profound principles

that if obeyed
and heated will make a

tremendous change in our lives.

Let's seek the Lord in prayer.

thank you so much for this

about being worldly minded,

passion for obtaining

goods or entertainments

or temporal enjoyment

that's what I mean by the world.

Our next
scripture John 17:15 says,

"I pray not that
thou shouldest taketh them
00:03:51.33\00:03:54.30
out of the world,
but that thou shouldest
00:03:54.31\00:03:56.70
keep them from
the evil." You see,
00:03:56.71\00:03:59.88
as Christians we shouldn't go
00:03:59.89\00:04:01.72
and run off in a cave somewhere,

no, we've a world to
win, amen. Absolutely,

but God wants you and
I to, to be Christians

that are in the
world, but not of the world.

In other words,
the worldly things

just don't have a
place in our hearts anymore,

if we want to be like Jesus

Here is another quote from

and eschewed evil."
So, how do you suppose

that Job was a
perfect man, an upright man?

Well, the
scripture tells us that

he eschewed evil, he
did not allow evil things

eschew means to reject,

changed. And so, we as

Christians we got
to be very careful,

we must be
absolutely careful of what we

allow into our
minds through the avenues

of the soul. Here's
a very powerful quote

I'd like to read for

Everything that can be done

We should carefully
guard the sight of our

there is this wonderful

buffer zone
between us and the world.

You see, I used to
have a great addiction to

movies and
television and all this type

of thing. And
whenever I wanted to go watch

something I went to
the nearest video store,

which was only
couple of blocks away,

and I'd rent what ever I wanted.

What was a
beautiful thing though,

God wanted to help
me overcome my addiction

with movies and
you may not have that

addiction many do.
He wanted to help me

and so, when I moved
out into the country,

it created a very
real hedge of protection,

a real buffer zone between me

and the world,
because for me to drive

over an hour
around trip to go rent

one silly video. How
many times do you think

I made that trip?
You see, it created a

buffer zone, but
friends, living out

in the country is
not enough you see.

We've to not take
the world with us.

Because we live in
a technological age

friends and with satellites now

and Internet and, and radio

and satellite radio and
everything that we have,

we can actually
take the world with us

out and even to the
country. God wants you

experience country living,

why do you think
that so? Because He knows

how strong the
pool of the world is?

And so he says,
is better to not live

in the city centers
that are so filled with sin

and so much temptation,
because frankly friends,

I've learned, I'm not
as strong as I think I am.

And I need every advantage that

I can get, I read
once that it's ten times
00:08:00.64\00:08:04.39
harder to raise
children in the city
00:08:04.40\00:08:08.52
then it is in
the country. Friends,

as a parent you
and I don't need things

to be harder; it's
already a challenge,

amen. But if you
and I continue to, to as

God's people to
live in the cities,

to live in the cities
where it's full of sin,

then I believe with
all up my heart that

we become weakened
through the constant

exposure to evil
and to the constant

worldly
environment all around us

and sin becomes
less sinful to us.

in the country though

not to take the city

library. I wonder if we were

to allow our children
to watch say fairy tales

or read them. I'm
wondering if it adds up

because it didn't say

whatsoever things are honest,

whatsoever things are true, yes.

So, if we're going
to allow them to watch

fairy tales,
what's to say one day

they're gonna
think God is a fairytale

need to believe in a God

undermines Christianity?

It's a dangerous

watch or read fiction.

they're seeing a six foot rat.

They can't distinguish
between what is fiction

Science bears that

revolutionize our homes

fact, I've seen it

thing from murder to rape

to stealing the
Lord's name in vain,

profanity,
inappropriate songs and music,

propaganda, premarital sex,
00:11:44.45\00:11:48.04
one person
capping on or belittling
00:11:48.05\00:11:51.41
the other person continually.

These are not Christian
things to behold, amen.
