.09\00:22:44.43 where different people talk to you and if people asked her questions, but I was like, yeah, 00:22:44.43\00:22:50.70 OK, can information, appreciate it. And that go on my way. But at the Sunday charge of that, 00:22:50.70\00:22:55.80 you I see in 2000, 10 in Baltimore, Maryland, I can't even tell you what the appeal 00:22:55.80\00:22:59.41 was on that Sunday morning. I just remember what my decision was. My decision was Jesus. I 00:22:59.41\00:23:06.92 don't know where you're going to take me. But I surrender to you. I surrender to your love 00:23:06.92\00:23:14.19 that I can no longer explain away. I surrendered your love that I can no longer ask 00:23:14.19\00:23:18.96 questions to sideline. And I except he was my personal Lord and savior. Wherever you want 00:23:18.96\00:23:23.63 to go. And going home was really hard. Now, I want to bring up going home because I 00:23:23.63\00:23:33.24 mean, all going to go home. And it's like, Ali, we just got here for LAX. Going talk 00:23:33.24\00:23:36.31 about that yet. But we are going to go home. We're going to go home to our respective 00:23:36.31\00:23:40.75 churches, our respective communities. And that was really hard for me because 00:23:40.75\00:23:44.82 I've had this mountain top experience with a Jesus that you Wi fi. I went home. And it 00:23:44.82\00:23:50.46 wasn't that mountain top experience. There's nothing wrong with mountaintop 00:23:50.46\00:23:55.86 experiences. They're all throughout scripture and they're good. But sometimes we 00:23:55.86\00:24:00.04 might think that's the only thing that we should experience. 00:24:00.04\00:24:05.71 And sometimes our lows afterwards are so low. And what's I really Fiji sustained, 00:24:05.71\00:24:11.85 really have that experience with him. And so the purpose of these morning devotional time, just 00:24:11.85\00:24:17.42 conversations where the have together is how to have meaningful devotions after G 00:24:17.42\00:24:23.12 White Sea. How to have that walk with God when you're not surrounded by other people who 00:24:23.12\00:24:29.90 harmonize when you sing and who have different Bible verses to share with you, how 00:24:29.90\00:24:35.04 to have that yourself. From being honest with you. Out of. The last 11 years. I would see 00:24:35.04\00:24:43.41 a solid 8 of them. My personal time with God. My morning. Watch my time. A personal 00:24:43.41\00:24:49.82 bible study, whatever we want to call it. Was a source of I was also a lot of times a 00:24:49.82\00:24:56.06 source of anxiety. And ask questions like I prayed long enough. I prefer the person. I 00:24:56.06\00:25:03.43 said going to pray for probably the last 3 months. My reading the right 5 will first 00:25:03.43\00:25:08.97 because I really should for the of the new revelation. But I stood also said he saw I've 00:25:08.97\00:25:13.27 heard Genesis is really good. But you should always read the Gospels, right? But I should 00:25:13.27\00:25:16.71 also be Paul's letters. And I should I something out of this Russian read like the Old 00:25:16.71\00:25:21.12 Testament, you know, so what? What am I supposed to do? And often times that got in the 00:25:21.12\00:25:28.22 way of my personal walk kind, it was. But in the last few years. God has. Taught me some 00:25:28.22\00:25:35.20 things. But I want to share the next few mornings that have really help me have that 00:25:35.20\00:25:41.10 peace and that devotional life. But I believe God wants all of us to have. And so. 00:25:41.10\00:25:48.68 Morning this morning's message. Is called Exposed. And we'll just leave it there 00:25:48.68\00:25:58.95 for now. We'll talk about that for me. So if you go with me in your Bibles to John Chapter 00:25:58.95\00:26:03.66 4. John Chapter 4. While you're making your way, there'll this 00:26:03.66\00:26:11.60 is the story of the woman at the well, one of my favorite stories and all scripture. The chapter 00:26:11.60\00:26:17.11 opens and verse one. is when the Lord new, the pharisees had heard that Jesus made about 00:26:17.11\00:26:24.31 ties more disciples than John. The juice himself did not baptized, but his disciples. 