Music... 00:00:01.70\00:01:04.16 Pause... 00:01:04.19\00:01:12.77 Shall we bow our heads for prayer? 00:01:12.80\00:01:14.14 "Our loving Father, 00:01:14.17\00:01:16.87 we thank You so much for Your Word 00:01:16.91\00:01:23.48 which is a sure guide in a world of confusion and rebellion. 00:01:23.51\00:01:28.05 We ask for the guidance of Your Holy Spirit 00:01:28.08\00:01:31.32 as we study that great prophecy of Revelation 12, 00:01:31.35\00:01:35.76 we ask that You will teach us and give us understanding 00:01:35.79\00:01:40.03 that we might be willing to follow Your will, 00:01:40.06\00:01:43.10 we thank You Lord for hearing our prayer 00:01:43.13\00:01:46.43 for we ask it in Jesus' name, amen. " 00:01:46.47\00:01:49.74 We want to begin our study today 00:01:49.77\00:01:53.34 by reviewing what we studied in our last lecture. 00:01:53.38\00:01:57.45 If you remember, we studied the prophecy of Daniel chapter 2. 00:01:57.48\00:02:02.62 You remember that King Nebuchadnezzar had this dream 00:02:02.65\00:02:06.55 and in the dream he saw a gigantic image. 00:02:06.59\00:02:10.66 The head of the image was of gold, 00:02:10.69\00:02:13.46 the breast and the arms were of silver, 00:02:13.50\00:02:17.73 the belly was of bronze, 00:02:17.77\00:02:19.57 the legs were of iron 00:02:19.63\00:02:21.54 and the feet were of iron and clay 00:02:21.57\00:02:24.51 and then Nebuchadnezzar saw a gigantic stone 00:02:24.57\00:02:29.81 come from heaven and smite the image on its feet 00:02:29.84\00:02:35.05 and broke the image into smithereens 00:02:35.08\00:02:39.09 and then that stone became a mountain 00:02:39.12\00:02:43.12 which filled the whole earth. 00:02:43.16\00:02:45.19 Now, I'm going to review the sequence of nations 00:02:45.23\00:02:49.36 which are mentioned in Daniel chapter 2. 00:02:49.40\00:02:51.73 The head of gold represents the kingdom of Babylon 00:02:51.77\00:02:55.90 which governed from the year 605 till the year 539 B.C. 00:02:55.94\00:03:01.34 The breast and arms of silver represents the kingdom 00:03:01.38\00:03:06.72 of Medo-Persia 00:03:06.75\00:03:08.18 which governed from 539 to 331 B.C. 00:03:08.22\00:03:12.85 The belly of bronze represents the kingdom of Greece 00:03:12.89\00:03:18.99 which ruled from the year 331 till the year 168 B.C. 00:03:19.03\00:03:24.27 The fourth kingdom of iron represented by the legs 00:03:24.33\00:03:29.54 represents the iron monarchy of Rome, 00:03:29.57\00:03:33.07 in other words, the Roman Empire 00:03:33.11\00:03:35.18 and, of course, the feet of iron and clay... ten toes... 00:03:35.21\00:03:40.25 represent the divisions of Western Europe 00:03:40.28\00:03:44.45 but you'll notice that the divisions of Western Europe 00:03:44.49\00:03:47.86 are a continuation of Rome 00:03:47.89\00:03:49.69 because the feet have iron just like the legs have iron... 00:03:49.72\00:03:54.06 but this is a different kind of Rome... 00:03:54.10\00:03:56.77 it is a continuation of Rome 00:03:56.80\00:03:59.33 because it's the same iron as the legs 00:03:59.37\00:04:01.50 but it is a different kind of Rome 00:04:01.54\00:04:03.67 because it is a mixed Rome 00:04:03.71\00:04:06.17 and we studied in our last lecture 00:04:06.21\00:04:08.38 that the clay represents the church. 00:04:08.41\00:04:10.51 In other words, after the Roman Empire was split up, 00:04:10.55\00:04:13.68 you had a period where Church and State were joined together 00:04:13.72\00:04:18.45 and actually, that condition lasts 00:04:18.49\00:04:20.82 until the second coming of Jesus Christ. 00:04:20.86\00:04:24.33 Now, the kingdom that we're especially going to focus on 00:04:24.36\00:04:28.40 on our study today 00:04:28.43\00:04:29.76 is the fourth kingdom of Daniel chapter 2. 00:04:29.80\00:04:33.77 We're going to be quite a bit of time 00:04:33.80\00:04:37.87 in the image... the portion that has to do with the legs of iron. 00:04:37.94\00:04:43.85 Now, we need to look at some background 00:04:43.88\00:04:46.98 before we actually get into the study 00:04:47.02\00:04:50.09 of Revelation chapter 12. 00:04:50.12\00:04:51.79 Go with me, once again, to Genesis chapter 3 and verse 15, 00:04:51.82\00:04:56.62 that verse which has guided us in the study in this Seminar. 00:04:56.66\00:05:01.46 Genesis chapter 3 and verse 15... 00:05:01.50\00:05:05.23 very well-known verse, 00:05:05.27\00:05:07.44 God is speaking to the serpent and He says, 00:05:07.50\00:05:10.37 "And I will put enmity between you and the woman 00:05:10.41\00:05:14.74 and between your seed and her seed; 00:05:14.78\00:05:17.91 He... " that is the seed of the woman 00:05:17.95\00:05:21.05 "shall bruise your... " that is the serpent's head 00:05:21.08\00:05:24.12 and you shall bruise His heel. " 00:05:24.15\00:05:27.36 Four key elements in this verse. 00:05:27.42\00:05:30.59 Number 1: Enmity... 00:05:30.63\00:05:33.13 Number 2: A serpent... 00:05:33.16\00:05:35.50 Number 3: A woman... 00:05:35.53\00:05:38.17 and Number 4: Seed... 00:05:38.23\00:05:40.80 now, we're going to find that this verse 00:05:40.84\00:05:43.44 is in the background of Revelation chapter 12. 00:05:43.47\00:05:46.94 I want you to notice that in Genesis 3:15, 00:05:46.98\00:05:50.38 though there is warfare between the woman and the serpent, 00:05:50.41\00:05:54.32 the real warfare is between the seed of the woman 00:05:54.35\00:05:58.39 and the serpent 00:05:58.45\00:05:59.79 because the last part of the verse says, 00:05:59.82\00:06:01.62 He... the seed of the woman will bruise your head... 00:06:01.66\00:06:05.56 that is the head of the serpent 00:06:05.59\00:06:06.93 and the serpent will bruise His heel. 00:06:06.96\00:06:09.30 The war is between the seed of the woman 00:06:09.33\00:06:11.93 and the serpent 00:06:11.97\00:06:13.30 even though there is also warfare between the serpent 00:06:13.34\00:06:16.60 and the woman. 