Hello there. Happy Sabbath. 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.67 Come on in. We're about to meet with the King. 00:00:03.70\00:00:05.83 ¤ ¤ 00:00:05.87\00:00:53.42 Good day. I'm Auntie Nat. 00:00:53.45\00:00:54.78 And I'm Auntie Cecily. 00:00:54.82\00:00:56.15 We're so glad you've decided to 00:00:56.18\00:00:57.52 join us in our worship time with the King. Auntie Cecily, I know 00:00:57.55\00:01:01.36 you want to say hello to someone who's been watching the 00:01:01.39\00:01:03.56 program. 00:01:03.59\00:01:04.93 Yes. I want to say a big hello to Reeanna from New South Wales. 00:01:04.96\00:01:08.76 Hello, Hi, Hi. 00:01:08.80\00:01:10.23 We would like to know where you are watching us from. Drop us a 00:01:10.27\00:01:14.17 line and let us know. Our address is on the screen 00:01:14.20\00:01:17.11 So quick write it down now. 00:01:18.24\00:01:19.57 I know the children that are here would love to know who is 00:01:19.61\00:01:22.08 watching and being blessed. We also can't forget to say hello 00:01:22.11\00:01:25.38 to Teddy. You're so quiet here Teddy, you're such a good boy. 00:01:25.41\00:01:28.68 Jireh, can you please say a prayer for us to open our 00:01:28.72\00:01:32.55 worship time? 00:01:32.59\00:01:34.02 Yeah. Dear Jesus, thank you for this day. Please help us to 00:01:34.06\00:01:40.76 learn more about you and in Jesus' name I pray. Amen. 00:01:40.80\00:01:46.37 Amen. Thank you very much Jireh. Aunt Cecily, how's your week 00:01:46.40\00:01:50.91 been? 00:01:50.94\00:01:52.27 I've had a very busy week but I always look forward to the 00:01:52.31\00:01:54.18 Sabbath where I can have a rest. 00:01:54.21\00:01:58.11 Yes, I'm so happy that the Sabbath is here. No housework 00:01:58.18\00:02:00.28 on the Sabbath. Isn't that wonderful. I'm so grateful to 00:02:00.32\00:02:02.38 God for that. Let's have a look at our blessing box and see what 00:02:02.42\00:02:06.92 we can do for someone else on the Sabbath. Abigail, you're 00:02:06.96\00:02:10.66 going to read that for us today. 00:02:10.69\00:02:13.46 Call someone on the phone that you know has had a difficult 00:02:13.50\00:02:16.70 week and pray for them. 00:02:16.73\00:02:18.77 Oh, that would be a wonderful blessing. I think that would be 00:02:18.80\00:02:21.94 a very thoughtful thing to do, especially for someone who lives 00:02:21.97\00:02:25.07 a long way away and we can't just jump in the car and go say 00:02:25.11\00:02:28.18 hello to them. Children sometimes a thoughtful 00:02:28.21\00:02:31.45 phone call and a prayer with a grandparent, or relative or a 00:02:31.51\00:02:35.08 friend can be such an encouragement to them. 00:02:35.12\00:02:37.39 But always remember to ask mom and dad first before you make 00:02:37.45\00:02:41.02 the call. Can you think of someone that you could call, 00:02:41.06\00:02:44.19 Abigail, to talk to them and encourage them with a prayer? 00:02:44.23\00:02:47.36 My grandma in South Africa. 00:02:47.40\00:02:50.00 You know what? I think she would love to hear from you. 00:02:50.07\00:02:52.73 That would be such a blessing to here. Auntie Cecily, you have 00:02:52.77\00:02:56.91 a blessing for us as well. Can you share that with us? 00:02:56.94\00:03:00.44 Yes I do. Hope you don't mind if I nurse Teddy while I talk 00:03:00.48\00:03:02.91 to you. 00:03:02.94\00:03:04.28 That's okay. He's been a bit restless hasn't he? 00:03:04.31\00:03:05.75 Do you remember last week we spoke about reading and testing 00:03:05.78\00:03:10.65 the word of God. When we do that we'll find that the Bible 00:03:10.69\00:03:15.32 has many blessings and promises for us. We also have spoken 00:03:15.36\00:03:20.26 about Jesus' promise to take us home. Later we'll learn