00:01 The following presentation was made by John Carter
00:03 to a crowd of more than 100,000 souls.
00:06 This message is one of a truth filled series
00:09 that was delivered in the power of God's Holy Spirit
00:12 at the Sir John Guise Stadium,
00:14 Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
00:17 One night as the evangelist spoke about the Holy Spirit,
00:20 a giant white bird flew low over the vast audience.
00:24 And the people rejoiced that God had visited His people.
00:28 Crowd surged forward to accept Christ as Lord and Savior.
00:32 A few days later thousands were baptized
00:35 in the sea at Ela Beach.
00:37 All who attended these Holy Spirit anointed meetings
00:40 were convinced that God's word is true
00:43 and His gospel is still the power of God
00:46 for the salvation of all who believe.
00:48 The message you're about to hear and see
00:51 will not leave you the same person.
00:54 Welcome to the Carter Report at the Sir John Guise Stadium,
00:57 Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
01:02 Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
01:04 How are you doing this evening?
01:07 Isn't this is a beautiful night tonight
01:10 and you're looking beautiful too.
01:11 It's just great to have you here this evening.
01:14 Now we are going to do something
01:15 just a little, little different right now.
01:19 People have come to me around the world
01:22 right here and they say, "How can I live longer?
01:27 How can I be stronger?
01:30 How can I be full of whim
01:33 and to avoid cancer and heart disease
01:37 and all of these awful sicknesses?
01:39 Now, what we're going to do just for a few minutes,
01:42 we're going to put some material up here on the screen.
01:45 You know, I've just got a super theme down here
01:49 and they're going to stop
01:51 putting this up on the screen now.
01:53 And we're going to talk about
01:54 some of the amazing secrets of health.
01:57 We're gonna call this "How Can I Be Healthy?"
02:03 And I want to tell my team, I'm just gonna stay out here,
02:06 I'm not gonna use any notes,
02:08 and so they'll have to run with it,
02:10 and I'll just run with them.
02:11 How about that? All right?
02:13 So we're just gonna get them to put it up on the screen.
02:17 The first thing, if you want to be healthy is,
02:20 "Believe in Jesus."
02:23 Let me tell you why?
02:25 If you believe in Jesus, you're going to have peace.
02:29 There is a text.
02:31 I think, it's John 15, I think I got it here.
02:35 Oh, John 16. I wasn't too far off. John 16:33.
02:40 "I have told you these things,
02:42 so that in me you may have peace.
02:45 In this world you will have trouble.
02:49 But take heart! I have overcome the world."
02:54 There is nothing that will destroy a man or a woman
02:59 quicker than a sense of anger and hatred and guilt.
03:07 You see, lots of anger on the roads, don't you?
03:10 Somebody is driving around the road
03:12 and maybe somebody cuts him off
03:14 and that person gets real mad
03:16 and they want to fight each other.
03:19 This is not good for people's health.
03:22 It puts up their blood pressure, it's bad for the heart,
03:25 but if you know Jesus as your Lord and your Savior,
03:30 you're going to have a marvelous peace
03:35 and that peace is good for your body
03:38 and that peace is good for your soul.
03:41 And here comes the next point. "Eat with wisdom."
03:48 What on earth does this mean to eat with wisdom?
03:53 Can't you just eat anything you want to?
03:56 Now, folks, I've been doing this work as I told you
03:59 since I was a young man out of college.
04:03 I've been doing this work now for more than 50 years.
04:09 And I've got the peace of God in my heart
04:11 because I believe in Jesus.
04:13 But by the grace of God, I try to follow the great truths
04:18 that are taught in the Bible concerning what to eat.
04:22 If you practice these, you're going to cut down
04:25 your chance of getting cancer
04:27 and heart disease in a remarkable way.
04:30 Now look at this, then God said.
04:32 This is back in Genesis 1:29.
04:36 "God said, 'I give you every seed-bearing plant
04:40 on the face of the whole earth
04:43 and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.
04:49 They will be yours for food.'"
04:51 The Bible tells us, if you want to be healthy,
04:54 try to eat a lot of fruit and eat nuts as well.
05:00 And then the Bible a little bit later on said,
05:03 "Eat the green leafy vegetables."
05:06 We now know research that has been carried out
05:10 in some of the greatest hospitals
05:13 and universities in the world tell us
05:16 that if you eat those foods,
05:19 those foods are going to help to stop cancer
05:24 getting a hold on your body.