00:06:16.64\00:06:18.31 Now, we've also studied in our Seminar 00:06:18.34\00:06:21.24 that the devil tried to keep Jesus from coming 00:06:21.31\00:06:24.78 all throughout the Old Testament. 00:06:24.81\00:06:26.61 We had a whole lecture on all of the episodes 00:06:26.65\00:06:29.72 of the Old Testament which illustrate 00:06:29.75\00:06:31.65 how Satan tried to keep the seed from coming. 00:06:31.69\00:06:34.89 He did it by trying to kill the seed 00:06:34.92\00:06:37.69 and then he also did it by trying to corrupt the holy line 00:06:37.76\00:06:43.16 from which the seed would come 00:06:43.20\00:06:45.17 but folks, the devil was not able to interrupt 00:06:45.23\00:06:50.07 the plans of God. 00:06:50.11\00:06:52.01 In the fullness of time, Jesus came to this world 00:06:52.04\00:06:57.55 exactly the way God had prophesied 00:06:57.58\00:07:00.48 in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 15. 00:07:00.52\00:07:03.35 Now, there's one more thing that I want to notice 00:07:03.39\00:07:06.72 by means of introduction 00:07:06.76\00:07:08.32 before we get into a specific study of Revelation 12 00:07:08.39\00:07:12.19 and that is... that this chapter has three distinct stages, 00:07:12.26\00:07:18.17 the first stage is found in Revelation 12 00:07:18.20\00:07:22.37 and verses 1 through 5 00:07:22.40\00:07:25.17 and that is the stage where the dragon tries to kill 00:07:25.21\00:07:30.25 the seed of the woman. 00:07:30.28\00:07:32.08 By the way, that's clearly a reference to Genesis 3:15... 00:07:32.11\00:07:36.79 the dragon trying to kill the seed that is born of the woman, 00:07:36.82\00:07:41.46 that's the first stage. 00:07:41.49\00:07:42.82 The second stage is found in Revelation 12 and verse 6 00:07:42.86\00:07:47.33 and also verses 13 through 15. 00:07:47.36\00:07:50.57 In this stage, the child has already escaped 00:07:50.63\00:07:55.00 the grasp of the serpent 00:07:55.04\00:07:56.50 or the grasp of the dragon 00:07:56.57\00:07:58.01 and so, the dragon now goes after the woman 00:07:58.04\00:08:01.21 and the woman flees to the wilderness 00:08:01.24\00:08:03.91 where she has her place prepared for 1,260 days or years. 00:08:03.95\00:08:10.22 The third stage in this chapter is the final warfare 00:08:10.25\00:08:15.09 of the dragon against the seed of the seed... 00:08:15.12\00:08:18.69 the remnant of her seed 00:08:18.76\00:08:21.16 as it says in Revelation 12 and verse 17 00:08:21.20\00:08:24.50 and so, we find three distinct stages 00:08:24.53\00:08:27.77 of warfare in Revelation chapter 12. 00:08:27.80\00:08:31.77 First... the devil against the seed... 00:08:31.81\00:08:35.68 secondly... the devil on a serpent against the woman. 00:08:35.71\00:08:39.61 Third... the warfare of Satan 00:08:39.65\00:08:42.85 against the remnant of the woman's seed 00:08:42.88\00:08:45.95 and of course, the woman's seed is Jesus... 00:08:45.99\00:08:48.19 so the remnant of the woman's seed 00:08:48.22\00:08:50.36 would be the remnant of Jesus... 00:08:50.39\00:08:52.39 three distinct stages... I want you to remember these stages 00:08:52.43\00:08:56.20 because we're going to come back to them later on. 00:08:56.23\00:08:59.00 What I want you to notice 00:08:59.03\00:09:00.64 is that in all of these three stages, 00:09:00.67\00:09:04.57 it is the serpent or the dragon who is the... the perpetrator 00:09:04.61\00:09:10.25 of the events that are taking place. 00:09:10.28\00:09:12.18 Now, he uses human instruments 00:09:12.21\00:09:14.22 but really, he is the force behind... 00:09:14.25\00:09:17.29 he is the one who tries to kill the child... 00:09:17.32\00:09:19.55 he is the one who persecutes the woman 00:09:19.59\00:09:21.82 and he is the one who launches the final onslaught of warfare 00:09:21.86\00:09:27.00 against the remnant of the woman's seed. 00:09:27.03\00:09:29.50 Now we want to examine another Old Testament story 00:09:29.53\00:09:33.84 which forms the backdrop 00:09:33.87\00:09:35.94 specifically to the prophecy of Revelation chapter 12. 00:09:35.97\00:09:40.28 I'm referring to the story 00:09:40.31\00:09:43.11 of the exodus of Israel from Egypt. 00:09:43.14\00:09:46.08 Now you say, what possible relationship could there be 00:09:46.11\00:09:49.85 between Revelation chapter 12 00:09:49.88\00:09:52.82 and the exodus of Israel from Egypt. 00:09:52.85\00:09:55.22 Well, I believe that as we move along 00:09:55.26\00:09:58.33 in studying the exodus of Israel, 00:09:58.36\00:10:01.50 we're going to begin to see some interesting parallels 00:10:01.53\00:10:05.13 to Revelation chapter 12. 00:10:05.17\00:10:06.50 Now, time does not allow us to read all of the verses 00:10:06.53\00:10:12.01 which describe the exodus of Israel from Egypt. 00:10:12.04\00:10:15.14 In the handout that you will receive after the lecture today, 00:10:15.18\00:10:20.02 you have all of the Scripture references 00:10:20.05\00:10:22.92 with explanations about all that I'm going to share. 00:10:22.95\00:10:25.95 For now, what I want is for you to catch the picture 00:10:25.99\00:10:29.89 or the idea of what happened at the exodus 00:10:29.92\00:10:33.70 so that when we go to Revelation chapter 12, 00:10:33.73\00:10:37.17 you are able to see this backdrop. 00:10:37.20\00:10:39.17 Now, Exodus chapter 1... I'm going to mention the verses, 00:10:39.20\00:10:43.07 Exodus chapter 1 verses 13 and 14, 00:10:43.10\00:10:45.94 explains that Israel was in cruel and despotic bondage. 