Hello Auntie Cecily, welcome. 00:00:59.42\00:01:02.92 Hello Auntie Nat. 00:01:02.96\00:01:04.29 Hello Children. It's great that you could be with us here to 00:01:04.33\00:01:07.36 welcome the King. Auntie Cecily 00:01:10.90\00:01:14.87 would you like to say a prayer please to open our worship time? 00:01:14.97\00:01:18.31 Dear Father thank you for bringing us safely through 00:01:18.34\00:01:21.51 another week. We thank you for the Sabbath and thank you for 00:01:21.54\00:01:25.48 all the girls and boys who are joining us today. In Jesus' name 00:01:25.51\00:01:30.55 Amen. Amen. 00:01:30.59\00:01:31.92 Do you know that this is a great time to reflect on what God has 00:01:31.95\00:01:34.89 done for us this past week. Anna you have a blessing for us. 00:01:34.92\00:01:39.59 Would you like to share that with us? 00:01:39.63\00:01:42.36 Yes. Um, one day we had lost our hymn book and my mommy had 00:01:42.40\00:01:49.07 prayed to God for help that we would find it. And a few weeks 00:01:49.10\00:01:56.54 later Sunny, our dog, was barking in my mom's room and 00:01:56.58\00:02:04.02 we went to see what he was barking at and he was barking at 00:02:04.05\00:02:08.79 our hymn book. 00:02:08.82\00:02:10.16 That's great Anna. Thanks for sharing that blessing with us. 00:02:10.19\00:02:12.53 Auntie Cecily, you have a blessing to share with us as 00:02:12.56\00:02:15.03 well, something about the Sabbath. 00:02:15.06\00:02:16.97 Yes. Remember last time we spoke about how God made the Sabbath 00:02:17.00\00:02:21.47 and how He set aside the seventh day for us as a day of rest so 00:02:21.50\00:02:27.21 we can spend time with Him. Well I want to share with you some 00:02:27.24\00:02:31.45 interesting facts. Do you know that the seventh day of the 00:02:31.48\00:02:35.55 week is actually Saturday and in many different languages around 00:02:35.58\00:02:41.02 the world the word Saturday comes from the word Sabbath? 00:02:41.06\00:02:44.03 Listen to this. This is quite amazing. In the Italian language 00:02:44.06\00:02:50.10 the word for Saturday is Sabato. In the Spanish, Portuguese and 00:02:50.13\00:02:57.04 Philippino languages the word for Saturday is Sabado. In the 00:02:57.07\00:03:03.31 Hungarian language the word for Saturday is Szombat. Here are a 00:03:03.35\00:03:09.95 couple more. In the Czech and Slovenian languages the word for 00:03:09.98\00:03:15.29 Saturday is Soboto. What do you think about that? Think that 00:03:15.32\00:03:20.36 sounds very similar to the word Sabbath. Yes they do don't they? 00:03:20.40\00:03:24.90 I think God is so amazing. He has preserved the word Sabbath 00:03:24.93\00:03:29.74 through the languages around the world to remind us of the 00:03:29.77\00:03:34.14 importance of the Sabbath day. 00:03:34.18\00:03:35.98 Wow! Isn't God good? Thanks Auntie Cecily. Do you know 00:03:36.01\00:03:40.95 another way we can worship God is through song and we have 00:03:40.98\00:03:45.82 Pastor Rick. Hi Pastor Rick, thanks for joining us. 00:03:45.85\00:03:47.69 Hi boys and girls. Let's learn a new song. It's called Remember 00:03:47.72\00:03:51.13 the Sabbath. 00:03:51.16\00:03:52.49 Pastor Rick, can we sing Jesus Loves Me? 00:05:20.72\00:05:23.72 Yeah that's a beautiful song. ._lovely song. 00:05:23.75\00:05:26.86 Pastor Rick could we please sing God Is So Good? 00:06:50.67\00:06:54.34 Oh yes, let's all sing that together. 