As I pointed out, Jesus
said that the story of Noah

was especially significant
for those that would be living

just before He returns,
for He said in Matthew 24
00:01:58.08\00:02:01.35
and Luke 17,
00:02:01.38\00:02:02.72
as it was in the days of Noah.
00:02:02.75\00:02:04.09
And He also added
Lot in Luke Chapter 17.
00:02:04.12\00:02:07.46
So it will be before
the Son of Man returns.

And as I have been
watching and viewing
00:02:11.33\00:02:14.53
the things that have been
taking place in the world,
00:02:14.56\00:02:16.80
especially in the
last couple of decades,
00:02:16.83\00:02:19.40
I am coming to the
conclusion more and more
00:02:19.43\00:02:22.37
with each passing day
that we are indeed living
00:02:22.40\00:02:25.77
on the verge of a
stupendous crisis.
00:02:25.81\00:02:28.41
I really do believe
00:02:28.44\00:02:29.78
that the coming of
Jesus is very, very near.
00:02:29.81\00:02:33.15
And this message is especially
relevant and important
00:02:33.18\00:02:37.32
to those who are living
00:02:37.35\00:02:38.79
at the very close
of earth's history.
00:02:38.82\00:02:41.32
So let's remind ourselves
of the three key points
00:02:41.36\00:02:44.66
that come out of
the story of Noah.
00:02:44.69\00:02:46.86
Firstly, we discover
that the story of Noah
00:02:46.90\00:02:50.30
clearly identifies
earth's final generation,
00:02:50.33\00:02:53.57
and we have discovered that
we are that final generation.
00:02:53.60\00:02:57.47
Secondly, the story of
Noah enables us to know
00:02:57.51\00:03:00.48
and understand
how we can be ready
00:03:00.51\00:03:02.61
when the Son of Man returns.
00:03:02.64\00:03:04.85
And third and
most important of all,
00:03:04.88\00:03:07.25
I would suggest is this,
00:03:07.28\00:03:09.08
that the story of
Noah provides instruction
00:03:09.12\00:03:12.05
on how we can prepare
others for Jesus' soon return.
00:03:12.09\00:03:16.22
Noah was a man of righteousness.
00:03:16.26\00:03:18.83
Noah was a man who
not only prepared himself
00:03:18.86\00:03:21.96
and his family,
00:03:22.00\00:03:23.60
but he was also a
man who was focused
00:03:23.63\00:03:26.94
on preparing the
world at his time
00:03:26.97\00:03:30.57
for safety in the ark
00:03:30.61\00:03:33.51
when the flood would come.
00:03:33.54\00:03:34.91
So Noah was a man
00:03:34.94\00:03:36.28
who aimed to save
the people of his day.
00:03:36.31\00:03:40.42
And so God too wants to
use us in that very same way.

Now, before we plunge into
this all important message,

we need to do
something extremely important

before we open up
God's Word and what's that?

We need to pray.

So let's pause and

heaven, we ask and pray

that You will bless our
time together in Your Word

as we open Your Holy Word Father

more from the story of Noah,

on marriage and the family.

And the Bible also says

that God poured out His blessing

on the seventh day Sabbath.

Now we took a look at
the first two blessings,

the animals,
marriage, and the family.
00:05:08.64\00:05:11.97
We discovered that God
created a beautiful environment
00:05:12.01\00:05:17.18
where the
animals could flourish.
00:05:17.21\00:05:19.48
And He created a
beautiful environment
00:05:19.51\00:05:21.52
where humanity could flourish.
00:05:21.55\00:05:24.72
And we discovered that
00:05:24.75\00:05:26.39
as we drew near to
the time of the flood,
00:05:26.42\00:05:29.46
the enemy came
in and he destroyed
00:05:29.49\00:05:32.76
or was destroying in a process
of destroying God's creation.

And people were
destroying themselves.
00:05:37.00\00:05:38.83
There was no
value in human life.
00:05:38.87\00:05:41.70
There was no
value in animal life.

