it was one of
those things where,

I had someone say,
boy I heard they're really

catching them down
there at Lake Siskiyou.

And I fished here before this
is not the first time I fished

and we caught fish.

So I have hope
that there's fishing

there's fish to be caught.

God never wants us

on the gospel side.

He just doesn't want us
to go blindly with no hope,

We've been fishing

we're just, we're just hoping

- And they says, no,
man, we fished all night.

their nets weren't as invisible

use today, they could be seen.

couldn't see their nets.

- That was a really interesting
story because he said,

that, we worked hard all night.

We didn't catch
them, there's no hope

thought Jesus must be what,

a city slicker
or something because

He had no idea how to fish.

- Well, you know, Oh Peter,
you know, he was one of those

quintessential fishermen
that he just kinda knew fishing,

you know, he and James and
John, they had it together.

- They grown up
there doing that.

- That's, you know,
other, their parents there
00:05:15.41\00:05:17.88
or fishermen that,
so they were fishermen.

And so he says,
he says there's hope.

Jesus spent so much
time on the sea of Galilee.

One of the stories to
me that is so exciting,

he'd preached to the crowds

for several days
and he's so tired.

And he tells the disciples
goes down the legs that get

in the boat and
score with the other side.

Now, today it is kinda cold
out here as lightly, storming.

It was raining earlier,
but they got out on that sea.

And it started really storming.

So much so the
Bible said basically

the boat was
filling up with water.

These are seasoned fishermen

and they're figuring
they're going to die.

No, you remember
what happened next.

- What was Jesus doing?

- He was sound asleep
in the back of the boat

and Peter just
goes, nuts, goes up to him

sees him at the last moment
is the Lord don't you care?

We're going to die.

- And of course he cared
because he cares about all of us

not just his best friends,

the fact that he was sleeping

didn't indicate he didn't care.

It indicated his
trust in the father.

water immediately stills.

storms in in our lives

everybody today has got
storms and their whole lives

what are we going to do?

stilled that water.

It just moved out like a mirror

and immediately bible
says got to the other shore,

the shore they're going to now

is really interesting to me,

that when he got in the
boat in the first place.

He said, let's go where to
the far shore, to the far shore

with go to the other side,
when God did you to go someplace

he doesn't leave
you in the middle.

- He dint say I'll
meet you over there.

- Yeah, and it also doesn't mean

that there won't be storms
on the way to the goalpost.

course we're facing that

a lot of that storm
right now, there you go.

We're, we're facing that

that storm right
now in this pandemic.

a lot of us are
wondering, is this the

just the beginning of
that final storm, you know?

And there are a lot of people

in the world if
they have no hope

if they don't have a
belief in God, that if they

if they haven't seen
how he works in your life

they don't have any hope there.

They look at the world
and they're going, man.

You know, it's just hopeless.

In fact, there's an estimate
that at least 75,000 people

in the United States are
likely to die from suicide

because of their loss of
hope because of the depression,

the, the the
just there's nothing

that they are
looking forward to.

- They don't see a way out.

- I know you mentioned that
the suicide and the depression

Jesus had gone over
to that other shore.

And the first thing
to net, there was a guy

who was absolutely crazy.

I mean, the Bible says
he had 2000 demons in him.

He's naked, he's screaming.

He he'd been cutting himself.

He'd been, you
know, self mutilating.

He'd been doing
all these things.

And what does it say?

All the disciples ran away.

That's the category.

I'd probably find myself
is this crazy man comes out

on the tomb and
you're not going to,

it looks like
he's going to kill you,

but Jesus stood his ground.

And he cast out
those 2000 demons.

That's, what's exciting,
whatever demons we've got

in our lives,
whatever you call it

whatever's
going on in your life.

there's no issue with him.

And that's one
of the things that

that a lot of people,
they don't understand.

The hugeness of God.

I've been reading
a little bit about

cosmological evidences for God.

And from the from the tiniest
Atom and subatomic particles

which are
increasingly more complex

we are amazed to
understand to the hugeness

of the of the universe maybe
a billion billion galaxies,

similar to ours.

The, the fact that God is
in control of all of that is,

You almost wonder, why does
he care about us on this planet?

people to know that too

that as we've talked
about this, that, yeah now

Jesus will take care of
everything while it's true.

There can be stages of that.

There could be
situations where you're

you're a medical
doctor, not in the profession,

probably speaking
of at the moment, but

but people may need
some other help to get

to those stages of
getting life together.

Again, is that a

- Absolutely,
and, not only does he

give us the spiritual health
that we need, but sometimes

he is given us the
medical help, not just it's

it's not just
the spiritual help,

but sometimes he's
equipped us with knowledge

about the incredible increase
in knowledge has given us

the ability to do things,

They, they can have
a lot better a result.

do is to rely on

someone who made the statement

And if there hadn't
been other people around

I wanted to rise up
because I've had periods

not as bad as
that man in the Bible

but I've had periods
where I'm not really coping.

I have had two periods
in my life where, because

of circumstances and
brain chemistry and hormones,

what, the
perfect storm of it all

where I have
everything has looked black,

it's been like a
black wet blanket over me

and I can barely breathe.

- And you're a
Christian who love Jesus.

- Yes, In fact, if I hadn't
had that, that glimmer of hope

I don't know that I
would still be here today.

When I was only 16,

I stood in front of the
medicine cabinet at home.

And my mother had quite the

And I stood there trying
to figure out what combination

some angel said no, don't

But at the
moment, I didn't know it.

I didn't feel like I had
anything to look forward to.

bunch of weeds or something

That little bit of hope.