about 00:03:20.30\00:03:25.13 Samson's very interesting journey with God. He gave his 00:03:25.17\00:03:29.67 heart back to God after leaving Him for a time. And when he gave 00:03:29.70\00:03:34.94 his bad heart back to God it was a very noisy and loud event. We 00:03:34.98\00:03:39.75 know that Jesus' second coming will be very loud and noisy too. 00:03:39.78\00:03:44.52 Matthew 24:31 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 00:03:44.55\00:03:50.59 tell us that God will shout and use trumpets to herald Jesus' 00:03:50.63\00:03:55.66 return. And when Jesus returns to take us home to heaven it's 00:03:55.70\00:04:00.24 not going to be a secret or a quiet event and everybody will 00:04:00.27\00:04:05.01 know about it. You know, we're told in Revelation 1:7 that 00:04:05.07\00:04:10.55 every eye will see Him. We will all know when Jesus returns. 00:04:10.58\00:04:16.05 So remember to believe in God's promises. 00:04:16.08\00:04:19.19 Wow, Auntie Cecily no one's going to be confused whether 00:04:19.25\00:04:23.53 Jesus has come or not. Everyone will know about it. Oh Pastor 00:04:23.59\00:04:27.73 Rick, I'm so glad that you've arrived. Thank you for sharing 00:04:27.76\00:04:31.87 your talent with us so that we can sing praises to God. 00:04:31.90\00:04:35.07 Glad to be here and glad to be 00:04:35.10\00:04:37.67 singing some of these beautiful songs. And the song that I'd 00:04:37.74\00:04:40.74 like us all to sing is I So 00:04:40.78\00:04:42.54 Happy and the reason is because Jesus is with us. 00:04:42.58\00:04:46.88 Pastor can we please sing You Can Smile? 00:05:19.48\00:05:24.55 Ah, that's a great song. Why can we smile, anyone have an idea? 00:05:24.59\00:05:30.89 Because Jesus loves us. 00:05:30.93\00:05:33.23 Jesus loves us, yes. Anyone else 00:05:33.26\00:05:35.86 You're happy? Jesus makes us happy. This is a great song, 00:05:35.90\00:05:39.33 You Can Smile. 00:05:39.37\00:05:40.84 And again. 00:06:02.82\00:06:04.16 Pastor Rick can we sing More About Jesus? 00:06:24.98\00:06:27.68 More about Jesus. Ooo, isn't that a beautiful sound. 00:06:27.75\00:06:30.95 More about Jesus. We're going to sing it twice okay? 00:06:30.99\00:06:34.16 Okay one more time. 00:07:09.19\00:07:10.76 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's so good to praise God in song. Guess 00:07:44.73\00:07:51.57 what? Dr. John's back with some more wonderful stories for us. 00:07:51.60\00:07:56.00 We learn so much from his stories so let's go and join him 00:07:56.04\00:08:00.38 in his study. 00:08:00.41\00:08:01.78 Hello boys and girls. I'm Dr. John and welcome back to 00:08:01.81\00:08:05.75 story time. And welcome boys and girls wherever you are. 00:08:05.78\00:08:09.65 You know, a lot of these mission stories involve boats because 00:08:09.68\00:08:14.46 in the old days that was the only way you could travel. They 00:08:14.52\00:08:18.99 had big boats and they had little boats and they had medium 00:08:19.03\00:08:23.50 size boats and this boat was a medium size boat. It could go 00:08:23.53\00:08:28.24 in the seas, not the really big seas but you know when you 00:08:28.27\00:08:34.88 got on the Portal and sailed in that don't have breakfast 00:08:34.91\00:08:39.21 because so many people got sea sick and their breakfast would 00:08:39.25\00:08:43.52 go to the fishes. This little boat sailed backwards and 00:08:43.55\00:08:47.86 forwards everywhere during it life and then came the war and 00:08:47.89\00:08:52.29 the Japanese were coming to the Solomon Islands and they were 00:08:52.36\00:08:56.40 really worried and they started up the boats. They had four 00:08:56.43\00:09:00.84 boats and three of them started up but the motor wouldn't go. 00:09:00.87\00:09:05.27 And the officer, the army officer, he said, All right 00:09:05.31\00:09:10.38 burn it. No, no, no, don't burn our boat. We love the Portal. 