Look at the rest 00:00:30.66\00:00:34.72 of verse 24, he gives him 6 things that needed to take 00:00:34.75\00:00:38.51 place in this period of time, and we all wrote them 00:00:38.54\00:00:42.68 down last night, they're all found in verse 24, here they 00:00:42.71\00:00:45.78 are, let's go through them quickly: "to finish" 00:00:45.81\00:00:47.95 "the transgression", "to make an end of sins", " to make" 00:00:47.98\00:00:52.10 "reconciliation for iniquity", "to bring an everlasting" 00:00:52.13\00:00:55.73 "righteousness", "to seal up the vision and the prophecy", 00:00:55.76\00:00:58.42 and "to anoint the Most Holy", that should immediately 00:00:58.45\00:01:03.02 cause us to think, we've already been learning about 00:01:03.05\00:01:05.01 the sanctuary, and there are how many compartments 00:01:05.04\00:01:07.18 in the sanctuary? 3 compartments, what's 00:01:07.21\00:01:09.49 the first? The courtyard, then the Holy 00:01:09.52\00:01:13.06 Place, then the Most Holy Place; so look at that language 00:01:13.09\00:01:16.02 he's used right: "to anoint the Most Holy", that a reference 00:01:16.05\00:01:19.86 to the Most Holy Place of the sanctuary. 00:01:19.89\00:01:23.13 So he says "70 weeks are cut off for your people Daniel, " 00:01:23.16\00:01:25.87 "to accomplish these 6 things that much transpire in this" 00:01:25.90\00:01:30.34 "allotted time. " Now look at the next verse, 00:01:30.37\00:01:33.37 verse 25: "Know, therefore, and understand that from" 00:01:33.40\00:01:40.66 "the command going forth to restore and rebuild Jerusalem" 00:01:40.69\00:01:45.88 "unto Messiah the Prince, will be 7 weeks, and 62 weeks, " 00:01:45.91\00:01:51.20 "the streets shall be built again, and the wall, even in" 00:01:52.46\00:01:54.71 "troublesome times. " Okay, so 62 and 7 is 69, 00:01:54.74\00:02:00.37 so he says "know this, Daniel, 70 weeks are cut off for" 00:02:00.40\00:02:03.56 "your people, and from the going forth of the command to restore" 00:02:03.59\00:02:07.78 "and rebuild Jerusalem until the time that the Messiah" 00:02:07.81\00:02:12.03 "the Prince will come is 69 weeks. Jesus Christ. 00:02:24.49\00:02:28.12 The word "Messiah" comes from the Hebrew "Mashiach", 00:02:28.15\00:02:31.14 which means "the one who is anointed", the Greek word 00:02:31.17\00:02:34.56 "Christ" means "anointed". Keep your finger right here 00:02:34.59\00:02:39.41 in Daniel, and go with me very quickly to Acts 10. 00:02:39.44\00:02:43.89 We eluded to this last night, and I did mention this 00:02:44.16\00:02:47.68 Scripture, but I want you to see it on your own, Acts 10. 00:02:47.71\00:02:53.02 Peter is speaking, he's actually preaching to a group 00:02:56.92\00:02:59.42 of Gentiles, a man by the name of Cornelius, and we pick 00:02:59.45\00:03:02.73 it up in Acts 10:38, make note of this, it is 00:03:02.76\00:03:07.46 in your study guide, Acts 10:38. It says, Peter preaching: 00:03:08.57\00:03:13.70 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit" 00:03:13.73\00:03:23.22 "and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all" 00:03:23.25\00:03:26.94 "who were oppressed by the Devil, and God was with Him. " 00:03:26.97\00:03:29.60 According to Peter, God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit. 00:03:29.63\00:03:35.03 Question: when was Jesus anointed by the Holy Spirit? 00:03:35.07\00:03:39.13 At His baptism, remember? He went down into the muddy 00:03:39.43\00:03:42.63 waters of the River Jordan, He said to His elder cousin, 00:03:42.66\00:03:45.16 John, "John, I need you to baptize Me", "Baptize You? " 00:03:45.19\00:03:47.75 "Are You kidding? I can't even untie Your shoes, or unlatch" 00:03:47.78\00:03:50.38 "Your sandals, I need You to baptize me. " 00:03:50.41\00:03:52.72 "Suffer it to be so for now, for thus it becometh us" 00:03:52.75\00:03:55.33 "to fulfill all righteousness", and he baptized Him, 00:03:55.36\00:03:57.88 and when He came up out of the water there was a voice from 00:03:57.91\00:04:00.16 heaven "Behold My beloved Son in whom I am well please, " 00:04:00.19\00:04:03.23 "hear ye Him. " And then something happened, 00:04:03.26\00:04:06.36 what happened next? There was a dove, what looked 00:04:06.39\00:04:10.77 to be like a dove that descended upon Jesus, and that was 00:04:10.80\00:04:14.23 the Holy Spirit. Peter says that when that 00:04:14.26\00:04:18.04 Holy Spirit fell upon Him, He was anointed with the Spirit. 00:04:18.07\00:04:24.57 How many of you have heard that language before, "anointed"? 00:04:24.60\00:04:28.39 When we anoint most often, what do we use to anoint? 00:04:28.42\00:04:31.95 - [Audience] Oil. - We use oil, that's right, 00:04:31.98\00:04:34.26 but beloved, that oil in the Bible is a symbol of the Holy 00:04:34.29\00:04:37.35 Spirit, I've anointed many people, and we take olive oil, 00:04:37.38\00:04:39.79 we put it on their head, or we put it on their hands, 00:04:39.82\00:04:42.15 but beloved, there's no power in olive oil. 00:04:42.18\00:04:45.62 I mean, sure, there are medicinal properties, 00:04:45.65\00:04:46.99 and there's those kinds of things, but as far as spiritual 00:04:47.02\00:04:50.17 power, there's nothing spiritually powerful about olive 00:04:50.20\00:04:52.56 oil, what it is that it represents the Holy Spirit. 00:04:52.59\00:04:57.27 So when you're anointed with oil, that's a symbol of the Holy 00:04:57.30\00:04:59.77 Spirit, but Jesus was anointed with "the real McCoy" 00:04:59.80\00:05:03.06 at His baptism. I want you to think about 00:05:03.09\00:05:05.45 something: we call Jesus "Jesus Christ", but Jesus Christ 00:05:05.48\00:05:11.02 wasn't His name, that's not the name His mother gave Him. 00:05:11.05\00:05:15.28 Jesus Christ; when we say Jesus Christ what we're 00:05:15.31\00:05:17.62 saying is "Jesus, the anointed", so He would have been 00:05:17.65\00:05:23.62 "Jesus" at the age of 15, the age of 20, He's "Jesus", 00:05:23.65\00:05:27.73 at the age of 21, He's "Jesus", at the age of 25 He's "Jesus", 00:05:27.76\00:05:30.80 until one day He's there at His father's carpenter's bench 00:05:30.83\00:05:33.76 and He knows, He has a sense, because He's been studying 00:05:33.79\00:05:36.08 the prophecies of Daniel, and the Spirit of God says 00:05:36.11\00:05:38.49 "Now is the time... " and He leaves the carpenter's 00:05:38.52\00:05:42.20 bench, and He would have gone down to that river, and He would 00:05:42.23\00:05:44.79 have been anointed, and then He becomes "Jesus Christ", 00:05:44.82\00:05:49.77 "the anointed", the Hebrew word is "Messiah". 