00:26:24.31\00:26:27.18 He left and depart again to Galilee. So where he's gone somewhere else, that's kind of 00:26:27.18\00:26:34.06 it. The numbers for it says, but he needed to go through some area. So Jesus and his 00:26:34.06\00:26:43.97 disciples are going from today at a gala. needs to go through. 00:26:43.97\00:26:50.01 Some area. This is just a side note. But this this meant a lot to me. What I what I learned 00:26:50.01\00:26:54.98 this and that is geographically. Jesus didn't have to go through some area. Most Jews bypassed it 00:26:54.98\00:27:03.55 completely. They went on this side to that dotted line. They're on the right side of 00:27:03.55\00:27:08.32 the green arrows. That's where most whose most self-respecting 00:27:08.32\00:27:11.53 Jews would go that completely bypass an area. So do the things. The goat U.S. through 00:27:11.53\00:27:15.50 some area for another reason than geography. It's from this conversation with the woman at 00:27:15.50\00:27:21.30 the well. So let's let's read a little bit here together. And verse 5. It says. So. He 00:27:21.30\00:27:27.48 came to a city of some area which is called Sidecar near the plot of ground that Jacob 00:27:27.48\00:27:31.68 gave to his son Joseph. Now Joe Jacobs. Well, was their Jesus, therefore being wary 00:27:31.68\00:27:37.89 from his attorney said Best Buy the well. It was about the 6th hour for 7, a woman of 00:27:37.89\00:27:43.39 some area came to draw water. Jesus said to her, give me a tree. First. Disciples have 00:27:43.39\00:27:49.63 gone way into the city to buy food. Jesus is on his way and he stops in some areas, stops 00:27:49.63\00:27:58.44 its of the 6th hour, which in Jewish time wrecking as noon. He's hot because it's noon he 00:27:58.44\00:28:02.91 wants water because it's hot because this noon and he a very simple question. Can I 00:28:02.91\00:28:08.38 give me some water? And in this culture, especially it was your duty to give someone 00:28:08.38\00:28:15.99 water in that situation, especially if someone is asking 00:28:15.99\00:28:20.73 for it. The story communal the strait, giving the spray thinking of others taking care 00:28:20.73\00:28:23.30 of the traveler. That is within your sphere of influence. Very, very common. But the woman at 00:28:23.30\00:28:31.54 the well. Reacts differently to what Jesus says. And verse 9. The woman of some areas said to 00:28:31.54\00:28:38.81 him, how is it that you being a J**? Ask a drink from me. A Samaritan woman for Jews have 00:28:38.81\00:28:45.55 no dealings with Samaritans. Spoiler. Jesus never gets its water. Not the whole 00:28:45.55\00:28:55.06 conversation effect. At the end, she leaves her water. Pot goes back to some areas so no 00:28:55.06\00:28:57.50 waters had for Jesus. That will start this whole conversation. 00:28:57.50\00:29:03.77 Want to talk for second about tone of voice. In the Bible were given things that maybe indicate 00:29:03.77\00:29:11.21 a tone, a voice like this kind of makes sense with this is the way it's spoken. Sometimes it 00:29:11.21\00:29:14.62 goes either way, for example. And Matthew, 23, when Jesus says woe to you, scribes and 00:29:14.62\00:29:22.26 pharisees, you who devour the poor. I've heard too, at least 2 different reckonings of 00:29:22.26\00:29:27.96 that. tone of voice wise one is woe to you. >> and Pharisees you 00:29:27.96\00:29:34.70 to divest like that. >> Woe to you. Scribes and Hugh, who devour the poor? You 00:29:34.70\00:29:50.45 notice how the same exact words, the tone of voice changes and 00:29:50.45\00:29:53.92 the message changes, right? We do that and real-life right. Like yeah, it's fine or it's 00:29:53.92\00:30:00.76 fine. Right? Very, very different messaging there. The tone of voice has a different. 