Shall we bow our heads for prayer? 00:01:12.24\00:01:13.70 Our Father in Heaven, we thank You for this wonderful day that 00:01:13.73\00:01:17.79 You have given us. 00:01:17.82\00:01:18.85 We thank You for the privilege of living in a country 00:01:18.88\00:01:21.83 where we can worship freely, and read Your Holy Word 00:01:21.86\00:01:25.68 freely and obey it. 00:01:25.71\00:01:27.41 We ask that as we open that word this evening that You will 00:01:27.54\00:01:32.61 be with us through the presence of Your Holy Spirit. 00:01:32.64\00:01:34.87 Help us to understand the very important issues 00:01:34.90\00:01:39.52 that we're going to bring forth tonight. 00:01:39.55\00:01:41.50 We thank You Lord for hearing our prayer for we ask it 00:01:41.53\00:01:45.17 in Jesus' name, Amen. 00:01:45.20\00:01:47.83 The title of our study today is, New Age or Ancient Lie? 00:01:47.86\00:01:59.84 And we want to begin our study at Matthew 6:9, Matthew 6:9. 00:01:59.87\00:02:09.27 There's a very important principle that is expressed here 00:02:09.30\00:02:13.98 in what is known as The Lord's Prayer. 00:02:14.01\00:02:17.02 Matthew 6:9. Here Jesus says this: 00:02:17.05\00:02:23.71 Now why are we beginning our study with this verse? 00:02:36.08\00:02:39.63 Because this verse has some very important information 00:02:39.66\00:02:45.55 which will be useful in our study in understanding our study 00:02:45.58\00:02:50.56 for this evening. 00:02:50.59\00:02:51.62 First of all this verse makes it very clear that God 00:02:51.65\00:02:57.69 is a personal God, because we're supposed to 00:02:57.72\00:03:02.97 address Him as Father. 00:03:03.00\00:03:05.93 And so if He's our Father, we are His sons and daughters. 00:03:05.96\00:03:11.18 We are His children. 00:03:11.21\00:03:12.45 The only way that this can be true is if God is a person. 00:03:12.48\00:03:17.75 The second point that I want us to notice is that God is in a 00:03:17.78\00:03:25.90 specific place, which in the Bible is called heaven. 00:03:25.93\00:03:30.06 In other words, God inhabits a certain place, 00:03:30.09\00:03:34.95 a certain location, which in this verse is called heaven. 00:03:34.98\00:03:41.47 Now we're going to notice in our study this evening many things 00:03:41.50\00:03:46.94 that you've thought about, and you've heard many times before. 00:03:46.97\00:03:50.61 But I want you to notice the way that all of the points 00:03:50.64\00:03:54.21 are interconnected, because at the end of our study we're going 00:03:54.24\00:03:58.20 to talk about a philosophy which has almost taken over the whole 00:03:58.23\00:04:02.87 world, including the Christian world. 00:04:02.90\00:04:06.53 I'm talking about New Age philosophies 00:04:06.56\00:04:10.59 and New Age theologies. 00:04:10.62\00:04:12.79 Now go with me to Genesis 1:1, and this verse we practically 00:04:12.82\00:04:19.29 don't even have to look it up, but I'm going to look it up 00:04:19.32\00:04:22.35 in my Bible anyway. 00:04:22.38\00:04:23.82 It has a very important principle. It says there: 00:04:23.85\00:04:27.00 Now you say, Why would you read that verse? 00:04:35.49\00:04:37.97 For a very simple reason. 00:04:38.00\00:04:39.88 This verse makes it very clear that God 00:04:39.91\00:04:45.87 pre-existed the universe. 00:04:45.90\00:04:48.98 In other words, God existed before His creation. 00:04:49.01\00:04:54.90 God and the universe are not co-eternal. 00:04:54.93\00:05:00.21 God existed before the universe was created. 00:05:00.24\00:05:06.08 God is distinct from His universe. 00:05:06.11\00:05:10.08 God is transcendent. 00:05:10.11\00:05:13.02 That is He is separate from His universe, from His creation. 00:05:13.05\00:05:18.13 God is the Creator and the universe is His creation. 00:05:18.16\00:05:23.18 Notice Colossians 1:16, 17, Colossians 1:16, 17. 00:05:23.21\00:05:32.79 This is speaking about Jesus Christ, and it enunciates 00:05:32.82\00:05:39.50 several very important principles. It says: 00:05:39.53\00:05:43.23 Is it clear to you in these verses 00:06:16.44\00:06:19.62 that Jesus Christ was the Creator? 00:06:19.65\00:06:21.41 Is it also clear to you that Jesus Christ existed 00:06:21.44\00:06:26.16 before His creation? 00:06:26.19\00:06:27.87 Is it clear to you that there's a distinction between 00:06:27.90\00:06:31.71 Jesus and His creation? 00:06:31.74\00:06:34.10 That Jesus transcends His creation. 00:06:34.13\00:06:37.24 He pre-exists His creation. 00:06:37.27\00:06:39.49 He is separate and distinct from creation. 00:06:39.52\00:06:43.57 He is distinct, in other words, from the universe. 00:06:43.60\00:06:47.50 Notice another text that enunciates this same principle. 00:06:47.53\00:06:52.22 You're probably wondering why I'm underlining this so much. 00:06:52.25\00:06:55.74 You're going to see before we reach the end 00:06:55.77\00:06:57.73 of our study today. John 1:1-3. 00:06:57.76\00:07:05.39 Now lets stop there just for a moment. 00:07:14.38\00:07:16.92 It doesn't say, In the beginning became the Word. 00:07:22.75\00:07:26.43 It says, In the beginning the Word already was. 00:07:26.46\00:07:31.49 In other words, Jesus existed before the beginning. 00:07:31.52\00:07:36.71 Before the beginning of what? 00:07:36.74\00:07:38.75 Let's continue reading verse 2. It says: 00:07:38.78\00:07:42.31 According to this verse, did Jesus pre-exist His creation? 00:07:56.61\00:08:03.13 Is He distinct from His creation? 00:08:03.16\00:08:06.88 Does He transcend? 00:08:06.91\00:08:08.54 Is He above His creation? 00:08:08.57\00:08:10.80 Yes, He is distinct and separate from His creation, 00:08:10.83\00:08:15.48 and the Bible calls Him our Father. 00:08:15.51\00:08:18.78 Of course, when He becomes incarnate 00:08:18.81\00:08:20.46 He becomes our brother. 00:08:20.49\00:08:21.85 But as our Creator Jesus is our Father. 00:08:21.88\00:08:26.02 Now this is a very important point that we're beginning with 00:08:26.05\00:08:30.12 in our study today. 00:08:30.15\00:08:31.18 Jesus pre-existed His creation. 00:08:31.21\00:08:35.43 He brought everything into existence. 00:08:35.46\00:08:38.95 He is distinct from His creation. 00:08:38.98\00:08:42.11 He transcends His creation. 