00:05:49.84\00:05:53.92 So far so good everyone? " 00:08:01.90\00:08:06.03 When Jesus Christ died on Golgotha's tree, did He die 00:08:07.60\00:08:10.49 for His sins? [Audience] No. 00:08:10.52\00:08:12.85 Who's sins did He die for? [Audience] Ours. 00:08:12.88\00:08:15.48 Our sins, so it says "in the middle of the week the Messiah" 00:08:15.51\00:08:18.24 "would be cut off, but not for Himself. " 00:08:18.27\00:08:21.03 Jesus died on that tree not because He had sinned, 00:08:21.06\00:08:24.46 not because He had transgressed, not because He had any 00:08:24.49\00:08:26.98 iniquity that needed to be taken away, but for our sins, 00:08:27.01\00:08:30.60 our iniquities, and our transgressions. 00:08:30.63\00:08:33.62 So right there it says that He would be baptized after 00:08:33.65\00:08:36.62 the 69 weeks, but then in the middle of the week He'd be 00:08:36.65\00:08:41.03 cut off, but not for Himself. Jesus was baptized in the fall 00:08:41.06\00:08:46.67 of 27 AD. Now follow this through. 00:08:47.43\00:08:53.24 26: "After the 62 weeks Messiah would be cut off, but not" 00:08:53.65\00:08:57.27 "for Himself, and the people of the prince who is to come" 00:08:57.30\00:09:00.20 "shall destroy the city, and the sanctuary, the end of it" 00:09:00.23\00:09:03.37 "shall be with a flood, until the end of the war desolations" 00:09:03.40\00:09:06.88 "are determined. " You're saying "Whoa, you lost" 00:09:06.91\00:09:09.65 "me there. " Don't let me lose you, it's not 00:09:09.68\00:09:12.30 difficult to understand, don't get lost in all of 00:09:12.33\00:09:14.71 the syllables, it's very simple. The middle of the week Messiah 00:09:14.74\00:09:17.46 would be cut off, and then the city would be destroyed. 00:09:17.49\00:09:20.17 Let's say that together: Messiah would be cut off, and then 00:09:20.20\00:09:23.81 the city is destroyed. Get that sequence indelibly 00:09:23.84\00:09:25.73 in your mind; Messiah's cut off and then the city 00:09:25.76\00:09:30.49 is destroyed. Jesus was crucified right on 00:09:55.37\00:09:57.68 time in the spring of 31 AD at the time of the Passover. 00:09:57.71\00:10:02.50 Now you go read, in fact, it's right in your study guide, 00:10:03.77\00:10:06.56 there were many times where the enemies of Jesus tried to lay 00:10:06.59\00:10:10.52 hands on Him to try to do Him harm, and Jesus would slip 00:10:10.55\00:10:13.53 out of their midst supernaturally as the angels 00:10:13.56\00:10:16.08 would carry Him, as the angels would escort Him, and He would 00:10:16.11\00:10:18.71 say very strange things, like this: "My time has not yet" 00:10:18.74\00:10:24.12 "come", yet then one day when He was in Gethsemane praying, 00:10:24.15\00:10:27.79 and that mob came up and Judas betrayed Him with a kiss, 00:10:27.82\00:10:31.25 He willingly allowed Himself to be taken into their hands, 00:10:31.28\00:10:35.89 He willingly allowed Himself to be betrayed, and He said 00:10:35.92\00:10:38.20 "Why do you come to me with sticks and staffs, why do you" 00:10:38.23\00:10:40.68 "come to Me with these things? Wasn't I daily teaching" 00:10:40.71\00:10:43.45 "in your temples? " Jesus on many other occasions 00:10:43.48\00:10:45.96 had escaped, Peter tried to get Him to escape when He cut 00:10:45.99\00:10:48.29 that guy's ear off with the sword, and Jesus said 00:10:48.32\00:10:51.34 "Hey listen, don't you think that right now I could ask" 00:10:51.37\00:10:53.87 "My Father and He would send legion upon legion of angels? " 00:10:53.90\00:10:56.41 Why did Jesus allow Himself to be turned over at that time? 00:10:56.44\00:11:00.55 Because He knew His time had come. 00:11:00.58\00:11:03.75 So look at that: He was baptized in the fall of 27, so 28 is 1, 00:11:06.05\00:11:09.38 29 is 2, 30 is 3, and then you go to the winter, and then 00:11:09.41\00:11:13.89 the spring, that's 3 and a half years, what does the Bible say? 00:11:13.92\00:11:16.95 "... in the middle of the week the Messiah would be cut off, " 00:11:16.98\00:11:22.64 "but not for Himself. " 00:11:23.21\00:11:25.30 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten" 00:11:26.19\00:11:29.47 "Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish" 00:11:29.50\00:11:33.40 "but have everlasting life. Messiah is cut off, the city 00:11:48.37\00:11:52.78 is destroyed; Messiah is cut off the city is destroyed. 00:11:52.81\00:11:56.51 What happened when Jesus died? There was a great earthquake, 00:11:56.54\00:12:01.94 and in the temple the Bible says the veil was torn...you've got 00:12:02.58\00:12:12.83 it, that's exactly right Angelo, from top to bottom. 00:12:12.86\00:12:15.18 Now why from top to bottom? What's the significance there? 00:12:15.21\00:12:17.36 Why is that detail recorded? Think of it this way: 00:12:17.39\00:12:21.99 that curtain was some 30 feet tall, if a man was going to tear 00:12:22.59\00:12:25.50 that temple, he would tear it from bottom to top, but it says 00:12:25.53\00:12:30.12 that it was torn from top to bottom showing that God was 00:12:30.15\00:12:33.19 the one who tore that veil. Why tearing the veil? 00:12:33.22\00:12:37.74 Because that veil was right in the very heart of the temple 00:12:38.64\00:12:43.87 where the lambs were slain, the sacrifices that were carried 00:12:43.90\00:12:47.08 out, we've already answered this question, I know you know 00:12:47.11\00:12:49.69 the answer, but I'm going to ask it again, did those bulls, 00:12:49.72\00:12:52.34 and those goats, and those lambs, and those rams, 00:12:52.37\00:12:54.83 could they take away any sins? No, their importance was not 00:12:54.86\00:12:57.69 in their own efficacy, but as in they pointed forward 00:12:57.72\00:13:01.94 to Jesus, so when Jesus, the true Lamb of God, died 00:13:01.97\00:13:06.70 on Golgotha's hill, God said "No more sacrifices", 00:13:07.03\00:13:11.24 "unnecessary because the true Lamb has come"; the veil was 00:13:11.27\00:13:14.51 ripped, not from the bottom to the top, that's how a man 00:13:14.54\00:13:17.42 would have done it, but from the top to the bottom, and God 00:13:17.45\00:13:19.90 said "I am satisfied with this final sacrifice. " 00:13:19.93\00:13:26.65 Now look at this, this gets absolutely amazing, verse 27, 00:13:28.43\00:13:31.80 we'll come back to the destruction of the city 00:13:31.83\00:13:34.12 in just a moment, verse 27: "He will confirm the covenant" 00:13:34.15\00:13:36.70 "with many for 1 week", what covenant? 