I'm John Carter in Moscow. 00:00:02.23\00:00:04.67 In Havana, Cuba. 00:00:04.70\00:00:07.34 Now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:00:07.37\00:00:10.61 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:00:10.64\00:00:13.61 Right here in Communist China. 00:00:13.64\00:00:16.54 Reporting from India. 00:00:16.58\00:00:18.68 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:00:18.71\00:00:21.52 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:00:21.55\00:00:24.05 From El Salvador. 00:00:24.09\00:00:26.42 I'm John Carter in Sydney, Australia. 00:00:26.45\00:00:29.42 John Carter informs us about 00:00:29.46\00:00:31.43 "The Jesuits and the True Gospel." 00:00:31.46\00:00:33.53 This is a continuation of the talk 00:00:36.83\00:00:38.80 on "The Jesuits and the True Gospel." 00:00:38.83\00:00:40.90 In the last segment, 00:00:44.31\00:00:45.64 we spoke about 00:00:45.67\00:00:47.01 how a person can be right with God. 00:00:47.04\00:00:48.64 How much in a goodness do I have to have? 00:00:51.68\00:00:55.78 Now the Jesuits would teach this, 00:00:55.82\00:00:57.29 now try to get this into your mind. 00:00:57.32\00:00:59.65 It's not easy. 00:00:59.69\00:01:01.06 The Jesuits teach that a person is saved by grace alone. 00:01:01.09\00:01:05.13 Is that good? 00:01:05.16\00:01:06.49 Yeah, by Christ alone, 00:01:06.53\00:01:08.66 by faith, 00:01:08.70\00:01:10.23 plus the works of love 00:01:10.27\00:01:13.03 wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit. 00:01:13.07\00:01:17.54 And the Protestant reformers said, 00:01:17.57\00:01:19.31 "No, no, no." 00:01:19.34\00:01:21.08 They said, "Christ alone, scripture alone, 00:01:21.11\00:01:24.48 grace alone, and faith alone." 00:01:24.51\00:01:27.28 Because when you say, faith, 00:01:27.32\00:01:29.72 plus the works of love 00:01:29.75\00:01:32.35 wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit, 00:01:32.39\00:01:35.49 you bring in a subjective element. 00:01:35.52\00:01:41.13 Let me explain this to you. 00:01:41.16\00:01:45.23 This is not easy, but all of a sudden, 00:01:45.27\00:01:47.04 you're going to see it, 00:01:47.07\00:01:48.40 and the light is going to become 00:01:48.44\00:01:50.31 very, very, very plain. 00:01:50.34\00:01:52.67 I've seen many people die. 00:01:56.28\00:01:59.01 And some people die 00:01:59.05\00:02:00.38 with great faith and great peace. 00:02:00.42\00:02:03.18 And some people die fearing the flame. 00:02:03.22\00:02:09.49 How do I know? I've seen it. 00:02:09.52\00:02:11.23 I've seen people dying in fear 00:02:11.26\00:02:14.43 because some of those people are afraid of going into hell, 00:02:14.46\00:02:19.13 or going into purgatory. 00:02:19.17\00:02:23.24 And so if you believe the idea of the Jesuit, 00:02:23.27\00:02:27.14 as taught at the Council of Trent, 00:02:27.18\00:02:29.34 "Saved by Christ through grace 00:02:29.38\00:02:32.08 by faith plus the works of love wrought in the heart." 00:02:32.11\00:02:35.82 They're saying, 00:02:35.85\00:02:37.19 "But I don't have enough goodness." 00:02:37.22\00:02:39.79 Now, I'm going to go into purgatory 00:02:39.82\00:02:42.02 for millions and millions of years, 00:02:42.06\00:02:44.39 and I'm going to be, I'm going to be screaming. 00:02:44.43\00:02:49.16 So Martin Luther came along and he said, 00:02:49.20\00:02:51.03 "No, no, no, Christ alone, scripture alone, 00:02:51.07\00:02:54.60 grace alone, faith alone." 