00:08:42.14\00:08:44.53 All things came from Him, which means that there was a time 00:08:44.56\00:08:48.94 when there was no universe and only God existed. 00:08:48.98\00:08:53.62 Because if you believe that the universe has always existed 00:08:53.65\00:08:57.91 you would have to conclude that the universe is equal to God. 00:08:57.94\00:09:02.81 But scripture makes it clear that the universe, 00:09:02.84\00:09:05.54 at some point in eternity past, we don't know exactly when, 00:09:05.57\00:09:09.99 the universe came into existence. 00:09:10.02\00:09:12.38 It is not eternal. 00:09:12.41\00:09:13.65 It was created. God created it. 00:09:13.68\00:09:17.23 Now I want you to notice Genesis 1:11, Genesis 1:11. 00:09:17.26\00:09:25.82 We're going to go through creation week and see what it 00:09:25.85\00:09:29.99 was that Jesus created. 00:09:30.02\00:09:32.10 Genesis 1:11. By the way, when it says here that God said, 00:09:32.13\00:09:38.46 we know that the person of the Godhead who is 00:09:38.49\00:09:40.91 doing this is Jesus. 00:09:40.94\00:09:42.63 All things were made through Him, 00:09:42.66\00:09:46.43 and He is before all things. 00:09:46.46\00:09:50.55 And through Him all things were created. 00:09:50.58\00:09:53.84 And so it says in verse 11: 00:09:53.87\00:09:55.87 Who created the plants? 00:10:11.82\00:10:13.48 Who created the vegetation? Jesus. 00:10:13.51\00:10:17.92 Is the vegetation eternal like Jesus is, 00:10:17.95\00:10:23.87 or did vegetation have an origin? 00:10:23.90\00:10:26.49 Vegetation had an origin according to this verse. 00:10:26.52\00:10:30.23 Now go with me to Genesis 1:21, Genesis 1:21. 00:10:30.26\00:10:39.55 You could put Jesus there in the light of John 1. 00:10:41.82\00:10:44.65 Did the fish and the birds have an origin or a beginning? Yes. 00:11:02.07\00:11:07.55 Who made them? God, or Jesus. 00:11:07.58\00:11:10.99 Go with me to verse 24, verse 24 of Genesis 1. 00:11:11.02\00:11:15.91 Were the beasts of the field created by Jesus? 00:11:30.01\00:11:34.12 Did they have an origin or a beginning during creation week? 00:11:34.15\00:11:38.41 Absolutely. Now lets go to Genesis 2:7, Genesis 2:7. 00:11:38.44\00:11:46.37 Here it speaks about the creation of man. 00:11:46.40\00:11:50.07 And we're told this: 00:11:50.10\00:11:51.91 Is man eternal, or did man have a beginning? 00:12:07.70\00:12:12.62 It goes without saying that, according to this verse, 00:12:12.65\00:12:16.36 man did not always exist. 00:12:16.39\00:12:18.76 At some point God, Jesus, in the light of John 1, created man. 00:12:18.79\00:12:26.24 Now go with me to Isaiah 64, Isaiah 64:8, Isaiah 64:8. 00:12:26.27\00:12:36.33 Here we find an additional description 00:12:36.36\00:12:40.52 of the creation of man. 00:12:40.55\00:12:41.89 It says there, once again Isaiah 64:8, But now, O Lord, 00:12:41.92\00:12:48.68 You are our what? father; we are the clay, and you our potter; 00:12:48.71\00:13:01.58 and all we are the work of your hand. 00:13:01.61\00:13:05.98 Very close to Genesis 2:7 where it says that God took dust 00:13:06.01\00:13:10.89 from the ground. Actually, it was clay. 00:13:10.92\00:13:12.66 It was wet dust. And He formed man. 00:13:12.89\00:13:15.64 The only thing is in Isaiah 64 it tells us 00:13:15.67\00:13:19.31 that God is our Father. 00:13:19.34\00:13:22.65 In other words, Jesus is our Father. 00:13:22.68\00:13:25.74 So the book of Genesis makes it very clear that everything 00:13:25.77\00:13:31.09 in this earth had an origin; had a beginning. 00:13:31.12\00:13:35.49 And it also clearly reveals that God, who created these things, 00:13:35.53\00:13:40.28 pre-existed these things, and actually transcends, 00:13:40.31\00:13:45.30 and is separate and distinct from His creation. 00:13:45.33\00:13:49.58 Now lets notice where life originated. 00:13:49.61\00:13:54.09 It goes without saying that plants are alive, 00:13:54.12\00:13:58.10 and birds and fish are alive, animals are alive, 00:13:58.13\00:14:00.84 human beings are alive. 00:14:00.87\00:14:02.56 But what was the source, explicitly, 00:14:02.59\00:14:05.66 of the life of creation? 00:14:05.69\00:14:07.95 Go with me to Acts 17, Acts 17, and we'll begin 00:14:07.98\00:14:15.07 reading at verse 24. 00:14:15.10\00:14:17.28 Acts 17:24. Here the apostle Paul is entertaining a dialog 00:14:17.31\00:14:23.34 with the philosophers at Athens. 00:14:23.37\00:14:27.05 You know, the Greeks were renowned for their philosophy. 00:14:27.08\00:14:30.87 And so the apostle Paul matched philosophy with philosophy. 00:14:30.90\00:14:35.27 Now I want you to notice what he says to those who were 00:14:35.30\00:14:38.74 worshipping the unknown God. Verse 24: 00:14:38.77\00:14:41.44 And now notice this: 00:15:00.58\00:15:02.26 Where did life come from, according to the apostle Paul? 00:15:47.24\00:15:50.57 It came from God! 00:15:50.60\00:15:53.12 God is the source of our life. 00:15:53.15\00:15:55.57 He is the source of our existence. 00:15:55.60\00:15:58.83 Now notice what we find in Genesis 2:9, Genesis 2:9. 00:15:58.86\00:16:06.79 God, that is Jesus, placed in the garden of Eden 00:16:06.82\00:16:10.35 a special tree, and Genesis 2:9 tells us about that tree. 00:16:10.38\00:16:16.44 It says there: 00:16:16.47\00:16:17.50 Now the tree that I want us to focus on here 00:16:34.48\00:16:36.63 is the tree of life. 00:16:36.66\00:16:38.10 Question, Did man have to eat from the tree of life in order 00:16:38.13\00:16:43.17 to have his existence perpetuated? 00:16:43.20\00:16:45.97 Did he have to eat from the tree of life to continue living? 00:16:46.00\00:16:51.22 He most certainly did. 00:16:51.25\00:16:52.88 You say, How do we know that? 00:16:52.91\00:16:54.25 It's very simple. After Adam and Eve sinned they were cast out 00:16:54.28\00:16:59.16 of the garden, because God did not want them to eat from 00:16:59.19\00:17:03.15 the tree of life and continue living forever. 00:17:03.18\00:17:06.13 Now if they already had eternal life abiding within themselves 00:17:06.16\00:17:10.93 it would have done absolutely no good for God to forbid them from 00:17:10.96\00:17:14.47 eating from the tree. 00:17:14.50\00:17:15.58 Notice Genesis 3 on this point. 00:17:15.61\00:17:18.56 Genesis 3:22-24. 00:17:18.59\00:17:22.47 Let me ask you, was the life of man contingent? 