I'm John Carter in Moscow... 00:00:01.36\00:00:02.70 I'm now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:00:02.73\00:00:04.53 I'm John Carter in Petra... 00:00:04.57\00:00:06.40 Reporting from India... 00:00:06.43\00:00:08.44 In Columbia... 00:00:08.47\00:00:09.80 I'm John Carter. 00:00:09.84\00:00:11.21 Today on the Carter Report, 00:00:11.24\00:00:13.74 Pastor Carter brings us the triumph of Protestantism. 00:00:13.78\00:00:16.75 We welcome you back 00:00:21.82\00:00:23.18 to the second part of the program 00:00:23.22\00:00:24.59 on the triumph of Protestantism. 00:00:24.62\00:00:27.56 In the last portion of the presentation, 00:00:27.59\00:00:30.19 I talked about the Dark Ages, 00:00:30.23\00:00:31.76 how the church went down 00:00:31.79\00:00:33.40 into the darkness of papal night. 00:00:33.43\00:00:36.70 We spoke about all these strange, 00:00:36.73\00:00:39.40 awful teachings from pagan Rome that invaded the church. 00:00:39.43\00:00:44.84 Then I thought rising sun shedding its rays 00:00:44.87\00:00:50.25 across solemn and darken landscape 00:00:50.28\00:00:53.62 came the Protestant Reformation. 00:00:53.65\00:00:59.42 John Wycliffe, have you heard of him? 00:00:59.45\00:01:02.12 In the 1300s, he was over there in England 00:01:02.16\00:01:04.56 translating the Bible. 00:01:04.59\00:01:06.19 All of these people were terribly persecuted 00:01:06.23\00:01:08.40 and some of them were put to death 00:01:08.43\00:01:10.00 because they actually read the Bible. 00:01:10.03\00:01:12.63 In Bohemia or Czechoslovakia in the 1400s, 00:01:12.67\00:01:16.64 it was a Roman Catholic priest by the name of Jan Hus 00:01:16.67\00:01:21.28 preaching the Bible, 00:01:21.31\00:01:22.64 a great preacher, great man of God, 00:01:22.68\00:01:25.28 they burned him at the stake, burned millions of people 00:01:25.31\00:01:31.62 mainly Roman Catholics, Jews, and then Protestants. 00:01:31.65\00:01:35.29 Then there was Martin Luther, the German priest 00:01:35.32\00:01:39.89 stood before the Diet of Worms in 1521 00:01:39.93\00:01:43.63 said those famous words, "Unless I am convinced 00:01:43.67\00:01:46.90 by the plain words of the Bible or by reason, 00:01:46.94\00:01:52.17 my conscience is captive to the Word of God. 00:01:52.21\00:01:56.71 I cannot and I will not recant. 00:01:56.75\00:02:01.02 Here I stand, God help me." 00:02:01.05\00:02:04.72 In Switzerland, in the 1530, there was John Calvin. 00:02:04.75\00:02:09.39 And in Scotland in the 1560s, 00:02:09.42\00:02:12.29 there was John Knox preaching the Word of God. 00:02:12.33\00:02:15.96 Now these great preachers had all of this in common, 00:02:16.00\00:02:20.30 they believed in the great Solas. 00:02:20.34\00:02:23.44 Now if you forget everything else today 00:02:23.47\00:02:26.27 become intelligently informed on this great subject 00:02:26.31\00:02:30.25 and understand and believe the great Solas. 00:02:30.28\00:02:34.42 Sola Christus, Latin, only Christ. 00:02:34.45\00:02:37.65 Sola scriptura, only scripture, 00:02:37.69\00:02:40.69 everything comes from the Bible. 00:02:40.72\00:02:42.82 Sola gratia, only grace, 00:02:42.86\00:02:44.93 I can only be saved by the grace of God. 00:02:44.96\00:02:47.70 Sola fide, only faith, faith in Christ, 00:02:47.73\00:02:53.17 my Savior and my great High Priest. 