means types or symbols.

You see, within the scripture

true historical accounts.

But these things have
not simply been chronicled

for the purpose of giving
us some good moral instruction

But the Bible

have been left on record by

prophetic application

them in this prophetic sense,

the cross, you'll notice,

His focus on the cross.

He tells them,

They're going to take me,

He begins to make the cross
the focus of his message, why?

present truth for their hour.

upon the cross,

The reason I find
this so interesting

is because that very same Jesus

they were getting
ready to put on the cross,

Jesus said of himself
in the Book of John 14:6,

"I am the way, the
truth, and the life.

the Father but by me."

Moments from that
time they were with Jesus

to see the truth,

And so the crisis
that the disciples

getting ready to experience?
