Welcome to Battle Creek. We will 00:00:18.38\00:00:19.91 continue, continue our Eleventh Hour 00:00:19.95\00:00:22.48 Evidence Seminar. It all begins tonight with our 00:00:22.52\00:00:26.15 friend, Buddy Houghtaling in his song "Hands on God". 00:00:26.19\00:00:29.39 There was nothing at all when He came 00:00:43.27\00:00:46.98 and He called out all that there 00:00:47.01\00:00:49.78 be. And there was light, 00:00:49.81\00:00:55.72 there was air, trees and stars everywhere, 00:00:55.75\00:01:00.56 He was so well pleased, Birds of every color, 00:01:00.59\00:01:08.96 Fish of every size and the mounts abounding 00:01:09.00\00:01:14.94 all the earth. He had spoken there, 00:01:14.97\00:01:20.51 He is the way with words, 00:01:20.54\00:01:26.35 but there is nothing to say, as He molded the 00:01:26.38\00:01:33.66 clay, His lips they fell siding 00:01:33.69\00:01:37.56 because He loved them too much just to speak 00:01:37.59\00:01:44.27 not to touch, He's a hands on God. 00:01:44.30\00:01:49.37 And you just couldn't bare not to hold not to 00:01:49.40\00:01:57.31 care, He's a hand's on God. 00:01:57.35\00:02:01.48 The joy of their Creator, The image of His dead 00:02:01.52\00:02:09.86 So much more then just some breath inside 00:02:09.89\00:02:14.20 They were the Children of 00:02:14.23\00:02:18.70 The hands on God. He could have run from 00:02:18.73\00:02:34.55 the room, When she poured the 00:02:34.58\00:02:37.59 perfume on her Savior. He could have taken a 00:02:37.62\00:02:46.36 seat instead of washing the feet of the twelve of 00:02:46.39\00:02:51.87 them. He could have gone 00:02:51.90\00:02:56.77 right back to heaven, When they shouted 00:02:56.81\00:02:59.84 crucified. Put His hands away from 00:02:59.87\00:03:04.05 that old cross, But He loved us too 00:03:04.08\00:03:10.22 much to deny us that touch. 00:03:10.25\00:03:13.79 He's a hands on God. And you just couldn't 00:03:13.82\00:03:21.96 bare not to hold not to care, 00:03:22.00\00:03:25.63 He's a hands on God. Still the joy of our 00:03:25.67\00:03:33.71 Creator. The image of His dead, 00:03:33.74\00:03:37.81 So much more than just breath and sought 00:03:37.85\00:03:43.55 With the children of, The hands on God 00:03:43.59\00:03:54.06 Still the children of The hands on God. 00:03:54.10\00:04:04.74 Thanks Buddy, we really appreciate your 00:04:04.77\00:04:21.12 gift in music. Friend, I want to try a little bit of 00:04:21.16\00:04:25.29 a quiz with you folks tonight here and with 00:04:25.33\00:04:27.63 you out there in the watching audience of 00:04:27.66\00:04:30.67 3ABN. Here's how the quiz goes, you ready 00:04:30.70\00:04:33.80 for a quiz? I want you guys to put on thinking 00:04:33.84\00:04:36.64 caps, I got my degree in history, so this is a little 00:04:36.67\00:04:39.21 bit easier for me than it might for you. Can you 00:04:39.24\00:04:41.91 tell me right now who was the most powerful 00:04:41.94\00:04:46.21 man here's the hint, the emperor of the world, 00:04:46.25\00:04:49.25 the Roman world in A.D. 27. Anyone able to 00:04:49.28\00:04:53.36 tell me that tonight? Nobody knows, I heard 00:04:53.39\00:04:56.69 somebody say Augustus. Actually, the 00:04:56.73\00:04:58.63 right word is Tiberius, the right name is 00:04:58.66\00:05:00.73 Tiberius Caesar. Can anyone name his mom? 00:05:00.76\00:05:03.87 I'm not getting takers on it. His mom's name was 00:05:03.90\00:05:10.51 Olivia. Can anybody name for me his three 00:05:10.54\00:05:14.34 closest friends? Again nobody, I'm not even 00:05:14.38\00:05:19.58 gonna try that one David. Can anyone tell 00:05:19.61\00:05:22.62 me something famous that he said? Again 00:05:22.65\00:05:26.76 nobody, hey this is the most powerful man in 00:05:26.79\00:05:28.59 the world folks. How come you know so little 00:05:28.62\00:05:30.76 about this person who is the ruler of the known 00:05:30.79\00:05:33.40 world in A.D. 27. Let's just try different one. Let's 00:05:33.43\00:05:36.63 try different one what you say. Let's go to the 00:05:36.67\00:05:38.67 back water region of the Roman world let's say 00:05:38.70\00:05:41.27 Judea, okay. And let's go to the back water region 00:05:41.30\00:05:46.57 of Judea. Let's try for instance Nazareth. Let's 00:05:46.61\00:05:53.31 go to the backwater part of Nazareth, a carpenter 00:05:53.35\00:05:56.38 shop and now I want to ask do you know 00:05:56.42\00:05:58.25 anybody that's working in a carpenter shop in 00:05:58.29\00:06:00.49 A.D. 27 in Nazareth? Hmm that's pretty good, 00:06:00.52\00:06:04.96 do you know his mother's name? Do you 00:06:04.99\00:06:07.56 know his father's name? Do you know three of 00:06:07.60\00:06:10.67 his closest friends? Can you repeat anything 00:06:10.70\00:06:15.47 famous that he said? Of course you can right. 00:06:15.50\00:06:19.07 What do you think you are. How do you know 00:06:19.11\00:06:21.14 so much about a guy from a backwater 00:06:21.18\00:06:23.24 carpenter shop in Nazareth and so little 00:06:23.28\00:06:26.68 about the man, who is the ruler of the known 00:06:26.72\00:06:29.08 world. That my friend's is a miracle. That is one 00:06:29.12\00:06:34.16 of the miracles that makes me believe that 00:06:34.19\00:06:35.96 Jesus Christ is alive tonight. Not yet 00:06:35.99\00:06:38.53 convinced oh! my friends. I like to 00:06:38.56\00:06:41.23 introduce to you tonight's speaker David 00:06:41.26\00:06:43.33 Asscherick will take a step closer to believing 00:06:43.37\00:06:46.33 that God loves us, that He is alive and that 00:06:46.37\00:06:49.20 Jesus is the name. Amen. 00:06:49.24\00:06:51.94 Good evening everyone. 00:06:51.97\00:06:53.38 Good evening. Did anybody here know 00:06:53.41\00:06:56.08 Caesar Tiberius' mother's name? I'm 00:06:56.11\00:06:59.58 glad he didn't ask me that question publicly. 00:06:59.61\00:07:02.22 How was your day today? Nice. Did you 00:07:02.25\00:07:04.85 have a nice Sabbath? Yes. 00:07:04.89\00:07:06.49 Amen. I want to thank Buddy again for that 00:07:06.52\00:07:08.12 song wasn't that beautiful? I love those 00:07:08.16\00:07:10.99 songs there are so, there are so rich, not just in 00:07:11.03\00:07:13.93 the melody, but in the lyrics, thank you 00:07:13.96\00:07:15.30 Buddy, God has definitely given you a 00:07:15.33\00:07:16.67 gift. Alright, we have a significant amount of 00:07:16.70\00:07:19.83 information to cover tonight. Our message is 00:07:19.87\00:07:21.44 entitled. Does God Exist; Does it Matter? 00:07:21.47\00:07:26.17 Does God Exist; Does it Matter? And because 00:07:26.21\00:07:29.44 we have such a stupendous amount of 00:07:29.48\00:07:31.35 information to cover tonight we want to 00:07:31.38\00:07:32.78 make an earnest appeal to you at the end of this. 00:07:32.81\00:07:34.92 We're going to begin right away by praying 00:07:34.95\00:07:38.25 and I invite you to do that with me as we 00:07:38.29\00:07:40.26 commence. Father in heaven, we 00:07:40.29\00:07:45.99 come just tonight and we marvel that we 00:07:46.03\00:07:48.73 knew so little and still know so little of Caesar 00:07:48.76\00:07:51.17 Tiberius and yet father we know so much of 00:07:51.20\00:07:53.60 Thee. Lord we come to you tonight praying 00:07:53.64\00:07:57.31 that in a very special way in a marked way 00:07:57.34\00:07:59.77 that you will speak directly to our hearts 00:07:59.81\00:08:02.08 into our minds. Father, we live in a world in 00:08:02.11\00:08:05.18 which many people are doubting your existence 00:08:05.21\00:08:07.82 and questioning whether or not you are 00:08:07.85\00:08:09.45 even there and yet father you are so near, 00:08:09.48\00:08:12.85 so there and tonight we ask that you please will 00:08:12.89\00:08:16.79 come into this room that you will speak to 00:08:16.83\00:08:19.26 our minds as well as to our hearts. And father 00:08:19.29\00:08:21.83 that we will have a stronger conviction that 00:08:21.86\00:08:26.07 this is in fact the Eleventh Hour and 00:08:26.10\00:08:28.54 there is a considerable amount of evidence to 00:08:28.57\00:08:30.74 buttress that assertion. Father this is the 00:08:30.77\00:08:33.74 Eleventh Hour, as we turn now to your word 00:08:33.78\00:08:36.38 into your spirit may you give us evidence. We 00:08:36.41\00:08:39.55 ask in Jesus name, Amen. 00:08:39.58\00:08:42.52 I like to invite you to go with me in your Bibles 00:08:42.55\00:08:45.85 to a very interesting text found in the Book of 00:08:45.89\00:08:48.99 Psalms, what book we are going to everyone? 