the accurate place where the end

Daniel Chapter 12,
verses 1, 2 and 3 are still

part of the vision.

Gabriel is still
talking to Daniel.

He is telling him what is
going to happen in verse 2 in

the end of time when
the time of trouble begins.

that sleep in the dust of the"

"Earth shall awake, some
to everlasting life and some"

"to shame and
everlasting contempt. "

Now that is a strange place
to be sleeping isn't it, Ty?

I sleep in a bed, I
think you sleep in a bed.

What does it mean when the
people are sleeping, does this

mean in this time lot of
people choose to sleep outside?

What is a talking about?

Obviously the biblical
reference to death in the Bible,

death is referred to repeatedly

as sleep. The Lord Jesus Christ

explains death as a sleep on a
00:01:00.26\00:01:02.62
a number of occasions.

These people are asleep in
the dust of the earth, meaning
00:01:04.03\00:01:08.50
they are those who are resting
in Christ in the grave and
00:01:08.53\00:01:12.93
this verse is prophesy of
the resurrection of both the
00:01:12.97\00:01:17.37
righteous and the wicked.
00:01:17.41\00:01:18.74
We have those who are coming
forth from sleep in the earth
00:01:18.77\00:01:23.31
to everlasting life, that
is the resurrection of the
00:01:23.35\00:01:26.61
righteous, who are
righteous in Christ.

Then we have those who
arise to everlasting contempt

and shame, obviously
this is a reference to the
00:01:32.55\00:01:36.36
resurrection of the
lost, or the wicked.

So that is what Paul
is talking about also in

1 Thessalonians
Chapter 4, and verse 16.

Paul says, "for the Lord
himself shall descend from"

"heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the Archangel,"

"and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ,"

or those who were sleeping
in Christ, "shall rise first. "

"Then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught up"

"together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in"

the air: and so shall
we ever be with the Lord. "

In fact, in the context
of these two verses, verse 14

that Jesus died and rose again,"

beautiful promise, in Daniel

of the resurrection.

The voice of the Archangel,
Jesus says at My voice,

He says they will resurrect
John Chapter 5 verse 26.

There will be a resurrection,
and it says there are two

classes of people here that
will resurrect in that time.

Those who will be resurrected
to everlasting life and others

will be resurrected
to everlasting contempt.

Jesus actually quotes
this verse almost word for word

Jesus speaks of "those
who will come forth," from the

grave that is, "those have
done good, to the resurrection"

"of life; and those that
have done evil, unto the"

"resurrection of condemnation. "

So He is speaking of
these two resurrections as well.

They are segregated, or divided
because we have in Scripture a

a clear indication that at the
second coming of Jesus Christ

the resurrection of the
righteous will occur, but not

till a later time does the
resurrection of the wicked occur

Okay this is awesome,
what we have here friends is we

have Jesus encouraging
us to know His voice.

We need to know
Him in the end of time.

Even those who sleep in
Christ will hear His voice.

Those who hear His voice
will be resurrected, and it says

in verse 3, "and they that
be wise," or those that shall

be teachers is what the word
here means, "shall shine as"

"the brightness of the
firmament; and they that turn"

" many to righteousness as
the stars for ever and ever. "

Now I really like this
phrase, you use like a parallel

as it were here.

Those who are teachers or those
who are wise, those who are
00:03:58.50\00:04:00.90
teaching and are wise are those
who turn many to righteousness.

Now in the Bible, righteousness
is identified as Christ.

Christ, Jeremiah 23 says,
"Christ is our righteousness. "

The Lord our righteousness!
The Lord our righteousness.

In Romans, Paul says the
righteousness of God is filled

up in the gospel of Jesus
Christ, Romans Chapter 1:16, 17.

So what we have here, if you
don't mind me taking liberty,

I would say that we could read
this verse, and they that turn

many to Jesus will shine
as the stars forever and ever.

In our world today
there are Hollywood stars.

In our world today there
are basketball stars, and sports
00:04:43.48\00:04:46.78
stars, rock stars, but this
is a different kind of star.

This is the genuine, this
is the star that will shine
00:04:50.25\00:04:53.59
for ever and ever and it is the
star that turns people to Jesus

because in Jesus is where we
find hope, it is where we find

help, it is where we find life,
it is where we find forgiveness,

and this is where we
find freedom from our guilt

Freedom from the stain of sin.
00:05:05.97\00:05:07.64
It is where we
find joy and happiness.

Turning people to
Jesus is one of the greatest
00:05:09.84\00:05:12.47
accomplishments, it is one
of the greatest ministries,
00:05:12.54\00:05:15.44
and works that any
of us can engage in.