00:09:10.45\00:09:15.45 Burn it! He got two big drums of petrol and he poured it over, 00:09:15.48\00:09:21.02 he threw in a match and whoof it caught on fire. Well all the 00:09:21.06\00:09:25.59 natives were crying and the officer got on his boat and he 00:09:25.66\00:09:29.83 sailed out and there were flames everywhere. And as soon as he 00:09:29.86\00:09:35.27 turned his back there was a big blanket that just went phoof and 00:09:35.30\00:09:40.41 the flames stopped. Oh, they were so happy. The boat was very 00:09:40.44\00:09:45.48 dirty and it had burn marks on it but it was still okay. 00:09:45.51\00:09:49.08 Oh, the Japanese are coming! We can see the boats. Quickly, 00:09:49.15\00:09:52.42 let's hide the Portal. And they took it across the lagoon and 00:09:52.45\00:09:55.79 they found a little creek and they pushed it right up to the 00:09:55.82\00:10:00.16 very top. Then, they put some leaves on it and more leaves 00:10:00.20\00:10:06.17 until it looked like a great big bush. And they took out the 00:10:06.20\00:10:11.97 motor and they pulled all the parts, every nut, bolt and 00:10:12.01\00:10:17.71 spring and hid them. For three years it lay in that creek, dark 00:10:17.75\00:10:27.16 covered with leaves and the Japanese never ever found it. 00:10:27.19\00:10:31.79 And when the war was finished Pastor Ferris can back and he 00:10:31.83\00:10:35.90 said, oh, too bad about the Portal wasn't it. Oh no! We've 00:10:35.93\00:10:39.83 got the Portal! No, I've got here a piece of paper from the 00:10:39.87\00:10:43.87 government, it was burnt. No! No, we've got the Portal. Come 00:10:43.91\00:10:48.34 with me. And they pulled out from underneath all the leaves 00:10:48.38\00:10:52.81 this boat, all black, all dirty but it still floated. Ah, this 00:10:52.85\00:10:58.09 is wonderful. Where's the... Oh that's not a motor. That's a 00:10:58.12\00:11:03.26 hump of iron. Where are all the bits and pieces, the nuts and 00:11:03.29\00:11:07.50 bolts. Ah, you watch and they beat the drums, poom, poom, 00:11:07.53\00:11:12.23 poom, poom and the message went right around the islands 00:11:12.27\00:11:16.71 and people turned up and they found a lady who was wearing 00:11:16.74\00:11:21.98 something round her neck. What is that you've got round your 00:11:22.01\00:11:28.08 neck? Oh, oh, it's a nut and it's all shiny. You've been 00:11:28.12\00:11:33.69 wearing it round your neck for how many years? Three years. 00:11:33.72\00:11:39.23 Ah, he was so pleased. And then somebody else came up. What have 00:11:39.26\00:11:45.20 you got? Yes I've had that in my pocket for three years and it's 00:11:45.23\00:11:51.04 all shiny. Somebody else came up Yes, I've had this in my pocket 00:11:51.07\00:11:56.85 for all these years. And so every bit came, even the 00:11:56.88\00:12:05.35 pistons; I hid that under my house and covered it with oil. 00:12:05.39\00:12:10.96 You know they put all the pieces back together and Pastor Ferris 00:12:10.99\00:12:14.96 says now I hope it will start because these pieces have been 00:12:15.00\00:12:19.07 everywhere. If it is missing one piece, it won't start. And 00:12:19.10\00:12:23.41 he got the starting rope and he tied it round and everybody's 00:12:23.44\00:12:27.41 watching. Not a noise from the crowd. Will it start, will it 00:12:27.44\00:12:32.11 start and he pulled it, Froom, putt, putt, putt, putt. They 00:12:32.15\00:12:36.65 were so happy you know. They would never let one little bit 00:12:36.69\00:12:43.49 that had a burn mark. Somebody tried to paint it. No, we must 00:12:43.53\00:12:46.90 leave it there because that's the only part of the Portal that 00:12:46.93\00:12:50.90 ever got burned. And Jesus had marks on His hands after he was 00:12:50.93\00:12:54.67 crucified and he will have those marks there forever and we want 00:12:54.70\00:12:58.57 that mark on the Portal forever because it is a sign that God 00:12:58.61\00:13:02.84 saved the boat. And that's the story of the Portal. Thank you 00:13:02.88\00:13:07.08 boys and girls. 