It is blessing to talk about India from India. 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.37 India is the largest democratic nation in the world, 00:00:03.40\00:00:06.20 with many languages, cultures and religion. 00:00:06.23\00:00:09.90 But who would guess one nation with 1.39 billion people, 00:00:09.94\00:00:14.84 India has freedom of speech so that one can talk, 00:00:14.88\00:00:18.61 teach and preach. 00:00:18.65\00:00:21.18 Pastor John Carter has started his gospel meetings in public 00:00:21.22\00:00:26.02 in India in 2006, 00:00:26.05\00:00:28.12 and he found that millions of people are unaware 00:00:28.16\00:00:31.93 of the gospel. 00:00:31.96\00:00:33.29 So he started his television programs in 2007 till today, 00:00:33.33\00:00:37.63 nonstop. 00:00:37.67\00:00:39.00 In one of the South Indian languages called Telugu 00:00:39.03\00:00:42.00 that is taking this gospel to nearly 500 million people. 00:00:42.04\00:00:46.14 And in last two deadly years, 00:00:46.17\00:00:48.81 there are millions of people dying in India with COVID 00:00:48.84\00:00:51.71 without knowing Jesus, 00:00:51.75\00:00:53.08 and that has pushed Pastor John Carter 00:00:53.11\00:00:55.25 to start his television programs in Hindi, 00:00:55.28\00:00:57.95 aiming to reach nearly a billion people. 00:00:57.99\00:01:00.86 And it is, it became possible just because of your help. 00:01:00.89\00:01:04.69 We thank you, everyone. 00:01:04.73\00:01:06.16 We thank every family of yours, 00:01:06.19\00:01:08.70 because you're standing in support 00:01:08.73\00:01:10.10 to Pastor John Carter, to do this great work in India. 00:01:10.13\00:01:13.20 We also pray God to strengthen you more, 00:01:13.23\00:01:16.10 to extend your support to Pastor John Carter, 00:01:16.14\00:01:18.27 to do this work in India in future also. 00:01:18.31\00:01:20.51 We love you. We thank you. 00:01:20.54\00:01:22.44 God bless you. 00:01:22.48\00:01:23.81 People around the world keep the spirit of Christmas 00:01:26.31\00:01:29.52 in different ways. 00:01:29.55\00:01:31.45 Some celebrate the birth of Christ with old traditions, 00:01:31.49\00:01:35.42 nativity scenes, caroling, and sleigh rides. 00:01:35.46\00:01:40.93 Others prepare a family feast 00:01:40.96\00:01:42.93 or serve dinner at the local homeless shelter. 00:01:42.96\00:01:46.60 Festive decorations go up inside and outside homes. 00:01:46.63\00:01:51.51 Others keep Christmas only in their hearts 00:01:51.54\00:01:54.31 because to celebrate the birth of Christ in some cultures 00:01:54.34\00:01:57.91 is dangerous. 00:01:57.95\00:01:59.95 So the question becomes, 00:01:59.98\00:02:01.62 not only how do we keep Christmas 00:02:01.65\00:02:03.55 in our own special way, 00:02:03.59\00:02:05.65 but how shall we keep Christmas at all? 00:02:05.69\00:02:09.22 Here is Pastor John Carter. 00:02:09.26\00:02:11.06 Hello, friend. 00:02:16.46\00:02:18.50 Welcome today to the Carter Report. 00:02:18.53\00:02:20.44 This is a very special program 00:02:20.47\00:02:24.04 and we give you a very special welcome. 00:02:24.07\00:02:28.01 Years ago, 00:02:28.04\00:02:29.58 in Communist Berlin, there was a poor fellow 00:02:29.61\00:02:33.62 who was thrown into this dreadful dungeon. 00:02:33.65\00:02:37.92 He was a prisoner of conscience. 00:02:37.95\00:02:40.59 The Communists were starving him. He was freezing cold 00:02:40.62\00:02:45.19 and after some months he wondered, 00:02:45.23\00:02:48.16 how can I last any longer? 