00:02:53.20\00:02:56.54 And the Book of Romans 00:02:56.57\00:02:59.91 became the powerhouse of the Protestant Reformation. 00:02:59.94\00:03:05.28 Martin Luther took as his great text, 00:03:05.31\00:03:08.62 Romans 1:16 and 17, 00:03:08.65\00:03:12.05 I want you to notice it, Romans 1, 00:03:12.09\00:03:14.29 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, 00:03:14.32\00:03:17.16 not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, 00:03:17.19\00:03:19.69 for it is the power of God to salvation 00:03:19.73\00:03:23.03 for everyone who believes, 00:03:23.06\00:03:25.03 for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 00:03:25.07\00:03:28.97 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed 00:03:29.00\00:03:33.11 from faith to faith, as it is written, 00:03:33.14\00:03:36.85 'The just shall live by faith.'" 00:03:36.88\00:03:39.78 Martin Luther had a tremendous mind, 00:03:39.81\00:03:44.85 and as a Roman Catholic priest, 00:03:44.89\00:03:47.49 he heard about the righteousness of God. 00:03:47.52\00:03:50.06 And Martin Luther said, "I hate it. 00:03:50.09\00:03:54.56 I hate it." 00:03:54.60\00:03:56.13 His old priest who is hearing his sin said, 00:03:56.16\00:03:58.40 "Why do you hate it?" 00:03:58.43\00:03:59.77 He says, "Because God is righteous, I'm unrighteous, 00:03:59.80\00:04:04.41 God is sinless, I'm a sinner, therefore God hates me. 00:04:04.44\00:04:09.54 And if God hates me then I hate God." 00:04:09.58\00:04:14.38 The righteousness of God I hate it. 00:04:14.42\00:04:17.12 And then he came through his study 00:04:17.15\00:04:19.35 to comprehend the truth 00:04:19.39\00:04:21.29 that when the Bible talks about the righteousness of God, 00:04:21.32\00:04:25.79 it doesn't mean to condemn us but to save us. 00:04:25.83\00:04:29.50 It is the righteousness that comes from Christ 00:04:29.53\00:04:32.37 because of His death on the cross 00:04:32.40\00:04:34.47 and which is given to us as a free gift, 00:04:34.50\00:04:37.77 and that was the power house of the Protestant Reformation. 00:04:37.81\00:04:41.34 Come over now to Romans 3:20 to 24. 00:04:41.38\00:04:46.92 Some would say, 00:04:46.95\00:04:48.28 this is the high watermark of scripture. 00:04:48.32\00:04:51.79 "Therefore by the deeds of the law 00:04:51.82\00:04:54.32 no flesh will be justified in His sight, 00:04:54.36\00:04:56.73 for by the law is the knowledge of sin." 00:04:56.76\00:04:58.53 You can't be saved by your good works. 00:04:58.56\00:05:01.96 "But now the righteousness of God 00:05:02.00\00:05:03.77 apart from the law is revealed, 00:05:03.80\00:05:05.63 being witnessed by the law and the Prophets, 00:05:05.67\00:05:07.77 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, 00:05:07.80\00:05:13.07 to all and on all who believe. 00:05:13.11\00:05:16.04 For there is no difference, 00:05:16.08\00:05:18.51 all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 00:05:18.55\00:05:21.82 being justified," declared righteous, 00:05:21.85\00:05:25.65 "justified freely by His grace 00:05:25.69\00:05:28.92 through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." 00:05:28.96\00:05:31.93 Listen, this became heart and the soul 00:05:31.96\00:05:37.20 of the Protestant Reformation 00:05:37.23\00:05:39.77 that I cannot earn my own righteousness, 00:05:39.80\00:05:42.67 I cannot pay for my sins, 00:05:42.70\00:05:45.01 the Christ on the cross has already paid for my sins. 00:05:45.04\00:05:50.71 And therefore if I believe in Him, 00:05:50.75\00:05:53.42 I am declared righteous. 