Through our life we are
given all kinds of tests

sometimes they are tests

that you have on
a piece of paper,

as you did when you
were in grade school,

or high school, or college.

And I'm not going
to give a test today,

but I wanted us to
take a look at some issues

regarding the taking
of tests because sometimes

when you take a test,

you're so into
remembering everything
00:01:35.54\00:01:38.71
you need to make a perfect grade
00:01:38.72\00:01:42.16
on the test.
00:01:42.17\00:01:43.87
And so you're
trying to remember,

what you studied,
00:01:45.72\00:01:46.96
and what the teacher said?

What was in your
notes and all the rest?

But if that
process gets interrupted,

sometimes you can't
recall the things you need.

And they have it in school,

they've done some studies

what's called an
interrupt quotient.

Some people have a
high interrupt quotient,

means they could be interrupted

but they can comeback

to the same train of thoughts

and pick it right
up where they left off.

Other ones you interrupt them

and then they have take sometime

to get back together,

or get their train of thought

and get back on track.

And, so we need to find out

what our interpretability is,

or sometimes if we are
interrupted too many time,

we have interpretability.

In other words we just blow,

we just can't handle it.

I want to talk a
little bit about that today,

and how Jesus dealt
with that in His time.

Thinking about time,

so many times we
see time just disappear,

and that
increases our stress level,

and increases
our interpretability.

Sometimes we think about time

and it seems like
it's just yesterday

that I was
holding my sons in my arms

after they were born.
00:03:02.50\00:03:03.47
It seem like it was
just yesterday when they,

they graduated from high school.
00:03:05.56\00:03:07.30
But time just seems to
disappear and of course in

Daniel chapter 12 and verse 4.

It shows in the end that
many will run to and fro.

And I think all of
us have found that out,

it seems like we're going here
00:03:20.42\00:03:22.69
and we're going there.

We almost catch ourselves
coming as we are living.

But time just seems to disappear

and I think we need
to slowdown our time

and schedule. So,
that we allow Jesus

to do what He
wants to in our life,

because in reality,
our hard occupations,

they are not as
important as our children.

We need to make
sure we spend time

with our family, especially our

young children when they're,

when they're the youngest.

We need time
just to notice people.

you've ever recall yourself

going across a parking lot,

but and I waved and

but you never responded.

What were you thinking?

thinking about my list,

what I needed to do that day.

Well, we need to
slowdown and notice people.

We needed to
slowdown for relationship.

because I believe
that we need to take time

for encouragement.
We need to encourage

God wants us to do that

you have no time to do

I remember one time
I was had my schedule

all made out for the afternoon,

I had all the people that

I wanted to see written down,

their
addresses, I thought it had
00:05:30.09\00:05:33.08
everything written down.
00:05:33.09\00:05:34.06
And so I took off
and got to the town,

and I look down and I
had the person's name.
00:05:37.48\00:05:39.99
Now God have
blessed me a lot of times
00:05:40.00\00:05:42.66
with being able to
go to a person's house
00:05:42.67\00:05:45.23
and I could get
right back there again
00:05:45.24\00:05:47.58
and not have a problem.
00:05:47.59\00:05:48.77
And I had been to
this person's house before
00:05:48.78\00:05:51.72
and they're wanting
some more literature,

and I was suppose to
pick up some Bible studies

and drop off some Bible studies.
00:05:56.20\00:05:57.64
And it was very small town,

less than a
thousand people town,

and I tried to find the house

and I could not find the house.

I went down what I
thought was the right street,

but I had
unfortunately not written down

the address for that person.

And so I circled
and did another circle,

and went down another street,

that house looked
like it was familiar

but I wasn't sure,
and I didn't want to knock

at the wrong house.

But finally I
got to a parking lot

and I went through
everything in my car

trying to find that address

but I couldn't find it.

To tell you the truth
I was getting a little,

little irritated
because I thought here

I'm doing God's work,

I want to do His will and I know

I needed to get this
literature to this person.

