truly understand what sin is.

We know the word
as Muslims we hear it.

And we know we
have to pay for our sin.

But we really don't
understand what it is.

And you know, when the two of us

were discussing this
subject, one of the two things,

that we discussed was Sharia law

and the law of God.

Are those similar?

Well, in fact, I see absolutely
no similarity between the two.

Of course, the moral
code the Ten Commandments

as we call the moral
code within the Bible

which God gave to Moses.

A series of laws
that have jurisdiction

over every dimension
of a human beings life.

However, the
Sharia law is not a law

that simply has jurisdiction
over your moral behavior

in a sense. It
does in some areas.

But it does not
have jurisdiction

of every area of your life.

And it really comes
short when you compare

the two laws
together, it comes short

of what we do see in
the Ten Commandments,

in the case of
the Ten Commandments

that God gave to Moses.

So I personally
see that the Sharia law

comes very short.

Although it is the
highest law in Islam,

yet compared to
the law that Moses gave

and God gave to
Moses and Moses gave

to the children of Israel,

it comes, it
comes far short of that.

So, so as Muslims we
always felt Sharia law

is the law that we
follow and we felt that,

that was the-- in a
sense the laws of God.

But yet you're saying
that the true law of God

is higher than Sharia law
and supersedes Sharia law.

In fact when Jesus
gave His favorite sermon

and He described the
spirituality of the law

in a sense that up to that point

no Israelite had understood.

And He said, you have heard

that it was said you're
not to commit adulatory.

Well, that's one
of the commandments

in the Ten Commandments.

But Jesus said,
I'll tell you that

if you look upon a
woman to lust after her,

you've already committed
adulatory within your heart.

So, Jesus
basically gave His dimension

to the commandments that
were not seen up to that point.

Not that it
didn't exist before that.

But Israel went after keeping
their law by their works.

They wanted to keep
the law in their works,

in their lives
and not through faith.

And Jesus told them that
you did not even understand

the law has more jurisdiction,

deeper jurisdiction
than you can imagine.

He said if-- it's been said that

"Thou shalt not commit murder."

But I'll tell you if
you get angry in your heart,

So, so Jesus even
made the commandments

more pertinent in a sense.

Right, so it's not
just, you don't actually

just take the life of a person,

that's not
murder but the principle

of destroying that person,

He took it to a
higher-level then

and Sharia law is literally

taken the life of
that person. Absolutely.

But it doesn't
take the principle. No.

There is no spirituality
with the Sharia law.

this spiritual dimension

pointing to which is really

the most important
part of our existence.

physical act really

is a reflection of the spiritual
condition of the heart.

And Christ was going deep down

within the deepest
part of the human being

and saying that, that
it's not just your actions

that condemn you,

your very heart
condemns you. That's right.

my favorite Psalms.

And I would like
to read some verses.

You know, from Psalm
51, one of my favorite.

And what you're
saying, here he is saying,

"Have mercy upon me, O God,

Your loving kindness,

according to the multitude

related to our actions.

look upon the actions.

shaped in iniquity.

I mean, what he is
saying is that when he was born,

with a fallen nature.

How do you understand?

We all fade as a

like the wind,
have taken us away."

Isn't that
beautiful. Is that powerful.

That's powerful. Powerful verse.

And God is speaking to
the believing person here.

the law of the
prophets. I came to fulfill.

to obey the commandments

and being the cleanest person

animal for sacrifice.

was a representative,
