My topic is the Irrefutable Arguments that Jesus is Divine 00:00:20.18\00:00:25.15 I'm going to share with you some amazing revelations 00:00:25.19\00:00:30.09 from history, from Archeology, from the Bible itself, 00:00:30.13\00:00:36.06 that Christ is all he claimed to be and because He is 00:00:36.10\00:00:41.77 Divine, He can change your life. 00:00:41.80\00:00:44.84 Now you already may be a Christian and recognize 00:00:44.87\00:00:48.54 that Christ is the Divine Son of God. 00:00:48.58\00:00:51.11 You might say, what value will this program has for me? 00:00:51.15\00:00:55.45 I'm going to present to you such clear, powerful arguments for 00:00:55.48\00:01:01.06 His Divinity that you'll by able to share with your friends 00:01:01.09\00:01:05.53 who may be questioning who Jesus is. 00:01:05.56\00:01:09.06 This question of who Christ is has intrigued men and women 00:01:09.10\00:01:11.83 down through the centuries. Was He a good man? 00:01:11.87\00:01:15.14 Was he simply a moral-ethical teacher? 00:01:15.17\00:01:17.81 Was He really the Divine Son of God? 00:01:17.84\00:01:21.94 Let's pray and then we'll launch right into our presentation. 00:01:21.98\00:01:25.01 Father in Heaven, How we thank you that the 00:01:25.05\00:01:28.78 evidence is clear on who Jesus is, that there need be no doubt 00:01:28.82\00:01:33.25 in our mind. And I pray that as we look at that evidence 00:01:33.29\00:01:36.62 from History, from archaeology, from the Bible itself 00:01:36.66\00:01:41.10 that our hearts will be warmed and that we will sense 00:01:41.13\00:01:45.13 the reality that Jesus is the Divine Son of God 00:01:45.17\00:01:48.87 and that His offer of Eternal Life is real. 00:01:48.90\00:01:52.01 Thank you for that evidence, we pray in Jesus' name. 00:01:52.04\00:01:55.34 Amen! 00:01:55.38\00:01:56.71 Men and women down through the centuries asked the question 00:01:56.75\00:02:00.12 was Jesus really Divine? 00:02:00.15\00:02:02.15 Was Christ everything He claimed to be? 00:02:02.18\00:02:04.22 Now the problem you have is this, Jesus claimed to be 00:02:04.25\00:02:07.76 Divine, He claimed to be the Son of God, He claimed to have 00:02:07.79\00:02:12.09 no beginning and no ending, He claimed to be eternal. 00:02:12.13\00:02:16.70 If Christ is not the Divine Son of God, then you only have 00:02:16.73\00:02:21.57 really one of two choices, either He was openly lying 00:02:21.60\00:02:24.77 because He said He was and He was simply an imposter 00:02:24.81\00:02:30.15 simply one spouting falsehoods or the other option is that 00:02:30.18\00:02:34.75 He is diluted, if somebody says something that they are not... 00:02:34.78\00:02:37.99 You know we are a people, street preaching who is saying 00:02:38.02\00:02:42.82 I am Jesus, you know and so forth and what do you say 00:02:42.86\00:02:45.76 about those people who are claiming to be Christ and 00:02:45.79\00:02:48.86 who are kind of a little bit off...Where I come from 00:02:48.90\00:02:52.97 "off their rocker", they're really crackpots. 00:02:53.00\00:02:57.41 So is Jesus, what kind of evidence do you have there? 00:02:57.44\00:03:01.64 Is He lying? Is He a crackpot? Is He diluted? 00:03:01.68\00:03:05.85 Certainly not, the evidence doesn't bear that up. 00:03:05.88\00:03:08.25 Now first I want to go to history and we want to 00:03:08.28\00:03:12.59 raise the question, what does the historical evidence say 00:03:12.62\00:03:17.29 about Christ? Now when I talk about historical evidence 00:03:17.33\00:03:19.96 of course, the Bible is a historical book but I am 00:03:20.00\00:03:23.37 using the term in this sway this frame of reference that 00:03:23.40\00:03:27.90 what kind of extra-Biblical sources, what kind of 00:03:27.94\00:03:33.11 historical sources do we have outside the accurate history 00:03:33.14\00:03:36.91 of the Bible? 