Thank you, Janina. 00:03:42.05\00:03:43.82 Jesus explained to His followers 00:03:43.85\00:03:45.72 how many of the prophecies in the Old Testament 00:03:45.75\00:03:48.72 pointed to Him and His work on earth for their salvation. 00:03:48.76\00:03:52.69 There are hundreds of them. 00:03:52.73\00:03:54.13 Later in our Bible study, 00:03:54.16\00:03:55.73 we'll learn about the prophecy God gave to Daniel in a vision 00:03:55.76\00:03:59.43 that predicted the exact time 00:03:59.47\00:04:01.70 when Jesus would begin His ministry on earth. 00:04:01.74\00:04:04.97 And Jesus did just as prophesied. 00:04:05.01\00:04:08.14 It would be scientifically and mathematically impossible 00:04:08.18\00:04:12.05 for so many predictions to be correct 00:04:12.08\00:04:14.62 about one person just by chance. 00:04:14.65\00:04:17.32 Bryce, would you like to find the last clue in our jewel box? 00:04:17.35\00:04:20.26 "If a prophecy is repeated and more details given, 00:04:25.33\00:04:28.83 it is a sign that it is very important." 00:04:28.86\00:04:31.33 Okay, that means we should study it carefully 00:04:31.37\00:04:34.50 until we understand what God is telling us. 00:04:34.54\00:04:37.74 He's always trying to help us 00:04:37.77\00:04:39.47 and strengthen our trust in Him. 00:04:39.51\00:04:41.88 We can trust God in everything, 00:04:41.91\00:04:43.91 just like Daniel and his three friends did. 00:04:43.95\00:04:47.02 Wow, thanks, Aunty Leah. 00:04:47.05\00:04:48.92 It's so important to remember that 00:04:48.95\00:04:50.99 all of these prophecies point to Jesus, 00:04:51.02\00:04:55.09 what He is doing 00:04:55.12\00:04:56.46 and what He is going to do for us. 00:04:56.49\00:04:58.19 We have so much to be thankful for. 00:04:58.23\00:05:01.26 Uncle Daniel, I'm ready to sing some songs. 00:05:01.30\00:05:04.43 I am too. 00:05:04.47\00:05:05.80 That's a good thing too 00:05:05.83\00:05:07.17 because Braedan is here to join us. 00:05:07.20\00:05:08.60 Hi, Uncle Daniel, and hi all of you as well. 00:05:08.64\00:05:11.47 It's now the Sabbath 00:05:11.51\00:05:12.84 and let's begin with a Sabbath song called 00:05:12.87\00:05:14.98 "It's the Sabbath." 00:05:15.01\00:05:16.34 It's the Sabbath, it's the Sabbath 00:05:22.55\00:05:25.55 We will worship as we sing 00:05:25.59\00:05:28.16 For our God has come to join us 00:05:28.19\00:05:30.76 Let us spend time with our King 00:05:30.79\00:05:33.29 It's the Sabbath, it's the Sabbath 00:05:33.33\00:05:35.93 We will all sing and rejoice 00:05:35.96\00:05:38.37 As we leave our week behind us 00:05:38.40\00:05:40.94 And we praise God with one voice 00:05:40.97\00:05:43.87 For God's day is the seventh day 00:05:43.91\00:05:46.41 Of ev'ry week we know 00:05:46.44\00:05:48.98 He gave us time to spend with Him 00:05:49.01\00:05:51.48 Because he loves us so 00:05:51.51\00:05:53.75 It's the Sabbath, it's the Sabbath 00:05:53.78\00:05:56.42 Do you hear Him call today 00:05:56.45\00:05:59.05 As we come here now to worship Him 00:05:59.09\00:06:02.02 On His appointed day 00:06:02.06\00:06:05.29 Braedan, can we please sing "Dare to be a Daniel?" 00:06:05.33\00:06:08.20 Oh, that is such a good song choice, 00:06:08.23\00:06:10.17 Uncle Daniel, this is your song. 00:06:10.20\00:06:12.47 Let's sing it together. 00:06:12.50\00:06:13.84 Standing by a purpose true Heeding God's command 00:06:17.01\00:06:23.24 Honor them, the faithful few! 00:10:33.03\00:10:34.36 Today is the big day of the trial for murder. 