One of the greatest

Israel's conquest of the

are two pivotal things

in this chapter two.
One is that there is a

revelation of the

kindreds, tongue and people to

populate the place he
is now preparing for them

Jericho was the
key citadel of the

Jordan Valley. Its
elimination was the

first imperative task of Joshua.

Geographically it
commanded the passes

into the central
highlands by destroying Jericho

this center of
idolatry Israel would establish

number one, a bridge

Canaan's occupation
was 40 years deferred

After their reconnaissance

Here is all they brought
