00:02:28.31\00:02:31.45 And, of course, you all got this right, 00:02:31.48\00:02:32.98 didn't you? 00:02:33.01\00:02:34.35 What is God's greatest characteristic? 00:02:34.38\00:02:35.88 We're told in the scriptures in 1 John 00:02:35.92\00:02:39.05 that the Bible tells us that God is love. 00:02:39.09\00:02:42.56 Everything proceeds from this great premise 00:02:42.59\00:02:45.66 that God is good and God is loving. 00:02:45.69\00:02:47.86 Question number two, does God have wrath? 00:02:47.90\00:02:52.53 Now today, in many circles, 00:02:52.57\00:02:54.57 especially here in Southern California, 00:02:54.60\00:02:57.24 where the moral influence theory is largely predominant 00:02:57.27\00:03:01.44 among some Christians, 00:03:01.48\00:03:02.88 they say, "No, God is a benevolent grandfather, 00:03:02.91\00:03:07.12 and God doesn't have wrath." 00:03:07.15\00:03:09.72 Of course, that goes against everything 00:03:09.75\00:03:11.42 that is taught in the scriptures. 00:03:11.45\00:03:13.22 If you turn to Romans 1:18, 00:03:13.25\00:03:17.43 you'll read these words. 00:03:17.46\00:03:18.96 Romans 1:18, it says, 00:03:18.99\00:03:22.86 "For the wrath of God..." 00:03:22.90\00:03:24.50 Well, that, we don't need to go any further. 00:03:24.53\00:03:26.63 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven 00:03:26.67\00:03:29.04 against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men." 00:03:29.07\00:03:32.77 So the Bible teaches, yes, God, the loving God has wrath. 00:03:32.81\00:03:39.21 Next question. 00:03:39.25\00:03:40.58 Was Jesus a martyr or a sacrifice? 00:03:40.62\00:03:45.65 Now the world has seen, 00:03:45.69\00:03:47.02 literally thousands and thousands, 00:03:47.06\00:03:48.62 maybe millions of martyrs. 00:03:48.66\00:03:51.59 Jesus was not a martyr. 00:03:51.63\00:03:53.09 The Bible teaches He was a sacrifice. 00:03:53.13\00:03:55.93 Romans 3:25, 00:03:55.96\00:03:58.13 "Whom God set forth as a," difficult word, 00:03:58.17\00:04:01.50 "propitiation by His blood." 00:04:01.54\00:04:04.84 Lot of people say, "Don't like that word." 00:04:04.87\00:04:07.71 Well, this word tells us that Christ was not a martyr, 00:04:07.74\00:04:11.88 He was a sacrifice. 00:04:11.91\00:04:14.78 He was a sacrifice to propitiate the wrath of God, 00:04:14.82\00:04:20.89 the wrath of God against sin. 00:04:20.92\00:04:24.43 That's what it says in Romans 3:25. 00:04:24.46\00:04:28.16 Next question. 00:04:28.20\00:04:29.53 Is justification God's act in "making" me righteous 00:04:29.56\00:04:34.04 or "declaring" me righteous? 00:04:34.07\00:04:35.97 This is the very heart of the issue today. 00:04:36.00\00:04:39.54 Is justification God's act 00:04:39.57\00:04:43.11 in making me into a righteous person? 00:04:43.14\00:04:45.81 Or does it declare that John Carter, 00:04:45.85\00:04:48.42 who is an unrighteous person, 00:04:48.45\00:04:50.95 now stands in the sight of God as completely righteous? 00:04:50.99\00:04:54.82 Romans 4:3, 5 says, 00:04:54.86\00:04:58.79 "For what does the Scripture say? 00:04:58.83\00:05:01.03 'Abraham believed God, 00:05:01.06\00:05:03.30 and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 00:05:03.33\00:05:07.50 But to him who does not work but believes on Him, 00:05:07.54\00:05:11.64 who justifies the ungodly, 00:05:11.67\00:05:14.51 his faith is accounted for righteousness." 00:05:14.54\00:05:19.08 Justification does not make me righteous, 00:05:19.11\00:05:23.49 it declares that I am righteous. 00:05:23.52\00:05:27.82 Next question. 00:05:27.86\00:05:29.19 Must I be sinless before I can go to heaven? 