Verse 3 gives us our
marching orders James.
00:05:18.18\00:05:21.18
It tells us exactly
what we need to be doing at
00:05:21.22\00:05:24.22
this tail end
segment of human history,
00:05:24.25\00:05:26.89
right here at the end of time.
00:05:26.92\00:05:28.26
We need to be focusing
our attention, our energies,
00:05:28.29\00:05:32.06
our talents, and our
resources on the great task of
00:05:32.09\00:05:36.00
instructing many,
drawing many, directing many to
00:05:36.03\00:05:39.90
righteousness, to the
gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is how we
need to be spending our
00:05:43.81\00:05:46.31
time and our energy.
00:05:46.34\00:05:47.81
I really appreciate that
this vision Gabriel is giving to
00:05:47.88\00:05:51.31
Daniel ends with
this verse, with verse 3.
00:05:51.35\00:05:53.72
It is as though the angel
00:05:53.75\00:05:55.85
is telling us, friends, that
00:05:55.88\00:05:57.69
all you have seen, even the
00:05:57.72\00:05:59.12
time of trouble such as never
00:05:59.19\00:06:00.96
was, all of it is significant.
00:06:00.99\00:06:02.59
It is prophetic history
and is going to take place.
00:06:02.62\00:06:05.26
But I am going to close
with one thought, and it is the
00:06:05.29\00:06:07.46
most important thought,
don't forget this thought.

Those who turn many to Jesus
will shine for ever and ever.

Isn't that
significant? It's powerful!

Now from verse 3 back we
have Gabriel speaking to Daniel
00:06:15.04\00:06:19.34
in vision, from verse 4
onward we have some closing
00:06:19.37\00:06:23.11
instruction if you will, and
epilogue concerning the vision
00:06:23.14\00:06:26.78
there has been given to Daniel.
00:06:26.82\00:06:28.32
Daniel was really
struggling, and we are going to
00:06:28.35\00:06:31.25
see and understand all this.

In fact there was an
indication of that in the very
00:06:32.65\00:06:34.96
beginning of this
vision in Daniel 10 verse 1,
00:06:34.99\00:06:38.26
because Daniel begins by saying,
I was given a time appointed

"was long: and I
understood the thing, and had"
00:06:43.23\00:06:46.13
"understanding of the vision. "
00:06:46.17\00:06:47.50
"In those days I Daniel
was mourning 3 full weeks. "
00:06:47.54\00:06:49.10
So Daniel is say that I was
given a vision and understood
00:06:49.14\00:06:51.97
it, it was long and goes
back now and recounts the vision
00:06:52.04\00:06:54.71
and now we come to the end
of it and what is Daniel told
00:06:54.78\00:06:57.45
in Daniel 12 verse 4?
00:06:57.48\00:06:59.38
Verse 4, is Gabriel continuing
00:06:59.41\00:07:01.72
to speak to Daniel but now he
00:07:01.78\00:07:04.12
is speaking to Daniel while
00:07:04.15\00:07:06.09
Daniel is not in vision.
00:07:06.12\00:07:07.99
Daniel awakes from his
dream and he hears the angel
00:07:08.02\00:07:12.99
Gabriel say to him, "but
thou Daniel, shut up the words,"
00:07:13.03\00:07:16.80
"and seal the book,
even to the time of the end:"
00:07:16.87\00:07:19.63
"many shall run to and fro, and
knowledge shall be increased. "
00:07:19.67\00:07:24.54
Now James, this
Scripture tells us that there is
00:07:24.57\00:07:27.74
going to be an increase
of knowledge specifically
00:07:27.78\00:07:30.88
at the end of time.

The immediate context
makes it clear that the increase

of knowledge at the end of
time, that is here foretold,

is an increase primarily
of prophetic knowledge.

It's Daniel's book of prophecies
that has been sealed up,

according to the angel Gabriel.

Having been sealed, Gabriel
says but at the end of time

that book of prophecies
is going to be unsealed.

It is going to be opened,

How is it going to be opened?

It is going to be open through
a process of running to and fro,

this is a reference to
the study of the Scriptures,

comparing Scripture with
Scripture, line upon line,

precept upon precept, allowing
Scripture to be it's own

interpreter, to unravel
and define the symbols of the

prophecies of
the book of Daniel.

As a result
knowledge is increased.

What kind of knowledge?

Knowledge of end time prophecy!

Yes, knowledge of the very
prophecies that were given to

Daniel, and not only
their significance, but the

significance of the new covenant
in context of that knowledge.

So we can see Ty, it is
important for viewers to
00:08:39.31\00:08:41.95
recognize, that this verse,
verse 4, is talking primarily of
00:08:41.98\00:08:46.35
the increase of knowledge
of Scriptures and the spiritual
00:08:46.39\00:08:50.36
truths Daniel was sharing,
or that was shared with Daniel.
00:08:50.43\00:08:54.36
In fact, in verse 8
Daniel says, of Chapter 12.
00:08:54.36\00:08:56.60
"And I heard, but I understood
not: then said I, O my"
00:08:56.63\00:08:59.30
"Lord, what shall be
the end of these things?"
00:08:59.33\00:09:01.04
So Daniel is still seeking
to understand the placement
00:09:01.07\00:09:05.24
of some of these prophecies.
00:09:05.27\00:09:06.61
He is still seeking, still
wrestling with, and grasping
00:09:06.64\00:09:09.01
with understanding of
their full significance.
00:09:09.04\00:09:11.31
There is no way, the
angel is basically telling him,

there is no way you can fully
understand this because most of
00:09:14.05\00:09:16.72
these events, these end time
events are not for your time.

