It's enriched with vitamins. 00:03:41.79\00:03:44.74 And hey, babies love milk, and I do too. 00:03:44.77\00:03:47.91 Nothing better than a good 00:04:03.60\00:04:04.83 old-fashioned American milkshake. 00:04:04.86\00:04:07.37 Back to you, Rico. 00:04:07.40\00:04:08.60 We've heard everything now, haven't we? 00:04:10.01\00:04:12.25 So a milkshake is American. 00:04:12.28\00:04:16.47 Is that true? 00:04:16.50\00:04:17.54 So they say. 00:04:17.57\00:04:18.80 So how do you feel about this whole idea 00:04:18.83\00:04:20.95 that it's un-American to not drink 00:04:20.99\00:04:23.83 a milkshake or drink milk? 00:04:23.86\00:04:25.72 Let's break this whole thing down 00:04:25.75\00:04:27.10 because there are lot of myths and misconceptions about milk. 00:04:27.17\00:04:30.06 Would you say so? 00:04:30.09\00:04:31.15 Absolutely. 00:04:31.18\00:04:32.21 So let's begin to share with the audience 00:04:32.24\00:04:34.11 some of your-- you know, 00:04:34.14\00:04:35.86 you deal with this all the time, 00:04:35.89\00:04:36.92 you deal with patients who come in, 00:04:36.95\00:04:38.64 they've got allergies, they've got diabetes, 00:04:38.67\00:04:40.79 you were saying type 1 diabetes more in young children, 00:04:40.82\00:04:45.19 juvenile onset diabetes. 00:04:45.22\00:04:47.69 Talk to us a little bit about milk 00:04:47.72\00:04:49.86 and is it really good for the body? 00:04:49.89\00:04:52.33 You bring up several points 00:04:52.36\00:04:53.48 that are really extremely important. 00:04:53.51\00:04:55.27 First of all, milk does a body good 00:04:55.30\00:04:58.60 until about the age of two to three. 00:04:58.63\00:05:01.10 That's the problem. Milk is designed for a baby. 00:05:01.13\00:05:05.13 And every mammal nurses its young until they wean 00:05:05.16\00:05:11.06 and then they never go back to the breast. 00:05:11.09\00:05:13.49 They never continue nursing. 00:05:13.52\00:05:16.04 Also, ordinarily, no mammal ever nurses 00:05:16.07\00:05:19.40 from another species, and the reason is simple. 00:05:19.43\00:05:23.54 Milk of every mother for that animal contains 00:05:23.57\00:05:26.94 what it requires for that animal to grow 00:05:26.97\00:05:29.98 and double its size in a certain amount of time. 00:05:30.01\00:05:33.85 Now hold on, I'm just gonna jump in for a second 00:05:33.88\00:05:35.98 because I want really unpack that some more. 00:05:36.01\00:05:38.47 But a lot of people out there are listening, 00:05:38.50\00:05:41.11 they are watching and they are thinking, 00:05:41.14\00:05:42.47 wait a minute, I saw this amazing campaign of "Got Milk?" 00:05:42.50\00:05:47.79 And we saw all of these celebrities 00:05:47.82\00:05:49.90 with milk mustaches. 00:05:49.93\00:05:52.54 You know some of them, and not personally, 00:05:52.57\00:05:55.52 but you know of some of them and we saw this campaign 00:05:55.55\00:05:58.96 where they were pushing, pushing, 00:05:58.99\00:06:01.08 pushing milk does a body good. 00:06:01.11\00:06:03.13 Do you have milk? 00:06:03.16\00:06:04.48 So, I mean, is that-- 00:06:04.51\00:06:06.22 people are thinking is that true, is that-- 00:06:06.25\00:06:07.57 were they lying to? 00:06:07.60\00:06:08.65 Is what-- what do we make of that? 00:06:08.68\00:06:09.93 That's a good question. 00:06:09.96\00:06:11.82 It's true partly and untrue in a major way. 00:06:11.85\00:06:15.99 It is true for the child. 00:06:16.02\00:06:18.50 I'll give you an example, a simple example. 00:06:18.53\00:06:21.56 A mother's milk for a human is very low protein, 00:06:21.59\00:06:25.83 in fact, the lowest of any mammal virtually 00:06:25.86\00:06:29.04 and is designed to let the infant grow 00:06:29.07\00:06:31.55 to double its size in about 120 days about 4 months. 00:06:31.58\00:06:36.92 A cow has about three times the protein 00:06:36.95\00:06:40.77 that a mother's milk has and that calf grows 00:06:40.80\00:06:44.51 in about 45 days to double its weight. 00:06:44.54\00:06:48.23 Now if you want very high protein milk 00:06:48.26\00:06:51.14 a rat has about 20% protein so does a blue whale. 00:06:51.17\00:06:56.79 But I don't think-- 00:06:56.82\00:06:57.85 That's a little hard for me to just process, 00:06:57.88\00:06:59.16 a rat-- rat's milk. 00:06:59.19\00:07:00.38 Rat's milk. It's not a growth industry. 