00:05:53.45\00:05:56.42 Look at this, "I am declared righteous 00:05:56.45\00:06:00.76 the moment I come to Him in true faith." 00:06:00.79\00:06:05.49 And if this is true, if this is true, 00:06:05.53\00:06:09.10 I do not need an earthly priest. 00:06:09.13\00:06:12.83 I do not need to go and confess my sins to a priest. 00:06:12.87\00:06:16.50 I have Christ. 00:06:16.54\00:06:18.34 Christ is my High Priest. 00:06:18.37\00:06:20.68 Christ paid for my sins with His own blood 00:06:20.71\00:06:24.05 and therefore I am free. 00:06:24.08\00:06:28.85 Now The Economist magazine 00:06:28.88\00:06:30.65 has told us a little bit about Protestant Reformation 00:06:30.69\00:06:34.19 and I was quite amazed to read this 00:06:34.22\00:06:38.99 in this secular magazine. 00:06:39.03\00:06:42.20 Early Christianity, this was the pristine gospel. 00:06:42.23\00:06:47.20 And over here, you've got the Eastern Orthodox Church 00:06:47.24\00:06:50.14 that later on became the Russian Orthodox Church. 00:06:50.17\00:06:52.87 But over here, you've got a break way, 00:06:52.91\00:06:55.84 the Roman Catholic Church. 00:06:55.88\00:06:58.05 And then you've got the coming of the Protestant Reformers. 00:06:58.08\00:07:03.32 You can see there, "The Reformation, 1517, 00:07:03.35\00:07:07.46 Martin Luther, John Calvin, the Anabaptist, 00:07:07.49\00:07:11.76 the Anglicans in England preaching the Word of God. 00:07:11.79\00:07:15.86 And then you had the Presbyterians 00:07:15.90\00:07:18.20 and the Mennonites. 00:07:18.23\00:07:19.70 And then you come down a little bit further 00:07:19.73\00:07:21.97 to the Baptists, and the Puritans, 00:07:22.00\00:07:24.87 the people who founded the United States of America 00:07:24.91\00:07:29.04 and there would have been no America 00:07:29.08\00:07:32.35 without the Protestant Reformation, don't forget it. 00:07:32.38\00:07:36.62 So it talks about the Puritans. 00:07:36.65\00:07:39.05 Then you come down to the Quakers, 00:07:39.09\00:07:40.99 the Congregationalists, and the Amish. 00:07:41.02\00:07:43.69 Then you come down to the Great Awakenings, 00:07:43.73\00:07:46.53 and you have the Southern Baptists. 00:07:46.56\00:07:49.46 And then we're told by The Economist, 00:07:49.50\00:07:52.50 you've also got there 00:07:52.53\00:07:54.00 as true Protestants Seventh-day Adventists, 00:07:54.04\00:07:58.07 and the Methodists, and the Salvation Army, 00:07:58.11\00:08:01.38 and the Assemblies of God, 00:08:01.41\00:08:04.01 and it talks about all the churches 00:08:04.05\00:08:06.01 that came from the Protestant Reformation. 00:08:06.05\00:08:07.92 And these churches were raised up by God. 00:08:10.99\00:08:16.42 And when they were raised up by God, 00:08:16.46\00:08:19.13 they brought a positive message 00:08:19.16\00:08:21.80 of hope and salvation to the world, 00:08:21.83\00:08:25.07 the results of Protestantism. 00:08:25.10\00:08:26.57 Now, I know this gets some people terribly mad, 00:08:26.60\00:08:28.80 but you can argue with me 00:08:28.84\00:08:30.67 but you can't argue with the facts. 00:08:30.71\00:08:32.87 These are just the facts. 00:08:32.91\00:08:34.44 The Economist magazine is not a religious article, 00:08:34.48\00:08:37.95 it's just telling you the facts. 