00:13:36.73\00:13:40.22 God had a covenant with the Jews, 00:13:41.19\00:13:44.31 God had a covenant with Israel, they were to be His chosen 00:13:46.19\00:13:48.48 people, and He was to be their God, how many times in 00:13:48.51\00:13:50.77 the Old Testament do you find Him saying "I will be your God" 00:13:50.80\00:13:53.77 "and you will be My people. " "I will be your God, and you" 00:13:53.80\00:13:56.66 "will be My people", and Jesus comes down to confirm that 00:13:56.69\00:14:01.48 covenant to give them one last chance, He comes to confirm 00:14:01.51\00:14:06.19 that covenant for a week. But what happens in the middle 00:14:06.22\00:14:11.35 of the week? Was He received? 00:14:11.39\00:14:13.59 - [Audience] No. - When they began to cry out 00:14:13.62\00:14:16.28 "Hosanna, Hosanna to the Son of David", did all of 00:14:16.31\00:14:20.13 the religious leaders, and the religious hierarchy run out 00:14:20.16\00:14:22.77 and accept Him as the promised Messiah? 00:14:22.80\00:14:25.16 - [Audience] No. - No, they crucified Him. 00:14:25.19\00:14:29.24 In the middle of the week He was cut off, but not because He 00:14:29.27\00:14:32.15 was guilty, because you were guilty. 00:14:32.18\00:14:35.46 Look at the rest of that verse, verse 27: "But in the middle" 00:14:37.63\00:14:40.46 "of the week He will bring an end to sacrifice and offering. " 00:14:40.49\00:14:48.26 How does He bring an end to sacrifice and offering? 00:14:49.91\00:14:52.75 When the true Lamb dies, is there any need now to bring 00:14:52.78\00:14:55.63 a lamb now that points forward to Jesus? 00:14:55.66\00:14:58.21 No, because now Jesus has come, He is the one. 00:14:58.24\00:15:02.53 What did John say "Behold the Lamb of God that takes away" 00:15:02.81\00:15:07.20 "the sin of the world", so when Jesus came, and when He died, 00:15:07.23\00:15:11.25 He puts an end to sacrifice, and God symbolized that, 00:15:11.28\00:15:14.98 God sanctioned that, God solidified that, 00:15:15.01\00:15:17.57 and crystallized that by tearing that veil from top to bottom, 00:15:17.60\00:15:22.83 saying: "It's over! " Jesus cried out 00:15:22.86\00:15:26.97 "It is finished. " Some of you have heard 00:15:27.00\00:15:31.29 that this prophecy has to do with the Antichrist, and you've 00:15:31.32\00:15:34.15 been waiting for an Antichrist to come to some earthly temple 00:15:34.18\00:15:38.06 and to stop the Jews from offering sacrifices. 00:15:38.09\00:15:40.70 Beloved, you can believe that if you want to follow fictitious 00:15:40.73\00:15:45.86 adventure fiction novels about the Bible, but if you want 00:15:45.89\00:15:48.91 to know what the Bible is teaching, this prophecy has 00:15:48.94\00:15:51.75 nothing to do with the Antichrist, and everything 00:15:51.78\00:15:54.36 to do with Jesus Christ. This isn't about the Antichrist 00:15:54.39\00:15:57.20 putting an end to the sacrifices of the Jews, this is about 00:15:57.23\00:15:59.76 Jesus Christ putting an end to all sacrifice when He died 00:15:59.79\00:16:03.04 on Golgotha's tree, and God powerfully endorsed that 00:16:03.07\00:16:07.78 when He tore that temple from top to bottom, and it says 00:16:07.92\00:16:10.19 He'd put an end to sacrifice and offering. 00:16:10.22\00:16:14.13 It's just as plain as the noonday sun, there is no 00:16:16.28\00:16:19.58 Antichrist here in chapter 9. I want to be a little careful, 00:16:19.61\00:16:24.48 there are Antichrist illusions in chapter 9, but right here 00:16:24.51\00:16:27.40 we're talking about Jesus Christ. 00:16:27.43\00:16:30.47 Now look at this, it says, the last part, this is going to wrap 00:16:32.25\00:16:34.91 up Daniel 9 for us: "On the wing of abominations shall be" 00:16:34.94\00:16:37.21 "one who makes desolate, even unto the consummation which is" 00:16:37.24\00:16:41.22 "determined", is poured out, "on the desolate. " 00:16:41.25\00:16:43.32 You say "Whoa, lost me there again. " 00:16:43.35\00:16:46.76 The last part of 26 and the last part of 27 foretell 00:16:46.94\00:16:50.74 the destruction of the city. Now, those of you who are 00:17:22.48\00:17:26.04 attentive, you're noticing that there's still another 00:17:26.07\00:17:28.40 3 and a half years at the end of this, isn't there? 00:17:28.43\00:17:31.07 Absolutely, we're only half way through that final week. 00:17:31.10\00:17:34.69 "Perfect, Prophetic Proof Jesus' Identity and of His Historical" 00:17:34.72\00:17:39.27 "Uniqueness, Jesus of Nazareth is in fact, the Messiah." 00:17:39.30\00:17:42.94 Now, notice this: 34 AD, because He was baptized 00:17:42.97\00:17:48.73 in the fall of 27 AD, He was crucified in the spring of 00:17:48.76\00:17:52.28 31 AD, He was the Passover that was slain for us, and then 00:17:52.31\00:17:56.64 you go another 3 and a half years out, that would bring 00:17:56.67\00:17:58.91 you to the fall of 34 AD, to keep it very, very simple, 00:17:58.94\00:18:02.67 if you just go 70 weeks, or 490 years, from 457, you would 00:18:02.70\00:18:06.94 come right down to 34 AD, this decree was passed in 00:18:06.97\00:18:09.66 the fall by Artaxerxes, and this ends in the fall of 34 AD, 00:18:09.69\00:18:13.49 and you might be thinking "Well wait a minute, " 00:18:13.52\00:18:16.28 "what happened in the fall of 34 AD? Jesus was already" 00:18:16.31\00:18:18.73 "in heaven. " It's a very good question, 00:18:18.76\00:18:21.33 a very, very good question. Go with me in your Bible to 00:18:21.36\00:18:24.14 Acts 7 and 8, a man by the name of Stephen was stoned. 00:18:24.17\00:18:39.41 And if you read this powerful, in Acts 7 and 8, Stephen is 00:18:39.44\00:18:44.15 addressing himself to the highest religious council 00:18:44.18\00:18:49.12 in the land, and he basically raises significant objections 00:18:49.15\00:18:54.39 to their rejection of the Messiah, and instead 00:18:54.42\00:18:57.51 of receiving Stephen's admonitions, the Bible says they 00:18:57.54\00:19:00.86 took him out and they stoned him. 00:19:00.89\00:19:03.98 Stephen is the first Christian martyr. 00:19:04.86\00:19:08.33 He was stoned in 34 AD, now scholars have noticed 00:19:14.29\00:19:17.60 something very interesting, this is not in your notes, 00:19:17.63\00:19:19.57 so you might want to write this down, and if you can't get it, 00:19:19.60\00:19:21.52 do your best, Stephen's final speech contained 4 very 00:19:21.55\00:19:26.75 important elements, it's not just one of those things 00:19:26.78\00:19:28.89 that's recorded for posterity's sake, it's something very 00:19:28.92\00:19:31.43 significant, something very important, and something 00:19:31.46\00:19:34.05 theologically monumental taking place in Stephen's sermon. 