00:07:00.41\00:07:04.55 But-- 00:07:04.58\00:07:05.64 That's high protein. 00:07:05.67\00:07:06.71 Yeah, now I was gonna jump in and just ask the question 00:07:06.74\00:07:09.88 because or make the comment because you are making 00:07:09.91\00:07:12.99 a very good point in that when we see an animal, 00:07:13.02\00:07:16.50 say in the wild there is a reason 00:07:16.53\00:07:18.61 why that animal or that calf 00:07:18.64\00:07:21.35 needs to double its weight very quickly. 00:07:21.38\00:07:23.56 Survival. 00:07:23.59\00:07:24.62 For survival. 00:07:24.65\00:07:25.68 That's exactly right. Yeah, continue. 00:07:25.71\00:07:27.65 So our milk has not just protein 00:07:27.68\00:07:31.56 but also fats and sugars 00:07:31.59\00:07:33.98 and antibodies and nutrients of all kind 00:07:34.01\00:07:37.61 and immune system components to strengthen 00:07:37.64\00:07:40.45 that baby as the baby is nursing. 00:07:40.48\00:07:44.10 Now about the age of two 00:07:44.13\00:07:46.89 the baby starts losing certain ways of-- 00:07:46.92\00:07:49.29 certain enzymes to digest that milk. 00:07:49.32\00:07:52.14 So now the milk is not only not digested 00:07:52.17\00:07:55.13 but the constituents in the milk 00:07:55.16\00:07:57.02 that aren't digested 00:07:57.05\00:07:58.41 become actively antagonist to the body. 00:07:58.44\00:08:02.38 So after the age of weaning no longer does the body good. 00:08:02.41\00:08:07.55 So what you you're saying that it's only a half truth. 00:08:07.58\00:08:11.51 Yes. 00:08:11.54\00:08:12.59 Yes, it does a body good. 00:08:12.62\00:08:13.75 We put it into prospective here for you. 00:08:13.78\00:08:15.82 It does a body good up to certain point 00:08:15.85\00:08:18.81 and then that child needs to be weaned from the milk. 00:08:18.84\00:08:23.78 Yes. 00:08:23.81\00:08:25.40 Ah. Okay, I see. Continue. 00:08:25.43\00:08:27.29 Now if the child takes from another animal 00:08:27.32\00:08:31.50 like a cow as a wet nurse. 00:08:31.53\00:08:34.23 Then that child is getting all the hormones, 00:08:34.26\00:08:36.82 the fats, the sugars 00:08:36.85\00:08:38.00 the proteins intended for a calf. 00:08:38.03\00:08:41.59 The problem is it's not designed for us. 00:08:41.62\00:08:44.80 And in my practice I see serious 00:08:44.83\00:08:47.13 down sides with this on a daily basis. 00:08:47.16\00:08:50.09 Why don't you share with us some of the down sides, 00:08:50.12\00:08:52.80 let's look at those-- 00:08:52.83\00:08:53.92 Happily. Okay. 00:08:53.95\00:08:55.55 One of the most common symptoms I find in milk drinkers 00:08:55.58\00:08:58.79 after weaning is symptoms that I call wet. 00:08:58.82\00:09:03.28 Wet? Wet. 00:09:03.31\00:09:04.97 Wet symptoms like sinusitis, post nasal drips-- 00:09:05.00\00:09:08.97 Running nose. 00:09:09.00\00:09:10.04 Mucus generating symptoms, 00:09:10.07\00:09:12.97 including by the way in the gut. 00:09:13.00\00:09:15.56 Many people bowel function 00:09:15.59\00:09:17.21 is terribly distorted by taking in dairy. 00:09:17.24\00:09:20.26 Constipation or diarrhea is an example. 00:09:20.29\00:09:23.05 But also what I find in about 98% of my patients load 00:09:23.08\00:09:27.19 because we test for allergies, we test for hyper sensitivity 00:09:27.22\00:09:30.55 is they have a hyper sensitive reaction to the dairy protein 00:09:30.58\00:09:37.38 and they can't digest it effectively. 00:09:37.41\00:09:40.40 So what percentage of the American population 00:09:40.43\00:09:44.76 or even the world population for that matter 00:09:44.79\00:09:47.72 is what we would call lactose intolerant? 00:09:47.75\00:09:50.97 All right, those are two separate issues. 00:09:51.00\00:09:52.60 Okay. 00:09:52.63\00:09:53.66 Lactose intolerance is in about 70% of the population. 00:09:53.69\00:09:58.16 Most of the world except for central European 00:09:58.19\00:10:01.14 and northern European but the rest of the world 00:10:01.17\00:10:04.03 generally is lactose intolerant. 00:10:04.06\00:10:06.32 But virtually all the world is casein intolerant. 00:10:06.35\00:10:09.93 Ah, and what is casein let's explain to the audience 00:10:09.96\00:10:13.01 what is this word casein. 00:10:13.04\00:10:14.73 Now this is important. 