00:30:00.76\00:30:06.60 We don't have audio recordings of the Bible. indications but no audio recordings. So to figure 00:30:06.60\00:30:11.01 out this woman at the wells tone of voice, let's look a little closer. Other things she says 00:30:11.01\00:30:14.71 because she could say how is Thank you being a J**. Ask a treat for Samaritan. What I 00:30:14.71\00:30:24.72 think she sounded like. But let's look closer. So then Jesus in verse 10, we're going 00:30:24.72\00:30:29.32 to go a little bit quickly. That will come back and shortly first, 10 Jesus starts 00:30:29.32\00:30:34.10 talking about living water and she versus haven't served. You have nothing to draw with and 00:30:34.10\00:30:39.77 the well as deep where then you get that living water. Are you greater than our father? 00:30:39.77\00:30:45.51 Jacob, who gave us the well and drink from it himself as well. 00:30:45.51\00:30:48.38 So something his livestock. First 15, sir, give me this water that they may not thirst 00:30:48.38\00:30:54.05 come here to draw first 19, sir. I perceive your profit. Our fathers were shipped on this 00:30:54.05\00:31:00.32 mountain due to say that Jerusalem is the place for one ought to worship. These are 00:31:00.32\00:31:04.93 snapshots of their conversation and I get the sense that. She's not being respectful in her 00:31:04.93\00:31:14.04 conversation with Jesus. It's kind of hard to respectfully say, are you crater that our 00:31:14.04\00:31:19.94 father, Jacob, gave us the swell. It's more of our you greater that. Our father, 00:31:19.94\00:31:25.41 Jacob, who gave us this well, who said his family and his livestock with this or sir. 00:31:25.41\00:31:31.05 The well is deep. And you have nothing to draw So then where did you get this living water? 00:31:31.05\00:31:39.63 That's the kind of sense that that I get her tone of voice here. And at the end of the 00:31:39.63\00:31:44.93 conversation. And verse. 25 26 go there with me. After this conversation of worship, much 00:31:44.93\00:31:53.54 truer ship isn't use clarifies those things. The woman said to him. I know that Messiahs 00:31:53.54\00:31:57.88 coming who was called Christ when he comes, he would tell us all things Jesus said to 00:31:57.88\00:32:02.85 her. I speak to you and 2. I am. He. The whole time. I wonder what went through her 00:32:02.85\00:32:11.93 mind that moment. She's saying all these things like you greater than our father. 00:32:11.93\00:32:16.46 Jacob? Yes. I am. You get this water. I created water. And so at personally site. Talk with 00:32:16.46\00:32:29.61 the moment, the well sometimes. And that moment at I know. I've 00:32:29.61\00:32:37.45 been talking to the side the whole time comfortable. Haha. But, you know, she respond. She 00:32:37.45\00:32:43.69 drops her waterpot. She goes back to some areas. She tells them coming to manage, told me 00:32:43.69\00:32:47.03 everything about her done. If she knew that Jesus was Jesus. The whole conversation. Do you 00:32:47.03\00:32:56.27 think she would have talked to him the same way? She was interesting. Jesus was Jesus 00:32:56.27\00:33:04.11 the whole time. Jesus was Jesus. The whole conversation. Did you notice he never? Like? 00:33:04.11\00:33:18.26 Are you greater than Jay Company couldn't like? Ah, yes. Of course. I would be me. 00:33:18.26\00:33:22.16 I don't need wells. I created the whole Earth. How dare you question me? How do you ask me 00:33:22.16\00:33:29.00 about worship The person you worship? Jesus answered her questions. And this shows we 00:33:29.00\00:33:36.31 something very important about Jesus. And that is Jesus can handle whatever you share. 00:33:36.31\00:33:43.65 However, you share it. Jesus can handle what ever you share. However, you share it. 00:33:43.65\00:33:54.83 I have the sense of sometimes we treat Jesus like a really expensive doll on a really 00:33:54.83\00:33:57.97 expensive shelf. want to have spiritual time. take him down from the shelf. a nice, 00:33:57.97\00:34:05.04 pleasant, spiritual things and they go back over here. We deal with the rest of our 00:34:05.04\00:34:08.71 life. We do with our feelings and our traumas that are difficult situations and our 00:34:08.71\00:34:14.72 work and our study isn't things that are confusing or hard. We 00:34:14.72\00:34:20.82 over there. We do that strict things over here. But Jesus was with her and Jesus was not 00:34:20.82\00:34:28.20 offended by her. Overwhelmed by her scared by her. He's like cool. Let's talk about in fact, 00:34:28.20\00:34:32.63 let's talk about multiple husbands. Let's talk about it all too much for his liking. 