00:08:49.02\00:08:51.29 Psalms. Psalms, right in the 00:08:51.33\00:08:52.66 middle of your Bible Psalms and we're going to 00:08:52.69\00:08:55.53 go to chapter 14, Psalm 14 and beginning in 00:08:55.56\00:08:59.53 verse 1, Psalm 14 beginning in verse 1, 00:08:59.57\00:09:03.00 our message tonight is entitled Does God 00:09:03.04\00:09:05.94 Exist? Does it Matter. What we are going to 00:09:05.97\00:09:09.08 do this evening is divide our message into 00:09:09.11\00:09:10.68 two parts, you notice that the messages put in 00:09:10.71\00:09:13.38 the form of an interrogative, it is not a 00:09:13.42\00:09:16.08 declarative. God exist and it matters, it is in 00:09:16.12\00:09:19.22 the form of an interrogative. Does God 00:09:19.25\00:09:20.82 exist that is the first question and the second 00:09:20.86\00:09:23.19 is the logical rejoinder. Does it matter. So we 00:09:23.22\00:09:26.66 are going to divide the message tonight into 00:09:26.70\00:09:28.23 two parts. The first half are probably about the 00:09:28.26\00:09:30.37 first 30 minutes, we will spend looking at that 00:09:30.40\00:09:32.90 question, does God exist and we're going to 00:09:32.93\00:09:35.00 look at some of the classical philosophical 00:09:35.04\00:09:37.24 and even theological proofs for God's 00:09:37.27\00:09:39.21 existence. We're gonna talk about science 00:09:39.24\00:09:41.11 tonight and so you'll need to take your 00:09:41.14\00:09:42.88 thinking caps and put them firmly on your 00:09:42.91\00:09:44.55 heads. You are not afraid to think, are you? 00:09:44.58\00:09:46.95 I said, you are not afraid to think, are you? 00:09:46.98\00:09:49.32 No. So that would be the 00:09:49.35\00:09:50.69 first half of the message, does God 00:09:50.72\00:09:52.05 exist then what we are going to do is we are 00:09:52.09\00:09:53.96 going to do ask a very practical question. If it 00:09:53.99\00:09:56.83 is in fact true that God does exist then what, 00:09:56.86\00:10:00.30 what practical application would that 00:10:00.33\00:10:02.80 have for you and I and the here or now. Does it 00:10:02.83\00:10:04.57 matter, how does it matter and why does it 00:10:04.60\00:10:07.27 matter. So, number 1 does God exist and 00:10:07.30\00:10:09.50 number 2 does it matter. You are in Psalm 14 00:10:09.54\00:10:11.84 beginning in verse 1 and we find this very 00:10:11.87\00:10:14.18 interesting passage of scripture, Psalm 14 00:10:14.21\00:10:16.48 beginning in verse 1, it says "The fool hath said 00:10:16.51\00:10:20.18 in his heart," what does the fool say in his 00:10:20.22\00:10:22.25 heart? "There is no God." Friends that's the classic 00:10:22.28\00:10:26.96 synopsis of Atheism that's the two words A, 00:10:26.99\00:10:30.63 which is the negative and theos, which is 00:10:30.66\00:10:32.79 God. So when you are talking about an atheist 00:10:32.83\00:10:35.53 you are talking about somebody, who does 00:10:35.56\00:10:37.30 not believe in the existence of God. And 00:10:37.33\00:10:40.10 notice right here at the beginning, God says 00:10:40.14\00:10:42.20 those who don't believe in me are fools. Now 00:10:42.24\00:10:46.04 God is not just simply calling names you 00:10:46.07\00:10:49.14 know, nanynany booboo kind of a thing. 00:10:49.18\00:10:51.81 God is saying that the person that claims that 00:10:51.85\00:10:54.12 there is no God has made a foolish 00:10:54.15\00:10:57.02 proposition, a foolish statement and so he 00:10:57.05\00:11:00.26 says the fool has said in his heart there is no 00:11:00.29\00:11:02.89 God. He continues, they are corrupt, they have 00:11:02.92\00:11:06.09 done abominable works, there is none 00:11:06.13\00:11:07.76 who does good. The Lord looks down from 00:11:07.80\00:11:09.63 heaven upon the children of men to see if 00:11:09.66\00:11:11.03 there are any who understand, who seek 00:11:11.07\00:11:12.53 God. They have all turned 00:11:12.57\00:11:14.17 aside, they have together become corrupt, there is 00:11:14.20\00:11:16.87 none who does good, no, not one. The picture 00:11:16.91\00:11:20.78 that I have in my mind is I read this passage of 00:11:20.81\00:11:22.71 scripture is one of God looking down to 00:11:22.74\00:11:24.95 investigate the intellectual claim of the 00:11:24.98\00:11:27.52 atheist, who says with such pride there is no 00:11:27.55\00:11:31.32 God, he positively asserts that there is no 00:11:31.35\00:11:33.42 God and so God looks down from heaven He 00:11:33.46\00:11:36.59 leans over from the celestial rounds and He 00:11:36.62\00:11:39.33 is evaluating the claim of this atheist and the 00:11:39.36\00:11:41.83 first thing he says is the man is a fool. He then 00:11:41.86\00:11:45.20 goes on to say or the woman is a fool, He 00:11:45.23\00:11:47.34 goes on to say that there, there 00:11:47.37\00:11:49.74 denunciation of me, their lack of belief in 00:11:49.77\00:11:52.61 me is not an intellectual consideration. What is 00:11:52.64\00:11:55.48 He talking about the rest of verse 1 and 2 and 3. 00:11:55.51\00:11:58.25 These are all moral considerations. There 00:11:58.28\00:12:01.48 all what word did I say moral, look at it again 00:12:01.52\00:12:03.75 notice verse 2, the Lord looks down from 00:12:03.79\00:12:05.42 heaven upon the children of men, He is 00:12:05.45\00:12:06.89 investigating the claim that there is no God 00:12:06.92\00:12:09.09 perhaps there is evidence to suggest that 00:12:09.12\00:12:11.13 God doesn't exist, so God is leaning over to 00:12:11.16\00:12:13.16 see if the evidence is good. He says to see if 00:12:13.19\00:12:15.90 there is any who does not seek or if there any 00:12:15.93\00:12:17.97 who seek God verse 3 they have all turned 00:12:18.00\00:12:20.47 aside, they have together become corrupt, there is 00:12:20.50\00:12:23.37 none who does good, no not one. So God's 00:12:23.41\00:12:27.74 evaluation of the claim that there is no God, as 00:12:27.78\00:12:30.61 being a foolish claim is simply this. He is 00:12:30.65\00:12:34.68 saying that when somebody makes that 00:12:34.72\00:12:36.58 positive affirmation that God does not exist, the 00:12:36.62\00:12:40.06 atheistic affirmation, he is saying that this is not an 00:12:40.09\00:12:43.66 intellectual consideration this is a moral 00:12:43.69\00:12:47.63 consideration. It is what word did I say? 00:12:47.66\00:12:50.10 Moral. In other words they want to live the way they 00:12:50.13\00:12:52.53 want to live and God gets in the way of their 00:12:52.57\00:12:54.50 perversities and promiscuities and so they 00:12:54.54\00:12:57.17 find it's much easier just to say well God doesn't 00:12:57.21\00:12:59.71 exist after all if He does exist we would have to 00:12:59.74\00:13:01.84 give an answer and a response to the supreme 00:13:01.88\00:13:04.45 being of the universe. Are you understanding now, 00:13:04.78\00:13:07.02 yes or no? Now what I like to do is invite you to 00:13:07.05\00:13:10.25 turn your attention to the screen. Our message is 00:13:10.29\00:13:13.02 entitled Does God Exist? Does It Matter, The Bible 00:13:13.05\00:13:16.42 does not set out to "prove" God's existence. 00:13:16.46\00:13:19.43 It simply declares His existence. In other words, 00:13:19.93\00:13:23.77 the Bible does not set out to say God exist and here 00:13:23.80\00:13:27.14 is the syllogistic proof, here is the mathematical 00:13:27.17\00:13:29.87 proof, here is the scientific proof, it simply 00:13:29.90\00:13:32.31 declares that He exists. In fact, one of the first four 00:13:32.34\00:13:35.58 words in the Cannon, one of the first four words in 00:13:35.61\00:13:38.25 the Bible, in the beginning God. 00:13:38.28\00:13:42.72 Notice not a proof of God, but a declaration of 00:13:42.85\00:13:46.35 God, Genesis 1:1. Now continue with me here 00:13:46.39\00:13:49.52 there have been classically 20 lines of 00:13:50.53\00:13:53.29 evidence that have been advanced to prove God's 00:13:53.33\00:13:58.27 existence. These are philosophical proofs and 00:13:58.30\00:14:01.40 theological proofs and scientific proofs, the 00:14:01.44\00:14:04.01 combined weight of these apologetic proofs present 00:14:04.04\00:14:06.84 a formidable and convincing case. 00:14:06.88\00:14:08.61 Now I want you to hone it on that word apologetic 00:14:08.84\00:14:10.88 there, that word apologetic. Do any of you remember 00:14:10.91\00:14:13.48 that word from last night? How many of you remember? 00:14:13.52\00:14:15.88 Remember second Peter or first Peter chapter 3 in 00:14:16.18\00:14:17.95 verse 15, Peter said, but sanctify the Lord God in 00:14:17.99\00:14:20.79 your heart and be ready how often always to give 00:14:20.82\00:14:24.13 an answer to every man that ask you the reason of 00:14:24.16\00:14:27.23 the hope that is in you and with meekness in fear. 00:14:27.26\00:14:28.93 Now what was that word there that was translated 00:14:28.96\00:14:31.70 to give an answer. Do you remember? It was Pelagia 00:14:31.73\00:14:36.07 that exactly right, the word means to give an 00:14:36.10\00:14:38.47 answer to give a reason to give a defense and so 00:14:38.51\00:14:41.64 classically when philosophers and theologians and others 00:14:41.68\00:14:47.02 have sat down to try and prove the existence of 00:14:47.05\00:14:49.58 God, they have advanced approximately 20 lines of 00:14:49.62\00:14:53.05 evidence. Now we don't have time of course to go 00:14:53.09\00:14:55.62 into all 20 of those and so what we're going to do is 00:14:55.66\00:14:57.86 we're going to take a look at eight of them. The first 00:14:57.89\00:15:00.40 is the case from the beginning of life, the case 00:15:00.43\00:15:03.70 from the beginning of life this is what is referred to 00:15:03.73\00:15:06.53 by biologists as Biogenesis, Biogenesis. 00:15:06.57\00:15:11.17 Now this is very easy to understand, it is simply 00:15:11.21\00:15:14.01 two words put together inducts the position. 