Hi, I'm Pastor Floyd Bresee and I've been 00:00:30.18\00:00:34.55 thinking, it seems to me there'd be a lot 00:00:34.56\00:00:37.49 more Christians, if Christians were a lot 00:00:37.50\00:00:40.56 more Christ like let's pray about it. 00:00:40.57\00:00:43.69 Lord, please speak to us today, what you 00:00:45.65\00:00:51.51 need most for us to learn that will help us 00:00:52.63\00:00:56.28 become more Christ like Christians we pray 00:00:56.71\00:01:00.35 in Jesus name. Amen. Today I want to talk 00:01:01.22\00:01:07.40 about conquerors. We all want to be 00:01:07.41\00:01:10.42 conquerors, conquering, conquerors through 00:01:10.43\00:01:13.85 Christ, let's leave our Bibles open to Romans 00:01:13.86\00:01:17.12 the 8th chapter we're going to look at the 00:01:17.13\00:01:18.93 last third of that chapter and I will be 00:01:18.94\00:01:21.28 using the new international version. 00:01:21.29\00:01:23.30 When celebrity Anna Nicole Smith died, 00:01:24.73\00:01:27.78 it fostered a huge custody battle over 00:01:28.61\00:01:33.16 her 5 month old baby Dannielynn to whom 00:01:33.17\00:01:37.13 would she belong, where would she live, 00:01:37.14\00:01:40.57 but have you stopped to thinking that you 00:01:42.16\00:01:43.70 are in the center of an even bigger custody 00:01:44.10\00:01:47.66 battle. The great controversy we call it 00:01:47.67\00:01:50.69 between Christ and Satan. Custody over, 00:01:50.70\00:01:54.26 to whom will you belong, and where will 00:01:54.39\00:01:57.33 you live for eternity. In this great controversy, 00:01:57.34\00:02:02.67 one of Satan's most deceitful and diabolically 00:02:03.16\00:02:07.42 successful tools. Is what I would like to call 00:02:07.43\00:02:11.14 the God blamer. There is nothing Satan loves 00:02:11.57\00:02:15.70 more than to hurt us and get us to blame God 00:02:15.71\00:02:19.60 for it. He loves to bring us pain and get us to 00:02:19.61\00:02:23.28 blame God for it, and he loves to bring 00:02:23.29\00:02:26.61 problems into our lives and get us to blame 00:02:26.62\00:02:29.03 God for it, and when the world is suffering 00:02:29.04\00:02:32.62 he wants us to blame God for it, and the 00:02:32.79\00:02:35.45 existence of evil he hopes we'll blame God for 00:02:35.46\00:02:39.00 it. All the miseries of life the devil would love 00:02:39.01\00:02:42.11 nothing more then for us to blame God. 00:02:42.12\00:02:45.32 One of life's most important lessons we 00:02:46.67\00:02:49.69 simply must not confuse God with life. 00:02:49.70\00:02:54.29 Our emphasis today life isn't fair, but God is. 00:02:55.21\00:03:02.23 Be very careful about acquitting those two, 00:03:03.01\00:03:05.83 life isn't fair, but God is. It's certainly true 00:03:06.15\00:03:12.80 that life isn't fair. Life continually tries to 00:03:12.81\00:03:16.46 beat us down. It's just not fair that some 00:03:16.47\00:03:20.23 grew up with abusive parents and therefore 00:03:20.24\00:03:23.13 spent a whole lifetime planning it difficult to 00:03:23.35\00:03:25.66 learn love. It's not fair that some have to grow 00:03:25.67\00:03:30.14 up in a single parent home and not understand 00:03:30.15\00:03:32.63 what a, God's home was meant to be. 00:03:32.98\00:03:36.36 It's not fair that some inherit the genes for 00:03:37.20\00:03:39.84 cancer or for Arthritis. It's not fair that 00:03:39.85\00:03:43.94 someone loses a spouse and perhaps have to 00:03:43.95\00:03:46.53 live alone all the rest of their lives. 00:03:46.54\00:03:49.12 Romans the 8th chapter in the 35 verse. 00:03:50.40\00:03:53.93 Notice that Paul is really speaking 00:03:54.50\00:03:57.49 biographically when he says in verse 35, 00:03:57.50\00:04:02.28 who shall separate us from the love of Christ? 