00:10:45.97\00:10:53.35 They had no way of escaping themselves... 00:10:53.38\00:10:56.79 they were slaves... 00:10:56.82\00:10:58.55 they had to serve Pharaoh day after day after day. 00:10:58.59\00:11:02.99 In fact, there in Exodus 1:13 and 14, 00:11:03.02\00:11:05.99 it uses the word "bitter" to describe their bondage 00:11:06.03\00:11:10.07 and so, in Exodus chapter 2 and verse 23 and 25, 00:11:10.10\00:11:13.90 we find that the people are moaning and groaning 00:11:13.94\00:11:18.14 and crying out 00:11:18.17\00:11:20.11 because they want a deliverer to be born 00:11:20.14\00:11:23.28 to lead them out from bondage 00:11:23.31\00:11:26.48 because they know that they cannot deliver themselves 00:11:26.51\00:11:29.28 because they are slaves 00:11:29.32\00:11:30.65 and it's interesting to notice in that passage, 00:11:30.69\00:11:33.25 in Exodus 2:23 to 25 00:11:33.29\00:11:35.02 that they... they're crying out... 00:11:35.06\00:11:37.49 I want you to remember that word, 00:11:37.53\00:11:39.33 they're crying out... they're groaning 00:11:39.36\00:11:41.16 because they want someone to deliver them from bondage. 00:11:41.20\00:11:44.67 Well, it just so happens that a deliverer was born in Egypt. 00:11:44.70\00:11:51.01 He was born of a woman... I want you to remember that... 00:11:51.04\00:11:54.74 the name of the woman was Jochebed... his mother 00:11:54.78\00:11:59.08 and so we find here a child... a man-child 00:11:59.11\00:12:04.19 who is going to be born of a woman 00:12:04.22\00:12:07.39 and he is going to be the deliverer of Israel from bondage 00:12:07.42\00:12:12.99 when they are crying out to God for deliverance 00:12:13.03\00:12:16.46 but there was one who did not want this child to survive, 00:12:16.50\00:12:22.00 he felt threatened by his existence 00:12:22.04\00:12:24.97 or by his potential existence, 00:12:25.01\00:12:27.24 and, of course, the name of that individual was Pharaoh. 00:12:27.28\00:12:31.81 Now, do you know that in the book of Ezekiel 00:12:31.85\00:12:35.38 chapter 29 and verse 3, Pharaoh... 00:12:35.42\00:12:39.69 and by the way, this is in the King James Version... 00:12:39.72\00:12:42.22 Pharaoh is called "the great dragon" 00:12:42.26\00:12:46.80 I want you to remember that, 00:12:46.83\00:12:48.46 Pharaoh is called the great dragon... 00:12:48.50\00:12:50.13 the New King James says, "the great monster. " 00:12:50.17\00:12:53.27 You know, if you read the Greek translation of the Old Testament 00:12:53.30\00:12:56.71 you'll find that the word there is the word "Drakon" 00:12:56.74\00:13:00.41 and so, we're dealing not with a monster as such, 00:13:00.44\00:13:05.25 we are dealing with a dragon. 00:13:05.28\00:13:07.02 So, Pharaoh is called "The Great Dragon" 00:13:07.05\00:13:10.82 and the Bible says that Pharaoh stands next to the woman, 00:13:10.85\00:13:15.79 so to speak... to devour this Child... 00:13:15.82\00:13:19.23 this Deliverer as soon as He is born. 00:13:19.26\00:13:23.53 Have you read this story? 00:13:23.57\00:13:26.43 Are you starting to catch an interesting picture here? 00:13:26.47\00:13:29.90 This is really the backdrop of Revelation chapter 12. 00:13:29.94\00:13:33.91 Now, it's interesting to notice how Pharaoh 00:13:33.94\00:13:38.65 tried to get rid of the Deliverer. 00:13:38.68\00:13:41.42 In Exodus chapter 1 and verse 22, 00:13:41.45\00:13:44.89 it says that Pharaoh had all of the male children 00:13:44.92\00:13:50.26 thrown into the Nile River. 00:13:50.29\00:13:54.10 In other words, he had all of the male children killed 00:13:54.13\00:13:58.03 in the hopes of also killing the Deliverer. 00:13:58.07\00:14:02.37 Now, I must make a parenthesis here 00:14:02.40\00:14:05.01 and explain to you that the devil had a greater agenda here 00:14:05.04\00:14:09.61 than just slaying Moses. 00:14:09.64\00:14:13.35 Did you know that approximately 400 years before this, 00:14:13.38\00:14:18.65 God had given a prophecy to Abraham? 00:14:18.69\00:14:21.59 It's found in Genesis chapter 15 and verses 13 through 15 00:14:21.62\00:14:25.93 and in that prophecy God had told Abraham 00:14:25.96\00:14:29.96 that the children of Israel were going to be sojourners 00:14:30.00\00:14:33.54 in the land of Egypt for 400 years 00:14:33.60\00:14:38.37 but that after the 400 years 00:14:38.41\00:14:40.91 God was going to deliver them from Egypt 00:14:40.94\00:14:43.98 and He was going to take them to Canaan. 00:14:44.01\00:14:48.35 Do you think the devil carefully calculated 00:14:48.38\00:14:52.65 when the 400 years began and when the 400 years ended? 00:14:52.69\00:14:57.53 Of course he did. 00:14:57.56\00:14:59.06 The devil did not want Israel to be delivered from bondage 00:14:59.09\00:15:03.40 because he knew that if Israel went to Canaan, 00:15:03.43\00:15:06.40 in Canaan... the Messiah would be born 00:15:06.43\00:15:09.70 and so he says, "I'm going to nip this in the bud... 00:15:09.74\00:15:12.51 I am going to kill the Deliverer 00:15:12.54\00:15:14.48 so that Israel cannot leave Egypt 00:15:14.54\00:15:16.44 and cannot enter Canaan 00:15:16.48\00:15:18.05 and that way, the Deliverer will not be born" 00:15:18.08\00:15:20.52 and Folks, it is no coincidence 00:15:20.55\00:15:22.32 that the Canaanites fought tooth and nail for the promised land. 00:15:22.35\00:15:28.02 This was not only their attitude... 