00:15:14.04\00:15:16.95 The first word is bios bio, the word means life. 00:15:17.18\00:15:21.85 What does the word mean everybody, life, so you 00:15:21.88\00:15:24.22 have the study of biology that's the study of living 00:15:24.25\00:15:26.76 things. Now what does the word Genesis mean, 00:15:26.79\00:15:28.92 means the beginning, so if you put these two words 00:15:29.69\00:15:31.73 together life and beginning the word Biogenesis simply 00:15:31.76\00:15:34.66 means the beginning of what everyone life. 00:15:34.70\00:15:38.63 Now I have a son, he is two-and-half years old. 00:15:38.67\00:15:40.24 His name is Landon and he is becoming increasingly 00:15:40.27\00:15:42.34 curious and aware of the world around him and he 00:15:42.37\00:15:45.31 will occasionally ask interesting questions of 00:15:45.34\00:15:47.58 me and I'm just waiting for the day when he asks 00:15:47.61\00:15:49.98 this question. Papa, where did I come from that I'll be 00:15:50.01\00:15:54.42 very easy to answer, I'll say well you came from 00:15:54.45\00:15:56.25 mommy daddy and that will probably satisfy him 00:15:56.28\00:15:58.35 for all of about six months. And then their mind going to 00:15:58.39\00:16:01.09 continue to work and the synapses of firing, 00:16:01.12\00:16:03.32 the neurons are connecting and little while later he is 00:16:03.36\00:16:05.43 gonna say papa where did you and mommy come from. 00:16:05.46\00:16:08.50 Oh! That's an easy one to answer. We came from our 00:16:08.66\00:16:10.87 mommy and daddy and that might satisfy him for all of 00:16:10.90\00:16:12.97 about six minutes. Oh! Where did they come from, 00:16:13.00\00:16:15.50 where do they come from, where do they come from 00:16:15.54\00:16:17.21 and sooner or later my son is going to have a very big 00:16:17.57\00:16:20.64 question, where did Adam and Eve come from. 00:16:20.68\00:16:23.35 Now you might think that this is just a childish kind 00:16:24.55\00:16:27.32 of question that this is so easy, but friends listen this 00:16:27.35\00:16:30.72 whole idea of biogenesis the beginning of life puts 00:16:30.75\00:16:34.26 our finger on the poles of one of the profoundest, 00:16:34.29\00:16:37.69 most powerful proofs that God exists and the law of 00:16:37.73\00:16:42.50 biogenesis basically says this, life only comes from 00:16:42.53\00:16:47.77 life say that with me. Life only comes from life. 00:16:47.80\00:16:53.48 Now there was a day back in the dark ages in centuries 00:16:53.51\00:16:57.58 past, where they believe that if you had a pile of 00:16:57.61\00:16:59.88 garbage in the corner that if you left that pile of garbage 00:16:59.91\00:17:02.92 there long enough it would spontaneously produce rats 00:17:02.95\00:17:06.25 and mice and maggots and insects, but a men by the 00:17:06.29\00:17:09.56 name of Louis Pasteur, is that name 00:17:09.59\00:17:11.79 mean anything to you. Yes. Have you ever looked on 00:17:11.83\00:17:13.86 the side of you juice container and it says what 00:17:13.90\00:17:16.23 pasteurized. Louis Pasteur took sterile garbage if there 00:17:16.83\00:17:21.30 is such a thing he sterilized it, put it in the corner, 00:17:21.34\00:17:24.11 he made sure it had no existent life in it, no eggs, 00:17:24.14\00:17:27.41 no life could get in and they waited and they waited and 00:17:27.44\00:17:31.51 they waited and did life ever come out of it. 00:17:31.55\00:17:33.55 No, why because life only comes from what everyone? 00:17:34.08\00:17:38.95 Life. Life. Now go with me in your Bibles to Luke 00:17:38.99\00:17:41.26 chapter 3, in Luke chapter 3, this is what is referred to 00:17:41.29\00:17:46.23 as a Genealogy and you know the Genealogy so and 00:17:46.26\00:17:50.00 so began and so and so began so and so began so and so 00:17:50.03\00:17:52.90 so let's pick this up in Luke chapter 3 how about verse 00:17:53.03\00:17:56.17 34, we will begin there. Luke chapter 3 and verse 34, 00:17:56.20\00:17:58.94 it says the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of 00:17:59.51\00:18:02.11 Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor, the son of 00:18:02.14\00:18:04.61 Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, 00:18:04.65\00:18:07.18 the son of Shelah, the son of Cainan, the son of 00:18:07.22\00:18:09.35 Arphaxad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of 00:18:09.38\00:18:11.72 Lamech, I'm in verse 37, the son of Methuselah, the 00:18:11.75\00:18:14.82 son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of 00:18:14.86\00:18:16.29 Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan, the son of Enos, 00:18:16.32\00:18:18.86 the son of Seth, the son of Adam, notice this now the 00:18:19.23\00:18:24.07 son of God. Now friends this is very powerful, 00:18:24.10\00:18:30.24 very sublime because the Bible here entrancing this 00:18:30.71\00:18:33.81 Genealogy is actually giving a very potent and 00:18:33.84\00:18:37.45 compiling scientific proof for the explanation of life 00:18:37.48\00:18:41.98 on this planet. You see friends, if God doesn't exist 00:18:42.02\00:18:46.12 and there is no supernatural entity like the atheist 00:18:46.15\00:18:49.02 suggests, the fool suggest, then they have to surmount 00:18:49.06\00:18:52.56 this insuperable, this insurmountable obstacle 00:18:52.59\00:18:56.06 that says this life came from non-life. Yet friends 00:18:56.10\00:19:02.00 can life come from non-life, no it's a physical 00:19:02.04\00:19:05.27 impossibility in every single biological experiment, every 00:19:05.31\00:19:09.28 single scientific experiment since the dawn of science 00:19:09.31\00:19:12.41 has proved that it is an impossibility for life to 00:19:12.45\00:19:15.62 spontaneously generate from non-life and so we go 00:19:15.65\00:19:18.75 backward, where did you come from, from mommy and daddy 00:19:18.79\00:19:20.46 from mommy and daddy, from mommy and daddy and 00:19:20.49\00:19:22.22 the Bible gives us a powerful compiling answer to this 00:19:22.26\00:19:25.53 question of biogenesis, the beginnings of life. 00:19:25.56\00:19:28.10 The son of Adam, the son of what everyone? God. 00:19:28.30\00:19:33.00 God, so number 1 tonight are you living, are there are 00:19:33.03\00:19:38.11 others that are living Amen. So just in the, in the 00:19:38.14\00:19:42.08 existence of life we find a compiling proof for the 00:19:42.11\00:19:44.61 existence of God. Notice number 2, the case from the 00:19:44.65\00:19:47.05 existence of things including time itself and 00:19:47.08\00:19:50.79 this is referred to as the cosmological proof. 00:19:50.82\00:19:52.95 Now don't be afraid of those many syllabus, 00:19:52.99\00:19:54.62 it simply the cosmos or the universe, the existence of 00:19:54.66\00:19:57.83 the universe and notice this can be stated classically in 00:19:57.86\00:20:00.56 three short phrases. Number 1, everything that 00:20:00.60\00:20:04.50 begins to exist has a, what, cause, cause. 00:20:04.53\00:20:08.17 Now think about something in this room that exists, 00:20:08.20\00:20:10.21 what something that exist. Do you exist young man, 00:20:10.64\00:20:12.87 okay, did you have a cause, okay. He demonstrates 00:20:13.38\00:20:16.34 that's true, how about that light stand over there, does 00:20:16.38\00:20:19.25 that light stand exist? Was there ever a time that it 00:20:19.28\00:20:22.22 didn't exist okay, so something cause to exist 00:20:22.25\00:20:25.82 are you understanding, yes or no. Now how about 00:20:25.85\00:20:27.46 this podium, does it exist, sure it exists, was there 00:20:27.49\00:20:30.86 ever a time that it didn't exist. Now think about that 00:20:30.89\00:20:33.86 for just a moment, in order for it to come into existence 00:20:33.90\00:20:36.46 a podium maker had to fashion it and format and 00:20:36.70\00:20:41.00 created it, are you understanding, yes or no. 00:20:41.04\00:20:43.24 Everything that you can think of that exists at one 00:20:43.97\00:20:46.78 time didn't and it came into existence with one 00:20:46.81\00:20:50.75 exception. We will talk about that in just a moment. 00:20:50.78\00:20:52.45 Now number 1 everything that begins to exist has a 00:20:52.48\00:20:54.78 cause. Number 2, the universe itself began to exist. 00:20:54.82\00:20:59.02 Was there a time that the universe itself didn't exist. 00:20:59.99\00:21:03.12 The answer is yes, God created the universe, 00:21:03.63\00:21:07.76 who created the universe? God. God created the universe, 00:21:08.30\00:21:11.03 we just saw that in Genesis 1:1. In the beginning, what 00:21:11.07\00:21:14.90 everyone, God and God created the heavens and the earth. 00:21:14.94\00:21:18.51 Now notice number 3 here; therefore, the universe 00:21:19.37\00:21:21.98 has a cause and that uncaused cause of all things 00:21:22.01\00:21:27.02 is what everyone God. God. The only thing in the 00:21:27.05\00:21:30.99 universe that does not have a cause, the only thing in 00:21:31.02\00:21:34.59 the universe that has eternally existed is God. 00:21:34.62\00:21:39.06 Now friends, I wish I had time to go into very potent 00:21:39.53\00:21:42.40 scientific philosophical and even mathematical proofs, 00:21:42.43\00:21:45.70 but this is a very potent and very powerful proof that 00:21:45.73\00:21:49.77 God, got the ball rolling, God started this thing and 00:21:49.80\00:21:54.11 without the existence of God friends nothing else in 00:21:54.14\00:21:58.21 the universe could exist not even time itself. 00:21:58.25\00:22:02.82 Now let us continue, notice with me on the screen now 00:22:03.45\00:22:05.52 number 3 we're looking at our eight proofs for the 00:22:05.55\00:22:07.42 existence of God. Number 3 is the case from design in 00:22:07.46\00:22:11.96 the universe, the case from design in the universe; that 00:22:11.99\00:22:15.73 is what is referred to as the teleological proof, it comes 00:22:15.76\00:22:18.23 from the Greek Telos, which is design, 00:22:18.27\00:22:21.27 which is what everyone? Design. Design, now as you look 00:22:21.57\00:22:24.04 around you, as you look at your hands and as you look 00:22:24.07\00:22:27.38 at the world around you and the perfect sinquinicity and 00:22:27.41\00:22:30.95 harmony with which it operates do you see design 00:22:30.98\00:22:34.05 in the world around you? Yes or no. 00:22:34.08\00:22:35.68 Let me give you a very good example of design in 00:22:36.18\00:22:37.85 the universe take your hands and hold them up 00:22:37.89\00:22:39.49 just like this, try and experiment you see this 00:22:39.52\00:22:43.22 thing right here what do we call this? 00:22:43.26\00:22:44.59 Thumb. We called that a thumb, try this experiment at home 00:22:44.63\00:22:48.10 take that thumb and put it to your palm and tape it 00:22:48.13\00:22:51.73 there, alright now tape it there and do it to the other 00:22:51.77\00:22:55.34 hand too, you can have that somebody help you because 00:22:55.37\00:22:56.87 you won't even be able to tape the other thumb. 