00:04:02.31\00:04:05.56 Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or 00:04:06.05\00:04:10.71 famine or nakedness or danger or sword, 00:04:10.72\00:04:13.64 he knew exactly what he was talking about 00:04:13.82\00:04:15.88 when Paul talked about these very things, 00:04:15.89\00:04:19.45 because these were things he endured trouble 00:04:19.64\00:04:22.44 and hardship and persecution because he 00:04:22.45\00:04:24.84 was a mean man, because he was a bad 00:04:24.85\00:04:26.69 men? No, just because he was trying to help 00:04:26.70\00:04:29.06 people. Life simply is not fair. Satan sees us as 00:04:29.07\00:04:38.93 sheep to be slaughtered, notice this in 00:04:38.94\00:04:43.92 verse 36, Romans 8 and verse 36, 00:04:44.34\00:04:48.83 as it is written; "For your sake we face 00:04:49.35\00:04:52.91 death all day long; we are considered as sheep 00:04:53.07\00:04:57.96 to be slaughtered." Slaughtered, as sheep to 00:04:58.30\00:05:02.22 be slaughtered. The picture I get is of the 00:05:02.23\00:05:07.03 slaughtering house and here is the flock of 00:05:07.04\00:05:09.56 sheep in the holding pen and just out there 00:05:09.57\00:05:12.21 is death's door and the sheep are milling 00:05:12.22\00:05:14.67 around and around and around and around 00:05:14.68\00:05:16.94 until death comes and that's what life can 00:05:16.95\00:05:19.53 be like, that's the way Satan sees life. 00:05:19.54\00:05:24.13 Satan sees us as "Dead Meat" he sees us as 00:05:25.97\00:05:29.86 sheep. Sheep are presumed to be pretty 00:05:29.91\00:05:34.72 stupid and easy to fool. He sees us as 00:05:34.73\00:05:39.53 conformance, like sheep he thinks that if he 00:05:39.86\00:05:43.56 can get the world to do anything he can get 00:05:43.57\00:05:45.69 even Christians gradually to be doing it too. 00:05:45.70\00:05:49.32 You heard of the teacher who was drilling 00:05:50.34\00:05:52.83 the farm boy Billy in arithmetic and teacher 00:05:52.84\00:05:58.36 said you have 10 sheep in the pen and one 00:05:58.37\00:06:00.94 gets out, how many sheep do you have left? 00:06:00.95\00:06:03.45 And Belly said zero. Teacher said, Billy you 00:06:04.65\00:06:09.87 don't know you're arithmetic. 00:06:09.88\00:06:11.63 Billy said teacher you don't know your sheep, 00:06:12.38\00:06:15.67 if one goes they're all gone. That's the way 00:06:16.44\00:06:20.82 the devil sees us, he sees us as sheep, 00:06:21.16\00:06:23.94 as conformance, purely followers of 00:06:23.95\00:06:27.77 whatever happens to be closest by. 00:06:27.78\00:06:30.92 Oh, what a contrast. Always the devil 00:06:32.07\00:06:35.60 sees us as sheep to be slaughtered, 00:06:35.61\00:06:37.57 God sees us so very differently. 00:06:37.58\00:06:40.81 He sees us as children to be loved. 00:06:40.82\00:06:43.85 Notice the family analogy in verse 29 of 00:06:44.48\00:06:49.35 Romans 8 and now notice verse 29, 00:06:49.56\00:06:53.59 For those God foreknew He also predestined 00:06:53.60\00:06:56.98 to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, 00:06:56.99\00:06:59.74 that he might be the firstborn among many 00:07:00.01\00:07:02.94 bothers. Did you, did you see the words 00:07:02.95\00:07:04.54 there? The Son, the first born, the brothers. 