00:02:54.64\00:02:57.01 Because once I truly believe in Christ, 00:02:57.04\00:03:01.48 His righteousness covers my sins. 00:03:01.51\00:03:05.01 And there's no need of purgatory. 00:03:08.08\00:03:11.19 And I'm right with God right now. 00:03:11.22\00:03:14.09 Let me tell you a story. 00:03:14.12\00:03:18.63 A person whom I have always admired 00:03:18.66\00:03:22.73 was Mother Teresa. 00:03:22.76\00:03:25.50 Mother Teresa was trained in Jesuit theology. 00:03:25.53\00:03:29.74 Did you know this? 00:03:29.77\00:03:31.11 Trained in Jesuit theology. 00:03:31.14\00:03:32.47 She was taught, you know, grace alone, plus faith, 00:03:32.51\00:03:37.28 plus the works of love 00:03:37.31\00:03:38.98 wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit. 00:03:39.01\00:03:41.45 Mother Teresa after she died, 00:03:41.48\00:03:45.09 they found her letters. 00:03:45.12\00:03:48.12 Don't misunderstand me, 00:03:48.16\00:03:49.72 I think she was a great lady with a heart for people. 00:03:49.76\00:03:52.49 But she says, 00:03:52.53\00:03:53.96 she could never see the face of a God of love. 00:03:54.00\00:03:58.43 And she never had a moments of peace 00:03:58.47\00:04:00.70 in all her life. 00:04:00.74\00:04:02.74 And she was filled with so much dread 00:04:02.77\00:04:05.31 that she thought on numerous occasions 00:04:05.34\00:04:07.74 of becoming an atheist. 00:04:07.78\00:04:12.25 Never good enough. 00:04:12.28\00:04:15.62 Maybe one day, I'm going to make it like some of you, 00:04:15.65\00:04:18.55 but never good enough. 00:04:18.59\00:04:20.06 Look at Galatians again. 00:04:20.09\00:04:21.42 Galatians 2:20-21. 00:04:21.46\00:04:24.99 Look at this again, 00:04:25.03\00:04:26.96 and let these words sink down into the mind. 00:04:27.00\00:04:30.07 "I have been crucified with Christ," when? 00:04:30.10\00:04:33.44 "On the cross." 00:04:33.47\00:04:35.60 Later on, I must crucify myself in my sins, by God's grace, 00:04:35.64\00:04:40.18 but we're not talking about that. 00:04:40.21\00:04:42.04 "I have been crucified with Christ. 00:04:42.08\00:04:44.78 It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. 00:04:44.81\00:04:48.42 And the life which I now live in the flesh 00:04:48.45\00:04:50.72 I live by faith in the Son of God, 00:04:50.75\00:04:52.59 who loved me and gave Himself for me. 00:04:52.62\00:04:55.26 I do not set aside the grace of God, 00:04:55.29\00:04:58.59 for if righteousness comes through the law, 00:04:58.63\00:05:01.40 then Christ died in vain." 00:05:01.43\00:05:05.03 If I can be saved by my attainment 00:05:08.37\00:05:12.34 even with the help of the Holy Spirit, 00:05:12.37\00:05:15.54 Christ has died in vain. 00:05:15.58\00:05:19.78 I am not saved by attainment. 00:05:19.81\00:05:23.12 I am not saved by my attainment. 00:05:23.15\00:05:25.99 I am saved, listen, 00:05:26.02\00:05:27.82 by His atonement, not my attainment, 00:05:27.86\00:05:32.16 His atonement. 00:05:32.19\00:05:35.46 There was a Negro spiritual, beautiful, it said, 00:05:35.50\00:05:38.87 "Were you there when they crucified my Lord?" 00:05:38.90\00:05:44.81 And the answer is, 00:05:44.84\00:05:46.68 "Yes, I was there. 00:05:46.71\00:05:49.41 When He hung on the cross, 00:05:49.44\00:05:52.01 I was there legally in Him." 00:05:52.05\00:05:55.75 And that is why if I died 00:05:55.78\00:05:58.55 when Christ died for my sins, 00:05:58.59\00:06:03.06 the law cannot condemn a dead man. 00:06:03.09\00:06:06.53 Have you ever thought about this? 00:06:06.56\00:06:08.66 The law can only condemn living people. 