00:10:14.76\00:10:16.11 Casein is the dairy protein that's why emphasize 00:10:16.14\00:10:20.93 the little amount of protein in mother's milk 00:10:20.96\00:10:24.02 and the greater amount of protein 00:10:24.05\00:10:25.40 for example in cow or sheep or goat milk or camel milk. 00:10:25.43\00:10:29.76 The protein is the issue. 00:10:29.79\00:10:31.80 So when we take in the protein and can't fully digest it 00:10:31.83\00:10:35.76 that protein doesn't get fully broken down 00:10:35.79\00:10:37.95 in to its amino acids the basic building blocks of protein. 00:10:37.98\00:10:42.62 And digestion requires that protein is broken down 00:10:42.65\00:10:45.55 to its smallest molecule so we can take it across 00:10:45.58\00:10:48.77 the gut wall and use it to build our bodies. 00:10:48.80\00:10:52.42 If however that protein is not all the way broken down-- 00:10:52.45\00:10:55.67 What happens to it? 00:10:55.70\00:10:56.76 Oh, now the immune system sees it as a foreign protein. 00:10:56.79\00:11:01.37 Like it would see a virus or a bacteria for example. 00:11:01.40\00:11:05.05 And the immune system now attacks 00:11:05.08\00:11:07.23 that protein to get it out of the system. 00:11:07.26\00:11:11.03 One of the ways it attacks it is by generating histamine 00:11:11.06\00:11:16.37 and the guts cells have-- 00:11:16.40\00:11:18.13 What is histamine? So that-- 00:11:18.16\00:11:19.72 I'll explain. Okay. 00:11:19.75\00:11:20.78 We have in our gut certain cells that make histamine 00:11:20.81\00:11:25.51 that when we get a foreign protein histamine bursts 00:11:25.54\00:11:29.29 and it causes the reaction of mucus to be produced 00:11:29.32\00:11:32.27 from the cells that create mucus in the gut. 00:11:32.30\00:11:35.29 So mucus starts to flow. 00:11:35.32\00:11:37.42 The reason is the body wants to washout 00:11:37.45\00:11:39.70 that invading protein 00:11:39.73\00:11:41.85 and that's its first round of response to get rid of it. 00:11:41.88\00:11:45.53 And we start developing wet symptoms 00:11:45.56\00:11:48.09 from the mucus production. 00:11:48.12\00:11:50.14 Also an immunoglobulin is called the kind of chemistry 00:11:50.17\00:11:54.17 that the body creates, 00:11:54.20\00:11:56.05 tags that protein and locks on to it to attract 00:11:56.08\00:12:00.39 the other parts of the immune system to destroy it. 00:12:00.42\00:12:03.67 It's called an immune reaction. 00:12:03.70\00:12:05.84 Can I ask a question about that? 00:12:05.87\00:12:07.39 Because I'm-- my understanding is that 00:12:07.42\00:12:10.40 this is related to, 00:12:10.43\00:12:12.25 connected to type 1 diabetes in lot of the children 00:12:12.28\00:12:16.77 where their pancreas is unable to produce insulin, 00:12:16.80\00:12:21.86 because it has been attacked 00:12:21.89\00:12:24.04 by an auto immune type of situation. 00:12:24.07\00:12:26.69 Is that connected to that? 00:12:26.72\00:12:28.34 Yes, that's exactly, I'm glad that you bring that up. 00:12:28.37\00:12:30.14 It is precisely connected to it in this way. 00:12:30.17\00:12:33.29 When we react to that undigested protein 00:12:33.32\00:12:37.46 and this immunoglobulin is attached to that protein, 00:12:37.49\00:12:41.51 they star-- they then start to surveil 00:12:41.54\00:12:43.58 through the rest of the body circulating through the blood 00:12:43.61\00:12:47.24 to attack similar kinds of proteins to attach to them, 00:12:47.27\00:12:52.20 to neutralize them and get them out of the body. 00:12:52.23\00:12:54.24 Okay. 00:12:54.27\00:12:55.30 The difficulty is when one of our own tissues 00:12:55.33\00:12:58.06 looks like that same protein as for example 00:12:58.09\00:13:01.33 certain cells in the pancreas, the islets of Langerhans 00:13:01.36\00:13:04.13 they are called looks like the casein structure. 00:13:04.16\00:13:08.22 Wow. 00:13:08.25\00:13:09.28 And now the immune system says 00:13:09.31\00:13:10.48 "oh, you must be just like casein, 00:13:10.51\00:13:11.95 I'm gonna attack you also." 00:13:11.98\00:13:14.16 It turns out that 100% type 1 diabetics, 00:13:14.19\00:13:18.06 the juvenile onset diabetics are casein intolerant 100%, 00:13:18.09\00:13:23.78 and when you measure 00:13:23.81\00:13:24.84 their casein intolerance it's extremely high. 00:13:24.87\00:13:29.87 Let's make this very, very practical. 