00:19:34.08\00:19:37.57 Number 1: [text on screen] 00:19:37.77\00:19:39.05 In other words, he delivered it to the top, it would be 00:19:45.45\00:19:48.08 like giving an address to the congress, and the senate, 00:19:48.11\00:19:51.53 and the executive branch, the president of the US. 00:19:51.56\00:19:54.07 He addressed this to the highest religious body in the land. 00:19:54.10\00:19:58.30 Number 2, the speech, if you look at it, it's really kind of 00:19:58.33\00:20:02.55 interesting because what he's arguing for is that Jesus was 00:20:02.58\00:20:05.02 the Messiah, but he begins way back in the time of Abraham 00:20:05.05\00:20:08.56 and he walks through Abraham, and he walks through Moses, 00:20:08.59\00:20:11.29 and he walks through all of the Patriarchs, and then he ends 00:20:11.32\00:20:14.19 at Jesus, and you think "Why is he doing that? " 00:20:14.22\00:20:16.37 Scholars have noted that what Stephen is doing is he is 00:20:16.40\00:20:19.61 modeling his sermon, his presentation after a covenant 00:20:19.64\00:20:25.03 lawsuit. What's a covenant? 00:20:25.06\00:20:30.56 It's an agreement, a covenant is an agreement; 00:20:30.97\00:20:33.74 so if I have a covenant here with Earl, and I say 00:20:33.77\00:20:35.92 "Earl, I'm going to do this, and you're going to do that, " 00:20:35.95\00:20:38.56 "and we have a covenant", today we would call that 00:20:38.59\00:20:39.88 a contract. Back in the day I would just 00:20:39.91\00:20:45.48 shake his hand and he'd shake mine and we'd call it good, 00:20:45.51\00:20:47.42 because a man's word was his bond, but nowadays we have 00:20:47.45\00:20:50.07 contracts, and lawyers, and all of this paraphernalia, 00:20:50.10\00:20:52.66 but the point is this: if there's a violation there, 00:20:52.69\00:20:56.16 then I could raise a lawsuit, or he could raise a lawsuit 00:20:56.19\00:20:59.21 against me, God had a covenant with His people 00:20:59.24\00:21:03.47 and He had extended this covenant now, from the 00:21:04.63\00:21:07.39 very beginning, Abraham would have been the first of the Jews, 00:21:07.42\00:21:09.64 but then Gabriel had said "70 weeks are determined, decreed, " 00:21:09.67\00:21:12.84 "cut off for your people", and here at the end of that 00:21:12.87\00:21:16.64 Stephen now delivers this marvelous sermon that scholars 00:21:16.67\00:21:20.21 have recognized was basically like the covenant lawsuits 00:21:20.24\00:21:23.04 that the prophets preached in the Old Testament. 00:21:23.07\00:21:25.59 What he was saying is "This is it! This is your last chance" 00:21:25.62\00:21:30.32 "right here, right now", and he traces all the evidences through 00:21:30.35\00:21:33.78 "I summon exhibit A, I summon exhibit B, I summon exhibit C," 00:21:33.81\00:21:37.11 "I summon exhibit D", and he traces all the way down, 00:21:37.14\00:21:39.28 and here's their chance, the crux of the moment, the crucible 00:21:39.31\00:21:42.71 of the matter, right then, right there, and instead of 00:21:42.74\00:21:45.53 receiving it, the Bible actually says something very interesting 00:21:45.56\00:21:47.93 in Acts 7 and 8, it says they stopped their ears. 00:21:47.96\00:21:52.53 Did you know that? The Bible says they stopped 00:21:52.87\00:21:56.43 their ears and they rushed on him, gnashing him with their 00:21:56.46\00:22:00.14 teeth, and they killed him. So number 1, it was delivered 00:22:00.17\00:22:05.03 to the highest religious body in the land; number 2: it was 00:22:05.06\00:22:07.44 modeled after a covenant lawsuit, number 3: 00:22:07.47\00:22:10.36 [text on screen] 00:22:10.39\00:22:12.04 You're there in Acts 7:54, "When they heard these" 00:22:16.18\00:22:26.46 "things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him" 00:22:26.49\00:22:28.95 "with their teeth, but he, being full of the Holy Spirit, " 00:22:28.98\00:22:31.90 "gazed into heaven and he saw the glory of God, and Jesus" 00:22:31.93\00:22:34.81 "standing on the right hand of God. " 00:22:34.84\00:22:37.11 Can you think of anything you'd rather see as you're just about 00:22:37.14\00:22:39.33 ready to breathe your last breath than that? 00:22:39.36\00:22:41.09 [Audience] Amen. 00:22:41.12\00:22:42.52 Verse 56: "And he said, Look, I see the heaven's opened, " 00:22:43.33\00:22:47.43 "and the Son of man is standing at the right hand of God, " 00:22:47.46\00:22:49.94 "and they cried out with a loud voice, and they stopped their" 00:22:49.97\00:22:53.85 "ears", symbolically saying "We're not interested in" 00:22:53.88\00:22:59.39 "this Jesus. " "...they stopped their ears. " 00:22:59.42\00:23:03.42 Look at the rest of this: "They ran at him with one" 00:23:05.20\00:23:08.01 "accord, they cast him out of the city, they stoned him, " 00:23:08.04\00:23:12.12 "and the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of" 00:23:12.15\00:23:14.73 "a young man named Saul, and they stoned Stephen as he" 00:23:14.76\00:23:18.17 "was calling on God, and he said, Lord Jesus, receive" 00:23:18.20\00:23:20.57 "my spirit, and he knelt down and he cried out with" 00:23:20.60\00:23:23.65 "a loud voice, Lord, do not charge them with this sin, " 00:23:23.68\00:23:26.39 "and when he had done this, he fell asleep. " 00:23:26.42\00:23:30.39 It doesn't mean he took a nap, he died. 00:23:30.42\00:23:34.14 Beloved, God was confirming that Stephen's message was true 00:23:35.20\00:23:39.33 when he gave Stephen the prophetic vision of Jesus 00:23:39.36\00:23:41.50 at God's right hand. That's number 3, and number 4: 00:23:41.53\00:23:44.83 [text on screen] 00:23:44.86\00:23:46.31 It says it right there, "they laid their coats", "Oh, we've" 00:23:47.46\00:23:50.03 "got to take our coats off as we stone this heretic. " 00:23:50.06\00:23:53.75 They laid those coats at Saul's feet, [text on screen] 00:23:53.78\00:23:58.75 Just go read the book of Acts, Acts 10 and onward, 00:24:05.95\00:24:10.63 the gospel begins to go like wildfire to the Gentiles. 00:24:10.78\00:24:15.73 Why is God turning to the Gentiles? Because the Jews, 00:24:18.71\00:24:23.24 not as individuals, but the Jews as a nation, 00:24:23.27\00:24:26.58 as a religio-political national entity had a officially closed 00:24:26.61\00:24:32.30 the covenant, had lost the lawsuit, and had been moved 00:24:32.33\00:24:36.19 beyond, so then the gospel begins to go to 00:24:36.22\00:24:40.03 the Gentiles, it's basically like saying "Hey listen, " 00:24:41.15\00:24:43.42 "if you're not going to pay attention, we'll talk to" 00:24:43.45\00:24:45.83 "the people who will. " That's basically the whole book 00:24:45.86\00:24:48.55 of Acts, the apostle Paul on his missionary journeys, and where's 00:24:48.58\00:24:51.82 he going? He's going to strange places: Ephesus, and 00:24:51.85\00:24:54.64 Rome, and Antioch, and all over Asia Minor, why? 00:24:54.67\00:24:57.96 Because he's taking the good news of a crucified and risen 00:24:57.99\00:25:01.30 Saviour to the Gentile communities. 