Hello there. Happy Sabbath. 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.47 Come on in. We're about to meet with the King. 00:00:03.50\00:00:06.74 ¤ ¤ 00:00:06.77\00:00:52.75 Hello, I'm Auntie Nat. It's great that you could all join us 00:00:52.78\00:00:55.18 to meet with the King. We're about to open the Sabbath. Come 00:00:55.22\00:00:57.59 and join our worship time 00:00:57.62\00:00:58.95 together. Auntie Cecily it's so 00:00:58.99\00:01:01.09 good that you're here with us today. 00:01:01.12\00:01:02.72 I'm delighted to be here Auntie Nat. 00:01:02.76\00:01:04.29 And hello children. It's wonderful that you're here with 00:01:04.33\00:01:08.00 us to help us welcome in the King for the Sabbath. And hello 00:01:08.03\00:01:11.23 Teddy. It's lovely that you've joined us again today. You're 00:01:11.27\00:01:14.40 so good. 00:01:14.44\00:01:15.77 Yes he is. 00:01:15.80\00:01:17.14 Oh. Auntie Cecily can you say a prayer for us to open our 00:01:17.17\00:01:19.37 worship time. 00:01:19.41\00:01:21.31 Yes. Dear heavenly Father, thank you for keeping us safe through 00:01:21.34\00:01:25.01 another week. And thank you for the Sabbath where we can rest 00:01:25.05\00:01:28.68 in You. And we pray a blessing on all the boys and girls who 00:01:28.72\00:01:32.32 have joined us. In Jesus' name. Amen. 00:01:32.35\00:01:35.92 Amen. Do you know that this is a great time to reflect on our 00:01:35.96\00:01:39.86 week and count the many blessings God has sent us. 00:01:39.89\00:01:42.56 And Ella, you have a blessing to share with us. 00:01:42.63\00:01:45.23 I'm thankful to God that when I broke my arm it didn't break 00:01:45.30\00:01:50.34 severely. 00:01:50.37\00:01:52.87 It didn't break all the way through did it? Yeah, it was a 00:01:52.94\00:01:54.68 greenstick so it healed a lot quicker and you didn't need an 00:01:54.71\00:01:58.18 operation. Yeah so that was a good blessing wasn't it. Okay 00:01:58.21\00:02:01.45 thanks. Auntie Cecily, you have a blessing to share with us too 00:02:01.48\00:02:04.69 about our amazing God. 00:02:04.72\00:02:07.56 Yes. We've been on quite a journey these past 13 Sabbaths 00:02:07.59\00:02:11.63 getting to know who God is. We found out that God is our 00:02:11.66\00:02:16.70 Deliverer. God is holy. God is the I Am. He is compassionate 00:02:16.73\00:02:21.54 or caring and God is love and He is our Provider. And He's a God 00:02:21.57\00:02:26.34 of order and a God of mercy and He's sacrificial. God is 00:02:26.37\00:02:31.28 also our Creator. He's long- suffering and He's trustworthy. 00:02:31.31\00:02:36.22 Today is special because I'm going to add two more. God 00:02:36.25\00:02:42.79 keeps His promises and God can be our very best friend. Later 00:02:42.82\00:02:46.93 on in our study we're going to see how God kept His promise 00:02:46.96\00:02:51.13 to the children of Israel. The Bible tells us that God is 00:02:51.20\00:02:56.44 faithful in keeping His promises We can trust in God's word. 00:02:56.47\00:03:02.08 Matthew 24 tells us that God's words will never pass away. If 00:03:02.11\00:03:07.72 God promises, He will deliver. We've also discovered in 00:03:07.75\00:03:12.12 previous Bible studies that Abraham was a friend of God. 00:03:12.15\00:03:16.46 We've been studying that Moses also had a special relationship 00:03:16.52\00:03:21.06 with God. God spoke to Moses face to face like a friend. 