I prayed about it, yeah,
00:06:47.31\00:06:49.62
but he didn't answer
that prayer that time,
00:06:49.63\00:06:52.38
and I just
couldn't figure out why?
00:06:52.39\00:06:54.00
I was on a time schedule,
00:06:54.01\00:06:55.73
I wanted to get things done,
00:06:55.74\00:06:56.79
I wanted to get my,
00:06:56.80\00:06:58.88
all my visits made that day.
00:06:58.89\00:07:01.05
And so yes, I sat
there and grumbled to God

for a little while,
and I finally just threw up

my hands I said okay Lord,
00:07:08.81\00:07:09.97
what do You want me to do?

Who do You want me
to see in this town

or wherever, whatever town.

And as soon as I
asked that question,

He gave me the answer,

a name popped into my head,

and there was on
the piece of paper,

I had been to
this person's house,

numerous times,
never found them home,

I tried in the morning,

I tried in the afternoon,
00:07:33.38\00:07:34.37
I tried early evening,
00:07:34.38\00:07:36.01
I tried late evening,
00:07:36.02\00:07:38.00
but never made a contact.
00:07:38.01\00:07:41.67
And I had I guess
somewhat given up because

I just couldn't figure
out when to reach them.

I left messages on the phone,

I had tried various things

but here was a time, okay.

Lord I will go to their house
00:07:54.01\00:07:55.52
and try to find them.
00:07:55.53\00:07:57.01
So I went to their
house and of course
00:07:57.02\00:08:00.80
there was a person
there that was their grandma,
00:08:00.81\00:08:03.34
and there was a daughter,
00:08:03.35\00:08:05.79
and the granddaughter,
00:08:05.80\00:08:07.28
all of those I tried to see,
00:08:07.29\00:08:08.63
and I hadn't found
any of them before.

When I got to
their house this time

all of them were there,
00:08:14.24\00:08:16.08
every single one
of them were there,

and so when went
in and had good visit

and encouraged them,

and spend some time
with God's word with them,

and was able to encourage them

to come to church service.

And they were there this next,

at next Sabbath,

and I've to praise the Lord.

The Lord interrupted my study,

my timetable, my schedule,

my to do list,

and brought me to their house,

at the right
time in the right way.

The question I
have for all of us

is what about our
ability to let God interrupt us?

What would have happened

if the funeral at Maine
00:08:57.01\00:08:59.74
would not have been interrupted?

What if they had said sorry,
00:09:01.27\00:09:03.39
Jesus just stand back,
00:09:03.40\00:09:05.14
we're going on to the cemetery.
00:09:05.15\00:09:07.00
We don't have
time to listen to you.

We don't have time
for you to stay here,

we are just going on.
I'm glad they stopped,

I am glad they let
Jesus interrupt them.

And of course
there are many people

throughout the
Bible that God has used

and interrupted.
And we will take a look

at few of those more,

but I believe we need
to let God interrupt us.

We need to let Him
interrupt our plans,

our schedules, or to do list,

and accomplish what He
wants to do in our lives?

at that one experience

Now take a look at

what Jesus' experienced.

verse 1 and 2 and it says.

And again he entered Capernaum,

special town that he enjoyed,

after some days,
and it was heard that

He was in the house.
00:10:10.76\00:10:12.09
Immediately many
gathered together,

so that there
will be no longer room
00:10:15.54\00:10:17.45
to receive them,
not even near the door.

And He preached
the word to them.

Capernaum,
Capernaum was Christ's

headquarters for Galilee.

It was His favorite,

one of His favorite towns.