00:13:07.12\00:13:09.28 All right boys and girls. Welcome to our Bible 00:13:09.35\00:13:11.85 study. If you haven't got your Bibles ready yet go get them now 00:13:11.92\00:13:14.96 so you can follow along with us. Anna, can you please say a 00:13:14.99\00:13:17.99 prayer to open our Bible study time? 00:13:18.03\00:13:20.23 Yes. Dear Father, thank you for our Bibles. Help us to learn 00:13:20.26\00:13:24.20 more about you today. Please be with the children watching at 00:13:24.23\00:13:28.10 home. In Jesus' name. Amen. 00:13:28.14\00:13:31.84 Amen. Thanks Anna. Now Kate who was it that we studied about 00:13:31.87\00:13:34.48 last Sabbath. Gideon. Gideon, yes. It was an interesting story 00:13:34.54\00:13:37.11 wasn't it. And did God use Gideon to help the Israelites 00:13:37.15\00:13:40.75 win the battle. Yes. He did didn't he? Okay, now we're going 00:13:40.78\00:13:45.95 study about another judge today and his name was Samson. And 00:13:45.99\00:13:51.16 Anna I'd like you to start with reading Judges 13:1-3. 00:13:51.19\00:13:54.36 Again the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord 00:13:54.40\00:13:58.40 and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for 00:13:58.43\00:14:02.40 forty years. Now there was a certain man from Zorah of the 00:14:02.44\00:14:09.18 family of the Danites whose name was Manoah and his wife was 00:14:09.21\00:14:13.38 barren and had no children. And the angel of the Lord appeared 00:14:13.42\00:14:17.85 to the woman and said to her. Indeed, now you are barren and 00:14:17.89\00:14:21.79 have born no children but you shall conceive and bear a son. 00:14:21.82\00:14:25.66 Thanks Anna. So God was going to raise up another deliverer 00:14:25.69\00:14:29.90 through Manoah and his wife who had not been able to have 00:14:29.93\00:14:34.04 children. But an Angel visited Manoah's wife and tells her that 00:14:34.10\00:14:38.21 she is now going to have a baby boy. Okay Matthew, let's read 00:14:38.24\00:14:42.34 Judges 13:4-5. 00:14:42.38\00:14:43.71 Now, therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or 00:14:43.75\00:14:47.78 similar drink and not to eat anything unclean. For behold, 00:14:47.82\00:14:51.95 you shall conceive and bear a son and no razor shall come upon 00:14:51.99\00:14:56.32 his head. The child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb 00:14:56.36\00:15:00.13 and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the 00:15:00.16\00:15:03.90 Philistines. 00:15:03.93\00:15:05.27 Wow. Thanks Matthew. So God had some special plans for this baby 00:15:05.30\00:15:08.90 just like He has some special plans for you too. But this 00:15:08.94\00:15:13.14 baby was to born a Nazarite who was to live a life dedicated to 00:15:13.17\00:15:17.95 God. We just read that Manoah's wife was not to drink any wine 00:15:17.98\00:15:22.72 or eat anything unclean during her pregnancy. Another 00:15:22.75\00:15:25.45 interesting thing we just read that after the baby was born, 00:15:25.49\00:15:29.86 they were never to cut his hair. Now Bethany, can you please read 00:15:29.89\00:15:32.96 Judges 13:24-25. 