00:03:21.10\00:03:27.14 John 15 tells us that Jesus wants to be our friend as well. 00:03:27.17\00:03:32.37 Jesus promises that if we keep His commandments, He will call 00:03:32.44\00:03:38.05 us His friend. When we get to know God and who He is and what 00:03:38.11\00:03:43.62 He's done for us, it draws us closer to Him. We've learnt many 00:03:43.65\00:03:49.12 things about God but the one thing I want you to remember 00:03:49.16\00:03:53.23 most of all is that God who's the King of the Universe and 00:03:53.26\00:03:57.27 angels worship Him day and night in adoration and praise and it's 00:03:57.30\00:04:03.74 lovely mystery that He also wants to be your best friend. 00:04:03.77\00:04:08.18 Amen. Isn't that a wonderful thing that God can be our best 00:04:08.21\00:04:11.81 friend. Thank you Auntie Cecily for sharing that blessing with 00:04:11.85\00:04:14.75 us. Do you know another way that we can grow closer to God is to 00:04:14.78\00:04:21.76 worship Him in song. And guess what? We've got Pastor Rick here 00:04:21.79\00:04:23.39 again. Thanks Pastor Rick. 00:04:23.43\00:04:25.43 It's terrific to be here, Auntie 00:04:25.46\00:04:28.03 Nat. Welcome children and I'm 00:04:28.06\00:04:30.53 thinking we might sing that song God is My Best Friend. 00:04:30.57\00:04:33.70 Pastor Rick, could we please sing Give Your Heart to Jesus? 00:05:55.55\00:06:00.62 I think this is probably the most beautiful song we can 00:06:00.66\00:06:04.13 sing, don't you think? Yeah. It's a great song. 00:06:04.16\00:06:06.83 Let's sing it again. ¤ ¤ 00:06:42.36\00:06:44.67 Thanks Pastor Rick. We really enjoy your company and your 00:07:24.51\00:07:28.04 music in our worship time. Now Dr. John has another lovely 00:07:28.08\00:07:31.61 blessing to share with us. Let's go and see one more. 00:07:31.65\00:07:36.42 Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond and we are at 00:07:36.45\00:07:40.46 Sunnyside and we're about to leave and to do some exploring 00:07:40.49\00:07:44.43 and we're going to find something very, very interesting 00:07:44.46\00:07:48.36 Just come with me and we'll go looking. ¤ ¤ 00:07:48.40\00:07:56.60 Hello boys and girls. Welcome back. I'm Dr. John and you are 00:07:56.64\00:08:01.21 with me in the Ellen G. White Seventh-day Adventist Research 00:08:01.24\00:08:06.21 Center at Avondale College. And this room has some wonderful 00:08:06.28\00:08:10.95 stuff. There are photos. And in that room there is a copy of 00:08:10.99\00:08:15.79 every letter, every article, every book that she ever wrote. 00:08:15.82\00:08:20.60 Here is a present that was given to Pastor and Mrs. White. 00:08:20.63\00:08:24.47 It is a very old clock and it's so valuable that we don't even 00:08:24.50\00:08:29.07 wind it up. It shows the time, the day of the week, the month 00:08:29.10\00:08:32.97 and the day of the month. And she had a clock a little bit 00:08:33.04\00:08:37.08 like this. The day that she died over in America and when she 00:08:37.11\00:08:41.98 died, she died at 3:40 in the afternoon on Friday, 16th of 00:08:42.05\00:08:47.22 July 1915. And Mary her nurse when she saw that Mrs. White was 00:08:47.26\00:08:52.39 dead she went over and she opened the little door at the 00:08:52.43\00:08:58.47 bottom and she stopped the pendulum and it has never moved 00:08:58.50\00:09:03.41 since then. Almost a hundred years. So we keep this clock 00:09:03.44\00:09:08.28 very, very carefully. Now over here, if you'd like to follow me 00:09:08.31\00:09:14.52 It's not really a little Bible. You couldn't fit it in your 00:09:14.58\00:09:20.76 pocket. In fact, it weighs nearly nine kilograms or 18 00:09:20.79\00:09:26.63 pounds and this is an exact copy of the Bible that Ellen held in 00:09:26.66\00:09:31.23 her hand for 30 minutes. I couldn't hold it in my hand for 00:09:31.27\00:09:35.30 three minutes like that even if you paid me a million dollars. 00:09:35.34\00:09:40.91 Chenae, hold out your arm, just one, underneath. Are you ready. 