begin talking about a subject

that I think is
very, very important.

You know,
oftentimes we don't talk enough
00:08:34.74\00:08:37.35
about the forces of evil
00:08:37.38\00:08:39.58
in which to expose
them for what they are.
00:08:39.61\00:08:43.52
You know, we're often afraid
00:08:43.55\00:08:45.59
that if we talk about the devil,
00:08:45.62\00:08:47.89
then we're going to
give glory to the devil.
00:08:47.92\00:08:50.56
But, you know,
the old saying says,
00:08:50.59\00:08:52.93
"Speak of the devil
and he shall appear."
00:08:52.96\00:08:55.63
So if you say
something about him,
00:08:55.66\00:08:57.40
sometimes we just think
that the devil will show up
00:08:57.43\00:09:00.07
simply because we
have talked about him.
00:09:00.10\00:09:01.97
But you know it's kind of
like having insurance policy.

Some people are afraid
to get an insurance policy
00:09:04.14\00:09:07.31
because they think if
they get the insurance policy,

they're going to die.

Right?

So it's the same
thing with the devil.

We talk about
the devil does not,

does not necessarily
mean that he will have

this
extraordinary power to show up.

The Bible does say this,

"That the devil
is already with us.

He shows up whether we
are ready for him or not."

That's why the Bible
says, "Be sober and be vigilant,

because your adversary
the devil walketh about

as a roaring lion
seeking whom he may devour."

Secondly, we often are
afraid to talk about the subject

because we're
afraid of sensationalism.

We've all seen
television programs
00:09:43.11\00:09:45.58
when the televangelist comes out
00:09:45.61\00:09:47.15
and he takes his
hand and rears back
00:09:47.18\00:09:49.55
and he flaps the
person upside the head,
00:09:49.58\00:09:51.65
and the person falls back
00:09:51.69\00:09:53.19
into the arms of
the waiting deacon.
00:09:53.22\00:09:55.06
And he says, "Oh, Spirit
00:09:55.09\00:09:56.42
of deaf dumb
and blind come out."
00:09:56.46\00:09:57.96
We're afraid
sometimes of sensationalism.
00:09:57.99\00:10:00.73
And so we steer away
from the topic as well.

Sometimes also
we may be a fear--

We may have a fear

of being linked
to false movements.

There are often movements
that appear to be liberating,

but actually are enslaving.

And we don't want to
be involved in those.

And we also sometimes are afraid

that the occult will lead
us into a cult fascination.

That simply by
talking about the subject,

we will begin to go
deep into their dark pathway.

But I'm here tonight to tell you

that there is no
greater responsibility

that we have as Christians

than to pull back the
curtains on the devil.

And to let the world see
him for what he really is.

Unless you've been down the road

that I've been down

and seen the
things that I've seen,

then you may not
be able to understand

these next three or four days,

to unpack this thing

to expose the devil

power, but you are the head

that the storm
would bypass my area.

But then it became obvious

after a while that it would not.

It began to intensify

and I'm a kind of
closet prepper kind of person,

so you know, I'm always

storing up food
and water in the house,

and my wife is
always making fun of me

because I have extra batteries

and those kind of
things just in case

but, I got all my
batteries together.

I went to the
store and got some logs

for the
fireplace and extra matches

because I was certain
that it would not bypass us

and indeed it didn't.

Hurricane Sandy
became a massive super storm,

one of the largest
storms ever recorded

in human history.

And it made its way straight to
where I was living in New York.

I won't forget that night

as the winds begin to howl
and the trees begin to sway.

And that night, my
wife, and children, and I
00:13:40.55\00:13:43.39
gathered in the
basement of our house.

And all we can
hear all night long
00:13:46.32\00:13:47.99
was the howling of winds

and the snapping of
50 and 60 foot trees

crashing around us.

come another super storm

Its scope is large.

this super storm from Al Roker.

But I will tell you tonight,
I have peeped the forecast.

And I have seen its path.

And I'm not relying
upon radar or satellite

to tell me where the
storm is going to be.

I have a better
forecasting system.

If I open the Word of God,

for the Bible
says in 2 Peter 1:19,

"That we have a more
sure word of prophecy

You see, if you want to
know what the future is.

corners of the earth,

holding the winds of the earth,

not blow on the earth,