05:27 And the Bible tells us these things
05:30 because God wants you to be happy,
05:33 God wants you to be healthy
05:34 because God loves you and God loves me.
05:38 So eat with wisdom.
05:40 And it says here, number three, "Eat clean foods."
05:47 What on earth does that mean eat clean foods?
05:53 Well, there is a text in the Book of Leviticus 11.
05:57 I'm going to read this slow to you,
05:59 but I want you all to think about this.
06:02 "Say to the Israelites, 'Of all the animals
06:06 that live on the land, these are the ones you may eat.
06:12 You may eat any animal that has a split hoof
06:15 completely divided and that chews the cud.'"
06:20 What sort of animal is that?
06:23 Well, that's a cow, that's a sheep, and that's a goat.
06:29 But the Bible says,
06:31 "The animals that don't do those things are unclean to you
06:36 because they will cause you to get disease."
06:42 "These are some that only chew the cud
06:44 or only have a split hoof, but you must not eat them.
06:48 The camel, who would want to eat a camel anyhow.
06:51 "The camel, though it chews the cud,
06:54 does not have a split hoof.
06:57 It is ceremonially unclean to you.
07:01 'The coney,' that's like a little rabbit,
07:04 "though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof.
07:07 It is unclean for you.
07:09 The rabbit, though it chews the cud,
07:11 does not have a split hoof.
07:14 It is unclean for you.
07:16 And the pig, all though it has a split hoof completely divided,
07:22 does not chew the cud.
07:24 It is unclean for you.
07:27 You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses.
07:32 They are unclean for you."
07:34 Because these animals help cause disease.
07:38 "Of all the creatures living in the water of the sea
07:41 and the streams you may eat any that have fins and scales.
07:47 But all creatures in the seas or streams
07:52 that do not have fins and scales-whether among
07:56 all the swarming things or among all the other
07:59 living creatures in the water-you are to detest.'"
08:06 I'm going to tell you something
08:08 that the smartest people in the world now realized.
08:14 If you and I follow the great truths
08:17 that are taught in the Bible, we are going to live longer,
08:21 we are going to feel better,
08:24 and we're not going to have the cancers,
08:26 and the heart disease, and everything else
08:29 that unbelievers suffer from.
08:32 Now I know that Christians also get sick.
08:36 I know this.
08:37 But if you follow the health laws of the Bible,
08:40 you're going to be healthier, you're going to be stronger,
08:43 you're going to look younger,
08:45 and you're going to have a tremendous inner vitality.
08:50 Now here's the next point.
08:53 Now I can't give you the text on this one,
08:56 but I put this in here just for your interest.
08:59 "Avoid lots of starchy foods."
09:03 If you eat a lot of starchy foods.
09:06 I know what I'm talking about because I study a lot
09:09 and I use this matter up here between my ears
09:14 and I know if I eat a lot of starchy food,
09:18 a little while after I've eaten the starchy food,
09:21 I feel as though I want to go to sleep.
09:27 And so we now know from the United States of America,
09:31 from Australia and from the great universities
09:34 that the health laws of the Bible are absolutely true
09:40 and God has given us these health laws because He loves us.
09:43 Now we're going to go to something else.
09:46 Your body--or what does the Bible say about the body?
09:52 Well, there is a text in the Book of Corinthians,
09:55 it says, "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple
10:02 and that God's Spirit lives in you?
10:06 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him,
10:13 for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."
10:17 Now look at me for a moment, please.
10:20 The Bible tells me. This is not my idea.
10:24 This is the teaching of God's word.
10:26 The Bible says, "This body is sacred.
10:31 It is the temple for the Holy Spirit."
10:34 And the Bible says, "You ought to take care of the temple."
10:39 And the Bible says, "If you defile the temple of God--"
10:43 The Bible says, "If you destroy the temple of God,
10:48 God will destroy you."
10:52 That is why, my friend, I don't smoke cigarettes.
10:58 We now know that millions of people around the world.
11:03 You say, million? Yeah, millions.
11:06 Millions and millions of people around the world die every year
11:11 because they smoke tobacco.
11:15 Tobacco defiles the temple of God.
11:19 And God wants you to keep your temple for the Holy Spirit.
11:25 Now I'm going to say something
11:27 that I don't want to offend anybody,
11:30 but I'm going to say it because I love you.