00:03:36.95\00:03:38.28 Professor Carnegie Simson once said this... 00:03:38.31\00:03:41.25 A very famed professor, he said... 00:03:41.28\00:03:43.79 If the being of God is beyond your understanding, 00:03:43.82\00:03:46.96 in other words, if you can't understand God, 00:03:46.99\00:03:48.82 the fact of Christ is not, He is a fact of history. 00:03:48.86\00:03:53.73 So even people like Professor Simpson say Jesus Christ 00:03:53.76\00:03:59.57 is a fact of history. If you are going to be honest 00:03:59.60\00:04:02.80 with the facts of history, you have to say that Christ existed. 00:04:02.84\00:04:06.27 Sir J.G Frazier was the Scottish Social Anthropologist, 00:04:06.31\00:04:12.31 many believe he was an atheist, he certainly was not a believer 00:04:12.35\00:04:16.12 and he said this. 00:04:16.15\00:04:17.52 My theory assumes the historical reality of Jesus as the great 00:04:17.55\00:04:22.89 religious and moral teacher who founded Christianity 00:04:22.92\00:04:25.73 and at Jerusalem under the government ship of Pontus 00:04:25.76\00:04:29.26 Pilate. So here you have a person who is an unbeliever who 00:04:29.30\00:04:35.80 has a social theory that he says my theory assumes that Christ 00:04:35.84\00:04:41.31 was the historical figure. 00:04:41.34\00:04:42.81 So you have professors who are unbelievers that are 00:04:42.84\00:04:47.52 talking about the reality of Christ. 00:04:47.55\00:04:50.25 Now what documents existed in the Roman Empire during the 00:04:50.29\00:04:55.86 days of Rome that spoke about Jesus? 00:04:55.89\00:04:58.56 I mean really, if you have... If Christ actually existed 00:04:58.59\00:05:02.56 which He did, if He existed there must be some evidence 00:05:02.60\00:05:06.13 outside of the Bible for that existence and there is. 00:05:06.17\00:05:10.44 Tacitus was one of the most famous Roman Historians 00:05:10.47\00:05:15.58 he wrote from A.D. 55 to A.D. 120, so just shortly after 00:05:15.61\00:05:22.28 25 years after the death of Christ, Tacitus was writing. 00:05:22.32\00:05:27.69 And Tacitus describes for example, The Existence of Early 00:05:27.72\00:05:33.43 Christians. He talks about Jesus' execution by Pontius 00:05:33.46\00:05:38.83 Pilate. Now how could someone so close to these events talk about 00:05:38.87\00:05:45.01 them if they were not real? 00:05:45.04\00:05:47.48 He talks about the six-day fire of Rome, that is Tacitus does 00:05:47.51\00:05:54.65 and it was burned of course by Nero and he then talks about the 00:05:54.68\00:05:58.72 origin of Christianity and the execution of Christ. 00:05:58.75\00:06:02.49 Tacitus actually talks about that. 00:06:02.52\00:06:04.29 Now you go even further than Tacitus, there was a 00:06:04.33\00:06:08.66 Governor of Bithynia, his name was Pliny, 00:06:08.70\00:06:12.17 there were two Pliny's, this is Pliny the younger, 00:06:12.20\00:06:14.60 the governor of Bithynia and he writes in fact 00:06:14.64\00:06:19.97 to the emperor and as he is writing to the emperor 00:06:20.01\00:06:24.85 he's talking about the growth of Christianity and how 00:06:24.88\00:06:28.45 Christians are in every place throughout his province. 00:06:28.48\00:06:32.52 And he says this is what they affirmed, I'm quoting, 00:06:32.55\00:06:35.82 that the whole of their guilt or error was that they were 00:06:35.86\00:06:39.69 in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before 00:06:39.73\00:06:42.50 it was light. They sang an alternative verse, 00:06:42.53\00:06:45.43 a hymn to Christ as to God, they bound themselves to a 00:06:45.47\00:06:49.70 solemn oath not to do any wicked deeds, never to commit any 00:06:49.74\00:06:53.21 fraud, theft, adultery, never to falsify their word, not to deny 00:06:53.24\00:06:58.28 