00:17:57.55\00:18:01.82 Do you understand that word contingent? 00:18:01.85\00:18:04.69 In other words, did man depend on a source of life outside 00:18:04.72\00:18:09.97 himself? Yes. The life was not inside, the life was in the tree 00:18:10.00\00:18:15.93 which God planted in the garden. 00:18:15.96\00:18:18.55 In this way God wanted to teach man that his source of life 00:18:18.58\00:18:21.96 was not within himself. 00:18:21.99\00:18:23.56 His source of life was outside of him in the tree 00:18:23.59\00:18:26.88 which God had planted. 00:18:26.91\00:18:29.19 In other words, the life of man was derived. 00:18:29.22\00:18:32.68 The life of man was received from God, from the Creator. 00:18:32.71\00:18:36.85 It was not inherent. 00:18:36.88\00:18:38.25 It did not belong to man by nature. 00:18:38.28\00:18:41.71 He could perpetuate his existence only by partaking of 00:18:41.74\00:18:45.46 the external tree that God had made. 00:18:45.49\00:18:48.63 Now another very important point that we find in the book of 00:18:48.66\00:18:52.69 Genesis is that man was created to have dominion over the earth. 00:18:52.72\00:18:57.45 Notice Genesis 1:26, and then we'll read also verse 28. 00:18:57.48\00:19:04.72 Genesis 1, and I'll read verse 26 and then I'll go to verse 28. 00:19:04.75\00:19:10.25 It says in verse 26: Then God said, Let us make man 00:19:10.28\00:19:14.68 in our image, according to our likeness. 00:19:14.71\00:19:17.02 Let them have what? dominion over the fish of the sea, 00:19:17.05\00:19:22.55 over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, 00:19:22.58\00:19:25.42 over all the earth, and over every creeping thing 00:19:25.45\00:19:28.82 that creeps on the earth. Verse 28. 00:19:28.85\00:19:31.28 Notice that God created man to have dominion over creation. 00:19:47.78\00:19:53.52 Let me ask you this then, was man superior to creation? 00:19:53.55\00:19:58.51 Was he? Was he king of creation? 00:19:58.54\00:20:03.29 Absolutely, because he was told to have dominion. 00:20:03.32\00:20:06.85 Of course, above and over man, God had dominion over him. 00:20:06.88\00:20:11.64 But I want you to notice that man was placed to rule 00:20:11.67\00:20:15.31 over nature, which means that nature and man are not equal. 00:20:15.34\00:20:19.57 Animals and man are not the same. 00:20:19.60\00:20:25.46 Plants and human beings are not the same. 00:20:25.49\00:20:29.15 Planets and human beings are not the same. 00:20:29.18\00:20:32.75 What I'm saying is that man was created to have 00:20:32.78\00:20:37.10 dominion over nature. 00:20:37.13\00:20:38.54 He is distinct and separate from nature, because he was created 00:20:38.57\00:20:43.05 in the image of God. 00:20:43.08\00:20:45.64 Now notice also Genesis 2:15, Genesis 2:15. 00:20:45.67\00:20:52.23 By the way, this was supposed to be a loving dominion. 00:20:52.26\00:20:54.48 Man was not supposed to mistreat the ecosystem. 00:20:54.51\00:20:59.76 In other words, he was supposed to care for creation. 00:20:59.79\00:21:03.56 He was supposed to care for the air, and for the rivers, 00:21:03.59\00:21:06.58 and for the earth, because this was going to be his home. 00:21:06.61\00:21:10.14 He was to care for creation, not because creation was God, 00:21:10.17\00:21:13.73 but because creation was made by God, and it belonged to God. 00:21:13.76\00:21:18.17 Now notice Genesis 2:15, Genesis 2:15. It says here: 00:21:18.20\00:21:27.20 What did God place Adam in the garden for? to be the caretaker; 00:21:37.47\00:21:43.88 the one who would maintain the garden beautiful and in order. 00:21:43.91\00:21:50.65 In other words, man was superior to creation that God had made. 00:21:50.68\00:21:57.12 He was made to take care of the ecosystem. 00:21:57.15\00:22:01.06 Are you understanding what I am saying? 00:22:01.09\00:22:03.44 All of this is of critical importance, 00:22:03.47\00:22:05.81 we'll notice as we study along. 00:22:05.84\00:22:07.26 God made man. He made a wonderful body, didn't He? 00:22:07.29\00:22:12.43 Now notice what the apostle Paul says in 00:22:12.46\00:22:15.54 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20. 00:22:15.57\00:22:22.23 You know this is something that it would be a good idea for 00:22:22.26\00:22:26.05 Christians to read on a regular basis. 00:22:26.08\00:22:28.67 The apostle Paul says, For do you not know that your body 00:22:28.70\00:22:32.47 is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, 00:22:32.50\00:22:35.13 whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 00:22:35.16\00:22:39.68 For you were bought at a price: therefore glorify God 00:22:39.71\00:22:44.72 in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 00:22:44.75\00:22:50.15 Why was Adam supposed to take care of the garden of Eden? 00:22:50.18\00:22:53.78 Because it was God's. 00:22:53.81\00:22:57.68 Why, according to the apostle Paul, are we supposed to 00:22:57.71\00:23:00.46 take care of our body? because it is God's. 00:23:00.49\00:23:04.83 Don't forget that, because later on we're going to find that 00:23:04.86\00:23:07.65 New Agers believe that we're supposed to take care of 00:23:07.68\00:23:09.86 the body, and we're supposed to take care of nature, 00:23:09.89\00:23:12.30 not because they are God's, but because they are God. 00:23:12.33\00:23:16.47 There's a difference! 00:23:16.50\00:23:19.91 Now, let's notice a few other things about creation. 00:23:19.94\00:23:25.43 Genesis 2:16, 17, Genesis 2: 16, 17. 00:23:25.46\00:23:33.96 This God who gave life to man, who created nature, 00:23:33.99\00:23:40.72 who placed Adam and Eve as caretakers of His creation, 00:23:40.75\00:23:48.82 or rulers over His creation, had a law which He expected 00:23:48.85\00:23:54.03 Adam and Eve to obey. 00:23:54.06\00:23:55.88 Notice Genesis 2:16, 17, Genesis 2:16, 17. It says there: 00:23:55.91\00:24:04.98 Did God have a law that He expected His creatures to obey? 00:24:19.32\00:24:23.41 Yes or No? Was this law external to man, or did man just guess 00:24:23.44\00:24:30.93 within himself what God expected from him? No! 00:24:30.96\00:24:34.57 The fact is that God had a law outside man, external to man, 00:24:34.60\00:24:40.28 which He expected man to what? 00:24:40.31\00:24:43.23 He expected man to obey. 00:24:43.26\00:24:46.08 Was Adam, and was Eve accountable 00:24:46.11\00:24:51.73 to God as a superior? Absolutely! 