the story of a young man.

This young man lived in England.

Just on the
eastern side of that,

there is a little town

and it's called Brentwood.

And you say well,
what's special about Brentwood?

Well in France the main
street was called la grand-rue.

If you go to
England most small towns

the main street is high street.

Usually the ground
drops away from it.

And high street is
the place in Brentwood

and there is an obelisk.

And it has the
name of a young man

who was still in his late teens.

His name William Hunter.

Well, you say, why
would a town raise a monument

to a young man who died,
was martyred in his teens,
00:46:48.22\00:46:53.28
a man who loved the Bible.

Let me tell you a
bit about William Hunter.

He was raised and
educated to believe
00:46:59.08\00:47:03.09
and love this book.

He believed in the principles,
enunciated by the reformation,

that it was only in
Jesus Christ that we are saved.

Not by works what we have done.

He believed that.
And he read his Bible.

And in fact, that was
not considered only proper,

it was outlawed.

You don't read this book.

Only the priests then
could interpret the book.

But he loved the
book and he would read it.

And so someone sees him
reading and he is arrested.

He is taken down to London.

He was arrested

He is pronounced incorrigible.

heavy as he can possibly bear

without having to lie
on the floor all the time.

He's put in the stocks

and he's given a

and a cup of water in two

Finally the bishop says,