a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up. 00:06:58.31\00:07:00.95 So Pliny is saying, these Christians are followers of 00:07:00.98\00:07:04.65 Christ. And he's writing here from 62 A.D. to 113 A.D. 00:07:04.69\00:07:10.76 he's writing in the 1st century and he's talking about 00:07:10.79\00:07:16.83 Christians who were an eye witness of Christ and they are 00:07:16.87\00:07:20.17 meeting for worship and praising God. 00:07:20.20\00:07:22.80 Now Josephus was a Jewish Historian, now you recognize 00:07:22.84\00:07:28.08 that Josephus is not going to have any motives to talk about 00:07:28.11\00:07:31.51 Christ and Josephus says: He's again a 1st Century. 00:07:31.55\00:07:37.12 Now there was about this time a wise man if it be lawful 00:07:37.15\00:07:40.46 to call him a man for he was as doer of wonderful works 00:07:40.49\00:07:43.79 a teacher of man who received the truth with pleasure. 00:07:43.83\00:07:46.66 He drew over to him many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. 00:07:46.70\00:07:50.77 So here you have a Jewish Historian speaking about Christ 00:07:50.80\00:07:55.37 who wins many Jews and who wins many Gentiles, 00:07:55.40\00:08:00.68 there is historical evidence outside of the Bible 00:08:00.71\00:08:06.41 you can read it in Tacitus, you can read it in Pliny, 00:08:06.45\00:08:10.12 you can read it in Josephus, you can read it in Suetonius. 00:08:10.15\00:08:14.46 Here are men who have no motive to write about the Divine Christ 00:08:14.49\00:08:19.93 but they write that he did exist. 00:08:19.96\00:08:23.50 Throughout the Bible we have clear evidence that Christ 00:08:23.53\00:08:27.70 claims to be divine, you look In John chapter one verse 00:08:27.74\00:08:32.91 one to three, John verse 1:1-3. 00:08:32.94\00:08:36.54 The gospels were written in for different audiences, 00:08:36.58\00:08:42.55 if you want to know about the sermons of Christ, you'll read 00:08:42.58\00:08:45.65 the gospels of Matthew. You want to know about the parables 00:08:45.69\00:08:48.82 of Christ, you read the gospel of Luke. 00:08:48.86\00:08:51.03 You want to know about the humanity of Christ, 00:08:51.06\00:08:53.40 you read the gospel of Mark, but if you want to know about 00:08:53.43\00:08:56.36 the divinity of Christ, you read the gospel of John. 00:08:56.40\00:08:59.93 John starts in John chapter one and we are going to 00:08:59.97\00:09:04.47 read verses one to three. 00:09:04.51\00:09:06.11 So here you have very clearly outlined in the gospel of John 00:09:24.26\00:09:30.60 what John says is the word was with God and the word was God. 00:09:30.63\00:09:38.71 The word became flesh John says and dwelt among us. 00:09:38.74\00:09:43.85 The word became flesh so Christ left the glory 00:09:43.88\00:09:49.12 and splendor of heaven, tabernacled in human flesh, 00:09:49.15\00:09:53.15 and became a human being the Divine-human Christ. 00:09:53.19\00:09:59.63 Christ was Divine and he was a human, it was this combination 00:09:59.66\00:10:04.37 of this Divine-human Christ but He came and walked among us. 00:10:04.40\00:10:08.54 He walked the dusty streets of Galilee, the cobblestone 00:10:08.57\00:10:12.04 streets of Jerusalem, He touched the eyes of the blind and they 00:10:12.07\00:10:16.01 were opened and the ears of the deaf and they were unstopped. 