00:05:29.22\00:05:33.33 Now there are lots and lots of very earnest people 00:05:33.36\00:05:35.93 like the Jesuits 00:05:35.96\00:05:38.13 who are perfectionists. 00:05:38.17\00:05:40.17 They believe that before I can go to heaven, 00:05:40.20\00:05:43.37 I have to be absolutely sinless. 00:05:43.41\00:05:45.77 And that is why our beloved friends 00:05:45.81\00:05:48.14 in the Roman Catholic Church 00:05:48.18\00:05:49.64 believe in the doctrine of purgatory 00:05:49.68\00:05:53.05 because nobody in this lifetime is sinless. 00:05:53.08\00:05:56.25 Now the Bible says this. 00:05:56.28\00:05:58.22 It says, here it is, 00:05:58.25\00:05:59.59 "For all have sinned," that's the past tense, 00:05:59.62\00:06:02.42 "and fall short of the glory of God." 00:06:02.46\00:06:05.29 When it says fall short, it is present continuous. 00:06:05.33\00:06:10.07 It means 00:06:10.10\00:06:11.43 that we are all falling short of the glory of God. 00:06:11.47\00:06:16.67 There are no perfect people. 00:06:16.71\00:06:20.11 There are deluded people. 00:06:20.14\00:06:22.98 There are self-righteous people. 00:06:23.01\00:06:24.88 What the Bible says, "We've all sinned and we..." 00:06:24.91\00:06:28.25 The Greek says, 00:06:28.28\00:06:29.62 "We continue to fall short of the glory of God." 00:06:29.65\00:06:33.99 So if only sinless people can go to heaven, 00:06:34.02\00:06:36.86 nobody is going to go. 00:06:36.89\00:06:40.46 Next question. 00:06:40.50\00:06:41.83 Is it okay for a Christian to be a liar, 00:06:41.86\00:06:45.13 a fornicator, a thief or a hypocrite? 00:06:45.17\00:06:49.47 Do we believe in cheap grace? 00:06:49.50\00:06:51.97 Romans 1:29-32. 00:06:52.01\00:06:54.61 And Paul was the great exponent of righteousness through faith. 00:06:54.64\00:06:58.68 "Being filled with all unrighteousness, 00:06:58.71\00:07:01.85 sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, 00:07:01.88\00:07:05.92 full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness, 00:07:05.95\00:07:11.03 they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, 00:07:11.06\00:07:14.40 violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, 00:07:14.43\00:07:18.97 disobedient to parents," goodness me, 00:07:19.00\00:07:22.44 "undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, 00:07:22.47\00:07:27.01 unmerciful, who, 00:07:27.04\00:07:29.04 knowing the righteous judgment of God," 00:07:29.08\00:07:32.71 because He has wrath, 00:07:32.75\00:07:34.78 "that those who practice such things 00:07:34.82\00:07:38.29 are deserving of death, 00:07:38.32\00:07:39.65 not only do the same 00:07:39.69\00:07:41.32 but also approve of those who practice them." 00:07:41.36\00:07:45.03 So the Bible says 00:07:45.06\00:07:46.39 that people who are willing 00:07:46.43\00:07:49.36 and willful sinners, 00:07:49.40\00:07:51.83 will never see the kingdom of God. 00:07:51.87\00:07:55.20 But the Bible says, "They are worthy of death." 00:07:55.24\00:08:00.48 These are strong words. 00:08:00.51\00:08:02.94 The Bible is not written for superficial people. 00:08:02.98\00:08:08.05 Next question. 00:08:08.08\00:08:09.42 Can I know that I am right with God right now? 00:08:09.45\00:08:12.85 Oh, yes, I can. 00:08:12.89\00:08:14.22 Romans 8:1, Romans 8:1, 00:08:14.26\00:08:17.39 "There is therefore now 00:08:17.43\00:08:18.76 no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus." 00:08:18.79\00:08:22.40 The Bible teaches... 00:08:22.43\00:08:23.77 Listen to this, that I can know 00:08:23.80\00:08:27.10 that I'm right with God right now, 00:08:27.14\00:08:30.57 and that I am going to be in the kingdom of God. 00:08:30.61\00:08:34.98 Do you know what this is called? 00:08:35.01\00:08:37.91 This is called the gospel. 