00:15:32.99\00:15:36.33 So the woman bore a son and called his name Samson and the 00:15:36.36\00:15:40.44 child grew and the Lord blessed him. And the Spirit of the Lord 00:15:40.47\00:15:44.11 began to move upon him at Mahaneh Dan between Zorah and 00:15:44.14\00:15:48.51 Eshtaol. 00:15:48.54\00:15:49.88 Mmm. So God was preparing Samson for a work He wanted 00:15:49.91\00:15:53.62 him to do. Kate can you please read Judges 14:1-3. 00:15:53.65\00:15:57.52 Now Samson went down Timnah and saw a woman in Timnah of the 00:15:57.55\00:16:02.96 daughters of the Philistines. So he went up and told his 00:16:02.99\00:16:08.33 father and mother saying, I have seen a woman in Timnah of the 00:16:08.36\00:16:11.63 daughters of the Philistines. Now therefore get her for me 00:16:11.67\00:16:15.87 as a wife. Then his father and mother said to him, is there no 00:16:15.90\00:16:20.48 woman among the daughters of your brethren or among all my 00:16:20.51\00:16:25.15 people that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised 00:16:25.18\00:16:29.25 Philistines. And Samson said to his father get her for me for 00:16:29.28\00:16:33.32 me for she pleases me well. 00:16:33.36\00:16:35.52 Mmm. So Samson wants to marry a woman from the Philistines who 00:16:35.59\00:16:39.36 were actually the Israelites enemies. Samson's parents try 00:16:39.39\00:16:42.96 and persuade him to marry of the Israelites girls but Samson 00:16:43.00\00:16:46.30 chooses to ignore their advice. Let's continue to see what 00:16:46.33\00:16:49.57 happens. Caleb, can you please read Judges 14:5-6. 00:16:49.60\00:16:54.41 So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother and 00:16:54.44\00:17:00.82 came to the vineyards of Timnah. Now to his surprise a young lion 00:17:00.88\00:17:05.02 came roaring against him and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily 00:17:05.05\00:17:09.16 upon him and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn 00:17:09.19\00:17:13.56 apart a young goat though he had nothing in his hand, but he 00:17:13.60\00:17:17.90 did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. 00:17:17.93\00:17:21.34 Thanks Caleb. So imagine killing a lion with your bare 00:17:21.37\00:17:24.71 hands. One of Samson's gifts from God was his mighty strength 00:17:24.77\00:17:29.31 God was going to use this to deliver the Israelites from 00:17:29.34\00:17:33.68 their enemies. Now J J can you please read Judges 14:7-9. 00:17:33.72\00:17:38.15 Yes. Then he went down and talked with the woman and she 00:17:38.22\00:17:42.62 pleased Samson well. After some time when he returned to get 00:17:42.66\00:17:48.30 her he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion and behold a 00:17:48.33\00:17:54.27 swarm of bees and honey were in the carcass of the lion. He 00:17:54.30\00:17:59.34 took some of it in his hands and went along eating. 00:17:59.37\00:18:04.35 When he came to his father and mother he gave some to them and 00:18:04.38\00:18:10.29 they also ate, but he did not tell them that he had taken the 00:18:10.32\00:18:16.22 honey out of the carcass of the lion. 00:18:16.26\00:18:18.29 Thanks J J. So Samson found that the bees had made a hive in the 00:18:18.36\00:18:24.30 body of the dead lion that he had killed a little time before. 00:18:24.33\00:18:27.84 Do you know what? He ate some of the honey and he even shared 00:18:27.87\00:18:32.47 with his parents without telling them where it came from. Now 00:18:32.51\00:18:37.08 Numbers 6 tells us that a Nazarite is not to touch 00:18:37.11\00:18:39.85 anything that is dead and Leviticus 11 tells us that a 00:18:39.88\00:18:42.55 lion is actually unclean because it has four paws. So Samson is 00:18:42.58\00:18:47.66 not really living the life that God had intended for him or 00:18:47.72\00:18:52.33 ordained him to live. So if we were to continue reading, the 00:18:52.36\00:18:55.83 wedding feast with this girl that he wanted to marry from 00:18:55.86\00:18:59.97 the Philistines went ahead. But you know what? It ended in 00:19:00.04\00:19:04.37 disaster because his wife betrayed him. Samson took off 00:19:04.41\00:19:08.68 and left his poor wife behind and when he cooled down and he 00:19:08.71\00:19:12.05 came back to get her, his father-in-law had given her 00:19:12.08\00:19:15.85 to another man. And do you think Samson was furious? 