00:25:01.33\00:25:04.48 Why did it happen at that time? Because the time that was 00:25:05.05\00:25:09.47 allotted for the Jews as a nation, I want to underscore 00:25:09.50\00:25:14.75 that, as a nation, can God still save Jewish people today? 00:25:14.78\00:25:18.16 Of course he can, as they put their faith in the Lord 00:25:18.19\00:25:20.71 Jesus Christ, but as a nation... [makes a finishing gesture] 00:25:20.74\00:25:26.14 The gospel begins to go to the gentile communities, 00:25:26.20\00:25:28.12 absolutely powerful. Let's continue on, 00:25:28.15\00:25:30.45 Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD as God's judgment upon 00:25:30.48\00:25:38.18 Israel and Jerusalem for its rejection of the Messiah. 00:25:38.21\00:25:41.11 Remember, I told you, what was that sequence? 00:25:41.14\00:25:43.01 Messiah rejected, city destroyed. 00:25:43.04\00:25:45.76 Let's say it together: Messiah rejected, city destroyed. 00:25:45.79\00:25:49.00 We've already seen that in Daniel 9, go to Matthew 21, 00:25:49.03\00:25:56.56 and I want to read this to you real quick, we'll see how fast 00:25:56.59\00:26:00.24 Pastor Asscherick can read, Matthew 21:33, are we there? 00:26:00.27\00:26:07.71 Matthew 21:33, I want everybody there, follow along. 00:26:07.74\00:26:10.35 Here we go, Jesus says, here another parable, He's speaking 00:26:10.38\00:26:13.14 to the religious leaders of His day: "There was a certain" 00:26:13.17\00:26:16.07 "land owner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge" 00:26:16.10\00:26:18.63 "around it, he dug a wine press in it, and he built a tower. " 00:26:18.66\00:26:21.14 "And he leased it to vine dressers, and went into a far" 00:26:21.17\00:26:23.52 "country. Now when vintage time drew near he sent his servants" 00:26:23.55\00:26:26.07 "to the vinedressers that they might receive its fruit, " 00:26:26.10\00:26:28.46 "and the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, " 00:26:28.49\00:26:30.96 "killed one, and stoned another. Again, he sent" 00:26:30.99\00:26:33.56 "other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise" 00:26:33.59\00:26:37.27 "to them. Last of all, he sent his son saying, They will" 00:26:37.30\00:26:40.08 "respect my son. But when the vinedressers saw the son" 00:26:40.11\00:26:42.64 "they said among themselves, This is the heir, come let us" 00:26:42.67\00:26:45.18 "kill him and cease his inheritance. So they took him" 00:26:45.21\00:26:47.63 "and cast him out of the vineyard and they killed him. " 00:26:47.66\00:26:49.85 "Therefore, when the owner of that vineyard comes", 00:26:49.88\00:26:51.90 what will he do to those vinedressers? 00:26:51.93\00:26:54.72 Do you know what this parable is teaching? 00:26:54.75\00:26:57.04 This is a simple parable, 00:26:57.07\00:26:59.44 God set up the nation of Israel, he sent prophet, after prophet, 00:26:59.48\00:27:02.19 after prophet, and most of those prophets were ignored 00:27:02.22\00:27:05.16 and rejected. A very broad sweep of Israel's history, 00:27:05.19\00:27:09.11 and last of all He sent His Son, but what happened to the Son? 00:27:09.14\00:27:13.99 He was killed. Is there any question in 00:27:14.02\00:27:16.44 anyone's mind what this prophecy is about? 00:27:16.47\00:27:18.76 Now watch this, phenomenal, verse 41: "They said to Him", 00:27:18.79\00:27:23.04 because remember, Jesus has said: "what did the guy do? " 00:27:23.07\00:27:25.91 "When he comes back what would he do? " 00:27:25.94\00:27:27.99 Look at verse 41: "They said to him, He will destroy those" 00:27:28.02\00:27:35.62 "wicked men miserably and lease his vineyard to other " 00:27:35.65\00:27:38.40 "vinedressers who will render him the fruits in " 00:27:38.43\00:27:40.88 "their seasons. " Do you see it? The Son was rejected, 00:27:40.91\00:27:43.45 and destruction comes. Son is rejected, what comes? 00:27:43.48\00:27:48.06 - [Audience] Destruction. - And notice what Jesus says 00:27:48.09\00:27:50.80 here, Jesus said to them: "Whoa, haven't you read" 00:27:50.83\00:27:53.47 "on the Scriptures, Psalm 118, the stone that the builders" 00:27:53.50\00:27:56.14 "rejected, the same has become the chief cornerstone. " 00:27:56.17\00:27:58.55 "This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. " 00:27:58.58\00:28:00.96 Look at verse 43, what's the first word of verse 43? 00:28:00.99\00:28:03.52 "Therefore", and when you see the word "therefore", ask 00:28:03.55\00:28:06.16 yourself "What's that there for? " 00:28:06.19\00:28:08.90 Here's Jesus' conclusion based on this parable, and based on 00:28:08.93\00:28:11.27 their own condemnation of themselves: "Therefore I say" 00:28:11.30\00:28:14.12 "to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you" 00:28:14.15\00:28:16.34 "and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. " 00:28:16.37\00:28:20.13 Beloved, if language has meaning what Jesus is saying is: 00:28:20.16\00:28:23.29 "After you reject me as God's Son, the privileges, " 00:28:23.32\00:28:27.93 "and the prerogatives of the kingdom will be taken from you" 00:28:27.96\00:28:30.88 "and given to another nation. " If language has meaning, 00:28:30.91\00:28:35.33 what else could that verse possibly mean? 00:28:35.36\00:28:39.02 Look at this, verse 44: "And whoever falls on this stone" 00:28:39.05\00:28:41.68 "will be broken", that stone, of course, if Jesus Christ, 00:28:41.71\00:28:44.63 "but on whomsoever it falls it will grind him into powder. " 00:28:44.66\00:28:47.14 now look at verse 45: "Now the chief priests and Pharisees" 00:28:47.17\00:28:50.56 "heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking" 00:28:50.59\00:28:53.33 "of them. " Did they know what He was 00:28:53.36\00:28:56.24 was talking about? Yeah, and they didn't like 00:28:56.27\00:28:58.85 it one bit. Verse 46: "And they sought to lay hands on Him, " 00:28:58.88\00:29:01.57 they sought to do the very thing that He just said in the parable 00:29:01.60\00:29:03.84 would happen. Beloved, what was the sequence? 00:29:03.87\00:29:07.92 Messiah rejected, city destroyed. 00:29:08.10\00:29:10.54 Go to Matthew 23, look at the last 3 verses of Matthew 23. 