00:15:28.06\00:15:30.99 it was Satan inspiring them 00:15:31.03\00:15:33.53 to resist Israel entering the Promised Land 00:15:33.56\00:15:36.67 because the devil knew that in that place, 00:15:36.73\00:15:39.80 the Messiah was going to be born 00:15:39.83\00:15:41.70 and he knew it because God had taken Abraham 00:15:41.74\00:15:44.67 out of Ur of the Chaldees and He took him to Haran 00:15:44.71\00:15:47.84 and then He took him to the Promised Land 00:15:47.88\00:15:49.91 and so, the devil says, 00:15:49.94\00:15:51.28 "I cannot allow a Deliverer to exist... 00:15:51.31\00:15:55.18 I must kill Him... I must nip this in the bud 00:15:55.22\00:15:58.02 and that way, Israel will remain in bondage. " 00:15:58.05\00:16:02.39 But it's interesting that Moses was preserved in Egypt, 00:16:02.42\00:16:08.36 his life was spared... 00:16:08.40\00:16:10.63 He was protected in the land of Egypt 00:16:10.67\00:16:13.57 and of course, we're told in Exodus 00:16:13.64\00:16:16.50 that he became the great deliverer 00:16:16.54\00:16:18.71 of the children of Israel. 00:16:18.74\00:16:20.64 In fact, the night that Israel was delivered, 00:16:20.68\00:16:24.65 I want you to notice... this is very interesting... 00:16:24.68\00:16:26.61 the night that Israel was delivered, 00:16:26.65\00:16:28.38 God told them as a sign of their deliverance 00:16:28.42\00:16:33.12 to sacrifice a lamb without blemish. 00:16:33.15\00:16:36.76 In other words, the sign of their deliverance 00:16:36.79\00:16:39.73 was the death of a perfect lamb 00:16:39.76\00:16:42.60 and when they sacrificed that lamb, 00:16:42.63\00:16:44.87 they were delivered from bondage to the literal Egyptians. 00:16:44.90\00:16:49.67 Now, there's much more that we need to say. 00:16:49.70\00:16:53.61 Before Israel entered the Promised Land, 00:16:53.64\00:16:57.41 Moses the deliverer died on the borders of Canaan. 00:16:57.45\00:17:03.08 The story of his death is found in Deuteronomy chapter 34 00:17:03.12\00:17:09.19 and I'm not going to go there, 00:17:09.22\00:17:10.56 I just want to mention the verses, 00:17:10.59\00:17:12.16 Deuteronomy 34:5 and 6, 00:17:12.19\00:17:13.96 there are two strange things about the death of Moses. 00:17:14.00\00:17:17.73 Number one, we are told in Deuteronomy 34 00:17:17.77\00:17:21.67 that God buried Moses 00:17:21.70\00:17:24.31 that He's the only person in the Bible that God ever buried. 00:17:24.34\00:17:27.14 We don't know of anyone else who God buried... 00:17:27.18\00:17:29.71 not even Jesus... 00:17:29.74\00:17:31.25 Jesus wasn't buried by His Father 00:17:31.28\00:17:33.68 but Moses was buried by God 00:17:33.72\00:17:36.38 and another interesting detail which is very strange 00:17:36.42\00:17:39.05 is the fact that it says there in Deuteronomy 34 00:17:39.09\00:17:42.56 that no one knew where his tomb was till that day. 00:17:42.59\00:17:47.63 Very unusual... 00:17:47.66\00:17:49.00 because the Jews marked the tombs of their heroes. 00:17:49.03\00:17:52.10 They knew exactly where Abraham was buried 00:17:52.13\00:17:55.54 in the Cave of Machpelah... 00:17:55.57\00:17:56.91 they knew where David was buried in Jerusalem 00:17:56.94\00:18:00.24 and also, probably where Daniel the prophet was buried 00:18:00.28\00:18:03.14 because an inscription has been found that says, 00:18:03.18\00:18:05.35 "Here lies Daniel the prophet" recently... 00:18:05.38\00:18:08.12 his... his body wasn't found but he inscription says 00:18:08.15\00:18:10.79 that Daniel was buried there. 00:18:10.82\00:18:12.15 The Jews marked the tombs of their heroes 00:18:12.19\00:18:15.02 but with Moses... God buried him 00:18:15.06\00:18:17.39 and nobody knew where his tomb was. 00:18:17.43\00:18:19.89 Do you know what happened when Moses died 00:18:19.93\00:18:23.20 according to Scripture? 00:18:23.23\00:18:24.57 He died... he was buried... 00:18:24.60\00:18:28.14 and when he was buried, we are told in the book of Jude 00:18:28.17\00:18:33.74 verse 9... 00:18:33.78\00:18:35.54 I only mention the verse because Jude only has one chapter, 00:18:35.58\00:18:38.78 Jude verse 9... 00:18:38.81\00:18:40.32 that there was a battle at the grave site of Moses. 00:18:40.35\00:18:44.59 It says there that Michael the Archangel 00:18:44.62\00:18:48.82 fought with Satan over the body of Moses. 00:18:48.86\00:18:55.10 Now, do you think that they were fighting for a dead corpse? 00:18:55.13\00:18:58.97 Do you think that every time a person dies, 00:18:59.00\00:19:02.00 Michael the Archangel and the devil fight over a dead body? 00:19:02.04\00:19:06.84 Obviously not. 00:19:06.88\00:19:08.24 By the way, that individual, Michael the Archangel 00:19:08.28\00:19:12.91 was none less than Jesus Christ Himself. 00:19:12.95\00:19:16.12 Now, let me explain that the Bible does not teach 00:19:16.15\00:19:19.75 that Michael the Archangel was the first creature of God 00:19:19.79\00:19:23.39 like some churches teach... 00:19:23.43\00:19:24.76 we believe that Michael the Archangel is Christ 00:19:24.79\00:19:28.86 but Christ is everlasting God... 00:19:28.90\00:19:31.80 He never had a beginning. 00:19:31.83\00:19:33.44 He is the great Angel of the Resurrection... 00:19:33.47\00:19:37.07 the great Messenger of the resurrection. 00:19:37.11\00:19:39.17 That's the reason why in 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 00:19:39.21\00:19:42.14 we're told that the Lord will descend with a shout... 00:19:42.18\00:19:44.85 the Lord Himself will descend with a shout... 00:19:44.88\00:19:47.58 with the voice of the Archangel and with the trumpet of God. 00:19:47.62\00:19:51.15 Notice that the Lord Himself 00:19:51.19\00:19:52.89 utters the voice of the Archangel 00:19:52.92\00:19:54.66 and so, there was this battle over the body of Moses 00:19:54.69\00:19:57.93 and actually Michael had come to resurrect Moses. 