¤ ¤ Subodh K. Pandit, M.D. 00:00:01.36\00:00:55.38 Now we are in Session Ten overall with the second session 00:00:55.42\00:01:00.39 comparing the founders. In this one I'd like to go a little 00:01:00.42\00:01:05.36 slower so go with me as we take the steps. I asked this question 00:01:05.39\00:01:12.47 and I'm going to read it out to you. How did your life, 00:01:12.50\00:01:16.14 Mr. Founder, 00:01:16.17\00:01:17.51 match with your own teachings? Did you provide the message in 00:01:17.54\00:01:21.44 word only or in actual practice in life? You wanted the people 00:01:21.48\00:01:26.61 to bring their behavior and practice into line with your 00:01:26.65\00:01:29.62 teachings. Did you do that yourself? That is the question. 00:01:29.65\00:01:34.82 And I consider this to be a true acid test of your claims. So you 00:01:34.86\00:01:40.10 know what I was trying to do was check and see whether the 00:01:40.13\00:01:45.70 meaning of what they were saying was not only in their words but 00:01:45.73\00:01:50.51 actually in their lives I really felt this was a true test to 00:01:50.54\00:01:55.68 these founders. Now because I'm trying to look for faults it 00:01:55.71\00:02:02.38 it will be a little negative in that sense. I don't mean to put 00:02:02.42\00:02:06.32 any of the religions down. I do not mean to say that the 00:02:06.35\00:02:09.02 doctrines and philosophies are are false or negative or bad. 00:02:09.06\00:02:12.99 What I mean to say is that we are asking a very specific 00:02:13.03\00:02:17.27 question and because of the nature of the question I had to 00:02:17.30\00:02:21.74 look for the faults in each of the founders. So I had to comb 00:02:21.77\00:02:26.44 through the writings to do that. And I don't mean, once again, 00:02:26.47\00:02:30.31 I do not mean to put you down, the other religions. I just 00:02:30.35\00:02:34.72 mean to ask this question as an inquirer. So join me in asking 00:02:34.75\00:02:39.32 this question: Mr. Founder, did your life match your own 00:02:39.35\00:02:45.06 teachings? Here's Hinduism. "When a man gives up all 00:02:45.09\00:02:49.76 varieties of desire for sense gratification...then he is said 00:02:49.80\00:02:54.24 to be in pure...transcendental consciousness." "A person who is 00:02:54.27\00:02:59.11 not disturbed by the incessant flow of desires can alone 00:02:59.14\00:03:02.94 achieve peace." These words, sense gratification and flow of 00:03:02.98\00:03:09.92 desires actually mean sensuality and sex. If you read all these 00:03:09.95\00:03:15.66 religious writings invariably, sometimes quite explicitly, they 00:03:15.69\00:03:21.23 do describe that. And that is because it is understood even 00:03:21.26\00:03:26.90 from the truth of each religion that this question of sensuality 00:03:26.94\00:03:31.11 and sexuality is a big part of our lives. Nobody escapes that. 00:03:31.14\00:03:36.98 But what they do say is that no matter how powerful the effects 00:03:37.01\00:03:42.82 of that part of our life, we must not let it dominate. 00:03:42.85\00:03:47.16 In other words, it's there for a good reason but if it gets to be 00:03:47.19\00:03:51.66 too much then we cannot carry on the true part that the founders 00:03:51.69\00:03:59.37 are trying to describe for us. In other words, yes, it is there 00:03:59.40\00:04:03.71 but do not let it dominate. Now with that in mind, let's see 00:04:03.74\00:04:08.68 what the words are in the description of some of the 00:04:08.71\00:04:12.88 Hindus. Here is what Gautama Buddha said as a Hindu, when he 00:04:12.91\00:04:17.42 was a Hindu, "...Our Holy books tell us of gods, sages and 00:04:17.45\00:04:22.36 heroes who, though high-minded were addicted to sensuous 00:04:22.39\00:04:27.26 passions." Now that is quite a confession to make. And it is in 00:04:27.30\00:04:33.23 writing. They were addicted. Not only did they indulge but they 00:04:33.27\00:04:37.61 were addicted to it. Do you know one of the glaring examples of 00:04:37.64\00:04:42.64 this, of going against this teaching, that you must not let 00:04:42.68\00:04:47.22 it dominate, keep it down to its place, is in the life of Krishna 00:04:47.25\00:04:53.46 who was the eighth incarnate of the god Vishnu. And in some 00:04:53.49\00:04:58.83 circles he is called the supreme personality of the godhead. 