11:34 A Christian because he knows
11:36 that the body is the temple of God
11:39 will not put into that body
11:41 anything that's going to defile it.
11:44 Such as, drugs.
11:48 One of the greatest problems today in the world
11:51 and in America, in Australia, in Russia
11:54 right around the world is the misuse of drugs.
12:00 Taking marijuana, even taking some of those terribly awful
12:06 hard drugs that defiled the temple of God
12:10 and that sends the mind absolutely crazy.
12:14 Now I'm going to say something here tonight
12:16 and I don't want you to be offended
12:19 just because betel nut is legal,
12:22 it doesn't make it right.
12:25 Betel nut is a drug that defiles the body, the temple of God.
12:33 And I want you to know tonight, God tells us these things,
12:37 not so that we'll have to give up anything that is good,
12:40 but God wants you to live longer, look better,
12:45 feel fitter and just beyond top of the world
12:50 and filled with peace, and filled with joy,
12:54 and filled with happiness.
12:56 And I tell you this tonight
12:57 because God loves you and so do I.
13:08 Now, hey, how old do you think I am?
13:16 I'll tell you.
13:17 Do you wanna know how old I am?
13:20 Hey, will you tell me how old you are then?
13:23 I want every person here tonight to tell me how old he is,
13:26 how old are you?
13:28 Well, there is someone down here is 7.
13:31 Okay, do you think I'm doing okay?
13:35 Do you think I'm--when I'm running these lectures,
13:37 do you think I'm doing okay that I've got energy?
13:40 Yeah! Okay, I am 73.
13:47 And I've been--I've been doing this work for 50 years.
13:52 And I want to tell you something else.
13:54 Are you ready for this? Yeah!
13:56 All right, you need to exercise.
14:00 Everyday I walk and run 3 or 4 miles,
14:05 that's about 6 to 7 or 8 kilometers.
14:10 I do it religiously.
14:12 I'm up early in the morning and here in PNG,
14:15 I'm staying at Pacific Adventist University and I exercise there.
14:21 And back in the United States, I've got a big elliptical
14:25 and I work that for 30 minutes a day.
14:28 I burn up about--I burn up about 400 calories doing this,
14:34 and then I exercise also by going for walks and by running.
14:40 Listen to me, if you exercise,
14:45 it's going to help you to avoid cancer.
14:47 We know--we know this for a fact.
14:49 If you exercise, it's going to make your hearts strong.
14:52 If you exercise, it's going to give you energy.
14:56 And the best people in the world today,
14:58 the best minds, the best scholars,
15:03 the smartest people are the people
15:06 who obey the Commandments of God
15:09 and who follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
15:13 So I want you to know this tonight.
15:15 If you come--because you come to these meetings,
15:19 if you will put into practice,
15:21 what you've heard in these meetings,
15:23 you're going to be the most successful people in PNG.
15:28 You're going to be the head.
15:30 You're going to be the most successful,
15:32 the most healthy, the most prosperous
15:35 and the wealthiest people in all of PNG
15:39 because God is going to bless you
15:42 because you obey His commandments.
15:46 This is just the truth.
15:49 Now, ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome tonight
15:53 that wonderful Christian gentleman, the great singer
15:56 from the United States of America,
15:58 Pastor Willie Garcia?
16:20 I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord
16:37 I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord
16:56 Plans to prosper you
17:04 Plans never to harm you
17:12 Plans to give you a hope and a future

20:18 That's God's word These are the plans
20:21 Every promises yea and amen
20:24 These are the plans
20:25 These are the plans that I have for you
20:39 Thank You, Lord
20:44 Thank You that You are a restorer of Your people
20:49 These are the plans, God's plans
21:05 Are you folks ready for a great meeting tonight?
21:08 Let me hear it. Yes!
21:10 God is good. All the time!
21:13 All the time. God is good.
21:15 Maranatha. Jesus is coming!
21:18 Jesus is coming. Maranatha!
21:21 Hallelujah. Praise the Lord!
21:24 Hey, you are just a super great audience.
21:27 Now let me tell you this right from my heart.
21:31 This meeting tonight is not important, it is beyond that.
21:38 I'm going to talk about
21:40 how to have freedom from guilt, and fear, and sin?
21:45 How you can know that you are saved
21:50 and you have passed from death unto life?
21:53 How you can know for certainty that you're going to go a home
21:58 with Jesus to paradise?
22:00 And so I want to say tonight, I'm just so glad you're here
22:04 because this meeting is going to touch your heart.