00:10:34.40\00:10:38.10 Are you going to see it? 00:10:38.13\00:10:39.47 He said, "Well, I don't know why I'm here." 00:10:39.50\00:10:42.30 And he wandered into the courthouse. 00:10:42.34\00:10:45.41 Now, the old fashioned courthouses in England, 00:10:45.44\00:10:49.24 the judge wore a wig 00:10:49.28\00:10:52.75 and there is a judge's wig. 00:10:52.78\00:10:55.52 And there he was sitting, 00:10:58.69\00:11:01.42 and Captain Jarvis arrived there just as 00:11:01.46\00:11:06.70 the judge was doing this. 00:11:06.73\00:11:11.13 In the old days, 00:11:11.17\00:11:13.77 when the judge took a little square of black cloth 00:11:13.80\00:11:18.57 and put it on his head like that, 00:11:18.61\00:11:21.71 that meant he was about to sentence somebody to die. 00:11:21.74\00:11:26.98 And this man was convicted of murder, 00:11:27.02\00:11:31.35 and the judge said, "Prisoner at the bar, 00:11:31.39\00:11:33.96 is there anything you want to say?" 00:11:33.99\00:11:37.79 He said, "Sir, I know I wasn't where the murder took place. 00:11:37.83\00:11:42.10 The only thing I can say is, one man was standing with me 00:11:42.13\00:11:47.54 when the great Derry clock struck 13 times at midnight. 00:11:47.57\00:11:52.41 He's the only one who can save my life. 00:11:52.44\00:11:56.75 And Captain Jarvis stood up and said, Your Honor, 00:11:56.78\00:12:01.78 hold the court, take your black cap off, 00:12:01.82\00:12:05.95 I'm the man, I was there, 00:12:05.99\00:12:10.23 and his life was saved. 00:12:10.26\00:12:12.76 That was a miracle, 00:12:12.79\00:12:15.03 and you know, folks, 00:12:15.06\00:12:17.27 we're all under sentence of death. 00:12:17.30\00:12:20.14 And there is nothing that could possibly save us 00:12:20.17\00:12:23.74 except the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:12:23.77\00:12:27.24 He did far worse than Captain Jarvis 00:12:27.28\00:12:29.91 who got up in the middle of the night, 00:12:29.94\00:12:32.21 he allowed himself to take the place 00:12:32.25\00:12:35.38 of all the guilty people. 00:12:35.42\00:12:38.25 And it's good that when we get to the kingdom 00:12:38.29\00:12:40.39 and God will be his judge. 00:12:40.42\00:12:42.66 When He sees us, 00:12:42.69\00:12:44.23 He won't be wearing the black cap 00:12:44.26\00:12:46.73 and said, "He will welcome us to the kingdom of heaven." 00:12:46.76\00:12:49.50 Do you like that story? 00:12:49.53\00:12:51.23 I love it. Thank you, boys and girls. 00:12:51.27\00:12:54.90 It's time for our Bible study. 00:12:54.94\00:12:56.60 Today, we'll see how the prophecy showed 00:12:56.64\00:12:59.11 that Jesus is indeed the Messiah, our Savior. 00:12:59.14\00:13:03.08 Chemiah, would you please pray to open our Bible study? 00:13:03.11\00:13:06.41 Sure. 00:13:06.45\00:13:08.55 Dear Jesus, please help us to understand what we read 00:13:08.58\00:13:11.99 and please make our trust in You strong 00:13:12.02\00:13:14.56 as we study the prophecies in Daniel, 00:13:14.59\00:13:16.96 in Jesus' name, amen. 00:13:16.99\00:13:19.56 Thank you, Chemiah. 00:13:19.59\00:13:20.93 Jireh, what did we learn about last week? 00:13:20.96\00:13:24.10 We learned about the longest time prophecy in the Bible. 00:13:24.13\00:13:26.74 Yes, that's right. 00:13:26.77\00:13:28.10 And do you remember how long that prophecy was? 00:13:28.14\00:13:31.17 Two thousand, three hundred years. 