00:04:58.86\00:05:01.93 Now in his life in the traditional writings they 00:05:01.96\00:05:05.67 describe him as being playful. But the word playful does not 00:05:05.70\00:05:10.54 really depict the true picture. When you read what really 00:05:10.57\00:05:14.54 happens it is ahh picture that is questionable. You see he grew 00:05:14.58\00:05:22.45 up in a place called Randovna and his companions were only 00:05:22.48\00:05:27.69 girl cowherds called Gopis. He was the only guy. And he used to 00:05:27.72\00:05:33.80 play his flute beautifully. So in his treatment of the girls 00:05:33.83\00:05:40.57 and his behavior with the girls he would play the flute and the 00:05:40.60\00:05:44.24 traditional writings say that he would seduce them. That is not 00:05:44.27\00:05:49.01 a good picture. He described yes, playful, but the 00:05:49.04\00:05:54.08 playfulness was not really all that innocent. There was a time 00:05:54.12\00:05:58.49 when the girls had gone for a bath to the river, he went there 00:05:58.52\00:06:02.09 and picked all their clothes and climbed up a tree and he said 00:06:02.12\00:06:05.06 If anybody wants your clothes come and get them from me one by 00:06:05.09\00:06:08.56 one. Whoa. That's not a good picture. He also had his 00:06:08.60\00:06:14.20 favorite one called Radha and here is what a traditional 00:06:14.24\00:06:18.61 writing says: When Ayana Ghosh [who is the husband of Radha] 00:06:18.64\00:06:24.75 heard of Radha's adultery, he went in search of the couple. 00:06:24.78\00:06:28.55 [So who is Radha with? Krishna] However, Krishna assumed the 00:06:28.58\00:06:33.66 form of a goddess and they thereby escaped Ayagosha's 00:06:33.69\00:06:37.49 wrath." There are multiple such stories of his behavior. In 00:06:37.53\00:06:42.20 fact, in a royal meeting of opposing forces in those days 00:06:42.23\00:06:47.90 they would meet together before the war, and chide each other 00:06:47.94\00:06:51.81 and challenge each other. During one of those royal meetings 00:06:51.84\00:06:56.44 Shishupala, one of the opposing princes turned to him and chided 00:06:56.48\00:07:02.25 him, chided Krishna, for his behavior with women, for taking 00:07:02.28\00:07:06.86 their clothes. Why? Because that was part of the story that was 00:07:06.89\00:07:09.66 spread about. So he really did not keep up to that strong 00:07:09.69\00:07:17.47 teaching that you have to push it aside so that you can be in 00:07:17.50\00:07:19.97 pure transcendental consciousness. In some traditional writings he is 00:07:20.00\00:07:24.17 claimed to have had 16,000 wives Now even if this number is only 00:07:24.21\00:07:29.84 figurative, it does confess to his way of life. He is said to 00:07:29.88\00:07:34.92 have fathered 180,000 sons! That is not in line with the 00:07:34.95\00:07:39.75 principle of abstaining from sensual activities so that you 00:07:39.79\00:07:44.59 have the mind focused only on transcendental meditation. So it 00:07:44.63\00:07:50.00 doesn't look like the life had come up to the teaching in real 00:07:50.03\00:07:54.97 practice. How about Buddhism? Gautama Buddha said these words: 00:07:55.00\00:08:00.14 "Here venerable gentlemen are the four rules about the 00:08:00.18\00:08:04.65 offenses which deserve expulsion Expulsion from the monastery. 