00:06:08.70\00:06:11.57 You say but I know I didn't die. 00:06:11.60\00:06:15.77 Come over here. 00:06:15.80\00:06:17.14 Would you please to 2 Corinthians 5:14. 00:06:17.17\00:06:21.61 And quite likely, you've never read this text, 00:06:21.64\00:06:24.05 2 Corinthians 5:14. 00:06:24.08\00:06:30.59 Here it is. 00:06:30.62\00:06:31.95 This is amazing. 00:06:31.99\00:06:33.32 Now think about this, please. 00:06:33.36\00:06:36.02 "For the love of Christ compels us, 00:06:36.06\00:06:38.93 because we judge thus," 00:06:38.96\00:06:40.70 listen to this. 00:06:40.73\00:06:42.20 What does it say? 00:06:42.23\00:06:43.57 "That if One died for all," 00:06:43.60\00:06:45.80 what does it say? 00:06:45.83\00:06:47.44 Now, what does it say? 00:06:47.47\00:06:49.10 It says, if one died for all, 00:06:49.14\00:06:51.07 then all died legally when Christ died, 00:06:51.11\00:06:55.11 bearing the wrath of God, 00:06:55.14\00:06:57.85 I died on the cross. 00:06:57.88\00:06:59.55 And therefore, if I died on the cross... 00:07:03.55\00:07:06.09 the law cannot condemn me. 00:07:09.92\00:07:11.89 There's no condemnation. 00:07:11.93\00:07:14.40 Christ on the cross legally 00:07:14.43\00:07:17.03 bore my sin and tasted God's wrath. 00:07:17.07\00:07:20.80 If you don't understand God's wrath, 00:07:20.84\00:07:22.84 you can never understand the Gospel of God. 00:07:22.87\00:07:26.34 And that is why the moral influence theory 00:07:26.37\00:07:29.58 is a travesty. 00:07:29.61\00:07:31.48 And it is an abominable doctrine, 00:07:31.51\00:07:34.98 not believed by any mainstream church. 00:07:35.02\00:07:38.22 My church does not believe it. 00:07:38.25\00:07:39.99 Look at Galatians 3:11-13. 00:07:40.02\00:07:43.02 Galatians 3:11, 00:07:43.06\00:07:45.89 "But that no one is justified by the law 00:07:45.93\00:07:48.06 in the sight of God is evident, 00:07:48.10\00:07:49.90 for 'the just shall live by faith.' 00:07:49.93\00:07:51.77 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, 00:07:51.80\00:07:55.70 having become a curse for us, for it is written, 00:07:55.74\00:07:59.54 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.' " 00:07:59.57\00:08:03.11 People say, "That's a terrible text." 00:08:03.14\00:08:07.42 It says cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree 00:08:07.45\00:08:11.65 and it is talking about Christ 00:08:11.69\00:08:14.39 bearing the sin of the human race. 00:08:14.42\00:08:17.39 God is a righteous God. 00:08:17.43\00:08:20.50 God loves the sinner, 00:08:20.53\00:08:22.90 but God hates the sin. 00:08:22.93\00:08:26.47 Can you understand this? 00:08:26.50\00:08:27.84 God is not an old funny benevolent grandfather. 00:08:27.87\00:08:31.91 One man said to me, 00:08:31.94\00:08:33.27 "Oh, my God is a big teddy bear." 00:08:33.31\00:08:37.55 How superficial can you get? 00:08:37.58\00:08:41.28 God is a God of wrath. 00:08:41.32\00:08:43.32 And on the cross God takes his own medicine. 00:08:43.35\00:08:48.66 Because God react against sin, 00:08:48.69\00:08:52.46 the sinner must be punished 00:08:52.49\00:08:55.40 to the last drop of blood. 00:08:55.43\00:08:58.50 And so God doesn't send an angel. 00:08:58.53\00:09:01.60 God comes in the person of His own Son. 00:09:01.64\00:09:05.04 Hallelujah. 00:09:05.07\00:09:06.41 Hanging on the cross 00:09:06.44\00:09:08.61 was Yahweh Elohim in human form, 00:09:08.64\00:09:12.48 what's wrong with us? 00:09:12.51\00:09:15.05 Why are we so superficial? 