one of the most well-known

nations in the
world, so I want to give you

just a quick little background.

come back from Africa?"

Because there is a
nation called Guinea

on the west coast of
Africa, but we didn't go there.

Instead we went to Australia
and then north to Australia.

And as you can see, Cape York

It's very close
to Papua New Guinea,

independence back in 1975.

to 2012. What did I see?

Well, from my vantage
point as manager on the stage,

I saw the thousands
and thousands of people

coming in night by
night filling up the stadium.

Now where did they come from?

Well, most of them came
from Port Moresby itself,

of course, and
the surrounding area,

but thousands
came from other places.

Now the middle of PNG is very
mountainous with lush jungle.

And the highest mountain
there is nearly 15,000 feet.

And there are no
significant cross country roads

to come down to the
capital Port Moresby.

So how did they get there?

Here along the
coast you will see

that they came down by boat.

Some came by planes,
those that had airports.

People came from Goroka,
Mount Hagen, Madang, Wewak,

came from New Ireland over here.

And then Bougainville

So they came from all over.

And the amazing thing
was that they stopped,

for the whole two weeks.

Now what did I see?

I saw a wonderful desire to hear
God's word, a determination.

Now on the third
night, Pastor John Kosmeier,

Missionary that worked in PNG,

invited me to go
through the crowd

after the meeting had started.

Now the lights were dim

because of the
pictures on the screen.

And we had to pick our
way up through the crowd.

Now perhaps I should
just back up a little.

The bleaches around the
stadium, they were packed.

So the majority of the people
were sitting on the ground

in the arena itself
on blankets and mats.

And the ushers had
tried to keep path--

pass through the
arena, but it was impossible.

But we did pick our
way up through the crowd

trying not to step on
people or to trip over people.

And that was so
gracious to let us through.

We had a policemen accompany us.

And we walked to the back

down the other
side, but then when we got

to the back, we discovered that

Now I've seen many crowds

Once again, thousands of people

to hear God's word.

people we interviewed

teachings for the first time.

feelings could be summed up

It's helped me to meet
Jesus for the first time

and it's helping me to deal with

some of the hard
things I'm facing."

What did I see on the
last Sabbath morning there?

I saw a tremendous baptism with
nearly 3,000 souls baptized.

And I also saw once again

the great truth of
Hebrews 4 that says,

and it's powerful enough

campaign and his sister.

had one big complaint,

You know why? They were
being fed and they love God.

and these people watch

They are the saints of God.

It was in this place
that they had after 8 years,

have gone with me to the place

the first baptism.

to win one person

up there were cannibals.

And I think of how they took
with them a young missionary,

young man from Fiji.

And the chief up

he said, "whatever you

And many, many
years later we buried,

we went and dug up his remains
and we buried him in this spot.

And we told the
people from Fiji to come.

This is an interesting story.

We were met by these
people as they used to be.

But something
quite unusual happened.