00:09:40.94\00:09:47.28 Leave the other arm still. It is so heavy. And that is a very 00:09:47.32\00:09:52.55 precious part of the center here. In fact, you're allowed to 00:09:52.59\00:09:56.93 touch it but most of the time nobody is allowed to touch this 00:09:56.96\00:10:01.20 Bible, it is so precious to us. Boys and girls I've got two 00:10:01.23\00:10:05.40 special visitors and they're coming here to meet you. 00:10:05.43\00:10:07.57 If you'd just like to walk over in here. These two people know 00:10:07.64\00:10:12.51 more about Mrs. White I think than anybody in the whole world. 00:10:12.54\00:10:17.38 This is Dr. Skrzypaszek and Mrs. de Berg. 00:10:17.41\00:10:19.38 Hello boys and girls. It's nice 00:10:19.41\00:10:21.65 to have you with us. Let me 00:10:21.68\00:10:23.22 take you inside the heart of the research center and we'll share 00:10:23.25\00:10:28.12 with you some exciting stories and show you some letters 00:10:28.16\00:10:31.99 written by Ellen White and a few other stories. So let's walk in. 00:10:32.03\00:10:38.03 Hello, Ellen White wrote a lot of letters and papers and 00:10:38.07\00:10:43.97 periodicals in her time. She often rose about 3 a. m. and she 00:10:44.01\00:10:48.88 would start writing. This is one of her letters to her children 00:10:48.91\00:10:55.18 written in 1900. She says, Dear children. Now when we open a 00:10:55.22\00:11:00.09 lot of periodicals they're printed in books like this and 00:11:00.12\00:11:04.93 bigger and they take up a lot of room. So they have microfiche 00:11:04.99\00:11:11.37 now and we can fit several volumes on one piece of 00:11:11.40\00:11:15.47 microfiche. See each one of these pages is one page and 00:11:15.50\00:11:19.87 this is microfilm and it's the same; it works the same way. 00:11:19.91\00:11:24.61 See each one of these little slots is one page so you can 00:11:24.65\00:11:29.62 imagine how much room we save by having these sources on 00:11:29.65\00:11:34.36 microfiche and microfilm. So I'm going to hand you over to 00:11:34.39\00:11:39.06 Dr. John now and he has something to show you. 00:11:39.09\00:11:43.90 Well you know it's was very very interesting. Ellen White was a 00:11:43.93\00:11:48.47 very, very special person. She received approximately 2000 00:11:48.50\00:11:52.97 visions from God. And God said to her, Please talk to my people 00:11:53.01\00:11:57.25 And we have all the letters and manuscripts that she wrote 00:11:57.28\00:12:01.42 and some quite interesting. She wrote to her children, to her 00:12:01.45\00:12:04.95 family and to the church people at lunch. One day I was 00:12:04.99\00:12:08.42 sitting in my office and I said to myself I wonder what did she 00:12:08.46\00:12:13.26 say in her last letter to the church written in 1914. Let me 00:12:13.29\00:12:17.20 give you for example. This a letter and she said something 00:12:17.27\00:12:22.14 like this: Be faithful, never doubt in God for He loves you. 00:12:22.17\00:12:28.24 Put your trust and confidence in your heavenly Father. God is 00:12:28.31\00:12:33.45 waiting to show all His blessings. 00:12:33.48\00:12:35.72 It is your privilege to trust in the love of Jesus. 00:12:35.75\00:12:39.99 And you know what I have discovered that she was 00:12:40.02\00:12:43.06 so passionately in love with Jesus that people often heard 00:12:43.09\00:12:47.90 her say, Oh Jesus how I love You Oh Jesus how I love You. 00:12:47.93\00:12:51.90 Well boys and girls and all my friends, boys and girls right 00:12:51.93\00:12:55.94 around the world, today you have visited the Ellen G. White 00:12:55.97\00:13:00.98 Seventh-day Adventist Research Center. The lady who wrote more 00:13:01.01\00:13:05.88 books and more words than any other lady who has ever lived. 