00:09:15.08\00:09:17.49 We are so superficial 00:09:17.52\00:09:19.39 because we can no longer read scripture. 00:09:19.42\00:09:24.46 But hanging on the cross 00:09:24.49\00:09:26.03 was Yahweh Elohim and the wrath of God 00:09:26.06\00:09:30.90 was directed against Christ. 00:09:30.93\00:09:36.17 Why do you think He cried out, My God, My God? 00:09:36.20\00:09:39.01 Jesus did not die 00:09:39.04\00:09:41.38 as a joyful Christian. 00:09:41.41\00:09:45.85 Yes, He did. 00:09:45.88\00:09:47.52 No, no, no, 00:09:47.55\00:09:48.88 Jesus did not die 00:09:48.92\00:09:52.32 as a joyful Christian. 00:09:52.35\00:09:54.06 He died under the curse of the law. 00:09:54.09\00:09:57.23 Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. 00:09:57.26\00:10:00.83 When he hung on the tree, 00:10:00.86\00:10:02.86 the wrath of God was directed against His Son. 00:10:02.90\00:10:08.07 That's why He cried out, "My God, 00:10:08.10\00:10:10.74 My God. 00:10:10.77\00:10:13.01 Why have You forsaken me?" 00:10:13.04\00:10:15.61 Come now to Romans 3:25. 00:10:15.64\00:10:17.98 Romans 3, 00:10:18.01\00:10:19.35 the greatest book in the Bible 00:10:19.38\00:10:20.72 on this subject is the Book of Romans. 00:10:20.75\00:10:22.75 Tyndale, the English reformer called it 00:10:22.78\00:10:25.15 "Good glad and merry tidings 00:10:25.19\00:10:26.62 that makes a man's heart to sing for joy 00:10:26.65\00:10:28.69 and his feet to dance." 00:10:28.72\00:10:30.36 Romans 3:25, 00:10:30.39\00:10:33.19 now this is a difficult text. 00:10:33.23\00:10:35.63 This is the high point of scripture. 00:10:35.66\00:10:38.23 Some would say 00:10:38.27\00:10:39.60 this is the most important part of the Bible. 00:10:39.63\00:10:42.44 It is difficult. 00:10:42.47\00:10:43.87 And because most of us are very superficial, 00:10:43.91\00:10:47.18 we don't read it. 00:10:47.21\00:10:48.68 But look at it now. 00:10:48.71\00:10:50.05 Romans Chapter 3, 00:10:50.08\00:10:51.51 my dear friends, verse 25, 00:10:51.55\00:10:53.95 "Whom God set forth as a propitiation," 00:10:53.98\00:10:58.95 because God is wrath, 00:10:58.99\00:11:00.92 "by his blood, through faith, 00:11:00.96\00:11:04.03 to demonstrate His righteousness." 00:11:04.06\00:11:05.73 God has to be righteous. 00:11:05.76\00:11:07.66 God just can't say, oh, that's okay. 00:11:07.70\00:11:09.66 That's okay. 00:11:09.70\00:11:12.13 "To demonstrate His righteousness, 00:11:12.17\00:11:13.84 because in His forbearance 00:11:13.87\00:11:15.44 God had passed over the sins 00:11:15.47\00:11:17.37 that were previously committed." 00:11:17.41\00:11:22.38 And so we have this saying, 00:11:22.41\00:11:27.02 she took her own medicine. 00:11:27.05\00:11:30.59 God took His own medicine. 00:11:30.62\00:11:33.66 He bore my sin, 00:11:33.69\00:11:35.02 He was punished in my place. 00:11:35.06\00:11:36.79 That's why he cried out, 00:11:36.83\00:11:38.29 My God, My God. 00:11:38.33\00:11:41.43 Go back to the last presentation, 00:11:41.46\00:11:43.93 when I spoke about Robert Carter, 00:11:43.97\00:11:46.30 when he let all the slaves go free. 00:11:46.33\00:11:49.60 He said, "You are free." 00:11:49.64\00:11:51.44 When Christ hung on the cross, 00:11:51.47\00:11:56.44 cursed for us, curseth. 00:11:56.48\00:11:59.21 Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree. 00:11:59.25\00:12:02.12 He shouted out all across creation. 