00:34:32.63\00:34:38.34 Adorable. Let's talk about the But one of the main things. That allows us to have an intimate 00:34:38.34\00:34:46.65 real relationship with Christ. As we remember, we can come to Jesus with our bad attitudes. 00:34:46.65\00:34:54.06 We can come to Jesus with that. You know, Lord, I know you part of its seats. Well, 00:34:54.06\00:34:57.63 no, I won't do this for me. >> Like I love you and I trust you. But I really don't get 00:34:57.63\00:35:01.33 this. And that allows us to have an intimacy and allows us to process and it allows us to 00:35:01.33\00:35:10.01 heal. >> You're not going to heal yourself over here in Jesus 00:35:10.01\00:35:12.64 over there. There's no self healing mechanisms that are given to us. We bring our 00:35:12.64\00:35:17.35 brokenness in our traumas and are scared and are everything and like Jesus, this is what's 00:35:17.35\00:35:21.78 going on. Just like, yeah, let's talk about it. delve into that with you. Tell your 00:35:21.78\00:35:27.06 story. This is the driveway I mom's house, right like to go 00:35:27.06\00:35:35.23 walk sometimes. >> And I was walking there recently. And I realized it was something that I 00:35:35.23\00:35:42.80 had been talking to Jesus about. I've been being very pleasant like Lord, please help in the 00:35:42.80\00:35:45.91 situation. So my husband, David Mary, 2 years and you have a green card yet he can 00:35:45.91\00:35:54.62 visit, but he can't stay here and have to go back to Kenya. Long-distance dating is 00:35:54.62\00:36:00.06 terrible. Long-distance marriage. The worst do not recommend absolutely awful. 00:36:00.06\00:36:08.56 And, you know, I've been praying for a long time, but you should 00:36:08.56\00:36:12.07 allow us to be together here. As of this moment. We can't back to canyon a few months. And 00:36:12.07\00:36:20.84 people say things like, well, there's COVID and like the embassy had to shut like I get 00:36:20.84\00:36:25.65 that big a part of the Red Sea. So I don't care. I don't care about your constraint 00:36:25.65\00:36:31.59 constraints. Michael Chertoff, the sun. So whatever. No, god can do anything like. I 00:36:31.59\00:36:35.96 appreciate that. But no and I've experienced miracles. I've had. 00:36:35.96\00:36:42.50 I've asked God for money to buy groceries. I didn't have. And a stranger came up to me and said 00:36:42.50\00:36:45.07 here's 40 Bucks. Got told me to give it to you. So I know who this got is. And I'm like asked 00:36:45.07\00:36:50.74 for this for months. Why couldn't you just say this? You clearly let me together with 00:36:50.74\00:36:56.85 this man clearly led me back for us. Why are you? I don't like it. And to be honest, I've no 00:36:56.85\00:37:04.19 idea may be assigned to analogy to se but I don't know why. But something about that honest 00:37:04.19\00:37:12.79 conversation and the and just the longer version pain right now of Lord. I don't get it, 00:37:12.79\00:37:18.23 but I trust you. I'm upset. But I trust you. This is what I want. But I trust you and 00:37:18.23\00:37:27.18 super naturally. Yes, of course, my husband here and I'm still 00:37:27.18\00:37:34.15 sad about him leaving, but I'm not angry or resentful. I'm just like you just going to do and 00:37:34.15\00:37:38.92 I'm along for the ride. But that process, even that healing only came in his presence, it 00:37:38.92\00:37:46.09 didn't come over there. I didn't heal myself or convince myself. I'm a trust. Jesus. 