22:08 People's lives are going to be changed tonight.
22:12 And tonight, I believe the Spirit of God
22:14 is going to come into this meeting
22:16 and God is going to bless this meeting
22:19 with His tremendous power.
22:21 Can you say amen to that my friend?
22:24 Amen! Now we have with us tonight
22:27 a great leader of the Christian Church in PNG.
22:33 He is an old friend. He is a warrior of the cross.
22:38 Please, welcome Pastor Tony Kemo.
22:50 I want to complement you tonight, Pastor Kemo.
22:53 Oh, what a magnificent audience
22:56 as the Queen of Sheba said to Solomon,
22:58 "The half was not told."
23:01 I've never spoken the sweeter,
23:04 nicer people than the people here in Port Moresby,
23:08 and we have had huge magnificent wonderful crowds.
23:13 And I want to thank you for inviting us to PNG
23:17 because you were the person who got everything going
23:21 and I want you to know that we are deeply grateful
23:24 from our hearts to you, and we thank you tonight.
23:29 Now we want you to stand
23:30 and we're going to have the prayer.
23:37 "Our gracious and loving Father in Heaven,
23:43 we bow before your awesome presence,
23:46 acknowledging Your majesty and Your greatness.
23:52 We want to praise You and thank You that Jesus Christ
23:58 is the same yesterday, today and forever.
24:03 We praise You and thank You
24:05 for the wonderful country that we have.
24:09 Our government allows the freedom
24:13 of worship and fellowship.
24:15 The freedom of speech that Your word can be proclaim
24:20 by Your anointed servant to reach the hearts of every person
24:26 who is here tonight in this vast auditorium.
24:32 We thank You, Heavenly Father,
24:36 that You have given us a wonderful health
24:39 and because of that good health
24:42 that we can travel from far and near
24:45 to come to meet with You, and meet with Your servant
24:52 who is anointed by God the Holy Spirit
24:56 to proclaim Your words of love that will drove everyone
25:01 to the Lord Jesus Christ tonight.
25:05 In our earnest plea tonight is Heavenly Father
25:10 as the word of God reaches out,
25:14 God the Holy Spirit who is already at work
25:19 will touch the lives of the people and change them
25:24 into Your own image, so that everyone
25:28 as they move away from this meeting place tonight
25:32 that they will know that they are never the same again
25:35 because You've touched them with Your love
25:39 and You have touched them with Your power that changed them
25:43 to be obedience to do Your will.
25:46 Thank You, Heavenly Father, for listening to us.
25:49 May You bless this vast audience tonight
25:53 and as Your word touch each one of them,
25:58 they will go away knowing that they have found Jesus
26:02 in this meeting place.
26:05 Thank You for listening to us in Your wonderful name, amen. Amen.
26:12 Paul, the evangelist says in the Bible
26:15 that "God will finish His work
26:16 and cut it short in righteousness."
26:19 The prophet Joel says, "God will pour out His Spirit
26:21 in the last days, and signs and wonders will follow."
26:25 The Carter Report believes that we are now in the end times
26:28 and His Spirit is moving mightily.
26:31 During the Port Moresby campaign,
26:33 we testify that we saw the power of God revealed.
26:37 God-hungry souls
26:40 could not get enough of the word of the Lord.
26:43 As at creation, the Spirit of God moved upon
26:46 the face of the waters and God brought cosmos out of chaos.
26:51 Souls were recreated in the image of the Creator.
26:55 Instead of hate, there was love.
26:57 Instead of despair, there was hope.
26:59 Instead of sorrow, there was joy.
27:01 And in the place of death, God gave life.
27:05 One night, as John Carter preached on the person
27:08 and work of the Holy Spirit, the image of a white bird
27:11 was flashed on the screens.
27:13 At that moment, a great white bird
27:15 flew low over the astonished congregation.
27:18 Cries of joy filled the air, as the audience recognized
27:22 that God had visited His people.
27:24 A mighty surge of Pentecostal power swept the audience
27:28 of 120,000 souls and everyone present
27:32 felt the warmth comforting presence of God.
27:36 The Carter Report team invites you,
27:37 my dear viewer, to be a partner in this work.

28:14 I want you to know this tonight, I want to talk to you,
28:17 I don't care who you are tonight,
28:19 we are all sinners.
28:25 And the evidence of our sin is manifested in so many ways,
28:32 but the Bible tells me, "Thank God, hallelujah.