00:07:04.55\00:07:07.71 God is a heavenly parent, we are His 00:07:08.14\00:07:11.52 children. Boy gets a new bat and a ball, 00:07:11.71\00:07:17.41 now don't bat your ball in the backyard 00:07:18.95\00:07:22.23 and take it up to the playing field, 00:07:22.24\00:07:23.98 but do not bat your ball in the backyard and 00:07:23.99\00:07:28.15 the boy disobeys and the ball comes through 00:07:28.16\00:07:30.66 the windows. Now what's a good parent do? 00:07:30.67\00:07:32.85 Let me tell you some things that good parent 00:07:34.20\00:07:36.07 doesn't do. A good parent doesn't stop 00:07:36.08\00:07:39.21 loving the boy and when you have goofed 00:07:39.22\00:07:42.81 and when you have disobey God doesn't 00:07:42.82\00:07:46.29 stop loving you, because God is a good parent. 00:07:46.30\00:07:49.98 A second thing, good parent doesn't do is 00:07:50.68\00:07:53.20 remove the consequences. You see a 00:07:53.21\00:07:55.82 lot of our prayers I've seen God to remove 00:07:55.83\00:07:57.80 the consequences for the mistakes and 00:07:57.81\00:08:00.01 the disobedience. A good parent does not 00:08:00.02\00:08:03.03 remove the consequences. Now some 00:08:03.12\00:08:06.98 things that a good parent does do, 00:08:06.99\00:08:09.07 he uses the experience to teach the boy 00:08:09.78\00:08:13.31 a lesson and God doesn't stop loving us 00:08:13.32\00:08:17.05 when we have done things that are wrong. 00:08:17.06\00:08:18.91 He doesn't reject us, He doesn't take away 00:08:18.92\00:08:21.28 the consequences either, but He tires to 00:08:21.29\00:08:26.67 use the difficult things in life to teach us 00:08:26.68\00:08:29.14 lessons, another thing that a good parent 00:08:29.15\00:08:33.71 does. He hurts with the child who is hurting. 00:08:33.72\00:08:39.26 And so the boy he gets a job, raking leaves 00:08:40.62\00:08:45.75 for there neighbors and he rakes and he 00:08:45.76\00:08:47.85 rakes and he works, and he works, 00:08:47.86\00:08:49.25 and he comes home with blisters. 00:08:49.26\00:08:51.27 Mother say that'll, that'll teach you right. 00:08:52.01\00:08:54.48 We told you had to pay for the window 00:08:54.70\00:08:56.55 and now see what a mess you're in. 00:08:56.82\00:08:58.47 Oh no, what's a mother do and she get 00:08:58.77\00:09:01.86 some sap and she finds some way to dress 00:09:01.87\00:09:04.69 those wounds. You see when we're hurt, 00:09:04.70\00:09:09.22 God hurts with us. Queen Victoria visited a 00:09:09.77\00:09:15.78 grieving commoner. The poor lady had lost 00:09:16.62\00:09:21.44 her baby and Victoria having had some 00:09:21.50\00:09:25.23 serious losses in her background also felt 00:09:25.24\00:09:28.12 for this grieving woman and she actually went, 00:09:28.13\00:09:30.84 went with all of her entourage to see that 00:09:30.85\00:09:34.30 mother and, and after the commotion had 00:09:34.31\00:09:38.65 quieted down and Victoria had gone. 00:09:38.66\00:09:40.95 Then there was of course all gathered 00:09:41.78\00:09:43.07 around, now what she said, what she said. 00:09:43.08\00:09:45.44 And that grieving mother said, 00:09:46.17\00:09:47.92 she said nothing, she just laid her hands over 00:09:49.35\00:09:53.35 mine and we wept together. 00:09:53.36\00:09:56.60 Now when you're hurt, God hurts too, 00:09:58.82\00:10:04.47 God hurts with you. I would like to quote 00:10:05.15\00:10:11.04 for you just two sentences from Malcolm 00:10:11.05\00:10:16.61 Muggeridge. He wrote a wonderfully thought 00:10:16.72\00:10:21.27 provoking statement and see if it means 00:10:21.48\00:10:25.56 as much to you as it is meant to me 00:10:25.65\00:10:27.94 Muggeridge said, "Contrary to what might 00:10:28.13\00:10:30.45 be expected, I look back on experiences 00:10:30.46\00:10:34.19 that at the time seemed especially desolating 00:10:34.20\00:10:36.79 and painful, with particular satisfaction." 