00:13:05.91\00:13:10.75 Thank you for coming. 00:13:10.79\00:13:12.25 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. 00:13:12.32\00:13:15.62 I hope you have your Bibles ready to read along with us. 00:13:15.66\00:13:18.96 Come and join us. Nick, can you please say a prayer for us 00:13:18.99\00:13:22.23 before we open our Bible reading? 00:13:22.26\00:13:24.53 Dear Father, We thank you for keeping your promises. Thank you 00:13:24.57\00:13:28.20 for our Bibles and please be with the children today as they 00:13:28.24\00:13:31.87 study Your word. In Jesus' name Amen. 00:13:31.91\00:13:35.14 Amen. Nick, do you remember what we studied about last Sabbath. 00:13:35.21\00:13:39.38 The 12 spies. 00:13:39.41\00:13:40.75 And who were the two spies that were faithful? 00:13:40.78\00:13:43.92 Caleb and Joshua. 00:13:43.95\00:13:45.29 Were the children of Israel allowed to go into the promised 00:13:45.32\00:13:48.39 land? No. No they weren't. They didn't trust God, did they? How 00:13:48.42\00:13:51.29 many years did they have to go back into the wilderness? Forty. 00:13:51.33\00:13:54.86 Forty years. So we're going to begin our study today back at 00:13:54.90\00:13:58.43 the borders of Canaan. The children of Israel had spent 00:13:58.47\00:14:01.64 their time in the wilderness where God had been working on 00:14:01.67\00:14:05.01 their hearts and minds in preparation for them to enter 00:14:05.04\00:14:08.31 the promised land. And Auntie Cecily, I might just get you to 00:14:08.34\00:14:13.11 show the children where Kadesh is. Thank you. And you can see 00:14:13.15\00:14:17.85 the blue circular line where they wandered around for 40 00:14:17.89\00:14:20.92 years. And God, it looks like, is going to take them on a 00:14:20.96\00:14:23.93 different route up into the land of Canaan. You can see the green 00:14:23.99\00:14:27.70 line there and we'll study more about that shortly. Okay, Ella, 00:14:27.73\00:14:31.57 can you please read our first reading for us in Numbers 20:2-6 00:14:31.60\00:14:35.60 Now there was no water for the congregation so they gathered 00:14:35.64\00:14:40.18 together against Moses and Aaron and the people contended with 00:14:40.21\00:14:44.38 Moses and spoke saying, If only we had died when our brothers 00:14:44.41\00:14:50.49 died before the Lord. Why have you brought up the assembly of 00:14:50.52\00:14:55.36 the Lord into the wilderness that we and our animals should 00:14:55.42\00:15:00.73 die here and why have you let us come out of Egypt to bring 00:15:00.80\00:15:05.90 us to this evil place? It is not a place of grain or figs or 00:15:05.93\00:15:11.01 vines or pomegranates nor is there any water to drink. 00:15:11.04\00:15:14.74 So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to 00:15:14.78\00:15:20.25 the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their 00:15:20.28\00:15:25.69 faces and the glory of the Lord appeared to them. 00:15:25.72\00:15:27.52 Thanks Ella. So there is no water and the children of Israel 00:15:27.56\00:15:32.06 are complaining again to Moses and Aaron. And they went into 00:15:32.09\00:15:36.36 the sanctuary to pray to God. Let's see what God tells them. 00:15:36.40\00:15:40.60 Nick can you please read for us Numbers 20:7-12. 00:15:40.64\00:15:45.07 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, take the rod, you and 00:15:45.14\00:15:49.31 your brother Aaron. Gather the congregation together. Speak to 00:15:49.34\00:15:53.52 the Rock before their eyes and it will yield its water. 