You said 70%... 00:03:04.51\00:03:05.98 Seventy percent of people in the hospitals are there 00:03:06.01\00:03:08.62 for their diet and their lifestyle. 00:03:08.65\00:03:10.05 Because of their own bad choices. 00:03:10.09\00:03:12.15 Bad choices. Exactly. 00:03:12.19\00:03:13.59 And because they've been brainwashed by television. 00:03:13.62\00:03:17.49 That's true. You know. 00:03:17.53\00:03:18.86 A lot of those unhealthy products 00:03:18.89\00:03:20.23 you see advertised. 00:03:20.26\00:03:21.76 And these people who are putting out 00:03:21.80\00:03:23.33 these television ads advertising this poison food, 00:03:23.37\00:03:26.77 they don't do it because they love us, do they? 00:03:26.80\00:03:29.07 No, it's the toxic American diet, they call it. 00:03:29.10\00:03:32.21 And in fact, we're spending more than 00:03:32.24\00:03:34.84 $3 trillion a year in health care costs. 00:03:34.88\00:03:40.55 That's staggering. 00:03:40.58\00:03:41.92 That's more than the whole Australian economy. 00:03:41.95\00:03:46.02 More than 3 trillion a year. That's right. 00:03:46.05\00:03:48.46 I think that's more than what we spend on food. 00:03:48.49\00:03:51.63 I think it's about double. A bad relationship... 00:03:51.66\00:03:53.36 Yeah, yeah, $3 trillion. That's right. 00:03:53.40\00:03:55.76 And believe it or not, the United States only ranks 00:03:55.80\00:03:59.93 35th healthiest nation in the world. 00:03:59.97\00:04:02.37 So despite our high technology 00:04:02.40\00:04:04.97 and with this advanced healthcare system, 00:04:05.01\00:04:06.88 we have the United States in all this. 00:04:06.91\00:04:09.44 We're only the 35th healthiest nation in the world. 00:04:09.48\00:04:12.45 We're doing very bad and the deaths in our country 00:04:12.48\00:04:16.55 are related to the way we're living. 00:04:16.58\00:04:17.92 In fact... What's this? 00:04:17.95\00:04:19.29 What's all tell me, explain this to me, please? 00:04:19.32\00:04:20.66 This is showing the leading causes of death 00:04:20.69\00:04:22.52 in the United States. 00:04:22.56\00:04:23.89 Heart disease is number one, cancer is number two, 00:04:23.93\00:04:26.63 then we have chronic and respiratory diseases. 00:04:26.66\00:04:29.16 There are injuries, 00:04:29.20\00:04:30.70 there's been strokes and Alzheimer's. 00:04:30.73\00:04:32.30 Yeah. 00:04:32.33\00:04:33.67 But look at the three leading ones there. 00:04:33.70\00:04:35.47 They're very high in all these deaths 00:04:35.50\00:04:37.41 and what's the cause of these deaths? 00:04:37.44\00:04:39.21 This chart shows what it is. 00:04:39.24\00:04:41.04 First of all, poor diet and physical inactivity. 00:04:41.08\00:04:44.78 We're eating a terrible diet, a sad diet, 00:04:44.81\00:04:48.82 and we're not getting enough activity, exercise. 00:04:48.85\00:04:52.45 We're sitting around too much, the couch potatoes, 00:04:52.49\00:04:54.69 then it comes tobacco and alcohol. 00:04:54.72\00:04:57.09 I mean, that's crazy. Isn't smoking? 00:04:57.13\00:04:58.79 Exactly. 00:04:58.83\00:05:00.16 I mean, if God wanted us to smoke, somebody said, 00:05:00.20\00:05:01.76 "He would have made a chimney in our heads." 00:05:01.80\00:05:03.43 That's right. I mean, this is... 00:05:03.47\00:05:05.23 Fancy smoking when we know today 00:05:05.27\00:05:07.64 that you're puffing cancer down into your lungs. 00:05:07.67\00:05:11.17 That's right. It's addictive. 00:05:11.21\00:05:12.54 Yeah, America's Healthcare Crisis 00:05:12.57\00:05:14.91 that's what we're talking about today, 00:05:14.94\00:05:16.44 friends, and we want to tell you 00:05:16.48\00:05:18.61 how you can live longer and look better 00:05:18.65\00:05:22.18 and live life to the full. 00:05:22.22\00:05:24.35 Now, Doctor? 00:05:24.39\00:05:25.72 And then we talked about that diet by the way. 00:05:25.75\00:05:27.39 Death is mostly eat, 00:05:27.42\00:05:29.42 E-A-T take the D and the H off... 00:05:29.46\00:05:32.89 Well. We like eating, don't we? 00:05:32.93\00:05:34.26 We do. 00:05:34.30\00:05:35.63 Yeah, and we're not gonna be around if we don't eat. 00:05:35.66\00:05:37.63 That's right. We need that nutrition... 00:05:37.67\00:05:39.00 We need food. 00:05:39.03\00:05:40.37 But apparently, we're eating the wrong stuff. 00:05:40.40\00:05:41.80 That's right. 