00:10:16.04\00:10:18.68 He healed the withered man's arm and caused the lame to 00:10:18.71\00:10:22.68 jump and run again and this Christ opened His heart 00:10:22.72\00:10:28.52 to forgive sins, to deliver men and women from the guilt 00:10:28.56\00:10:32.26 and shame and condemnation of sin. 00:10:32.29\00:10:34.93 He delivered them from the power and the grip and the chains 00:10:34.96\00:10:38.70 of evil. This Jesus revealed what God was like, 00:10:38.73\00:10:43.44 He revealed the character of God here John chapter one says. 00:10:43.47\00:10:49.18 and the word became flesh and dwelt among us 00:10:49.21\00:10:52.21 so when we look at Jesus we see what God is like. 00:10:52.25\00:10:56.02 We see God's character of love but Jesus claimed to be Divine 00:10:56.05\00:11:00.76 He claimed to be equal with the Father, 00:11:00.79\00:11:02.69 you find this in the gospel of John 8:58, John:8 and we are 00:11:02.72\00:11:09.53 looking there at verses 58, and here in John 8: verse 58 00:11:09.56\00:11:14.64 the scripture puts it this way. 00:11:14.67\00:11:18.51 Now I don't want to go over this text too fast, 00:11:36.39\00:11:38.19 He said before Abraham was, I am. 00:11:38.23\00:11:40.20 Now the New Testament is written in the Greek language, 00:11:40.23\00:11:42.73 which is the expression for I am there is Ego eimi. 00:11:42.76\00:11:46.87 Can you say that? 00:11:46.90\00:11:48.24 I know you can. Ego ami. It's a Greek expression and 00:11:48.27\00:11:51.47 this is what it means. 00:11:51.51\00:11:52.84 It means the self-existed one, it means the one who has existed 00:11:52.87\00:11:56.38 from all eternity. 00:11:56.41\00:11:57.75 Remember the time that I was used Moses comes to the bush 00:11:57.78\00:12:02.32 the bush, the bush does not burn and as he's coming to 00:12:02.35\00:12:06.55 the bush he sees the fire, it's burning but it is not 00:12:06.59\00:12:09.52 consumed and the I Am speaks to him from the bush. 00:12:09.56\00:12:14.66 God and So this term I Am the self-existent one, 00:12:14.70\00:12:19.53 the one who never had a beginning or will have an 00:12:19.57\00:12:21.17 ending, this I Am is the one who Jesus claims to be. 00:12:21.20\00:12:28.58 He claims to be equal with the Father existing with Him 00:12:28.61\00:12:31.21 for all eternity. The Jews understood what Jesus meant 00:12:31.25\00:12:33.58 and as a result of that, they went to stone him. 00:12:33.62\00:12:37.15 Why? Because he claimed to be God. 00:12:37.19\00:12:38.69 So either Jesus is what He says He is or He's the liar and 00:12:38.72\00:12:43.29 imposter, the evidence certainly doesn't bear that, does it? 00:12:43.32\00:12:46.86 You know Charles Lamb, the great writer said this, 00:12:46.90\00:12:49.16 he said if Shakespeare came into the room, we would rise up 00:12:49.20\00:12:55.80 to meet him, but if Jesus walked into the room, 00:12:55.84\00:12:58.97 we would bow at His feet and cry Holy, Holy, Holy 00:12:59.01\00:13:02.61 in adoration and worship. 00:13:02.64\00:13:05.15 Now let's consider some of the prophecies in the Old Testament 00:13:05.18\00:13:08.72 that really confirms the divinity of Christ. 00:13:08.75\00:13:12.95 Prophecies that were centuries old fulfilled in Christ. 00:13:12.99\00:13:16.46 The first prophecy we're going to go to is Isaiah, 00:13:16.49\00:13:19.13 if you want to know something about somebody you look at 00:13:19.16\00:13:23.06 their birth. Where were they born, when were they born, 00:13:23.10\00:13:27.17 what was the family of their birth? 00:13:27.20\00:13:29.57 Isaiah chapter seven and we're looking here at verse 14. 00:13:29.60\00:13:34.48 Isaiah 7:14, Eternal Truths Matter, the eternal truth 00:13:34.51\00:13:40.18 that the Bible is the Word of God matters. the eternal truth 00:13:40.22\00:13:43.55 that Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God eternal, that 00:13:43.59\00:13:47.36 matters. Isaiah 7:14, the first prophecy 00:13:47.39\00:13:51.63 What does Immanuel mean? It means God with us. 00:13:59.47\00:14:02.84 God with us. So here it says a virgin is going to bear a son 00:14:02.87\00:14:09.94 and call his name Emmanuel, God with us. 00:14:09.98\00:14:12.71 Now when you go to the New Testament and you look for 00:14:12.75\00:14:15.35 example at the gospel Luke 1: 26 and 27. 