00:15:53.55\00:15:56.82 Thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give 00:15:56.85\00:16:00.39 a drink to the congregation and their animals. So Moses took 00:16:00.42\00:16:04.56 the rod from before the Lord as He commanded him and Moses and 00:16:04.59\00:16:08.73 Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock. And 00:16:08.76\00:16:13.00 he said to them, Hear now you rebels, must we bring water for 00:16:13.03\00:16:17.81 you out of this rock. Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the 00:16:17.84\00:16:22.58 rock twice with his rod and water came out abundantly and 00:16:22.61\00:16:27.45 the congregation and the animals drank. Then the Lord spoke to 00:16:27.48\00:16:31.09 Moses and Aaron, Because you did not believe Me, you hallowed me 00:16:31.12\00:16:34.72 in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore, you shall 00:16:34.76\00:16:38.39 not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them. 00:16:38.43\00:16:43.13 Wow. So in verse eight God asked Moses to speak to the rock. In 00:16:43.16\00:16:47.64 verse 10, Moses says, Must we bring water for you out of this 00:16:47.67\00:16:52.34 rock. Did they provide the water or did God provide the water? 00:16:52.37\00:16:56.64 God. God, yes God did and in verse 11 Moses struck the rock 00:16:56.71\00:17:00.98 twice. Moses wasn't supposed to strike to rock but speak to it 00:17:01.02\00:17:05.75 like God asked him to. So we read in verse 12 that God tells 00:17:05.82\00:17:10.16 Moses and Aaron because of their sin they were not to lead the 00:17:10.19\00:17:14.50 Israelites into the promised land. That seems a bit harsh 00:17:14.53\00:17:17.77 doesn't it? Moses and Aaron when they are very old men that had 00:17:17.80\00:17:21.60 put up with a lot. The children of Israel had complained and 00:17:21.67\00:17:25.41 rebelled for 40 years. Moses had lost his patience and with anger 00:17:25.44\00:17:29.54 struck the rock. Moses had dishonored God. Moses and Aaron 00:17:29.58\00:17:33.92 repented immediately and God forgave them, but God could not 00:17:33.98\00:17:37.75 take away the consequences of their sin. Let's have a look at 00:17:37.79\00:17:41.49 our Torch Light, Mrs. White's writings, to see what they shine 00:17:41.52\00:17:44.63 on what we've just read. Nick you're going to read that for 00:17:44.66\00:17:47.70 us, thank you. 00:17:47.73\00:17:49.53 But when it was declared that 00:17:49.56\00:17:58.77 because of that one sin Moses and Aaron were not to enter 00:17:58.81\00:18:02.54 Canaan, the people knew that God is no respecter of persons 00:18:02.58\00:18:07.08 and that He will surely punish the transgressor. The fact that 00:18:07.12\00:18:11.52 Moses had enjoyed so great light and knowledge made his sin more 00:18:11.55\00:18:17.56 grievous. Past faithfulness will not atone for one wrong act. 00:18:17.59\00:18:22.76 The greater light and privileges granted to a man, the greater is 00:18:22.80\00:18:27.94 his responsibility. 00:18:27.97\00:18:30.27 Mmm. So that's very sobering. So that is telling us that even 00:18:30.31\00:18:34.68 God's servant Moses who had been so obedient and faithful was not 00:18:34.71\00:18:38.58 immune or had special protection from God from the consequences 00:18:38.61\00:18:42.92 of sin. So God asked Moses to do something. Elijah, can you 00:18:42.95\00:18:47.22 please read Numbers 20:25-29. 