are familiar with the story

of Jonah.

You remember, God had told Jonah

that he was to go to the city

of Nineveh and to tell them
00:11:38.86\00:11:41.38
that they needed to repent
00:11:41.58\00:11:43.50
or else the city was
going to be destroyed.
00:11:43.60\00:11:45.94
And Jonah didn't accept that
with a great lot of good news.
00:11:46.24\00:11:51.10
He said: "Lord,
I'm going to go there.
00:11:51.30\00:11:54.80
I'm going to preach
00:11:55.00\00:11:56.25
and these people
are going to repent.
00:11:56.46\00:11:59.07
And when they repent,
I know You well enough

that out of Your
kindness and love that You will

forgive them and
not destroy the city...

and then I'm
going to look foolish. "

Therefore, Jonah caught a

And they threw him overboard.

And it says that God
had prepared a great fish,

and it swallowed Jonah.

And here Jonah is at
the bottom of the ocean

in the belly of a whale,

and all of a sudden he
begins to think about this.

In fact, the
scripture records his thoughts.

He had this to say:

All of a sudden he was saying:

"Hey, this is a whole lot worse

than feeling foolish.

worse than being embarrassed. "

Here he is down in
the bottom of the ocean

He said: "Repent, for the

It was part of his message.

You'll find that the
scripture tells us that it was

This was part of the gospel.

Folks, this is
more than feeling bad.

for Balaam... wanting him
to come and to curse Israel.

God had told that
prophet in no uncertain terms

he was not to go.

But Balaam... he was finagling
and went back to the Lord

and kept
questioning things until finally

God said: "OK, go. "

So he gets on his
donkey and heads out.

And as he's riding
along on his donkey,

here standing in the path
is an angel with a sword drawn.

it; Balaam doesn't.

for Moses and Aaron.

Pharaoh called for Moses
and Aaron in haste and said:

He was not sorry for his sins.

He wanted the plagues stopped.

Because the moment they
stopped, then what did he do?

Turned right around and tried
to take Israel captive again.

No, he wasn't sorry for that,

the plagues to continue.

talking to a young lady.