And then we also
discovered in our last message,

that from the time of
the flood, after the flood,

all the way to
our day in particular,

sadly, the enemy
has been at work.
00:05:54.45\00:05:57.45
And today we find ourselves
living in a world that is,

that is being ravaged by abuse
00:06:01.69\00:06:04.66
when it comes
to the environment.
00:06:04.69\00:06:06.63
Now, you know,
instead of taking care
00:06:06.66\00:06:08.50
of the environment,
00:06:08.53\00:06:09.86
we find ourselves in a
world where we are exploiting
00:06:09.90\00:06:12.87
the environment more and more,
00:06:12.90\00:06:14.27
and the animals
and there's extinction
00:06:14.30\00:06:16.71
on a scale that we
have not seen before.
00:06:16.74\00:06:18.54
A marriage and the
family, let's not even go there.

Marriage and the family is
being destroyed by the enemy
00:06:22.11\00:06:26.72
because he knows that
is the very foundation
00:06:26.75\00:06:29.25
for a healthy and
a prosperous society.
00:06:29.28\00:06:33.42
Now, when it comes to
the seventh day Sabbath,
00:06:33.46\00:06:36.02
this is the third
and final blessing.
00:06:36.06\00:06:38.09
And let me
suggest, this is the climax
00:06:38.13\00:06:42.00
of all three of the blessings
00:06:42.03\00:06:44.40
that bring the other two
together in a beautiful way.
00:06:44.43\00:06:48.57
Now, when it comes to
the seventh day Sabbath,
00:06:48.60\00:06:52.61
I discovered as I
read the creation account,
00:06:52.64\00:06:55.11
that this indeed is
the climax of God's work
00:06:55.14\00:06:59.81
of the seventh day week.
00:06:59.85\00:07:01.75
And it has special
significance for us today.
00:07:01.78\00:07:04.95
And in fact, in Genesis,
notice what we have here
00:07:04.99\00:07:09.19
when it comes to how God
forms and then how God feels.

I'm gonna give

fills that light with the sun,

the moon and the stars.

On day two, God
forms the firmament.

That is the sky and the seas.
00:07:37.95\00:07:40.86
And on day five, God
fills the sky with the birds

and God fills the
sea with the fish.

On day six, God creates
dry land and vegetation.

And on day three,

He created dry land and
vegetation and on day six

He filled that with land
animals and human beings.

But we know that in a
week we have how many days?

We have seven days.

So what did God
create on the seventh day?

He actually
didn't create anything.

The Bible says He rested.

He blessed the day, He
rested and He sanctified it.

So what did God fill

that seventh day that He formed?

He filled it with His blessing.
00:08:26.47\00:08:29.04
He filled it with His presence.
00:08:29.07\00:08:31.11
He filled it with His joy.

He filled it with His delight.
00:08:33.04\00:08:34.84
And so the seventh day,

according to the
Genesis creation account

is the very climax.
00:08:40.22\00:08:41.55
It's the bullseye if you like.
00:08:41.58\00:08:43.49
The bullseye of creation.
00:08:43.52\00:08:45.12
And we looked at that
in a previous presentation

where we
discovered there is a bullseye
00:08:47.59\00:08:49.79
in the story of Noah
that God remembered Noah
00:08:49.82\00:08:53.33
and that's in Genesis 8:1.
00:08:53.36\00:08:55.06
And so the
Sabbath is God's bullseye.
00:08:55.10\00:08:59.47
So as I have been reading
through the story of Noah,

I was asking
myself this question,

Lord, at the beginning of time,
00:09:06.98\00:09:10.41
You created blessings
00:09:10.45\00:09:13.68
for the animals
and all of nature.
00:09:13.72\00:09:15.58
You created a blessing
for marriage and the family.
00:09:15.62\00:09:19.32
You also created a blessing
for those that would enter
00:09:19.35\00:09:22.89
into your rest each
and every Sabbath day.
00:09:22.92\00:09:26.03
And we discovered
that after the flood,
00:09:26.06\00:09:28.73
God blessed all of the animals
and He blessed all of nature.
00:09:28.76\00:09:34.67
After the flood, God
blessed marriage and the family
00:09:34.70\00:09:37.97
and in both
situations with the animals
00:09:38.01\00:09:40.01
and with marriage
and the family God said,
00:09:40.04\00:09:41.38
be fruitful and
multiply using the same language
00:09:41.41\00:09:44.91
that we find in the
Genesis creation account,

be fruitful and multiply.