00:02:48.20\00:02:51.23 Then it was December 25, Christmas day. 00:02:51.27\00:02:56.40 A day the same as every other day under the Communists 00:02:56.44\00:02:59.71 who did not believe in Christ, 00:02:59.74\00:03:03.75 but then something quite amazing happened. 00:03:03.78\00:03:07.12 There was a banging on the prison door 00:03:07.15\00:03:10.39 instead of pushing the little bit of food 00:03:10.42\00:03:12.79 through the slit in the door, 00:03:12.82\00:03:15.39 the guard had arrived, he was big Communist, 00:03:15.42\00:03:19.69 this big German. 00:03:19.73\00:03:23.00 He pushed open the door 00:03:23.03\00:03:24.73 and he came into the prison cell carrying this huge tray 00:03:24.77\00:03:29.80 groaning with food. 00:03:29.84\00:03:32.47 There was this big plate of steaming vegetables, 00:03:32.51\00:03:36.58 all sorts of food. 00:03:36.61\00:03:38.88 In a very gruff voice, 00:03:38.91\00:03:41.68 the big Communist guard shouted at the prisoner 00:03:41.72\00:03:45.75 and comrade, 00:03:45.79\00:03:48.16 "Happy Christmas, Merry Christmas to you." 00:03:48.19\00:03:52.86 The prisoner was amazed. 00:03:56.06\00:03:58.93 This was the greatest gift 00:03:58.97\00:04:00.44 he had ever received in all his life. 00:04:00.47\00:04:05.07 Later on some years later, 00:04:05.11\00:04:06.98 and I read the story about 60 years ago 00:04:07.01\00:04:10.58 when I was a boy. 00:04:10.61\00:04:14.15 I read this article in the Reader's Digest, 00:04:14.18\00:04:16.52 it was entitled 00:04:16.55\00:04:18.35 "Nobody owes me a Christmas." 00:04:18.39\00:04:23.19 He told of the joy that flooded into his soul, 00:04:23.22\00:04:26.43 into his heart, in this Communist cell 00:04:26.46\00:04:31.67 in East Berlin on December 25. 00:04:31.70\00:04:36.64 Somehow, even in this hell-hole, 00:04:36.67\00:04:42.14 the Spirit of Christ had come flooding in 00:04:42.18\00:04:47.15 and he had been filled with joy. 00:04:47.18\00:04:52.79 Now, my friend, 00:04:52.82\00:04:56.19 it doesn't matter whether you believe in December 25 or not. 00:04:56.22\00:05:01.00 Most of us know that Jesus was not born 00:05:01.03\00:05:04.33 December 25, 00:05:04.37\00:05:08.47 but we believe this irrespective 00:05:08.50\00:05:11.71 as to when He was born, 00:05:11.74\00:05:14.88 God became a human being. 00:05:14.91\00:05:19.75 Jesus came into this world and when He came, 00:05:19.78\00:05:24.29 He changed things there forever 00:05:24.32\00:05:27.42 and ever and ever. 00:05:27.46\00:05:31.33 Now here on the land down under, 00:05:31.36\00:05:33.03 you'll see, we've got a Christmas tree, 00:05:33.06\00:05:37.03 and you may wonder 00:05:37.07\00:05:38.40 why on earth do they have a Christmas tree? 00:05:38.43\00:05:40.87 Seeing they don't believe 00:05:40.90\00:05:42.24 that Jesus was born on December 25. 00:05:42.27\00:05:47.14 I mean, it's a very good, 00:05:47.18\00:05:49.64 good question, isn't it? 00:05:49.68\00:05:52.61 But in my church we had what we believed 00:05:52.65\00:05:55.68 was a modern day prophet. 00:05:55.72\00:05:58.15 Her name was Ellen. 00:05:58.19\00:06:00.79 And somebody asked her one occasion, 00:06:00.82\00:06:03.63 do you think it's wrong to have a Christmas tree? 00:06:03.66\00:06:06.43 Is it against your religion? 