00:19:57.96\00:20:03.67 You say, "Now, how do you know that?" 00:20:03.70\00:20:05.43 Well, it's very, very simple. 00:20:05.47\00:20:07.94 In Matthew chapter 17 and verse 3, 00:20:07.97\00:20:11.31 we find the episode where Jesus was transfigured 00:20:11.34\00:20:15.81 on the Mount of Transfiguration 00:20:15.84\00:20:18.05 and we are told there as Jesus was being transfigured, 00:20:18.08\00:20:22.52 in other words, He was glorified there 00:20:22.55\00:20:25.55 and it says that His garment shone like the sun. 00:20:25.59\00:20:28.22 We're told that two individuals were sent to speak with Him. 00:20:28.26\00:20:32.59 One of them, of course, was Elijah 00:20:32.63\00:20:35.10 who was translated to heaven from among the living. 00:20:35.13\00:20:37.70 The other was Moses. 00:20:37.73\00:20:39.90 Now, what was Moses doing there 1,400 years after his death? 00:20:39.93\00:20:45.87 It must be that he resurrected 00:20:45.91\00:20:48.54 because if he didn't resurrect, 00:20:48.58\00:20:50.68 he could not have come to speak to Jesus. 00:20:50.71\00:20:53.68 In other words, Moses died... 00:20:53.72\00:20:56.99 once he had delivered Israel from Egypt... he died... 00:20:57.02\00:21:00.52 he was buried... 00:21:00.56\00:21:01.99 he resurrected and he ascended to heaven. 00:21:02.02\00:21:06.36 Now, let's summarize what we've studied about Moses. 00:21:06.39\00:21:11.17 Moses delivered literal Israel from literal bondage 00:21:11.20\00:21:15.94 in literal Egypt... 00:21:15.97\00:21:18.07 took them across a literal desert 00:21:18.14\00:21:20.44 to a literal land of Canaan. 00:21:20.48\00:21:22.81 They sacrificed a literal lamb. 00:21:22.84\00:21:25.08 Moses brought literal water from a literal rock 00:21:25.11\00:21:28.95 and literal bread from heaven. 00:21:28.98\00:21:30.95 A literal serpent was raised up in the literal desert 00:21:30.99\00:21:34.59 to prevent literal death from literal poisoning. 00:21:34.62\00:21:37.96 In other words, what happened in the Old Testament 00:21:37.99\00:21:41.30 was literal and local 00:21:41.33\00:21:43.00 but it symbolized future events 00:21:43.03\00:21:45.97 which would be spiritual and global. 00:21:46.00\00:21:49.20 In other words, we have in this episode of Moses 00:21:49.24\00:21:52.94 a prophecy of a far greater event 00:21:52.97\00:21:56.44 which was going to take place in the future 00:21:56.48\00:21:59.51 and which was foreshadowed by this experience 00:21:59.55\00:22:02.55 of Israel leaving the land of Egypt. 00:22:02.58\00:22:06.55 Are you clear on what we've spoken about so far? 00:22:06.62\00:22:10.33 You have the backdrop of Daniel 2, 00:22:10.36\00:22:14.40 don't forget that... the fourth kingdom of Daniel 2, 00:22:14.43\00:22:17.67 that's the key right now... 00:22:17.70\00:22:19.30 Rome... the Empire of Rome... the iron monarchy of Rome 00:22:19.33\00:22:24.34 that's the backdrop of which kingdom from the Old Testament? 00:22:24.37\00:22:27.98 The fourth kingdom of Daniel 2. 00:22:28.01\00:22:29.41 We have the backdrop of Genesis 3:15. 00:22:29.44\00:22:32.51 Let me ask you, "Do you have the same elements 00:22:32.55\00:22:34.88 in of the story of Moses that you have in Genesis 3:15? 00:22:34.92\00:22:37.59 Do you have enmity? 00:22:37.62\00:22:38.95 Yes you do. 00:22:38.99\00:22:40.32 Do you have a woman? 00:22:40.36\00:22:41.69 Yes... " 00:29:00.87\00:29:02.84 Now notice this... 00:29:02.87\00:29:04.87 "My covenant which they broke, though I was a... " what? 00:29:04.91\00:29:10.35 "though I was a husband to them... " 00:29:10.38\00:29:13.58 so, who is the husband of this woman? 00:29:13.62\00:29:16.72 The husband of this woman is God. 00:29:16.75\00:29:19.79 Who implanted Jesus in the womb of Mary? 00:29:19.82\00:29:23.86 God the Father did. 00:29:23.89\00:29:26.53 Are you with me or are you not with me? 00:29:26.56\00:29:29.26 In other words, the woman here represents 00:29:29.30\00:29:31.93 the Old Testament church culminating with Mary 00:29:31.97\00:29:35.57 who was a member of that church... so to speak. 00:29:35.60\00:29:39.21 By the way, in Jeremiah 6 and verse 2, 00:29:39.24\00:29:41.91 Israel is compared to a beautiful and delicate woman. 00:29:41.94\00:29:46.31 In other words, when you find in prophecy a woman, 00:29:46.35\00:29:50.72 it represents the church 00:29:50.75\00:29:52.85 and in the case of Revelation chapter 12, 00:29:52.89\00:29:55.46 this woman must represent God's church in the Old Testament 00:29:55.52\00:30:00.56 because when John sees the woman, 00:30:00.60\00:30:03.60 the child has not yet been born. 00:30:03.63\00:30:06.74 In other words, what John is seeing 00:30:06.77\00:30:09.80 is the Old Testament church moaning and groaning 00:30:09.84\00:30:14.28 and crying out in labor pains 00:30:14.31\00:30:16.85 because they want the Messiah to be born into the world 00:30:16.88\00:30:20.45 to deliver the human race from sin. 00:30:20.48\00:30:23.62 Now, you say, "How do you know 00:30:23.65\00:30:25.82 that is the Old Testament Church?" 00:30:25.85\00:30:27.76 Well, besides the fact that this... 00:30:27.79\00:30:29.66 that this woman has not had the child yet, 00:30:29.69\00:30:32.96 we have another clue that indicates 00:30:32.99\00:30:36.03 that this represents the Old Testament church. 00:30:36.06\00:30:38.07 Go with me to Genesis chapter 37 and verses 9 and 10, 00:30:38.10\00:30:43.27 Genesis 37 and verses 9 and 10. 