00:05:41.84\00:05:43.17 And it's because we have been brainwashed 00:05:43.20\00:05:46.27 by big companies who don't care about us, 00:05:46.31\00:05:50.45 but they simply want us to eat their junk food. 00:05:50.48\00:05:54.18 And then when I turn on American television, 00:05:54.22\00:05:56.69 I find this stuff advertising bad food, 00:05:56.72\00:05:59.39 and then you got heaps of ads that are telling you 00:05:59.42\00:06:01.96 to take these drugs. 00:06:01.99\00:06:03.32 Right. 00:06:03.36\00:06:04.69 And they're making billions out of this too. 00:06:04.73\00:06:06.23 And the drugs are only band-aids 00:06:06.26\00:06:07.60 for the real problem. 00:06:07.63\00:06:08.96 Yeah, so we got this tremendous crisis. 00:06:09.00\00:06:11.23 Now, there are eight natural health laws. 00:06:11.27\00:06:15.57 And you believe that if we follow those health laws, 00:06:15.60\00:06:18.77 we could beat the healthcare crisis. 00:06:18.81\00:06:21.01 God has put eight natural remedies, 00:06:21.04\00:06:23.21 eight natural health laws into nature 00:06:23.24\00:06:25.28 that we need to follow. 00:06:25.31\00:06:26.65 We're gonna talk about these today. 00:06:26.68\00:06:28.02 Yes. First is nutrition. 00:06:28.05\00:06:29.38 We'll get into that in a little bit. 00:06:29.42\00:06:30.75 Yeah. 00:06:30.79\00:06:32.12 Exercise, water, sunshine, temperance. 00:06:32.15\00:06:34.42 Now temperance is an old-fashioned word, 00:06:34.46\00:06:36.99 but it means being avoiding bad things for you 00:06:37.03\00:06:40.43 like tobacco and alcohol and all these types of things, 00:06:40.46\00:06:42.76 but being moderate even in the healthy things. 00:06:42.80\00:06:44.93 Yeah. Don't be dumb in other words. 00:06:44.97\00:06:46.74 Right. Yeah. Exactly. 00:06:46.77\00:06:48.50 Then fresh air is so important. 00:06:48.54\00:06:50.31 Rest, and I believe probably 00:06:50.34\00:06:52.34 one of the greatest health laws of all 00:06:52.37\00:06:54.64 is trust in the Creator God. 00:06:54.68\00:06:56.71 So when things are going bad... 00:06:56.75\00:06:58.08 And when you do that and everything fits in. 00:06:58.11\00:06:59.45 You gonna have peace. That's right. 00:06:59.48\00:07:00.85 And peace is a marvelous thing. 00:07:00.88\00:07:02.62 Now you really think 00:07:02.65\00:07:04.65 that these simple health laws actually work today? 00:07:04.69\00:07:08.86 I do. 00:07:08.89\00:07:10.23 Now tell me why you think they work? 00:07:10.26\00:07:11.59 Because these are related to the lifestyle that we live. 00:07:11.63\00:07:16.26 And when we live a healthy lifestyle, 00:07:16.30\00:07:18.33 we can prevent a lot of the illnesses. 00:07:18.37\00:07:20.07 Now, we're gonna start off with the first one, nutrition. 00:07:20.10\00:07:21.94 Yes. 00:07:21.97\00:07:23.30 I want the viewers today to remember this 00:07:23.34\00:07:25.61 if they remember anything else when it comes to diet. 00:07:25.64\00:07:28.14 Foods from plants 00:07:28.18\00:07:30.21 prevent the diseases that are killing... 00:07:30.25\00:07:32.38 And let me say to my friends watching out there in TV Land. 00:07:32.41\00:07:36.58 Listen to this 00:07:36.62\00:07:37.95 'cause this man has got the facts. 00:07:37.99\00:07:40.39 He's a world authority. 00:07:40.42\00:07:41.82 He's a world scientist. 00:07:41.86\00:07:43.49 And you're saying number one is, 00:07:43.53\00:07:45.89 what is it? 00:07:45.93\00:07:47.26 Nutrition. Nutrition. 00:07:47.30\00:07:48.63 And eating more plant foods, very important. 00:07:48.66\00:07:52.17 In fact, you know, Hippocrates, 00:07:52.20\00:07:54.34 the father of modern medicine said way back many years ago, 00:07:54.37\00:07:59.07 "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." 00:07:59.11\00:08:02.58 You know, when you look at the cultures of the world 00:08:02.61\00:08:05.38 and their history, food was their medicine. 00:08:05.41\00:08:08.88 Had nothing else. 00:08:08.92\00:08:10.25 Before there was medicine, there was food. 00:08:10.29\00:08:11.85 And they looked at food for nourishment, 00:08:11.89\00:08:13.96 but also that it was giving them healthy lunch. 00:08:13.99\00:08:16.83 So I tell people eat your medicine 00:08:16.86\00:08:18.46 but eat your medicine in healthy foods. 