00:22:56.91\00:22:58.37 Now what you have is you have eight fingers, but no 00:22:58.41\00:23:00.78 opposable thumb. Now do you think that you'll be able 00:23:00.81\00:23:03.55 to do much, no just try doing anything right there, 00:23:03.58\00:23:06.45 you know, I can't even pick up this clicker very easily 00:23:06.48\00:23:09.28 and if I wanted to click it up, I've to push it like this 00:23:09.32\00:23:11.42 you understand. Now look at this for just a moment, 00:23:11.45\00:23:13.99 the functionality of the hand increases exponentially when 00:23:14.02\00:23:18.99 you add an opposable thumb you understand that right. 00:23:19.03\00:23:22.46 So these fingers point this way, the thumb points 00:23:22.53\00:23:24.43 that way and now I can grab, I can open, I can 00:23:24.47\00:23:27.04 twist, I can pick up, in other words do you see design 00:23:27.07\00:23:30.71 when you look at the hand yes or no? Yes. 00:23:30.74\00:23:32.74 Absolutely, tremendous design how about the eye. 00:23:32.81\00:23:36.21 Does the eye exhibit the qualities of design, even 00:23:36.78\00:23:40.95 Darwin himself the grandfather of the 00:23:40.98\00:23:43.69 evolutionary theory, who wrote the book origin of 00:23:43.72\00:23:45.92 species in 1859. I have quotations on my files, 00:23:45.95\00:23:49.49 where he says the contemplation of the eye 00:23:49.59\00:23:52.09 would have evolved through micro-mutations 00:23:52.49\00:23:55.26 gradual changes he said made him sick to his stomach. 00:23:55.30\00:23:59.50 Friends the eye is such a beautiful construction, 00:23:59.53\00:24:03.91 think about these video cameras that are taping us 00:24:03.94\00:24:05.91 even now, think about, think about the sound 00:24:05.94\00:24:08.34 boards and all of these technological gadgets none 00:24:08.38\00:24:11.51 of them can do even one 1000th of what the eye can do 00:24:11.55\00:24:15.22 and yet it is contained in such a small package, it can 00:24:15.25\00:24:17.95 focus immediately on something close and then 00:24:17.99\00:24:19.72 quickly on something on the distant arisen. 00:24:19.75\00:24:21.52 It can go to something, it can step into a room that is 00:24:21.92\00:24:23.96 very dark and immediately the pupil expands to let it 00:24:23.99\00:24:26.19 more light and then if you walk out into the sunny 00:24:26.23\00:24:28.56 the sunny day and the snow is on the grounds or that 00:24:29.53\00:24:31.87 there is great radiant light what does the pupil do, 00:24:31.90\00:24:33.97 shrinks right down in just a moment. Friends, the eye 00:24:34.64\00:24:37.07 can do what even the most advanced television 00:24:37.11\00:24:39.67 cameras and photographic cameras can't even begin to 00:24:39.71\00:24:42.38 do and yet it is all contained in a package of about the 00:24:42.41\00:24:45.31 size of a marble, does that exhibit the 00:24:45.35\00:24:47.85 qualities of design, yes or no.? Yes. 00:24:47.88\00:24:50.35 If you and I were walking through the woods and we 00:24:50.45\00:24:51.95 stumbled upon the stone, we might just pick up that 00:24:51.99\00:24:54.49 ordinary stone and say you know this is the stone it's a 00:24:54.52\00:24:57.66 nice looking stone it has some nice curvatures 00:24:57.69\00:24:59.86 maybe it would be good for skipping, but a stone in an 00:25:00.06\00:25:03.10 of itself would not exhibit the qualities of design. 00:25:03.13\00:25:05.73 You wouldn't look at a stone and say there is stone 00:25:05.77\00:25:07.47 maker necessarily, but if you and I were walking 00:25:07.50\00:25:10.27 through the woods and let's say we found that clicker 00:25:10.31\00:25:12.57 you and I were walking through and as we came 00:25:12.87\00:25:14.84 along, Oh! Look a clicker, so we pick up the clicker 00:25:14.88\00:25:19.48 and we say isn't that remarkable must have 00:25:19.51\00:25:21.68 dropped that of a tree maybe there is a clicker tree 00:25:21.72\00:25:23.59 here right. Friends does this clicker exhibit the qualities 00:25:23.62\00:25:27.96 of design? Well it sure does, as a matter of fact it 00:25:27.99\00:25:31.13 has a nice little, I suppose this is clip, so I could put it 00:25:31.16\00:25:34.66 on my belt if I would like, there is a button here and 00:25:34.70\00:25:36.83 even a little red light to let me know that the clicker is 00:25:36.87\00:25:39.00 working. It's also conveniently sized right 00:25:39.03\00:25:41.97 into my hand and so this clicker exhibits the 00:25:42.00\00:25:45.01 qualities of what everyone? Design. So what do you 00:25:45.04\00:25:47.88 automatically assume about the clicker. 00:25:47.91\00:25:49.61 That it has a designer and friends look at the world 00:25:50.98\00:25:54.22 around you, look at your opposable thumb, 00:25:54.25\00:25:56.35 the incredible intricacies of the eye and even beyond 00:25:56.38\00:25:59.25 that the biosphere the entire ecosystem huge numbers of 00:25:59.29\00:26:03.96 galaxies billions upon multiplied billions of 00:26:03.99\00:26:06.39 galaxies swirling through the universe at break-neck 00:26:06.43\00:26:09.33 paces and all of this together friends indicates 00:26:09.36\00:26:12.63 clearly God had a hand in this. There is a designer and 00:26:12.67\00:26:18.37 where you see design you automatically assume there 00:26:18.41\00:26:21.28 is designer, who was behind it. Amen. Amen. 00:26:21.31\00:26:25.08 The atheist is at a total loss to explain design in the 00:26:25.28\00:26:29.68 universe and this is what is referred to as the 00:26:29.72\00:26:31.82 teleological argument. Now notice with me number 4, 00:26:31.85\00:26:35.09 the case from a life- allowing universe, 00:26:35.72\00:26:38.89 this is called the Anthropic principle, 00:26:38.93\00:26:41.66 the Anthropic principle. Now how many of you 00:26:41.70\00:26:44.60 know what the word Anthropos means, 00:26:44.63\00:26:47.00 Anthropos, man, okay means man that's right. 00:26:47.04\00:26:49.67 The study of anthropology is the study of man. 00:26:49.70\00:26:53.81 For example in Mark chapter 2 and verses 27 and 28 00:26:53.84\00:26:56.11 Jesus said the Sabbath was made for men and the word 00:26:56.14\00:27:01.52 is Anthropos, mankind. Now when we talked about 00:27:01.55\00:27:05.89 the Anthropic Principle please follow me very 00:27:05.92\00:27:08.39 carefully here in fact let's go right to the screen, 00:27:08.42\00:27:10.33 modern cosmology has identified not less than 40 00:27:10.93\00:27:15.63 measurable characteristics of the universe. Notice this as 00:27:15.66\00:27:19.83 we continue, each of these characteristics are 00:27:19.87\00:27:22.67 fine-tuned to such a degree that moving even one of 00:27:22.70\00:27:26.47 them in either direction only a fraction of a fraction 00:27:26.51\00:27:31.01 of a fraction of a percentage would make the existence 00:27:31.05\00:27:35.08 of life and notice this here anywhere in the universe 00:27:35.12\00:27:39.05 impossible. Now let me just give you a few of them here 00:27:39.09\00:27:42.62 I've, I've written some of these down and I want you 00:27:42.66\00:27:44.59 to hear some of these, these are just a few of these 40 00:27:44.63\00:27:47.93 plus measurable characteristics and keep in 00:27:47.96\00:27:50.63 mind that if even one of these was off by a fraction, 00:27:50.67\00:27:53.64 of a fraction, of a fraction, of a percentage it's not just 00:27:53.67\00:27:55.94 that life would be impossible here on planet 00:27:55.97\00:27:57.67 earth, but the life would be impossible in the universe, 00:27:57.71\00:28:00.41 we would live not in a life sustaining universe but in a 00:28:00.44\00:28:03.35 life prohibitive universe. Do you understand that, 00:28:03.38\00:28:05.85 yes or no. Yes. Now I'm gonna come back 00:28:05.88\00:28:07.32 to this just in a minute, but listen just to a few of these. 00:28:07.35\00:28:09.38 Number 1, a strong nuclear force constant. Number 2, a 00:28:09.92\00:28:12.32 weak nuclear force constant. Number 3, 00:28:12.35\00:28:14.06 gravitational force constant. Number 4, electromagnetic 00:28:14.09\00:28:16.96 force constant. Number 5, the ratio of electromagnetic 00:28:16.99\00:28:19.39 force constant to gravitational force constant. 00:28:19.43\00:28:21.30 Number 6, the ratio of proton mass to electron mass. 00:28:21.33\00:28:23.87 Number 7, the ratio of protons to the 00:28:23.90\00:28:25.27 number of electrons. Number 8, the mass density 00:28:25.30\00:28:26.94 of the universe. Number 9, the size of the relativistic 00:28:26.97\00:28:29.34 dilation factor. Number 10, the ratio of neutron mass to 00:28:29.37\00:28:31.91 proton mass, you're getting the feel for this? 00:28:31.94\00:28:33.38 You want the other 47? No You are right on time. 00:28:35.74\00:28:39.01 Oh! Yeah, sure the size of the relativistic dilation 00:28:39.45\00:28:41.52 factor, I'm with you pastor Asscherick. 00:28:41.55\00:28:43.02 Friends, the point here is just this, when 00:28:44.25\00:28:45.85 astrophysicist and cosmologist begin to 00:28:45.89\00:28:49.02 measure the measurable identifiable characteristics 00:28:49.06\00:28:51.96 of the universe they are noticing something very 00:28:51.99\00:28:54.26 interesting. They are saying wow this entire universe 00:28:54.30\00:28:57.83 not just Planet Earth beloved, the whole universe 00:28:57.87\00:29:00.34 is fine tuned to such a degree that if you took even 00:29:00.74\00:29:03.81 one of those measurable characteristics and it 00:29:03.84\00:29:06.57 scooted it just a bit this way or it just a bit this way, 00:29:06.61\00:29:10.11 life would be impossible in the entire universe. 