00:12:02.15\00:12:05.25 Let freedom ring. 00:12:05.29\00:12:07.46 Let freedom ring that the slaves go. 00:12:07.49\00:12:11.99 The problem is, 00:12:12.03\00:12:13.46 most people don't believe it. 00:12:13.50\00:12:15.66 And that's why they still act as slaves. 00:12:15.70\00:12:20.17 They have the slave mentality. 00:12:20.20\00:12:23.61 Now we're going to read again, 00:12:23.64\00:12:25.57 Romans 3, 00:12:25.61\00:12:27.21 the most difficult and the most important text 00:12:27.24\00:12:29.58 in the Bible, Romans 3:23-25. 00:12:29.61\00:12:33.21 And read it sometime 00:12:33.25\00:12:35.15 in a easy to understand translation. 00:12:35.18\00:12:39.05 Romans 3, 00:12:39.09\00:12:40.62 "For all have sinned," past tense, 00:12:40.66\00:12:42.76 "and fall short of the glory of God," 00:12:42.79\00:12:44.79 that's now, "being justified," 00:12:44.83\00:12:47.80 declared righteous, 00:12:47.83\00:12:49.70 "freely by his grace through the redemption 00:12:49.73\00:12:52.83 that is in Christ Jesus, 00:12:52.87\00:12:54.77 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, 00:12:54.80\00:12:59.77 through faith, 00:12:59.81\00:13:01.14 to demonstrate His righteousness," 00:13:01.18\00:13:02.84 God has to be righteous, 00:13:02.88\00:13:04.68 "because in His forbearance 00:13:04.71\00:13:06.48 God had passed over the sins 00:13:06.51\00:13:08.68 that were previously committed." 00:13:08.72\00:13:13.05 Now, this is not a throwaway text. 00:13:13.09\00:13:18.83 Now, I'm going to put up some big words on the screen 00:13:18.86\00:13:22.83 and say a few words about the big words. 00:13:22.86\00:13:27.77 Sin. 00:13:27.80\00:13:31.41 Sin is breaking the law of God. 00:13:31.44\00:13:34.54 It is anything that fall short of the glory of God. 00:13:34.58\00:13:38.95 It is lack of faith and lack of love. 00:13:38.98\00:13:41.88 Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself. 00:13:41.92\00:13:44.55 If you don't do that, 00:13:44.59\00:13:46.19 you're guilty of sin." 00:13:46.22\00:13:49.69 So who is ready for the judgment 00:13:49.72\00:13:51.96 on the basis of works? 00:13:51.99\00:13:55.13 Nobody I would think. 00:13:55.16\00:13:57.10 Justified. 00:13:57.13\00:13:58.47 Justified does not mean ever in scripture, 00:13:58.50\00:14:02.70 to make righteous. 00:14:02.74\00:14:05.17 So the Church of Rome has justification as a process. 00:14:05.21\00:14:10.95 And as you go along, 00:14:10.98\00:14:12.31 you're justified a little bit more, 00:14:12.35\00:14:15.02 and then you go into purgatory, 00:14:15.05\00:14:17.25 and at the end of purgatory, 00:14:17.29\00:14:19.22 you're totally justified 00:14:19.25\00:14:21.39 because only sinless people go to heaven. 00:14:21.42\00:14:26.23 The Jesuits, great scholars, 00:14:26.26\00:14:29.80 a total perfectionists 00:14:29.83\00:14:33.23 like some people I know. 00:14:33.27\00:14:35.60 Where do they get it from? 00:14:38.91\00:14:40.64 Well, I don't know. 00:14:40.68\00:14:42.94 But the Jesuits say amen to them. 00:14:42.98\00:14:45.35 Justified, 00:14:45.38\00:14:46.72 declared righteous not made righteous. 00:14:46.75\00:14:48.88 Grace, the mercy of God. 00:14:48.92\00:14:52.32 I don't deserve it. 00:14:52.35\00:14:55.42 When I get home to glory, it'll be by grace, 00:14:55.46\00:14:59.43 it won't because I am a perfect person 00:14:59.46\00:15:03.97 but because Christ died for me. 00:15:04.00\00:15:06.94 So you see, I am saved by works. 00:15:06.97\00:15:10.04 I am saved by works. 00:15:10.07\00:15:12.47 But they're not mine. 00:15:12.51\00:15:14.31 They're His. 00:15:14.34\00:15:15.68 You see. 00:15:15.71\00:15:17.05 Grace, redemption. 