And the reason for that

And it says here:

Now as you notice
in the picture there,

there's a woman
riding on a beast.
00:13:36.39\00:13:39.67
And this beast has seven heads
which are these seven kings.

And the scripture says
that five of those have fallen.

That one is; one is yet to come.
00:13:48.92\00:13:51.74
And that's what
we're identifying

as we're going through here.

And the reason this
is important, folks,

is because this
is the last beast

that's mentioned
in the scripture.

It's the last one in
the book of Revelation,

and it just kind of takes all

the prophecies and brings them

down to the end and shows
you and I exactly where we are

in the stream of time.

that had eagle's wings.

That lion is the head that's
on the beast in Revelation 17

representing the
kingdom of Babylon.

And you remember
as we studied it,

we found out that
Babylon fell to who?
00:15:21.58\00:15:25.58
To Medo-Persia.
Babylon fell to Medo-Persia
00:15:26.74\00:15:30.13
And Medo-Persia is
pictured in the scripture
00:15:30.33\00:15:33.81
in Daniel the 7th
chapter as a bear.
00:15:34.01\00:15:36.52
This represented the country
of Medo-Persia, the bear that
00:15:36.72\00:15:40.22
raised itself up on one side,
had three ribs in its teeth.
00:15:40.42\00:15:44.08
That bear
represented Medo-Persia.
00:15:44.28\00:15:46.48
And on the beast
of Revelation 17,
00:15:46.68\00:15:49.97
one of those
heads would be a bear
00:15:50.17\00:15:52.35
representing the
kingdom of Medo-Persia.
00:15:52.55\00:15:55.84
So those are the two
that we have looked at so far,

and this morning we're
taking a look at the third one

which is the country of Greece.

Now, rather interesting...

Greece doesn't
amount to anything.

You're looking
at on a map here...

that in blue
that you're looking at

is the Aegean Sea there.
And this is Greece at this time.

This is a bunch of
little cites, states,

and there's no organization
or anything to them.
00:16:28.68\00:16:31.93
It's also known as Macedonia.
00:16:32.13\00:16:35.07
And that's what...
there. And it's just not much

organization or anything
happening there or taking place.

But you remember in our study
00:16:42.72\00:16:45.01
it said concerning Medo-Persia
00:16:45.21\00:16:48.33
that they would turn
their riches against Greece.

And for some reason
the kings of Macedonia

began to concentrate
on this part of the world
00:16:55.90\00:16:59.12
trying to bring
them into subjection.
00:16:59.32\00:17:02.10
And there rose a king
by the name of Philip,
00:17:02.30\00:17:07.56
Philip II, and he
decided that they would fight.
00:17:07.76\00:17:11.93
And so he began to go
around and to organize
00:17:12.13\00:17:15.86
one of these Greek
states and all after another
00:17:16.06\00:17:19.92
bringing them
together to defend themselves.
00:17:20.12\00:17:23.15
Defend themselves
against the Medo-Persians,
00:17:23.35\00:17:25.65
and this is what
was taking place.

And so this little area where
there wasn't much taking place

all of a sudden began to
come together and organize.

And Philip was fighting
these, taking care of them.

Philip had a son.
00:17:43.59\00:17:45.85
His son's name was
Alexander the Great.

Alexander... a very,
very bright person...
00:17:51.11\00:17:57.03
very, very intelligent.
00:17:57.23\00:17:59.34
Very, very capable.
00:17:59.54\00:18:02.06
Great, great
ability of leadership.

And as a young person, Philip...
00:18:06.16\00:18:10.58
I don't know how he did it.
But maybe it was just luck...

maybe he knew what he was doing,

but he hired the brightest mind
00:18:16.86\00:18:21.49
in all the country
to teach Alexander.

And he hired
Aristotle to be his teacher.

And Aristotle
taught Alexander the Great

and evidently he gave him much
of the ability that he learned

from Aristotle, and
he began to develop.

In fact, he developed so much
that Philip - who had to defend
00:18:44.17\00:18:48.35
the Greek cities
here - was out fighting.

And because he couldn't be there
at the headquarters and all
00:18:53.01\00:18:56.55
he asked his son,
Alexander... 16 years of age...
00:18:56.75\00:19:02.45
to take care of it.
00:19:02.65\00:19:04.41
Sixteen years of
age... sixteen years.
00:19:05.94\00:19:08.58
And Alexander took the city
there and began to care for it.

And since Philip was
out fighting somewhere,

some of the folks that were
opposed to what was happening

decided they
would take the city.

But they didn't realize
that they were facing Alexander.

And Alexander defended the city

and was able to overcome them.

And so he began to develop.

At the age of 18 years of age

his father made him
one of his generals.

Eighteen years of age.

At 19, Philip died

and Alexander the
Great took over the kingdom.

Nineteen years of age.

Now, since all these
wars have been going on

and everything, it has depleted
the country financially.

And so when
Alexander the Great gets it,

the finances
aren't in very good shape.

And, of course, one of the
ways that they help themselves

financially was by
warring against another power

and taking the
loot and all this.

So Alexander the Great figured
his only way of pulling it out

was he was going to
have to go out and fight.

And so you find
Alexander the Great

takes 45,000 soldiers

and heads out

to face the Persians.

Now folks, this is when
something very, very dramatic

takes place.

Because Alexander the
Great takes these soldiers

and they step out and

Because if you look at it

there the Aegean Sea.

this is the dividing

This is the dividing place
between the continent of Europe

and the continent of Asia.

That's where it's
divided is right there

at a place called

Right there. And that's
where Alexander the Great came

and taking those 45,000 soldiers

crossing the water right there

took a spear and threw that
spear from the ship to the shore

going to take all of Asia.

I'm trying to tell you here,

when in history and in time

the central of power

moving from Asia. It's
been in Asia all this time

They have been the central

of the power for the world.

All of a sudden now
it is shifting from Asia

to Europe.

And Europe is going to
become the central power

of the world over
the next 2,000 years.

This is when the shift
takes place. Right here

Now, Darius of the Persians

is on his way.

And there he met
Alexander the Great...

The first battle, and Alexander
the Great defeated him.

And Darius
fled... went on his way.

So now, Alexander the
Great is coming along here,

coming down Asia Minor.

That's where he's

and he's taking one city
after another like Ephesus

cities that you study about.

You know... the seven churches.

That's where he's at.

He's coming down and he's
taking one of those cities

right after another and
claiming them for Greece.

say about Alexander the Great:

the second chapter on two nights

because Daniel the second
chapter talks about Babylon.

It also talks about Medo-Persia.

But it also talks about Greece.

that represented who?