00:06:54.38\00:06:59.38 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's great to praise God in song. Ben we 00:07:35.18\00:07:39.02 discovered a blessing this week at Sunnyside. Can we share that 00:07:39.05\00:07:41.79 with the children at home. Yes. 00:07:41.82\00:07:44.06 Okay let's have a look at that. 00:07:44.09\00:07:45.53 ¤ ¤ Hello boys and girls. My name is 00:07:45.56\00:07:52.27 Dr. John Hammond. Welcome to the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen 00:07:52.30\00:07:57.17 White. Come with me. I've got some stories to tell you. 00:07:57.21\00:08:01.41 In our last story we were talking about Ellen who was a 00:08:01.44\00:08:13.15 weak little girl and God wanted to use her as a prophet. God 00:08:13.19\00:08:18.73 doesn't use the strongest, He doesn't use the most handsome 00:08:18.76\00:08:24.50 or beautiful. He doesn't use sometimes even the most 00:08:24.53\00:08:29.17 brilliant people. He chooses sometimes the very weak. And you 00:08:29.20\00:08:34.68 know I'll read here in my Bible. He wanted Jeremiah to be a 00:08:34.71\00:08:39.15 prophet and Jeremiah was quite frightened and very nervous. He 00:08:39.18\00:08:47.26 was quite young and he said to God I cannot be a prophet. 00:08:47.29\00:08:50.53 I'm too scared, I'm too small, I'm too weak. I'm too nothing. 00:08:50.56\00:08:55.80 And God said I chose you before I gave you life and before you 00:08:55.83\00:09:02.30 were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nations. I do 00:09:02.34\00:09:07.84 not know how to speak. I'm only a child. And you know, God chose 00:09:07.88\00:09:15.82 weak little Ellen whose face had been disfigured. God wanted her 00:09:15.85\00:09:23.39 and Satan didn't want her and she was so weak. Now I need a 00:09:23.43\00:09:28.46 couple of volunteers. I want to see how strong you are. 00:09:28.50\00:09:31.30 You come then and you come. And you stand over here and 00:09:31.33\00:09:38.44 we're going to just see how strong, because you look very 00:09:38.47\00:09:41.21 strong to me. Now you're left handed. You hold that in your 00:09:41.24\00:09:44.98 right hand and you're right handed. You hold that in your 00:09:45.01\00:09:48.45 left hand and now make your arm completely straight. Hold it up 00:09:48.48\00:09:52.52 and see what it's like. One, two three, four. Your arm's 00:09:52.55\00:09:59.26 quivering, five, six. Oh down you go. I reckon you're very 00:09:59.29\00:10:04.93 strong but you wouldn't want to do that for too long would you? 00:10:04.97\00:10:08.50 You sit down, Chloe. I'm amazed at your strength. And didn't I 00:10:08.54\00:10:14.54 have two lovely strong helpers. I've got here just a little 00:10:14.58\00:10:20.18 Bible. It's not 00:10:20.22\00:10:21.55 exactly a pocket Bible. How'd you like to carry this to 00:10:21.58\00:10:22.92 church every Sabbath. Ellen who was so weak. Ellen was not as 00:10:25.35\00:10:30.93 you were. She couldn't hold this but God gave her a dream, it was 00:10:30.96\00:10:37.07 a vision. And in front of people, four times she did this, 00:10:37.10\00:10:44.64 she picked up a Bible and this Bible here is very, very 00:10:44.67\00:10:51.28 precious because it is an exact copy of the Bible that she 00:10:51.31\00:10:57.22 picked up. She weighed less than 50 kg and she picked this Bible 00:10:57.25\00:11:03.02 up in her weak left hand and straight out. I don't think I 00:11:03.06\00:11:11.10 could do it for very long at all I'm not even going to try 00:11:11.13\00:11:17.24 because this Bible is worth a lot of money. She held it for 00:11:17.27\00:11:22.28 half an hour and some people said ah the devil was helping 00:11:22.31\00:11:27.68 her because a lot of people didn't like Ellen because they 00:11:27.72\00:11:31.72 said the devil was helping her because they were jealous 00:11:31.75\00:11:34.16 that God was using Ellen. And when Ellen was holding out the 00:11:34.19\00:11:40.93 Bible, without looking she opened it and she put her