00:37:46.09\00:37:51.73 I'm going to trust I'm not sure that doesn't. That doesn't work. 00:37:51.73\00:37:56.77 Instead of saying Jesus, help me trust you. Jesus is how I feel Jesus. What I need just like, 00:37:56.77\00:38:00.48 let's let's do it. And that supernatural healing comes in communion with Christ not and 00:38:00.48\00:38:06.28 condron it up by yourself. It's not make sense. Please say Amen. Let's continue with 00:38:06.28\00:38:13.09 our story. John. Chapter 4. So Jesus asked for a drink of water. The woman up to well. 00:38:13.09\00:38:24.83 No kind of. Then in verse 10 due this answer and said to her, if you knew the gift of 00:38:24.83\00:38:31.11 God and who it is, who says you give me a drink, you would have asked him and he would 00:38:31.11\00:38:35.04 have given you living water. I love the logistics of first love and the woman said to 00:38:35.04\00:38:40.22 him, sir, you nothing to draw within the well as D where did you get that living water? 00:38:40.22\00:38:44.42 First? 12. Are you greater than Jacob? Sometimes Jesus tells us thing. like. That's a 00:38:44.42\00:38:54.03 really cool idea. But until you prove to be how you're going to do it, I'm not going 00:38:54.03\00:38:58.97 to believe you. Jesus, I hear you, but you will be a minister to my neighbor care 00:38:58.97\00:39:05.31 like super on godly. let's be honest, you this. I should have a better project in Lord. 00:39:05.31\00:39:13.65 I hear you that you want me to be this kind of person or go to this kind of school. But it 00:39:13.65\00:39:18.32 let's be honest. That's not going just a clean work. Jesus, I hear you that you've 00:39:18.32\00:39:26.56 covered me in your righteousness. Like I don't feel it. I don't feel your 00:39:26.56\00:39:33.07 righteousness. So clearly it's not true. Jesus, I hear you on how you're going to empower 00:39:33.07\00:39:39.24 me. And you get filled holy spirit and guide me. But I don't really understand the 00:39:39.24\00:39:44.31 logistics of the supernatural realities. So I'm not going to live like that. Is not seen a 00:39:44.31\00:39:52.49 20 step plan. Faith is seen Faith is not seen all. I totally 00:39:52.49\00:40:02.00 understand what's going to work. Thanks for sharing that with me. >> Faith is I know Jesus. I 00:40:02.00\00:40:06.10 trust Jesus. The end. And yes, it has implications and expressions and our life. But 00:40:06.10\00:40:15.34 it's because of who we know not because of what we know. And so faith the seen him. 00:40:15.34\00:40:22.02 Even when you can't see how. Faith is Mary saying to the Angel. Let it be according to 00:40:22.02\00:40:28.86 what you say. So overshadowed by the Holy Spirit thing better. not what that means. 00:40:28.86\00:40:33.96 Let's do it. >> That is faith. She may not understand 00:40:33.96\00:40:41.20 everything that Jesus as what we understand. Juices love for us. And we've seen enough the real 00:40:41.20\00:40:45.81 like I see this much. I don't know what's over there, but I trust you and the gap. Jews from 00:40:45.81\00:40:56.92 the woman kept talking a little bit more. So after she says that she he goes back to that 00:40:56.92\00:41:05.16 talking about water. Also interesting because like she doesn't give him water, but 00:41:05.16\00:41:09.10 then he doesn't directly answer a lot of questions. Just all so 00:41:09.10\00:41:12.67 interesting. Anyways. So first, 13. Do the fast and said to her clever drinks of this water will 00:41:12.67\00:41:18.54 first again. But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give 00:41:18.54\00:41:23.98 him, we'll never thirst. But the water that I give him will become an him a fountain of 00:41:23.98\00:41:30.59 water springing up and to everlasting life. First 15 at this point, the woman is either. 00:41:30.59\00:41:38.49 I don't know, sincerely. Give me that water. She's like I fight. Give us water. Whatever. First 00:41:38.49\00:41:44.50 15, the woman said to him, sir, give me this water that they may not thirst or come here to 00:41:44.50\00:41:46.23 draw. For 16. Just takes a sharp left. Turn. You call your husband and come here. 00:41:46.23\00:41:57.75 The woman says what I would have said. Sir, I have no husband. 00:41:57.75\00:42:03.39 That's all been deeply about And use naturally. For 17. You have well-fed. I have no husband. 