They are beyond you.

But I think there is also
a second application here Ty.

We can see the knowledge
as it applies to the Bible,

but many running to and fro
and knowledge being increased,

that has to got to
imply to technology also.

When you look at the time of
the end, when you look at the

last century or two you see
us going from horse and buggy,

to horse and chariot,
to space rockets and the

technology just going.

I can buy a computer today
and it is outdated tomorrow.

We are looking at a time
when technology has increased

where men run to and fro
literally through this earth,

traveling across the
globe in a matter of hours as

opposed to places it would
have taken months to travel.

So certainly the increase, the
inventions, the technology and

science is another
striking illustration of the
00:10:02.66\00:10:06.40
time of the end.

James it is pretty evident
historically that there is

a direct correlation
between the increase of biblical
00:10:11.27\00:10:14.54
knowledge, scriptural
knowledge, spiritual growth, and
00:10:14.58\00:10:17.75
technological scientific
advancement in our world.

From the time that Gutenberg
invented the printing press

and knowledge became
readily available to the masses

through publications, we
see an exponential growth

in every area of science
and technological advance

all the way
carrying to our very time.

Absolutely, and so Daniel
here is told that there is going

to be a specific sign that
is going to indicate when his
00:10:42.20\00:10:45.84
prophecy are going
to be better understood.

It is the time of the end.
00:10:47.81\00:10:49.44
So Daniel and verse 5, he looks,
he sees one standing on one
00:10:49.48\00:10:54.08
side of the bank of the
river, someone standing on the
00:10:54.12\00:10:58.02
other side, "one says to the
man clothed in linen," verse 6.

The man clothed in linen
friends, is that same being
00:11:02.02\00:11:05.13
Jesus Christ in His glorified
state, that Daniel saw at
00:11:05.16\00:11:08.16
the beginning of his vision.
00:11:08.20\00:11:09.53
The question is asked, How
long shall be these wonders?
00:11:09.56\00:11:12.67
The answers given by "the
man clothed in linen, which was"
00:11:12.70\00:11:15.37
"upon the waters of the
river," verse 7, "when he held"
00:11:15.40\00:11:18.07
"up his right hand and
his left hand unto heaven,"
00:11:18.11\00:11:19.67
"and will swear by him that
lived with for ever that it"
00:11:19.71\00:11:23.01
"shall be for a time,
times, and a half; and when he"
00:11:23.04\00:11:25.98
"shall have accomplished
to scattered the power of the"
00:11:26.01\00:11:28.95
"holy people, all these
things shall be finished. "

"And I heard, but it understood
not: then said I, O my"
00:11:31.25\00:11:36.26
"Lord what shall be
the end of these things?"

Verse 9, "And he said, Go
thy way, Daniel; for the words"

"are closed up and sealed
till the time of the end. "

So here we have this
specific instruction.

I think Daniel primarily
does not understand these

time prophecies, these
are for us to understand.

Go your way Daniel, the
words are going to be sealed up.

It is going to be a specific
time prophecy and when those

time prophecies are fulfilled,
then your book is going

to be opened and people will
read it and they will understand

it, and knowledge will be
increased, and a proclamation

is going to go forth.

It is incredible to realize
that we live in that very time.

Here is Daniel receiving these

visions and the angel clearly

tells him, sorry Daniel but

there is no way you can

understand these things in
00:12:23.41\00:12:24.74
totality and it is going to
00:12:24.77\00:12:26.27
be closed up and sealed
for the time at the end.

It is as if James, these
prophecies were put in an
00:12:30.01\00:12:33.62
envelope, the envelope was
sealed, and then it was mailed
00:12:33.65\00:12:37.72
to the end time
period of human history.

Mailed literally to those
living at the end of time.

Mailed to us, God's
church at the end of time.

It is our privilege now
to unseal the book of Daniel

and it's prophecies and
to understand these things.

It is just amazing.

But not everyone is
going to understand them.

It says right here in verse 10

"many show be purified, and"

"made white, and tried; but the"

"wicked shall do wickedly: and"

"none of the
wicked shall understand;"

"but the wise
shall understand. "

I think this is important
because many times we look at
00:13:03.58\00:13:07.05
understanding the Bible as
something that is just owed
00:13:07.08\00:13:10.32
to us, intellectuals may
say I can read the Bible and I
00:13:10.35\00:13:13.56
know what it is saying.
00:13:13.62\00:13:14.96
No! Only when we give our
hearts fully to the Lord, we can
00:13:14.99\00:13:18.19
expect in the context of this
prophecy to go through trials,
00:13:18.23\00:13:21.76
to go through purification.

A lot of people don't
understand what trials do in the
00:13:24.47\00:13:28.07
lives of believers, but they
open our hearts and our minds

to see and understand
things on the Spiritual nature

that perhaps we don't see
and understand if we are not

seeking, truly seeking
God with all our heart.

Don't be discouraged, but
understand we live in the time

of the end and trials
are going to come to us.