00:30:43.30\00:30:47.48 It's speaking here about the sons of Jacob 00:30:47.51\00:30:50.95 and it's very interesting to notice a dream 00:30:50.98\00:30:54.35 that Joseph had. 00:30:54.38\00:30:55.95 Notice verse 9, 00:30:55.98\00:30:57.49 "Then he dreamed still another dream 00:30:57.52\00:31:00.06 and told it to his brothers, 00:31:00.09\00:31:01.92 and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. 00:31:01.96\00:31:06.09 And this time, the sun, moon, 00:31:06.13\00:31:09.26 and the eleven stars bowed down to me. " 00:31:09.30\00:31:14.17 What are the brothers of Joseph compared to? 00:31:14.20\00:31:19.04 They are compared to stars... 00:31:19.07\00:31:21.21 who would the twelfth star be? 00:31:21.24\00:31:23.38 It would be Joseph. 00:31:23.41\00:31:25.61 The sun would be Jacob... 00:31:25.65\00:31:29.08 and the moon would be his wife... 00:31:29.12\00:31:32.55 the 11 stars would be the brothers of Joseph 00:31:32.62\00:31:35.76 and the twelfth star would be Joseph. 00:31:35.79\00:31:37.99 So, what do the 12 stars represent? 00:31:38.03\00:31:41.20 They represent the sons of Jacob 00:31:41.23\00:31:44.37 which later became... what? 00:31:44.40\00:31:46.03 They became the tribes of Israel 00:31:46.07\00:31:48.80 which is God's Old Testament Church. 00:31:48.84\00:31:50.84 Are you following what I'm saying? 00:31:50.87\00:31:53.24 In fact, in Genesis 49 verse 28, 00:31:53.27\00:31:55.61 it says that the 12 sons of Jacob 00:31:55.64\00:31:58.58 became the 12 tribes of Israel. 00:31:58.61\00:32:01.48 Now, let me ask you, 00:32:01.52\00:32:03.42 "Were God's people in bondage 00:32:03.49\00:32:06.49 when Jesus was about to come to this world? 00:32:06.52\00:32:09.09 Yes, they were. 00:32:09.12\00:32:10.73 In bondage to what? 00:32:10.76\00:32:12.29 Are we talking literal bondage... 00:32:12.33\00:32:14.96 I mean, were they literally slaves of a slave master? 00:32:15.00\00:32:18.13 Absolutely not. 00:32:18.17\00:32:19.77 They were slaves to... what? 00:32:19.80\00:32:21.14 Slaves to sin. 00:32:21.17\00:32:22.90 Notice John chapter 8... 00:32:22.94\00:32:24.94 John chapter 8 and we'll read verse 34 to 36. 00:32:24.97\00:32:29.58 John 8:34 to 36. 00:32:29.61\00:32:32.35 Jesus is speaking to the Jews who were expecting the Messiah 00:32:32.41\00:32:35.98 and notice what he says in verse 34, 00:32:36.02\00:32:38.95 "Jesus answered them, 00:32:38.99\00:32:42.96 'Most assuredly, I say to you, 00:32:42.99\00:32:45.33 whoever commits sin is a... " 00:37:33.78\00:37:37.15 When he arose, he took the young Child 00:37:37.19\00:37:40.59 and His mother by night and departed for Egypt 00:37:40.62\00:37:42.92 and was there until the death of Herod, 00:37:42.96\00:37:46.26 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord 00:37:46.29\00:37:49.36 through the prophet, saying, 00:37:49.40\00:37:50.73 'Out of Egypt I called My Son. '" 00:37:50.77\00:37:53.40 Now, notice verse 16... 00:37:53.44\00:37:55.87 verse on screen... 00:37:55.90\00:38:17.73 Is he doing the same thing that Pharaoh did 00:38:17.76\00:38:21.00 in the Old Testament? 00:38:21.03\00:38:22.43 Yes, in the Old Testament, it was a figure 00:38:22.46\00:38:24.87 but in this case, it is the fulfillment of what we find 00:38:24.90\00:38:29.24 in the story of Moses. 00:38:29.27\00:38:30.94 Incidentally, do you know the devil tried to kill Jesus 00:38:30.97\00:38:36.31 on other occasions during His life? 00:38:36.34\00:38:38.01 He didn't only try to kill Jesus when Jesus was born. 00:38:38.05\00:38:41.48 Pause... 00:38:41.52\00:38:42.85 Do you remember, for example, 00:38:42.88\00:38:45.25 one time Jesus was preaching a sermon in Nazareth 00:38:45.29\00:38:47.36 and He said some very politically incorrect things? 00:38:47.39\00:38:49.39 The people shoved Him out of the synagogue 00:38:49.42\00:38:52.66 and they took Him to a precipice 00:38:52.69\00:38:54.20 and they wanted to throw Him over the precipice? 00:38:54.23\00:38:55.86 He disappeared from their midst... 00:38:55.90\00:38:58.17 He was actually... 00:38:58.20\00:38:59.53 He was actually covered by the angels 00:38:59.57\00:39:01.50 so that the people could not see Him. 00:39:01.54\00:39:02.87 Who do you suppose was behind that? 00:39:02.90\00:39:05.51 The devil. 00:39:05.54\00:39:07.81 You say, "Well, but if Jesus died, 00:39:07.84\00:39:09.48 He would save us from our sins. " 00:39:09.51\00:39:11.05 Listen, the only death that would count 00:39:11.11\00:39:13.18 would be if Jesus offered His life 00:39:13.21\00:39:15.48 not if the devil took His life 00:39:15.52\00:39:17.09 and the devil knew it, 00:39:17.12\00:39:19.09 so, he says, "If I am able to kill Him 00:39:19.12\00:39:21.12 before He gives His life, 00:39:21.16\00:39:22.62 I will be successful. " 00:39:22.66\00:39:25.63 Once the devil tried to drown Jesus in a storm. 00:39:25.66\00:39:28.76 He was sleeping in a boat. 00:39:28.80\00:39:30.60 See, we don't usually read these stories from this perspective. 00:39:30.63\00:39:33.40 We usually say that there was this bad storm, you know, 00:39:33.44\00:39:36.20 and Jesus calmed the storm. 00:39:36.24\00:39:37.61 Listen, the devil knew that Jesus was sleeping in that boat 00:39:37.64\00:39:40.38 and the devil wanted to drown Jesus 00:39:40.41\00:39:41.94 because it was not a time of storms... 00:39:41.98\00:39:43.81 because all of the fishing boats were on the lake in Galilee... 00:39:43.85\00:39:47.55 fishermen do not go out on to the lake 00:39:47.58\00:39:50.12 when it's stormy season... they simply don't 00:39:50.15\00:39:52.32 and so, this was a storm out of season. 00:39:52.35\00:39:54.86 On other occasions, 00:39:54.89\00:39:56.76 the devil had to... tried to have Jesus stoned... 