00:29:10.38\00:29:13.08 Now notice this not from the biblical point of view, 00:29:14.15\00:29:16.75 not from a Christian point of view, but strictly from a 00:29:17.49\00:29:20.29 cosmological point of view what cosmologists are 00:29:20.32\00:29:23.69 saying is this, the conclusion of modern 00:29:23.73\00:29:26.36 cosmology is that the universe appears to have 00:29:26.39\00:29:29.86 had man in mind! Now say that with me, man in mind. 00:29:29.90\00:29:36.64 In other words, it looks like the whole universe was set up 00:29:36.67\00:29:40.18 on the Anthropic Principle. The man kind principle, 00:29:40.21\00:29:45.88 the whole thing was put together in the same way 00:29:45.91\00:29:48.62 that my wife and I put our bedroom together for our 00:29:48.65\00:29:51.25 new little boy. We had gone to the hospital, he'd been born, 00:29:51.29\00:29:54.52 we had the room prepared, we had the crib there, 00:29:54.56\00:29:57.09 everything was in place and if you walked into that room 00:29:57.13\00:29:59.69 and you saw the pretty decorations and you saw 00:29:59.73\00:30:01.73 the crib and you saw all of the accoutrements that went 00:30:01.76\00:30:04.13 with the room you would conclude this room has 00:30:04.17\00:30:06.90 been designed for a baby. Are you understanding, 00:30:06.94\00:30:10.97 yes or no? By the same token, cosmologists and 00:30:11.01\00:30:13.84 astrophysicists they look at the universe and they say 00:30:13.88\00:30:16.31 wow the more we measure and the more fine-tuned that 00:30:16.34\00:30:19.61 we find these characteristics are we come to the conclusion 00:30:19.65\00:30:22.82 that the universe was designed for God's babies 00:30:22.85\00:30:26.59 namely you and I. Now go with me in you Bible to 00:30:26.62\00:30:29.86 Isaiah chapter 45, I appreciate the signs of 00:30:29.89\00:30:33.26 cosmology and astrophysics, but we could have save 00:30:33.29\00:30:35.93 them a whole lot of time if they would have simply 00:30:35.96\00:30:38.53 gone to Isaiah chapter 45, Isaiah chapter 45, by the 00:30:38.57\00:30:43.54 way just as a little point as an anecdotal point many of 00:30:43.57\00:30:47.34 the worlds foremost cosmologists and 00:30:47.38\00:30:49.94 astrophysicists are Bible believing Christians. 00:30:49.98\00:30:52.21 Did you know that? Many of the world's foremost 00:30:52.25\00:30:55.45 cosmologists and astrophysicists are Bible 00:30:55.48\00:30:57.59 believing Christians because friends they can 00:30:57.62\00:30:59.79 look out at the cosmos of the universe and they can 00:30:59.82\00:31:02.22 say somebody is out there. Albert Einstein's favorite 00:31:02.26\00:31:05.86 quotation was God doesn't play dice with the universe. 00:31:05.89\00:31:10.17 In other words it's not just chance, not everything just 00:31:10.57\00:31:13.47 randomly put together somebody is behind all of this. 00:31:13.50\00:31:17.54 Notice Isaiah chapter 45 and verse 18, I love this 00:31:17.74\00:31:20.38 verse of scripture, it says for thus saith the Lord who 00:31:20.41\00:31:24.35 created what everyone? Heavens. He created the 00:31:24.38\00:31:27.38 heavens who is God, who formed the 00:31:27.85\00:31:30.75 what's the next word. Earth. The earth and 00:31:30.79\00:31:32.65 made it, who established it and notice this last, these 00:31:32.69\00:31:35.52 last two lines here, it says who did not create it in 00:31:35.56\00:31:38.83 vain, he didn't create it what everybody? 00:31:38.86\00:31:41.90 In vain. In vain, the next line tells us why he did 00:31:41.93\00:31:44.60 created it, create it, says who formed it to be 00:31:44.63\00:31:49.17 Inhabited. Inhabited. Why did God created the 00:31:49.20\00:31:51.61 heavens and the earth everyone? 00:31:51.64\00:31:52.97 To be inhabited. To be inhabited in other 00:31:53.01\00:31:54.74 words he put it together with man in mind and that 00:31:54.78\00:31:59.31 is exactly what modern cosmology and exactly 00:31:59.35\00:32:02.15 what modern astrophysicist telling us, the whole 00:32:02.18\00:32:04.19 universe appears to have had man in mind. 00:32:04.22\00:32:08.66 Can you say Amen. Amen. Incredible brothers 00:32:09.49\00:32:11.19 and sisters. Now let us continue we've just gone 00:32:11.23\00:32:12.83 through four. Number 5 is the case from universal 00:32:12.86\00:32:17.27 morality; the axiological proof. It comes from the 00:32:17.30\00:32:21.10 word axiom is what is true. Now let's talk about that for 00:32:21.14\00:32:25.01 just a moment universal morality, what is morality? 00:32:25.04\00:32:29.74 Oh! Common, what's morality is that the way that 00:32:32.28\00:32:35.65 we should live, yes or no? Yes. Now if I say that 00:32:35.68\00:32:40.66 individual is an immoral individual you would 00:32:40.69\00:32:44.39 understanding that to mean that he or she is living 00:32:44.43\00:32:46.96 outside of the way that we believe they should live 00:32:47.20\00:32:50.17 does that make sense, yes or no? Yes. 00:32:50.20\00:32:51.83 You have, you've heard no doubt for example of the 00:32:51.87\00:32:54.70 moral majority, you've heard that phraseology 00:32:54.74\00:32:57.51 haven't you? So, when we're talking about 00:32:57.54\00:32:59.11 morality we're talking about a prescription, the 00:32:59.14\00:33:02.04 way that people should live. Now does the Bible have 00:33:02.08\00:33:05.91 anything to say about morality, yes or no? Yes 00:33:05.95\00:33:08.98 God has given us 10 great rules and yes I use that 00:33:09.42\00:33:13.89 word. We don't like rules in this day and age, but they 00:33:13.92\00:33:16.22 are rules friends that are for our own best good. 00:33:16.26\00:33:18.63 What are those ten rules? The 10 commandments not 00:33:18.66\00:33:21.93 10 suggestions, not 10 you know pieces of advising 00:33:21.96\00:33:25.27 council, but 10 what everyone commandments. 00:33:25.30\00:33:28.40 Now these commandments form the core of morality. 00:33:28.87\00:33:33.44 For example, is murdering wrong, yes or no? Yes. 00:33:33.48\00:33:39.25 Sure because the seventh commandment says thou 00:33:39.28\00:33:41.98 shall not what, oh! that's the sixth commandment, 00:33:42.02\00:33:44.55 thou shall not murder is the sixth, the seventh 00:33:44.59\00:33:47.92 commandment says thou shall not commit adultery. 00:33:47.96\00:33:50.73 So if somebody murders, we say that's an immoral 00:33:51.23\00:33:53.80 act, if somebody commits adultery we say that's an 00:33:53.83\00:33:56.73 immoral act, are you with me, yes or no? Yes. 00:33:56.77\00:33:59.60 Now here's the point across the world there are these 00:33:59.63\00:34:04.77 threads I want to emphasize this and please be thinking 00:34:04.81\00:34:07.58 with me. The world over there are these threads of 00:34:07.61\00:34:11.25 morality that go through listen carefully now every 00:34:11.28\00:34:15.15 single culture. What words that I say? 00:34:15.18\00:34:19.02 Every single culture. Every single culture, now 00:34:19.05\00:34:20.92 you've probably heard the exact opposite. In the day 00:34:20.96\00:34:23.89 and age in which we are living, this relativistic age 00:34:23.93\00:34:26.90 and this pluralistic age we're being told, well you 00:34:26.93\00:34:29.56 know every culture is different and what's okay in 00:34:29.60\00:34:32.33 your culture might not be okay in this person's culture 00:34:32.37\00:34:34.90 and we have these absolutely ridiculous 00:34:34.94\00:34:37.07 statements, where we say things like well that's true 00:34:37.11\00:34:39.31 for you, but it's not true for me. 00:34:39.34\00:34:41.21 Do you've heard anybody say that? 00:34:42.28\00:34:43.61 Friends listen that's in affront to the English 00:34:43.65\00:34:45.75 language something is not true for you and not true for 00:34:45.78\00:34:49.25 me it's either true or it's not true, Amen. Amen. 00:34:49.28\00:34:53.02 Jesus said I'm the way, the truth in the light. 00:34:53.05\00:34:56.39 He was making an absolute exclusive 00:34:56.42\00:34:59.83 kind of a statement. Amen. Amen. 00:34:59.86\00:35:02.70 So, we don't say, well Buddha is true for you friend and 00:35:02.73\00:35:05.53 Jesus is true for me not that might be the political 00:35:05.57\00:35:08.04 correct thing to say, buy it's not an accurate thing to say 00:35:08.07\00:35:10.84 are you understanding now yes or no? 00:35:10.87\00:35:12.27 Amen. Now think about this, in every culture is there a 00:35:12.31\00:35:15.64 moral thread, a moral truth that runs through it all. 00:35:15.68\00:35:19.21 In the age in which we are living they say no, no, no 00:35:20.08\00:35:22.08 the culture in Africa, their morals are so different than 00:35:22.12\00:35:25.05 ours and Asia, Oh! Their whole cultural social 00:35:25.09\00:35:28.16 system is so different and it is true that there are 00:35:28.19\00:35:30.76 variations, there are what word did I say? 00:35:30.79\00:35:33.90 Variations. But let me give you one of 00:35:33.93\00:35:35.66 the most powerful moral threads that runs through 00:35:35.70\00:35:39.13 every single culture that exists today and that is this. 00:35:39.17\00:35:43.61 There is no culture on the top side of the earth in 00:35:43.91\00:35:46.47 which it is considered honorable and desirable and 00:35:46.51\00:35:50.75 just to treat those with cruelty that have treated 00:35:50.78\00:35:55.15 you with kindness. You follow that, is there any 00:35:55.18\00:36:00.56 culture with that is considered appropriate, 00:36:00.59\00:36:02.19 no, no, no, you can go to Asia, Africa any of the 00:36:02.72\00:36:04.53 seven continents, you won't find any culture that says 00:36:04.56\00:36:07.60 that it's honorable to treat with cruelty and with 00:36:07.63\00:36:11.03 despite the very ones who have treated you 00:36:11.07\00:36:12.97 graciously Amen. Amen. Now think about that, that 00:36:13.00\00:36:16.54 is a moral thread that run's through every single 00:36:16.57\00:36:19.47 culture, where did they get it from? 00:36:19.51\00:36:20.88 Ten Commandments. They got it from the 00:36:20.91\00:36:22.78 Ten Commandments that's exactly right. Now let me 00:36:22.81\00:36:24.78 just give you something here very interesting to 00:36:24.81\00:36:26.31 think about. Does anybody in this room speak more 00:36:26.35\00:36:30.85 than one language, is there anybody in this room speak 00:36:30.89\00:36:34.12 less than one language. Anybody in this room 00:36:34.16\00:36:38.26 speak two languages or more? Okay, good three? Three 00:36:38.29\00:36:43.23 that little boy speaks three languages incredible. 