Hello there. Happy Sabbath. 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.03 Come on in. We're about to meet with the King. 00:00:03.06\00:00:05.33 ¤ ¤ 00:00:07.64\00:00:52.51 Hello there. I'm Auntie Cecily. 00:00:52.55\00:00:54.65 We're about to open the Sabbath. 00:00:54.68\00:00:56.62 Come and join us as we meet with 00:00:56.65\00:00:58.49 the King. Hello Auntie Nat. It's good to see you here again too. 00:00:58.52\00:01:02.36 It's great to be here. 00:01:02.39\00:01:04.03 Hello boys and girls. We're glad you're all here to help us to 00:01:04.06\00:01:08.10 meet with the King as well. And hello Teddy. You're looking 00:01:08.13\00:01:12.13 very quiet and ready for a Sabbath day's rest as well. 00:01:12.17\00:01:15.60 Auntie Nat, can you please say a prayer for us to welcome in 00:01:15.64\00:01:20.38 our Sabbath. 00:01:20.41\00:01:22.04 Sure. Dear Lord, we thank and praise Your name for who You 00:01:22.08\00:01:25.71 are and what you've done for us. We thank you for dying on the 00:01:25.75\00:01:29.38 cross for us so that we can be forgiven for our sins when we 00:01:29.42\00:01:32.55 ask. And we just thank you for the beautiful Sabbath where we 00:01:32.59\00:01:35.69 can rest in you. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen. 00:01:35.72\00:01:38.83 Amen. Do you know it's a great time to reflect on our week 00:01:38.86\00:01:43.63 and count the blessings that God has sent us. Sarah, is there 00:01:43.67\00:01:48.40 something that's happened that you can thank God for? 00:01:48.44\00:01:50.81 Yes. Well my dad works in Queens- land and he has to 00:01:50.84\00:01:54.91 travel up there. And there've been lots of things happening in 00:01:54.94\00:01:58.58 the air at the moment with planes and so we were a bit 00:01:58.61\00:02:01.98 worried that when flew up there something could have happened. 00:02:02.02\00:02:05.29 But luckily we got word from him now that he's up there safely 00:02:05.32\00:02:08.09 and we're glad that he's up there safely and God was with 00:02:08.12\00:02:10.13 him. Oh yes that's very good isn't it? Auntie Cecily you have 00:02:10.16\00:02:15.66 a blessing to share with us as well. 00:02:15.70\00:02:18.37 Yes. We've been getting to know who God is over these past weeks 00:02:18.40\00:02:22.97 and we know now that God is our Deliverer and God is holy and 00:02:23.00\00:02:27.54 God is the I Am and God is compassionate and God is our 00:02:27.58\00:02:31.71 Provider and God is Love and God is a God of order and a God 00:02:31.75\00:02:36.42 of mercy and is sacrificial. That's a big word isn't it? 00:02:36.45\00:02:41.09 God's also our Creator and He's long-suffering. Remember we said 00:02:41.12\00:02:45.09 long-suffering means that He's patient. So now I 'm going to 00:02:45.16\00:02:50.00 add one more. God is trustworthy Later on in our Bible study 00:02:50.03\00:02:54.54 we're going to learn how the children of Israel lost their 00:02:54.57\00:02:58.77 trust in God. God had spent all this time, up until now in our 00:02:58.81\00:03:02.98 studies, building up the Israelites trust in Him. He 00:03:03.04\00:03:06.92 brought them out of Egypt and through the Red Sea and He gave 00:03:06.95\00:03:11.32 them victory over the Egyptians and He provided them food to eat 00:03:11.35\00:03:15.72 and water to drink and He protected them. And He showed 00:03:15.76\00:03:19.53 up in great glory on Mount Sinai and He spoke the 10 commandments 00:03:19.56\00:03:24.53 to them. And He dwelt among them in the sanctuary. But their 00:03:24.57\00:03:29.27 trust crumbled in God when they had to make a big decision. They 00:03:29.30\00:03:34.58 forgot who God was, and Proverbs tells us trust in God and not to 00:03:34.61\00:03:39.91 lean to our own understanding. That's what happened to the 00:03:39.95\00:03:44.09 children of Israel time and time again. They made choices in what 00:03:44.12\00:03:49.52 they thought was right instead of trusting God. As humans we 00:03:49.59\00:03:53.60 can get ourselves into a bit of a pickle when we don't trust God 00:03:53.63\00:03:57.63 can't we? So let's remember God is trustworthy. 