00:08:37.95\00:08:40.98 The gospel is not good advice, 00:08:41.02\00:08:43.49 the gospel, my friend, is good news 00:08:43.52\00:08:46.92 that what God desires of me 00:08:46.96\00:08:51.39 for time and eternity has already been accomplished, 00:08:51.43\00:08:54.90 for me, in Christ. 00:08:54.93\00:08:58.40 Is this statement biblically correct? 00:08:58.43\00:09:01.30 Here it is. Have a look at it. 00:09:01.34\00:09:04.14 See what you've filled in. 00:09:04.17\00:09:06.11 "We are saved by Christ alone, by grace alone, 00:09:06.14\00:09:10.88 through faith plus the works of love 00:09:10.91\00:09:14.48 wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit?" 00:09:14.52\00:09:19.35 And if you've said, 00:09:19.39\00:09:20.72 "Yes, that's what I believe." 00:09:20.76\00:09:23.09 That is the direct quotation from the Jesuits 00:09:26.23\00:09:30.40 in the Council of Trent. 00:09:30.43\00:09:34.60 No, no, no. 00:09:34.64\00:09:35.97 That's what I believe... 00:09:36.00\00:09:37.34 Well, my friend, if you believe that, 00:09:37.37\00:09:40.21 you have the same theology 00:09:40.24\00:09:42.48 as the Council of Trent, 00:09:42.51\00:09:45.65 the Jesuits. 00:09:45.68\00:09:48.25 The Jesuits believed in grace, 00:09:48.28\00:09:51.22 and they believed in faith, 00:09:51.25\00:09:53.66 but they believed that a person could not know 00:09:53.69\00:09:57.16 that he was right with God 00:09:57.19\00:09:59.16 until all the works of love 00:09:59.19\00:10:01.66 had been wrought in his heart 00:10:01.70\00:10:03.20 by the Holy Spirit. 00:10:03.23\00:10:04.97 And every Jesuit, every Roman Catholic scholar, 00:10:05.00\00:10:07.74 you know, that nobody is perfect, 00:10:07.77\00:10:11.54 nobody has enough love, 00:10:11.57\00:10:13.44 nobody has enough 00:10:13.48\00:10:14.81 of the Spirit of God in his life, 00:10:14.84\00:10:16.85 am I right? 00:10:16.88\00:10:18.81 And therefore, they say, 00:10:18.85\00:10:21.18 "You've got to have purgatory 00:10:21.22\00:10:23.39 to purge the soul," 00:10:23.42\00:10:26.29 so that at last you are sinless 00:10:26.32\00:10:29.12 and you can go into the very presence of God. 00:10:29.16\00:10:35.03 You see that turned justification into a process, 00:10:35.06\00:10:40.54 where day by day, 00:10:40.57\00:10:42.50 I'm getting a little bit better 00:10:42.54\00:10:45.61 and people who believed in the Jesuits doctrine 00:10:45.64\00:10:49.54 are always checking in, 00:10:49.58\00:10:51.51 "How am I doing?" "How am I doing?" 00:10:51.55\00:10:54.95 "Am I going to be ready when the judgment comes?" 00:10:54.98\00:10:57.22 "I'm not ready yet, but I'm getting ready." 00:11:00.26\00:11:06.16 And people who believe that theology 00:11:06.19\00:11:08.76 are not only checking in to their own huts, 00:11:08.80\00:11:12.27 they're checking you at how you doing? 00:11:12.30\00:11:17.07 So this breeds two types of people, 00:11:17.11\00:11:20.48 Super self-righteous people. 00:11:20.51\00:11:22.68 Look at me, I'm doing very well indeed. 00:11:22.71\00:11:27.25 Super self-righteous people. 00:11:27.28\00:11:30.65 I hate to be a pastor of the church 00:11:30.69\00:11:33.66 that believes that theology. 00:11:33.69\00:11:35.72 Super self-righteous people, 00:11:35.76\00:11:37.59 but it also breeds another type of individual, 00:11:37.63\00:11:40.70 a person who is totally depressed 00:11:40.73\00:11:43.70 because he is honest. 00:11:43.73\00:11:45.50 And I've seen people commit suicide 00:11:45.53\00:11:48.54 because they believe the doctrine of the Jesuits. 00:11:48.57\00:11:51.67 And they were members 00:11:54.64\00:11:58.11 of my church. 