today is straight way,

Let's turn to Mark 6

Jesus short life upon
this earth and his even

sleep and they had so much

depended upon them
that they even sometimes had

no time even to eat.
So Jesus was a busy man,

Jesus did not have time
for little things he was

always, always,
always busy. How many of you

have a life like
that. Constant demand,

so if you're a
mother, you have children,

you have the
husband, you have the house,

you may have jobs
in addition to that,

you are up
earlier, you stay up late,

you barely have time to sleep,

you have no time for
yourself and then you

think I even, don't
even have time for prayer or

Bible study, how many
of you actually feel that

at times? Let's look at
Jesus life for a moment.

attention to the first

want you to notice every

word like straight away,

going to get the picture

of Jesus as a very busy man.

Let's go to Mark
the first chapter,

I must confess to you

that I have a problem
with that I cannot say that

I use every moment
of every day to the best

advantage and it is
something that I struggle

with something that I
pray about and God has

blessed me and I've
been improving over the

years. But I'm not
where I want to be how about
00:06:36.35\00:06:39.03
yourself, do
you ever waste time?
00:06:39.04\00:06:41.14
Well I can't here
you so you can answer for
00:06:41.15\00:06:43.99
yourself. But Jesus
schedule was so busy that
00:06:44.00\00:06:48.06
honestly as you read
the entire book of Mark,

the entire book of
Mark reads that way.

Every time Jesus did
something it was right at

the way with no time
for rest in between and He

was often up early
and he stayed up late and

everyone was demanding
his attention and He was

always busy, busy, busy, busy,

in fact He was so
busy, He didn't have time

to pray. He was so
busy that you would think

Jesus didn't
have time for worship.

He didn't have time for God.

And in reality that was
the case through out the

day he had very little
if anytime of quietness

for personal
reflection, meditation, study,

prayer because
everyone was seeking his

attention, seeking
his healing, seeking his

teachings. All
throughout the day in his day

began early and
it ended very late.

And so what you do
when you have to save

the world? What do you
do when you have to save

lost souls and
everyone is demanding your

attention and you
have no time to eat, sleep,

rest anything, how do
you get your time with God

when there is no time.
Well I'll tell you what

Jesus did? Jesus
made time for God.

Jesus took away time
out of sleep in order

to make time for God.
You know I myself some

number of years ago I
was pasturing and my mind

was always labored
with different demands were

replaced upon me and
in the churches and in the

my labors for lost
souls and so I was always

concerned and often
times I would wake up quite

early in the morning. Sometimes,

1 O'clock in the
morning, on one occasion I

remember waking up
at 11 O'clock at night,

that was very difficult.
But typically I'd wake

up maybe 3 O'clock, 4
O'clock in the morning

and it used to kind of bother me

I used to worry about it.

I'd say, oh my
goodness, I can't sleep,

this is terrible,
I'll never make it through

the day and I used to
really be kind of upset

and just kind of you
know feel sorry for myself
00:08:56.44\00:08:59.55
that I couldn't sleep
and then I remember one
00:08:59.56\00:09:03.80
time I thought
to myself alright.
00:09:03.81\00:09:05.85
Instead of being upset
because I can't sleep I'm
00:09:06.70\00:09:09.41
gonna start doing
something productive
00:09:09.42\00:09:11.13
with that time I'm
going to spend that time

in prayer. And you
know what was interesting,

I didn't really get
anymore sleep but I felt

better. Once I started
to devote that time that

I was awake much
earlier than one I wanted to be,

when I devoted that to prayer,

communication with
God then it was like I had

energy to the next
day. It was like I could get

by on very little
sleep no matter what happened

I could make it and I
could survive and you know

what I was so much
more satisfied and I think
00:09:43.30\00:09:46.01
my life was productive for good.

Turn if you will to
Luke 6 verse 12 and 13,

let's read together.
Luke 6, and it came to

pass in those days,
that he went out into a

mountain to
pray, and continued all

night in prayer to
God. And when it was day,

he called unto
him his disciples:

and of them He chose twelve,

whom he also named apostles.