00:29:10.57\00:29:15.96 Here we go: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem", Matthew 23:37, 00:29:17.07\00:29:21.32 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets, " 00:29:21.35\00:29:24.56 "and stones those who were sent to her, how often I wanted" 00:29:24.59\00:29:27.00 "to gather your children together as a hen gathers" 00:29:27.03\00:29:29.28 "her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. " 00:29:29.31\00:29:32.10 Never forget it, God is a gentleman, He will not force 00:29:32.13\00:29:34.67 His way into your life, He needs you to be willing to let Him in. 00:29:34.70\00:29:39.61 God won't violate your free will, He has to work with 00:29:39.64\00:29:41.86 your free will, He says "I wanted to do this, you were" 00:29:41.89\00:29:43.54 "not willing"; verse 38: "See your house is left to you" 00:29:43.57\00:29:47.09 "desolate, for you will not see Me again until you say, " 00:29:47.12\00:29:50.07 "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. " 00:29:50.10\00:29:52.34 Jesus walks out of the temple precincts for the last time. 00:29:52.37\00:29:56.90 They had rejected persistently the evidences of His Messiahship 00:29:56.93\00:30:01.17 and He says: "Look, I'm not going to bend your arm" 00:30:01.20\00:30:03.61 "and make you accept Me, I'm out of here, you won't see Me" 00:30:03.64\00:30:06.00 "again until you see Me in glory. " 00:30:06.03\00:30:09.29 What's the very next thing that happens? 00:30:10.00\00:30:12.01 Matthew 24:1: "When Jesus departed from the temple" 00:30:12.04\00:30:16.67 "His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings" 00:30:16.80\00:30:19.18 "of the temple", verse 2, Jesus says "Stop trying to cheer" 00:30:19.21\00:30:21.95 "Me up with the temple. " "Do you not see all these" 00:30:21.98\00:30:24.57 "things, assuredly I say to you, not one stone will be left" 00:30:24.60\00:30:29.12 "here upon another that will not be thrown down. " 00:30:29.15\00:30:31.06 What's He talking about? The destruction of the temple 00:30:31.09\00:30:34.67 and of the city. 3 times in Daniel 9, 00:30:34.70\00:30:38.21 Messiah was rejected, city was destroyed. 00:30:40.98\00:30:43.37 Where did Jesus get His theology from? 00:30:43.40\00:30:45.25 He knew the prophecies of Daniel, Jesus had to learn just 00:30:45.28\00:30:48.92 like you and I learn. He studied the Scriptures, 00:30:48.95\00:30:52.19 He had to sit and memorize, He had to know when the Devil 00:30:52.22\00:30:55.42 came to tempt Him there, "It is written...", He said. 00:30:55.45\00:30:58.88 He knew; how did He know? He studied like you and I 00:30:58.91\00:31:01.38 study. Surely He was God, and surely 00:31:01.41\00:31:04.13 He was a man, but He knew what it was to walk a mile in my 00:31:04.16\00:31:07.71 moccasins. So in Daniel 9 Jesus knew it, 00:31:07.74\00:31:11.36 the Messiah would be rejected, cut off in the middle of 00:31:11.39\00:31:13.41 the week and the city is destroyed, so He tells a parable 00:31:13.44\00:31:15.61 in Matthew 21, "Hey listen, there was a vineyard, and he" 00:31:15.64\00:31:18.29 "leased it out, and he sent out his servants, and they rejected" 00:31:18.32\00:31:21.37 "the servants, and then he sent out his son, and they rejected" 00:31:21.40\00:31:24.18 "the son, what would you do? ", and they said "Oh, destruction", 00:31:24.21\00:31:26.86 He says "that's right "; Messiah's rejected, city's 00:31:26.89\00:31:29.50 destroyed. Then in Matthew 24 He says 00:31:29.53\00:31:31.64 "Hey, your house is left to you desolate, I'm out of here, " 00:31:31.67\00:31:34.32 "what more can I do? I wanted to gather you, you're not" 00:31:34.35\00:31:37.11 "willing", and He walks out, and He goes up on Mount Olive, 00:31:37.14\00:31:39.85 the disciples come to cheer Him up and He says 00:31:39.88\00:31:42.18 "Do you know what's going to happen to this city? " 00:31:42.21\00:31:45.44 "It's going to be destroyed. " Now if that sequence is clear, 00:31:45.47\00:31:48.17 I want you to say "amen". Messiah's rejected, 00:31:48.20\00:31:50.98 city's destroyed, 3 times, Messiah rejected, city 00:31:51.01\00:31:53.55 destroyed. So there it is in 34 AD, right there. 00:31:53.58\00:31:56.04 You say "What happened in 34 AD? " 00:31:56.07\00:31:58.29 It's very simple what happened in 34 AD, Stephen was stoned 00:31:58.32\00:32:00.90 in 34 AD, thus symbolizing the closing of the covenant, 00:32:00.93\00:32:03.21 and listen to my language because I'm not going to stutter 00:32:03.24\00:32:06.05 or at least I'm planning on not stuttering, that is this: 00:32:06.08\00:32:09.23 The Jewish nation as a nation ceased to have the special 00:32:09.26\00:32:14.14 prerogatives and significance that it had before God 00:32:14.17\00:32:17.51 up to that time. When they stoned Stephen, when 00:32:17.54\00:32:22.94 their covenant was confirmed, when they rejected the Messiah, 00:32:22.97\00:32:26.40 and when that city was destroyed, can Jews still 00:32:26.43\00:32:29.04 be saved? [Audience] Yes. 00:32:29.07\00:32:31.37 Sure, can Jamaicans still be saved? 00:32:31.40\00:32:33.93 - [Audience] Sure. - Can Russians be saved? 00:32:33.96\00:32:35.99 Romanians, my wife's Romanian, she can be saved. 00:32:36.02\00:32:38.85 [Audience member] Armenian. Armenians can be saved too, 00:32:38.88\00:32:41.35 why not? What God is saying here in the New Testament 00:32:41.38\00:32:44.04 is He's no longer a respecter of persons, we have equal 00:32:44.07\00:32:48.01 access to God, so Jews can still be saved, but the Jews 00:32:48.04\00:32:51.12 as a nation, 34 AD at the stoning of Stephen, 00:32:51.15\00:32:56.99 what did Jesus say? "Therefore the kingdom of God" 00:32:57.02\00:32:59.78 "will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will" 00:32:59.81\00:33:02.14 "bear the fruits", powerful, very simple. 00:33:02.17\00:33:04.76 So what happens after 34 AD? The gospel goes to the Gentiles. 00:33:04.79\00:33:10.37 I'm a Gentile beloved, by nature I don't think I have any 00:33:12.82\00:33:16.83 genealogical relationship to Abraham, maybe I do, 00:33:16.86\00:33:19.18 some way back, but I'm a Gentile, and I'm a Jew by faith. 00:33:19.21\00:33:24.62 I'm a follower of Abraham by faith. 00:33:25.22\00:33:28.55 I'm looking out here today and I see a whole lot of Gentile 00:33:28.90\00:33:31.26 faces, you better praise the Lord that the gospel went 00:33:31.29\00:33:34.42 to the Gentiles. [Audience] Amen. 00:33:34.45\00:33:36.76 Powerful. So the gospel goes to the Gentiles. 00:33:36.79\00:33:39.89 The church carried the gospel to the Jews, to the Gentiles, 00:33:39.92\00:33:42.09 and beyond. " Okay, I'm going to do 00:37:51.90\00:37:54.13 my very best. 00:37:54.16\00:37:55.38 Okay, here's our 3 part sanctuary, what's the first 00:38:01.33\00:38:03.92 part? The courtyard, then the Holy Place, and then 00:38:03.95\00:38:07.25 the Most Holy Place. Now that was just a little 00:38:07.28\00:38:09.87 dance that God made up out in the wilderness to keep them 00:38:09.90\00:38:12.97 busy, right? [Audience] No. 00:38:13.00\00:38:15.32 Those things pointed forward to Jesus. 