00:11:58.15\00:12:02.92 You're listening. 00:12:02.95\00:12:05.39 Martin Luther was a Roman Catholic priest 00:12:05.42\00:12:07.32 who had a colossal row with the pope, 00:12:07.36\00:12:10.66 whom he said was teaching heresies. 00:12:10.69\00:12:14.63 Luther was a founder of Protestantism, 00:12:14.66\00:12:17.73 that teaches that people are saved 00:12:17.77\00:12:19.43 through the merits of Christ, 00:12:19.47\00:12:21.67 the merits of Christ apart from us. 00:12:21.70\00:12:24.54 This brought about the Great Schism. 00:12:24.57\00:12:28.68 This gave way to the birth of freedom 00:12:28.71\00:12:32.91 and democracy around the world. 00:12:32.95\00:12:35.55 Before Martin Luther came, 00:12:35.58\00:12:37.35 the world was in terrible darkness. 00:12:37.39\00:12:38.99 Most people 00:12:39.02\00:12:40.36 are totally ignorant of history today. 00:12:40.39\00:12:43.09 But this paved the way for the rise 00:12:43.12\00:12:45.29 of the United States of America. 00:12:45.33\00:12:47.06 No Martin Luther, no America. 00:12:47.10\00:12:50.60 Let me tell you today, 00:12:50.63\00:12:51.97 the difference between classic Catholicism 00:12:52.00\00:12:55.90 and Protestantism. 00:12:55.94\00:12:58.27 It really does matter. 00:12:58.31\00:12:59.64 It just, my friend, 00:12:59.67\00:13:01.18 it just may save your soul this meeting today. 00:13:01.21\00:13:05.81 There are good and bad people in all churches, 00:13:05.85\00:13:08.45 and today, we're not talking about 00:13:08.48\00:13:10.59 good people or bad people being in churches 00:13:10.62\00:13:13.42 because in my church, 00:13:13.46\00:13:14.92 there are good and there are bad people. 00:13:14.96\00:13:16.93 And in the great Roman Catholic Church, 00:13:16.96\00:13:18.79 there are millions, and millions, 00:13:18.83\00:13:20.26 and millions of saints. 00:13:20.30\00:13:22.83 So we're not talking about people, 00:13:22.86\00:13:25.87 we're talking about truth. 00:13:25.90\00:13:28.57 And remember this, 00:13:28.60\00:13:31.47 what you believe makes you what you are. 00:13:31.51\00:13:36.24 And if you are a colder, 00:13:36.28\00:13:39.61 critical self-righteous person, 00:13:39.65\00:13:43.72 you are the product of bad theology. 00:13:43.75\00:13:48.06 Am I getting through to you? 00:13:48.09\00:13:50.33 Think about this. 00:13:50.36\00:13:53.93 What you believe makes you what you are. 00:13:53.96\00:13:56.33 So the topic today, 00:13:56.36\00:13:58.03 "The Jesuits and The True Gospel." 00:13:58.07\00:14:00.57 Now, I want you to come to text over here 00:14:00.60\00:14:02.50 that you have seen before, 00:14:02.54\00:14:03.87 but perhaps you have never seen at all. 00:14:03.91\00:14:05.91 Galatians 2:20, 21. 00:14:05.94\00:14:08.94 Galatians 2:20 and 21. 00:14:08.98\00:14:14.58 Turn to the texts. 00:14:14.62\00:14:16.58 And I ask you to keep an open mind, 00:14:16.62\00:14:21.79 and to think outside the box. 00:14:21.82\00:14:24.23 There is nothing more perilous 00:14:24.26\00:14:26.39 than a closed, narrow, 00:14:26.43\00:14:29.33 bigoted religious mind. 00:14:29.36\00:14:32.23 Galatians 2:20, 21, 00:14:32.27\00:14:38.11 "I have been crucified with Christ. 00:14:38.14\00:14:42.24 I have been crucified with Christ, 00:14:42.28\00:14:45.88 it is no longer I who live," hey, I must be dead, 00:14:45.91\00:14:50.02 "but Christ lives in me, 00:14:50.05\00:14:51.95 and the life which I now live in the flesh 00:14:51.99\00:14:53.76 I live by faith in the Son of God, 00:14:53.79\00:14:56.09 who loved me, 00:14:56.12\00:14:57.46 gave Himself for me. 00:14:57.49\00:14:59.33 I do not set aside the grace of God," 00:14:59.36\00:15:01.20 listen to this, 00:15:01.23\00:15:02.56 "for if righteousness comes through the law, 00:15:02.60\00:15:04.97 through the keeping of the law, 00:15:05.00\00:15:07.37 then Christ died in vain." 00:15:07.40\00:15:09.50 Paul says this, 00:15:09.54\00:15:11.47 "If I can get to heaven 00:15:11.51\00:15:13.78 by keeping the law of God even with God's help, 00:15:13.81\00:15:17.38 then I don't need grace." 