00:10:36.80\00:10:39.68 What? Things that are desolating and painful, 00:10:40.15\00:10:44.47 satisfaction, he continues; "Indeed, 00:10:44.68\00:10:47.33 I can say with complete truthfulness that 00:10:47.63\00:10:50.01 everything I have learned in my 00:10:50.02\00:10:51.80 seventy-five years in this world, 00:10:51.81\00:10:53.42 everything that was truly, has truly 00:10:53.43\00:10:55.60 enhanced and enlightened my 00:10:55.61\00:10:56.99 experience has been through affliction and 00:10:57.00\00:11:01.17 not through happiness." And we want so much 00:11:01.18\00:11:04.80 to be spared affection. Muggeridge says, 00:11:04.81\00:11:08.09 that is the way that we learn. A scientist 00:11:08.50\00:11:13.64 was studying moths and this little moth was 00:11:14.63\00:11:21.16 trying to make its way out of the cocoon and 00:11:21.31\00:11:25.91 the hole was much too small and it was 00:11:26.69\00:11:29.92 thrashing about and it was unable to come 00:11:30.50\00:11:32.77 out and the scientist felt sorry for that poor 00:11:32.78\00:11:35.44 little moth, so he took his scissor and he 00:11:35.45\00:11:37.42 clipped off the end of the cocoon and sure 00:11:37.43\00:11:41.79 enough the moth came easily out. 00:11:41.80\00:11:44.50 But he didn't learn until later that all of 00:11:45.87\00:11:48.72 that thrashing around was what drove the 00:11:48.73\00:11:51.40 fluid from the body of the moth to the wings 00:11:51.44\00:11:54.86 and because he was let out without that 00:11:55.12\00:11:58.19 struggle, his body was always large and he 00:11:58.20\00:12:01.01 never did get wings that would fly. 00:12:01.02\00:12:05.29 You see by depriving the moth of struggle, 00:12:06.60\00:12:09.72 he had prepared that moth to fail, 00:12:10.93\00:12:15.05 by depriving that moth of struggle, 00:12:15.31\00:12:17.66 he had deprived that moth of the ability to 00:12:17.86\00:12:21.75 fly. Now don't blame God for what the devil 00:12:21.76\00:12:28.06 does, please don't confuse God with life. 00:12:28.07\00:12:33.63 Verses 33 and 34, who will bring any charge 00:12:34.62\00:12:39.59 against those whom God has chosen? 00:12:39.60\00:12:41.47 It is God who justifies. Who is he that 00:12:41.98\00:12:44.70 condemns? Christ Jesus, who died more 00:12:44.71\00:12:47.28 than that, who was raised in life, is at the 00:12:47.29\00:12:48.86 right hand of God and is also interceding 00:12:48.87\00:12:50.79 for us. Now it's a little backward logic and 00:12:50.80\00:12:53.81 Christ does not condemn, God does not 00:12:53.86\00:12:56.41 condemn He is saying and that leaves Satan, 00:12:56.42\00:12:59.03 he's, Satan is called you know the accuser. 00:12:59.04\00:13:01.72 God does not condemn, as a matter of fact 00:13:03.14\00:13:06.02 the gospel could very well be summarized in 00:13:06.54\00:13:09.93 just four words, God is for us, and when life 00:13:09.94\00:13:16.01 seem difficult and you think you're out there 00:13:16.02\00:13:17.91 on the battlefield of the great controversy 00:13:17.92\00:13:20.11 all by yourself, God is for us. We must grow 00:13:20.12\00:13:26.65 beyond a contract relationship with God to 00:13:26.66\00:13:31.34 a trusting relationship here, you're taking 00:13:31.35\00:13:35.15 on a new job and you tell your boss, 00:13:35.16\00:13:38.71 I'll work for you so long as the pay is good 00:13:39.40\00:13:42.41 and the work is not too hard, but if the pay 00:13:42.42\00:13:49.36 is not good and the work is hard I'll quit. 00:13:49.37\00:13:53.13 We have too many contract Christians who 00:13:54.54\00:13:56.65 say I'll serve God so long as he pays well, 00:13:56.66\00:14:00.02 and so long as life doesn't get too hard, 00:14:00.92\00:14:03.15 but if it doesn't pay and if life gets hard 00:14:03.62\00:14:06.56 I'll quit. We need to go beyond that kind 00:14:07.12\00:14:09.84 of a contract Christianity to a mature 