00:18:47.26\00:18:50.73 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son and bring them up to Mount Hor 00:18:50.76\00:18:56.77 and strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son 00:18:56.80\00:19:01.74 for Aaron shall be gathered to his people and die there. So 00:19:01.80\00:19:05.97 Moses did just as the Lord commanded and they went up to 00:19:06.01\00:19:10.11 Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. Moses stripped 00:19:10.15\00:19:14.98 Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son and 00:19:15.02\00:19:19.02 Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and 00:19:19.05\00:19:22.59 Eleazar came down from the mountain. Now when all the 00:19:22.62\00:19:26.09 congregation saw that Aaron was dead, all the house of Israel 00:19:26.13\00:19:29.20 mourned for Aaron thirty days. 00:19:29.23\00:19:32.37 So Aaron died. He was 123 years old. His son Eleazar took his 00:19:32.43\00:19:38.27 place as high priest. Moses felt his loss greatly. Aaron had been 00:19:38.31\00:19:43.61 his constant companion for the past 40 years. Moses now leaned 00:19:43.65\00:19:48.92 more heavily on God his best friend. God can become our 00:19:48.98\00:19:53.56 friend too. Let's read our memory verse together. It's in 00:19:53.59\00:19:58.13 John 15:14. Go to that and we'll read that together. 00:19:58.16\00:20:03.93 You ready? 00:20:03.97\00:20:08.80 You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. 00:20:08.84\00:20:14.54 That's an amazing promise isn't it? Okay now we're going to go 00:20:14.58\00:20:18.81 to the book of Deuteronomy. This is the fifth book that Moses 00:20:18.85\00:20:23.79 wrote. Now we're going to go to Deuteronomy 7. We'll go to 00:20:23.82\00:20:28.72 Deuteronomy 7 and Kate you're going to read for us 00:20:28.76\00:20:31.23 Deuteronomy 7:6-8 and 11. 00:20:31.26\00:20:36.73 For you are a holy people to the Lord your God. The Lord your God 00:20:36.77\00:20:41.44 has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure 00:20:41.47\00:20:46.24 above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The Lord did 00:20:46.27\00:20:51.01 not set His love on you nor choose you because you were 00:20:51.05\00:20:56.32 more in number than any other people for you were the least 00:20:56.35\00:21:01.69 of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you and because He 00:21:01.72\00:21:06.49 would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers the Lord 00:21:06.53\00:21:11.23 has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you 00:21:11.27\00:21:14.17 from the house of bondage from the hand of Pharaoh the King of 00:21:14.20\00:21:18.47 Egypt. Therefore, you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, 00:21:18.51\00:21:22.78 and the judgments which I command you today to 00:21:22.81\00:21:26.21 observe them. 00:21:26.25\00:21:27.58 Thanks Kate. So Moses was again reminding them that the children 00:21:27.62\00:21:30.85 of Israel were a special people that God had chosen to reflect 00:21:30.89\00:21:34.89 God's character to all nations and not to forget what God had 00:21:34.92\00:21:38.89 done for them. Okay Ben you're going to read 00:21:38.93\00:21:41.60 Deuteronomy 18:9-14 for us please. 00:21:41.63\00:21:45.77 When you come into the land which the Lord your God is 00:21:45.83\00:21:49.30 giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of 00:21:49.34\00:21:53.11 those nations. They shall not be found among you anyone who makes 00:21:53.14\00:21:56.88 his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who 00:21:56.91\00:22:00.62 practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer or one who interprets 00:22:00.65\00:22:04.29 omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells or a medium or a 00:22:04.35\00:22:09.16 spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these 00:22:09.19\00:22:12.96 things are an abomination to the Lord and because of these 00:22:12.99\00:22:16.67 abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. 