00:15:17.41\00:15:20.38 And then he says this, 00:15:20.42\00:15:23.12 "I am crucified, 00:15:23.15\00:15:24.65 I have been crucified with Christ." 00:15:24.69\00:15:29.92 Now what does that mean? 00:15:29.96\00:15:32.59 This is one of the most amazing text 00:15:32.63\00:15:35.46 in the Bible 00:15:35.50\00:15:36.83 that I did not understand for many, many, many years. 00:15:36.87\00:15:40.54 Listen. 00:15:40.57\00:15:43.00 When Christ died on the cross, 00:15:43.04\00:15:48.04 He was God 00:15:48.08\00:15:50.28 bearing His own wrath 00:15:50.31\00:15:52.95 against sin. 00:15:52.98\00:15:54.32 When He died on the cross, 00:15:57.55\00:16:01.16 legally, I died with Christ. 00:16:01.19\00:16:05.96 He died for me. 00:16:05.99\00:16:07.33 I legally died with Christ. 00:16:07.36\00:16:09.50 And if I died with Christ in 31 A.D, 31 A.D, 00:16:12.80\00:16:17.27 if I died with Christ on the cross in 31 A.D, 00:16:17.31\00:16:20.94 listen to me, 00:16:20.98\00:16:22.31 the law cannot condemn a dead man. 00:16:22.34\00:16:26.45 And so there is no condemnation to the person 00:16:29.45\00:16:31.85 who is in Christ Jesus. 00:16:31.89\00:16:36.16 But I'm not saved by faith and works, 00:16:36.19\00:16:40.80 I'm saved by a faith that is so dynamic 00:16:40.83\00:16:44.17 that it will work, 00:16:44.20\00:16:47.27 that I'm saved by grace alone, 00:16:47.30\00:16:50.77 through faith alone. 00:16:50.81\00:16:54.04 Let me give a little recap on last time's presentation. 00:16:54.08\00:16:59.05 I told you about John Carter 00:16:59.08\00:17:00.52 who came to this great land many hundreds of years ago. 00:17:00.55\00:17:05.25 And his descendant Robert Carter, 00:17:05.29\00:17:07.82 who freed the slaves in Virginia 00:17:07.86\00:17:10.16 70 years before Lincoln, 00:17:10.19\00:17:12.89 he was indeed the great emancipator. 00:17:12.93\00:17:18.23 And back in those days in Virginia, in America, 00:17:18.27\00:17:21.37 he was an exceptional person, 00:17:21.40\00:17:23.30 was the descendant of John Carter, Robert Carter 00:17:23.34\00:17:26.21 because he sought for himself, 00:17:26.24\00:17:28.34 and he sought outside the box, 00:17:28.38\00:17:30.68 he was not a dummy. 00:17:30.71\00:17:34.25 He was not a conformist. 00:17:34.28\00:17:38.02 Most people today 00:17:38.05\00:17:39.39 are stuffed in little boxes, 00:17:39.42\00:17:44.76 but he sought for himself. 00:17:44.79\00:17:48.76 He went against popular opinion. 00:17:48.80\00:17:53.84 This, of course, is dangerous. 00:17:53.87\00:17:55.44 It is dangerous to think for yourself. 00:17:55.47\00:17:59.51 I remember the story that was told me years ago 00:17:59.54\00:18:02.08 by an old evangelist. 00:18:02.11\00:18:05.51 He said to a person coming to the meetings, 00:18:05.55\00:18:07.65 "What do you believe? 00:18:07.68\00:18:09.05 He said, "I believe what my church believes." 00:18:09.08\00:18:13.19 "Oh, and what does your church believe?" 00:18:13.22\00:18:16.02 "My church believes what I believe." 00:18:16.06\00:18:20.23 "What does your church and you believe?" 00:18:20.26\00:18:23.00 "We think the same." 00:18:23.03\00:18:24.37 This is the terrible slavery of conformity. 00:18:27.70\00:18:32.27 But I believe 00:18:36.04\00:18:37.91 that we need to be honest with God 00:18:37.95\00:18:42.25 and honest with ourselves. 