00:15:17.08\00:15:19.55 Robert Carter last week, the descendant of John Carter. 00:15:19.58\00:15:22.48 He said, "You're all redeemed. 00:15:22.52\00:15:24.72 You can all go home. 00:15:24.75\00:15:26.09 You're all free." 00:15:26.12\00:15:27.46 That's what Christ said on the cross. 00:15:27.49\00:15:29.52 I have paid for you. 00:15:29.56\00:15:31.63 Propitiation. 00:15:31.66\00:15:32.99 Very difficult word. 00:15:33.03\00:15:35.73 But the best scholarship says, it means something like this. 00:15:35.76\00:15:39.47 God has wrath against sin, 00:15:39.50\00:15:42.70 not against the person, 00:15:42.74\00:15:44.77 but against sin. 00:15:44.81\00:15:46.21 And therefore, 00:15:46.24\00:15:47.74 there is a price to be paid 00:15:47.78\00:15:52.18 to propitiate the wrath of God. 00:15:52.21\00:15:55.52 And this is through the atonement, 00:15:55.55\00:15:58.85 which is by blood, 00:15:58.89\00:16:01.02 Christ blood that we accept by faith 00:16:01.06\00:16:05.33 and it says it's to show God's righteousness. 00:16:05.36\00:16:08.40 What does this mean, 00:16:08.43\00:16:10.37 to show God's righteousness? 00:16:10.40\00:16:11.97 You got to think about this 00:16:15.50\00:16:16.84 because most of us are so superficial. 00:16:16.87\00:16:19.21 God is righteousness. 00:16:19.24\00:16:23.31 God is righteous. 00:16:23.35\00:16:26.25 God is totally righteous. 00:16:26.28\00:16:28.35 God, you know, what God demands of us. 00:16:28.38\00:16:34.32 Total perfection. 00:16:34.36\00:16:37.29 From the moment I'm conceived until the moment I die, 00:16:37.33\00:16:40.60 perfect righteousness, 00:16:40.63\00:16:43.33 perfect love, perfect obedience, 00:16:43.37\00:16:47.14 perfect faith 00:16:47.17\00:16:49.50 because God is righteous. 00:16:49.54\00:16:53.94 God demands of you and me a state of 100% perfection. 00:16:53.98\00:17:00.08 But we don't have it, 00:17:05.79\00:17:08.06 we're sinners. 00:17:08.09\00:17:10.13 And some of us are so sinful, 00:17:10.16\00:17:12.29 we don't know how sinful we are. 00:17:12.33\00:17:15.83 Some of us are so deluded 00:17:15.86\00:17:18.07 that we think we're good. 00:17:18.10\00:17:22.27 But you know what happens? 00:17:22.30\00:17:23.81 God says, I demand complete perfection, 00:17:23.84\00:17:26.81 because I'm righteous. 00:17:26.84\00:17:28.38 Here is My Son. 00:17:28.41\00:17:29.78 And He is my substitute. 00:17:34.55\00:17:37.72 He comes and stands in my place. 00:17:37.75\00:17:40.86 He dies my death, 00:17:40.89\00:17:44.03 to give me as a gift. 00:17:44.06\00:17:47.76 He's 100% perfect righteousness. 00:17:47.80\00:17:51.90 And so someone comes into the studio today, 00:17:51.93\00:17:54.87 and he is a sinner like all of us, 00:17:54.90\00:17:58.07 but he's never known it before. 00:17:58.11\00:18:00.31 And most likely he is a religious sinner. 00:18:00.34\00:18:03.21 That is the very worst type. 00:18:03.24\00:18:05.91 Because I'm not joking, 00:18:05.95\00:18:07.28 know what religious sinner is a pain 00:18:07.32\00:18:09.88 to be around 00:18:09.92\00:18:11.25 because he is so self righteous. 00:18:11.29\00:18:13.99 It stinks. 00:18:14.02\00:18:16.62 It does. 00:18:16.66\00:18:18.13 He's always criticizing people, always putting people down. 00:18:18.16\00:18:21.86 Only way he can go up, 00:18:21.90\00:18:23.73 is by putting somebody else down. 00:18:23.77\00:18:25.57 Have you met people like that? 00:18:25.60\00:18:27.24 Yeah. Yeah, of course you have. 00:18:27.27\00:18:31.04 Well, this person comes in here 00:18:31.07\00:18:32.57 and today he sees himself as a sinner. 