00:13:31.21\00:13:33.17 Yes. 00:13:33.21\00:13:34.54 Remember last week, we read that Daniel fainted 00:13:34.58\00:13:37.45 before the Angel Gabriel could explain 00:13:37.48\00:13:39.61 the prophetic 2300 days. 00:13:39.65\00:13:42.62 In Chapter 9 of Daniel, Gabriel comes back 00:13:42.65\00:13:45.29 to explain more of Daniel's vision 00:13:45.32\00:13:47.06 described in Chapter 8. 00:13:47.09\00:13:48.86 Today, we'll find out the start and end dates 00:13:48.89\00:13:51.83 for the 2300 day prophecy. 00:13:51.86\00:13:54.63 But we have some other things to discover first. 00:13:54.66\00:13:57.47 Let's open our Bibles to Daniel Chapter 9. 00:13:57.50\00:14:00.44 Daniel has been studying the scriptures. 00:14:00.47\00:14:02.47 He knew from Jeremiah's prophecy 00:14:02.50\00:14:04.41 that God's people would be delivered 00:14:04.44\00:14:06.44 after 70 years of captivity. 00:14:06.47\00:14:09.21 Daniel calculated that the promised deliverance 00:14:09.24\00:14:12.51 was only a couple of years away. 00:14:12.55\00:14:14.95 So he prayed earnestly 00:14:14.98\00:14:16.58 for the deliverance of his people. 00:14:16.62\00:14:18.72 Bethany, would you please read verse 18, 00:14:18.75\00:14:21.19 which is close to the end of Daniel's humbled prayer? 00:14:21.22\00:14:26.26 O my God, incline Your ear and hear, 00:14:26.29\00:14:29.00 open Your eyes and see our desolations, 00:14:29.03\00:14:31.27 and the city which is called by Your name, 00:14:31.30\00:14:33.40 for we do not present our supplications before You 00:14:33.44\00:14:35.94 because of our righteous deeds, 00:14:35.97\00:14:37.64 but because of Your great mercies." 00:14:37.67\00:14:40.18 Daniel knew it was God's reputation at stake, 00:14:40.21\00:14:44.05 not just the Israelites, they'd let God down. 00:14:44.08\00:14:47.72 They failed to be living examples of God's love 00:14:47.75\00:14:50.22 and truth in the world. 00:14:50.25\00:14:51.79 But God was so merciful, 00:14:51.82\00:14:53.36 He gave them another opportunity 00:14:53.39\00:14:55.29 to enjoy the freedom that only God can provide. 00:14:55.32\00:14:59.23 God heard Daniel's prayer 00:14:59.26\00:15:01.13 and sent Gabriel to comfort him. 00:15:01.16\00:15:03.77 Jireh, would you please read verse 23? 00:15:03.80\00:15:08.57 "At the beginning of your supplications 00:15:08.60\00:15:10.81 the command went out, and I have come to tell you, 00:15:10.84\00:15:15.14 for you are greatly beloved, therefore consider the matter, 00:15:15.18\00:15:18.55 and understand the vision." 00:15:18.58\00:15:20.62 How comforting to be told by an angel 00:15:20.65\00:15:23.95 that you are greatly loved in heaven. 00:15:23.99\00:15:26.86 Gabriel went on to explain more about the vision in verse 24. 00:15:26.89\00:15:31.56 Can you please continue, Bryce? 00:15:31.59\00:15:32.99 "Seventy weeks are determined for your people 00:15:36.26\00:15:38.57 and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, 00:15:38.60\00:15:41.90 to make an end of sins, 00:15:41.94\00:15:43.67 to make reconciliation for iniquity, 00:15:43.71\00:15:49.08 to bring in everlasting righteousness, 00:15:49.11\00:15:51.78 to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy." 00:15:51.81\00:15:56.15 That's a lot to take in, isn't it? 00:15:56.18\00:15:58.62 Well, let's break it down, 00:15:58.65\00:16:00.46 so that we can understand what is being said. 00:16:00.49\00:16:03.43 How many days in 70 weeks? 00:16:03.46\00:16:06.76 Four hundred and ninety days. 00:16:06.80\00:16:09.60 Yes. 00:16:09.63\00:16:10.97 And how long does 490 days represent in prophetic time? 00:16:11.00\00:16:16.14 Four hundred and ninety years. 