00:14:09.85\00:14:14.06 trusting Christianity that says some how God 00:14:14.39\00:14:17.20 and I together can make something good 00:14:17.21\00:14:19.72 come out of even this. God is not responsible 00:14:19.73\00:14:25.84 for sin we are not just our ancestors not 00:14:25.85\00:14:30.90 just Adam and Eve, we also have chosen 00:14:30.91\00:14:34.56 self-centeredness which is simply another 00:14:35.00\00:14:36.75 term for sin, probably happened already to you 00:14:36.76\00:14:39.83 today, but couldn't or not, an omnipotent 00:14:39.84\00:14:43.66 God stop this suffering, of course he could. 00:14:43.67\00:14:46.74 He can do everything this, this self-centered 00:14:46.75\00:14:49.79 living. I want to give two answers, 00:14:49.80\00:14:51.62 first of all why doesn't God stop suffering, 00:14:51.63\00:14:54.69 number one is because his omissions limits 00:14:54.83\00:14:57.90 his omnipotence. That's his wisdom overcomes 00:14:57.91\00:15:02.03 his overwhelming power he knows that in 00:15:02.17\00:15:04.94 order to have a world of love he cannot 00:15:04.95\00:15:08.54 force obedience, his omissions, 00:15:08.76\00:15:12.37 his wisdom limits his omnipotence, 00:15:12.46\00:15:15.58 his power. Love requires the right to choose, 00:15:15.73\00:15:20.36 even when the choice is wrong. 00:15:20.37\00:15:23.21 Even when the choice means the death of his 00:15:23.43\00:15:26.03 own son and so the second reason why God 00:15:26.04\00:15:31.66 has not stopped it, please understand he's 00:15:31.67\00:15:33.94 in the process, God is going to stop suffering, 00:15:33.95\00:15:36.75 he sent his son so he could stop and he will 00:15:36.76\00:15:38.89 stop and as soon as everyone has had the 00:15:38.90\00:15:40.92 opportunity to choose the son. 00:15:40.93\00:15:43.29 Meanwhile although, although I don't believe 00:15:45.36\00:15:48.78 our loving God causes trail. I do believe that 00:15:48.79\00:15:53.90 he uses it. When I was a boy I had a 00:15:53.91\00:16:00.52 mother who loved me very much, 00:16:00.53\00:16:03.84 she loved me so much that she made a 00:16:04.82\00:16:07.23 birthday cake for me from scratch, 00:16:07.24\00:16:10.61 now you can tell that it was a long time ago. 00:16:10.62\00:16:12.91 I watched as she put in some good things, 00:16:13.79\00:16:17.53 she put in some sugar, and she put in some 00:16:17.54\00:16:21.09 butter, but then she put in some things that 00:16:21.46\00:16:24.09 were not so appetizing, she added some flour, 00:16:24.10\00:16:26.98 some raw eggs, and some baking powder. 00:16:27.10\00:16:30.75 I learned however to trust her, 00:16:33.03\00:16:34.97 because I found out that when she mixed 00:16:35.74\00:16:38.46 all of these things together just right my 00:16:38.47\00:16:41.26 birthday cake turned out just right. 00:16:41.27\00:16:44.56 God brings some good things, so the devil 00:16:46.66\00:16:48.73 brings in life, brings some bad things, 00:16:48.74\00:16:50.98 but God takes those things and he mixes 00:16:50.99\00:16:53.16 them together and we just trust His mixing 00:16:53.17\00:16:55.91 our lives will turn out right. Life isn't fair, 00:16:56.74\00:17:02.12 but God is. We conqueror life through Christ. 