00:13:29.90\00:13:32.49 So what we're saying is that when the mom at home 00:13:32.52\00:13:36.46 is thinking under the understanding 00:13:36.49\00:13:41.56 that she is doing something very good for her child 00:13:41.59\00:13:45.26 and giving him or her a glass of milk, 00:13:45.29\00:13:49.08 she is actually putting his or her body under attack. 00:13:49.11\00:13:54.09 Yes, and causing a stress to the gut, 00:13:54.12\00:13:58.46 creating inflammation in the gut, 00:13:58.49\00:14:00.91 now affecting not just 00:14:00.94\00:14:02.47 the digestion of the casein of the milk, 00:14:02.50\00:14:05.59 but also other proteins from other foods as well. 00:14:05.62\00:14:09.33 Some maybe just writing of this whole idea 00:14:09.36\00:14:11.80 of type 1 diabetes okay, 00:14:11.83\00:14:14.38 we've heard about it but this is very serious. 00:14:14.41\00:14:16.07 Isn't it? 00:14:16.10\00:14:17.13 Because once the pancreas is no longer producing insulin 00:14:17.16\00:14:22.03 you have to do, what for the rest of your life? 00:14:22.06\00:14:24.62 Take insulin injections. 00:14:24.65\00:14:27.81 Now there's more to it than this. 00:14:27.84\00:14:30.94 People that don't contend with type 1 diabetes 00:14:30.97\00:14:34.09 or juvenile onset diabetes are still having to deal 00:14:34.12\00:14:37.24 with the consequence the down side of drinking milk 00:14:37.27\00:14:41.28 or cheese or yogurt or even butter for that matter. 00:14:41.31\00:14:45.06 Any form of dairy. 00:14:45.09\00:14:46.96 Because that protein is still taken into the body 00:14:46.99\00:14:50.34 and the body still don't tolerate it. 00:14:50.37\00:14:52.66 Maybe not to the extent of attacking the pancreas, 00:14:52.69\00:14:56.04 but it does attack other tissues 00:14:56.07\00:14:58.53 in terms of creating inflammatory response, 00:14:58.56\00:15:01.11 including the brain. 00:15:01.14\00:15:03.15 Including the brain? Yes. 00:15:03.18\00:15:04.70 Now I know some people are out there wondering, 00:15:04.73\00:15:06.48 they're thinking now who is this affecting mostly 00:15:06.51\00:15:10.43 in terms of ethnicity, 00:15:10.46\00:15:12.50 what's the demographic breakdown? 00:15:12.54\00:15:14.70 Who is this affecting the most? 00:15:14.73\00:15:16.73 Everybody. 00:15:16.76\00:15:18.04 Everybody? Yes. 00:15:18.07\00:15:19.14 The casein is affecting everybody, the lack-- 00:15:19.17\00:15:21.25 Do we see higher incidents in some-- 00:15:21.28\00:15:24.52 I hear that this is more prevalent 00:15:24.55\00:15:27.17 within the African-American communities, 00:15:27.20\00:15:33.12 amongst Asians, 00:15:33.15\00:15:35.69 what's your research say? 00:15:35.72\00:15:36.79 You're referring to the lactose which is the milk sugar. 00:15:36.82\00:15:41.04 And yes, the African community, 00:15:41.07\00:15:43.80 the Asian community all community 00:15:43.83\00:15:46.75 except for the central and northern European community 00:15:46.78\00:15:50.28 tend to react poorly to lactose. 00:15:50.31\00:15:53.82 And everybody reacts poorly to casein. 00:15:53.85\00:15:57.10 Everyone? Yes. 00:15:57.13\00:15:58.27 That's across the board. Across the board. 00:15:58.30\00:16:00.10 So if we are talking about 00:16:00.13\00:16:01.55 is there some country that consumes 00:16:01.58\00:16:03.74 large amounts of dairy 00:16:03.77\00:16:05.67 what do we see amongst those groups? 00:16:05.70\00:16:07.23 Oh, that's a great question. 00:16:07.26\00:16:08.88 We see that for example especially in the north-- 00:16:08.91\00:16:11.29 northern European cultures 00:16:11.32\00:16:13.49 where they consume a large quantity 00:16:13.52\00:16:15.19 of dairy, milk, cheese, etc. 00:16:15.22\00:16:18.62 They also tend to have highest incidents of fractures 00:16:18.65\00:16:23.03 and osteoporosis 00:16:23.06\00:16:24.58 or demineralization of bone and-- 00:16:24.61\00:16:26.03 So that's the breaking down of the bones 00:16:26.06\00:16:27.56 or the weakening of the bone. 00:16:27.59\00:16:28.63 Yes and here's why. 00:16:28.66\00:16:30.43 When we drink milk or take in cheese for example 00:16:30.46\00:16:34.37 the reaction the body has is an acid kind of reaction. 