finger 00:11:40.96\00:11:44.87 on a text. She was looking up to God. And when they looked at the 00:11:44.90\00:11:51.67 text it was the exact text that she was quoting. All the texts 00:11:51.71\00:11:56.75 that she was quoting were all about Jesus. Now if the devil 00:11:56.78\00:12:03.59 was with Ellen, she would not be talking about Jesus and she held 00:12:03.62\00:12:10.83 heavy Bibles like this at least four times in her life. The weak 00:12:10.86\00:12:16.97 little Ellen and she worked for God until she was 87 years old. 00:12:17.00\00:12:26.04 And with her weakness she traveled to many, many countries 00:12:26.07\00:12:29.44 and she became a great messenger for God. 00:12:29.48\00:12:33.92 ¤ ¤ Hi Boys and Girls. Happy Sabbath 00:12:33.95\00:12:39.79 Welcome to our Bible study. If you haven't got your Bibles 00:12:39.82\00:12:42.69 ready yet go get them now so you can follow along with us. Auntie 00:12:42.72\00:12:47.73 Cecily, will you say a prayer for us before we open our Bibles 00:12:47.76\00:12:51.53 Dear God, thank you for our Bibles. Please be with us as we 00:12:51.57\00:12:56.50 study your word and please help the boys and girls to understand 00:12:56.54\00:13:01.14 what we read today. We pray in Jesus' name, amen. Amen, Amen. 00:13:01.18\00:13:06.31 Do you remember last Sabbath when we studied the Bible? What 00:13:06.35\00:13:09.48 was it about? God created the world. How many days did it take 00:13:09.52\00:13:14.59 for Him to create the world. Six Six days and what did He do on 00:13:14.62\00:13:17.89 the seventh? Rested. And what was that called? The Sabbath. 00:13:17.93\00:13:22.36 The Sabbath. Wow, so now we're going to look at what Adam and 00:13:22.40\00:13:26.23 Eve did in the Garden. Let's have a look at that. Now 00:13:26.27\00:13:30.04 _ reading. Can you please read Genesis 2:15. 00:13:30.07\00:13:32.74 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of 00:13:32.77\00:13:37.11 Eden to tend and to keep it. 00:13:37.15\00:13:38.88 Wow. So Adam and Eve's job was to look after the garden. Let's 00:13:38.91\00:13:43.99 look at our Torchlight and see what Mrs. White's writing 00:13:44.02\00:13:47.46 shines on that verse. Kate, can you do that for us please. 00:13:47.49\00:13:50.63 Thank you. 00:13:50.66\00:13:51.99 In this garden were trees of every variety, many of them 00:13:52.03\00:13:58.03 laden with fragrant and delicious fruit. There were 00:13:58.07\00:14:02.07 lovely vines growing upright 00:14:02.10\00:14:05.27 presenting a most graceful appearance where the branch 00:14:05.31\00:14:08.84 was drooping under their load of tempting fruit of the richest 00:14:08.88\00:14:12.75 and most varied hues. It was the work of Adam and Eve to train 00:14:12.78\00:14:17.29 the branches of the vine to form bowers thus making for 00:14:17.32\00:14:24.13 themselves a dwelling from living trees covered with 00:14:24.16\00:14:26.80 foliage and fruit. There were most fragrant flowers of every 00:14:26.83\00:14:32.63 hue in rich perfusion. 00:14:32.67\00:14:34.27 Wow. That sounds like a pretty amazing place, doesn't it? 00:14:34.30\00:14:38.94 That sounds like it was pretty beautiful. Do you think Adam and 00:14:38.97\00:14:41.14 Eve were happy in their home? Yeah I think they were How about 00:14:41.18\00:14:47.18 there was no pain, there was no crying, no sadness and 00:14:47.22\00:14:48.55 everything was perfect. There was no sin. And they could talk 00:14:49.78\00:14:53.46 to the angels and to God Himself face to face. That would have 00:14:53.49\00:14:58.53 been pretty amazing; just like you're sitting here with me and 00:14:58.56\00:15:01.60 Auntie Cecily here today. That's how they could talk to God face 00:15:01.63\00:15:05.23 to face. What about the animals? Do you think the animals were 00:15:05.27\00:15:08.37 hurting Adam and Eve? No. No they weren't because the animals 00:15:08.40\00:15:13.11 ate grass; they didn't eat each other. So it would have been a 00:15:13.14\00:15:15.94 very happy place. Okay. So now let's look at our next reading. 