00:39:56.79\00:39:59.66 on several occasions, people picked up stones to stone Jesus, 00:39:59.69\00:40:03.30 the devil was behind this 00:40:03.33\00:40:04.83 but all through the life of Jesus, 00:40:04.87\00:40:07.34 God the Father spared the life of Jesus. 00:40:07.37\00:40:10.64 The devil also tried to defeat Jesus 00:40:10.67\00:40:13.84 by infiltrating Him with sin. 00:40:13.88\00:40:16.75 Are you seeing the same two methods 00:40:16.78\00:40:19.45 that the devil used in the Old Testament? 00:40:19.48\00:40:21.05 Try and kill the seed... and try to corrupt the seed. 00:40:21.08\00:40:24.92 He did the same thing with Jesus. 00:40:24.95\00:40:27.56 He tried to kill Him repeatedly 00:40:27.59\00:40:29.92 and he tried to infect Jesus with the virus of sin 00:40:29.96\00:40:33.66 but every time that the devil tried to infect Jesus 00:40:33.70\00:40:36.90 with the virus of sin, 00:40:36.93\00:40:38.40 Jesus said, "It is written... " 00:40:38.43\00:40:41.30 and He resisted the temptations of Satan. 00:40:41.34\00:40:44.74 The devil also tried to get Jesus to retaliate. 00:40:44.77\00:40:49.71 You see, when Jesus is suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, 00:40:49.74\00:40:53.52 when He's sweating drops of blood... 00:40:53.58\00:40:55.28 when Jesus is being beaten in Pilate's court 00:40:55.32\00:40:59.85 and in Herod's court... 00:40:59.89\00:41:02.09 the devil is doing this 00:41:02.12\00:41:04.23 because he wants Jesus to do one of two things, 00:41:04.26\00:41:07.56 he wants Jesus to retaliate and thus to sin 00:41:07.60\00:41:10.87 to deliver Himself. 00:41:10.90\00:41:12.23 Or, secondly, he wants Jesus to give up and to leave 00:41:12.27\00:41:15.80 and go back to heaven without redeeming the human race. 00:41:15.84\00:41:19.77 He does not want Jesus to go to the cross and die. 00:41:19.81\00:41:23.75 He's causing these sufferings 00:41:23.78\00:41:26.31 because he wants to bother Jesus so much 00:41:26.35\00:41:30.25 that Jesus will retaliate or Jesus will leave 00:41:30.29\00:41:33.56 when He sees that His disciples have forsaken Him... 00:41:33.59\00:41:35.86 that there's nobody with Him... 00:41:35.89\00:41:37.23 the devil is saying, "What's the use of you going through this, 00:41:37.26\00:41:39.96 nobody is going to be saved, 00:41:40.00\00:41:41.40 everybody has forsaken you, 00:41:41.43\00:41:42.80 go back to heaven where You're loved... " 00:41:42.83\00:41:44.87 but Jesus stuck with it 00:41:44.90\00:41:48.40 and the Bible tells us that Jesus died as the Passover Lamb. 00:41:48.44\00:41:54.58 Is that what will happen for the deliverance of Israel 00:41:54.61\00:41:57.91 in the Old Testament? 00:41:57.98\00:41:59.31 Notice 1st Corinthians chapter 5... 00:41:59.35\00:42:01.58 1st Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 7, 00:42:01.62\00:42:03.95 see, Jesus is repeating the history of Israel... 00:42:03.99\00:42:06.59 1st Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 7. 00:42:06.62\00:42:09.42 The Apostle Paul says this, 00:42:09.46\00:42:11.56 "Therefore purge out the old leaven, 00:42:11.59\00:42:14.86 that you may be a new lump, 00:42:14.90\00:42:17.60 since you truly are unleavened. 00:42:17.63\00:42:20.27 For indeed Christ, our Passover, 00:42:20.30\00:42:24.57 was sacrificed for us. ' 00:43:13.79\00:43:16.99 This He said, signifying by what death He would die. " 00:43:17.03\00:43:23.20 What was it that cast out Satan as the king of this world? 00:43:23.23\00:43:28.04 What returned the kingdom and the world back to Jesus? 00:43:28.07\00:43:31.44 It was the death of Jesus on the cross. 00:43:31.47\00:43:34.64 Now, we can remember Genesis 3:15. 00:43:34.68\00:43:37.51 God said that He was going to send a Seed to the world 00:43:37.55\00:43:40.35 and the Seed is going to crush the serpent's head 00:43:40.38\00:43:42.75 and just a few verses further down in verse 21, 00:43:42.78\00:43:46.79 God explains how that Seed is going to crush 00:43:46.82\00:43:50.23 the serpent's head. 00:43:50.26\00:43:51.73 It says in Genesis 3 verse 21 00:43:51.79\00:43:54.40 that lambs were sacrificed on that day 00:43:54.43\00:43:58.07 and from the skins of the sacrifice, 00:43:58.10\00:44:01.57 the nakedness of Adam and Eve was covered. 00:44:01.60\00:44:04.71 In other words, they returned to their original condition 00:44:04.74\00:44:07.58 and so, Genesis 3:15 says, "The Seed will crush your head" 00:44:07.61\00:44:11.71 verse 21 of chapter 3 explains that it's the death of the Lamb 00:44:11.75\00:44:16.55 that will crush the serpent's head. 00:44:16.58\00:44:18.75 In John chapter 12, Jesus says, 00:44:18.79\00:44:21.02 "The ruler of this world would be cast out... " 00:47:26.78\00:47:30.61 And now notice verse 12... 00:47:30.65\00:47:32.35 "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them!" 00:47:32.38\00:47:38.65 Let's stop there... 00:47:38.69\00:47:40.32 what are the heavens supposed to do 00:47:40.36\00:47:41.69 because Jesus has cast down the ruler of this world 00:47:41.72\00:47:43.83 and now Jesus legally rules... 00:47:43.86\00:47:46.06 the heavens are supposed to... what? 00:47:46.09\00:47:48.13 Rejoice... 00:47:48.16\00:47:49.50 Why should they rejoice? 00:47:49.53\00:47:50.87 Because that pest can't go up there anymore... 00:47:50.90\00:47:53.84 the accuser of the brethren has been cast out. 00:47:53.87\00:47:57.37 Jesus is now the representative of this world. 00:47:57.41\00:48:00.84 Jesus, as the second Adam, has legally recovered the world. 00:48:00.88\00:48:04.91 He hasn't empirically taken it yet, 00:48:04.95\00:48:07.38 but legally in court, He has gained the world back 00:48:07.42\00:48:10.62 and so, it says here, "Rejoice, O heavens, 00:48:10.65\00:48:15.32 and you who dwell in them!" 00:48:15.36\00:48:17.09 But now notice... 