privilege of being in this team.

There are three
Global Mission pioneers

that have been working
together for a couple of years

and every day from eight-

every work day
from eight to five

they traverse the city on foot.

They are knocking on
doors hour after hour.

They're looking for
people to talk with,

to pray with, and to invite

to study the Word of God.

In the past two years
they have given Bible studies

to 1,500 people,
they've baptized 200 people

and they have
started two branch-

two new church plants.

stories with me. Good.

Okay, the first
one was about a man.

He was a very
angry violent person

who had a reputation for
never allowing any other man

to set foot on his property.

He was married
to a church member

that was no longer
attending and Gift wanted

to go visit her
to pray with her.

But to encourage the wife he had

to get through the husband.

So he prayed for guidance
on how to handle the situation

and he went to visit the couple

and as he was walking up the,

the driveway he saw
the husband outside digging

in his garden
and the man looked up

and they locked
eyes for a moment

and then Gift says I
happen out my preferable vision

to notice a shovel
lying on the ground

and when I looked at it

that moment I
felt the impression

to go pick up that
shovel and to go into the garden

and to dig
quietly alongside the man.

So they did that
for a few moments

and then they began to talk.

And after they talked
for a while Gift asked

about the man's
wife and he said,

you know, she's
in the house you can,

you can go and visit with her.

So he went and talked to her

and as he was
leaving the man said

to him kindly feel free
to come again you're welcome.

So Gift began to
visit very frequently

and as he did as he
would talk to the woman

about the love of Jesus
the husband would listen

and eventually he and
her husband became friends.

And then one day Gift found out
the husband had left his wife

and he had moved
in with another woman
00:03:11.78\00:03:14.00
from whom he contracted AIDS
00:03:14.03\00:03:16.29
and he was very sick and
he didn't have long to live.

Gift asked the wife he
said can you forgive him
00:03:19.75\00:03:22.68
for what he's done and
can you bring him home.

And take care of him? Wow.

And she chose to do that.

So the next time he
went to visit the couple

the man they found
the man very, very weak.

And he went in by his bedside
and he took one his hands

and he said
Father God loves you,

you cannot die without
accepting Jesus as your Savior.

Raise your other hand if
you want to accept Jesus.

So he was quiet for a moment

then he weakly raised his
hand and he said I love Jesus.

and Gift just scooped him up
in his arms and embraced him.

Yeah. Now he was
crying when he told this.

I'm sure. It is pretty powerful.

And you can tell
when he does that

he just loves people
so much and they sense it.

A couple weeks later
it was camp meeting time

and Gift mentioned as
couple that he wanted to go

and this man is sick as
he was insisted he go to.

And so Gift made arrangements,
their hired a nurse

and they got a
wheelchair and he pushed the man

to every meeting for
the duration of camp meeting

and then at the closing
meeting the pastor made a call

and he said I'd
like anyone who wants

to be baptized to come forward

to the front and the man said

to Gift please push
me down I want to go

because I want to be
baptized before I die.

Wow.

And there's another story too.

There was
another man that he met.

He met this man
knocking on apartment doors

and this is a man
who had just learned

he was HIV-positive and
Gift knocked on his door

and he opened the door
00:04:59.19\00:05:00.25
and they talked for a little bit

and then Gift left
him a Bible lesson.

And I don't know if he reads
the same Bible lesson every time

but the one he left happened

to be on how
much God cares for us.

And he went his
way and few days later,

you know, they
do follow-up calls.

A couple days later he
knocked on the door again

and this time the
man opens the door

and he has tears just
streaming down his face

and he's holding the book sure

to his heart and Gift's like,

you know, what's
going on my brother,

what's the problem?

And he said, you know I just-

I recently found out I have a-

I'm HIV positive and
when I found that out

I quit school I was
going to university.

I quit school
and I had given up on

everything in my
life and he said in fact,

the very day you
knocked on my door

was the day I was
planning to kill myself.

So yeah, it's powerful.

This man's life is
completely turned around.

He accepted Jesus as Savior,
he's gone back to school,

he finished the Bible lessons
and he is now going to church.

around the world are ready

on a whole new meaning to me.