00:42:03.39\00:42:15.66 For you've had 5 husbands and the one who you now have is not your husband in that. You 00:42:15.66\00:42:19.80 spoke truly. That expansion on my answer. Yes, interesting, though, is Chief of says what 00:42:19.80\00:42:32.81 he says. But there's no like condemnation and anything that he says. It's like he's 00:42:32.81\00:42:36.95 reading the cyclist, the facts. It is true that you have no husband. You've had 5 00:42:36.95\00:42:42.06 husbands, the person who you live with, not your husband. You're right. She's like Thank 00:42:42.06\00:42:48.43 you for that. And then she takes a left turn, perceive your profit. Let's talk about 00:42:48.43\00:42:55.57 culture and theology. Let's go all the way over here. >> Jesus 00:42:55.57\00:43:01.91 knew. All these things about her. And a few verses later in verse. 26. Jesus said. 00:43:01.91\00:43:10.35 >> You know, I can speak. You have he? I'm the messiah. This woman at the well, this woman 00:43:10.35\00:43:14.49 of some area was one of very few people that got an explicit. Confirmation of who 00:43:14.49\00:43:22.70 Jesus was. She's with sick kind of sideways to some people like 00:43:22.70\00:43:25.83 parables. Many say it to like right people tonight, different places. But he's a true yeah, 00:43:25.83\00:43:36.01 that's me. At this point. Again, after she's been talking to him this way and he knows like all 00:43:36.01\00:43:41.42 these men her life like. Remember how she reacts. She doesn't fall to the ground and 00:43:41.42\00:43:49.49 condemnation I'm the worst. She's like I'm ago. Tell everybody. This is what I 00:43:49.49\00:43:55.83 should ugly. This pop behind and go tell the whole city about this guy that knows 00:43:55.83\00:43:59.40 everything about me. Jesus knew the ins and outs of her life. And he still chose to 00:43:59.40\00:44:08.61 give for such an honor of Dish. Saying who he was. Before. David 00:44:08.61\00:44:18.65 and I, my husband for Dave and I started dating. We have this little in-between stage. And we 00:44:18.65\00:44:25.33 told other we have dramatic feelings for each other. But then before we started dating 00:44:25.33\00:44:29.46 in this in-between time, everyone to talk to mentors like, are we crazy? Is this a 00:44:29.46\00:44:32.53 good idea? What do think? And we also want to have some difficult conversations. And I 00:44:32.53\00:44:41.74 can tell you my goals for those conversations were I knew. That 00:44:41.74\00:44:47.75 if there were certain things I didn't tell David. If he were to say things like really, really 00:44:47.75\00:44:53.72 like you or I love you. And if he didn't know those things in my head, I would say sure you 00:44:53.72\00:45:00.66 do because you don't know this. That's cute. Because you don't know that. And so my 00:45:00.66\00:45:09.90 purpose in those conversations was to get rid of all of those. So David were to say, I 00:45:09.90\00:45:14.51 love you. I feel like, well, he has informed consent on that. 00:45:14.51\00:45:17.58 You know what he's saying? He knows. And I believe in a way this is something that Jesus was 00:45:17.58\00:45:25.92 doing in this conversation. You don't have to hide. I know why you're here in the middle of 00:45:25.92\00:45:31.89 the day. It should have really earlier for the late with all the other women. I know why 00:45:31.89\00:45:35.00 you're here. I know what you've done. I know the details. I'm 00:45:35.00\00:45:42.17 still here. I know all of it. You enough to say it. You can just say your little short 00:45:42.17\00:45:47.94 answer all to make it clear to you that I'm aware of all the other details. And I'm still 00:45:47.94\00:45:53.42 going to sit here and talk to you about worship. I'm still going to reveal to you myself as 00:45:53.42\00:45:56.72 the Messiah after Jesus said. What he said about all the husbands. She makes her left 00:45:56.72\00:46:08.93 turn. And she's goes along with it right serve, receive your profit. Our fathers were 00:46:08.93\00:46:16.84 shut on this mountain. Let's talk about it's kind