And so I was asking myself,

Lord, what about
the seventh day Sabbath?

Where is the
seventh day Sabbath?

Did you after the flood

reestablish and reinstate
the seventh day Sabbath
00:09:58.43\00:10:03.03
that You gave at creation

that would continue all the
way through to the end of time?

Is it there in the story?

And I couldn't
find it to begin with.

And so I'm
looking and I'm praying,

and I'm looking and I'm praying,

and I'm reading and I'm reading,

and all of a sudden God
in His mercy and in His grace

showed me the
seventh day Sabbath

post flood, after the flood.

Wow!

And I was just so blessed.

And so what I'm gonna
share with you in this message.

but it is simply
through the inspiration

Sabbath blessing embedded?

word covenant, covenant.

We discover in
the Book of Genesis

covenant is first used.

Once God uses the
word before the flood,

and seven times after the flood.

Seven being God's number,

seven being the
number of perfection,

seven being the
day of the Sabbath.

And that's very
significant in and of itself.

But before we take a look
at where this word appears,

and we're gonna take a
look at all eight references

to the covenant
in the story of Noah.

Before we do that,
let's just take a look at

what the word covenant means.

Now the word
covenant, it means alliance,
00:12:06.45\00:12:10.66
solemn pledge or
a binding agreement.

That's what the word covenant
means according to Scripture.

Now, covenants in
Scripture were made
00:12:17.43\00:12:21.30
between God and human beings,
00:12:21.34\00:12:22.87
as well as between human beings.
00:12:22.90\00:12:27.04
So when it comes to the covenant

that is made
between individuals,
00:12:29.51\00:12:32.75
okay, covenant between men.
00:12:32.78\00:12:35.02
And I mean that
in a generic sense.

According to Scripture,
it's a friendship alliance,

an agreement, a pledge, a
treaty, a marriage alliance,
00:12:41.82\00:12:45.79
and we call it, you
know, the marital covenant,
00:12:45.83\00:12:48.80
monarch with subjects
00:12:48.83\00:12:50.43
through a
constitution or ordinance.
00:12:50.47\00:12:53.74
So that's the
covenant between individuals.

Now what about the
covenant between God and man?

Well, the covenant
between God and man

signifies a divine alliance
of friendship with ordinances,

signs or pledges.

Notice those
words, signs or pledges.

So that's what we
have in Scripture.

And that's what we have
in ancient time's covenants.

They have come down to us
from the beginning of time.

Now in the Andrews

summary of the covenant

that God makes with individuals.

And I think this
is a beautiful summary

very heart of the covenant

that God initiates and
makes with human beings.

Notice these words

That is He's
taking the initiative.

There are
conditions and requirements,

but it is God's grace.

Notice, it is God's grace

that is
foundational to the covenant,

with humanity
responding by what?

Faith and obedience.

So that is the
covenant in a nutshell.

God pours out His grace

individual or upon the world.

That's the Sabbath,
that's all of God's blessings.

They come in a covenant form

and then He invites us
to respond to His covenant

through faith and
through obedience.

So let's take a look
at this word, covenant.

We're gonna go to the
first time that is used.

And immediately
prior to the flood,

this is what God says to Noah.

we have that term covenant
mentioned in all of Scripture.

Verse 17, God speaking to
Noah, He says, "And behold,

I Myself am bringing
floodwaters on the earth,

to destroy from
under heaven all flesh

in which is the breath of life,

everything that is
on the earth shall die."

But God goes on,

"I will establish
My covenant with you,

about Noah and his family,

God wanted to
save the entire world.

people of Nineveh do