00:24:51.76\00:24:56.74 Notice that after they sinned something very interesting 00:24:56.77\00:25:00.67 occurred. Genesis 3:8-11, Genesis 3:8-11. 00:25:00.70\00:25:08.49 Notice that He's calling Adam to render Him an account. 00:25:08.52\00:25:12.25 Adam is supposed to give God an accounting of his actions. 00:25:12.28\00:25:16.43 Does this make God greater than Adam? 00:25:16.46\00:25:18.64 Does this show that God is separate from Adam? 00:25:18.67\00:25:22.23 That God has a law which He expects His creatures to obey? 00:25:22.26\00:25:25.80 Absolutely! Now notice Genesis 3:8: And they heard 00:25:25.83\00:25:30.71 the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden 00:25:30.74\00:25:32.83 in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves 00:25:32.86\00:25:36.19 from the presence of the Lord God among the 00:25:36.22\00:25:38.18 trees of the garden. 00:25:38.21\00:25:39.24 Then the Lord God called Adam, and said to him, Where are you? 00:25:39.27\00:25:43.85 So he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, 00:25:43.88\00:25:47.97 because I was naked; and I hid myself. 00:25:48.00\00:25:50.12 Is God asking Adam to render Him an account; 00:25:58.70\00:26:02.38 an accounting for what he's done? Absolutely! 00:26:02.41\00:26:05.63 The accounting is of a creature to his Creator. 00:26:05.66\00:26:10.69 Notice also Genesis 3:13, when He comes and speaks with Eve. 00:26:10.72\00:26:16.04 It says there in verse 13: 00:26:16.07\00:26:18.14 The woman said, The serpent deceived, me and I ate. 00:26:23.56\00:26:29.39 Is God asking Adam and Eve to render Him an accounting 00:26:29.42\00:26:34.06 for what they have done? Absolutely! 00:26:34.09\00:26:37.24 For breaking His law; His external, objective law 00:26:37.27\00:26:41.72 outside of man? Absolutely, Yes! 00:26:41.75\00:26:46.05 In fact, do you know the Bible in many places says that we as 00:26:46.08\00:26:50.31 creatures will have to render God an 00:26:50.34\00:26:52.43 accounting for our actions. 00:26:52.46\00:26:54.10 Let's notice several of those verses. 00:26:54.13\00:26:56.95 Go with me to 2 Corinthians 5:10, 2 Corinthians 5:10. 00:26:56.98\00:27:05.76 Here the apostle Paul presents this very important principle 00:27:05.79\00:27:09.92 that God is the Creator, and we as creatures someday will have 00:27:09.95\00:27:14.12 to stand before His judgment bar, and God is going to hold us 00:27:14.15\00:27:17.83 accountable as to whether we obeyed His law or not. 00:27:17.86\00:27:21.35 Notice 2 Corinthians 5:10. 00:27:21.38\00:27:24.88 Here the apostle Paul says: 00:27:24.91\00:27:27.22 The judgment seat of whom? 00:27:36.80\00:27:40.60 Who's going to be our judge? Christ. 00:27:40.63\00:27:45.09 Who is our Creator? Christ. 00:27:45.12\00:27:48.79 Will we have to render an account to our Creator? Yes. 00:27:48.82\00:27:52.73 By the way, whom did Adam and Eve render an account to? 00:27:52.76\00:27:55.79 It must have been who? Christ. 00:27:55.82\00:27:59.19 Because we must appear before the judgment seat of Christ. 00:27:59.22\00:28:02.53 Now notice: 00:28:02.56\00:28:03.59 Must we someday render an account for our 00:28:13.63\00:28:18.22 actions to our Creator, to Jesus Christ? Absolutely! 00:28:18.25\00:28:23.19 Notice also John 5:22, 27, John 5:22, 27. 00:28:23.22\00:28:31.36 This theme of us giving an accounting for what we've done 00:28:31.39\00:28:34.78 to our Creator God is very abundant in scripture. 00:28:34.81\00:28:38.99 It says there in John 5:22: 00:28:39.02\00:28:42.31 Notice verse 27: It says: 00:28:50.86\00:28:54.11 That is the Father. 00:28:55.84\00:28:56.87 According to the Bible, who is going to be the judge? 00:29:06.23\00:29:10.25 The judge is going to be none less than 00:29:10.28\00:29:13.89 Jesus Christ our Creator. 00:29:13.92\00:29:15.74 We will all have to render Him an account as to a superior. 00:29:15.77\00:29:21.50 Now lets go to Ecclesiastes 11:9. 00:29:21.53\00:29:25.52 I want this point to be absolutely abundantly clear. 00:29:25.55\00:29:28.59 Ecclesiastes 11:9, and here Solomon is speaking 00:29:28.62\00:29:37.17 to the young people. 00:29:37.20\00:29:38.23 He's speaking to youth, and he says this: 00:29:38.26\00:29:40.87 He's speaking kind of sarcastically. He's saying: 00:29:44.35\00:29:47.32 In other words, live it up. 00:29:53.38\00:29:54.70 That is have a good time, but now notice: 00:29:57.42\00:30:01.71 And then chapter 12 and verse 1 says to the youth, 00:30:10.70\00:30:14.81 because you remember that God is going to bring you into 00:30:14.84\00:30:17.96 judgment, He says: 00:30:17.99\00:30:19.10 Do you see, once again, that the idea is that we will 00:30:24.68\00:30:27.93 have to appear before our Creator in judgment 00:30:27.96\00:30:32.97 to give an account for our actions, according to scripture? 00:30:33.00\00:30:36.69 By the way, do you know that we are now in that judgment? 00:30:36.72\00:30:40.43 Go with me to Revelation 14, Revelation 14:6, 7, 00:30:40.46\00:30:46.85 Revelation 14:6, 7. It says here: 00:30:46.88\00:30:50.70 Ha Ha, you're sharp tonight! It says: 00:31:09.23\00:31:13.70 Do you see how the idea of judgment is connected to the 00:31:25.18\00:31:28.02 fact that God is the Creator; that Jesus is the Creator? 00:31:28.05\00:31:30.73 It says, Worship Him who what? who created the heavens, 00:31:30.76\00:31:34.28 the earth, the seas, and the fountains of waters. 00:31:34.31\00:31:37.50 Now is this clear that we're all going to have to render 00:31:37.53\00:31:40.72 an account to God, because God is going to judge us? 00:31:40.75\00:31:43.67 Jesus is going to judge us? 00:31:43.70\00:31:44.92 Absolutely, the scripture is clear. 00:31:44.95\00:31:47.52 Now let me ask you, as a result of sin did man begin to die? 00:31:47.55\00:31:54.31 Man had to eat from the tree of life to continue living; 00:31:54.34\00:31:59.27 God's tree. But when Adam and Eve sinned, did they and their 00:31:59.30\00:32:04.10 descendents begin to die, just like God said? 00:32:04.13\00:32:06.53 So man must not be immortal then. 00:32:06.56\00:32:09.75 Now notice several verses on this point. 