00:08:04.68\00:08:08.75 Number one: If a monk should have sexual intercourse with 00:08:08.78\00:08:12.85 anyone. The other rules were if you stole, or if you murdered, 00:08:12.89\00:08:18.36 or if you claimed to have supernatural powers when you 00:08:18.39\00:08:22.73 didn't, then these four rules would cause expulsion from the 00:08:22.76\00:08:27.30 monastery. So the first one was no sex. But how about him and 00:08:27.34\00:08:32.77 his own life? The fact is he was married and he did have a 00:08:32.81\00:08:36.48 son. So he did have sex. The other story is really in the 00:08:36.51\00:08:42.58 traditional writings. You see his father was a king, His name 00:08:42.62\00:08:46.52 was Suddhodana. His mother was a queen. So he was a prince. When 00:08:46.55\00:08:50.26 he was to be born a prophet from the foothills of the Himalayas 00:08:50.29\00:08:55.83 his name was Asceta came to the father and said you're going to 00:08:55.86\00:08:59.37 have a son and your son will either be a great world emperor 00:08:59.40\00:09:03.97 and ruler or he will leave town and go into the world looking 00:09:04.01\00:09:07.81 for light, half-clad, naked and an ascetic life. Which one would 00:09:07.84\00:09:12.71 you like? Well the father said I want him to be a prince and a 00:09:12.75\00:09:16.85 king and an emperor. Well Asceta then told him on this 00:09:16.89\00:09:20.46 condition he might become a world emperor; if you make sure 00:09:20.49\00:09:25.76 that he does not set his eyes on old age, disease, suffering, 00:09:25.79\00:09:31.10 or death. So the father, King Suddhodana, took up the 00:09:31.13\00:09:35.67 challenge. He'd built palaces, different palaces, in which he 00:09:35.70\00:09:41.18 placed Gautama Buddha. At that time his name was Siddhartha, 00:09:41.21\00:09:45.61 the son. And he did not let him come down to the palace grounds 00:09:45.65\00:09:49.45 or the town because he might set his eyes on those forbidden 00:09:49.48\00:09:53.96 things. So from the age of 16 to age of 29 he was kept on the 00:09:53.99\00:09:59.33 upper stories of the palaces, never allowed to come down. 00:09:59.36\00:10:02.76 Now how do you think they kept him busy and entertained out 00:10:02.80\00:10:06.70 there? Well we don't have to guess. The writings say this: 00:10:06.74\00:10:11.17 He was kept busy up there, entertained with women minstrels 00:10:11.21\00:10:16.04 "They entertained him with wanton swaying...butterfly 00:10:16.08\00:10:20.32 kisses and seductive glances. Thus he became a captive of 00:10:20.35\00:10:23.92 these women who were versed in the subject of sensuous 00:10:23.95\00:10:27.26 enjoyment and indefatigable in sexual pleasure." For how long? 00:10:27.29\00:10:32.63 Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after 00:10:32.66\00:10:36.43 year for 13 years. This was the story that was going on. And 00:10:36.46\00:10:40.84 that's why in later years when he was looking for light. By the 00:10:40.87\00:10:44.77 way, at the age of 29 he left that. Walked out into wilderness 00:10:44.81\00:10:49.51 looking for light exactly as the prophet had said. So this is 00:10:49.54\00:10:54.28 what he said while he was looking for light: 00:10:54.32\00:10:56.18 "In fulfillment of my vows I have plucked out the hair of my 00:10:56.22\00:11:00.56 head and the hair of my beard ...have gone down to the water 00:11:00.59\00:11:04.89 punctually thrice before nightfall to wash away the evil 00:11:04.93\00:11:09.00 within." I didn't use the word evil. It is right there in the 00:11:09.03\00:11:15.84 writings. And if he had to go punctually three times a day 00:11:15.87\00:11:20.41 to wash away the evil then that evil must have been a certain 00:11:20.44\00:11:26.41 good amount. You wash it once still there. Wash it again, it's 00:11:26.45\00:11:32.49 still there. Three time a day. In other words, it permeated his 00:11:32.52\00:11:36.32 life. And what was most of the evil? We don't know but 00:11:36.36\00:11:39.29 certainly it was the question of having sex, because that was his 00:11:39.33\00:11:43.80 story for all those years, 13 years. So really when you look 00:11:43.83\00:11:49.07 at the story and at the teaching the life story is not matching 00:11:49.10\00:11:54.58 with the teaching. So even Gautama Buddha does not seem to 00:11:54.61\00:11:59.55 have fulfilled his own teachings in his life. How about Islam, 00:11:59.58\00:12:04.19 the story of Muhammad? 