of like someone being like, hey. I 00:46:16.84\00:46:20.41 want to talk to you about. It's really dark thing in your life. You like cool. Yeah. 00:46:20.41\00:46:25.58 What's your stance on vaccine mandates. Let's talk about that. that let's take a really 00:46:25.58\00:46:30.69 sharp left turn talk a little bit controversial. I wonder what would have happened. She 00:46:30.69\00:46:39.19 would have shared. More about that in her life to Jesus. At that moment. I wonder would 00:46:39.19\00:46:47.07 have happened if instead of she her bringing up a controversial 00:46:47.07\00:46:48.67 point, if she would have said. I'm really ashamed. I feel really judged and I don't feel 00:46:48.67\00:47:01.05 like I know what to do anymore. Kuz. I so far. Con right. Like this happened 5 times. Let's a 00:47:01.05\00:47:05.95 lot and I don't want to do. I wonder would have happened if she would have leaned into the 00:47:05.95\00:47:13.36 painful in the difficult for the running away from it. And I wonder what would happen for 00:47:13.36\00:47:18.03 us if we did that, too. I wonder what would happen if and our devotional life in our 00:47:18.03\00:47:24.44 prayer time. If we came to Jesus or like Lord. I have a really hard time relationship 00:47:24.44\00:47:33.18 with my mom. She really hurt my feelings a lot. Lord. I have a really hard time with 00:47:33.18\00:47:41.69 this passage. And the whole testament like I don't get it like I could by faith. But 00:47:41.69\00:47:46.90 like. To look like a j***. And I don't really know how to 00:47:46.90\00:47:52.97 reconcile that. >> Lord, I. I have these really scary desires. I don't know what to do with and 00:47:52.97\00:48:00.98 I feel like if I were to tell somebody. Howard P ostracized from everybody that I know. 00:48:00.98\00:48:07.15 But I don't want to deal with it. I don't feel like I have any friends. Like I I don't 00:48:07.15\00:48:17.19 have friends. And that feels really lonely. Sometimes when I get so angry, I just say the 00:48:17.19\00:48:28.60 most should most terrible things. And I know I should have like I don't how to stop 00:48:28.60\00:48:33.78 doing that. Just to look at the part of me at this point, just lamb. But like I want to 00:48:33.78\00:48:37.01 be that So how do I not be that person? That thing that happened to be when I was 7. 00:48:37.01\00:48:46.52 What I do with that. But even watch that. A lot of have this habit for 15 years at this 00:48:46.52\00:48:55.26 point. So clearly it's not going anywhere, but I don't really know to do with that. 00:48:55.26\00:49:03.10 Sometimes I like hanging out with you. Their Bible study is just I know I shouldn't. Mike 00:49:03.10\00:49:09.34 a girl Cali at us. He was like this is important. And so like I'm here. Not really feeling 00:49:09.34\00:49:13.75 it. These are the kinds of things we can talk us about and that thing that the holy 00:49:13.75\00:49:25.26 spirit of saying to you right now that I didn't say it includes that too. Whatever it 00:49:25.26\00:49:29.06 is. should lean into the difficult. And the painful with Jesus. He's not expensive 00:49:29.06\00:49:39.64 doll on expensive shelf. That's not a thing. He's the king of the universe. And he's 00:49:39.64\00:49:47.38 able to handle anything that we give him. I don't know. What the 00:49:47.38\00:49:56.09 state of your personal devotional life is, whether you're like, yeah, but having to 00:49:56.09\00:49:59.76 vote every day for 8 years from. I like you keep using the word devotion alive. I don't what 00:49:59.76\00:50:06.84 that means. Or I thing I devotions. A month ago, was it? The purpose of devotions isn't 00:50:06.84\00:50:18.11 to fulfill a checklist or to do your Christian duty for the day or even to get got to like you 00:50:18.11\00:50:22.22 because we already does. One of the purposes of a devotional 00:50:22.22\00:50:31.29 life is to be exposed and Jesus, his presence. And I can't explain to logistics person 00:50:31.29\00:50:36.97 myself. I can explain to you why heels you additional I can't tell you why you're like why. 00:50:36.97\00:50:43.97 But like Jesus already knows this. I know. Isn't it crazy? How to say that any ways helps? 