00:19:15.88\00:19:19.72 He was. He was very, very angry. Let's see what happens. 00:19:19.75\00:19:23.59 Aunt Cecily can you read Judges 15:4-5. 00:19:23.63\00:19:25.43 Then Samson went and caught 300 foxes and he took torches, 00:19:25.46\00:19:32.20 turned the foxes tail-to-tail and put a torch between each 00:19:32.23\00:19:37.67 pair of tails. When he had set the torches on fire, he let the 00:19:37.71\00:19:42.64 foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines and burnt up 00:19:42.68\00:19:48.65 both the shocks and the standing grain as well as the vineyards 00:19:48.68\00:19:54.62 and olive groves. 00:19:54.66\00:19:56.39 So time went on and Samson fell in love with another Philistine 00:19:56.42\00:20:00.36 girl. Her name was Delilah and the Philistine leaders found out 00:20:00.40\00:20:04.30 about this and approached Delilah. Let's see what happens. 00:20:04.33\00:20:07.90 Matthew can you please read Judges 16:5. 00:20:07.94\00:20:11.57 And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, 00:20:11.61\00:20:16.04 Entice him and find out where his great strength lies and by 00:20:16.08\00:20:20.48 what means we may overpower him that we may bind him to 00:20:20.52\00:20:25.69 afflict him and every one of us will give you eleven hundred 00:20:25.72\00:20:28.92 pieces of silver. 00:20:28.96\00:20:30.29 Mmm. So the Philistines want to get rid of Samson and they knew 00:20:30.33\00:20:35.66 if they could find the source of his strength they could capture 00:20:35.70\00:20:41.70 him. Now Bethany can you read Judges 16:6-9 please. 00:20:41.74\00:20:44.34 So Delilah said to Samson, Please tell me where your great 00:20:44.37\00:20:47.24 strength lies and with what you may be bound to afflict you. 00:20:47.28\00:20:50.61 And Samson said to her, If they bind me with seven fresh bow 00:20:50.65\00:20:54.85 strings not yet dried, then I shall become weak and be like 00:20:54.88\00:20:58.75 any other man. So the lords of the Philistines brought up to 00:20:58.79\00:21:03.02 her seven fresh bowstrings, not yet dried and she bound him with 00:21:03.06\00:21:07.23 them. Now men were lying in wait staying with her in the 00:21:07.26\00:21:13.10 room and she said to him, The Philistines are upon you Samson. 00:21:13.13\00:21:16.54 But he broke the bowstrings as a strand of yarn breaks when it 00:21:16.57\00:21:20.78 touches fire. So the secret of his strength was not yet known. 00:21:20.81\00:21:25.55 So Delilah's trick work? No. You know what? She tried it two 00:21:25.61\00:21:29.62 more times until something happened. Kate can you please 00:21:29.65\00:21:33.62 read Judges 16:15-17. 00:21:33.66\00:21:37.36 Then she said to him, How can you say I love you when your 00:21:37.39\00:21:41.16 heart is not with me. You have mocked me for these three times 00:21:41.20\00:21:45.37 and have not told me where your great strength lies. And it came 00:21:45.40\00:21:49.10 to pass when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed 00:21:49.17\00:21:53.98 him so that his soul was vexed to death. Then he told her all 00:21:54.01\00:21:57.58 his heart and said to her, No razor has ever come upon my 00:21:57.61\00:22:01.68 head for I have been