28:36 There is a cure for the deadly virus of sin."
28:42 The Bible tells me that God
28:46 became a man, hallelujah.
28:51 I want you to notice Romans 5:6-8.
28:58 Book of Romans written by the great Apostle Paul.
29:04 Romans 5, "You see, he said.
29:08 At just the right time, when we were still powerless,
29:13 Christ died for the ungodly."
29:15 You may say tonight, "I've been ungodly person,
29:19 nobody cares about me."
29:20 Christ died for the ungodly.
29:23 "Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man,
29:29 though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
29:36 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this,
29:39 while we were still sinners,
29:44 Christ died for us."
29:48 I want to tell you tonight that the greatest news
29:51 that this poor all world needs tonight is the good news
29:56 that God love us and He gave His own Son.
30:00 The Bible tells us that God,
30:03 the Creator of the universe became a man
30:07 and He came down to this earth.
30:12 I want you to try to take this in.
30:14 It's an incomprehensible truth,
30:17 but the Bible teaches the God, the great Creator.
30:22 Look at that screen, would you?
30:26 God the great Creator, the Almighty Yahweh,
30:33 Elohim was born of the blessed Virgin Mary.
30:40 God became a man.
30:42 And the Bible tells us, "He walked among us
30:46 and He showed us all that compassion and all that love."
30:49 And the Bible tells us, "He went to the cross
30:54 and paid for all of our sins with His own precious blood."
30:58 There is a cure.
31:01 It is the blood of Jesus Christ.
31:04 Listen...there is a text in the Bible,
31:10 and it's a greatest text, and I'm sure that most
31:13 of you know the text, but I am going
31:17 to put it up on the screen.
31:20 It's God's message to you tonight.
31:23 Look at it. "For God so loved the world."
31:27 He so loved PNG.
31:30 He so loved the thief.
31:32 He so loved the adulterer, the fornicator,
31:36 the liar, the cheat.
31:38 The Bible says, "For God so loved the world
31:44 that he gave his one and only Son,
31:49 that whoever believes in him shall not perish
31:53 but have, hallelujah, eternal life."
31:58 Listen, just listen.
32:03 Did you know this?
32:07 If you had been the only sinner,
32:11 God would have come down and died for you.
32:16 You say I can't believe it.
32:18 It is the truth.
32:20 If there had been only one
32:24 lost soul and he lived in PNG,
32:29 God would have become a man and died on the cross
32:34 for that one lost soul.
32:40 I want you to know tonight the heart of God loves you.
32:48 You may say, God doesn't care about me, that's not true.
32:52 You may say, God doesn't care about
32:54 my family, that's not true.
32:55 God knows all about you.
32:58 Jesus said the very hairs of your head
33:02 are all numbered He says, "I have loved you
33:07 with an everlasting love."
33:10 Listen to this.
33:13 In Russia, where I've been 42 times.
33:19 The communist set up the Gaelic,
33:23 a system of concentration camps
33:29 right out of hell.
33:33 Large number of these concentration camps
33:37 run by the atheists and the communists.
33:42 And in these camps they use to torture people
33:46 particularly Christians,
33:49 the atheists tortured them.
33:55 On one occasion some communist guards were torturing
34:00 a poor atheist and he was cursing
34:04 and he was blaspheming.
34:08 And a Christian said, I want you to do it to me
34:13 and let this man go free.
34:17 And the guard said, "Are you crazy?
34:21 Are you a born fool?"
34:27 The Christian said, if you torture me,
34:32 I will cry because the pain will be great
34:36 but I'll ask God to bless you and the blessing
34:41 will go out into the world, but when you torture
34:45 an unbeliever the world becomes more poisoned.
34:51 So those Christians in the Gaelic
34:54 would take the curses upon themselves
34:58 and they would be tortured, that's what Jesus did.
35:06 Jesus was tortured for you.
35:09 He went to the cross for you.
35:12 He went through pain and suffering for you.
35:16 He bore the sin of the world.
35:20 It crushed his soul.
35:23 It killed Him in a few hours.
35:25 My friend, will you not believe in Him, I ask you?
35:31 Will this not soften our hard stony hearts?
35:35 Some of us here tonight
35:37 I know have got hard unyielding hearts.
35:43 I want you to think, how much He loves you.
35:49 Bishop Fulton Sheen when he spoke about
35:52 the cross said these words.