00:12:04.22\00:12:05.82 Now Muhammad is considered to be the perfect man 00:12:05.85\00:12:09.26 and in traditional Islamic circles they do accept him as 00:12:09.29\00:12:13.83 that and I think we should accept him. But look at what the 00:12:13.86\00:12:16.40 Quran says. For example, in chapter four. Then you may marry 00:12:16.43\00:12:21.40 other women who seem good to you: two, three or four of them. 00:12:21.44\00:12:24.84 Muhammad had two basic parts of his life. One was in Mecca and 00:12:24.87\00:12:31.35 next half was in Medina. In Mecca he had only one wife. 00:12:31.38\00:12:34.42 In Medina, when he went, he had shifted out from being not just 00:12:34.45\00:12:38.89 a messenger of god, but to be a statesman, a general in his 00:12:38.92\00:12:44.43 army. Now he had power, a different kind of power, and he 00:12:44.46\00:12:48.56 wanted to maybe make alliances so he had so many wives. Here 00:12:48.60\00:12:52.50 it says four. It is said in the writings that he had anywhere 00:12:52.53\00:12:57.37 from 11 to even 19 wives. So he really didn't match this 00:12:57.41\00:13:03.65 teaching. How about 00:13:03.68\00:13:05.01 the next verse? It's found in chapter 48: "We [Allah] have 00:13:05.05\00:13:08.85 given you [Muhammad] a glorious victory so that [Allah] God may 00:13:08.88\00:13:13.36 forgive your past and future sins." And in chapter 93: "Did 00:13:13.39\00:13:18.73 he [Allah] not find you [Muhammad] in error and guide 00:13:18.76\00:13:22.26 you?" So we acknowledge that Muhammad was the perfect man 00:13:22.30\00:13:26.90 but the perfection in Islamic tradition still allows sins and 00:13:26.94\00:13:32.07 errors. So yes, perfect, good, but really you cannot be an 00:13:32.11\00:13:39.95 example if you have exceptions like the exception was given to 00:13:39.98\00:13:43.69 him to marry more than four. So either example or exception, 00:13:43.72\00:13:48.32 not both. So did Muhammad keep up to the teachings. Well to a 00:13:48.36\00:13:54.76 good extent but still there were faults. How about Judaism? 00:13:54.80\00:13:59.73 The words here are: "Thou shalt not kill." "Thou shalt not 00:13:59.77\00:14:03.27 commit adultery." "Thou shalt not bear false witness." Let's 00:14:03.30\00:14:07.58 look at the three Hebrew greats: Abraham, Moses and David. 00:14:07.61\00:14:13.01 Here's Moses: "So he looked this way and that way and when he saw 00:14:13.05\00:14:16.55 no one, he killed him and hid him in the sand." What's that? 00:14:16.58\00:14:20.32 Murder. And the story of Abraham "So he went in to Hagar and she 00:14:20.36\00:14:25.86 conceived." He had sex with Hagar. Hagar was not his wife. 00:14:25.89\00:14:29.03 So that's adultery. And then when you go to the neighboring 00:14:29.06\00:14:32.60 town he tells the king that his wife, Sarah, is actually his 00:14:32.63\00:14:38.27 sister. Well that was a lie. So this big towering prophet still 00:14:38.31\00:14:42.71 indulged in falsehood as well. How about David? The words are: 00:14:42.74\00:14:47.32 "...David sent messengers and took her." Who is her? Bathsheba 00:14:47.35\00:14:51.35 Bathsheba was not his wife. That's committing adultery. And 00:14:51.39\00:14:55.72 then to cover up his actions he takes this husband who's a 00:14:55.76\00:15:02.16 member of his army, sends him into battle specifically to be 00:15:02.20\00:15:06.90 killed. It says: "Set Uriah [the husband] in the forefront of the 00:15:06.94\00:15:11.17 hottest battle...retreat from him that he may be struck down 00:15:11.21\00:15:14.74 and die." Cold-blooded murder. So no Hebrew great ever came up 00:15:14.78\00:15:22.88 to the top of the teachings that they themselves claim and 00:15:22.92\00:15:27.56 proclaimed. Then we come to Christianity. Jesus was accused 00:15:27.59\00:15:33.66 of the sin of blasphemy. Here are the words: Then the Jews 00:15:33.70\00:15:37.87 took up stones to stone him... 'for blasphemy... [and this is 00:15:37.90\00:15:41.17 why they wanted to stone him] because you being a man make 00:15:41.20\00:15:45.71 yourself God.'" So the question is did he break the law. The 00:15:45.74\00:15:49.74 Jews said so; but the writings of John actually claim the 00:15:49.78\00:15:54.32 opposite. They say that he was God. So if he was God, it was 00:15:54.35\00:15:59.29 blasphemy. In fact, John says in John 1:1 "The word [that is 00:15:59.32\00:16:04.09 Jesus] was God." And thus the writings on which we base our 00:16:04.13\00:16:08.93 assessment they stand by him even though he was accused. 