00:38:15.35\00:38:17.57 So on the cross that symbolized the courtyard where 00:38:17.60\00:38:20.00 the penalty was paid, remember that? 00:38:20.03\00:38:22.29 And then we come into the Holy Place, and what were 00:38:22.32\00:38:25.06 the 3 things in the Holy Place? There was the candle stick, 00:38:25.09\00:38:27.60 the table of show bread, and the altar of incense, 00:38:27.63\00:38:30.30 representing Holy Spirit, prayer and the Word of God, 00:38:30.33\00:38:35.34 the bread of life, Jesus Himself. 00:38:35.37\00:38:37.43 And then what was on the other side of that curtain? 00:38:37.46\00:38:39.97 The Most Holy Place, and what's in there? 00:38:40.00\00:38:42.14 The ark of the covenant. So this was foreshadowing what 00:38:42.17\00:38:44.71 Jesus would do at His ministry. I mean, Jesus is our High Priest 00:38:44.74\00:38:49.46 in heaven, any question about that? [Audience] No. 00:38:49.49\00:38:52.78 So when Jesus ascends, He ascends into the heavenly 00:38:52.81\00:38:55.03 sanctuary, and then here He's going to transition into 00:38:55.06\00:38:59.03 the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary to cleanse 00:38:59.06\00:39:02.96 the sanctuary. Hey, that's exactly what we read 00:39:02.99\00:39:07.05 in Daniel 8:13, "How long will this be? ", and then he says 00:39:07.08\00:39:11.07 in verse 14: "To 2300 days then the sanctuary will be cleansed", 00:39:11.10\00:39:16.92 what sanctuary? The heavenly sanctuary 00:39:16.99\00:39:19.83 of course, it's the only one in existence at that time. 00:39:19.86\00:39:22.47 So let's continue here, you move all the way down 00:39:22.50\00:39:25.81 and here Jesus Christ is entering into the final phase 00:39:25.84\00:39:28.43 of His ministry, you say "Whoa, that's amazing, absolutely" 00:39:28.46\00:39:31.04 "amazing, but does it fit? " It fits perfectly. 00:39:31.07\00:39:34.09 Look at our quick review here, Daniel 2, what do we have here? 00:39:34.12\00:39:39.00 Babylon, then Medo-Persia, then Greece, then Rome, 00:39:39.03\00:39:42.82 then divided Rome. And then here, what do we have 00:39:42.85\00:39:45.40 here? Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, 00:39:45.43\00:39:51.82 Rome, and then what came up out of those 10 horns? 00:39:51.85\00:39:55.40 A little horn, and then what was the very next thing 00:39:55.43\00:39:57.64 we saw? Remember our 3 fold 00:39:57.67\00:40:00.23 sequence? Rome, little horn, judgment. 00:40:00.26\00:40:03.66 So does it fit? Yes or no? Sure it fits right there, 00:40:04.65\00:40:08.04 because the little horn reigned from 538-1798, 00:40:08.07\00:40:13.76 1260 years coming to an end in 1798. 00:40:13.79\00:40:17.17 So too here in Daniel 8, we have Medo-Persia, which was the ram, 00:40:17.75\00:40:21.03 we have Greece, which was the goat, Pagan Rome, which was 00:40:21.06\00:40:23.43 the horizontal element of the little horn, little horn, 00:40:23.46\00:40:25.80 which makes its boast against God, God's sanctuary, 00:40:25.83\00:40:28.52 God's people, God's truth, God's Son, and then what happens? 00:40:28.55\00:40:31.94 The sanctuary's cleansed, corresponding with the judgment. 00:40:31.97\00:40:35.14 Of course, as we've already discussed; 00:40:35.17\00:40:37.77 There were how many services in the earthly sanctuary? 00:40:37.80\00:40:40.31 2, the sin was going in 359 days out of the year, 00:40:40.34\00:40:44.96 but then on the Day of Atonement that sin had to be taken out. 00:40:50.91\00:40:59.92 So Jesus Christ, as our High Priest, would enter the Most 00:41:01.02\00:41:05.03 Holy place of the heavenly sanctuary, why? 00:41:05.06\00:41:08.71 To begin to cleanse and to judge just before His return. 00:41:08.74\00:41:15.87 Did you hear what I said? Just before His what? 00:41:16.61\00:41:19.22 - [Audience] Return. - Now, this is the longest time 00:41:19.25\00:41:21.69 prophecy in all the Bible, you can't find a longer time 00:41:21.72\00:41:24.15 prophecy in the whole Bible than that one. 00:41:24.18\00:41:26.45 Look at our significantly important prophetic times, 00:41:26.48\00:41:29.00 look at how it all fits together powerfully. 00:41:29.03\00:41:31.42 Here's some of our dates, 457 to 34 AD is the time 00:41:31.45\00:41:35.21 especially allotted for the Jews, how do we know that that's 00:41:35.24\00:41:38.37 right? Because it aligns up perfectly 00:41:38.40\00:41:40.71 with the baptism, death of the Messiah, and the closing 00:41:40.74\00:41:44.17 of the covenant in the gospel going to the Gentiles. 00:41:44.20\00:41:47.35 So this is a lock, we've also seen that here are 1260 years 00:41:47.38\00:41:50.37 was the reign of the papacy from 538 AD until 1798, 00:41:50.40\00:41:54.56 when it received a deadly wound. 00:41:54.59\00:41:56.51 So far so good everyone? And here we moved from 00:41:56.54\00:41:59.25 457 all the way down, 2300 prophetic days, or literal 00:41:59.28\00:42:03.27 years, drops us in 1844 AD, is that after the reign of 00:42:03.30\00:42:07.26 the little horn? Yeah, because it has to come 00:42:07.29\00:42:10.31 after the little horn, so it has to be after 1798, but it has 00:42:10.34\00:42:15.80 to be before the second coming. This gets powerful, open your 00:42:15.83\00:42:21.29 Bibles, I had you in Hebrews, but we didn't go there, 00:42:21.32\00:42:23.97 go to Revelation. 00:42:24.00\00:42:26.33 Revelation 6, we've already read this verse once, we're going 00:42:29.45\00:42:35.44 to read it again, Revelation 6:9. 00:42:35.47\00:42:43.83 We've already read this: "And when he opened the 5th seal" 00:42:43.86\00:42:46.61 "I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain" 00:42:46.64\00:42:49.49 "for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they had" 00:42:49.52\00:42:52.39 "held", verse 10, "and they cried with a loud voice, " 00:42:52.42\00:42:54.82 "saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true until You judge? " 00:42:54.85\00:42:59.91 So they were waiting for the judgment, the vindication, 00:42:59.94\00:43:03.75 of God and His cause, and of them, because they had been 00:43:03.78\00:43:06.00 slain because they clung to the Word. 00:43:06.03\00:43:08.89 So they're saying "How long?!" That was the same question 00:43:08.92\00:43:11.70 in Daniel 8, "How long?!" Now look at Revelation 14, 00:43:11.73\00:43:16.49 quick question, had the judgment begun when they were crying 00:43:19.91\00:43:22.93 out "How long?!" [Audience] No. 00:43:22.96\00:43:25.00 It couldn't have because they wouldn't be saying "How long" 00:43:25.03\00:43:27.37 "till it starts? " But look what happens in 00:43:27.40\00:43:29.88 Revelation 14:6, John sees these mighty angels 00:43:29.91\00:43:36.37 "Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, " 00:43:36.40\00:43:38.79 "having the everlasting gospel to preach to them that dwell" 00:43:38.82\00:43:42.04 "on the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue and people, " 00:43:42.07\00:43:43.96 "saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to Him, " 00:43:43.99\00:43:47.51 "for the hour of His judgment" is going to come? 00:43:47.54\00:43:50.56 - [Audience] "...is come. Didn't we read that in 00:45:47.94\00:45:50.14 Matthew 13: "Let both grow together until the harvest", 00:45:50.17\00:45:55.45 and here in Revelation 14 it says: "the time for the harvest" 00:45:55.48\00:45:59.53 "is here, go get them Jesus. " He's sending out His angels 00:45:59.56\00:46:03.34 and He's reaping those that are putting their faith in the Lord 00:46:03.37\00:46:06.59 Jesus Christ, and those that aren't are being excluded. 