00:36:43.26\00:36:46.40 Well, I heard this cute little anecdote I think you'll 00:36:47.04\00:36:49.34 appreciate it and it goes like this if you speak three 00:36:49.37\00:36:51.51 languages you're trilingual, if you speak two languages 00:36:51.54\00:36:55.14 you're bilingual and if you speak just one language 00:36:55.18\00:36:57.91 you're an American, Amen. Amen. 00:36:57.95\00:37:02.62 Now think about it this for just a minute all of the 00:37:02.82\00:37:05.39 languages the world over, all of the languages so 00:37:05.42\00:37:08.62 you're thinking about our own the English language 00:37:08.66\00:37:11.79 and then you have Spanish language, one of the Latin 00:37:11.83\00:37:13.66 languages and then we go to Europe and we have 00:37:13.70\00:37:15.26 Slovak languages the Germanic languages also 00:37:15.30\00:37:18.07 the Latin languages then we go up into like Asia and 00:37:18.10\00:37:21.14 China and those languages and then we go down to the 00:37:21.17\00:37:23.47 Sanskrit languages of India and the world over the 00:37:23.51\00:37:25.91 tribal languages of Africa then we go up into 00:37:25.94\00:37:28.34 Indonesia and Philippines and Japan all of these 00:37:28.68\00:37:31.41 different languages can you think of even one thread 00:37:31.45\00:37:34.32 that would run though all of those languages, some 00:37:34.35\00:37:37.29 threads, some commonality that every single language 00:37:37.32\00:37:40.89 group shares. The answer is no. Absolutely, not. Do you 00:37:40.92\00:37:47.23 say what's the significance of that, I don't understand 00:37:47.26\00:37:49.30 precisely this and please listen carefully. Language 00:37:49.73\00:37:54.04 is arbitrary, language is what word did I say? 00:37:54.07\00:37:57.74 Arbitrary. For example, we call this a 00:37:57.77\00:38:00.78 podium what do we call it. Podium. 00:38:00.81\00:38:03.41 A podium, but could we call, could 00:38:03.45\00:38:05.05 we have called this carpet? No. Could we've called this 00:38:05.08\00:38:08.18 carpet? Sure we could we. I could have said, I'm so glad 00:38:08.22\00:38:11.19 that the carpet is clear tonight, I like clear carpets, 00:38:11.22\00:38:13.92 right and you would understand if that's where 00:38:13.96\00:38:15.76 we assigned this where, we call this as speaker, 00:38:15.79\00:38:17.79 but we could've just as easily called it a bird. 00:38:17.83\00:38:19.83 Is that true yes or no? Yes. So, friends listen language 00:38:21.30\00:38:24.63 is arbitrary. We assign language meaning are you 00:38:24.67\00:38:28.70 understanding. That's why this culture calls this, 00:38:28.74\00:38:31.27 this and this culture calls this, this and this language 00:38:31.31\00:38:33.31 group calls this, this and there is no rhyme or reason 00:38:33.34\00:38:36.01 much between the different language groups. 00:38:36.04\00:38:38.11 Yet remarkably even though there is no thread in 00:38:38.15\00:38:40.88 the great languages of the world there is still that 00:38:40.92\00:38:43.35 moral thread every single culture what does it tells us? 00:38:43.39\00:38:46.65 It tells us that language is arbitrary, but morality is 00:38:46.69\00:38:50.46 anchored in the character of God. Amen. 00:38:50.49\00:38:54.03 Now friends, I stand by that. Morality is anchored 00:38:55.40\00:38:59.43 in the character of God. God is the one who says 00:38:59.47\00:39:05.01 what is right and wrong, what is fair, what is just, 00:39:05.04\00:39:08.18 what is noble, what is good, and what is magnanimous. 00:39:08.21\00:39:10.95 How many of you have understood this contrast 00:39:11.15\00:39:13.38 between no consistency, no commonality in the 00:39:13.72\00:39:16.85 languages and yet this one thread that runs through 00:39:16.89\00:39:19.35 every culture? How many of you have understood the 00:39:19.39\00:39:21.02 significance of that raise your hand? Then you've got 00:39:21.06\00:39:23.46 your fingers wrapped around this thing called the 00:39:23.49\00:39:25.89 Axiological argument. God is a moral being and he 00:39:25.93\00:39:29.43 calls upon us to respond to his moral law. 00:39:29.46\00:39:32.83 Now number 6 here is the case from the historical 00:39:33.44\00:39:36.00 proof of Jesus' resurrection. We are going to devote an 00:39:36.04\00:39:39.57 entire evening to that and entire message to the 00:39:39.61\00:39:43.01 historical proof for the resurrection of Jesus Christ 00:39:43.04\00:39:45.78 in just a few nights. So we are going to move over that 00:39:45.81\00:39:47.82 one. Number 7, is the case from the inspiration and 00:39:47.85\00:39:53.49 consistency of the Bible. How many of you hear this 00:39:53.52\00:39:55.72 evening believe that the Bible is the 00:39:55.76\00:39:57.33 inspired word of God. Amen. I believe that as well. 00:39:57.36\00:40:00.30 Let me tell you something remarkable though. 00:40:00.33\00:40:01.76 The Bible would be the inspired word of God 00:40:02.46\00:40:04.80 whether or not you believed it. Amen. 00:40:04.83\00:40:07.00 Amen, now what that means then is that the Bible 00:40:07.57\00:40:10.74 is objectively true. It's not just true because you 00:40:10.77\00:40:14.18 believe it's true, it actually is true and we are going to 00:40:14.21\00:40:18.35 devote an entire evening to going into the proofs to the 00:40:18.38\00:40:21.82 evidences to the historical authentication of the word 00:40:21.85\00:40:26.09 of God. Most people simply accept the Bible as being 00:40:26.12\00:40:29.42 the word of God. We are going to show you in an 00:40:29.46\00:40:31.39 entire evening, why you can have historical, 00:40:31.43\00:40:34.80 scientific, archeological, and every other kind of 00:40:34.83\00:40:38.10 confidence that this is in fact the inspired inherent 00:40:38.13\00:40:41.34 word of God, Amen. Amen. Alright, so notice this one, 00:40:41.60\00:40:45.57 our last one number 8, the case from your personal 00:40:45.61\00:40:50.38 experience and I want to undergird that, your personal 00:40:50.41\00:40:53.75 experience that is the experiential proof. 00:40:53.78\00:40:56.12 Friends listen to me very carefully, if you have an 00:40:56.99\00:40:59.62 experience with something, it is very difficult to 00:40:59.65\00:41:03.06 convince you that thing doesn't exist. 00:41:03.09\00:41:05.53 For example, how many people in this room have 00:41:06.13\00:41:07.70 ever been the Madagascar, ever been to Madagascar, 00:41:07.73\00:41:10.87 the island of Madagascar of the Eastern Coast of Africa 00:41:10.90\00:41:13.27 anybody that's funny every time I ask that nobody has 00:41:13.30\00:41:15.74 ever been to Madagascar buddy, interesting. 00:41:15.77\00:41:18.91 Now listen to this, how many of you believe that 00:41:19.24\00:41:21.04 Madagascar exists? Oh! Remarkably every 00:41:21.08\00:41:24.48 hand goes up well this is interesting isn't it. 00:41:24.51\00:41:26.45 Now one of us has been there yet we are all totally 00:41:26.48\00:41:28.48 convinced that it exists. Now imagine with me that you 00:41:28.52\00:41:32.15 take a trip to Madagascar and sure enough hear you 00:41:32.19\00:41:34.66 are, you're in Madagascar and you're enjoying, 00:41:34.69\00:41:36.86 I don't know if they have sandy beaches they are not, 00:41:36.89\00:41:38.43 but let's just pretend they do. So you're on the sandy 00:41:38.46\00:41:40.73 beaches of Madagascar and you get a telephone call 00:41:40.76\00:41:43.50 from your friend and he says hey how are you, oh! 00:41:43.53\00:41:45.77 I'm doing fine, I'm enjoying it here in Madagascar and 00:41:45.80\00:41:49.17 then he says or she says what, you are in 00:41:49.20\00:41:52.47 Madagascar, Madagascar doesn't exist, you would 00:41:52.51\00:41:58.35 respond by saying something like this what do 00:41:58.38\00:42:00.65 you mean Madagascar doesn't exists. I'm here right 00:42:00.68\00:42:03.69 now, I'm experiencing it, are you understanding? 00:42:03.72\00:42:08.59 Friends listen if you have a living active vital dynamic 00:42:09.42\00:42:14.30 relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and 00:42:14.33\00:42:16.16 Jacob with the God of the Bible you have proof, 00:42:16.20\00:42:21.87 you have what word did I say? Proof. Proof from your 00:42:21.90\00:42:24.37 own experience that he exists and no one could 00:42:24.41\00:42:28.54 ever take it from you. Amen. Amen. Brothers and sisters 00:42:28.58\00:42:33.95 it is important to grasp that there are many today 00:42:33.98\00:42:36.48 Christians even Christians sitting in the pews who 00:42:36.52\00:42:39.05 don't have confidence that God is their God. 00:42:39.09\00:42:42.72 They might say in some sort of ambiguous sense. 