00:17:03.07\00:17:08.46 Our sermon title comes from verse 37, 00:17:09.60\00:17:13.30 No in all these things we are more than 00:17:14.63\00:17:18.33 conquerors through him who loved us. 00:17:18.34\00:17:22.24 We conquered through Christ, how do we 00:17:22.46\00:17:26.16 conquer through Christ? Well first of all, 00:17:26.17\00:17:29.48 we conquer through Christ by following his 00:17:30.25\00:17:32.59 example, Jesus is our example, 00:17:32.60\00:17:35.07 verse 29 please, verse 29, for those God 00:17:35.37\00:17:40.32 foreknew He also predestined to be 00:17:40.33\00:17:42.40 conformed to the likeness of His Son, 00:17:42.41\00:17:44.95 that he might be the firstborn among many 00:17:44.96\00:17:47.55 bothers. Did you get the family analogy there 00:17:47.56\00:17:51.30 again, Jesus is the firstborn, he's our big 00:17:51.70\00:17:55.30 brother, I had two of those. I had two big 00:17:55.31\00:18:00.72 brothers and I learned to watch my big 00:18:00.73\00:18:04.39 brothers, and I had trouble getting the 00:18:04.40\00:18:08.67 spoon from the bowl up to my mouth until 00:18:08.68\00:18:13.19 I learned how my brothers did it, 00:18:13.20\00:18:16.11 and I learned from my brothers and I, 00:18:16.38\00:18:18.72 one of the toughest things I ever had to do 00:18:18.91\00:18:20.80 is learn to tie shoes and I learned from my 00:18:20.81\00:18:22.84 brothers. I learned how ride a bike from my 00:18:22.85\00:18:24.76 brothers. I learned by watching my brothers 00:18:24.77\00:18:27.39 and you will learn your way through trial by 00:18:27.55\00:18:32.00 watching your big brother. Jesus is your 00:18:32.01\00:18:35.01 big brother and He surely had plenty of trial. 00:18:35.02\00:18:37.84 He was conceived out of wedlock, 00:18:38.60\00:18:40.32 the tradition church hated Him. 00:18:40.97\00:18:42.77 His own church leaders disappointed him. 00:18:43.11\00:18:45.64 The Romans crucified him, Gethsemane 00:18:45.91\00:18:49.58 of course was his toughest trial of all, 00:18:49.59\00:18:52.10 but even there he trusted, he trusted the 00:18:52.11\00:18:54.83 Father's will more than his own. 00:18:54.84\00:18:58.34 And so by following Jesus example we can 00:18:59.83\00:19:05.43 succeed, be conquerors, Jesus is our 00:19:05.44\00:19:09.27 intercessor is another way that we are 00:19:09.28\00:19:12.90 conquerors through Christ. Look at verse 34 00:19:12.91\00:19:17.53 once more, who is he that condemns? 00:19:17.69\00:19:20.95 Christ Jesus, who died more than that, 00:19:21.14\00:19:23.21 who was raised to life is at the right hand 00:19:23.22\00:19:25.96 of God and is also interceding for us. 00:19:25.97\00:19:30.32 Christ intercedes for us, He waits to forgive 00:19:30.53\00:19:33.98 us I have here a $20 bill, fairly good looking 00:19:33.99\00:19:39.57 $20 bill as $20 bills go, would you be 00:19:39.58\00:19:43.83 interested, do you see any value in this $20 00:19:43.84\00:19:48.15 bill. Well if so, what if I would kind of do 00:19:48.16\00:19:54.31 this to it, now would you see a value in my 00:19:54.40\00:19:59.74 $20 bill? Or what if I would throw it on floor 00:19:59.75\00:20:04.73 and I would stomp on it and I would put it 00:20:04.74\00:20:06.78 in the grim and all the filth and all the dirt 00:20:06.79\00:20:09.11 then would you find value in my $20 bill? 00:20:10.24\00:20:14.79 Yes, because you know what a $20 bill is 00:20:14.80\00:20:17.82 worth, and though the world has stomped 00:20:17.83\00:20:24.05 on you, though you have been ground into 00:20:24.06\00:20:28.32 the dirt of this world, Jesus still seems, 00:20:28.33\00:20:32.45 well sees values in you, whether the rest of 00:20:32.46\00:20:36.06 the world does or not. Jesus knows your 00:20:36.07\00:20:39.73 value and He waits to forgive and intercede 00:20:39.74\00:20:42.92 for you. And then Jesus love is unfailing 00:20:42.93\00:20:48.70 how do we conquerors through Christ, 00:20:48.92\00:20:50.87 through his unfailing love, verses 38 and 39, 00:20:50.88\00:20:56.41 For I am convinced that neither death nor 00:20:56.73\00:20:59.04 life, neither angels nor demons, neither the 00:20:59.05\00:21:01.38 present nor the future, nor any powers, 00:21:01.39\00:21:03.48 neither height nor depth, not any thing else 00:21:03.86\00:21:06.37 and all creation will be able to separate us 00:21:06.38\00:21:08.88 from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus 00:21:08.89\00:21:12.53 our Lord. Jesus love is unfailing. 