00:18:32.61\00:18:36.71 And he cries out for mercy. 00:18:36.75\00:18:40.12 And God immediately gives him mercy 00:18:40.15\00:18:43.79 and shows him grace, 00:18:43.82\00:18:45.29 as the person is a penitent. 00:18:45.32\00:18:46.92 He's saying, "Lord, I'm sorry." 00:18:46.96\00:18:48.96 I've been such a pain all my life, 00:18:48.99\00:18:51.06 such a rotten husband, such a rotten father, 00:18:51.09\00:18:53.80 such a terrible church elder. 00:18:53.83\00:18:56.03 And God says, 00:18:59.20\00:19:00.54 not because of your penitence, 00:19:00.57\00:19:02.74 but because of My Son, 00:19:02.77\00:19:05.31 I declare 00:19:05.34\00:19:06.81 that you are as righteous as Jesus. 00:19:06.84\00:19:10.28 Amen. 00:19:10.31\00:19:14.18 It's a declaration. 00:19:14.22\00:19:17.55 It's a declaration, 00:19:17.59\00:19:20.26 and it happens in a moment. 00:19:20.29\00:19:23.19 The Jesuits and the purpose of Jesuit 00:19:27.86\00:19:30.80 came into existence 00:19:30.83\00:19:32.17 to destroy Protestantism and democracy. 00:19:32.20\00:19:35.10 And they came up with the counterfeit theology. 00:19:35.14\00:19:38.27 Remember Mother Teresa? 00:19:38.31\00:19:40.18 After her death, 00:19:40.21\00:19:41.54 they found her letters written to her confessor. 00:19:41.58\00:19:44.45 Her letters full of fear, 00:19:44.48\00:19:46.98 depression, purgatory, 00:19:47.02\00:19:49.08 no assurance. 00:19:49.12\00:19:50.89 She said, "I've never seen the face of a loving God 00:19:50.92\00:19:53.46 for one moment in my life." 00:19:53.49\00:19:56.89 Like some people I know. 00:19:56.93\00:20:00.46 But justify means to declare righteous. 00:20:00.50\00:20:04.03 She never got it, but you can. 00:20:04.07\00:20:06.33 Romans 4:3-7. 00:20:06.37\00:20:08.70 Look at this. 00:20:08.74\00:20:10.07 Romans Chapter 4. 00:20:10.11\00:20:12.84 "What does the Scripture say? 00:20:12.87\00:20:14.21 'Abraham believed God, 00:20:14.24\00:20:15.58 it was accounted to him for righteousness.' 00:20:15.61\00:20:19.91 But to him who does not work for salvation, 00:20:19.95\00:20:22.58 but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly," 00:20:22.62\00:20:25.42 you want to be justified, 00:20:25.45\00:20:27.46 or recognize you're ungodly. 00:20:27.49\00:20:29.22 Oh, 00:20:29.26\00:20:30.76 "his faith is accounted for righteousness, 00:20:30.79\00:20:33.96 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man 00:20:34.00\00:20:37.17 to whom God imputes righteousness 00:20:37.20\00:20:39.27 apart from works. 00:20:39.30\00:20:41.34 'Blessed are those 00:20:41.37\00:20:42.70 whose lawless deeds are forgiven, 00:20:42.74\00:20:44.27 and whose sins are covered.'" 00:20:44.31\00:20:46.37 It is an accounting. 00:20:46.41\00:20:49.78 God gives it to you, 00:20:49.81\00:20:51.95 and you don't have it. 00:20:51.98\00:20:54.72 Today, many Roman Catholic scholars 00:20:54.75\00:20:56.82 have accepted Martin Luther's gospel, 00:20:56.85\00:21:01.36 that God justifies the ungodly. 00:21:01.39\00:21:04.59 It doesn't say that God justifies the righteous, 00:21:04.63\00:21:08.03 but the ungodly. 00:21:08.06\00:21:09.86 And if you think you're a really good person, 00:21:09.90\00:21:13.37 this is not for you. 00:21:13.40\00:21:17.71 It's for the person who knows he's ungodly. 00:21:17.74\00:21:22.41 He's such a person easy to live with?