00:03:57.67\00:04:01.20 Amen. Thank you Auntie Cecily. Do you know another way that we 00:04:01.27\00:04:05.71 can worship God on the Sabbath is through song, and guess what? 00:04:05.74\00:04:10.18 We have Pastor Rick here again. Thanks Pastor Rick. 00:04:10.21\00:04:12.78 Hi Auntie Nat. Hello children. 00:04:12.81\00:04:15.92 Let's sing In My Heart There Rings a Melody. 00:04:15.95\00:04:18.92 Pastor Rick can we please sing I Have Decided to Follow Jesus? 00:05:27.69\00:05:33.36 Yes, we can. 00:05:33.40\00:05:37.20 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's lovely to praise God in song. Now it's 00:06:20.68\00:06:26.75 time to see what blessing Dr. John has got for us this week. 00:06:26.82\00:06:30.25 Let's go and have a look at that shall we? 00:06:30.29\00:06:32.52 ¤ ¤Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond and welcome 00:06:32.55\00:06:41.20 to Sunnyside, the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen G. White. 00:06:41.23\00:06:45.17 I have some interesting stories for you. Just come inside with 00:06:45.23\00:06:49.87 me. You're going to like this. 00:06:49.90\00:06:54.34 Hello boys and girls. Welcome back to Sunnyside. The house has 00:06:54.38\00:06:57.81 so many memories. I've got some interesting things to show you. 00:06:57.85\00:07:02.92 In fact, I think we'll start at the kitchen. Come with me. ¤ ¤ 00:07:02.95\00:07:08.02 Boys and girls this is the kitchen. This is where all the 00:07:08.06\00:07:18.03 action was in the house, after the workroom. Where's the stove? 00:07:18.07\00:07:22.60 No stove because houses used to burn down. The cook house 00:07:22.64\00:07:27.01 was outside. The washing machine? Well that is the 00:07:27.04\00:07:30.88 washing machine there; you rubbed your clothes on that. 00:07:30.91\00:07:33.48 You always had a kettle going on a little stove and that was 00:07:33.52\00:07:37.62 in the next room. But there was a secret room in this house 00:07:37.65\00:07:40.99 and some people aren't sure whether it was Ellen White's 00:07:41.02\00:07:45.33 prayer room. But many people want to come and pray in Ellen 00:07:45.36\00:07:49.20 White's prayer room. Did you know it existed? Come over here 00:07:49.23\00:07:54.60 and I'll show you. ¤ ¤ If you'd like to come and have a look. 00:07:54.64\00:08:00.81 Isn't that a cozy little room to come and say your prayers. 00:08:00.84\00:08:05.68 And even now people say, Can we go into the secret prayer room 00:08:05.71\00:08:09.95 even though we're not sure that it was Ellen White's prayer room 00:08:09.98\00:08:13.79 it's still is a lovely room to visit and to pray. Now if you 00:08:13.82\00:08:17.56 come with me we're going to have a look at the room next door. ¤ 00:08:17.59\00:08:22.86 ¤ Children, welcome to the happiest room in the whole 00:08:22.90\00:08:29.87 house. This is the dining room. This is where people sat and ate 00:08:29.90\00:08:34.44 and laughed and prayed and I don't think Ellen had many meals 00:08:34.48\00:08:38.68 on her own. She always had visitors plus the kids just like 00:08:38.71\00:08:42.45 you. Now Ella I'm wondering whether you could be my guest. 