35:56 For one brief moment in time he was unfold
36:04 on the cross like a wounded eagle.
36:13 He went to the cross
36:15 to pay the price of our sins.
36:22 What really happened on the cross?
36:27 He was a strong young man.
36:30 He was used to hard work.
36:32 He was not lazy.
36:35 He was sun tender and muscular.
36:41 He became a preacher
36:43 then the tide of popular opinion turned against Him.
36:47 The religious leaders handed Him over to the Romans.
36:54 And then they took Him and they tried Him,
36:58 it was a kangaroo caught and then
37:01 they put Him on the Roman cross.
37:04 Who was this man?
37:09 This man was God in flesh.
37:12 This was El Shaddai, this was Yahweh Elohim,
37:16 this was the Almighty God who would come down from heaven
37:21 and who was bearing our sins, He was bearing our shame
37:26 and He was wearing it all in His own body on the tree.
37:30 Listen, on the cross He cried out.
37:39 "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?
37:45 You say to me, but this is not the cry of a man
37:49 with peace in his heart.
37:51 This is not the cry of a Christian
37:55 who is right with God and who is dying.
37:59 This is not the cry of a righteous man.
38:03 This is the cry of a great sinner.
38:12 On the cross Jesus, the sinless man
38:19 took all our sins upon Him.
38:24 And the Father judged him for John Carter's sin.
38:29 He was judged on the cross and He was judged
38:35 guilty, guilty, guilty God said.
38:39 God said let the judgment fall upon My Son
38:45 and he could not see His Father's face
38:49 and in agony He cried out "My God, my God,
38:54 why have you forsaken me?"
38:59 He did not die as a Christian.
39:03 He died as a lost soul...
39:10 even though He was the Son of God.
39:14 Who was this man?
39:16 This man was the creator of the universe.
39:25 I'm going to come over here to the blackboard.
39:29 We're gonna have a camera come with me
39:31 and I'm going to put off an illustration of the cross
39:35 and you will be able to see it even though
39:38 you're sitting way back, you will be able to see it
39:41 on the giant screens.
39:45 Here we have the Cross of Christ.
39:50 Up here on this side we put Christ,
39:55 the sinless Son of God.
39:57 And over here we put "Us", you and me.
40:03 Christ was sinless.
40:07 He never committed a sin.
40:09 We are sinful.
40:15 I want you to know this.
40:16 He was sinless and we are sinful.
40:20 He had perfect righteousness.
40:26 There was no sin in Him, He was perfectly
40:30 and totally innocent and holy, He was immaculate.
40:37 But over on this side "Us" we are unrighteous.
40:43 The Bible says, "There is none righteous no not one."
40:50 And Christ had perfect peace and perfect joy
40:54 because He was right with God.
40:56 And Christ enjoyed everlasting life in communion
41:02 with His Holy Father, and because we are sinful
41:07 and unrighteous, we will have eternal death
41:12 unless Christ will save us.
41:16 I want you to know tonight, if you and I die in our sins,
41:23 if we die with hate in our hearts,
41:27 if we die with malice, if we die in our fornication,
41:32 the Bible tells us that we will experience eternal death
41:36 and we will be raised in the judgment of the unrighteous
41:42 and we will then taste the hell of the last stage
41:47 that is mentioned and described in the Bible.
41:51 But now I want to come here to come back with me
41:53 and I want you see what happened.
41:56 On the cross, Jesus Christ came and stood over here,
42:03 He took our place and in the side of a holy
42:07 and a righteous God, Christ became
42:10 in the side of God, sinful, unrighteous
42:14 and he tasted eternal death.
42:17 That is why He cried out with the heart
42:20 that was bursting with pain.
42:23 "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
42:27 He felt a doomed and a lost soul.
42:31 And Christ took all of this upon Himself because He loves you,
42:37 and because He loves me.
42:40 And He did all of this, so that you and I, us,
42:44 we can be regarded by God as sinless and righteous
42:49 and have eternal life which is simply given to us
42:53 as a gift by the grace of God.
42:58 That is the glory and that, my friend,
43:01 is the mystery of the cross.
43:04 And there is nothing that compares on to it.
43:07 Now tonight I say to you as you sit here,
43:12 you and I cannot take this into our souls
43:15 unless the Holy Spirit shows us that we are sinners.
43:20 We need to see ourselves tonight as sinners,
43:24 but more than this we need to see Christ,
43:26 dying for our sins on the cross.