00:32:09.78\00:32:12.75 Genesis 2:17, I don't even have to look this one up. 00:32:12.78\00:32:17.54 It says in Genesis 2:17: 00:32:17.57\00:32:20.43 In the day that you disobey My law you will what? 00:32:26.01\00:32:29.62 And, of course, God is saying, I will judge you, 00:32:31.50\00:32:33.94 and if you're found guilty, in the judgment, 00:32:33.97\00:32:36.99 then you will what? 00:32:37.02\00:32:39.26 Then you will die. 00:32:39.29\00:32:40.56 Did God pronounce that sentence against Adam? 00:32:40.59\00:32:43.63 In Genesis 3:19 God said to Adam, Dust you are, and to dust 00:32:43.66\00:32:52.45 you shall what? and to dust you shall return. 00:32:52.48\00:32:55.66 By the way, how many people in this world have sinned? 00:32:55.69\00:32:59.80 Anybody here that's never sinned? 00:32:59.83\00:33:03.03 Don't raise your hand. 00:33:03.06\00:33:05.48 I don't want you to sin, because you'd be lying. 00:33:05.51\00:33:09.52 The apostle Paul says there is none righteous, no, not one! 00:33:09.55\00:33:16.07 That's in Romans 3:10, and he says in Romans 3:23: 00:33:16.10\00:33:21.09 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. 00:33:21.12\00:33:25.12 And as a result of disobeying God's holy law, appearing guilty 00:33:25.15\00:33:30.70 before the judgment battle of God, to render an accounting 00:33:30.73\00:33:33.85 for what we've done, the sentence of death is 00:33:33.88\00:33:37.20 pronounced against man. 00:33:37.23\00:33:39.08 And, by the way, the sentence of death has been 00:33:39.11\00:33:42.42 dictated upon all men, because all men have sinned. 00:33:42.45\00:33:45.87 Notice Romans 5:12, Romans 5:12, on this point. 00:33:45.90\00:33:52.43 Here the apostle Paul explains the consequences of sin 00:33:52.46\00:33:57.20 with the following words: 00:33:57.23\00:33:58.52 Death spread to how many? 00:34:12.88\00:34:14.69 Death spread to all men. 00:34:14.72\00:34:17.57 Let me ask you, is God mortal? 00:34:17.60\00:34:20.79 Can God die? God can't die. 00:34:20.82\00:34:27.57 Do you remember we read a text where it says, 00:34:27.60\00:34:30.17 that only God has what? 00:34:30.20\00:34:33.62 Only God has immortality. 00:34:33.65\00:34:37.01 Now you're probably saying, Pastor Bohr, this is a pretty 00:34:37.04\00:34:40.19 negative picture that you've painted here tonight. 00:34:40.22\00:34:45.15 You know the fact that God has a law that He holds His 00:34:45.18\00:34:50.08 creatures accountable to? 00:34:50.11\00:34:51.51 We've all disobeyed that law therefore when we appear 00:34:51.54\00:34:57.35 before the judgment seat of Christ we're all doomed. 00:34:57.38\00:35:00.97 We're all condemned to die, because we've sinned. 00:35:01.00\00:35:04.97 You say, Pastor, then how can anyone in this world ever 00:35:05.00\00:35:10.64 be saved from death? 00:35:10.67\00:35:12.12 The answer is very simple. 00:35:12.15\00:35:15.10 The Creator, according to the Bible, came down to this earth 00:35:15.13\00:35:20.26 to pay the debt that we owed. 00:35:20.29\00:35:24.53 He came down to this earth to suffer the death 00:35:24.56\00:35:28.63 which we should suffer so that we could have life. 00:35:28.66\00:35:31.67 In other words, because of sin, because of death, Jesus came 00:35:31.70\00:35:38.82 to this earth to pay our debt, so that we could be redeemed 00:35:38.85\00:35:43.75 from the power of death. 00:35:43.78\00:35:45.41 It was the only way out. 00:35:45.44\00:35:47.16 There was no other way of escape. 00:35:47.19\00:35:50.78 By the way, have you noticed that in Genesis 2:17 God said 00:35:50.81\00:35:55.29 to Adam, When you're 930 years old you will surely die? 00:35:55.32\00:35:59.95 What is it that he said in Genesis 2:17? 00:35:59.98\00:36:04.85 He said, The day that you eat thereof, you will what? 00:36:04.88\00:36:08.85 You will surely die. 00:36:08.88\00:36:11.22 But Adam did not die that very day. 00:36:11.25\00:36:12.99 You know, people say, Well, he began to die. 00:36:13.02\00:36:15.08 He died spiritually, you know. 00:36:15.11\00:36:17.15 And all of those have an element of truth. 00:36:17.18\00:36:19.48 But God was saying, The day that you eat from this tree, 00:36:19.51\00:36:22.75 that day you are going to die; second death, 00:36:22.78\00:36:25.36 eternal separation from God. 00:36:25.39\00:36:27.11 But Adam didn't die that day. 00:36:27.14\00:36:30.56 And so you ask the question, Why not? 00:36:30.59\00:36:33.68 Very simple. We've studied this before. 00:36:33.71\00:36:35.66 In Genesis 3:21 it says that God took the skins God made for Adam 00:36:35.69\00:36:41.97 and his wife, tunics of skins, and He clothed 00:36:42.00\00:36:47.37 the shame of their nakedness. 00:36:47.40\00:36:49.49 What needed to happen in order to get the skins 00:36:49.52\00:36:51.71 of those animals? 00:36:51.74\00:36:52.77 Those animals had to die. 00:36:52.80\00:36:56.02 The only way of getting the skin of an animal 00:36:56.05\00:36:58.09 is by slaying the animal. 00:36:58.12\00:36:59.57 In other words, the very day that Adam and Eve sinned, 00:36:59.60\00:37:02.29 they appeared before the Creator. 00:37:02.32\00:37:04.32 They said, We're guilty, we sinned, we deserve death. 00:37:04.35\00:37:07.99 But God, instead of executing the sentence of death against 00:37:08.02\00:37:11.74 them, executed the sentence of death against two lambs. 00:37:11.77\00:37:17.79 You say, but the blood of lambs and goats can't take away sin. 00:37:17.82\00:37:21.15 You're right! But those lambs represented Jesus Christ. 00:37:21.18\00:37:27.52 The Creator who would come and take the place of all of His 00:37:27.55\00:37:31.75 creatures, and suffer on the cross of Calvary the death that 00:37:31.78\00:37:36.52 His creatures should suffer. 00:37:36.55\00:37:38.27 And Jesus now became accountable before His Father in our place. 00:37:38.30\00:37:43.89 That's why in John 1:29 it says: 00:37:43.92\00:37:47.59 And as we're told in John 1:14: 00:37:57.89\00:38:00.73 In other words, the only way that humanity could be redeemed 00:38:05.82\00:38:11.01 from the sentence of death was if the Creator took the place 00:38:11.04\00:38:16.15 of His creatures, and suffered the death which they should die. 00:38:16.18\00:38:20.31 There was no other way out. 00:38:20.34\00:38:22.93 Now two or three other things before we study this world view, 00:38:22.96\00:38:29.42 this totally radically different world view of pantheism. 