Jesus was profoundly
busy and yet in order to get

the required time He
needed with God so that He

could have the
direction He needed to save the

world, there were times
when He spent the entire
00:10:29.48\00:10:32.48
night in prayer. And He did this

often times by going
out to a quiet place,

do you have a quiet
place where you can spend
00:10:39.68\00:10:41.48
time with God. A
place where no one
00:10:41.49\00:10:43.88
can bother you,
no one can interrupt

you where it's just
precious, you and your
00:10:45.87\00:10:49.53
Savior alone. Jesus did that,

it was the only way
that He could do that,

he would often
send his disciples away,

so you go rest a while
and they say master you

need to rest, you
need to take some time for

yourself, He'd say
don't you worry about me.

You go and you rest
and then He would go rest

in God. He wasn't sleeping,

but he would spend
the entire night in prayer

and then he would start
the next day in the same

way all day busy.
You know when we devote

time to God and
prayer in this way,

God does something for
us, he provides a miracle

on our behalf and gives
us energy that we didn't

have, gives us
capabilities that we

didn't have because
if you devote yourself to
00:11:33.27\00:11:36.15
God, God devotes
special attention to you because
00:11:36.16\00:11:40.04
He sees that you seek after him,
00:11:40.05\00:11:42.00
you hunger and
thirst after righteousness,
00:11:42.01\00:11:44.65
it's important to you,
will you want to be more
00:11:44.66\00:11:46.77
Christ like, you
want to be more like God,
00:11:46.78\00:11:49.22
you want to have
the mind of Christ,
00:11:49.23\00:11:51.01
you want to save lost sinners,
00:11:51.02\00:11:52.97
lost souls for
eternity, God will not allow you

to suffer for having
spent time with Him in
00:11:57.62\00:12:00.46
prayer friends. I
can tell you that from my
00:12:00.47\00:12:03.05
own personal
experience. But often times as

professional time
wasters we keep ourselves busy
00:12:07.42\00:12:11.32
not necessarily
doing the good things that
00:12:11.33\00:12:13.34
Jesus did, but we
spend them doing things that
00:12:13.35\00:12:16.69
are less good,
maybe not the best things.
00:12:16.70\00:12:20.44
Have you ever spent
time doing the things that
00:12:21.37\00:12:24.69
were not the
best? Or you may even be
00:12:24.70\00:12:28.29
doing good things
but not the best things.

What are the best
things that we could do?

Let's turn to Luke 10
verse 38 to 42 and let's

came to pass as they went,

named Martha received him

had a sister called Mary,

which also sat at Jesus' feet,

and heard his word.
But Martha was cumbered

about much
serving, and came to him,

and said, Lord, dost
thou not care that my sister

hath left me to serve alone?

Bid her

things? Friends, we need

Jesus doing that which

the 12th chapter,

we find another illustration of

Mary sitting at the
feet of Jesus because she

loved her
master. You know when you

are a sinner and you
have, we're all sinners but

when you realize how
deeply you have offended

God and you realize
how merciful He has been

to save you, then you
want to spend time with

Him and you want to
be close to Him because

you adore Him for
having giving you such

a second chance on

spent time in prayer and I'm

not talking about
that little thing where you

live the house in rush
in the morning and you ask

the Lord to bless
you, and to protect you and

then you don't think
anymore about God all

day long. Friends you
and I need to have an all

day long running
conversation with God.

There's not a moment
nor a second that we are

saved without being an
attitude of prayer with

God. You and I need to
devote our entire lives

You remember Jesus told

the disciples just
pray, lest He enter into

temptation. What
they do? They fell asleep.

And they felt a
temptation and they denied

their savior. When
he needed them the most

are we guilty of that at times?

Have you ever denied your Lord?

I have, I have. It
gives me great shame and

reproach to
realize that but I'm,

Praise the Lord, God forgives.

When we repent confess our sins,