00:08:37.98\00:08:40.12 It's talking about economics. 00:08:40.15\00:08:44.32 The results of Protestantism, freedom of conscience. 00:08:44.35\00:08:48.42 I have a free conscience 00:08:48.46\00:08:49.79 because I've confessed my sins to Jesus 00:08:49.82\00:08:52.89 and Jesus has forgiven me. 00:08:52.93\00:08:54.96 Freedom of conscience, prosperity in all things, 00:08:55.00\00:09:00.60 and the liberation of women, and that is why, ladies, 00:09:00.64\00:09:04.74 if you want to go to a place where women are liberated, 00:09:04.77\00:09:09.28 you better go to a place 00:09:09.31\00:09:10.85 that has heard the Protestant gospel. 00:09:10.88\00:09:15.38 This is the truth. 00:09:15.42\00:09:18.49 I'm going to read to you here from The Economist. 00:09:18.52\00:09:20.72 Let me see what I can find for you. 00:09:20.76\00:09:24.56 It says, "Protestant toleration was good for business, too." 00:09:24.59\00:09:30.20 It goes on and says, that the wealthiest countries 00:09:30.23\00:09:33.44 in the world were the Protestant ones. 00:09:33.47\00:09:37.64 It's true. 00:09:37.67\00:09:39.01 Like the United States... 00:09:39.04\00:09:40.38 Just go and look and see where the Protestant Reformers 00:09:40.41\00:09:45.21 unleashed their message upon the world. 00:09:45.25\00:09:49.75 They're the best countries in the world. 00:09:49.78\00:09:51.99 It's where women are liberated 00:09:52.02\00:09:54.72 and it's where people are the happiest 00:09:54.76\00:09:58.36 and the most prosperous. 00:09:58.39\00:10:00.93 This is the truth 00:10:00.96\00:10:03.57 and it even draws a map of those countries. 00:10:03.60\00:10:08.40 "The places where Protestantism is most alive 00:10:08.44\00:10:12.31 and seems politically most salient 00:10:12.34\00:10:15.18 where its churches continue to argue about 00:10:15.21\00:10:18.08 who is right and what the Bible means, 00:10:18.11\00:10:20.52 issuing statements and counterstatements 00:10:20.55\00:10:22.92 just as Luther did," 00:10:22.95\00:10:26.45 this is where it says it's retained, 00:10:26.49\00:10:28.49 it's important status in the world. 00:10:28.52\00:10:33.13 And then it says, "Where overweening rulers 00:10:33.16\00:10:36.46 clash with people demanding 00:10:36.50\00:10:38.53 their rights to religious freedom, 00:10:38.57\00:10:41.07 Luther's divisive, dynamic spirit 00:10:41.10\00:10:43.91 will remain an inspiration for a long time to come." 00:10:43.94\00:10:47.51 And then it goes on to say this. 00:10:47.54\00:10:50.08 Now listen to is, my American friends. 00:10:50.11\00:10:51.65 Communist China is an oppressive place, 00:10:55.48\00:10:59.35 but that's where Protestantism thrives. 00:10:59.39\00:11:02.39 We thrive when we are oppressed, 00:11:02.42\00:11:06.16 and in communist China 00:11:06.19\00:11:07.96 where people are being still beaten up for their faith, 00:11:08.00\00:11:12.47 where the government is bulldozing our churches. 00:11:12.50\00:11:17.37 Within the next three or four years, 00:11:17.41\00:11:20.88 The Economist magazine says, we are going to have 00:11:20.91\00:11:26.01 more than 160 million Protestants, 00:11:26.05\00:11:32.29 160 million. 00:11:32.32\00:11:34.86 It says, America no longer will be 00:11:34.89\00:11:36.99 the biggest Protestant country, 00:11:37.03\00:11:38.63 it will be China where people are going, 00:11:38.66\00:11:44.27 are still being oppressed, 00:11:44.30\00:11:49.17 where the Protestants grow 00:11:49.20\00:11:52.57 so God blesses the nation. 