00:06:06.46\00:06:08.76 And she said, 00:06:08.80\00:06:10.17 "It's not against my religion," 00:06:10.20\00:06:14.10 because she believes that the time of December 25 00:06:14.14\00:06:18.24 should be spent sharing the love of Christ 00:06:18.27\00:06:21.54 with other people, especially people who are not blessed 00:06:21.58\00:06:26.08 as we are blessed. 00:06:26.11\00:06:29.12 Now today I've got something special 00:06:29.15\00:06:31.25 I'm going to share with you. 00:06:31.29\00:06:33.62 You notice we've got some little teddy bears here. 00:06:33.66\00:06:37.39 They seem out of place in the middle 00:06:37.43\00:06:39.49 of summer in the antipodes, 00:06:39.53\00:06:43.23 seems a million miles from the United States 00:06:43.26\00:06:45.73 of America from our office 00:06:45.77\00:06:47.80 at Production Center in California. 00:06:47.84\00:06:51.91 But for many years, 00:06:51.94\00:06:53.81 we had a Christmas tree in our church in Arcadia. 00:06:53.84\00:06:57.28 Let me tell you the story. 00:06:57.31\00:07:00.22 Beverley and her team invited church members 00:07:00.25\00:07:03.08 to bring teddy bears 00:07:03.12\00:07:04.92 which were given at children's hospitals. 00:07:04.95\00:07:09.12 So Eunice Fletcher and her husband Dennis 00:07:09.16\00:07:13.50 would put up this tremendous Christmas tree 00:07:13.53\00:07:17.57 and people would bring teddy bears and all sorts 00:07:17.60\00:07:20.77 of gifts for little children in the hospitals. 00:07:20.80\00:07:24.54 Sometimes it was to adopt 00:07:24.57\00:07:26.74 a family in need of food and clothing. 00:07:26.78\00:07:29.61 Other times, children placed money on our Christmas tree 00:07:29.64\00:07:34.08 and that would go to some special mission project. 00:07:34.12\00:07:37.49 The idea was to encourage our children to think of others, 00:07:37.52\00:07:43.06 not just to themselves. 00:07:43.09\00:07:44.83 And you know what Jesus said. 00:07:44.86\00:07:46.49 This is one of the most glorious statements 00:07:46.53\00:07:49.03 that our blessed Lord ever made. 00:07:49.06\00:07:51.40 He said, "It is more blessed 00:07:51.43\00:07:55.70 to give than to receive." 00:07:55.74\00:07:59.67 And if you share in my sentiments today, 00:07:59.71\00:08:02.64 I'm going to ask you to send us some teddy bears. 00:08:02.68\00:08:06.58 Send them to our office in 00:08:06.61\00:08:08.72 in the United States of America. 00:08:08.75\00:08:10.65 Send them to our office here in Australia. 00:08:10.69\00:08:14.89 Our office is in Moorpark California. 00:08:14.92\00:08:18.49 And my staff, they're just marvelous people, 00:08:18.53\00:08:20.73 they will be waiting to receive the teddy bears. 00:08:20.76\00:08:24.70 And in the name of Christ, I promise you, 00:08:24.73\00:08:29.60 we will take these teddy bears, 00:08:29.64\00:08:31.54 we will take your teddy bear to the hospital 00:08:31.57\00:08:37.11 and we will give them to little children 00:08:37.15\00:08:40.12 and we will tell them Jesus loves you 00:08:40.15\00:08:45.15 and we love you too. 00:08:45.19\00:08:46.52 Merry Christmas, Pastor Carter from your friends 00:08:49.56\00:08:52.23 and the Carter Report team in Los Angeles. 00:08:52.26\00:08:55.93 "People have often wondered, 00:08:55.96\00:08:57.77 'Was Jesus born on December 25th?'" 00:08:57.80\00:09:00.40 Well, of course we know, 00:09:03.30\00:09:04.64 Jesus was not born on December 25, 00:09:04.67\00:09:08.48 but the good news is Jesus was born. 00:09:08.51\00:09:11.71 I really don't care when Jesus was born. 00:09:11.75\00:09:14.88 I'm just glad that God became a man in the person 00:09:14.92\00:09:19.45 of Jesus. 