00:08:42.48\00:08:46.32 This table is rather expensive now even though it's very old. 00:08:46.35\00:08:50.76 Have a seat and I'll put the seat in like a gentleman. Now 00:08:50.79\00:08:55.70 have we got. Would you like some crocodile soup? No I think 00:08:55.73\00:09:00.60 the soup was probably lentil with onion and a bit of 00:09:00.64\00:09:04.64 of potato. Wouldn't that be beautiful. Which was the soup 00:09:04.67\00:09:08.81 spoon? That one. And what's the main course? Probably patties 00:09:08.84\00:09:13.88 and corn and beans and peas, all the things that they grew here. 00:09:13.92\00:09:18.89 And so many people who are now dead but they all remembered 00:09:18.92\00:09:22.29 that Ellen White was a wonderful hostess and always 00:09:22.32\00:09:26.19 had people sitting at her table. And now we're going to finish 00:09:26.23\00:09:30.13 off by walking around the outside of Sunnyside. There's 00:09:30.17\00:09:33.90 some very interesting things to see. Follow me. ¤ ¤ Well boys 00:09:33.94\00:09:42.01 and girls, welcome to the South Sea Islands Museum, very 00:09:42.04\00:09:46.51 interesting. We'll show you some time. But this is an historic 00:09:46.55\00:09:50.59 spot because Ellen White would write inside, but sometimes on a 00:09:50.62\00:09:54.32 lovely sunny day she would come out here with a chair and a 00:09:54.36\00:09:58.19 writing board and she would write, not under this tree but 00:09:58.23\00:10:02.16 maybe this tree's grandson because the original pine tree 00:10:02.20\00:10:07.14 had gone and she wrote one of her most important books apart 00:10:07.17\00:10:11.71 from the Bible probably more people have been won to Jesus 00:10:11.74\00:10:16.34 by reading the Desire of Ages. It is just a fabulous book. And 00:10:16.38\00:10:20.82 she sat here and she wrote a large portion of it here. Now I 00:10:20.85\00:10:25.52 want you to come with me ¤ ¤ Boys and girls we have arrived 00:10:25.55\00:10:30.19 at the back and this is the well or the cistern. They had a lot 00:10:30.23\00:10:34.96 of water problems here and they dug this over 90 years ago. You 00:10:35.00\00:10:38.93 can't fall down there because they've sealed it off. We don't 00:10:38.97\00:10:42.80 to lose any visitors here, but this was a very important part. 00:10:42.84\00:10:46.47 Somebody would come out that door several times a day just to 00:10:46.51\00:10:50.25 fill up the bucket. No taps to turn on. But come with me and 00:10:50.28\00:10:54.45 I'll show you where the bake house was. It's over here. ¤ ¤ 00:10:54.48\00:10:58.45 Boys and girls, we're at the very back of the back yard of 00:10:58.52\00:11:02.66 Sunnyside and this is where they did their cooking. Right away 00:11:02.69\00:11:06.06 so the house wouldn't burn on fire. Which would you prefer? 00:11:06.09\00:11:09.46 To slave away in the bake house or be the person to go out in 00:11:09.50\00:11:12.83 the street and get the ice and the cool water. I think you 00:11:12.87\00:11:15.57 would have gone for the water. This would have been very, very 00:11:15.60\00:11:19.01 hot on a summer's day like this, but this is where they did all 00:11:19.04\00:11:23.55 their cooking. Life was a lot different 100 years ago here at 00:11:23.58\00:11:27.58 Sunnyside. I hope you've enjoyed your tour of Sunnyside. I'd love 00:11:27.62\00:11:31.15 you to come back. And come and visit the museum as well. It's 00:11:31.19\00:11:34.69 been such a wonderful time. Thank you boys and girls. 00:11:34.72\00:11:36.86 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. Have 00:11:36.89\00:11:41.46 you got your Bibles ready? I hope you have because you can 00:11:41.50\00:11:44.73 read along with us. Aunt Cecily can you please say a prayer for 00:11:44.77\00:11:48.34 us to open our Bible study. 