00:16:34.40\00:16:38.79 The body then has to neutralize that acid 00:16:38.82\00:16:41.81 because the blood wants to be slightly alkaline. 00:16:41.84\00:16:46.47 And the body has very definite 00:16:46.50\00:16:48.67 and tiered or three level controls 00:16:48.70\00:16:51.99 of keeping the body 00:16:52.02\00:16:53.09 at a very fine tunes PH slightly alkaline. 00:16:53.12\00:16:58.43 When we take in that acid food 00:16:58.46\00:17:00.96 one of those mechanisms is releasing 00:17:00.99\00:17:02.89 a slightly alkalinizing effect called calcium 00:17:02.92\00:17:07.60 and the greatest reserve of that calcium 00:17:07.63\00:17:09.42 is from our bones. 00:17:09.45\00:17:11.13 So the body stars leeching calcium from the bone 00:17:11.16\00:17:14.63 to alkalize the acidity 00:17:14.66\00:17:16.19 from the dairy weakening the bone structure. 00:17:16.22\00:17:19.10 Wait a minute, Doctor. 00:17:19.13\00:17:20.16 You just caused peoples heads to explode. 00:17:20.19\00:17:22.65 I know. 00:17:22.68\00:17:23.71 Their heads have just exploded. Why? 00:17:23.74\00:17:25.49 Because people are been told 00:17:25.52\00:17:28.23 drink you milk for strong bones and teeth. 00:17:28.26\00:17:31.71 Is not what people are saying, they get vitamin D. 00:17:31.74\00:17:33.72 The vitamin D, 00:17:33.75\00:17:34.78 that vitamin is supposed to sort of sure up 00:17:34.81\00:17:37.56 our bones and teeth. 00:17:37.59\00:17:38.94 Exactly. So... 00:17:38.97\00:17:41.01 The problem is the demographics. 00:17:41.04\00:17:44.22 The people for whom that ad is appropriate are under two. 00:17:44.25\00:17:50.91 Above that, it's not a true statement. 00:17:50.94\00:17:53.38 So it's doing the opposite. 00:17:53.41\00:17:55.06 It's actually causing the bones 00:17:55.09\00:17:57.49 to become weak and brittle and... 00:17:57.52\00:17:59.37 Yes. 00:17:59.40\00:18:00.43 Well, you know what, speaking of the demographics 00:18:00.46\00:18:02.24 we should probably check in with sickness 00:18:02.27\00:18:03.94 because we sent him out on to the streets 00:18:03.97\00:18:06.98 to talk to those who love their milk, 00:18:07.01\00:18:10.36 who basically want to drink milkshakes 00:18:10.39\00:18:13.47 just like him, all right. 00:18:13.50\00:18:15.18 So let's see what they have to say. 00:18:15.21\00:18:18.39 All right. So, lady, tell me your name. 00:18:18.42\00:18:20.90 Rosy. Rosy. 00:18:20.93\00:18:22.13 Riley. And Riley. 00:18:22.16\00:18:24.24 I would have preferred your hair to be blue, 00:18:24.27\00:18:26.15 but that's-- that's okay. 00:18:26.18\00:18:28.38 Now let me-- let me ask you ladies. 00:18:28.41\00:18:29.93 Do you drink milk? I love milk. 00:18:29.96\00:18:32.03 Love milk. I love-- 00:18:32.06\00:18:33.15 I love you. How about you? 00:18:33.18\00:18:34.47 Only at night. 00:18:34.50\00:18:35.95 Only at night. Why at night? 00:18:35.98\00:18:37.23 Because that's the only time I eat cereal. 00:18:37.26\00:18:38.95 Ah, so cereal with your milk. Yeah. 00:18:38.98\00:18:40.48 That's why it tastes so good. 00:18:40.51\00:18:41.69 Cereal on milk and milk on cereal. 00:18:41.72\00:18:44.20 Do you like milk, don't you? 00:18:44.23\00:18:45.76 Ah, sometimes. Yeah, my man. 00:18:45.79\00:18:47.38 I like it in ice cream. And I cream. 00:18:47.41\00:18:50.06 Forget the regular stuff just go straight 00:18:50.09\00:18:51.66 to the cold goodness. 00:18:51.69\00:18:53.50 Man, me and cow we're buddies. 00:18:53.53\00:18:55.14 This is fantastic. 00:18:55.17\00:18:56.23 Hey let me ask you, you like milk? 00:18:56.26\00:18:57.84 Lactose intolerant. I'm testing today. 00:18:57.87\00:19:00.14 This guy is quitting on everything. 00:19:00.17\00:19:02.63 Why did you become lactose intolerant? 00:19:02.66\00:19:03.85 What made your decision to that? 00:19:03.88\00:19:06.29 With some mucus always coughing out stuff 00:19:06.32\00:19:08.26 getting stomach cramps and stuff like that. 00:19:08.29\00:19:11.34 So what made you stop drinking milk? 00:19:11.37\00:19:12.79 All that stuff sounds good. 00:19:12.82\00:19:14.71 My parents they made. Oh, they made you, yeah. 00:19:14.74\00:19:16.49 He was forced. 