00:21:13.46\00:21:16.35 Our text talks about the height of 00:21:16.56\00:21:18.50 prosperity or the depths of trail and 00:21:18.63\00:21:21.66 discouragement. Nothing can separate you 00:21:21.67\00:21:25.44 from the love of God, you can separate 00:21:25.64\00:21:27.78 yourself by choosing not to follow him, 00:21:27.79\00:21:30.13 but you can't make him stop loving you. 00:21:30.14\00:21:32.80 Regardless of where you've been or what 00:21:36.39\00:21:40.50 you've done or what you're going through 00:21:40.51\00:21:43.54 right now. Your heavenly Father and 00:21:43.55\00:21:47.94 your big brother love you. His love remains 00:21:47.95\00:21:53.82 constant. Little girl loved her pretty new 00:21:54.15\00:21:57.92 doll and when the family got in the car to go 00:21:57.93\00:22:02.02 to the supermarket if they had forgotten 00:22:02.03\00:22:04.15 the doll they had to go back, because she 00:22:04.16\00:22:06.09 loved her pretty doll, and when they got to 00:22:06.10\00:22:08.69 supermarket. She ought to be left in the car, 00:22:08.70\00:22:11.26 no she had go into the supermarket too, 00:22:11.27\00:22:13.63 because she loved her pretty doll, 00:22:13.64\00:22:15.75 and when the little girl go went to bed at 00:22:15.93\00:22:17.27 night she wasn't ready to sleep until she 00:22:17.28\00:22:20.52 had that pretty doll by her side. 00:22:20.53\00:22:22.82 She played and played with her pretty doll 00:22:23.84\00:22:25.86 until. In the kitchen one day, she was 00:22:25.87\00:22:28.92 playing house and she puts her baby to bed 00:22:28.93\00:22:33.19 in a cupboard she thought, but to the little 00:22:33.20\00:22:38.27 girl the oven looked an awful lot like a 00:22:38.28\00:22:40.82 cupboard and the mother turned on the 00:22:40.83\00:22:45.18 oven later on and there was a peculiar odor 00:22:45.19\00:22:47.46 and, and finally she traced it to the oven 00:22:47.47\00:22:51.36 and there it was that poor little misshapen 00:22:52.43\00:22:54.79 doll one hand was totally melded off. 00:22:54.80\00:22:57.09 The eyes were all sunken back in her head. 00:22:57.10\00:22:59.24 The body was looked all, all sunken in and 00:22:59.45\00:23:02.26 the head was misshaped. But the little 00:23:02.27\00:23:07.58 girl still loved that disfigured doll and when 00:23:07.59\00:23:12.39 they went any place. They had to take that 00:23:12.40\00:23:14.66 disfigured doll, because disfigured as 00:23:14.67\00:23:17.12 she was. She still loved that little doll and 00:23:17.13\00:23:23.56 God is that way disfigured as you maybe 00:23:23.57\00:23:27.18 He still loves you. And then in another way 00:23:27.51\00:23:30.85 we conquer through Christ, is that he turns 00:23:30.86\00:23:33.80 bad into good now we're gonna read the 00:23:33.81\00:23:36.14 text that we read very often, but notice 00:23:36.15\00:23:38.69 this text is conditional on our loving Him 00:23:38.70\00:23:44.39 enough to trust Him in all things, 00:23:44.40\00:23:47.16 its verse 28, And we know that in all 00:23:47.17\00:23:50.90 things God works for good of those who 00:23:50.91\00:23:53.43 love Him who have been called according to 00:23:53.44\00:23:56.68 His purpose. Notice those operative words 00:23:56.69\00:24:00.84 things work for good to those who love 00:24:01.29\00:24:03.71 Him who are called according to His purpose, 00:24:03.72\00:24:08.29 those who trust Him. An Athlete is training 00:24:08.62\00:24:15.40 for the Olympics under her couch. 