00:38:29.45\00:38:33.73 Do you remember that in the garden of Eden, 00:38:33.76\00:38:36.94 and this is just review, the devil came and he told Eve, 00:38:36.97\00:38:41.65 You will not surely die. 00:38:41.68\00:38:47.19 And then he said, God actually knows that the day you eat 00:38:47.22\00:38:55.47 of this tree, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God 00:38:55.50\00:39:01.70 knowing good and evil. 00:39:01.73\00:39:03.21 Now he's not saying you're going to be little Gods. 00:39:03.24\00:39:06.49 He saying, You are going to be God, just like He is God. 00:39:06.52\00:39:12.05 Some versions translate it, You will be like God's. 00:39:12.08\00:39:16.24 The word there is Elohim, the very same word that appears 00:39:16.27\00:39:18.86 in Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heavens 00:39:18.89\00:39:22.65 and the earth. The translation needs to be God. 00:39:22.68\00:39:24.76 You will be like God; you will be God's in yourselves. 00:39:24.79\00:39:28.43 You won't have to depend on that individual, 00:39:28.46\00:39:31.18 who claims to be God, who intimidated you saying, 00:39:31.21\00:39:34.98 Don't eat from the tree, because if you eat you're going to die. 00:39:35.01\00:39:37.93 He knows very well you're not going to die, 00:39:37.96\00:39:39.71 is what the devil is saying. 00:39:39.74\00:39:40.97 He knows that you're going to be just like Him, 00:39:41.00\00:39:43.04 and God doesn't want any rivals around. 00:39:43.07\00:39:45.03 He doesn't want any competition. 00:39:45.06\00:39:48.13 So the devil is sharing two lies: 00:39:48.16\00:39:50.98 1. You're not going to die. 00:39:51.01\00:39:52.60 2. You don't have to obey God's law, because you can be a law 00:39:52.63\00:39:57.09 unto yourself. Now let me ask you something. 00:39:57.12\00:40:02.01 Why do we worship God? 00:40:02.04\00:40:09.75 Because the Bible says that God is the what? 00:40:09.78\00:40:13.99 He's the Creator. 00:40:14.02\00:40:15.63 Notice Psalms 95 very quickly. 00:40:15.66\00:40:18.28 Psalm 95, and let's read verses 1 through 6, and we'll do this 00:40:18.31\00:40:24.04 very quickly. Psalm 95:1-6. It says: O come, let us sing 00:40:24.07\00:40:30.98 to the Lord: let us shout joyfully to the 00:40:31.01\00:40:33.27 rock of our salvation. 00:40:33.30\00:40:34.40 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, 00:40:34.43\00:40:37.19 Let us shout joyfully to him with psalms. 00:40:37.22\00:40:43.01 For the Lord is the great God, and the great King 00:40:43.04\00:40:45.48 above all gods. 00:40:45.51\00:40:46.76 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: 00:40:46.79\00:40:49.76 the heights of the hills are his also. 00:40:49.79\00:40:52.12 The sea is his, for he made it: and his hands 00:40:52.15\00:40:55.42 formed the dry land. 00:40:55.45\00:40:56.63 And now notice verse 6: O come, let us worship and bow down: 00:40:56.66\00:41:02.53 let us kneel before the Lord our maker. 00:41:02.56\00:41:09.49 Why do we worship God? 00:41:09.52\00:41:11.54 We worship God because He is our what? our Creator! 00:41:11.57\00:41:16.65 In fact, the passage that we read a few moments ago 00:41:16.68\00:41:19.47 from Revelation 14 makes this clear. 00:41:19.50\00:41:21.97 Worship the Creator, in other words. 00:41:33.72\00:41:36.49 We worship God because God is the Creator. 00:41:36.52\00:41:39.39 Notice that as creatures, we render God worship 00:41:39.42\00:41:43.87 as a superior, or One greater than us. 00:41:43.90\00:41:47.10 Now my question is this: Has God given us a sign 00:41:47.13\00:41:53.05 that He is the Creator? 00:41:53.08\00:41:54.37 Has God given us a sign that He is the Creator? 00:41:54.40\00:42:00.11 He most certainly has. 00:42:00.14\00:42:01.67 What is the sign of the Creator, of the distinction between Him 00:42:01.70\00:42:05.50 as God, and us as creatures? 00:42:05.53\00:42:07.48 It is the Holy Sabbath. 00:42:07.52\00:42:10.03 Notice Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 20:8-11. 00:42:10.06\00:42:19.43 This is the fourth commandment, which we've read before. 00:42:19.46\00:42:22.50 And I want to notice the motivation again for keeping 00:42:22.53\00:42:25.99 the Holy Sabbath. 00:42:26.03\00:42:27.06 It says in verse 8: 00:42:27.09\00:42:29.03 And then God explains why. 00:42:47.18\00:42:48.75 Why did God tell His people to keep the Sabbath? 00:43:01.62\00:43:03.93 Because the Sabbath reminds His people that He is the what? 00:43:03.96\00:43:08.38 the Creator, and they are His creatures. 00:43:08.41\00:43:13.17 The observance of the Sabbath then is a recognition 00:43:13.20\00:43:17.39 on our part that God is the great Creator. 00:43:17.42\00:43:20.60 He's superior to us. 00:43:20.63\00:43:22.31 We are His creatures. 00:43:22.34\00:43:24.71 We are the work of His hands. 00:43:24.74\00:43:26.41 Every Sabbath when I come to church I'm announcing 00:43:26.44\00:43:29.49 to the world that the great Creator God is my Father, 00:43:29.52\00:43:33.39 and I am His creation. 00:43:33.42\00:43:35.30 Now notice Isaiah 66 very quickly before we turn to speak 00:43:35.33\00:43:40.51 a little bit about New Age theories. 00:43:40.54\00:43:43.01 Isaiah 66. There are three ideas here that I want us to notice. 00:43:43.04\00:43:47.14 Isaiah 66:22, 23. 00:43:47.17\00:43:51.79 We're told here by the prophet: 00:43:51.82\00:43:54.14 Is God going to make a new heavens and a new earth? 00:43:57.47\00:43:59.80 Who do you suppose that's going to be who's going to make 00:43:59.83\00:44:02.00 a new heavens and a new earth? 00:44:02.03\00:44:03.21 Jesus, of course! 00:44:03.24\00:44:05.06 Jesus is the Creator. 00:44:05.09\00:44:06.38 Jesus is the Redeemer. 00:44:06.41\00:44:08.34 Jesus is the Judge. 00:44:08.37\00:44:10.25 Jesus is coming again. 00:44:10.28\00:44:12.81 Jesus will make a new heavens and a new earth. 00:44:12.84\00:44:15.43 The Father has given this planet to Jesus. 00:44:15.46\00:44:17.73 He's one of us! He's our brother! 