00:09:19.49\00:09:22.16 Now before I forget it before it, 00:09:22.19\00:09:24.36 before it slips out of this mind of mine, 00:09:24.39\00:09:27.63 I want to send greetings to special people 00:09:27.66\00:09:30.53 around the world. 00:09:30.57\00:09:31.90 I want to send greetings to Dr. Julia Outkina 00:11:08.86\00:11:12.13 meeting today on Skid Row, downtown Los Angeles. 00:11:12.17\00:11:17.21 We love you, Willie. 00:11:17.24\00:11:18.74 We appreciate you. 00:11:18.77\00:11:20.44 We send you greetings. 00:11:20.48\00:11:21.84 Down to Florida, we send greetings to Jim 00:11:21.88\00:11:24.35 and Camille Gilley, 00:11:24.38\00:11:26.18 wonderful friends from Texas days. 00:11:26.21\00:11:29.42 In the name of Christ, 00:11:29.45\00:11:31.62 at this special time of the year, 00:11:31.65\00:11:33.69 we send you love 00:11:33.72\00:11:35.59 and we send you greetings. 00:11:35.62\00:11:38.49 Now, Wayne, I guess I better try to answer your question, 00:11:38.53\00:11:42.26 was Jesus born December 25? 00:11:42.30\00:11:46.27 Now we know 00:11:46.30\00:11:48.24 that the Romans celebrated December 25 00:11:48.27\00:11:52.44 long before the birth of our blessed Lord Jesus Christ. 00:11:52.47\00:11:58.31 This was the middle of winter. 00:11:58.35\00:12:03.18 December 25, 00:12:03.22\00:12:05.39 the sun was a little bit higher up there in the sky 00:12:05.42\00:12:09.69 and so they called it the birthday, 00:12:09.72\00:12:13.70 the birthday of the sun, the S-U-N. 00:12:13.73\00:12:18.60 And when the priests of Rome went out to convert the world, 00:12:18.63\00:12:22.67 when they met all those pagans, they discovered 00:12:22.70\00:12:25.81 they were keeping certain holiday certain days. 00:12:25.84\00:12:30.21 One day was the first day of the week. 00:12:30.25\00:12:32.58 It was Sunday, 00:12:32.61\00:12:34.68 the day in honor of the Sun God. 00:12:34.72\00:12:37.32 And December 25 was quite similar 00:12:37.35\00:12:39.79 to the first day of the week. 00:12:39.82\00:12:41.26 It was birthday of the unconquered sun. 00:12:41.29\00:12:46.09 And so the priest said keep those days, 00:12:46.13\00:12:49.26 and thus they were able to bring many, 00:12:49.30\00:12:51.67 many converts pagans 00:12:51.70\00:12:54.60 into the Christian Church. 00:12:54.64\00:12:58.07 But I want to tell you folk something today. 00:12:58.11\00:13:01.38 I want to make this ever so plain. 00:13:01.41\00:13:04.25 I tell it to you from my heart to your heart. 00:13:04.28\00:13:09.65 I don't really care when Jesus was born. 00:13:09.68\00:13:13.72 I don't know the day when Jesus was born. 00:13:13.76\00:13:16.93 It doesn't matter to me when Jesus was born. 00:13:16.96\00:13:19.73 What matters is this, that Jesus Christ, 00:13:19.76\00:13:23.37 the Son of God came into this world 00:13:23.40\00:13:26.80 to save sinners, 00:13:26.84\00:13:28.74 just like me and you too. 00:13:28.77\00:13:33.78 But let me read you a text now. 00:13:33.81\00:13:35.84 Going to come to the gospel, 00:13:35.88\00:13:37.78 according to Luke 00:13:37.81\00:13:39.25 2:1-8. 00:13:39.28\00:13:44.65 Are you ready for this text? 00:13:44.69\00:13:46.65 Here we go, Luke 2:1 and onwards, 00:13:46.69\00:13:50.76 "And it came to pass in those days 00:13:50.79\00:13:54.96 that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus 00:13:55.00\00:13:58.20 that all the world should be registered," not taxed. 