saw this beast, he said he

and the feet of a bear and

had 10 horns, and so it's

almost impossible to
imagine that there could

similarity or a harmony

between these two individuals.

Christ, our message is

three very powerful and very

peculiar offices that
Jesus Christ fills for the

Christian. Let's
begin in Matthew chapter 12

and I am reading in
verse 6. Matthew chapter 12

and verse 6, Jesus
speaking and says, yet

I say to you that in this
place there is one greater

than the what everyone?
Greater than the temple,
00:11:42.13\00:11:45.44
Jesus here says, the
temple is great but in this
00:11:45.47\00:11:48.47
place there is one
greater than the temple.
00:11:48.50\00:11:50.18
What was the significance
of the temple, not the
00:11:50.21\00:11:52.56
edifice itself friends,
but the inter, inner workings
00:11:52.59\00:11:57.44
of the temple, the
furniture that was there
00:11:57.47\00:11:59.28
and particularly the
priests, each one of those
00:11:59.31\00:12:01.82
priests pointing
forward to Jesus Christ as our

great high priest.
Now notice what he goes on

picking up in verse 39.

an evil and adulterous

a sign and no sign will be

sign of the Prophet Jonah.

Now, we might legitimately

ask who was Jonah?
Listen very carefully,

is a small book in the

Old Testament, one
of the minor prophets.

Jonah is unquestionably
one of the single most

potent prophets in the

Old Testament. Take
for example the contrast

between Jonah and

chapters approximately,
and I can't find a single

place in the entire
can, in the entire book of

Jeremiah where
anybody paid any attention to

anything that Jeremiah
said. And then contrast that

with Jonah who was
after he was belched out

belly of that great
fish he went and preached in

Nineveh and 60 thousand
plus people repented and

all he did was
preach for a few sermons.

Now I would call that
very successful. Friends,

repented at the preaching

of any prophet or any
minister or any pastor,

So, Jesus here points at

Now who is Solomon?
Solomon was the wisest

history of antiquity of

the nation of Israel
and he says Solomon's reign

glorious, yet a greater than

Solomon is here. What
is Jesus saying, he says

I'm greater than the
temple, I'm greater than

the greatest prophet
and I'm greater than the

greatest King. Jesus
here outlines for us, his

three roles that Jesus Christ

Incarnate God for the believer.

Friends, Jesus Christ is
a three fold minister for

prophet, He is our priest