00:16:16.17\00:16:18.71 That's right. 00:16:18.74\00:16:20.08 This verse says that 00:16:20.11\00:16:21.44 these 490 years were determined or cut off. 00:16:21.48\00:16:25.65 Now the question is, cut off from what? 00:16:25.68\00:16:28.88 Well, cut off from the larger 2300 years 00:16:28.92\00:16:32.69 that we learned about in Chapter 8. 00:16:32.72\00:16:35.12 During this 490 year period, 00:16:35.16\00:16:37.79 the Israelites were to prove their worthiness to remain 00:16:37.83\00:16:41.73 God's chosen people. 00:16:41.76\00:16:43.53 This verse talks about the Most Holy or Messiah 00:16:43.57\00:16:46.90 which is another name for Jesus. 00:16:46.94\00:16:49.04 The name Messiah means anointed. 00:16:49.07\00:16:51.67 Anointed refers to a ritual of consecrating 00:16:51.71\00:16:54.64 or setting aside someone for a special work. 00:16:54.68\00:16:58.45 In this case, Jesus, 00:16:58.48\00:16:59.81 the Most Holy or Messiah was anointed at His baptism 00:16:59.85\00:17:03.65 by the Holy Spirit 00:17:03.69\00:17:05.12 who appeared in the form of a dove 00:17:05.15\00:17:06.69 that rested on Jesus. 00:17:06.72\00:17:08.62 We need to find out 00:17:08.66\00:17:09.99 when these 490 years of Jewish probation began. 00:17:10.03\00:17:13.60 If we discovered this date, 00:17:13.63\00:17:15.53 we will also know the starting date 00:17:15.56\00:17:18.37 for the 2300 years. 00:17:18.40\00:17:21.57 Verse 25 reveals the starting date. 00:17:21.60\00:17:25.64 Would you read the first part of verse 25, 00:17:25.67\00:17:28.11 please Chemiah? 00:17:28.14\00:17:30.11 "Know therefore and understand, 00:17:30.15\00:17:32.21 that from the going forth of the command 00:17:32.25\00:17:34.62 to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, 00:17:34.65\00:17:38.65 there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks." 00:17:38.69\00:17:42.06 Thanks, Chemiah. 00:17:42.09\00:17:43.59 History and the Bible tell us there were three decrees 00:17:43.63\00:17:47.36 made by the kings of Medo-Persia 00:17:47.40\00:17:49.66 in relation to Jerusalem. 00:17:49.70\00:17:51.63 We'll learn more about these over the coming weeks. 00:17:51.67\00:17:54.64 The third decree commanded that Jerusalem be rebuilt, 00:17:54.67\00:17:58.21 and self government restored. 00:17:58.24\00:18:00.58 King Artaxerxes made this decree 00:18:00.61\00:18:03.35 in 457 BC. 00:18:03.38\00:18:06.61 You can read about that in Ezra Chapter 7. 00:18:06.65\00:18:10.82 Four hundred and ninety years 00:18:10.85\00:18:12.99 takes us to the fall of autumn 34 AD. 00:18:13.02\00:18:18.29 We don't have a zero year 00:18:18.33\00:18:20.00 when we calculate a calendar year. 00:18:20.03\00:18:22.56 How many weeks is seven weeks plus 62 weeks? 00:18:22.60\00:18:27.80 Sixty nine weeks. 00:18:27.84\00:18:30.24 That's right. 00:18:30.27\00:18:31.61 And how many days did you work out 00:18:31.64\00:18:34.24 to be in 69 weeks? 00:18:34.28\00:18:36.38 Four hundred and eighty three days. 00:18:36.41\00:18:38.51 Yes, in prophetic time, 00:18:38.55\00:18:41.32 how many literal years does 483 days represent? 00:18:41.35\00:18:45.62 Four hundred and eighty three years 00:18:45.65\00:18:48.69 Yes. 00:18:48.72\00:18:50.06 Now, let's work this out on our chart. 00:18:50.09\00:18:53.23 We don't have a zero year. 00:18:53.26\00:18:55.73 So when you move along 00:18:55.76\00:18:57.33 483 years from 457 BC, 00:18:57.37\00:19:02.94 you come to the autumn or fall of 27 AD. 00:19:02.97\00:19:08.54 Luke Chapter 3 tells us that Jesus was baptized 00:19:08.58\00:19:11.78 in the 15th year of the reign of Tiberias Caesar. 