00:11:52.61\00:11:56.14 It's a fact, you can argue with me, 00:11:56.18\00:11:58.18 may not like what I'm saying, it's the truth. 00:11:58.21\00:12:01.38 The best countries, the freest countries, 00:12:01.42\00:12:05.49 the most prosperous countries, I've been around the world 00:12:05.52\00:12:08.02 so many times, I've lost count. 00:12:08.06\00:12:10.69 The cleanest countries, the safest countries, 00:12:10.73\00:12:14.20 the healthiest countries are the countries 00:12:14.23\00:12:17.77 that accepted the preaching of the Protestant Reformers. 00:12:17.80\00:12:21.90 That's the truth. That's the truth. 00:12:21.94\00:12:26.17 And that's why so many people from other countries 00:12:26.21\00:12:29.48 are just lining up to get into these countries 00:12:29.51\00:12:31.98 where the gospel was preached, 00:12:32.01\00:12:34.05 that's what's happening. 00:12:34.08\00:12:36.25 Protestantism, 500 years ago, a Roman Catholic priest, 00:12:36.28\00:12:41.72 I'm not saying anything against Catholics, 00:12:41.76\00:12:43.83 the heroes of this story they're all Roman Catholics, 00:12:43.86\00:12:47.90 Protestants reformers, Roman Catholics. 00:12:47.93\00:12:51.93 Five hundred years ago a Roman Catholic priest 00:12:51.97\00:12:54.17 nailed his 95 theses 00:12:54.20\00:12:56.87 to the door of a Roman Catholic Church, 00:12:56.91\00:13:00.18 he had some courage. 00:13:00.21\00:13:04.31 He started a revolution that released a tidal wave 00:13:04.35\00:13:07.45 of freedom, life, and prosperity 00:13:07.48\00:13:10.25 around the world. 00:13:10.29\00:13:11.62 And I have a question for you, 00:13:11.65\00:13:14.19 and I've got a question 00:13:14.22\00:13:15.62 for the television audience, here it is. 00:13:15.66\00:13:19.59 Are you a Protestant or are you a Roman Catholic? 00:18:05.35\00:18:07.35 And you may know some poor little Protestant Church 00:18:07.38\00:18:10.62 in America or Australia that's dying. 00:18:10.65\00:18:14.92 That's probably those people in that church 00:18:14.96\00:18:18.29 are Catholic Protestants. 00:18:18.33\00:18:21.20 They don't know what they believe, 00:18:21.23\00:18:22.66 they've got no conviction, 00:18:22.70\00:18:24.33 they've got no fire in their bellies, 00:18:24.37\00:18:26.17 they're lazy, you see? 00:18:26.20\00:18:30.24 But I want you to know that the true Protestant Church 00:18:30.27\00:18:32.91 is marching home to glory, hallelujah! 00:18:32.94\00:18:36.01 Now let me give you a text, 00:18:36.04\00:18:37.68 Revelation 7:9, 10 and bit more. 00:18:37.71\00:18:42.75 Revelation 7:9, "After these things 00:18:42.78\00:18:46.65 I looked and behold, 00:18:46.69\00:18:48.62 a great multitude which no one could number, 00:18:48.66\00:18:52.43 of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, 00:18:52.46\00:18:55.83 standing before the throne and before the Lamb, 00:18:55.86\00:18:59.67 clothed with white robes, 00:18:59.70\00:19:01.57 with palm branches in their hands, 00:19:01.60\00:19:04.14 and crying out with a loud voice, 00:19:04.17\00:19:05.77 saying, 'Salvation belongs to our God 00:19:05.81\00:19:09.78 who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'" Christ. 