00:13:58.23\00:14:03.04 The King James Version says 00:14:03.07\00:14:04.41 that all the world should be taxed. 00:14:04.44\00:14:05.97 No, this was not talking about taxation. 00:14:06.01\00:14:09.21 It was talking about a census because the next verse says, 00:14:09.24\00:14:14.55 "This census first took place 00:14:14.58\00:14:17.35 while Quirinius was governing Syria." 00:14:17.39\00:14:21.69 So Jesus was born about the time of the census. 00:14:21.72\00:14:26.66 "So all went to be registered, 00:14:26.70\00:14:29.26 everyone to his own city. 00:14:29.30\00:14:31.97 Joseph also went up from Galilee, 00:14:32.00\00:14:35.30 out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, 00:14:35.34\00:14:38.81 to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, 00:14:38.84\00:14:43.35 because he was of the house and lineage of David, 00:14:43.38\00:14:47.65 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, 00:14:47.68\00:14:51.95 who was with child. 00:14:51.99\00:14:54.69 So it was, that while they were there, 00:14:54.72\00:14:58.29 the days were completed for her to be delivered. 00:14:58.33\00:15:02.53 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, 00:15:02.56\00:15:05.23 and wrapped him in swaddling clothes 00:15:05.27\00:15:08.64 and laid Him in a manger, 00:15:08.67\00:15:12.27 because there was no room for them in the inn." 00:15:12.31\00:15:16.14 How amazing! 00:15:16.18\00:15:18.61 "Now there were in the same country, 00:15:18.65\00:15:20.35 shepherds living out in the fields, 00:15:20.38\00:15:22.48 keeping watch over their flock by night." 00:15:22.52\00:15:26.59 This was the greatest event in the history 00:15:26.62\00:15:31.56 of the world because, as the Bible says, 00:15:31.59\00:15:36.53 "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. 00:15:36.56\00:15:41.94 The Word was with God, and the Word was God." 00:15:41.97\00:15:47.38 Just think about this, 00:15:47.41\00:15:48.74 this is almost too hard to believe 00:15:48.78\00:15:52.98 that the Almighty God 00:15:53.01\00:15:54.48 who created the cosmos was born 00:15:54.52\00:15:59.82 of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 00:15:59.85\00:16:04.13 Absolutely amazing. 00:16:04.16\00:16:07.20 But this passage also tells us 00:16:07.23\00:16:09.83 why Jesus could not have been born 00:16:09.86\00:16:12.57 on December 25. 00:16:12.60\00:16:16.30 December 25, in the northern hemisphere, 00:16:16.34\00:16:19.47 unlike here in Australia, 00:16:19.51\00:16:21.81 where it's pretty hot, 00:16:21.84\00:16:24.78 in the northern hemisphere, it's winter time. 00:16:24.81\00:16:28.55 I've been to Israel, Palestine, been to Jerusalem, 00:16:28.58\00:16:32.12 Bethlehem on December 25. 00:16:32.15\00:16:35.72 Once when I was in Jerusalem at Christmas time, 00:16:35.76\00:16:38.69 it was snowing. 00:16:38.73\00:16:41.13 Now Jesus was born at the time of the census 00:16:41.16\00:16:45.53 and no Roman governor, 00:16:45.57\00:16:47.00 no Roman emperor was crazy enough 00:16:47.04\00:16:49.90 to have a census in the middle of winter, 00:16:49.94\00:16:53.07 because the roads would be too hard to travel on. 00:16:53.11\00:16:57.38 But Jesus was born at a time when the climate was such 00:16:57.41\00:17:00.58 that people could travel around the Roman Empire, 00:17:00.62\00:17:03.99 so he wasn't born December 25. 