00:14:15.38\00:14:18.92 The angel comes to Mary and the angel declares to Mary 00:14:18.95\00:14:26.13 that this prophecy was fulfilled. 00:14:26.16\00:14:28.96 Luke Chapter 1 verses 26, 27, 00:14:29.00\00:14:31.87 And so the angel comes to her and He says, Mary 00:14:47.82\00:14:50.79 you are highly favored above all women, you are going to 00:14:50.82\00:14:53.72 bear a son and she's perplexed as a virgin, how am I ever 00:14:53.76\00:14:57.36 going to bear a son, I've known no man? 00:14:57.39\00:14:59.43 And, the angel says what's conceived in you is done of 00:14:59.46\00:15:03.50 the Holy Spirit, so you have Isaiah predicted that Jesus had 00:15:03.53\00:15:07.74 be born of a virgin, you have both the gospel of Luke 00:15:07.77\00:15:11.34 and the gospel of Matthew applying this prophecy. 00:15:11.37\00:15:14.54 Now also, if you are studying somebody's lineage, 00:15:14.58\00:15:20.18 you want to know where they were born. 00:15:20.22\00:15:22.38 Did you know that hundreds of years in advance, 00:15:22.42\00:15:25.19 centuries in advance the prophecies in Micah predict 00:15:25.22\00:15:31.19 that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem? 00:15:31.23\00:15:34.00 I mean really, it's quite remarkable. 00:15:34.03\00:15:36.73 Micah, the fifth chapter and the second verse. 00:15:36.77\00:15:40.60 And you'll notice how scripture puts it there 00:15:40.64\00:15:43.10 Micah chapter 5:2. 00:15:43.14\00:16:03.32 Here is the one who's going forth should have been from all 00:16:03.36\00:16:07.83 eternity, that one would be born in Bethlehem. 00:16:07.86\00:16:11.77 How did Micah know that Christ would be born in Bethlehem, 00:16:11.80\00:16:15.74 how did he know that hundreds of years in advance? 00:16:15.77\00:16:18.17 And if you want to see the fulfillment of that you go to 00:16:18.21\00:16:21.11 Luke chapter two, see Jesus is more than a good man 00:16:21.14\00:16:24.71 philosopher, He is the divine Son of God. 00:16:24.75\00:16:30.52 You have irrefutable arguments of Christ being Divine both 00:16:30.55\00:16:34.92 in History and Prophecy in His life that He lived, 00:16:34.96\00:16:38.33 Luke Chapter Two Verse four shows the fulfillment of that. 00:16:38.39\00:16:42.43 Notice what scripture says? 00:16:59.98\00:17:02.62 Being great with child. So they come to this town of 00:17:02.65\00:17:06.12 Bethlehem and Christ is born in Bethlehem. 00:17:06.15\00:17:09.92 They travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem is some 90 miles 00:17:09.96\00:17:13.60 so Mary doesn't have the baby on the way, 00:17:13.63\00:17:15.66 she's nine months pregnant, she has it the very night 00:17:15.70\00:17:18.47 that she is coming into Bethlehem. 00:17:18.50\00:17:20.47 Jesus is more than a good man. 00:17:20.50\00:17:23.44 More than an ethical philosopher, more than a moral 00:17:23.47\00:17:28.61 teacher, prophecy after prophecy reveals He is the divine Son of 00:17:28.64\00:17:33.75 God. And you know the amazing thing? Prophecy talks about His 00:17:33.78\00:17:38.19 life, that He would heal the sick, raise the dead, 00:17:38.22\00:17:42.99 deliver the demoniacs, set free the captives. 00:17:43.02\00:17:48.33 You find that throughout the book of Isiah. 00:17:48.36\00:17:53.64 but most of the prophecies that are so remarkable 00:17:53.67\00:17:58.21 so precise, so accurate come to fulfillment right around 00:17:58.24\00:18:03.81 the time of Christ's death. 00:18:03.85\00:18:06.01 Did you know that it was actually predicted hundreds 00:18:06.05\00:18:09.35 of years in advance that Jesus would be sold for 30 pieces 00:18:09.38\00:18:12.05 of silver? Isn't that the money that He was sold for, 00:18:12.09\00:18:16.12 betrayed for by Judas would be used to buy a Potter's 00:18:16.16\00:18:18.86 Field? You say, is that prophecy in the Bible? 