I had the opportunity
of going there during

a trip to Israel one time,

of what remained of
Capernaum and there was,

it was a interesting place,
00:10:40.01\00:10:41.24
there was a neat
place to know that
00:10:41.25\00:10:43.39
Christ could
have been in that area
00:10:43.40\00:10:45.11
when He was here on this earth.
00:10:45.12\00:10:47.37
It says that he was in
the home of Peter in the home,
00:10:47.38\00:10:52.79
it was Peter's
home that was his town,
00:10:52.80\00:10:55.93
that was where
he lived, Capernaum.
00:10:55.94\00:10:58.69
And he was so busy
that everybody wanted to see
00:10:58.70\00:11:01.97
him that there
was not enough room.

You couldn't even
get through the door,

it was so bad they,

they just couldn't
get through the door.

And so there is one group though

that wanted to get
in. There was one group

that needed to get in.

and I want to take a
look of that in verse 3.

Mark chapter 2 and verse 3 says,

Then they came to Him,

they came, bringing a paralytic

who was carried by four men.

A paralytic, one
who is sick of the palsy

in New King James
Version says he was a paralytic,

he was one that,
00:11:41.25\00:11:42.53
that so could not get around,
00:11:42.54\00:11:45.33
he could not get
around on his own,
00:11:45.34\00:11:47.36
he had have help,
00:11:47.37\00:11:49.01
but he wanted something,
00:11:49.02\00:11:51.14
he wanted it desperately.

His friends knew he wanted is,

his friends knew
that he needed to take

the time to go to see Jesus.

But he couldn't
get there by himself,

he needed some helpers

and he had four of them.

He had four people that were,

enough to take them.

but it's not an easy process.

It's not a process that,

just pick up a feather

and carry it, it's a hard
process to carry somebody,

but these men did it,
they loved him that much.

question for all of us is,

do we love someone
enough to help them out

with their desire? Of
course his desire was,

was to be healed,
his desire was even

for an inner healing
and we'll talk more about

that in just a moment.

But verse 4, Mark chapter 3, 2,

in verse 4 he says.

And when they
could not come near Him,

talking about Jesus
because of the crowd,

they uncovered
the roof where He was.

So when they had broken through,

they led down the bed on which

the paralytic was lying.

Here they got so desperate,

they were on a mission,

nothing was
gonna hold them back,

they were on a
mission to get their friend

to see Jesus. Crowd or no crowd,

they were getting him in.

So you couldn't get
through the front door,

you went up the
side steps to roof

and you pulled apart the roof.

Now, I am not sure
how the process was,

inside must have been
and starting to be a mess

because with the
thatch, thatch roof,

when you start to

the dust and all the debris.

And so here those
individual decided,

they wanted to get to Jesus.

They weren't concerned about

what dust was gonna
fall on who, inside.

They wanted to get this
their friend to see Jesus.

they had persistence,
they wanted to make sure

Do we have persistence?

Do we have that much persistence

when we have a
friend that needs help?

someone to Jesus?

Of course the Bible
is full of illustrations

of people who had persistence.

Of course there was the widow

and the judge
that Jesus talks about.

She was so into
making sure that the judge

heard her case,
she persistent until

he got tired on it.

And of course in
the Old Testament,

you have Elijah getting old,

going to see the King
and telling him to shoot

the arrows into the ground.
00:14:49.71\00:14:51.09
And the king wasn't too
persistent at that time,

he was so unpersistent
that Elijah told him
00:14:55.08\00:14:59.57
that his war
against the enemies of God

was not going to be accomplished
00:15:03.41\00:15:05.34
because he didn't
have enough persistence.

Do you and I have
enough persistence?

Would we go to whatever lanes

to accomplish what
God wanted us to do?

I hope none of us
ever get to the point

where we are so worried about,

well I'm getting

what somebody will

what is happening so,

believe these four men,

these four of friends
of this man wanted to make

sure that they got
what he wanted done.

not everybody was
feeling that great

and to hear him shout out that

in a waiting room
just wasn't really great,

and so they would
complain to the doctor.

Now this guy is
really getting on our nerves

do something about it.

And so he got
together with his nursing staff

The next time this guy comes in,