00:11:48.37\00:11:50.77 Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of our Bibles. We just 00:11:50.81\00:11:55.24 pray that You would be with us as we study our Bibles and we 00:11:55.28\00:11:59.78 just ask a blessing on the boys and girls that they might learn 00:11:59.81\00:12:04.32 and understand and love to follow your word. 00:12:04.35\00:12:06.89 In Jesus' name. Amen. 00:12:06.92\00:12:09.36 Amen. Now do you remember last Sabbath we spoke a lot about 00:12:09.39\00:12:12.79 how the Israelites complained a lot and the consequences that 00:12:12.83\00:12:16.16 happened because of that. And we learned that we need to trust 00:12:16.20\00:12:19.77 God more, didn't we? Mmm. God knows best. Okay. So the 00:12:19.80\00:12:24.01 the children of Israel had now come to the border of the 00:12:24.04\00:12:28.44 promised land at a place called Kadesh in the wilderness of 00:12:28.48\00:12:32.41 Paran. And Auntie Cecily is just going to point to that area on 00:12:32.48\00:12:36.38 map. And Ella you're going to be the first to read in 00:12:36.45\00:12:39.79 Numbers 13:1-2 please. 00:12:39.82\00:12:45.06 And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, send men to spy out the 00:12:45.09\00:12:48.66 land of Canaan which I have given to the children of Israel. 00:12:48.70\00:12:53.10 From each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, 00:12:53.13\00:12:57.51 everyone a leader among them. 00:12:57.54\00:12:58.87 So God wants Moses to send 12 spies out into the land of 00:12:58.91\00:13:02.94 Canaan. Nick, can you please read for us Numbers 13:17-20. 00:13:02.98\00:13:08.28 Then Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan and said to 00:13:08.32\00:13:12.85 them, Go up this way and to the south and go up to the mountains 00:13:12.89\00:13:17.39 and see what the land is like, whether the people who dwell 00:13:17.43\00:13:22.33 in it are strong or weak, few or many; whether the land they 00:13:22.36\00:13:27.24 dwell in is good or bad; whether the cities they inhabit are like 00:13:27.27\00:13:31.21 camps or strongholds; whether the land is rich or poor and 00:13:31.24\00:13:37.05 whether there are forests or not. Be of good courage and 00:13:37.08\00:13:42.78 bring some fruit out of the land Now the time was the season of 00:13:42.82\00:13:46.45 the first ripe grapes. 00:13:46.52\00:13:47.92 So Moses wants to find out as much as possible about the land 00:13:47.96\00:13:53.60 before they go in. Elijah, can you read Numbers 13:23 and 25 00:13:53.66\00:13:59.27 please. 00:13:59.30\00:14:01.94 Then they came to the Valley of Eshcol and there cut down a 00:14:01.97\00:14:05.74 branch with one cluster of grapes. They carried it between 00:14:05.77\00:14:09.44 two of them on a pole. They also brought some of the pomegranates 00:14:09.48\00:14:13.42 and figs and they returned from spying out the land after 00:14:13.45\00:14:17.39 forty days. 00:14:17.42\00:14:19.32 Wow. So we just read they brought back a cluster of grapes 00:14:19.35\00:14:23.26 held between two men. Auntie Cecily's got a picture there to 00:14:23.29\00:14:27.20 show you what they may have looked like. We know that a 00:14:27.23\00:14:31.63 normal bunch of grapes like we buy in the supermarket today, 00:14:31.67\00:14:34.14 you can see them on the table and they're normally very small 00:14:34.17\00:14:38.31 aren't they. But this was really big. It was pretty amazing. The 00:14:38.34\00:14:42.28 spies told them that the land of Canaan flowed with milk and 00:14:42.31\00:14:46.61 honey which means the land was very productive and fertile. 00:14:46.65\00:14:50.15 Let's see what else they have to report. Kate can you please 00:14:50.19\00:14:53.69 read for us Numbers 13:28-32. 00:14:53.72\00:14:57.49 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong, 00:14:57.53\00:15:02.00 the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover we saw the 00:15:02.03\00:15:06.97 descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of 00:15:07.00\00:15:11.87 the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites and the Amorites dwell 00:15:11.91\00:15:16.75 in the mountains and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and 00:15:16.78\00:15:20.15 on the banks of the Jordan. Then Caleb quieted the people before 00:15:20.18\00:15:25.75 Moses and