00:16:08.96\00:16:12.93 So the accusation was there but it was not upheld in the 00:16:12.97\00:16:18.04 writings themselves. So we'll set aside the question of 00:16:18.07\00:16:22.64 blasphemy. He was accused but it was not sustained in the 00:16:22.68\00:16:26.08 writings. And now we go to 12 statements in the writings to 00:16:26.11\00:16:29.85 see how they pan out. Here is the first statement by Pilot: 00:16:29.88\00:16:35.42 Now Pilot was a Roman governor. Romans and Jews were not exactly 00:16:35.46\00:16:40.43 friends. In fact, they hated one another with a passion. And yet 00:16:40.46\00:16:45.60 this is what Pilot, a Roman governor, is talking about a Jew 00:16:45.63\00:16:50.04 Jesus. "And indeed having examined him in your presence 00:16:50.07\00:16:54.04 I have found no fault in this man." And in the book of John 00:16:54.08\00:16:58.28 it said: "I find no fault in him at all." And then he endorses 00:16:58.31\00:17:04.22 that and quotes Herod by saying Herod also found no fault 00:17:04.25\00:17:08.86 because he sent him back. So these two were the first in our 00:17:08.89\00:17:14.40 list. Number three: Pilot's wife During the trial she sent a note 00:17:14.43\00:17:18.23 to Pilot. She said, watch what you are doing about this man who 00:17:18.27\00:17:22.57 is in your court. I've heard about him and in fact I saw in 00:17:22.60\00:17:29.08 a dream, this man is a just man. The word just means good, 00:17:29.11\00:17:35.35 blameless. Number four: The Roman centurion. These hardened 00:17:35.38\00:17:42.22 soldiers knew what criminals looked like and he was in charge 00:17:42.26\00:17:46.13 of the crucifixion. And when he saw the way Jesus behaved his 00:17:46.16\00:17:50.93 words, his whole demeanor. Boy! This was different. And so at 00:17:50.97\00:17:57.97 the point of his death when he saw how he died, what happened 00:17:58.01\00:18:01.21 around him, these are his words: "Certainly this was a righteous 00:18:01.24\00:18:07.55 man." The thief on the cross: Jesus was crucified between two 00:18:07.58\00:18:14.32 thieves. One of them turned to Jesus and said, Hey if you are 00:18:14.36\00:18:18.86 the Son of God and a Messiah and have tremendous power and a 00:18:18.89\00:18:25.33 energy and authority why don't you come down from the cross and 00:18:25.37\00:18:28.74 also take us down. The other thief turned to him and chided 00:18:28.77\00:18:34.28 him and said, Look you and I are dying here, crucified, because 00:18:34.31\00:18:40.52 of what we did which was wrong and evil. And then he says these 00:18:40.55\00:18:45.85 words: "But this man [pointing to Jesus] has done nothing wrong 00:18:45.89\00:18:51.09 Now all these five saw him from a distance. So from a distance 00:18:51.13\00:18:57.57 well yeah, he appears to be okay. What about those who were 00:18:57.60\00:19:02.00 close to Jesus? You know there's a tradition in the east between 00:19:02.04\00:19:07.28 a rabbi and his followers who was called a talmidim. And in 00:19:07.31\00:19:11.31 India we have the guru and the follower who is called a shishya 00:19:11.35\00:19:14.75 The relationship is very strong and peculiar. The talmidim, the 00:19:14.78\00:19:20.66 the follower of a rabbi has to leave home to follow the 00:19:20.69\00:19:25.46 master. Why? Because he must follow him to the extent of 00:19:25.49\00:19:29.96 becoming like him and here's one of the prayers that the parents 00:19:30.00\00:19:35.00 prayed over the son who was now going to be a follower of this 00:19:35.04\00:19:39.21 rabbi. It was great honor the family if a rabbi came by and 00:19:39.24\00:19:44.95 said I would like your son to be a follower of mine. So this is 00:19:44.98\00:19:48.58 the prayer they would say. May the dust of your rabbi cover 00:19:48.62\00:19:54.86 your garments. The dust coming from his sandals cover your 00:19:54.89\00:20:02.46 garment. What's the meaning? May you follow so closely your 00:20:02.50\00:20:08.20 