00:19:11.81\00:19:15.52 We know from history, this was 27 AD. 00:19:15.55\00:19:19.52 So history confirms what the Bible predicted. 00:19:19.55\00:19:23.76 Jesus was baptized and anointed by the Holy Spirit 00:19:23.79\00:19:27.63 in 27 AD. 00:19:27.66\00:19:30.03 During this last prophetic week, 00:19:30.07\00:19:31.93 the 70th week, something happens. 00:19:31.97\00:19:36.00 Jeremiah, would you please read the first part of verse 26? 00:19:36.04\00:19:41.91 "And after the sixty-two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, 00:19:41.94\00:19:45.98 but not for Himself." 00:19:46.01\00:19:47.88 This part of the prophecy predicts 00:19:47.92\00:19:50.05 that Jesus would be cut off or killed 00:19:50.09\00:19:53.66 but not for Himself. 00:19:53.69\00:19:55.42 He died for us. 00:19:55.46\00:19:57.06 It even prophesize the time of His death. 00:19:57.09\00:20:00.06 Sai, would you please read the first part of verse 27? 00:20:00.10\00:20:03.87 "Then he shall confirm a covenant 00:20:03.90\00:20:06.53 with many for one week, 00:20:06.57\00:20:08.40 but in the middle of the week, 00:20:08.44\00:20:09.97 He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering." 00:20:13.07\00:20:17.01 Remember our sanctuary services, 00:20:17.05\00:20:20.02 what was sacrificed on the altar? 00:20:20.05\00:20:22.82 A lamb. A lamb. 00:20:22.85\00:20:24.32 Yeah, the people confessed their sins 00:20:24.35\00:20:26.92 on the head of the lamb 00:20:26.96\00:20:28.29 and the lamb paid the full price for their sins. 00:20:28.32\00:20:31.56 And who did the lamb represent? 00:20:31.59\00:20:33.76 Jesus. Yes. 00:20:33.80\00:20:35.76 The sanctuary service pointed the people forward to the time 00:20:35.80\00:20:39.00 when Jesus would die in their place. 00:20:39.03\00:20:42.00 We don't have to die for our sins, 00:20:42.04\00:20:44.34 if we accept Jesus sacrifice on our behalf. 00:20:44.37\00:20:47.91 Let's read out torchlight, 00:20:47.94\00:20:49.34 Mrs. White's writings 00:20:49.38\00:20:51.01 in the book Royalty and Ruin, page 245, 00:20:51.05\00:20:54.78 and see what she shines on this. 00:20:54.82\00:20:57.12 Thank you, Auntie Leah, for reading that. 00:20:57.15\00:20:58.59 "In the spring of AD 31, 00:21:04.39\00:21:06.59 the true sacrifice was offered on Calvary, 00:21:06.63\00:21:09.23 when the veil of the temple was torn, 00:21:09.26\00:21:11.27 showing that the time had come 00:21:11.30\00:21:13.17 for the earthly sacrifices to end." 00:21:13.20\00:21:16.10 So Jesus' death on the cross brought an end 00:21:16.14\00:21:20.18 to the need for the animal sacrifice 00:21:20.21\00:21:22.44 and offerings. 00:21:22.48\00:21:23.81 In what part of the week did Jesus die 00:21:23.85\00:21:26.01 according to verse 27? 00:21:26.05\00:21:29.02 The middle of the week. 00:21:29.05\00:21:30.72 That's right. 00:21:30.75\00:21:32.09 Remember, we are talking about a prophetic week 00:21:32.12\00:21:34.86 or seven days. 00:21:34.89\00:21:36.66 Seven prophetic days is how many literal years? 00:21:36.69\00:21:40.20 Seven years. That's right. 00:21:40.23\00:21:42.96 Now, if Jesus died in the middle of seven years, 00:21:43.00\00:21:48.14 when did He die? 00:21:48.17\00:21:49.50 What's half of seven? 00:21:49.54\00:21:50.87 Three and a half. 00:21:50.91\00:21:52.47 That's right. 