said, Let us go up at once and take possession for we 00:15:25.79\00:15:31.29 are well able to overcome it. But the men who had gone out 00:15:31.36\00:15:34.90 with him said, We are not able to go up against the people for 00:15:34.93\00:15:38.80 they are stronger than we and they gave the children of Israel 00:15:38.83\00:15:42.70 a bad report of the land which they had spied out saying, The 00:15:42.74\00:15:46.14 land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours 00:15:46.17\00:15:50.35 its inhabitants and all the people whom we saw in it are men 00:15:50.38\00:15:54.52 of great stature. 00:15:54.55\00:15:56.35 Thanks Kate. 00:15:56.38\00:15:57.72 So Caleb trusted God and had confidence that He would help 00:15:58.75\00:16:02.79 them to come into possession of the land. But the other spies, 00:16:02.82\00:16:06.09 what sort of report did they give? Bad report. Bad report 00:16:06.13\00:16:09.93 saying the land was full of fortified cities and giants that 00:16:09.96\00:16:13.90 would devour them. So let's see what happens next. Dean, can you 00:16:13.94\00:16:17.87 read for us Numbers 14:1-2 and 4-5, please. 00:16:17.91\00:16:22.11 So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried and 00:16:22.14\00:16:29.82 the people wept that night and all the children of Israel 00:16:29.85\00:16:31.95 complained against Moses and Aaron and the whole congregation 00:16:31.99\00:16:35.89 said to them, If only we had died in the land of Egypt or if 00:16:35.92\00:16:40.36 only we had died in this wilderness. So they said to one 00:16:40.40\00:16:44.73 another, Let us elect a leader and return to Egypt. Then Moses 00:16:44.80\00:16:49.37 and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the 00:16:49.40\00:16:53.98 congregation of the children of Israel. 00:16:54.01\00:16:57.18 So sad story; the children lost their trust and faith in God and 00:16:57.21\00:17:01.28 they started complaining again against the leadership of Moses 00:17:01.35\00:17:06.05 and Aaron. Anna you have our next reading: Numbers 14:6-10 00:17:06.09\00:17:10.76 please. 00:17:10.79\00:17:12.29 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh who 00:17:12.36\00:17:18.27 were among those who had spied out the land tore their clothes 00:17:18.33\00:17:24.21 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of 00:17:24.27\00:17:29.44 Israel saying, The land we have passed through to spy is an 00:17:29.48\00:17:35.98 exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us then He will 00:17:36.02\00:17:39.92 bring us into the land and give it to us, a land which flows 00:17:39.95\00:17:44.96 with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord nor fear 00:17:44.99\00:17:49.53 the people of the land for they are our bread; their protection 00:17:49.56\00:17:54.74 has departed from them and the Lord is with us. Do not fear 00:17:54.77\00:17:59.94 them. And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. 00:17:59.97\00:18:05.11 Now the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of 00:18:05.15\00:18:10.12 meeting before all the children of Israel. 00:18:10.15\00:18:15.09 Thanks Anna. So Joshua and Caleb were the only two spies out of 00:18:15.12\00:18:19.49 12 that stood firm with their faithful report. They believed 00:18:19.53\00:18:24.23 and trust that God would deliver them. Now we read in verse 10 00:18:24.27\00:18:28.57 that the people went up to stone Joshua and Caleb because they 00:18:28.60\00:18:33.44 were so angry with them for being faithful. But God showed 00:18:33.48\00:18:37.98 up with His glory and power through a flaming light in the 00:18:38.01\00:18:41.48 sanctuary. The people who were about to stone them ran away 00:18:41.52\00:18:45.49 and Joshua and Caleb were saved by God. Let's look at our Torch 00:18:45.52\00:18:48.92 Light, Mrs. White's writings, to see what they shine on these 00:18:48.99\00:18:52.39 verses that we have read. Ella you're going to read our Torch 00:18:52.43\00:18:55.83 Light today. Can you do that for us please. 