00:17:04.02\00:17:06.35 There's another reason. 00:17:06.39\00:17:07.82 The shepherds were out in the fields 00:17:07.86\00:17:10.16 and they were looking after their animals. 00:17:10.19\00:17:13.40 Now the shepherds are never out in the fields in Palestine, 00:17:13.43\00:17:17.53 in Israel, outside Bethlehem, in the middle of winter, 00:17:17.57\00:17:22.70 because it is too cold. 00:17:22.74\00:17:24.57 They bring the animals inside. 00:17:24.61\00:17:28.58 But listen to me, my friend, 00:17:28.61\00:17:32.78 Jesus was not born December 25, 00:17:32.81\00:17:38.32 but whenever He was born, and I don't really care 00:17:38.35\00:17:41.59 when He was born, 00:17:41.62\00:17:44.43 whenever He was born, 00:17:44.46\00:17:46.93 it was the greatest event in the history 00:17:46.96\00:17:52.33 of the world. 00:17:52.37\00:17:54.04 It was the greatest event 00:17:54.07\00:17:55.47 I believe in the history of the universe. 00:17:55.50\00:17:59.01 God had become 00:17:59.04\00:18:03.38 a human being. 00:18:03.41\00:18:05.71 Absolutely amazing. 00:18:05.75\00:18:07.62 And the Bible tells us that Jesus was born 00:18:07.65\00:18:11.42 at the very right time. 00:18:11.45\00:18:15.36 Paul says in the Book of Galatians, 00:18:15.39\00:18:20.50 in the fullness of time, 00:18:20.53\00:18:22.90 just think of it, in the fullness of time, 00:18:22.93\00:18:26.60 God sent forth his Son, 00:18:26.63\00:18:31.31 born of a woman, 00:18:31.34\00:18:35.31 born under the law, 00:18:35.34\00:18:38.01 when things were dreadful, 00:18:38.05\00:18:39.65 when things could not have got worse, 00:18:39.68\00:18:42.58 when depravity was covering the earth, 00:18:42.62\00:18:48.06 when people were filled with despair, 00:18:48.09\00:18:52.19 when the Jewish religion had lost its high and holy calling, 00:18:52.23\00:18:57.63 and had descended into the abyss of legalism, 00:18:57.67\00:19:02.30 and coldness and harshness. 00:19:02.34\00:19:06.68 When people were looking for hope, 00:19:06.71\00:19:11.98 a star rose in the sky 00:19:12.01\00:19:15.35 and that was heard on the night air, 00:19:18.49\00:19:23.76 there was heard the cry 00:19:23.79\00:19:27.53 of a little baby boy. 00:19:27.56\00:19:32.43 God had become a human being. 00:19:32.47\00:19:34.17 "We all know the nativity scene of the birth of Jesus. 00:19:37.81\00:19:42.91 It seems like a humble beginning. 00:19:42.94\00:19:45.38 Was He born in a cave 00:19:45.41\00:19:47.12 or a stable behind the equivalent of a Motel 6? 00:19:47.15\00:19:50.95 The back of Motel 6? 00:19:54.82\00:19:56.39 Well, Motel 6 is pretty good. 00:19:56.42\00:19:59.09 It's one of my favorite places 00:19:59.13\00:20:00.66 when I go to the United States of America. 00:20:00.70\00:20:02.56 I don't mind Motel 6. 00:20:02.60\00:20:05.10 But I think Wayne is saying, you know, 00:20:05.13\00:20:06.94 it's not the Waldorf Astoria, 00:20:06.97\00:20:10.07 it's not the Sheraton 00:20:10.11\00:20:12.04 and it's not the Hilton. 00:20:12.07\00:20:15.71 Jesus was born outside at the back of the inn. 00:20:15.74\00:20:21.02 The Bible says there was no room for the King of glory. 00:20:21.05\00:20:25.59 Can you believe it? 00:20:25.62\00:20:26.96 My friend, there is no room for the King of glory. 