rabbi that in the end you will be like your rabbi. Go close to 00:20:08.24\00:20:13.58 him. The sandals' dust that comes up must come onto your 00:20:13.61\00:20:16.68 garment. In other words, watch him. As he speaks, so should you 00:20:16.71\00:20:22.88 speak. As he walks, you will walk. As he eats, you will eat. 00:20:22.92\00:20:26.89 Compare, copy him in all his mannerisms and all his teachings 00:20:26.92\00:20:34.96 and all his philosophy. In other words be close to him at all 00:20:35.00\00:20:39.33 times. Jesus, as a rabbi, had talmidim and they followed him 00:20:39.37\00:20:46.34 day after day. So here's one of them. John, who watched Jesus. 00:20:46.37\00:20:50.75 Now John obviously wants to be like Jesus so he watched him 00:20:50.78\00:20:54.35 from morning till evening, day after day, week after week, 00:20:54.38\00:20:58.85 month after month, year after year for three and a half years 00:20:58.89\00:21:02.42 continuously. And at the end of that continuous close 00:21:02.46\00:21:08.36 observation here is his assessment: "...in Him there is 00:21:08.40\00:21:12.10 no sin." How about Peter, another talmidim, another 00:21:12.13\00:21:17.01 follower: He said "Christ... without blemish and without 00:21:17.04\00:21:21.84 spot." Disciple another one, Paul: he "...was in all points 00:21:21.88\00:21:28.12 tempted as we are [and] yet without sin." Can you see a 00:21:28.15\00:21:34.26 tendency with all these people? They seem to be looking at him 00:21:34.29\00:21:38.93 examining him and not really finding that which discredits 00:21:38.96\00:21:42.93 him. Well these disciples were his good ones. How about a 00:21:42.96\00:21:47.30 disloyal disciple? Judas. He had betrayed him. And then when he 00:21:47.34\00:21:52.97 realized his mistake he went back to the priests and he threw 00:21:53.01\00:21:55.81 the money back at them and said No I don't want this money 00:21:55.84\00:21:59.18 because is I who have sinned, I have betrayed this man who is 00:21:59.21\00:22:04.12 innocent. He used the words innocent blood meaning this man 00:22:04.15\00:22:07.52 was innocent. So we have nine stating the same thing. The 00:22:07.56\00:22:12.53 tenth one is quite peculiar and quite powerful. Jesus is the 00:22:12.56\00:22:17.97 only founder of a major religion who is referenced in the 00:22:18.00\00:22:22.47 writings of another major religion. He is referenced 90 00:22:22.50\00:22:27.94 times and more in the holy Quran the book of Islam. Sixteen times 00:22:27.98\00:22:37.79 he's identified by his mother's name. In those days it was 00:22:37.82\00:22:40.76 usually a father's name. Son of so and so. But here Jesus and he 00:22:40.79\00:22:46.03 also was called Jesus the son of Mary. And in the Quran is says 00:22:46.06\00:22:50.77 Eesa ibn Maryam more than 16 times, Jesus the son of Mary. 00:22:50.80\00:22:55.67 and more than 10 times he is given the title al-Maseeh, the 00:22:55.70\00:23:02.38 Messiah in the Quran. And there are other words in the Quran 00:23:02.41\00:23:06.41 about the life of Jesus. In chapter three and verse 46: 00:23:06.45\00:23:10.42 It says, "He shall lead a righteous life." And the one who 00:23:10.45\00:23:16.29 spoke to his mother, the angel, described his life: "Holy and 00:23:16.32\00:23:22.33 blameless son." Remember this is the same Quran that acknowledged 00:23:22.36\00:23:27.70 that Muhammad did 00:23:27.74\00:23:29.67 have sins and errors. And here the same Quran is saying that 00:23:29.70\00:23:36.54 he is a righteous life, blameless Son. How about his own 00:23:36.58\00:23:41.88 conscience. Now how many of us, you and I, can look into our 00:23:41.92\00:23:45.79 lives and say everything is fine we never made a mistake in our 00:23:45.82\00:23:48.59 lives. Nobody can say that. But there was a time when Jesus 00:23:48.62\00:23:55.66 faced his bitterest critics, those who were thirsting for his 00:23:55.70\00:24:00.27 life and he turned to them and said Which of you can show one 00:24:00.30\00:24:04.97 sin in my life, the words actually "Which of you convicts 00:24:05.01\00:24:08.34 me of sin?" In