00:19:16.52\00:19:17.95 I was not forced, naturally my body said no, 00:19:17.98\00:19:20.16 and I don't like the way felt when I drink milk. 00:19:20.19\00:19:21.85 So now I drink almond milk and have fun. 00:19:21.88\00:19:25.13 Are one of those health nuts? I am. 00:19:25.16\00:19:27.13 Oh, man did just say you drink almond milk? 00:19:27.16\00:19:30.11 Almond milk, rice milk, hemp milk. 00:19:30.14\00:19:32.14 Oh, man this is like that nut milk stuff right. 00:19:32.17\00:19:34.54 Yeah, nutty. This stuff is nasty. 00:19:34.57\00:19:37.09 Oh, man, you are one of the health nuts. 00:19:37.12\00:19:39.51 Who wants to drink milk from nut, buddy? 00:19:39.54\00:19:41.08 This interview is done. 00:19:41.11\00:19:42.22 You can go down the street Damian 00:19:42.25\00:19:43.79 find you a tree and get milk from a nut. 00:19:43.82\00:19:46.12 Out of here. Get me somebody else. 00:19:46.15\00:19:48.87 This many people can't be wrong. 00:19:48.90\00:19:51.72 Back to you guys in the studio. 00:19:51.75\00:19:53.96 I'm gonna find me a milkshake 00:19:53.99\00:19:55.30 with some creamy ice cream, some vitamin D milk. 00:19:55.33\00:19:57.91 Where do you find that in this town? 00:19:57.94\00:20:02.01 Wow, its amazing 00:20:02.04\00:20:03.44 how many people are so misled by this whole idea 00:20:03.47\00:20:06.85 that milk does the body good, isn't it? 00:20:06.88\00:20:09.13 They love the milk. Sadly. 00:20:09.16\00:20:10.76 And well, you know, 00:20:10.79\00:20:12.05 I want to read a piece or text of scripture 00:20:12.08\00:20:15.99 that I think it's perfect for rest of our conversation. 00:20:16.02\00:20:18.75 And this is found in Isaiah 28:9 and it says, 00:20:18.78\00:20:26.04 "Whom shall he teach knowledge? 00:20:26.07\00:20:28.86 And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? 00:20:28.89\00:20:32.25 Them that are weaned from the milk, 00:20:32.28\00:20:34.54 and drawn from the breasts." 00:20:34.57\00:20:36.38 Amen. 00:20:36.41\00:20:37.47 So God in His-- 00:20:37.50\00:20:39.15 in His word is calling people away from-- 00:20:39.18\00:20:43.62 now we could understand thior think of this is just 00:20:43.65\00:20:47.32 as it applies to the scripture 00:20:47.35\00:20:48.60 but it naturally happens in real life 00:20:48.63\00:20:52.46 where children are weaned from the breast. 00:20:52.49\00:20:56.14 And they ought to begin to take on more solid food. 00:20:56.17\00:20:59.35 So we are trying to get 00:20:59.38\00:21:00.41 some solid food today, aren't we? 00:21:00.44\00:21:01.66 Absolutely. 00:21:01.69\00:21:02.72 So I'm gonna throw out at you a few things 00:21:02.75\00:21:04.38 and I want you to just react to them. 00:21:04.41\00:21:05.92 Asthma. 00:21:05.95\00:21:08.27 Here's the difficulty when we drink milk or cheese-- 00:21:08.30\00:21:12.29 Drink milk or eat cheese. Exactly. 00:21:12.32\00:21:14.65 We take in that casein it triggers an immune reaction 00:21:14.68\00:21:19.46 not just in the gut but also in the lungs. 00:21:19.49\00:21:22.36 There's an immune system tissue 00:21:22.39\00:21:25.07 that is similar in the lungs as it is in the gut 00:21:25.10\00:21:28.17 that is trigger to also generate mucus. 00:21:28.20\00:21:31.03 The effect of that is going to be cold flu's 00:21:31.06\00:21:34.30 and for many cases asthma itself. 00:21:34.33\00:21:37.73 Now you have an additional set of issues 00:21:37.76\00:21:39.93 and I have seen many, many young patients with asthma 00:21:39.96\00:21:43.46 and eczema commonly associated with that 00:21:43.49\00:21:46.99 recover fully when take dairy out of the diet. 00:21:47.02\00:21:50.70 Take dairy out of the diet 00:21:50.73\00:21:52.59 and one can actually 00:21:52.62\00:21:54.37 overcome their asthma or even their eczema. 00:21:54.40\00:21:58.82 Yes. 00:21:58.85\00:21:59.89 Let me throw another one out to you. 00:21:59.92\00:22:01.69 Now I don't if it is true, 00:22:01.72\00:22:03.59 people probably want to know this because it's, 00:22:03.62\00:22:06.60 you know, it's banded about quite a bit. 00:22:06.63\00:22:09.00 It is said that all types of hormones, 00:22:09.03\00:22:12.66 steroids, and antibiotics 00:22:12.69\00:22:16.60 are found in the milk even blood? 00:22:16.63\00:22:20.59 Yes. Is it true? 00:22:20.62\00:22:21.73 As well as, pus. How so? 00:22:21.76\00:22:25.00 In the dairy industry cows are forced to grow rapidly 00:22:25.03\00:22:30.52 because of economics. 