00:18:55.86\00:19:00.97 The people did not wait to 00:19:01.00\00:19:04.27 reflect. They did not reason 00:19:04.31\00:19:07.48 that He who had brought them thus far would certainly give 00:19:07.51\00:19:10.45 them the land. They did not call to mind how wonderfully God had 00:19:10.48\00:19:14.32 delivered them from their oppressors cutting a path 00:19:14.35\00:19:17.82 through the sea and destroying the pursuing hosts of Pharaoh. 00:19:17.85\00:19:21.42 They left God out of the question and acted as though 00:19:21.46\00:19:25.16 they must depend solely on the powers of arms. In their 00:19:25.19\00:19:28.86 unbelief they limited the power of God. 00:19:28.90\00:19:31.30 Wow. That is such an important lesson for us to learn from the 00:19:31.33\00:19:35.60 children of Israel that we should not lose our trust and 00:19:35.64\00:19:39.11 faith in God no matter what is going on. Let's read our memory 00:19:39.17\00:19:42.94 verse together. And that's found in Isaiah 26:4. 00:19:42.98\00:19:48.08 Isaiah 26:4. You ready? 00:19:48.12\00:19:51.99 Trust in the Lord forever. 00:19:52.02\00:19:55.82 Okay, let's see what happens next. Aunt Cecily can you please 00:19:55.86\00:20:01.06 read Numbers 14:11-12. 00:20:01.10\00:20:04.03 Then the Lord said to Moses, How long will these people reject Me 00:20:04.07\00:20:10.87 and how long will they not believe me with all the signs 00:20:10.91\00:20:15.74 which I have performed among them. I will strike them with 00:20:15.78\00:20:20.35 the pestilence and disinherit them and I will make of you a 00:20:20.38\00:20:24.95 nation greater and mightier than they. 00:20:24.99\00:20:32.63 So God is not happy. He wants to disinherit the Israelites. Oh 00:20:32.66\00:20:35.06 dear. Doesn't sound too good does it. Let's see what Moses 00:20:35.10\00:20:38.57 does. Nick, can you please read for us Numbers 14:19-20. 00:20:38.60\00:20:43.41 Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the 00:20:43.44\00:20:47.64 greatness of Your mercy just as you have forgiven this people 00:20:47.71\00:20:52.45 from Egypt even until now. Then the Lord said, I have pardoned 00:20:52.48\00:20:57.19 according to your word. 00:20:57.22\00:20:58.55 So Moses interceded again for the children of Israel and God 00:20:58.59\00:21:03.99 forgave them. God is so good. But there were some consequences 00:21:04.03\00:21:09.76 to their rebellion. Elijah, can you please read Numbers 14:29-31 00:21:09.80\00:21:15.10 The carcasses of you who have complained against me shall fall 00:21:15.14\00:21:19.77 in this wilderness. All of you who were numbered according to 00:21:19.81\00:21:24.61 your entire number from 20 years old and above, except for Caleb 00:21:24.65\00:21:30.52 the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no 00:21:30.55\00:21:34.96 means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in. 00:21:34.99\00:21:39.59 But your little ones whom you said would be victims, I will 00:21:39.63\00:21:43.70 bring in and they shall know the land which you have despised. 00:21:43.73\00:21:47.77 Okay. Thanks Elijah. Kate can you read for us 00:21:47.80\00:21:52.17 Numbers 14:34-37 please. 