other words, can you prove sin in me? You know 00:24:08.38\00:24:12.61 what the response was? Silence. Now, look through history. How 00:24:12.65\00:24:17.75 many public figures can you find who would look at their 00:24:17.79\00:24:22.82 bitterest enemies who are thirsting for their death and 00:24:22.86\00:24:26.36 challenges them to find one mistake, and the response is 00:24:26.39\00:24:31.93 silence. I believe you will not find any. On the screen is the 00:24:31.97\00:24:36.20 word K'ung Ch'iu. That's his Chinese name. His western name 00:24:36.24\00:24:39.87 is Confucius. Now if you know anything about Confucius he was 00:24:39.91\00:24:45.01 a wonderful man, generous, benevolent, loving and kind and 00:24:45.05\00:24:48.85 everything that goes to make a person wonderful and yet look at 00:24:48.88\00:24:53.29 his own words: "How dare I claim to be sage or a benevolent man?" 00:24:53.32\00:24:57.79 So even Confucius agreed that he was not up to the mark. But when 00:24:57.83\00:25:02.80 you look then at Jesus who said there seems to be nothing in my 00:25:02.83\00:25:06.43 life, in my whole conscience. It's amazing. Number 12: In the 00:25:06.47\00:25:11.81 Sanhedrin they asked him this question: "Are you then the Son 00:25:11.84\00:25:14.98 of God?" And they put him to death for that question. 00:25:15.01\00:25:18.18 Now in a trial 00:25:18.21\00:25:21.08 you don't put them to death because of their claim as to who 00:25:21.12\00:25:25.85 they are. You put them to death because of what they did or did 00:25:25.89\00:25:28.49 not do. Now in that trial they did bring witnesses over and 00:25:28.52\00:25:32.93 over, and they could not find any reason to put him to death 00:25:32.96\00:25:36.67 could not find a fault. So the chief priest shifted 00:25:36.70\00:25:40.24 out the question 00:25:40.27\00:25:41.64 from what did you do or what did you not do to who are you. That 00:25:41.67\00:25:46.98 shift tells me that his life was perfect, what he did, what he 00:25:47.01\00:25:52.91 did not do met the highest standard. In other words, 00:25:52.95\00:25:56.35 15 million minutes of life on this earth, in the midst of a 00:25:56.38\00:25:59.39 wicked and corrupt generation - and every thought, every deed 00:25:59.42\00:26:02.26 every purpose, every work, privately and publicly, from the 00:26:02.29\00:26:05.53 time he opened His baby eyes until He expired on the cross, 00:26:05.56\00:26:08.20 were all approved of God. Never once did our Lord have to 00:26:08.23\00:26:12.60 confess any sin, for He had no sin." "He alone carried the 00:26:12.63\00:26:18.21 spotless purity of childhood untarnished through youth and 00:26:18.24\00:26:21.21 manhood." "Christ's self-conscious purity is 00:26:21.24\00:26:24.31 astonishing." "Sinless perfection and perfect 00:26:24.35\00:26:27.12 sinlessness is what we would expect of God-incarnate, and 00:26:27.15\00:26:30.15 this we find in Jesus. The hypothesis and facts concur." 00:26:30.19\00:26:35.46 In other words, what we would expect is what we find. Amazing. 00:26:35.49\00:26:39.89 Now look at the consistency of his life. He said he was God. 00:26:39.93\00:26:46.13 And when he came down from being God, he said I bring the message 00:26:46.17\00:26:52.01 in myself. I am the message. If he came from there of course 00:26:52.04\00:26:56.81 he would be the message. And if he really was the message, then 00:26:56.85\00:27:01.85 we should expect that that life would be permeated by the 00:27:01.88\00:27:06.35 message to the extent that there would be no mistake at all. 00:27:06.39\00:27:11.06 And that's exactly what we find here. God incarnate bringing the 00:27:11.09\00:27:18.67 message in himself so that he himself is the message and 00:27:18.70\00:27:21.84 living it out to perfection. An amazing record. 00:27:21.87\00:27:26.21 Is that another red marble? 00:27:26.24\00:27:29.74 If you have enjoyed this presentation with Dr. Subodh 00:27:29.78\00:27:33.28 Pandit and wish to watch more of this unique 13 part series for 00:27:33.31\00:27:38.32 free online visit the website GodFactOrFiction.com.