00:21:52.51\00:21:53.84 We have some very good mathematicians here. 00:21:53.88\00:21:56.54 Let's see where this is in our timeline. 00:21:56.58\00:21:59.88 Now, we know from history 00:21:59.91\00:22:01.88 that Jesus died in the spring of 31 AD, 00:22:01.92\00:22:05.79 right on time exactly as prophesied. 00:22:05.82\00:22:09.46 Jesus also rose again the third day, 00:22:09.49\00:22:12.03 just as He prophesied in Mark 8:31. 00:22:12.06\00:22:15.43 Even scientists and mathematicians 00:22:15.46\00:22:17.33 who don't believe in God 00:22:17.37\00:22:19.10 have to admit that it is impossible for one person 00:22:19.13\00:22:22.50 to fulfill so many accurate prophecies or predictions. 00:22:22.54\00:22:26.98 Only God can tell the future 00:22:27.01\00:22:28.91 like that as 2 Peter 1:21 tells us. 00:22:28.94\00:22:33.01 Would you please read that for us, Bethany? 00:22:33.05\00:22:36.52 "For prophecy never came by the will of man, 00:22:36.55\00:22:39.05 but the holy men of God 00:22:39.09\00:22:40.42 spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." 00:22:40.46\00:22:43.26 Thank you, Bethany. 00:22:43.29\00:22:44.76 This means we can trust what the Bible says, 00:22:44.79\00:22:48.06 and we can trust in Jesus' prophecy 00:22:48.10\00:22:50.53 that He will come again and take us home 00:22:50.57\00:22:53.64 to live with Him for eternity 00:22:53.67\00:22:55.84 if we trust and follow Him. 00:22:55.87\00:22:58.27 And the 2300 day-year prophecy tells us that 00:22:58.31\00:23:01.48 Jesus is coming back very soon. 00:23:01.51\00:23:04.75 Let's see why? 00:23:04.78\00:23:06.28 We've just learned that the starting date 00:23:06.31\00:23:08.22 for the 2300 years was 457 BC. 00:23:08.25\00:23:13.39 So the 2300 years 00:23:13.42\00:23:16.16 ended in 1844. 00:23:16.19\00:23:19.63 Since 1844, 00:23:19.66\00:23:21.40 we have been living 00:23:21.43\00:23:22.76 in the heavenly Day of Atonement time. 00:23:22.80\00:23:25.03 Jesus is now acting as Judge. 00:23:25.07\00:23:28.07 This means we need to be ready every day. 00:23:28.10\00:23:31.24 And Jesus has promised 00:23:31.27\00:23:32.61 to get us ready for the judgment 00:23:32.64\00:23:34.18 if we cooperate with Him. 00:23:34.21\00:23:36.41 Let's read our memory verse together in Jude 24, 00:23:36.44\00:23:39.85 the second last book of the Bible. 00:23:39.88\00:23:42.92 All right, let's read together. 00:23:42.95\00:23:44.95 "Now to Him 00:23:44.99\00:23:46.45 who is able to keep you from stumbling, 00:23:46.49\00:23:49.69 and to present you faultless 00:23:49.72\00:23:51.63 before the presence of His glory 00:23:51.66\00:23:54.13 with exceeding joy." 00:23:54.16\00:23:56.63 Jesus offers us the power 00:23:56.67\00:23:58.67 to keep us from falling into temptation and sin. 00:23:58.70\00:24:02.34 What a wonderful and encouraging promise? 00:24:02.37\00:24:05.34 We can trust God's promises 00:24:05.37\00:24:07.08 to get us ready for Jesus' return. 00:24:07.11\00:24:09.61 We are living at the end of earth's history. 00:24:09.64\00:24:12.31 Jesus will soon return and take us home 00:24:12.35\00:24:14.52 to live with Him forever. 00:24:14.55\00:24:16.18 There's so much to look forward to. 00:24:16.22\00:24:19.05 Thank you for reading along with us. 00:24:19.09\00:24:21.16 Just in case you haven't already been 00:24:21.19\00:24:23.29 downloading our devotionals, 00:24:23.32\00:24:25.33 listen to Matthew and Caleigh to find out more. 00:24:25.36\00:24:28.13 What do you want?