00:19:09.81\00:19:14.85 "Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, 00:19:14.88\00:19:17.52 'Who are these arrayed in white robes," you see? 00:19:17.55\00:19:21.16 They're justified. Who are they? 00:19:21.19\00:19:23.43 "Where did they come from? 00:19:23.46\00:19:24.79 I said to him, 'Sir, you know.' 00:19:24.83\00:19:26.49 So he said to me, 'These are the ones 00:19:26.53\00:19:28.93 who came out of the great tribulation, 00:19:28.96\00:19:31.00 and washed their robes 00:19:31.03\00:19:33.03 and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'" 00:19:33.07\00:19:35.84 They are true Protestants. 00:19:35.87\00:19:37.97 You know why? 00:19:38.01\00:19:39.34 'Cause they're washed in the blood of the Lamb. 00:19:39.37\00:19:41.88 They go directly to Christ for salvation. 00:19:41.91\00:19:45.11 They have a personal experience with Christ. 00:19:45.15\00:19:47.42 You see, Catholicism emphasizes the glory of the church 00:19:47.45\00:19:53.89 and the infallibility of the pontiff. 00:19:53.92\00:19:57.26 Protestantism emphasizes not the glory of the church, 00:19:57.29\00:20:01.00 but the glory of the Christ, you see, 00:20:01.03\00:20:04.87 and the fallibility of all earthly committees 00:20:04.90\00:20:11.11 and earthly people. 00:20:11.14\00:20:15.14 So don't you get it out of your heads 00:20:15.18\00:20:17.05 if you want to be saved. 00:20:17.08\00:20:19.11 Sola Christus, only Christ. 00:20:19.15\00:20:21.68 Sola scriptura, only scripture. 00:20:21.72\00:20:24.85 Sola gratia, only grace. 00:20:24.89\00:20:27.66 Can't you hear, Luther? 00:20:27.69\00:20:29.19 Sola fide, only faith. 00:20:29.22\00:20:33.43 We're not saved by faith and works, 00:20:33.46\00:20:35.66 we're saved by our faith that works. 00:20:35.70\00:20:39.70 You see, you get it. 00:20:39.73\00:20:44.14 So it's marching home to glory. 00:20:44.17\00:20:47.01 Millions in the Roman Catholic countries of Latin America 00:20:47.04\00:20:50.81 are leaving the Church of Rome 00:20:50.85\00:20:52.18 and joining the Church of Jesus. 00:20:52.21\00:20:54.65 In 1970, there were 23 million Protestants in Latin America, 00:20:54.68\00:20:58.65 they're now up to 2015, 121 million Protestants. 00:20:58.69\00:21:04.36 Now, I have been to El Salvador, 00:21:04.39\00:21:10.53 a Roman Catholic country, full of crime, full of drugs, 00:21:10.57\00:21:16.64 full of violence, and full of darkness, 00:21:16.67\00:21:22.18 but God is not dead in El Salvador. 00:21:22.21\00:21:25.11 I want you to see the people who came to the meetings. 00:21:25.15\00:21:28.85 We hired 765 busses to bring the people. 00:21:28.88\00:21:35.16 Here they, look at the stadium, 00:21:35.19\00:21:37.43 it is the biggest stadium in Central America, 00:21:37.46\00:21:41.60 the biggest crowd 00:21:41.63\00:21:42.96 in the history of the football stadium 00:21:43.00\00:21:44.80 and those folks are crazy for football. 00:21:44.83\00:21:47.64 But I want to tell you 00:21:47.67\00:21:49.00 there's something stronger than football, 00:21:49.04\00:21:51.84 it is Sola Christus, only Christ, Sola scriptura, 00:21:51.87\00:21:56.48 sola gratia, sola fide, this is what we preach there. 00:21:56.51\00:22:01.28 In one day, we saw 5,000, 00:22:01.32\00:22:05.39 many Roman Catholics baptized. 00:22:05.42\00:22:08.62 The vice president of the nation said to me, 00:22:08.66\00:22:11.33 this is what El Salvador needs, 00:22:11.36\00:22:13.90 that Protestant gospel because that liberates people. 