Cliff was 61 years of age.

Now in Australia,
they have a marathon,

it is a super, super marathon.

They run from
Melbourne to Sydney

and that's a
distance of about 540 miles,

that's a long way
to run a marathon.

And the people who go into
this marathon are young guys,

they're fit, they're some
of the world's best athletes.

the marathon started,

Cliff turned up,

in his, in his rubber boots.

And they said, "You've
come to just watch the status."

"No, no," he said,
"I've come to run."

They had lots of television
cameras there, and they said,

I'm going to do it."

They said, "You're not going
to get a mile off the road."

Let me tell you what happened.

He started out,

it became famous as his shuffle,

he used to get along
like this, shuffling along.

And what the
great athletes would do,

they would run for 18
hours, can you believe this?

And then they
would rest for six hours.

Then they would start
again, nobody told Cliff.

So he ran 18 hours and
he ran through the night.

Australia a few months ago,

summer time is quite hot.

It's about 90 degrees.

And I was staying at a
place overlooking the ocean

in North New South Wales,

at a beautiful little
place called Terranora,

and late in the day,

I went out and I stood on
the verandah, my verandah,

and looked out over the ocean

and there was a
tremendous storm.

The house was actually
shaking with the thunder,

the lightning was flashing,
about ten miles to the north,

there's an airport
called Coolangatta.

And a jet plane had
just taken off and I thought,

He's taking off in this storm."

And so I stood
there somewhat transfixed

at the sight of this jet plane

flying right into
this tremendous storm

and then I saw it,

a little chink in the
clouds, like a man's hand.

And the jet plane went

right through the
little window of opportunity

and I could see through
the chink in the clouds.

I could see through the window
and I could see the blue sky

unless God is in
the very midst of it.

to the prophet Daniel,

from the city of Babylon.

And he wrote this
about 2,500 years ago.

Daniel 2:1,
00:06:18.21\00:06:22.64
so glad that you
folks are with us today.

"Now in the second year
of Nebuchadnezzar's reign,
00:06:26.31\00:06:29.82
Nebuchadnezzar had dreams,
00:06:29.85\00:06:32.49
and his spirit was so troubled
that his sleep left him."
00:06:32.52\00:06:37.93
Nebuchadnezzar was a young man.
00:06:37.96\00:06:41.40
The most
powerful man in the world
00:06:41.43\00:06:45.20
was Nebuchadnezzar.
00:06:45.23\00:06:47.80
But can I tell you something?

He couldn't sleep,

because power is not enough

to give you a
good night's sleep.

America today is finding it

very difficult to sleep,

because peace is not tied up

with money, and banks,

financial prosperity.

This young guy had more
money than we could bring.

And so we're
gonna talk today also

about the way to peace

because there is a way to peace.

notice Daniel 2:2-6.

"Then the king gave the
command to call the magicians,

the astrologers, the sorcerers,

and the Chaldeans to
tell the king his dreams."

So he has this dream.

"So they came and
stood before the king.

And the king said to them,

'I have had a dream,

and my spirit is anxious,
troubled, to know the dream.'

Then the Chaldeans
spoke to the king in Aramaic,

'O king, live forever!

Tell your servants the dream,

the interpretation.'

The king answered and
said to the Chaldeans,

'My decision is firm,

known the dream to me,

gifts, rewards, and great honor.

This is a great meeting
that we're having here today

for a skeptic and an atheist.

Because 2,500 years
ago, this young man,

probably about in his
early 20s had a dream.
00:08:51.03\00:08:57.33
We're going to
see today this dream,
00:08:57.37\00:09:01.00
you don't have to
believe this at this stage,
00:09:01.04\00:09:03.51
this dream foretold
the history of civilization
00:09:03.54\00:09:08.78
and it tells us about the day

when America is
going to be great again.

And the world is
going to be great again,

your wonderful future.

He was terribly intolerant,

of course,
because he was a pagan.

In Babylon,
there was no democracy

and there was no freedom.

aware of the statement

who said that, "Democracy,"

why we have democracy?

Democracy is the fruitage
of the teachings of Christ.

The Bible teaches freedom.

People say,

"But you don't have
freedom to be wrong."

Yes, you do.

You have freedom to
make the wrong choice,

that's what freedom is.

You've got freedom to choose.

But in old Babylon,
there was no democracy

Look at Daniel
2:7-13, dear hearts.

"The king answered...

They answered again and said,

'Let the king tell
his servants the dream,

and we will give
its interpretation.'

The king answered and said,

'I know for certain
that you would gain time,

because you see
that my decision is firm.

If you do not make
known the dream to me,

things of any magician,

astrologer, or Chaldean.

It is a difficult
thing that the king requests,

and there is no other

who can tell it to
the king except the gods,

whose dwelling

That's the teaching of paganism,

correctness tells us in America

Now we believe in
freedom of all religions.

king the interpretation.

house, and made the decision

and Azariah, his companions,

that they might seek
mercies from the God of heaven

concerning this secret,

so that Daniel

might not perish

with the rest of the
wise men of Babylon."

person sitting here tonight