00:18:18.89\00:18:21.96 Indeed it is. 00:18:22.00\00:18:23.33 Take your Bible and turn to Luke, rather Zachariah 11 00:18:23.37\00:18:30.01 verse 13 and 14 and we're going to pick up verse 12 as well 00:18:30.04\00:18:36.04 You're looking at Zachariah, you find that little tiny book 00:18:36.08\00:18:40.28 in the Old Testament written hundreds before the birth 00:18:40.32\00:18:44.22 of Christ and here's what Zachariah says, 00:18:44.25\00:18:46.92 get ready for this because what he says is really amazing. 00:18:46.96\00:18:49.49 Are you ready? Here we go. Zachariah 11: verse 12 and 13. 00:18:49.52\00:18:53.33 How in the world would Zachariah knows the exact 00:19:12.95\00:19:20.59 price of a slave would be 30 pieces of silver when 00:19:20.62\00:19:25.06 Christ came? And how would he know that money would be cast 00:19:25.09\00:19:29.86 in for the temple and the priest wouldn't know what to do 00:19:29.90\00:19:34.64 with is so they would take it and buy a Potter's Field? 00:19:34.67\00:19:37.61 How does Zachariah know that hundreds of years in advance? 00:19:37.64\00:19:41.74 because the Bible is divinely inspired book and Jesus is 00:19:41.78\00:19:44.95 the divine Son of God. 00:19:44.98\00:19:46.31 Now, you look at the fulfillment of that prophecy in Matthew 26 00:19:46.35\00:19:51.12 verse 15. So you can take these Old Testament Prophecies 00:19:51.15\00:19:54.36 and you can compare them to what the New Testament says 00:19:54.39\00:19:57.53 and you find that they are fulfilled exactly, minutely, 00:19:57.56\00:20:01.03 specifically. Matthew 26, we're looking there at verse 15 00:20:01.06\00:20:06.00 and you see the fulfillment of this prophecy. 00:20:06.03\00:20:08.70 The gospel of Matthew is very detailed in its records. 00:20:08.74\00:20:13.78 Why are these so accurate? 00:20:13.81\00:20:15.78 Because God wants us to know the Word of God is accurate 00:20:15.81\00:20:19.65 So here you have mentioned the thirty pieces of silver 00:20:27.29\00:20:29.89 and other gospels talk about the fact that Jesus came 00:20:29.92\00:20:32.93 that Judas came with the betrayal money that he had 00:20:32.96\00:20:36.13 from Jesus and he threw it on the floor of the temple 00:20:36.16\00:20:38.10 and the priest didn't know what to do with it, what'd they do? 00:20:38.13\00:20:40.34 they went out and bought a Potter's Field. 00:20:40.37\00:20:41.74 Prophecy is so incredibly accurate, Jesus is born 00:20:41.77\00:20:46.14 of a virgin exactly like the Bible teaches. 00:20:46.17\00:20:48.28 Jesus is born in Bethlehem exactly as the Bible teaches. 00:20:48.31\00:20:52.01 He performed the works of a Messiah, exactly like it said in 00:20:52.05\00:20:56.69 Isaiah 61 and Luke chapter 4. 00:20:56.72\00:20:59.35 Jesus Christ the Divine Son of God sold for thirty pieces 00:20:59.39\00:21:05.49 of silver, when he was taken used the Potter's Field. 00:21:05.53\00:21:08.96 Jesus indeed was crucified like Psalms predicted. 00:21:09.00\00:21:14.74 Psalm 22, Psalm 22 predicts that Jesus Christ Himself 00:21:14.77\00:21:21.94 would be crucified. You know the story and you know it well. 00:21:21.98\00:21:26.51 Psalm 22 verses 16, 17, and 18. 00:21:26.55\00:21:31.09 Here it says they pierced Christ's hands and feet 00:21:49.30\00:21:53.81 crucifixion was not introduced in the days of David. 00:21:53.84\00:21:59.35 David wrote the Psalms 1,000 years before Christ, 00:21:59.38\00:22:02.28 crucifixion was not introduced until the time of the Romans 00:22:02.32\00:22:05.35 150 years before Christ. 