00:18:42.28\00:18:44.42 God has given us the ability 00:18:44.45\00:18:48.26 with the help of the Holy Spirit 00:18:48.29\00:18:51.53 to understand the truth. 00:18:51.56\00:18:54.33 I do not need... 00:18:54.36\00:18:56.36 Pardon my saying this. 00:18:56.40\00:18:57.73 I do not need the pope. 00:18:57.77\00:19:01.34 I have the Holy Scriptures 00:19:01.37\00:19:03.44 and I have the Holy Spirit. 00:19:03.47\00:19:05.21 Come with me to John 16:13, my friends. 00:19:05.24\00:19:10.98 John Chapter 16, 00:19:11.01\00:19:13.45 pray that God will help us all 00:19:13.48\00:19:15.28 to understand this today, 00:19:15.32\00:19:17.29 pray for a spiritual encounter. 00:19:17.32\00:19:20.19 John 16:13, 00:19:20.22\00:19:24.89 Jesus said, 00:19:24.93\00:19:26.26 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, 00:19:26.29\00:19:30.63 He will guide you into all truth, 00:19:30.67\00:19:34.00 for He will not speak on His own authority, 00:19:34.04\00:19:36.81 but whatever He hears, He will speak, 00:19:36.84\00:19:39.17 and He will tell you things to come." 00:19:39.21\00:19:41.61 The Bible tells me, 00:19:41.64\00:19:44.71 "If a Holy Spirit will come to a person 00:19:44.75\00:19:47.32 who's got an open heart and an open mind, 00:19:47.35\00:19:50.99 and the Holy Spirit will possess that person 00:19:51.02\00:19:53.86 and lead him into all truth." 00:19:53.89\00:19:56.39 So this means that we've got to have more 00:19:56.42\00:19:59.09 than a personal experience 00:19:59.13\00:20:01.03 with the preacher, or the pope, or the priest, 00:20:01.06\00:20:04.83 you've got to have a personal experience with God. 00:20:04.87\00:20:09.57 Listen to this, 00:20:09.60\00:20:11.14 "The poorest person, 00:20:11.17\00:20:14.58 armed with the Bible, with Scripture, 00:20:14.61\00:20:19.18 and the Holy Spirit 00:20:19.21\00:20:21.25 is greater than the mightiest Pope 00:20:21.28\00:20:24.05 without Scripture and the Spirit." 00:20:24.09\00:20:27.49 Do you hear what I'm saying? 00:20:27.52\00:20:29.62 You say, "No, I can't believe that." 00:20:29.66\00:20:32.29 I said, "You step out of the box." 00:20:32.33\00:20:36.50 Start to think as a person who is called by God, 00:20:36.53\00:20:40.94 start to think as a child of God, 00:20:40.97\00:20:44.34 and not as a slave 00:20:44.37\00:20:45.94 and as a dummy. 00:20:45.97\00:20:48.78 I refuse to be a conformist 00:20:48.81\00:20:53.05 for position, or power, or influence. 00:20:53.08\00:20:57.72 And so a simple child of God, 00:20:57.75\00:21:00.46 armed with Holy Scripture, 00:21:00.49\00:21:03.16 and filled with the Holy Spirit 00:21:03.19\00:21:05.63 is greater than the mightiest Pope 00:21:05.66\00:21:08.76 without that Scripture 00:21:08.80\00:21:10.67 or the Holy Spirit 00:21:10.70\00:21:12.37 said Martin Luther. 00:21:12.40\00:21:14.00 Therefore, 00:21:18.44\00:21:21.54 be a person who thinks outside the box 00:21:21.58\00:21:24.08 and be a person of courage and depth. 00:21:24.11\00:21:28.02 Who were the Jesuits? 00:21:28.05\00:21:30.72 They're the smartest people in the world, 00:21:30.75\00:21:34.16 the best scholars in the world 00:21:34.19\00:21:36.73 led by Ignatius of Loyola, 00:21:36.76\00:21:39.09 the Spanish produced some great people. 00:21:39.13\00:21:41.33 The Spanish in those days were leading the world, 00:21:41.36\00:21:44.63 they were ruling the world 00:21:44.67\00:21:46.20 until they made a mistake 00:21:46.23\00:21:48.67 in sending the Spanish armada, 00:21:48.70\00:21:50.84 that was their end. 00:21:50.87\00:21:53.21 Ignatius came from a little Spanish town 00:21:53.24\00:21:56.58 by the name of Loyola. 