00:42:43.16\00:42:45.43 Yeah! God exists or I believe in higher power or 00:42:45.46\00:42:48.66 I'm spiritual, but they don't have a living, active, vital, 00:42:48.70\00:42:52.37 dynamic relationship with that God themselves, 00:42:52.40\00:42:55.27 but I want to tell this evening if you have a 00:42:55.30\00:42:57.34 relationship with God for yourself you have the 00:42:57.37\00:43:00.18 internal confidence, the experiential confidence that 00:43:00.21\00:43:03.88 he is not only a God, but he is your God, your father, 00:43:03.91\00:43:07.78 your savior, and your friend. Amen. And so friends, we have 00:43:07.82\00:43:12.39 presented to you 8 lines of evidence and we've given 00:43:12.42\00:43:14.92 you I believe a very compiling case that God 00:43:14.96\00:43:17.43 exists. Would we had time to go in to many of the 00:43:17.46\00:43:20.33 other evidences that prove this. Now notice with me 00:43:20.36\00:43:24.97 the second part of our message this evening is 00:43:25.47\00:43:27.44 Does It Matter? Does It Matter. Sure somebody 00:43:27.47\00:43:31.61 might say okay I can see pastor Asscherick you have 00:43:31.64\00:43:34.48 martialed some evidence here and I can see that probably 00:43:34.51\00:43:37.98 God does exist, but what's the big deal. 00:43:38.01\00:43:41.22 Friends listen to me very carefully every person 00:43:42.72\00:43:45.85 we have been speaking to your mind, now let me 00:43:45.89\00:43:47.89 spend the last several moments speaking to your 00:43:47.92\00:43:49.76 heart, speaking to you what? Heart. Heart, every person 00:43:49.79\00:43:55.06 in this room in fact every person outside of this room, 00:43:55.10\00:43:59.30 every culture, every country, every philosophy, 00:44:00.07\00:44:05.17 every world view, every single culture, social group, 00:44:05.54\00:44:10.41 governmental agency that you can think of all of these 00:44:10.45\00:44:13.82 must answer four inescapable questions, 00:44:13.85\00:44:19.45 four inescapable questions. And I guarantee that each 00:44:19.79\00:44:22.99 of you sitting in this room tonight have wrestled with 00:44:23.02\00:44:25.39 one or more probably all of these four questions. 00:44:25.43\00:44:30.77 Friends, I want to tell you tonight Christianity is the 00:44:31.90\00:44:34.90 thinking man's religion. Amen. Amen. God as we said last 00:44:34.94\00:44:38.81 night God did not come to disable men's minds. 00:44:38.84\00:44:42.54 God came to set free the mind of man and to enable 00:44:42.78\00:44:46.78 men's mind and women's too. Amen. Amen. That's why 00:44:46.82\00:44:50.09 he came, Christianity is a religion that causes us to 00:44:50.12\00:44:54.22 think, it not only causes us to feel that I'm all for 00:44:54.26\00:44:57.33 feelings Amen. Amen. I said amen. Amen. 00:44:57.36\00:45:00.20 I'm all for feelings, but you can't have your whole 00:45:00.23\00:45:02.36 life driven by emotions, your whole life driven by 00:45:02.40\00:45:05.10 feelings, there must be some intellectual continuity 00:45:05.13\00:45:08.40 there in order to keep us interested. 00:45:08.44\00:45:10.37 Friends the Bible is an intelligent book that speaks 00:45:11.07\00:45:13.58 to intelligent people and the God of the Bible is an 00:45:13.61\00:45:16.58 intelligent God that created an intelligent people. 00:45:16.61\00:45:19.55 Amen. Amen. Now our minds are numb 00:45:19.58\00:45:21.78 and dull through sin, I freely admit this, but if we 00:45:21.82\00:45:24.45 will surrender our powers and we'll surrender our 00:45:24.49\00:45:26.76 lives to the God of the Bible, we will find that our 00:45:26.79\00:45:29.09 mind will broaden that it will begin to see new 00:45:29.12\00:45:31.93 horizons and new vistas and the whole world will 00:45:31.96\00:45:35.13 open to us up to us in a way we had never seen before. 00:45:35.16\00:45:38.03 Now notice this four inescapable questions. 00:45:40.20\00:45:42.80 Origin. Meaning. Morality. And Destiny. 00:45:42.84\00:45:46.64 Every single person on the top side of the earth and 00:45:47.28\00:45:49.68 every person in history must wrestle with these 00:45:49.71\00:45:52.21 four questions origin; where am I from, 00:45:52.25\00:45:55.28 meaning; why am I here, have you ever asked 00:45:57.39\00:46:00.89 yourself that question yes or no? Be honest. 00:46:00.92\00:46:02.82 Yes. Sure you have. What about the third one 00:46:02.86\00:46:05.86 there morality how should I live? And number 4 destiny 00:46:05.89\00:46:10.13 where am I going? Friends these are the very questions 00:46:10.17\00:46:15.10 that the Bible sets out to answer. Let us begin by 00:46:15.14\00:46:18.37 looking at number 1, where am I from, go with me to 00:46:18.41\00:46:21.11 Genesis chapter 2, Genesis what chapter 00:46:21.14\00:46:24.11 are we are going to? Two. Genesis chapter 2 and 00:46:24.15\00:46:27.85 notice here in Genesis chapter 2, we find a very 00:46:27.88\00:46:30.62 powerful statement, a very powerful verse that links us 00:46:30.65\00:46:35.19 inexorably to the creative hand of God. I'm in 00:46:35.22\00:46:38.39 Genesis chapter 2 and I'm beginning in verse 7 and 00:46:38.43\00:46:41.26 the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, 00:46:41.30\00:46:44.77 who formed man everyone? God. God formed man. 00:46:44.80\00:46:47.80 He is not the process in the result of some you know 00:46:47.84\00:46:50.87 evolutionarily long ages you know, microevolution, 00:46:50.91\00:46:54.24 microevolution, microevolution, of me, but 00:46:54.28\00:46:56.38 to monkey to reptile boom and all the sudden you have 00:46:56.41\00:46:58.81 man the Bible says God made man. Can you say, Amen? 00:46:58.85\00:47:04.09 Amen. That's what Buddy's song was all about tonight. 00:47:04.12\00:47:06.29 Amen. He's a hands on God friends. 00:47:06.32\00:47:08.66 Amen. Amen. Now notice what it says here it goes beyond 00:47:09.82\00:47:12.43 that and the Lord God formed man of the dust of 00:47:12.46\00:47:14.13 the ground any he breathed into his nostrils notice the 00:47:14.16\00:47:16.67 intimacy there. If you are going to breath into 00:47:16.70\00:47:18.83 somebody nostrils you have to get close he is not a 00:47:18.87\00:47:23.51 distant God, he is not a God that just spoke and we came 00:47:23.54\00:47:27.18 into existence that's what he did with the other things 00:47:27.21\00:47:29.24 I love that, that element in Buddy's song there, where he 00:47:29.28\00:47:32.01 said the other things you know where spoken to 00:47:32.05\00:47:33.82 existence, but when it came time to create this creature 00:47:33.85\00:47:36.52 made in his own image he stooped down in the mud, 00:47:36.65\00:47:39.25 he formed him out of the mud and then an intimate 00:47:39.29\00:47:41.69 act, a powerful act, he leans forward and breaths into 00:47:41.72\00:47:45.73 our nostrils the breath of life and notice what it says 00:47:45.76\00:47:49.26 and man became a living being. No place for 00:47:49.30\00:47:53.64 evolution here friends. God made man in his own 00:47:53.67\00:47:57.64 image. That answers question number 1, where 00:47:57.67\00:47:59.44 am I from? The answer is you are from the hand of 00:47:59.47\00:48:02.88 God made in the image of God to love God and know 00:48:02.91\00:48:05.98 him and enjoy him forever. Amen. Amen! 00:48:06.01\00:48:08.72 By the way go with me from the first book of the 00:48:08.75\00:48:10.65 Old Testament to the first book of the New 00:48:10.69\00:48:12.12 Testament, Mathew chapter 19, Mathew chapter 19 and 00:48:12.15\00:48:16.86 we are going to verse 4, Mathew chapter 19 00:48:16.89\00:48:19.39 and what verse everyone? 4 Now notice this, Jesus here 00:48:19.43\00:48:24.37 is speaking, who is speaking everyone, Jesus, 00:48:24.40\00:48:26.70 Jesus is speaking. And it says in verse 4, Have you 00:48:26.74\00:48:31.14 not read that he who made them at the beginning made 00:48:31.17\00:48:35.94 them male and female, how did he make them at the 00:48:35.98\00:48:38.78 beginning everyone. Male and female. Male and female 00:48:38.81\00:48:41.05 this is an obvious reference to the creation story verse 00:48:41.08\00:48:43.18 5, and said for this trees in a man shall live his father 00:48:43.22\00:48:45.92 and mother and rejoin to his life and the two should 00:48:45.95\00:48:48.19 become one flesh so then they are no longer too but 00:48:48.22\00:48:50.99 one flesh therefore what God has joined together. 00:48:51.03\00:48:54.10 Let not man put separate, do you know what Jesus is 00:48:54.13\00:48:56.80 doing here? Jesus is endorsing the Old 00:48:56.83\00:49:01.64 Testament creation account. Amen. If we would have 00:49:01.67\00:49:05.47 to bring Jesus on to the platform this evening, if he 00:49:05.51\00:49:07.71 would come to sent the commend to this room, 00:49:07.74\00:49:09.08 we would ask him, we would say to Jesus do you 00:49:09.11\00:49:10.98 believe evolution he say I don't believe in evolution 00:49:11.01\00:49:13.38 that's not how my father creates. My father creates 00:49:13.42\00:49:16.05 instantaneously and he affirms here that when he 00:49:16.08\00:49:19.02 made him in the beginning he made a male and female. 00:49:19.05\00:49:21.62 Jesus believed in Moses account of instantaneous 00:49:21.66\00:49:25.56 creation. Can you say Amen? Amen. Now friends' evolution 00:49:25.59\00:49:28.80 is that war with biblical creation and we're going to 00:49:28.83\00:49:31.60 talk about that in the future nights. But question 00:49:31.63\00:49:34.30 number 1 has been answered for us where 00:49:34.34\00:49:35.74 am I from? I can remember 7 years ago almost 8 years 00:49:35.77\00:49:38.57 ago I was in a cold room Laramie Wyoming, 00:49:38.61\00:49:40.91 my whole life had apparently fallen apart and 00:49:40.94\00:49:43.14 I was beginning to ask these kinds of questions 00:49:43.18\00:49:45.15 and there was a pain in my soul, an anguish in my soul, 00:49:45.18\00:49:48.12 tears running down my cheeks and I thought. 