up a test of discipleship.

As I'm analyzing this parable
the first thing I'm thinking

have bought a piece of property

and you've never seen it?

I recently moved, just
a couple of months ago,

from one place to another.

I saw this piece of property,
and I went out and I began to

walk across this property.

Then I stepped it off.

I wanted to make sure that it
was what it was supposed to be.
00:01:48.18\00:01:51.23
Then I wasn't
satisfied with that.

I walked every square
foot of it that I could get on.

I took my tape measure and I
measured across the frontage.

You know, I'm glad that I did.

It was twenty feet short!

I brought that to the attention
of the realtor, and he grabbed

You see, so I'm thinking,
what an excuse for not going to

A man's bought a piece of
property without seeing it.

buying oxen these days.

it was very prevalent.

February, and I saw oxen,

doing all of the work.

I can't imagine in Jesus'
day that someone had bought

they hadn't proved them yet.

So, to me again, another
flimsy excuse for not attending

Let's look on to verse 20.

As I looked at this I thought,

a lot of men are, at our home

invitation, it will be my wife

who wants to go to
the party, you see.

saying, Ah, honey,

Do I have to go, or can I stay?

So this man said, I
have just married a wife,

and therefore I cannot come.

That's probably the
flimsiest excuse of them all.

an exclusive invitation.

So then in that verse He
said, Let's take it now into the

So now we're leaving this
certain place, and we're going

out, and we're
bringing the invitation

to the rest of the city.

Then in verse 22 and 23:

You see, once again He
has extended the territory.

So I like to put it this way: He
invites us, and we find excuses

we can't be in His service.

day to day humdrum, the rut that

be a participant in this; why we

The realtor doesn't know it.

The people of the
world don't know it.

treasure, and I'm going to do

What am I going to do?

sign, and I turn it around.

He begins to count it out.

He counts it out, and finally
we get to the bottom line.

The bottom line is, Yes!

That is exactly the price
of this piece of property.

you today, What did it cost?

The kingdom of God is free.

that he could; all that he had.

is it will cost us all that we

doesn't stop there.

God accepts our past,

has to be submitted to Him.