a Nazarite to God from my mother's womb. 00:22:01.72\00:22:05.05 If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me and I shall become 00:22:05.09\00:22:08.39 weak and be like any other man. 00:22:08.42\00:22:11.36 Mmm. So Samson gave in and told Delilah his secret. Now if 00:22:11.39\00:22:16.97 we were to continue reading we, know that Delilah shaved his 00:22:17.00\00:22:21.74 head while Samson slept. His strength left him and the 00:22:21.77\00:22:26.47 Philistines captured him. Do you know? There were actually no 00:22:26.51\00:22:30.81 magic powers in the hair itself but once that last sign as a 00:22:30.85\00:22:35.08 Nazarite had gone God left him. He'd already broken so many 00:22:35.12\00:22:39.72 other vows that this was kind of like the last straw. Caleb 00:22:39.75\00:22:44.29 can you please read Judges 16:21-22 00:22:44.33\00:22:49.43 Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes and brought 00:22:49.46\00:22:54.24 him down to Gaza. There they bound him with bronze fetters 00:22:54.27\00:22:58.91 and he because a grinder in the prison. However, the hair of his 00:22:58.97\00:23:05.15 head began to grow again after it had been shaven. 00:23:05.18\00:23:08.68 Mmm. Thanks Caleb. So Samson ended up a prisoner. Let's have 00:23:08.72\00:23:13.29 a look at Mrs. White's writings in our Torch Light and see what 00:23:13.36\00:23:17.89 they shine on the verses that we just read. 00:23:17.93\00:23:20.33 In suffering and humiliation, a 00:23:20.36\00:23:23.67 sport for the Philistines, Samson learned more of his own 00:23:23.70\00:23:27.64 weakness than he had ever known before and his afflictions led 00:23:27.67\00:23:33.88 him to repentance. As his hair grew, his power gradually 00:23:33.91\00:23:36.71 returned. 00:23:37.81\00:23:39.15 Thanks J J. So God had to humble him in prison and he had to 00:23:39.18\00:23:43.89 learn to rely on God's strength instead of his own physical 00:23:43.92\00:23:48.46 strength. During his prison experience, Samson repented and 00:23:48.49\00:23:51.93 he gave his heart back to God. Let's have a look at our memory 00:23:51.96\00:23:56.97 verse now and go to Isaiah 40:29 and let's read that together. 00:23:57.00\00:24:02.04 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He 00:24:02.07\00:24:07.11 increases strength. 00:24:07.14\00:24:10.31 God is our strength isn't he. So the Philistines decided to have 00:24:10.35\00:24:14.45 a celebration to worship their idol, Dagon, their fish god, and 00:24:14.48\00:24:18.55 called Samson to perform for them. Anna, can you read 00:24:18.59\00:24:20.99 Judges 16:28 and 30 and let's see what happens. 00:24:21.02\00:24:24.13 When Samson called to the Lord saying, Oh Lord God remember me 00:24:24.16\00:24:30.20 I pray. Strengthen me I pray just this once my God that I may 00:24:30.23\00:24:35.37 with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes. 00:24:35.40\00:24:40.48 Then Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines and he 00:24:40.51\00:24:45.71 pushed with all his might and the temple fell on the lords and 00:24:45.75\00:24:48.82 all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at 00:24:48.85\00:24:51.89 his death were more than he had killed in his life. 00:24:51.92\00:24:55.92 Mmm. Wow. Do you know what. God had intended a happy and 00:24:55.96\00:25:00.33 happy and fulfilled life for Samson in serving him and his 00:25:00.40\00:25:04.70 fellow man. But instead because of the way Samson chose to live 00:25:04.73\00:25:10.61 his life, his biggest impact was his death. Do you know what, 00:25:10.64\00:25:14.68 God wants us to give our hearts to Him now so our lives right 00:25:14.74\00:25:18.38 now can be a blessing to others.