00:49:48.15\00:49:49.72 Oh! Where am I from anyway. Now do you think 00:49:50.12\00:49:54.19 that the answer to that question will have 00:49:54.22\00:49:55.92 significance on the way I'm going to live my life. 00:49:55.96\00:49:58.29 Amen. Friends if I think that I'm just the descendent 00:49:58.33\00:50:01.76 of some you know infinitely long evolutionarily 00:50:01.80\00:50:04.83 long, ages of time and the descendent of some 00:50:04.87\00:50:07.20 monkey you think that might have an influence on 00:50:07.24\00:50:09.50 how I live my life. Friends, if I'm descendent from 00:50:09.54\00:50:12.14 monkeys, I'm gonna act like a monkey. 00:50:12.17\00:50:13.84 But, if I'm created in the image of God by Him to 00:50:15.31\00:50:19.71 know Him, to love Him and to enjoy Him forever. 00:50:19.75\00:50:23.72 That is going to have a transformative 00:50:24.49\00:50:26.55 effect on my life. Amen. How about number 2, 00:50:26.92\00:50:30.83 why am I here? Why am I here? Who put me here? 00:50:30.86\00:50:35.96 And for what purpose? Go with me in your Bible to 00:50:36.00\00:50:39.17 second Peter toward the end of the New Testament, 00:50:39.20\00:50:41.37 first Peter rather toward the end of the new testament 00:50:41.40\00:50:44.47 we're going to First Peter chapter 2, 00:50:44.51\00:50:46.11 First Peter what chapter? Two. First Peter chapter 2, 00:50:46.78\00:50:49.91 if you find the book of James towards the end of 00:50:50.61\00:50:52.31 the New Testament the next book is First Peter chapter 2 00:50:52.35\00:50:55.25 and I'm reading in verse 9, First Peter chapter 2 and 00:50:55.28\00:50:58.82 verse 9, the Bible says but you are a chosen 00:50:58.85\00:51:02.86 generation, what kind of generation? 00:51:02.89\00:51:04.43 Chosen. A chosen generation, a royal priesthood, 00:51:04.79\00:51:07.26 a holy nation, His own special people, why did you 00:51:07.30\00:51:10.97 make us this way God? That you may proclaim the 00:51:11.00\00:51:13.84 praises of Him, who called you out of darkness into His 00:51:13.87\00:51:18.04 marvelous light. Amen. Why did God create us, 00:51:18.07\00:51:21.94 so that we could proclaim His praises the One who 00:51:22.18\00:51:24.55 called this out of darkness, out of ignorance, into His 00:51:24.58\00:51:27.78 marvelous life friends? God created you, so that you can 00:51:27.82\00:51:31.89 know Him, so that you can love Him and enjoy Him 00:51:31.92\00:51:34.96 forever. The God of the Bible is all about 00:51:34.99\00:51:37.29 relationships. Friends it is relationships that gives life 00:51:37.33\00:51:42.26 significance, it is relationships that gives life 00:51:42.30\00:51:45.20 meaning. Can you say Amen? Amen. There is no such thing 00:51:45.23\00:51:47.77 as meaning in life apart from relationships. 00:51:47.80\00:51:49.60 If you came to the end of your life and you were 00:51:49.64\00:51:51.34 driving the best car and you lived in the biggest house 00:51:51.37\00:51:53.68 and you have the most successful company on 00:51:53.71\00:51:57.15 Wall Street. If you came to that position in your life 00:51:57.18\00:51:59.68 and you didn't have children, you didn't have 00:51:59.71\00:52:01.05 loved one, you had no meaningful relationship 00:52:01.08\00:52:03.52 you have missed the whole purpose and significance 00:52:03.55\00:52:06.19 and meaning of life. Amen. Friends, God created us to 00:52:06.22\00:52:10.56 have a relationship with us. He created us so that we 00:52:10.59\00:52:13.76 would show forth the praises of Him who called 00:52:13.80\00:52:15.66 us out of darkness into His marvelous lights. 00:52:15.70\00:52:18.30 Now notice that question number 2 is why am I here? 00:52:19.63\00:52:22.84 We have answered that question we are here to 00:52:22.87\00:52:24.87 glorify God, to know Him and to show forth His 00:52:24.91\00:52:27.68 praises. How should I live? How should we live? 00:52:27.71\00:52:30.68 Jesus said in John chapter 14 and verse 15 in very 00:52:32.05\00:52:34.65 simple language easy to understand even a child can 00:52:34.68\00:52:37.09 grasp this. He said if you love me keep 00:52:37.12\00:52:41.19 my what everyone? Commandments. 00:52:41.22\00:52:43.32 Commandments. Does God have commandments? 00:52:43.36\00:52:45.03 Yes. Friends God has commandments and there 00:52:45.06\00:52:47.63 are ways that we ought to live Amen. 00:52:47.66\00:52:50.20 And there are ways that we are not to live. 00:52:50.23\00:52:53.30 God here rejects this idea of situational ethics. 00:52:53.34\00:52:57.54 Well you know maybe murder is okay under 00:52:57.57\00:52:59.51 certain circumstances. God rejects this out of hand. 00:52:59.54\00:53:03.24 He simply says thou shall not murder and there is no 00:53:03.28\00:53:06.35 find print at the bottom of that. Amen. Amen. 00:53:06.38\00:53:08.68 And yet right at the, at the heart of the law is, is love 00:53:08.72\00:53:12.32 friends that's in Romans chapter 10 teaches us that 00:53:12.35\00:53:14.56 the fulfilling of the law is love. How should we live 00:53:14.59\00:53:19.93 by the two great golden rules. Do you know what 00:53:20.50\00:53:22.60 those two rules are? Number 1, you shall love 00:53:22.63\00:53:25.20 the Lord your God with all your heart and your mind 00:53:25.23\00:53:28.97 and your soul. Notice that, your heart and your mind. 00:53:29.00\00:53:32.74 Friends when you become a Christian, you don't turn 00:53:33.64\00:53:35.21 your mind off. Amen. Amen. That's what the series is all 00:53:35.24\00:53:38.15 about, are we're gonna speak to the heart of course, 00:53:38.18\00:53:40.35 we're going to speak to the heart, but we must also 00:53:40.38\00:53:42.35 speak to the mind. So many sermons that we hear today 00:53:42.38\00:53:45.65 and even many of the books that are being published 00:53:45.69\00:53:47.66 require you to turn your mind off and not on. 00:53:47.69\00:53:50.26 Others are doing your thinking for you friends, 00:53:50.99\00:53:53.13 but we are to love God with all of our heart. 00:53:53.16\00:53:55.06 Amen. Amen. And our minds and our soul and Jesus said 00:53:55.10\00:54:00.30 the Second Commandment is like unto it you say it 00:54:00.57\00:54:02.70 with me thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself, is 00:54:02.74\00:54:06.47 that easy or difficult? Friends listen it's easy to 00:54:06.51\00:54:10.25 love the ones that love you, Amen. Amen. 00:54:10.28\00:54:13.75 See I love pastor Jason Seiber and when I get to 00:54:13.78\00:54:16.45 heaven and I say, but Jesus I loved pastor Jason with all 00:54:16.48\00:54:20.12 of my heart, I loved him as best as I could, he is gonna 00:54:20.16\00:54:22.72 say big deal. Jason' is easy to love, you understanding? 00:54:22.76\00:54:28.90 What about all those unlovely people friends? 00:54:29.90\00:54:32.13 What about the ones that are tough to love, God calls 00:54:32.33\00:54:34.20 us to love them. What about that person who 00:54:34.24\00:54:35.94 wronged you. You ever been wronged, ever had 00:54:35.97\00:54:39.61 somebody turn on you, stab you in the back 00:54:39.64\00:54:42.14 and everything inside you just wants to boil up and 00:54:42.84\00:54:46.35 get back at them, but God says no you love them. 00:54:46.38\00:54:48.68 Amen. How should we live morality and last, but not 00:54:48.72\00:54:51.92 least, where am I going? Friends, I'll tell you tonight, 00:54:51.95\00:54:54.96 where I'm going. Jesus was speaking to His disciples in 00:54:54.99\00:54:56.83 John chapter 14 and he said let not your heart be 00:54:56.86\00:54:59.59 troubled, you believe in God believe also in me and 00:54:59.63\00:55:02.40 my father's house have many mansions if it were 00:55:02.43\00:55:04.20 not so, I would have told you I go and prepare a 00:55:04.23\00:55:06.63 place for you and if I go and prepare place for you. 00:55:06.67\00:55:08.64 I will come again and receive you unto myself 00:55:08.67\00:55:12.04 that where I am you may be also friends, you know, 00:55:12.07\00:55:15.28 what we are had it. Do you know what our destiny is? 00:55:15.31\00:55:17.75 Our destiny is heaven and eternity with the Lord 00:55:17.78\00:55:21.98 Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen. Friends' that speaks to the 00:55:22.02\00:55:24.85 heart and it speaks to the mind. Each of these four 00:55:24.89\00:55:27.72 questions powerfully answered, does God exist 00:55:27.76\00:55:29.89 of course he exists, compiling evidence 00:55:29.92\00:55:31.86 demonstrates that origin, meaning, morality, and 00:55:31.89\00:55:34.90 destiny. Origin where am I from? Meaning why 00:55:34.93\00:55:38.63 am I here? Morality how should I live in? Destiny 00:55:38.67\00:55:41.10 where am I going? Friends, I'll tell you where I'm going. 00:55:41.14\00:55:43.20 By the grace of God I'm going to that kingdom. 00:55:43.67\00:55:45.44 Amen. That's Celestial Kingdom. 00:55:45.47\00:55:47.51 I want to walk, I want to walk on streets of gold, 00:55:47.54\00:55:50.38 but not by myself friends. I want to walk with Jesus. 00:55:50.41\00:55:52.75 Amen. How about you? As we close tonight, I want 00:55:52.78\00:55:56.22 to ask two questions. Number 1, has tonight's 00:55:56.25\00:55:59.95 message been clear, have you understood the 00:56:00.16\00:56:02.66 message? If that is the case raise your hand 00:56:02.69\00:56:04.13 high to heaven. Amen. You have turned your mind 00:56:04.16\00:56:07.10 on and you've understood the second question is 00:56:07.13\00:56:09.33 tonight how many of you, how many of you want to 00:56:09.36\00:56:12.20 make that full, total, and complete surrender of your 00:56:12.23\00:56:14.94 life and your heart to Jesus Christ why don't you raise 00:56:14.97\00:56:17.11 your hand? God bless you all. Friends this is a 00:56:17.14\00:56:20.08 decision you will not regret, this is the greatest decision 00:56:20.11\00:56:23.04 you can make and tonight I urge upon you to continue 00:56:23.08\00:56:26.68 to live in that decision that's my 00:56:26.72\00:56:29.65 encouragement to you, God bless you all. 00:56:29.68\00:56:31.52