00:24:15.81\00:24:19.45 Olympic speed skating event, and the 00:24:19.94\00:24:27.30 athlete complaints that coach I don't see 00:24:27.31\00:24:29.83 your purpose in making me start off a line 00:24:29.84\00:24:32.76 this way and the coach replies trust me and 00:24:32.77\00:24:39.27 then the athlete says, but do I have to do 00:24:39.28\00:24:42.53 all things, why couldn't I take this turn my 00:24:42.54\00:24:45.78 way and then the coach says, no trust me 00:24:45.79\00:24:50.68 and the athlete says I've been out for six 00:24:51.71\00:24:53.92 hours. I've gone around this over and over 00:24:53.93\00:24:56.69 and over and over a hundred time, 00:24:56.70\00:24:57.93 my feet are blistered and I ache all over 00:24:57.94\00:25:00.16 and the coach says, do it again, 00:25:00.71\00:25:03.73 trust me and because she trusts her coach 00:25:04.87\00:25:10.00 and because she's willing to bear the pain 00:25:10.01\00:25:12.78 she becomes an Olympic champion and if 00:25:13.19\00:25:17.17 you and I will trust the coach and be wiling 00:25:17.18\00:25:20.62 to bear with his help the pain that life brings, 00:25:20.63\00:25:23.89 we too can be conquerors. We conquer 00:25:23.90\00:25:28.09 through Christ, our example in trial our 00:25:28.10\00:25:32.70 intercessor when we fail, He loves us no 00:25:32.71\00:25:35.71 matter what we do, and if we trust Him when 00:25:35.72\00:25:40.42 things seem to go bad He will turn them 00:25:40.43\00:25:42.76 into good. Life isn't fair, but God is. 00:25:43.04\00:25:48.70 The Bible says, he will wipe every tear from 00:25:50.26\00:25:52.66 their eyes, but this is only at the end, 00:25:52.67\00:25:56.47 this is a description of the beginning of 00:25:56.58\00:25:58.46 heaven. In another words the inference is 00:25:58.47\00:26:00.54 that we're going to have some tears 00:26:00.55\00:26:02.28 between now and heaven, all are going 00:26:02.29\00:26:05.23 to have some tears until then. 00:26:05.24\00:26:07.76 And you can conquerors through Christ. 00:26:08.96\00:26:12.47 When I was just a grade schooler, 00:26:15.03\00:26:19.02 I went to school, to a small school and we 00:26:20.68\00:26:25.68 had a small playground where we chose up 00:26:25.69\00:26:29.66 and played softball almost every recess and 00:26:29.67\00:26:35.56 I always if I had the chance to be captain I 00:26:37.97\00:26:42.76 always knew whom I was going to choose 00:26:42.77\00:26:46.86 first. It was my big brother Harve, because 00:26:46.87\00:26:50.55 my big brother Harve could hit that ball over 00:26:50.56\00:26:53.34 the tallest tree way out in center field. 00:26:53.35\00:26:56.45 I knew that if I could just chose Harve I 00:26:56.67\00:27:00.42 knew that I could win. The Lord Jesus is 00:27:00.43\00:27:03.53 your big brother, you can know if you choose 00:27:03.54\00:27:07.14 him you can win. Loving Father, we thank you 00:27:07.15\00:27:11.73 for the promise we have of wining through 00:27:11.74\00:27:15.17 Jesus. We trust you to mix the good with 00:27:15.18\00:27:18.79 bad and make of us something that you want 00:27:19.23\00:27:22.25 us to be and something that the world 00:27:22.26\00:27:24.24 can use, thank you in Jesus name. Amen. 00:27:24.25\00:27:29.19 Thank you for tuning in, I pray that as you 00:27:30.87\00:27:34.75 go to back to your life you will have totally 00:27:34.76\00:27:38.47 and absolutely chosen Christ as your big 00:27:38.48\00:27:43.00 brother, put Him on your side, 00:27:43.01\00:27:46.21 because with Him you can win. 00:27:47.04\00:27:51.64 May God bless. 00:27:52.41\00:27:53.66