00:15:15.98\00:15:20.65 Ella, can you please read our next reading in Genesis 2:9. 00:15:20.68\00:15:24.45 And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that 00:15:24.49\00:15:29.29 is pleasing to the sight and good for food. The Tree of Life 00:15:29.32\00:15:33.56 was also in the midst of the garden and the tree of the 00:15:33.60\00:15:36.77 the knowledge of good and evil. 00:15:36.80\00:15:38.23 Right. Okay so let's read together Genesis 2:16-17. 00:15:38.27\00:15:43.97 This is our memory verse. You got that, where you're book 00:15:44.01\00:15:46.51 marks are. Genesis 2:16-17 And the Lord God commanded the man 00:15:46.54\00:15:50.71 saying, Of every tree of the garden ye may freely eat, but of 00:15:50.75\00:15:56.79 the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for 00:15:56.82\00:16:00.96 in the day that you of it you shall surely die. 00:16:00.99\00:16:05.03 Wow. So they could eat every piece of fruit in that garden 00:16:05.06\00:16:09.70 except from the tree of good and evil. God was testing their 00:16:09.73\00:16:15.10 obedience and faith and love to Him. So one day Adam and Eve 00:16:15.14\00:16:20.81 were working in the garden and Eve wandered away from Adam. 00:16:20.84\00:16:26.58 Now the angels had told Adam and Eve about the story of Satan and 00:16:26.61\00:16:31.45 how he may come into the garden and trick them. So they had 00:16:31.49\00:16:36.59 warned them. But when Eve realized that Adam was not 00:16:36.62\00:16:40.03 beside her she thought ah I'm too wise not to be tricked. I'll 00:16:40.06\00:16:45.50 be okay. What should have she done? Should she gone straight 00:16:45.53\00:16:49.34 back to Adam. Uh-huh. She should have. Oh that was a _. 00:16:49.37\00:16:53.94 She should have thought but Satan had disguised himself as 00:16:53.98\00:16:58.65 a snake or a serpent and where do you think he put himself? 00:16:58.68\00:17:02.52 In the tree. 00:17:02.55\00:17:03.89 In that tree. And do you know what. In the garden of Eden God 00:17:03.92\00:17:09.56 had made snakes into beautiful creatures that could fly in the 00:17:09.59\00:17:15.00 sky. So Satan was like burnished gold and he flew and he was in 00:17:15.03\00:17:20.10 that tree and he was looking beautiful and he had set his 00:17:20.14\00:17:23.61 trap. Do you think that the fruit in that tree was really 00:17:23.64\00:17:28.44 nice and shiny? Yes. They were and that's sometimes what 00:17:28.48\00:17:32.68 seems... Satan can sometimes look a bit shiny and glitzy, but 00:17:32.71\00:17:37.69 is he any good? No. No good at all. So Eve looked onto that 00:17:37.72\00:17:42.62 tree and it all looked beautiful Satan was shiny and glitzy and 00:17:42.66\00:17:48.83 the fruit was glitzy and she was over awed. Do you know what? 00:17:48.86\00:17:54.24 That snake started to talk to Eve. Now do animals talk. No. 00:17:54.27\00:17:58.07 They don't. And this is where Satan had set his trap because 00:17:58.11\00:18:02.08 Eve was so over awed by the sight that she forgot that 00:18:02.11\00:18:07.52 animals didn't talk and she listened to the snake and she 00:18:07.55\00:18:11.02 shouldn't have listened to the snake. Elijah, you're going to 00:18:11.05\00:18:13.89 read Genesis 3:1-6 for us to tell us what happened. 