00:21:56.61\00:22:00.62 And he devised a new gospel 00:22:00.65\00:22:03.08 that most folks believe today maybe you. 00:22:03.12\00:22:07.49 He established the Society of Jesus, 00:22:07.52\00:22:10.03 why? 00:22:10.06\00:22:11.39 'Cause he wanted to be like Jesus. 00:22:11.43\00:22:14.06 He was a contemporary of Luther. 00:22:14.10\00:22:16.73 He was given the great charge, 00:22:16.77\00:22:19.47 God has raised you up. 00:22:19.50\00:22:20.84 Martin Luther got his teachings from the Bible. 00:22:20.87\00:22:24.77 Ignatius got his teachings 00:22:24.81\00:22:26.74 from dreams and visions. 00:22:26.78\00:22:31.41 And he became 00:22:31.45\00:22:32.78 the leader of this great army called the Jesuits. 00:22:32.81\00:22:36.69 And they had one great ambition, 00:22:36.72\00:22:39.25 destroy the Protestants 00:22:39.29\00:22:41.62 and destroy the teaching of Sola Scriptura, 00:22:41.66\00:22:46.59 Solus Christus, Sola Gratia, 00:22:46.63\00:22:49.30 and Sola Fide, get rid of the gospel. 00:22:49.33\00:22:54.97 And they were the ones who ran the inquisition. 00:22:55.00\00:22:57.97 You see, if you get the wrong gospel, 00:22:58.01\00:23:02.38 the wrong gospel 00:23:02.41\00:23:04.21 will make you into a very cruel, 00:23:04.25\00:23:07.82 arbitrary, selfish, self-righteous person. 00:23:07.85\00:23:12.55 You know what I'm talking about. 00:23:12.59\00:23:14.09 You meet people who're so filled with religion 00:23:14.12\00:23:17.89 that if they smiled, their faces will crack. 00:23:17.93\00:23:21.03 You met these people. 00:23:21.06\00:23:23.33 Most likely, 00:23:23.37\00:23:24.70 they have the doctrine of the Jesuits 00:23:24.73\00:23:27.10 burning in their soul. 00:23:27.14\00:23:30.21 After Luther, they called the great Council of Trent, 00:23:30.24\00:23:33.31 remember this? 00:23:33.34\00:23:36.11 The great Council of Trent went on for years. 00:23:36.14\00:23:39.25 And they studied the teachings of the reformers. 00:23:39.28\00:23:42.35 They said, 00:23:42.38\00:23:43.72 "Shall we get back to the Bible? 00:23:43.75\00:23:45.09 Shall it be Sola Scriptura?" 00:23:45.12\00:23:46.86 And in the end, they said, "No." 00:23:46.89\00:23:49.72 Scripture? Yes. 00:23:49.76\00:23:51.69 But Scripture as defined by the church, 00:23:51.73\00:23:57.57 one Holy Church, 00:23:57.60\00:23:59.20 and you cannot be saved 00:23:59.23\00:24:01.24 unless you are a member 00:24:01.27\00:24:03.87 of the one Holy Catholic Church. 00:24:03.91\00:24:07.98 That's one of their great doctrines. 00:24:08.01\00:24:10.18 Scripture must be interpreted by the Holy Church. 00:24:10.21\00:24:14.38 You can't understand Scripture, 00:24:14.42\00:24:16.48 you need the pope, 00:24:16.52\00:24:17.85 you need the cardinals, 00:24:17.89\00:24:19.25 you need the church. 00:24:19.29\00:24:22.56 And then they took on the doctrine of the gospel 00:24:22.59\00:24:25.49 as taught by the Protestant reformers. 00:24:25.53\00:24:28.06 I know this is a shock to the audience, 00:24:28.10\00:24:30.90 those who are seriously interested in truth. 00:24:30.93\00:24:37.31 And they brought this out. 00:24:37.34\00:24:39.24 "That we are saved by Christ alone, 00:24:39.27\00:24:43.14 through grace alone, 00:24:43.18\00:24:45.91 by faith, plus the works of love 00:24:45.95\00:24:49.72 wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit." 00:24:49.75\00:24:53.15 People say, "That's what I believe. 00:24:53.19\00:24:55.02 I believe this, I believe this." 00:24:55.06\00:24:57.09 But Martin Luther taught this, 00:24:57.13\00:24:58.89 going to put this up on this side. 00:24:58.93\00:25:01.23 "By Christ alone, by Scripture alone, 00:25:01.26\00:25:04.83 by grace alone, by faith alone." 