00:48:17.13\00:48:18.46 "Woe... Years... 00:50:12.91\00:50:15.14 now the question is, why is she fleeing? 00:50:15.18\00:50:17.18 Who's persecuting her? 00:50:17.21\00:50:18.88 Well, later on in the chapter, 00:50:18.91\00:50:20.82 we have an explanation of this verse, 00:50:20.85\00:50:22.35 notice verse 13, 00:50:22.38\00:50:24.02 "Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth... " 00:50:24.05\00:50:28.79 does the persecution of the woman have anything to do 00:50:28.82\00:50:31.39 with the fact that the devil has been cast out 00:50:31.43\00:50:32.96 as the Ruler of this world? 00:50:32.99\00:50:34.33 He's filled with rage 00:50:34.36\00:50:36.00 because he doesn't have access to Jesus anymore, 00:50:36.03\00:50:37.63 so, it says, "Now when the dragon saw 00:50:37.67\00:50:39.73 verse on screen... 00:50:39.77\00:50:44.67 see, now the enmity is between the serpent and the woman. 00:50:44.71\00:50:47.88 Revelation 3:15... I mean Genesis 3:15 has that also, 00:50:47.91\00:50:51.05 the serpent and the woman are at war... 00:50:51.08\00:50:53.85 and the seed of the woman and the serpent are at war... 00:50:53.88\00:50:57.02 he already warred against the seed of the woman and lost, 00:50:57.05\00:51:00.16 so now, he goes after the woman 00:51:00.19\00:51:02.22 and notice verse 14... 00:51:02.26\00:51:09.16 verse on screen... 00:51:09.20\00:51:16.04 same elements as verse 6, right? 00:51:16.07\00:51:18.07 "where she is nourished for a time and times 00:51:18.11\00:51:22.41 and half a time, 00:51:22.44\00:51:24.01 from the presence of the serpent. 00:51:24.05\00:51:26.51 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth... " 00:54:05.77\00:54:09.48 why? because the earth helped the woman, right? 00:54:09.51\00:54:13.18 "was enraged with the woman... " 00:54:13.21\00:54:15.38 we'll talk about the earth later on in this Seminar... 00:54:15.42\00:54:17.59 "and he went to make... " what? 00:54:17.62\00:54:19.99 "war... " 00:54:32.97\00:54:36.60 Do you have the same four elements in Revelation 12:17 00:54:36.64\00:54:41.08 as you have in Genesis 3:15? 00:54:41.11\00:54:42.54 Let's look at it, 00:54:42.58\00:54:45.01 do we have in Revelation 12:17, enmity? 00:54:45.05\00:54:49.72 Yes or no? 00:54:49.78\00:54:51.32 Absolutely. 00:54:51.35\00:54:52.85 Do we have in Revelation 12 verse 17, 00:54:52.89\00:54:56.32 a woman? 00:54:56.36\00:54:57.79 Yes we do. 00:54:57.83\00:54:59.16 Do we have in Revelation 12:17 a dragon or a serpent? 00:54:59.19\00:55:04.27 Yes. 00:55:04.30\00:55:05.80 Do we have in Revelation 12:17, a seed? 00:55:05.83\00:55:09.57 Yes, we do. 00:55:09.60\00:55:11.31 And by the way, 00:55:11.34\00:55:13.61 is not speaking about the seed of the woman, 00:55:13.64\00:55:15.84 it's talking about the seed's seed. 00:55:15.88\00:55:18.35 I'll let you digest that for a couple of seconds. 00:55:18.38\00:55:23.08 The warfare is not against the seed... 00:55:23.15\00:55:26.05 it's not even against the woman... 00:55:26.09\00:55:28.96 it's against the seed's seed. 00:55:28.99\00:55:32.66 The final remnant of the woman's seed. 00:55:32.69\00:55:35.10 Now, who is the woman's seed? 00:55:35.13\00:55:36.46 We already studied it, verses 1 through 5 says 00:55:36.50\00:55:40.47 that the seed of the woman that she bears is... what? 00:55:40.50\00:55:43.07 Jesus. 00:55:43.10\00:55:44.44 So, who must the remnant of her seed be? 00:55:44.47\00:55:47.94 If her seed is Jesus, it must be the remnant of... 00:55:47.98\00:55:51.35 Jesus... 00:55:51.38\00:55:52.98 You're not following me are you? 00:55:53.01\00:55:56.05 It's the remnant of Jesus. 00:55:56.08\00:55:58.49 So are there going to be Christians in this world 00:55:58.52\00:56:01.09 in the final persecution of Satan against the church? 00:56:01.12\00:56:03.66 Absolutely. 00:56:03.69\00:56:05.53 By the way, in John chapter 12 and verse 24, 00:56:05.56\00:56:10.30 Jesus says that unless the seed falls into the ground and dies, 00:56:10.37\00:56:14.20 it cannot bear fruit 00:56:14.24\00:56:16.24 but if it falls into the ground and dies, 00:56:16.27\00:56:20.18 it will grow into a plant and produce much fruit. 00:56:20.21\00:56:22.74 That seed was Jesus. 00:56:22.78\00:56:24.91 When Jesus died on the cross, He was planted in the earth... 00:56:24.95\00:56:28.48 He resurrected... He sprouted to new life... 00:56:28.52\00:56:32.09 the seed died and it sprouted 00:56:32.12\00:56:34.52 and now, because Jesus died and resurrected, 00:56:34.56\00:56:37.93 what is He going to bear? 00:56:37.96\00:56:39.66 He is going to bear many children... 00:56:39.69\00:56:42.33 the seed's seed if you please. 00:56:42.36\00:56:45.43 That's why in Galatians chapter 3 00:56:45.47\00:56:48.50 it says that Jesus is the seed of Abraham. 00:56:48.54\00:56:52.17 He's the only seed... 00:56:52.21\00:56:53.98 the promise was not made to seeds 00:56:54.01\00:56:56.01 but to the seed who is Christ. 00:56:56.04\00:56:58.01 But then, later on in the chapter is says, 00:56:58.05\00:56:59.91 verse on screen... 00:56:59.95\00:57:04.32 because when we join Jesus, we are the seed's seed 00:57:04.35\00:57:08.32 and the devil hates us as much as he hated Jesus 00:57:08.36\00:57:12.26 and so this verse is speaking about the final persecution 00:57:12.29\00:57:16.46 against the church at the very end of time 00:57:16.50\00:57:19.43 and we will study more about this 00:57:19.47\00:57:21.80 as we move along in this Seminar. 00:57:21.84\00:57:24.14