00:18:13.92\00:18:19.43 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field 00:18:19.46\00:18:22.56 which the Lord God had made and he said to the woman, has God 00:18:22.96\00:18:26.43 indeed said you shall not eat of every tree of the garden. And 00:18:26.47\00:18:31.27 the woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit of the 00:18:31.31\00:18:35.34 trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in 00:18:35.38\00:18:37.11 the midst of the garden, God has said, Ye shall not eat it nor 00:18:37.15\00:18:40.78 shall ye touch it lest ye die. And the serpent said to the 00:18:40.82\00:18:44.72 woman, you will not surely die for God knows that in the day 00:18:44.75\00:18:48.46 that ye eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like 00:18:48.49\00:18:51.73 God knowing good and evil. So when the woman saw that the tree 00:18:51.76\00:18:56.30 was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree 00:18:56.33\00:18:59.77 that was able to make one wise, she took of the it's fruit and 00:18:59.80\00:19:03.37 ate. She also gave to her husband with her and he ate. 00:19:03.41\00:19:07.88 Ooh, so did they eat the fruit? Yes. They did. Satan lied to 00:19:07.91\00:19:14.88 Eve and he accused God of lying to Adam and Eve. Does God lie? 00:19:14.92\00:19:19.59 No. No he doesn't. Satan is the liar. And we're going to read on 00:19:19.62\00:19:24.49 Kate, you're going to read Genesis 3:7-8 for us. 00:19:24.53\00:19:29.96 Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they knew that 00:19:30.00\00:19:33.13 they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made 00:19:33.17\00:19:37.57 themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the Lord God 00:19:37.61\00:19:41.68 walking in the garden in the cool of the day and Adam and his 00:19:41.71\00:19:45.51 wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among 00:19:45.55\00:19:49.75 the trees of the garden. 00:19:49.78\00:19:51.12 Mmm. What happened to the light? It's gone. And what was the 00:19:51.15\00:19:57.99 reason that light kept staying on them. They had to be 00:19:58.03\00:20:02.90 obedient. They had to be obedient. So they were 00:20:02.93\00:20:04.27 disobedient and that light left them. So they were really naked 00:20:04.30\00:20:08.10 now and they were hiding in the garden. They hid from God. So 00:20:08.14\00:20:15.54 Ben can you please read Genesis 3:9-13. 00:20:15.58\00:20:18.85 So the Lord called to Adam and said to him, Where are you? 00:20:18.88\00:20:23.69 So he said, I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid 00:20:23.72\00:20:26.89 because I was naked and I hid myself. And He said, who told 00:20:26.92\00:20:31.09 you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree which I 00:20:31.13\00:20:34.56 commanded you that you should not eat. Then the man said, the 00:20:34.60\00:20:37.97 woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and 00:20:38.00\00:20:42.04 I ate. And the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have 00:20:42.07\00:20:46.88 done? The woman said, the serpent deceived me and I ate. 00:20:46.91\00:20:51.75 Mmm. So they were blaming each other isn't it? Can we hide 00:20:51.78\00:20:55.18 anything from God? No. He knows everything. Adam and Eve before 00:20:55.22\00:21:01.69 they sinned man could talk face to face to God. And what's 00:21:01.72\00:21:03.56 happening now? What are they doing? They're hiding from God. 00:21:03.59\00:21:08.16 Because sin has now caused a barrier between them and God. 00:21:08.20\00:21:12.17 They can't see God face to face anymore. That's so sad. Do you 00:21:12.20\00:21:15.80 think God was very sad? He was. He was very sad because he 00:21:15.84\00:21:20.51 couldn't openly commune with