00:22:05.39\00:22:07.16 But yet, over 850 years in advance before crucifixion 00:22:07.19\00:22:13.93 existed...See the Jewish method of capital punishment was 00:22:13.96\00:22:17.63 stoning or hanging, you stoned them or you hung them. 00:22:17.67\00:22:20.57 But here, the Bible said they pierced my hands, 00:22:20.60\00:22:23.81 they pierced my feet and obviously, it's crucifixion 00:22:23.84\00:22:27.28 and as they parted garment they played dice 00:22:27.31\00:22:31.48 they parted my garments among them. 00:22:31.51\00:22:33.05 Such a small detail, why do we have these details 00:22:33.08\00:22:39.62 given to us? The reason we have them given to us is because 00:22:39.65\00:22:46.16 God wants us to know the Bible is not some common book 00:22:46.19\00:22:50.77 or some ordinary book... That Jesus is much more than 00:22:50.80\00:22:54.14 a good man, that there are irrefutable arguments that 00:22:54.17\00:22:58.91 Jesus Christ is divine. Here in Matthew 27 we read the 00:22:58.94\00:23:05.51 confirmation story of the crucifixion, Matthew chapter 27 00:23:05.55\00:23:11.15 and we read the confirmation story of the crucifixion 00:23:11.19\00:23:15.96 verse 5, verse 6, prophecies centuries-old for fulfilled 00:23:15.99\00:23:22.23 in the life of Christ. 00:23:22.26\00:23:23.70 That's Judas. 00:23:23.73\00:23:30.11 Confirmation of the events that took place right at 00:23:43.99\00:23:48.42 the crucifixion, you go on and you read how the nails were 00:23:48.46\00:23:52.93 driven through Christ's hands exactly as the Bible said. 00:23:52.96\00:23:56.43 Christ is different than any philosopher, certainly different 00:23:56.46\00:24:00.40 then Socrates, certainly different than Plato, 00:24:00.44\00:24:02.80 certainly different from Aristotle. 00:24:02.84\00:24:05.31 You know Socrates taught for 50 years, for 40 years, 00:24:05.34\00:24:10.85 Plato taught for 50 years, and Aristotle for 40 years. 00:24:10.88\00:24:14.95 So that's 130 years if you take Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle 00:24:14.98\00:24:19.95 but yet Christ only taught for three and a half years 00:24:19.99\00:24:23.89 yet His teachings have been more impactful in the 130 years 00:24:23.93\00:24:30.57 than the 130 years. Jesus never painted a picture... 00:24:30.60\00:24:34.94 But when you think about it the paintings of Raphael 00:24:34.97\00:24:38.47 and Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci all received their 00:24:38.51\00:24:41.98 inspiration from Him and you think about the fact that 00:24:42.01\00:24:45.35 Jesus wrote no poetry but you have Daunte and Milton, 00:24:45.38\00:24:49.35 and scores of the world's greatest poets who 00:24:49.38\00:24:51.65 are inspired by Christ. 00:24:51.69\00:24:55.39 Jesus composed no music, but you have Hayden, and Hendo, 00:24:55.42\00:25:01.46 and Beethoven, and Bach, and Mendelssohn reach their 00:25:01.50\00:25:04.33 highest perfection of melodies, and hymns, and symphonies, 00:25:04.37\00:25:07.04 and oratories in His praise. 00:25:07.07\00:25:09.57 See, every sphere of human existence has been impacted 00:25:09.60\00:25:14.91 by the living Christ and He can impact your life too. 00:25:14.94\00:25:20.45 If Jesus is divine and He is, if He is the Son of God, and He is 00:25:20.48\00:25:26.72 then His offer of eternal life is real. 00:25:26.76\00:25:30.96 And Jesus says to you and me today, if we confess our sins, 00:25:30.99\00:25:35.96 He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and 00:25:36.00\00:25:40.30 cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 00:25:40.34\00:25:42.30 Are you burdened with guilt this day? 00:25:42.34\00:25:46.27 Does condemnation for your past weigh you down? 00:25:46.31\00:25:50.48 Is it like a great weight upon your shoulder that you can't 00:25:50.51\00:25:55.68 seem to get off? 00:25:55.72\00:25:57.72 Jesus speaks to you today you did not watch this telecast 00:25:57.75\00:26:03.46 by accident, you didn't tune in to Three Angels Broadcasting 00:26:03.49\00:26:09.26 just by chance.
