talk about what happened

and how these
translations came about.

To begin with, when Christ came

and with His life and death

the whole picture - as
far as religion is concerned

and the spread of
the gospel - changed.

Because Christ had
told those disciples

that they were
to preach in Judea,

Samaria, and to all the world.

And so He gave
them that commission.

And whereas before the
scripture was contained

with the Jewish people,

but now all of a sudden it
was made available to everybody.

Asia Minor had heard the gospel.

half the Roman Empire

So the gospel spread

Now you think about that.

Men and women have accepted
it and are believing it.

At this same time - right

the name of Jerome.

Jerome is a monk.

He lives in a cave in Jerusalem,

and he translated the Bible.

OK? You need to remember that.

This became known as
the Vulgate translation.

First time being
translated into Latin.

Also at this time,
the Jewish Old Testament

from Hebrew into Greek,

lations that are taking place.

of the world at that time,

Vulgate, was accepted.

there were two men:

as a scholar is concerned.

1800s. And they were approached

Unfortunately, these two men