00:22:30.55\00:22:33.20 Sadly they are given circumstances 00:22:33.23\00:22:35.80 that are not conducive to the health. 00:22:35.83\00:22:37.97 So they are pumped full of antibiotics 00:22:38.00\00:22:40.08 to sustain their immune system artificially 00:22:40.11\00:22:42.35 because they are in closed quarters 00:22:42.38\00:22:43.48 they don't want sick. 00:22:43.51\00:22:45.16 They are also pumped full of hormones 00:22:45.19\00:22:46.61 to force their growth in milk production 00:22:46.64\00:22:50.30 beyond normal so that they can be milked 00:22:50.33\00:22:53.22 on a continual basis. 00:22:53.25\00:22:54.98 The problem is we take those in ourselves, 00:22:55.01\00:22:58.00 not to mention 00:22:58.03\00:22:59.06 the naturally occurring hormones 00:22:59.09\00:23:00.91 in the cow intending for the calf's growth. 00:23:00.94\00:23:04.04 Now mothers milk also has hormones 00:23:04.07\00:23:06.29 but for humans. 00:23:06.32\00:23:08.08 It also has antibodies 00:23:08.11\00:23:09.63 not antibiotics but antibodies-- 00:23:09.66\00:23:11.63 Cow's, cow's mother has hormones 00:23:11.66\00:23:15.07 but for humans or for calf? 00:23:15.10\00:23:17.53 Only for the calf. 00:23:17.56\00:23:18.65 Only for the calf, okay. Exactly. 00:23:18.68\00:23:20.76 Now human has hormones for the human. 00:23:20.79\00:23:23.44 Now one other quick point 00:23:23.47\00:23:25.38 when a child suckles the breast 00:23:25.41\00:23:28.08 the saliva of the child has a chemistry 00:23:28.11\00:23:31.46 taken up by the mother's breast 00:23:31.49\00:23:33.74 that alters the blood of the mother 00:23:33.77\00:23:36.25 and therefore the milk of the mother to give the child 00:23:36.28\00:23:39.23 what it needs at that moment 00:23:39.26\00:23:42.14 both nutritionally and to support 00:23:42.17\00:23:43.95 immune system of that child. 00:23:43.98\00:23:46.87 We don't get that when we don't nurse 00:23:46.90\00:23:49.84 especially from the other mammal 00:23:49.87\00:23:51.18 that's not designed for that. 00:23:51.21\00:23:52.72 Let me make sure 00:23:52.75\00:23:53.78 I understand what you are saying here. 00:23:53.81\00:23:54.87 So, you're saying that when a nursing child 00:23:54.90\00:24:00.04 is drinking from its mother's breast 00:24:00.07\00:24:03.70 within its own saliva 00:24:03.73\00:24:05.99 there is something that's triggering a signal 00:24:06.02\00:24:10.28 or some type of chemistry 00:24:10.31\00:24:13.21 that the mother's milk 00:24:13.24\00:24:14.46 will respond to keep that baby healthy. 00:24:14.49\00:24:16.47 Yes. 00:24:16.50\00:24:18.58 We can measure in the saliva, 00:24:18.61\00:24:20.59 hormones, nutrients, chemistries of many kinds. 00:24:20.62\00:24:24.50 It is a fluid generated by the blood. 00:24:24.53\00:24:27.18 Wow. So milk doesn't do a body good? 00:24:27.21\00:24:31.48 After two. After two. 00:24:31.51\00:24:33.19 And from our own mom. It doesn't a body good. 00:24:33.22\00:24:35.59 Now we can't just tell people stop drinking milk though. 00:24:35.62\00:24:39.35 Is anything that people can do 00:24:39.38\00:24:40.47 I mean personally I like some of the nut milks. 00:24:40.50\00:24:43.79 Now people as Sickness said 00:24:43.82\00:24:45.87 it's nutty if they drink nut milk. 00:24:45.90\00:24:48.55 What do you think about that? 00:24:48.58\00:24:49.63 I deal with this day in and day out in practice. 00:24:49.66\00:24:52.35 And we help people to transition 00:24:52.38\00:24:54.84 from a dairy based diet to a non-dairy based diet. 00:24:54.87\00:24:59.18 And nut milks for example are great idea. 00:24:59.21\00:25:01.48 Now we are talking about what in terms of nut milks. 00:25:01.51\00:25:04.08 For example simple take a handful of cashews, 00:25:04.11\00:25:07.66 small handful. 00:25:07.69\00:25:08.72 Okay. 00:25:08.75\00:25:09.79 Toss it in the blender with water 00:25:09.82\00:25:11.40 and as my wife says blend the hook out of it. 00:25:11.43\00:25:13.72 The hook out of it. 00:25:13.75\00:25:14.78 The hook out of it. All right. 00:25:14.81\00:25:16.01 Until there's no, nothing left that you have to crunch. 00:25:16.04\00:25:19.63 And it's very creamy once you blend it up with water. 