00:21:52.21\00:21:55.58 According to the number of the days in which you spied out the 00:21:55.61\00:22:01.12 land, 40 days, for every day you shall bear your guilt one year, 00:22:01.15\00:22:06.69 namely 40 years you shall know my rejection. I, the Lord, have 00:22:06.72\00:22:11.16 spoken this. I will surely do so to all this evil congregation 00:22:11.19\00:22:15.63 who are gathered together against me. In this wilderness 00:22:15.66\00:22:20.44 they shall be consumed and there they shall die. Now the men whom 00:22:20.47\00:22:25.31 Moses sent to spy out the land who returned and made all the 00:22:25.37\00:22:29.24 congregation complain against him by bringing a bad report 00:22:29.28\00:22:33.21 on the land, those very men who brought the evil report about 00:22:33.25\00:22:37.12 the land died by the plague before the Lord. 00:22:37.15\00:22:41.96 Thanks Kate. So God is turning them back into the desert for 00:22:41.99\00:22:45.86 40 years. Everyone above 20 years old will die in the desert 00:22:45.89\00:22:49.66 Only the children below 20 years of age and Joshua and Caleb will 00:22:49.73\00:22:55.20 enter into the promised land. As we read in verse 37, the 00:22:55.24\00:22:59.11 other 10 spies who gave a bad report died of the plague 00:22:59.14\00:23:02.94 because of their unfaithfulness. It's very sobering, isn't it? 00:23:02.98\00:23:06.98 After all this happened God wanted to provide evidence to 00:23:07.02\00:23:10.75 prove to the entire encampment that Aaron was God's chosen 00:23:10.79\00:23:14.49 servant to serve as high priest. God asked Moses to collect a rod 00:23:14.52\00:23:19.13 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel, put their names on them 00:23:19.19\00:23:23.57 and place them in the tabernacle before the Lord. Anna can you 00:23:23.60\00:23:27.97 please read for us Numbers 17:8-10. 00:23:28.00\00:23:31.24 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the 00:23:31.27\00:23:36.48 tabernacle of Witness and behold the rod of Aaron of the house of 00:23:36.54\00:23:41.18 Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms and 00:23:41.22\00:23:45.79 yielded ripe almonds. The Moses brought out all the rods from 00:23:45.82\00:23:50.39 before the Lord to all the children of Israel and they 00:23:50.43\00:23:54.03 looked and each man took his rod. And the Lord said to Moses, 00:23:54.06\00:23:58.97 Bring Aaron's rod back before the testimony to be kept as a 00:23:59.00\00:24:03.27 sign against the rebels that ye may put their complaints away 00:24:03.30\00:24:07.51 from Me lest they die. 00:24:07.54\00:24:09.81 Wow. So Aaron's rod budded as proof that God had ordained 00:24:09.84\00:24:15.15 Aaron to 00:24:15.18\00:24:16.52 the priesthood. In verse 10 it tells us that Aaron's budded rod 00:24:16.55\00:24:19.39 was to go into the Ark of the Covenant. And remember when we 00:24:19.42\00:24:22.22 showed you what was in the Ark of the Covenant, it was the 00:24:22.26\00:24:25.13 10 commandments, the pot of manna and Aaron's budded rod. 00:24:25.16\00:24:28.66 The children of Israel lost sight of God's leading many 00:24:28.70\00:24:32.10 times. They rebelled again and again, but each time Moses 00:24:32.13\00:24:35.47 interceded on their behalf to save them from utter destruction 00:24:35.50\00:24:39.67 despite all their murmuring and complaining God still took care 00:24:39.71\00:24:43.85 of them. Thank you boys and girls for being with us today. 00:24:43.88\00:24:46.61 God loves you so much. Rebelling against God only leads to a lot 00:24:46.65\00:24:50.45 of trouble as we found out in our study today. We need to 00:24:50.49\00:24:54.22 trust God more that He knows best. Joshua and Caleb also made a 00:25:33.23\00:25:37.97 decision to choose God to be their King. Reading our Bibles 00:25:38.00\00:25:42.70 helps us to make the right choices in life and to know 00:25:42.74\00:25:46.81 whom we should serve. The Sabbath's a great time to spend 00:25:46.84\00:25:50.85 in reading our Bibles, but God also wants us to read our Bibles 00:25:50.88\00:25:53.62 every day. Auntie Nat, what are we going to study about in our 00:25:53.65\00:25:59.12 Bibles next Sabbath? 00:25:59.15\00:26:00.49 Yes, next Sabbath is an important one. That's a good one to learn. Auntie Nat, are you ready 00:26:33.96\00:26:37.36 to sing our blessing song.