00:22:16.70\00:22:21.57 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. For these 00:22:21.60\00:22:25.07 nations which you will dispossess listen to soothsayers 00:22:25.11\00:22:28.44 and diviners but as for you the Lord your God has not appointed 00:22:28.48\00:22:32.11 such for you. 00:22:32.15\00:22:33.72 So these were the things that the people who lived in Canaan 00:22:33.75\00:22:37.52 did. God did not want them to be influenced by it as it was an 00:22:37.55\00:22:41.22 abomination to God. Who do you think was responsible for all 00:22:41.26\00:22:45.26 these activities? Satan. Satan, yes. And they are all a 00:22:45.29\00:22:49.20 counterfeit to God. We're now going to go to the last chapter 00:22:49.23\00:22:53.67 of Deuteronomy, can you find that, chapter 34. So before the 00:22:53.74\00:22:57.44 children went into the promised land God tells Moses to climb 00:22:57.47\00:23:01.21 Mount Nebo. Aunt Cecily I might get you to point out Mount Nebo 00:23:01.24\00:23:06.61 on the map. See it way up there. So God wanted to show Moses the 00:23:06.65\00:23:11.95 land of Canaan laid out before him because Moses could only 00:23:11.99\00:23:16.73 see it from afar. The Lord also reminds Moses the He kept His 00:23:16.76\00:23:21.00 promise of bringing them to the land He had promised Abraham, 00:23:21.03\00:23:24.93 Isaac and Jacob. Ella, you're going to read for us please 00:23:24.97\00:23:28.84 Deuteronomy 34:5-8. 00:23:28.87\00:23:31.97 So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of 00:23:32.01\00:23:35.64 Moab according to the word of the Lord and He buried him in 00:23:35.68\00:23:39.45 the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor, but no one 00:23:39.48\00:23:43.79 knows his grave to this day. Moses was 120 years old when he 00:23:43.82\00:23:49.29 died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. 00:23:49.32\00:23:54.03 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab 00:23:54.06\00:23:58.40 30 days and the days of weeping and mourning for Moses ended. 00:23:58.43\00:24:02.70 Thanks Ella. So Moses was what, how old was he, what did we just 00:24:02.77\00:24:07.38 read? 120. He was 120 years old when he died. The Bible tells us 00:24:07.44\00:24:11.88 that God's angels came down and buried Moses. Mrs. White tells 00:24:11.91\00:24:16.12 us at the bottom of our Remnant Young Scholar Study Bibles that 00:24:16.15\00:24:19.65 Christ came down and raised Moses from the dead and took him 00:24:19.69\00:24:23.29 to heaven. So Moses may not have been able to go into the 00:24:23.32\00:24:26.90 promised land but he went to heaven to be with God his best 00:24:26.93\00:24:31.23 friend forever. Nick, can you please read Deuteronomy 34:10. 00:24:31.27\00:24:36.37 But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like 00:24:36.40\00:24:41.44 Moses whom the Lord knew face to face. 00:24:41.48\00:24:44.08 Thanks Nick. Do you remember our very first memory verse way 00:24:44.11\00:24:48.32 back about the faithfulness of Moses' parents in hiding Moses? 00:24:48.35\00:24:52.52 Do you remember what the Pharaoh wanted to do? Where did 00:24:52.55\00:24:55.16 he want to throw the baby boys? In the river. In the River Nile. 00:24:55.19\00:24:59.79 Do you think the faithfulness of his parents paid off. We just 00:24:59.83\00:25:03.77 read in the Bible that Moses was one of the greatest prophets 00:25:03.80\00:25:08.37 that knew God face to face and his story is here for us to read 00:25:08.40\00:25:12.94 today. We can all learn something from the amazing life 00:25:12.97\00:25:16.85 of Moses. Thank you boys and girls for following along with 00:25:16.88\00:25:20.72 us as we have read from Exodus to Deuteronomy.