00:25:19.66\00:25:21.52 It's very creamy. 00:25:21.55\00:25:23.63 Also people do the same thing with other kinds of nuts 00:25:23.66\00:25:27.15 or even seeds for examples like sesame seed milk 00:25:27.18\00:25:30.62 it's an example or coconut milk is another option. 00:25:30.65\00:25:33.50 And they all are on the market now, 00:25:33.53\00:25:34.98 aren't they? 00:25:35.01\00:25:36.04 You can get your coconut milk. 00:25:36.07\00:25:37.10 You can get your almond milk, soy milk. 00:25:37.13\00:25:40.38 I have a, quite a preference for almond milk 00:25:40.41\00:25:44.01 and even making it myself because it's the-- 00:25:44.04\00:25:46.41 it's white like milk 00:25:46.44\00:25:47.74 and people are probably thinking what almonds? 00:25:47.77\00:25:50.52 Absolutely you'll have to catch our cooking segment 00:25:50.55\00:25:53.18 where we show you how to make almond milk. 00:25:53.21\00:25:54.32 But you are right. 00:25:54.35\00:25:55.39 You can absolutely take nuts and make your own milk. 00:25:55.42\00:25:58.12 Absolutely. 00:25:58.15\00:25:59.21 I tend to discourage people however from soy milk. 00:25:59.24\00:26:02.93 Why is that? 00:26:02.96\00:26:03.99 Soy is filled with constituents 00:26:04.02\00:26:08.44 that trigger the building up of hormones 00:26:08.47\00:26:11.25 especially estrogen 00:26:11.28\00:26:13.32 but it also can block assimilation 00:26:13.35\00:26:16.39 of proteins and minerals. 00:26:16.42\00:26:18.93 Okay, now. So I'm careful with soy. 00:26:18.96\00:26:21.89 Well, soy, huh, 00:26:21.92\00:26:23.50 well that is in other episode for us to cover. 00:26:23.53\00:26:27.37 Well, you have in tuned to "From Sickness to Health." 00:26:27.40\00:26:30.92 I'm your host Rico Hill and we look forward 00:26:30.95\00:26:33.33 to seeing you on our next broadcast 00:26:33.36\00:26:36.14 where you learn more. 00:26:36.17\00:26:37.55 God bless. 00:26:37.58\00:26:38.96 Well, its true there is nothing like a cold glass of milk. 00:26:43.54\00:26:50.50 I tell you when I was kid I could probably down about 00:26:50.53\00:26:53.72 50 cookies with a cold glass of milk. 00:26:53.75\00:26:58.25 When I found out the issues of milk I tell you, 00:26:58.28\00:27:00.63 I felt like my world was gonna come to an end. 00:27:00.66\00:27:04.06 But then I learned about the options 00:27:04.09\00:27:06.51 that I have the alternatives. 00:27:06.54\00:27:08.47 A lot of the soymilks and the nut milks 00:27:08.50\00:27:11.85 like almond milk and coconut milk and rice milk. 00:27:11.88\00:27:14.86 You know, they taste just as good 00:27:14.89\00:27:17.32 as sometimes even better than the real thing. 00:27:17.35\00:27:20.11 I personally think they are the real thing. 00:27:20.14\00:27:22.72 You know what, why don't you try 00:27:22.75\00:27:23.97 one of those and see how you feel. 00:27:24.00\00:27:26.11 I'll tell you how they feel, 00:27:26.14\00:27:28.14 depressed, discouraged overwhelmed. 00:27:28.17\00:27:31.65 Who do you think like to drink milk from a nut? 00:27:31.68\00:27:34.15 Millions of people do 00:27:34.18\00:27:36.46 and I'll tell you something else, 00:27:36.49\00:27:37.70 they're reversing their diabetes. 00:27:37.73\00:27:39.70 There are not catching cold as easily as they used to, 00:27:39.73\00:27:43.18 they are not having allergies or ear infections, 00:27:43.21\00:27:45.61 the blotting and gas. 00:27:45.64\00:27:47.76 What's wrong with little gas for engine? 00:27:47.79\00:27:49.69 You know what, 00:27:49.72\00:27:50.76 I'm gonna leave this nut milk for you 00:27:50.79\00:27:53.46 health nuts emphasis on nuts. 00:27:53.49\00:27:56.30 Well, I tell you what, 00:27:56.33\00:27:57.65 it's better to be a health nut than a sick nut. 00:27:57.68\00:28:01.35 Exactly-- wait a minute, what? 00:28:01.38\00:28:03.79 And that's the truth. 00:28:03.82\00:28:05.81 Now I'd like to end this program 00:28:05.84\00:28:08.23 with a quotation from 3 John 2 in the Bible it says 00:28:08.26\00:28:13.69 "Beloved, I wish above all things 00:28:13.72\00:28:16.44 that thou mayest prosper and be in health." 00:28:16.47\00:28:20.67 I'm Rico Hill your host. 00:28:20.70\00:28:23.13 And this is... Sickness the blue guy. 00:28:23.16\00:28:27.28 Be healthy.