00:08:18.49\00:08:20.76 And these are the foods that science has shown 00:08:20.80\00:08:23.60 that are important for us to eat. 00:08:23.63\00:08:25.27 Nuts and whole grains, whole wheat bread... 00:08:25.30\00:08:28.27 Can we talk about this? Fruits and vegetables. 00:08:28.30\00:08:30.51 Yes, let's talk about some studies here... 00:08:30.54\00:08:32.94 Starting nuts, so they are important. 00:08:32.97\00:08:34.31 Nuts are very important. 00:08:34.34\00:08:35.68 In fact, this shows 00:08:35.71\00:08:37.05 nut consumption in heart disease. 00:08:37.08\00:08:38.41 This is showing 00:08:38.45\00:08:39.78 the relative risk of heart disease. 00:08:39.81\00:08:41.15 Yeah, yeah. 00:08:41.18\00:08:42.52 And the studies show that people who ate nuts 00:08:42.55\00:08:43.89 at least five times per week 00:08:43.92\00:08:45.55 had a 51% reduction in heart attacks 00:08:45.59\00:08:48.32 and a 48% reduction in death from heart attacks. 00:08:48.36\00:08:52.89 It's amazing. And how... 00:08:52.93\00:08:54.26 And you can see the fifth one over there. 00:08:54.30\00:08:56.26 Yeah. It's dramatic drop. 00:08:56.30\00:08:58.33 Now how many doctors write a prescription, 00:08:58.37\00:09:00.04 I want you to eat more nuts every day? 00:09:00.07\00:09:01.57 The patient would say... 00:09:01.60\00:09:03.24 They write prescription for drugs. 00:09:03.27\00:09:04.97 But if the doctor did that, the patient would say, 00:09:05.01\00:09:06.47 "Are you nuts?" 00:09:06.51\00:09:07.84 That's right. They want a drug, right? 00:09:07.88\00:09:09.38 Yeah, they want a drug. They want a little pill. 00:09:09.41\00:09:11.15 These are all types of nuts that you can eat. 00:09:11.18\00:09:13.18 And I recommend that when you get these nuts, 00:09:13.21\00:09:15.88 get the raw types of nuts, not the ones that have 00:09:15.92\00:09:18.19 all that salt and oil added to it, 00:09:18.22\00:09:20.36 but the raw nuts are the healthiest. 00:09:20.39\00:09:21.72 Yes. 00:09:21.76\00:09:23.09 And these are some of the different types of nuts 00:09:23.12\00:09:24.46 like almonds and walnuts and so forth. 00:09:24.49\00:09:26.29 Very healthy for diet and five servings a week 00:09:26.33\00:09:30.27 and that's a, servings just a little handful of nuts. 00:09:30.30\00:09:32.80 Well, I eat nuts every day. 00:09:32.83\00:09:34.17 I don't know what I do with that nuts. 00:09:34.20\00:09:36.00 And what about seeds? 00:09:36.04\00:09:37.37 You had up there seeds. 00:09:37.41\00:09:38.74 Yeah, seeds fit into that category too. 00:09:38.77\00:09:40.51 So there's pumpkin seeds... 00:09:40.54\00:09:41.88 I've started eating pumpkin seeds. 00:09:41.91\00:09:43.38 Okay, those are good 00:09:43.41\00:09:44.75 and flaxseeds has those omega-3 fatty acids. 00:09:44.78\00:09:47.62 Now the other studies that we wanted to show 00:09:47.65\00:09:49.62 is about whole wheat bread, not that white bread. 00:09:49.65\00:09:52.95 This shows the relative risk of heart attacks 00:09:52.99\00:09:55.72 when you have white bread, mixed diet 00:09:55.76\00:09:59.26 where you have some white bread 00:09:59.29\00:10:00.80 and whole wheat and this is whole wheat. 00:10:00.83\00:10:02.33 So you can see there's a drop off 00:10:02.36\00:10:05.23 in the risk of having a heart attack 00:10:05.27\00:10:07.44 when you eat whole grain, 100% whole wheat bread. 00:10:07.47\00:10:10.41 This study shows and proves the fact 00:10:10.44\00:10:12.94 that the whiter the bread the sooner you're dead. 00:10:12.97\00:10:15.48 Oh, that's a good one. 00:10:15.51\00:10:16.85 Say it again. 00:10:16.88\00:10:18.21 The whiter the bread, the sooner you're death. 00:10:18.25\00:10:19.58 Did you hear this, the whiter the bread 00:10:19.61\00:10:21.02 the sooner you're dead. 00:10:21.05\00:10:22.42 Now I go to Trader Joe's on occasions. 00:10:22.45\00:10:26.02 I have a number of places where I go regularly. 00:10:26.05\00:10:28.72 And this is not a commercial but I go to Costco, you know, 00:10:28.76\00:10:33.96 I just got the excitement of going to Costco. 00:10:34.00\00:10:36.46 That's my big high every week when I go to Costco. 00:10:36.50\00:10:41.30 And then I go to Trader Joe's. 00:10:41.34\00:10:43.30 And in Trader Joe's and other good stores, 00:10:43.34\00:10:48.31 they sell sprouted wheat bread. 00:10:48.34\00:10:51.75 That's good.