43:30 And if we will see this tonight,
43:32 we will parse from death unto life
43:35 and we will have peace and joy and happiness.
43:39 This is the word of the Lord.
43:43 The good news that Christ says,
43:45 "If we come to Him with all our sins just as we are,
43:50 He will accept us, He will forgive us,
43:54 He will renew us, He'll turn us into the children of God."
44:01 500 years ago in Germany, a miner and his wife,
44:06 had a little baby boy, his name was Martin Luther.
44:13 When he grew up, he became an earnest
44:17 Roman Catholic, but he never read the Bible,
44:21 he didn't have the Bible.
44:23 And one day he was caught out in a storm
44:26 and there was a tremendous burst of lightening
44:30 and he was knocked to the ground and in the fear
44:35 that whirled up in his heart, Martin Luther cried out to Lord.
44:38 "I will become a monk."
44:45 So he became an Augustinian monk.
44:51 And he prayed a lot and he did penance.
44:54 And sometimes he would whip his back
44:57 until the blood was flowing.
45:00 He was trying to get right with God.
45:03 He was trying to become a righteous person.
45:06 Have you tried that?
45:10 Martin Luther, the great Roman Catholic scholar
45:14 had no peace with God and he tried to find peace
45:18 with God through penance, with the whip and the lash.
45:25 And then he was sent as a monk down to the City of Rome
45:31 out of petition to see the pope.
45:35 And what he saw in Rome, shook him to the core.
45:40 He saw corruption.
45:44 He said, "I thought I was going to go to heaven
45:48 when I went to Rome."
45:52 And he saw the sale of indulgences
45:57 and he saw the relics.
45:59 They said, "This is the bone of this saint,
46:02 this is the bone of that saint."
46:04 And so they had all of the holy bones.
46:09 And as Martin Luther visited these so called holy places.
46:15 And my friend, he was an earnest, good,
46:19 Roman Catholic monk, a priest.
46:24 He went and he kissed the feet of Saint Peter.
46:29 He looked at all the beautiful statues,
46:33 the idols, and he looked at the crosses,
46:37 and then he climbed up
46:39 the Scala Sancta, the holy stair.
46:43 And as Martin Luther, the earnest
46:46 Roman Catholic priest was climbing up the Scala Sancta,
46:50 a voice spoke to his soul
46:53 and the voice said, "They just shall live by faith.
47:01 And he got up and he said, "I wonder could it be so.
47:07 I don't need to do penance.
47:09 I don't need to crawl on my knees.
47:12 I don't need to do works of righteousness
47:15 in order to be saved,
47:17 maybe I need to go and study my Bible more."
47:24 Back in the University in Wittenberg,
47:27 he started to read the Holy Bible,
47:32 and he came upon Romans 1:16 and 17.
47:39 I want you to get this text in your heart tonight.
47:44 My friend, I am desperate tonight for your souls.
47:50 I want you to come to Christ tonight.
47:52 I want you to be justified by faith.
47:56 I want you to find salvation tonight.
47:59 I want you to know
48:00 that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin.
48:05 This is the text he read.
48:07 "I am not ashamed of the gospel.
48:10 I am not ashamed to the gospel.
48:12 I am not ashamed of the gospel,
48:14 because it is the power of God
48:17 for the salvation of everyone who believes,
48:20 first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
48:24 For in the gospel a righteousness
48:27 from God is revealed,
48:29 a righteousness that is by faith
48:32 from first to last, just as it is written,
48:37 'The righteous will live by faith.'"
48:42 And Martin Luther saw it.
48:50 He went along to his confessor. He saw it.
48:55 The Bible talks about the righteousness by God,
49:00 the righteousness of God.
49:03 He saw it, but it didn't give him peace.
49:08 He went along to the wonderful priest
49:11 who heard his confession and he said, "I have a problem."
49:17 And the priest said, "What is your problem?"
49:19 He said, "I hate God."
49:24 "Martin, this is blasphemy.
49:26 You cannot hate God. We must love God."
49:29 He said, "I hate God."
49:30 He said, "Why do you hate God?"
49:32 He said, "Because I am a sinner and God is righteous.
49:38 And therefore because I'm a sinner
49:41 and God who is righteous, God must hate me.
49:47 And if He hates me, I hate Him.
49:50 And this is my unpardonable sin.
50:00 So he whipped his back bit more and the blood flowed
50:06 and he continued to read the Bible.