00:22:13.93\00:22:18.10 It lifts people up, it redeems people, you see. 00:22:18.13\00:22:24.61 So I'm a Protestant, I guess you can work that out by now. 00:22:24.64\00:22:28.04 I'm on the winning side. 00:22:28.08\00:22:30.81 My beloved dad was a strong Roman Catholic. 00:22:30.85\00:22:35.72 His father and mother were strong Roman Catholics, 00:22:35.75\00:22:38.02 his mother came from Tipperary. 00:22:38.05\00:22:40.79 And his father came from England, 00:22:40.82\00:22:42.66 but he was a Catholic too. 00:22:42.69\00:22:44.86 As a boy, my dear old dad all he knew was the church, 00:22:44.89\00:22:49.36 many beatings were his mistakes, 00:22:49.40\00:22:52.93 he was an altar boy in the church. 00:22:52.97\00:22:57.91 Well, I knew him growing up, I saw he had no peace, no joy, 00:22:57.94\00:23:02.91 he knew the math and Latin, but he never read the Bible, 00:23:02.94\00:23:06.08 he didn't know what it was. 00:23:06.11\00:23:10.49 He lived in fear of hell, 00:23:10.52\00:23:13.15 until he found the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. 00:23:13.19\00:23:17.69 He started to read his Bible, 00:23:17.73\00:23:20.40 he found hope, and faith, and joy 00:23:20.43\00:23:24.63 and was baptized as a Protestant Adventist. 00:23:24.67\00:23:30.21 He died with the certainty of the resurrection. 00:23:30.24\00:23:34.71 He died believing in only Christ, only scripture, 00:23:34.74\00:23:38.58 only grace, only faith, 00:23:38.61\00:23:41.22 I could have been a Catholic priest, 00:23:41.25\00:23:46.22 but with the help of my mother who was a strong Protestant, 00:23:46.25\00:23:50.13 I found the true gospel. 00:23:50.16\00:23:54.36 And today, I thank God that first and foremost, 00:23:54.40\00:24:01.00 I am a Christian, that's my religion. 00:24:01.04\00:24:06.37 And secondly, I thank God 00:24:06.41\00:24:09.54 that I am a Protestant. 00:24:09.58\00:24:14.02 And thirdly, thirdly, 00:24:14.05\00:24:18.39 I am an Adventist. 00:24:18.42\00:24:22.12 And in that order, and if you get it wrong, 00:24:22.16\00:24:25.23 you won't be a Christian, you won't be a Protestant, 00:24:25.26\00:24:27.73 you won't be anything, 00:24:27.76\00:24:31.17 except a very unhappy person. 00:24:31.20\00:24:34.50 And today, I'm going to do something 00:24:34.54\00:24:36.71 as we wind up this program. 00:24:36.74\00:24:39.01 I'm going to dedicate this program 00:24:39.04\00:24:40.94 to my mom and my dad, 00:24:40.98\00:24:44.31 to James and Jean Carter. 00:24:44.35\00:24:48.25 This old man who died 00:24:48.28\00:24:50.99 with his faith in Christ as a true Protestant, 00:24:51.02\00:24:55.59 no longer fearing the flame, 00:24:55.62\00:25:00.83 and I dedicated to my mother 00:25:00.86\00:25:05.23 'cause she is with my two sisters. 00:25:05.27\00:25:08.70 And there she was when she was 97 years of age 00:25:08.74\00:25:13.61 going strong, reading the Bible, 00:25:13.64\00:25:16.95 and giving me a hard time. 00:25:16.98\00:25:20.18 So I dedicate the program to them. 00:25:23.25\00:25:26.82 My mother, a great Protestant 00:25:26.86\00:25:32.23 who understood the prophecies of the Bible, 00:25:32.26\00:25:35.30 who taught me to love the Bible 00:25:35.33\00:25:40.10 and to hate the antichrist, 00:25:40.14\00:25:44.47 and to be true to the faith of my fathers. 00:25:44.51\00:25:49.28