00:20:26.99\00:20:32.09 He's born in a cattle shed. 00:20:32.13\00:20:38.03 The only orchestra he has to greet Him, 00:20:38.07\00:20:41.84 the mooing of the cows, the bleating of the goats. 00:20:41.87\00:20:46.74 Who is this baby? 00:20:46.78\00:20:50.38 Let me read it to you. 00:20:50.41\00:20:51.88 One of my favorite passages, Isaiah 9:6, 00:20:51.91\00:20:56.99 "Unto us a child is born, 00:20:57.02\00:21:01.16 unto us a Son is given, 00:21:01.19\00:21:05.86 and the government shall be upon His shoulder. 00:21:05.89\00:21:10.37 And His name shall be called Wonderful, 00:21:10.40\00:21:14.04 Counselor, 00:21:14.07\00:21:16.94 Mighty God, 00:21:16.97\00:21:20.24 Everlasting Father, 00:21:20.28\00:21:24.91 Prince of Peace." 00:21:24.95\00:21:28.58 This is no ordinary child. 00:21:28.62\00:21:31.15 This is God. 00:21:31.19\00:21:33.79 As a little boy, think of it. 00:21:36.93\00:21:40.70 When Mary hugged him, 00:21:40.73\00:21:42.33 nursed him and kissed his cheek, 00:21:42.36\00:21:46.27 she kissed the face of God. 00:21:46.30\00:21:50.54 I tell you, my friend. 00:21:50.57\00:21:52.84 I don't care when He was born. 00:21:52.87\00:21:56.85 I do care that He was born. 00:21:56.88\00:22:00.62 The biggest thought in the world 00:22:00.65\00:22:02.42 is that the Creator became a baby to redeem us. 00:22:02.45\00:22:06.25 This tells me something, 00:22:06.29\00:22:07.92 would you please listen to me? 00:22:07.96\00:22:11.89 You and I must be tremendously important. 00:22:11.93\00:22:15.73 God came down to this earth, 00:22:19.47\00:22:21.97 He came down to the battlefield, 00:22:22.00\00:22:23.34 He came down to this hell-hole. 00:22:23.37\00:22:26.61 In this darkest hour He came down. 00:22:26.64\00:22:31.11 And He came down because He loves you. 00:22:31.15\00:22:34.45 You think nobody cares about you. 00:22:34.48\00:22:36.82 You are wrong. 00:22:36.85\00:22:39.12 You think God doesn't care about people? 00:22:39.15\00:22:41.59 You are wrong. 00:22:41.62\00:22:44.33 God cares about you. 00:22:44.36\00:22:45.69 God loves you. 00:22:45.73\00:22:47.33 You are tremendously important. 00:22:47.36\00:22:50.07 You are so important 00:22:50.10\00:22:51.77 that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. 00:22:54.80\00:22:57.41 Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 00:23:00.58\00:23:05.95 Many people are unsure 00:23:10.25\00:23:12.45 what BC and AD time really mean? 00:23:12.49\00:23:16.62 How did it come about? 00:23:16.66\00:23:18.16 Now, the Bible tells me, my friend Wayne. 00:23:21.90\00:23:24.20 And welcome, Wayne, to our program today. 00:23:24.23\00:23:26.23 You're the host of the program again. 00:23:26.27\00:23:28.47 The Bible tells me that Jesus was born in the days 00:23:28.50\00:23:31.67 of Herod the Great. 00:23:31.71\00:23:35.01 Now every historian knows 00:23:35.04\00:23:36.38 that Herod the Great died in 4 BC 00:23:36.41\00:23:41.08 most likely March 4 BC. 00:23:41.12\00:23:44.42 So Jesus was obviously born before Herod died 00:23:44.45\00:23:48.89 and Herod died in March 4 BC. 00:23:48.92\00:23:54.13 So Jesus was born 00:23:54.16\00:23:55.76 before 4 BC. 00:23:55.80\00:24:00.27 Most likely, Jesus was born in 5 BC or 6 BC. 00:24:00.30\00:24:04.94 Now some people are going to say, 00:24:04.97\00:24:06.31 well now you got me really, really confused. 00:24:06.34\00:24:11.45 Let me tell you how it happened. 