00:25:04.87\00:25:07.64 And you say, "I'm confused, I can't see any difference." 00:25:07.67\00:25:10.54 Or maybe you've been believing Jesuit theology for too long. 00:25:13.54\00:25:20.02 Look at this, 00:25:20.05\00:25:21.38 "Faith, plus the works of love 00:25:21.42\00:25:23.59 wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit." 00:25:23.62\00:25:26.92 When do I ever have enough of them? 00:25:26.96\00:25:31.16 Never. 00:25:31.19\00:25:32.53 That's why this purgatory, you see. 00:25:32.56\00:25:36.46 And I know people, 00:25:36.50\00:25:38.23 "Yeah, I'm right with God, 00:25:38.27\00:25:40.00 I think I am, but I'm not good enough yet." 00:25:40.04\00:25:44.77 And when I'm good enough 00:25:44.81\00:25:46.68 and I'm sinless, 00:25:46.71\00:25:49.84 are we saved. 00:25:49.88\00:25:52.31 More amazing truths 00:25:52.35\00:25:55.38 coming soon 00:25:55.42\00:25:56.75 as we talk about the Jesuits 00:25:56.79\00:26:00.79 and the True Gospel of Christ. 00:26:00.82\00:26:02.42 The reviews 00:26:15.60\00:26:16.94 for the John Carter biography are in, 00:26:16.97\00:26:18.74 and this is what they say: 00:26:18.77\00:26:20.81 "Anyone who reads this fascinating book 00:26:20.84\00:26:22.68 and is not moved 00:26:22.71\00:26:24.05 should check to see if they still have a pulse." 00:26:24.08\00:26:28.22 "I believe this book 00:26:28.25\00:26:29.58 about God's miracles in Russia and Ukraine 00:26:29.62\00:26:31.62 will burn the flame in your heart." 00:26:31.65\00:26:35.39 "This could prove to be one of the most important books 00:26:35.42\00:26:37.69 ever written about public evangelism. 00:26:37.73\00:26:39.96 Make sure you get a copy." 00:26:40.00\00:26:43.93 "I believe this book about John Carter's life 00:26:43.97\00:26:45.93 will help readers grasp a vision for their lives." 00:26:45.97\00:26:48.37 For a donation of $100 or more, 00:26:55.14\00:26:57.88 a signed copy of the John Carter biography 00:26:57.91\00:27:00.25 can be yours by writing to us 00:27:00.28\00:27:02.02 at the address on the screen or visit our website. 00:27:02.05\00:27:04.69 Greater Manila is more than 20 million souls. 00:27:18.23\00:27:21.70 Almost all these beautiful people are ignorant 00:27:21.74\00:27:24.31 of the true Gospel of Christ. 00:27:24.34\00:27:26.44 Manila needs Jesus. 00:27:26.47\00:27:28.51 Thirty five years ago, 00:27:28.54\00:27:30.11 John Carter came to Manila. 00:27:30.15\00:27:32.08 Pastor Carter is returning to Manila 00:27:32.11\00:27:34.25 with an urgent assignment, 00:27:34.28\00:27:35.88 preach the Gospel of Christ 00:27:35.92\00:27:37.65 and the great truths of the Bible. 00:27:37.69\00:27:39.89 Don't water down the message. 00:27:39.92\00:27:41.89 Make it plain, make it clear, 00:27:41.92\00:27:44.03 make it Christ centered. 00:27:44.06\00:27:45.99 The Carter Report needs your help now 00:27:46.03\00:27:49.03 to light a fire in the Philippines. 00:27:49.06\00:27:51.17 Your gift will help open the doors of bondage, 00:27:51.20\00:27:54.07 smash the chains of sin, 00:27:54.10\00:27:55.97 and open the gates of paradise 00:27:56.00\00:27:57.61 to thousands of lost souls. 00:27:57.64\00:27:59.91 The churches have sent out an urgent plea 00:27:59.94\00:28:02.38 for the Carter Report to return. 00:28:02.41\00:28:04.51 Help us proclaim the true Gospel of Christ 00:28:04.55\00:28:07.22 to the beautiful Philippino people. 00:28:07.25\00:28:09.62 Please send your support to the address on the screen. 00:28:09.65\00:28:12.49 Visit our website or call the Carter Report. 00:28:12.52\00:28:15.19 For a copy of today's program, 00:28:19.96\00:28:21.96 please contact us at P.O.