50:09 And then he saw it differently,
50:13 he had a revelation from the throne of God.
50:16 And you can have this revelation tonight
50:18 in this meeting glory, hallelujah.
50:21 Jesus come now, reveal Yourself to these people.
50:27 He had a revelation.
50:29 He discovered that when the Bible talks
50:32 about the righteousness of God in these verses,
50:37 it is not to condemn us, it is to save us,
50:41 it is the righteousness that comes from Jesus
50:47 and because Jesus died for our sins
50:52 and because He paid the price,
50:55 Jesus who was the righteous one gives us His righteousness
51:02 as a free gift and you can have it tonight.
51:06 It is yours tonight, if you will only believe.
51:12 My friend, believe tonight.
51:18 And thus who started the mighty reformation
51:22 that swift around the world.
51:27 And the countries that accepted
51:29 the gospel of righteousness by faith
51:33 became the most prosperous nations,
51:37 they became the best nations,
51:40 they became the healthiest nations,
51:44 they became the nations where everybody wanted to live.
51:51 Listen, if you will surely believe in Christ
52:03 and if you and I will truly give our sins to Christ,
52:09 He'll take our sins and He'll give us
52:13 His righteousness as a gift.
52:18 His blood will cover all of our sins.
52:22 And tonight we will parse from death unto life
52:28 and our names will be written in the Book of Life.
52:35 I have a great conviction tonight
52:37 that the Spirit of God is here.
52:40 I can feel Him here. I can sense He is here.
52:45 And I'm going to say tonight,
52:47 if you want your life to be covered with the blood of Jesus,
52:52 if you want to be saved tonight and parse from death unto life,
52:57 I am going to ask you just to come down to front here
52:59 because I need to pray for you.
53:02 This is the most important thing you can do tonight,
53:05 to have your life under the blood of Jesus.
53:07 I'm going to ask you to come now.
53:11 I'm going to ask the people in the bleachers to come,
53:14 people far back.
53:17 Tonight, God is offering you salvation.
53:23 He is offering you a new life.
53:27 He is offering you forgiveness.
53:30 Maybe somebody has come in here tonight,
53:33 that person has done some terrible crimes.
53:37 You know what those crimes are?
53:39 Maybe nobody else knows, but you know.
53:43 But tonight you're going to come
53:46 and you're going to believe in Jesus,
53:49 and your sins are gonna be washed away.
53:53 And as you come tonight, I don't know who you are,
53:55 but I want to tell you,
53:57 on Saturday morning, on the Sabbath morning,
53:59 we're going to have a baptism down in the river.
54:02 You ought to be in that baptism.
54:04 Everybody who has heard this great truth, you need to come.
54:10 I'm just God's poor instrument of truth,
54:13 but God has called me here tonight.
54:16 And I'm here tonight because I have a message
54:20 from the word of God for you.
54:23 And if tonight, you feel that you need
54:26 to have your sins washed away in the blood of Christ,
54:31 I'm asking you to come.
54:34 And tonight we don't come because we're good.
54:38 We don't come because we're righteous,
54:40 because the Bible says,
54:42 "There is none righteous, no not one."
54:45 We come because we need a Savior.
54:49 We come because we're sinners.
54:52 We come because we're unclean.
54:56 There is no good thing in us,
54:58 but we come tonight
55:00 because we want to be washed in the blood of Christ.
55:05 Tonight, I want you to get up out of that seat
55:08 and I want you to come down,
55:10 and I'm going to wait for you just another minute or two.
55:14 But we have thousands of people have come down here tonight
55:17 and we've come down here tonight
55:20 because we're believing in Jesus
55:23 and we're having our sins washed away
55:27 and we're going home to glory.
55:33 Who are these people attending the Carter Report
55:35 at the Sir John Guise Stadium, Port Moresby, New Papua Guinea?

55:53 There are husbands and wives with their families.
55:56 There are the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak.
56:00 They are being told that Christ alone is the way,
56:03 the truth and the life.
56:05 They are hearing the words of life
56:07 and their hearts are being strangely warmed.
56:10 Sometimes they feel that their hearts will burst
56:13 and they feel compel to hurry down to the front
56:16 to publicly confess the Savior.
56:18 They are shown in the scriptures
56:20 that God commands men everywhere to repent and be baptized.
56:24 They respond with the holy devotion
56:27 and a passionate intensity.