00:46:06.62\00:46:09.57 Now here's the thing I want you to see, what comes first: 00:46:09.60\00:46:14.64 6 or 14? What come first? So you're counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 00:46:14.67\00:46:19.67 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14; so 6 comes before 14. 00:46:19.70\00:46:25.03 Go back and read verses 6 and 7. " Do you know what that means? 00:46:40.10\00:46:42.69 There will be a time before the harvest, is that before 00:46:42.72\00:46:47.66 the harvest; there will be a time before the harvest that 00:46:47.69\00:46:52.10 people will be saying "the judgment is come", 00:46:52.13\00:46:56.23 not "the judgment is coming", but "the judgment is come". 00:46:57.59\00:47:02.42 Beloved, you and I are living in that judgment hour. 00:47:02.45\00:47:05.76 We are living in the final phase of Jesus' ministry. 00:47:05.79\00:47:10.64 Jesus was the Lamb, but when He returns the second time 00:47:10.67\00:47:16.58 He's not a lamb. 00:47:16.61\00:47:19.62 And Jesus was the Priest, we've already looked at that, 00:47:20.72\00:47:24.67 He's the High Priest. Here He's the Lamb, 00:47:24.70\00:47:28.58 died on that altar, and He goes in here and He's our Priest 00:47:29.16\00:47:33.58 mediating for us, and interceding for us, as Paul 00:47:33.61\00:47:36.42 said "He ever lives to make intercession for us", and then 00:47:36.45\00:47:39.02 He moves, there's only 3 phases beloved. 00:47:39.05\00:47:42.23 When Jesus Christ moves into the most Holy Place of the heavenly 00:47:42.26\00:47:45.49 sanctuary, you say "Whoa, the Most Holy Place is in" 00:47:45.52\00:47:48.19 "the heavenly sanctuary? " You're still there in 00:47:48.22\00:47:50.51 Revelation 14, look at it, Revelation 11, give me 2 minutes 00:47:50.54\00:47:55.87 and this is done, maybe 3; Revelation 11:19, 00:47:55.90\00:48:00.67 John says: "Then the temple of God was opened in heaven" 00:48:04.43\00:48:08.76 "and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. " 00:48:08.79\00:48:13.76 Is there an ark in the heavenly temple? 00:48:16.42\00:48:19.71 Yeah, John saw it. So Jesus would eventually have make 00:48:19.74\00:48:24.00 His transition into the Most Holy Place of the heavenly 00:48:24.03\00:48:27.04 sanctuary, and beloved, when He makes His transition in there, 00:48:27.07\00:48:30.47 here He's lamb, here He's priest, but when Jesus returns, 00:48:30.50\00:48:34.14 He doesn't return as a lamb, when Jesus returns, He doesn't 00:48:34.17\00:48:39.09 return as a priest, just as the High Priest went into the Most 00:48:39.12\00:48:44.61 Holy Place on the Day of Atonement, so too our High 00:48:44.64\00:48:47.29 Priest, Jesus Christ, would go in 1 final act of ministry 00:48:47.32\00:48:53.08 before He would lay down His priestly garments, lay down 00:48:53.11\00:48:56.57 His priestly censer, and return as King of kings, and Lord 00:48:56.60\00:49:01.75 of lords. 00:49:01.78\00:49:03.42 When Jesus returns, He doesn't come back as a lamb, when Jesus 00:49:04.99\00:49:09.70 returns He doesn't come back as the Priest, when He returns 00:49:09.73\00:49:14.36 He comes back as the King, which means there much be a time 00:49:14.39\00:49:19.86 when Jesus would lay aside His priestly garments, when 00:49:20.72\00:49:24.35 Jesus would lay aside His priestly function, and He would 00:49:24.38\00:49:27.66 return as a conquering king. "When is Jesus going to move" 00:49:39.86\00:49:43.78 "into the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary and begin" 00:49:43.81\00:49:46.50 "the cleansing of that sanctuary, and the judging of" 00:49:46.53\00:49:49.79 "His people? " Remember what we already 00:49:49.82\00:49:52.57 saw in Daniel 7, Judgment is given in favor of the saints, 00:49:52.60\00:49:55.49 when is that going to happen? We've seen tonight, that it 00:49:55.52\00:49:57.91 would begin at the end of the 2300 days. 00:49:57.94\00:50:01.69 You say "Well why is God allowing this to come to" 00:50:02.96\00:50:05.76 "light now? " I think there's a variety of 00:50:05.79\00:50:08.12 reasons, and one of the reasons is this: it's to get our eyes 00:50:08.15\00:50:10.37 off of the earthly system, and off of the earthly priests, 00:50:10.40\00:50:13.13 the apostate power, everybody's thinking "earthly, earthly, " 00:50:13.16\00:50:15.91 "earthly", and then our attention is suddenly directed 00:50:15.94\00:50:18.74 to Jesus, our Great High Priest in heaven. 00:50:18.77\00:50:22.64 It's also the last time prophecy in the Bible. 00:50:22.92\00:50:26.44 The very next thing to happen 00:50:26.47\00:50:28.28 in God's great big PDA, His great big day planner, 00:50:28.31\00:50:32.96 the very next thing is the second coming of Jesus. 00:50:33.34\00:50:37.97 We don't know, you say "Well when does that happen David? Whether it's the signs of 00:52:15.04\00:52:17.37 the times, or the prophecy of Daniel 2, the prophecy of 00:52:17.40\00:52:20.97 Daniel 7, the prophecy of Daniel 8, the prophecies of 00:52:21.00\00:52:23.10 Revelation 13, and we still have other prophecies to go, 00:52:23.13\00:52:25.28 but you look at all the converging prophecies, 00:52:25.31\00:52:27.73 the great signs of the times, like labor pains, and that 00:52:27.76\00:52:30.23 budding fig tree, increasing in frequency and intensity, 00:52:30.26\00:52:33.28 you have to believe we are living down at the close 00:52:33.31\00:52:37.04 of earth's time, and God is sending a message, He's saying 00:52:37.07\00:52:40.43 Jesus has entered into the final phase, into the last 00:52:40.46\00:52:43.25 phase as our Great High Priest, He's not going to come back 00:52:43.28\00:52:46.32 as Lamb, He's not going to come back as Priest, He returns 00:52:46.35\00:52:48.19 without sin unto salvation, He returns as a King. 00:52:48.22\00:52:52.67 Beloved listen, He'll only be your King if He was your Lamb, 00:52:52.70\00:53:00.54 and your Priest.