00:24:11.48\00:24:14.55 In 525 AD, 00:24:14.58\00:24:17.72 Anno Domini, the year of our Lord. 00:24:17.75\00:24:21.49 A gentleman by the name of Dionysius 00:24:21.52\00:24:24.89 worked out the BC and the AD time, 00:24:24.93\00:24:28.03 but he made a mistake of at least four, 00:24:28.06\00:24:30.13 five or six years. 00:24:30.17\00:24:32.87 Now as everybody knows 00:24:32.90\00:24:34.54 who's watching this telecast today, 00:24:34.57\00:24:36.10 BC means Before Christ. 00:24:36.14\00:24:40.84 AD, of course, it doesn't mean after death of Christ. 00:24:40.88\00:24:45.08 AD means the Latin as everybody knows, 00:24:45.11\00:24:50.35 Anno Domini, 00:24:50.39\00:24:52.39 which is translated in the year of the Lord. 00:24:52.42\00:24:55.49 We say in the year of our Lord. 00:24:55.52\00:24:59.49 And on occasions, 00:24:59.53\00:25:00.86 the President of the United States will put out 00:25:00.90\00:25:03.13 a great pronouncement and he will say in the year 00:25:03.16\00:25:08.07 of our Lord. 00:25:08.10\00:25:10.91 This is of tremendous significance 00:25:10.94\00:25:13.44 because Jesus Christ broke history in two. 00:25:13.48\00:25:18.11 Nobody else has ever done that. 00:25:18.15\00:25:21.18 Nobody else could do this. 00:25:21.22\00:25:24.02 Confucius didn't do it. 00:25:24.05\00:25:26.29 We don't say in the year of Muhammad 00:25:26.32\00:25:29.16 or some other person, 00:25:29.19\00:25:30.53 we say in the year of our Lord. 00:25:30.56\00:25:35.53 Now since society has become so secular, 00:25:35.56\00:25:40.17 they now have CE, the Common Era 00:25:40.20\00:25:44.21 and they have the BCE, the Communists 00:25:44.24\00:25:47.94 and everybody else who doesn't, 00:25:47.98\00:25:49.78 who don't believe, 00:25:49.81\00:25:51.21 people who don't believe in the Bible, 00:25:51.25\00:25:55.48 but they can't get away from it. 00:25:55.52\00:25:57.85 They recognize that Jesus Christ is the person 00:25:57.89\00:26:02.19 who broke history in two. 00:26:02.22\00:26:06.46 He broke history in two because He's the only person 00:26:06.49\00:26:09.36 who could, because He is the Son of God. 00:26:09.40\00:26:13.47 "Before we go to part two, Pastor Carter, 00:26:17.34\00:26:20.14 can you tell us about the teddy bears?" 00:26:20.18\00:26:22.38 Now we're asking all of our friends near and far 00:26:25.58\00:26:28.95 to bring teddy bears at this time, 00:26:28.98\00:26:30.99 and to send them to the Carter Report, 00:26:31.02\00:26:33.19 send them to the address on the screen. 00:26:33.22\00:26:36.32 And we're going to take these little teddy bears 00:26:36.36\00:26:39.16 in your name, and in the name of Jesus, 00:26:39.19\00:26:42.96 and we're going to take them 00:26:43.00\00:26:44.33 to little children in the hospitals in Los Angeles 00:26:44.37\00:26:47.40 and in other places. 00:26:47.44\00:26:48.77 And we're going to say, 00:26:48.80\00:26:50.51 here is a teddy bear and we want you to know this, 00:26:50.54\00:26:55.51 that Jesus loves you. 00:26:55.54\00:26:59.41 Many people no matter 00:27:14.56\00:27:16.13 what their age still have their first teddy bear. 00:27:16.16\00:27:20.30 It's hard to let them go. 00:27:20.34\00:27:22.37 Their stitches might be loose, the stuffing flat, 00:27:22.40\00:27:26.37 one ear a little lopsided, 00:27:26.41\00:27:28.58 but they were always there for us. 00:27:28.61\00:27:31.35 Imagine giving a child their very first teddy bear, 00:27:31.38\00:27:35.35 especially when they are sick and lonely.