00:50:43.97\00:50:46.94 I don't know. But got know he does. There's something supernatural, this exchange in 00:50:46.94\00:50:55.55 this relationship with Christ where you're talking to him and your voluntarily sharing 00:50:55.55\00:51:02.19 your heart, your voluntarily sharing your fears, your voluntarily sharing your 00:51:02.19\00:51:07.86 questions. And that is healing. Because you realize this God of 00:51:07.86\00:51:17.84 the universe who created everything and who loves everyone. He loves you. And he 00:51:17.84\00:51:24.25 knows you. He knows about that thing. The fog on the very edge of your consciousness. You're 00:51:24.25\00:51:26.92 like I've never told anybody about that. Yeah, God knows. That question that you're like, 00:51:26.92\00:51:32.42 I'm a leader. But like I really go understand this fundamental belief. I actually agree with 00:51:32.42\00:51:37.79 it. Just those that too. Jesus knows about your your your questions, your desires, your 00:51:37.79\00:51:44.60 bad ways of acting. When you're angry. Just notes. And he still. Still so much wants 00:51:44.60\00:51:52.77 to commune with you and talk with you. At the well, if your life. I think it was a 00:51:52.77\00:52:00.92 blessing to that woman to not know she was talking to Jesus most of the time. Because I 00:52:00.92\00:52:08.76 think that allowed her to be her authentic self. I think that allowed her to After 00:52:08.76\00:52:15.76 questions maker accusations and just like cool. Let's do it. It 00:52:15.76\00:52:19.37 didn't scare him a scare him. Now. Your questions or accusations, you don't schedules 00:52:19.37\00:52:25.51 He's just like I'm happy to talk. Let's talk about right now. To recap the things that 00:52:25.51\00:52:35.68 we've covered together. exposed, it's hard and it's painful. But with Jesus. It is healing 100 00:52:35.68\00:52:49.30 per cent of the time. Remember? Healing doesn't always feel good. Just to be clear. 00:52:49.30\00:53:00.08 Healing the sometimes painfully know it when you really. Hard 00:53:00.08\00:53:04.78 workout, especially lift weights one day the next So you may hit by a truck that's good. Your 00:53:04.78\00:53:07.25 healing. But you still feel he got hit by a truck. Jesus can 00:53:07.25\00:53:16.76 handle. >> You share, however you share it. Talk to Jesus the way that you talk. Ask the 00:53:16.76\00:53:22.43 questions that you have. Share the thoughts that you have. Sure your fears share your 00:53:22.43\00:53:30.14 accusations. Lord, you said you would do this, but I haven't 00:53:30.14\00:53:33.74 seen this. She can handle it if you don't think so. Re job, she's can handle it. It's seen 00:53:33.74\00:53:45.02 him. Even when you don't see how he can. It's focusing on your relationship with him and not 00:53:45.02\00:53:51.63 your understanding of the logistical step by step with the rest of your life. And 00:53:51.63\00:53:56.00 lastly. Lean into the difficult. And the painful with him. I 00:53:56.00\00:54:11.25 know. Your hands. That she wants you to really, really busy time as busy for great reasons. 00:54:11.25\00:54:14.88 You're meeting new people are seeing old friends are going to it's Clinton areas. Breakout 00:54:17.65\00:54:21.16 rooms, prayer, all wonderful. >> But I want to challenge you 00:54:21.16\00:54:27.76 this, Icy. >> To spend time alone with Jesus. >> I'm not going to give you a 00:54:27.76\00:54:32.80 time limit because there's nothing holy about a time limit. And our great 5 minutes 00:54:32.80\00:54:37.47 fights 7 hours. You do you. Spend time. >> Alone. 00:54:37.47\00:54:43.41 >> With Jesus. Not to impress anyone or to show off anything. 00:54:43.41\00:54:50.35 But just to abide with Jesus. If you can do at the beginning of the day, awesome. If you can't 00:54:50.35\00:54:58.73 the day is not lost. I know if you do this thing, we're sometimes don't have devotional 00:54:58.73\00:55:05.30 time. The morning before 07:30AM.