00:44:17.76\00:44:20.88 He became incarnate. And so it says: 00:44:20.91\00:44:23.55 What will be the motivation for worship in the earth made new? 00:44:42.00\00:44:45.66 The fact that Jesus made what? a new heavens and a new earth. 00:44:45.69\00:44:51.00 At the beginning the Sabbath was observed to commemorate 00:44:51.03\00:44:55.16 the creation that was made at the beginning. 00:44:55.19\00:44:57.39 Now we observe the Sabbath for that reason, and for another 00:44:57.42\00:45:01.80 one, because Jesus rested in the tomb on Sabbath, 00:45:01.83\00:45:05.54 and outside His followers rested with Him. 00:45:05.57\00:45:08.45 And someday very soon, when Jesus makes a new heavens, 00:45:08.48\00:45:12.34 and a new earth, His people are going to observe the 00:45:12.37\00:45:15.90 Sabbath in eternity, according to this. 00:45:15.93\00:45:18.69 And so the Sabbath is a triple sign of the distinction between 00:45:18.72\00:45:23.96 God and His creatures. 00:45:23.99\00:45:25.61 It points to Him as our Creator, as our Redeemer, 00:45:25.64\00:45:29.08 and as our final restorer. 00:45:29.11\00:45:32.01 Now, let's talk a little bit about New Age philosophy, 00:45:32.04\00:45:38.66 which has overtaken, basically, the world, and many, 00:45:38.69\00:45:42.74 even in the Christian world. 00:45:42.78\00:45:43.97 I'm going to go through this as quickly as I can, 00:45:44.00\00:45:47.95 but it's very, very important. 00:45:47.98\00:45:50.42 For New Age philosophers God is an impersonal, immaterial, 00:45:50.45\00:45:58.31 cosmic force of energy that permeates the entire universe. 00:45:58.34\00:46:05.40 God is not a person in New Age theology who lives 00:46:05.43\00:46:11.87 in a place called heaven. 00:46:11.90\00:46:13.25 He is not a loving Father who cares for His creatures. 00:46:13.28\00:46:17.78 You see, in New Age theology, which is philosophically called 00:46:17.81\00:46:23.37 Pantheism, the idea that God is everything, 00:46:23.40\00:46:27.04 and everything is God. 00:46:27.07\00:46:28.46 The idea is that the universe is God. 00:46:28.49\00:46:31.83 God is indistinguishable from the universe, because God 00:46:31.86\00:46:37.16 is the universe, and the universe is God. 00:46:37.19\00:46:40.63 In other words, God is imminent in nature. 00:46:40.67\00:46:44.11 He's within nature. 00:46:44.14\00:46:45.56 And because man is part of nature, and nature is God, 00:46:45.59\00:46:51.23 man ultimately is what? is God. 00:46:51.27\00:46:55.41 There is no distinction between creator and creature. 00:46:55.45\00:46:59.90 You see, in New Age theology, in Pantheism, 00:46:59.93\00:47:03.97 God is not separate or distinct, or independent, or transcendent 00:47:04.00\00:47:09.84 from His creation, God is creation. 00:47:09.87\00:47:13.51 According to New Age philosophy the universe has eternally been 00:47:13.54\00:47:19.90 creating itself by the process of evolution. 00:47:19.93\00:47:23.86 There's no place for a personal Creator God, who loves, 00:47:23.90\00:47:28.47 who's distinct from His creatures, who transcends 00:47:28.50\00:47:31.71 His creation, because God is creation. 00:47:31.74\00:47:35.24 Now this must mean that if the universe is God, and man is part 00:47:35.28\00:47:41.94 of the universe, man is God, and because God is immortal, 00:47:41.98\00:47:46.31 man must be also what? 00:47:46.34\00:47:48.41 Man must have inherent life within himself; 00:47:48.45\00:47:52.65 he must be immortal. 00:47:52.68\00:47:54.08 Because if the universe is God, and God is immortal, 00:47:54.11\00:47:57.27 and man is part of the universe, man is immortal 00:47:57.30\00:48:00.45 as well as being God. 00:48:00.49\00:48:02.09 Where did these ideas come from? 00:48:02.12\00:48:05.04 They came directly from the garden of Eden. 00:48:05.07\00:48:08.51 Now allow me to read you a statement from R. M. Buck. 00:48:08.55\00:48:12.34 This is a New Ager. 00:48:12.37\00:48:15.07 His book is Cosmic Consciousness, Page 14. He says: 00:48:15.10\00:48:18.43 Of the universe. 00:48:19.53\00:48:21.66 In other words, the universe is entirely immaterial. 00:48:35.17\00:48:37.65 Now this has serious implications, because if the 00:49:00.31\00:49:05.69 universe, if creation is God, the New Ager, you know, 00:49:05.72\00:49:11.07 is very much into taking care of the ecology, 00:49:11.10\00:49:15.18 the animal kingdom, the air, and the rivers, and so on. 00:49:15.21\00:49:21.41 But it's for the wrong reason. 00:49:21.44\00:49:22.90 You see, we believe we're supposed to take care of 00:49:22.93\00:49:25.45 creation because it was made by God. 00:49:25.48\00:49:27.27 The New Ager believes that nature, you're supposed to 00:49:27.30\00:49:29.71 take care of it because it is God! 00:49:29.75\00:49:31.41 Christians should be better ecologists than the New Agers, 00:49:31.44\00:49:36.31 but for a different reason. 00:49:36.35\00:49:38.56 Not because nature is God, but because nature is God's. 00:49:38.59\00:49:43.03 In other words, nature belongs to God. 00:49:43.07\00:49:45.50 Now let me ask you, if I am God, whose law am I supposed to keep? 00:49:45.53\00:49:49.73 Whose? My own! 00:49:49.77\00:49:54.78 After all, what makes your law greater than mine, 00:49:54.81\00:49:57.79 if we're both God in this scheme? 00:49:57.82\00:50:01.09 Are you following me or not? 00:50:01.13\00:50:02.17 So New Agers talk about values clarification. 00:50:02.21\00:50:05.36 They say everybody has values within themselves. 00:50:05.40\00:50:08.52 All they have to do is discover the values 00:50:08.55\00:50:11.13 that they need to live by. 00:50:11.17\00:50:12.20 Therefore they say, It doesn't matter if one wants to 00:50:12.23\00:50:15.02 live a homosexual lifestyle, another wants to live a 00:50:15.05\00:50:17.88 heterosexual lifestyle. 00:50:17.91\00:50:19.30 If we're both God, what makes you think that your lifestyle 00:50:19.33\00:50:22.39 is better than his, or better than hers? 00:50:22.42\00:50:25.49 In other words, man becomes autonomous. 00:50:25.52\00:50:28.32 Do you know what the word autonomous means? 00:50:28.35\00:50:31.08 It comes from two Greek words: altos, which means self, 00:50:31.12\00:50:35.75 and nomos, law, which means that you are 00:50:35.79\00:50:38.78 a law unto yourself. 