Adam and Eve anymore. Now if we 00:21:20.54\00:21:23.65 were to continue reading in verses 14-19 there were some 00:21:23.68\00:21:28.08 serious consequences that happened because Adam and Eve 00:21:28.12\00:21:32.25 sinned. The serpent, he couldn't fly anymore. What happened to 00:21:32.29\00:21:36.59 him? He had to slither on the ground. He wasn't allowed to 00:21:36.62\00:21:40.66 fly. And for Eve there would be much pain for her and for Adam, 00:21:40.70\00:21:45.60 he had to work really hard to now make food, to grow his food. 00:21:45.63\00:21:49.70 Because there were now going to be thorns and thistles. Do you 00:21:49.74\00:21:53.41 think there were thorns and thistles in the garden of Eden? 00:21:53.44\00:21:55.28 No. No there weren't. It was a beautiful place. Auntie Cecily 00:21:55.31\00:21:58.78 you're going to read for us Genesis 3:15 please. And I will 00:21:58.81\00:22:04.52 put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed 00:22:04.55\00:22:08.79 and her seed. He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise 00:22:08.82\00:22:14.00 his heel. 00:22:14.03\00:22:15.36 Mmm. So that tells us that God was going to send us Jesus to 00:22:15.40\00:22:19.00 help us and save us from Satan's grip and destroy him. Wasn't 00:22:19.03\00:22:22.97 that a wonderful thing that God did for us? In the garden of 00:22:23.00\00:22:26.14 Eden He already made a plan to send Jesus. So even though Adam 00:22:26.17\00:22:30.15 and Eve did wrong God still loved them and he was going to 00:22:30.18\00:22:33.85 send Jesus to pay the price for their sin. Sarah, you're going 00:22:33.88\00:22:37.22 read for us Genesis 3:21-24. 00:22:37.25\00:22:41.26 Also for Adam and his wife the 00:22:41.29\00:22:44.16 Lord God made tunics of skin and clothed them. Then the Lord God 00:22:44.19\00:22:49.06 said behold the man has become like one of us to know good and 00:22:49.10\00:22:53.90 evil and now lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree 00:22:53.94\00:22:58.31 of life and eat and live forever Therefore the Lord God sent man 00:22:58.34\00:23:02.54 out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he 00:23:02.58\00:23:06.31 was taken. So He drove out the man and He placed Cherubim at 00:23:06.35\00:23:10.39 east of the garden of Eden and the flaming sword which turned 00:23:10.42\00:23:13.76 every way to guard the way to the tree of life. 00:23:13.79\00:23:16.66 Mmm. So what's happening here? What did God have to do? He had 00:23:16.69\00:23:21.26 to make some clothes for them didn't He. And he had to kill an 00:23:21.30\00:23:25.37 animal to do that. Was there killing in the garden of Eden? 00:23:25.40\00:23:29.37 No. There wasn't was there? But God loved Adam and Eve so much 00:23:29.40\00:23:33.68 He cared for them and He wanted to provide some clothing for 00:23:33.71\00:23:35.91 them so that they would be warm. And what happened? Did they have 00:23:35.94\00:23:39.21 to leave that garden? Yes they did. They had to leave and that 00:23:39.25\00:23:42.55 must have been so sad. Do you know what? Because Jesus came 00:23:42.58\00:23:46.59 and died for our sins, we can have eternal life with Him and 00:23:46.62\00:23:50.63 we can be restored back in that garden with God and talk to Him 00:23:50.66\00:23:54.53 face to face like we are talking now. Isn't it a wonderful thing 00:23:54.56\00:23:57.73 that God did for us to send Jesus to die for us. Yes. Yeah. 00:23:57.77\00:24:01.90 Thank you boys and girls for joining us in reading the Bible. 00:24:01.94\00:24:05.17 Jesus loves you so much that he came to this earth and died 00:24:05.21\00:24:08.98 on the cross for you so you can be restored back to Him.