00:50:38.81\00:50:40.86 Because if you are God, according to this idea, 00:50:40.89\00:50:45.24 then whose law are you accountable to, 00:50:45.27\00:50:48.16 if you're accountable to God's law? 00:50:48.19\00:50:50.66 You're accountable only to whom? 00:50:50.70\00:50:53.13 You're accountable only to yourself. 00:50:53.16\00:50:56.51 Allow me to read you a statement from the book, 00:50:56.55\00:51:00.20 A Crash Course On the New Age, Page 119. 00:51:00.23\00:51:04.00 This is a very good book, by the way. The author says: 00:51:04.03\00:51:07.92 So what happens with the law of God in New Age theology? 00:51:39.96\00:51:43.60 You become a law unto yourself. 00:51:43.63\00:51:47.07 What happens with the personal, loving Creator? 00:51:47.10\00:51:50.93 There is no such thing, because you are what? God. 00:51:50.96\00:51:54.76 What happens with the place where God lives in heaven? 00:51:54.79\00:51:58.32 No such thing, because God is everywhere! 00:51:58.35\00:52:01.29 He is in everything! 00:52:01.33\00:52:02.90 He is in everyone, whether they be good, 00:52:02.93\00:52:05.50 or whether they be evil. 00:52:05.53\00:52:06.81 Therefore in New Age theology, there is no such thing as sin. 00:52:06.84\00:52:13.26 And if there is no sin, there must not be any what? 00:52:17.48\00:52:22.72 any law, but also no what? no death. 00:52:22.76\00:52:27.31 Because if you are God, and God is immortal, you are what? 00:52:27.34\00:52:33.17 You are immortal. 00:52:33.20\00:52:34.92 And then the question comes up. 00:52:34.95\00:52:37.71 Who will you be accountable before? 00:52:37.74\00:52:40.46 Are you understanding what I'm saying? 00:52:43.67\00:52:46.32 Who will you have to render an account to? 00:52:46.36\00:52:48.97 Only to yourself, because according to this idea, 00:52:49.00\00:52:54.59 everything is God. 00:52:54.63\00:52:55.79 You are God, so all you have to do is render 00:52:55.83\00:52:58.73 an account to yourself. 00:52:58.77\00:53:00.32 Now I'll tell you, if I have to judge myself, 00:53:00.36\00:53:02.35 I'm going to come out pretty well. 00:53:02.39\00:53:04.18 Ya, think I'm going to condemn myself? Yeah right! 00:53:07.82\00:53:11.62 By the way, from New Agers, there's no need for 00:53:11.66\00:53:15.39 a Creator God to come to this world, and take the place 00:53:15.42\00:53:18.44 of His creatures; to die the death that they should die. 00:53:18.47\00:53:22.04 After all, death doesn't exist! 00:53:22.08\00:53:23.80 For the New Ager, salvation means to harness that Godhood 00:53:26.24\00:53:31.18 that you have inside, and somehow tap into it, 00:53:31.21\00:53:34.91 so that you can discover your Godhood. 00:53:34.94\00:53:36.72 And they say that whenever humanity discovers the divine 00:53:36.75\00:53:40.69 spark of Godhood within, then society will regenerate 00:53:40.73\00:53:44.63 itself. The world will become perfect. 00:53:44.67\00:53:46.77 The world will become beautiful. 00:53:46.80\00:53:48.44 And we'll enter what is called the Age of Aquarius. 00:53:48.47\00:53:52.78 Are you seeing the difference between these two world views? 00:53:54.52\00:53:57.61 So Christians who say, I'm immortal. 00:53:59.89\00:54:01.78 Christians don't have to keep the law, 00:54:04.00\00:54:05.95 Jesus kept the law in my place, are on very dangerous ground. 00:54:05.98\00:54:12.29 They might not be New Agers, but the end result 00:54:12.33\00:54:17.74 is basically the same. 00:54:18.12\00:54:19.15 By the way, do you know that New Agers say 00:54:19.18\00:54:20.87 that you can heal yourself? 00:54:21.16\00:54:23.92 You know they're much into holistic medicine, so called, 00:54:23.95\00:54:26.94 because they believe that if you're God you can harness 00:54:26.97\00:54:29.54 your energies to heal your own body. 00:54:29.57\00:54:31.19 I guess that we won't need to pray anymore to God to heal us. 00:54:31.22\00:54:34.77 No need for prayer in this scheme. 00:54:34.80\00:54:37.24 There's no need for the second coming of Jesus. 00:54:37.27\00:54:39.70 I mean if humanity is regenerating itself, 00:54:39.74\00:54:43.44 and everybody eventually will discover the Godhood within, 00:54:43.47\00:54:46.65 then society is going to become perfect without Jesus 00:54:46.68\00:54:51.34 coming to this world to destroy those who disobey His law, 00:54:51.37\00:54:55.77 and to establish a perfect society. 00:54:55.80\00:54:57.69 In fact, in New Age theology there's no 00:55:01.42\00:55:04.78 reason for the Sabbath. 00:55:04.82\00:55:05.85 How can you have one day which is holier than the others 00:55:05.88\00:55:11.89 if everything in the universe is God? 00:55:11.92\00:55:14.33 Everything is equally holy. 00:55:14.36\00:55:15.77 There's no difference between the holy and the common. 00:55:15.81\00:55:18.01 So when a person sins it is God who is sinning. 00:55:18.04\00:55:20.66 You're not with me are you? 00:55:20.70\00:55:23.14 You're awful quiet tonight. 00:55:23.18\00:55:25.59 See, there's no sin, there's no death, you're God, 00:55:25.62\00:55:32.34 there's no prayer, there's no redemption, there's no second 00:55:32.37\00:55:35.74 coming, there's no law that you are accountable to. 00:55:35.77\00:55:40.59 These theories totally sweep away Christianity. 00:55:40.62\00:55:47.67 Allow me to read you one statement 00:55:47.71\00:55:49.18 as we bring this to a close. 00:55:49.21\00:55:50.68 This is from the book, Education, pages 227, 228. 00:55:50.71\00:55:58.05 The author is right on target. 00:55:58.08\00:56:00.64 This breathes what Lucifer said in heaven, 00:56:47.35\00:56:52.34 I will be like the Most High. 00:56:52.37\00:56:54.36 You will be like Gods! 00:56:54.39\00:56:56.92 You will not surely die! 00:56:56.96\00:56:59.42 And, of course, it totally obliterates the Sabbath. 00:56:59.46\00:57:03.30 God has given us the Sabbath folks, as a sign to protect 00:57:03.34\00:57:07.72 us from these theories. 00:57:07.75\00:57:08.96 Because it's the one sign that makes a clear distinction 00:57:08.99\00:57:13.00 between the Creator, and His creatures. 00:57:13.03\00:57:15.53 And every time that we keep the Sabbath, we're announcing 00:57:15.56\00:57:18.63 to the world that we are creatures, and we are followers 00:57:18.66\00:57:22.78 of the great Creator God. 00:57:22.81\00:57:25.64
