Shall we pray? Father, in heaven, as we begin this very, 00:01:15.42\00:01:19.17 important study from Your Holy Word, we ask that You will give 00:01:19.20\00:01:23.34 us understanding, and not only understanding, but that You will 00:01:23.38\00:01:27.49 give us the willingness to listen to Your voice, 00:01:27.52\00:01:30.61 and to put into practice that which we learned 00:01:30.65\00:01:33.65 from Your Holy Word. 00:01:33.68\00:01:34.71 We ask for the guidance of Your Spirit, and we ask for a 00:01:34.74\00:01:39.85 submissive and tender heart. 00:01:39.88\00:01:41.26 We thank You, Lord for hearing our prayer for we ask it in 00:01:41.29\00:01:44.79 Jesus' name, Amen. 00:01:44.82\00:01:47.50 I'd like us to begin our study today at the book of 00:01:47.53\00:01:52.33 Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 20:8-11. 00:01:52.36\00:02:00.37 This is the fourth commandment of the law of God. 00:02:00.40\00:02:04.44 The law which God wrote with His own finger 00:02:04.47\00:02:08.11 on tables of stone, with, actually, flames of fire, 00:02:08.15\00:02:13.56 according to scripture. 00:02:13.59\00:02:14.80 It says here: 00:02:14.84\00:02:16.71 In it you shall do no work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, 00:02:29.23\00:02:35.38 nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, 00:02:35.42\00:02:41.53 nor your stranger who is within your gates:... 00:02:41.57\00:02:45.42 And then we have the reason why God gave this commandment. 00:02:45.45\00:02:49.14 Notice verse 11. It says: 00:02:49.17\00:02:52.59 That is He made it holy. 00:03:12.06\00:03:14.28 Now there are two things that I want us to notice 00:03:14.32\00:03:16.90 as we begin our study. 00:03:16.93\00:03:18.26 First of all, the reason for the observance of this commandment 00:03:18.30\00:03:23.70 is creation. It says that God gave us this commandment because 00:03:23.73\00:03:29.10 in six days He made the heavens, the earth, the seas, 00:03:29.13\00:03:32.85 and all that is in them, and He rested the seventh day. 00:03:32.88\00:03:37.67 So this commandment is actually a creation ordinance. 00:03:37.71\00:03:42.47 The second thing that I want us to notice about this verse 00:03:42.50\00:03:46.00 is that it clearly tells us that God did three things 00:03:46.03\00:03:49.78 with the Sabbath. 00:03:49.81\00:03:51.14 First of all, we are told that He rested. 00:03:51.17\00:03:54.21 And I want you to remember these words: He rested. 00:03:54.24\00:03:56.60 Secondly, He blessed the Sabbath. 00:03:56.64\00:03:59.90 And in the third place, we find that God hallowed it, 00:03:59.94\00:04:04.12 or sanctified it; He made it Holy. 00:04:04.15\00:04:06.81 So three ideas: resting, blessing, and hallowing. 00:04:06.84\00:04:13.47 And it points us back to creation. 00:04:13.50\00:04:16.10 Now if this commandment points us back to creation, 00:04:16.13\00:04:19.37 where do you suppose would be a good place 00:04:19.40\00:04:21.06 to go to find out why God gave it? 00:04:21.09\00:04:23.05 I think it would be a good idea for us to go back 00:04:23.09\00:04:26.88 to the book of Genesis, because that's where 00:04:26.92\00:04:29.48 we find creation described. 00:04:29.51\00:04:31.38 This commandment sends us back to Genesis. 00:04:31.41\00:04:34.71 So let's go back to Genesis. 00:04:34.74\00:04:36.71 We have a couple of verses that I'm going to refer to. 00:04:36.74\00:04:38.99 I'm not going to read them, but I'm going to refer to them, 00:04:39.03\00:04:42.32 because we've mentioned them before. 00:04:42.36\00:04:43.85 First of all we have Genesis 1:1. 00:04:44.43\00:04:46.49 I don't think I even have to turn in my Bible to that one. 00:04:46.52\00:04:50.46 It says: In the beginning God created 00:04:50.50\00:04:53.39 the heavens and the earth. 00:04:53.42\00:04:54.80 We have three ideas: in the beginning, God, 00:04:54.83\00:04:59.14 created heaven and earth. 00:04:59.18\00:05:01.06 When we go to John 1:1-3 we find who that creator was. 00:05:01.10\00:05:07.45 It says very clearly there: In the beginning,... 00:05:07.49\00:05:12.22 See, the same expression. 00:05:12.25\00:05:13.80 In the beginning was the Word. 00:05:13.84\00:05:16.24 The Word was God. 00:05:16.28\00:05:18.27 And then verse 3 tells us that all things were made by Him; 00:05:18.30\00:05:23.67 and without Him nothing was made that was made. 00:05:23.70\00:05:28.37 So as we compare Genesis 1:1, with John 1:1-3, 00:05:28.41\00:05:33.01 there's no doubt whatsoever that the Creator of Genesis 00:05:33.04\00:05:38.23 was none other than whom? 00:05:38.26\00:05:40.36 It was none other than Jesus Christ. 00:05:40.39\00:05:42.52 So, if at the beginning Jesus created the Sabbath, 00:05:42.56\00:05:46.21 the Sabbath is the day of Jesus, because Jesus is the Creator, 00:05:46.24\00:05:52.24 according to scripture. 00:05:52.27\00:05:53.60 Now let's go back to Genesis 1 and discover what condition 00:05:53.64\00:05:59.51 this world was in before Jesus actually created it. 00:05:59.55\00:06:05.27 Genesis 1:1, 2: In the beginning God,... 00:06:05.30\00:06:12.19 That's Jesus; we've already seen from John 1. 00:06:12.22\00:06:14.70 In the beginning God created the heaven's and the earth. 00:06:14.73\00:06:18.06 And now comes the verse I want to underline. 00:06:18.09\00:06:20.18 How many problems did the earth have? two. 00:06:24.24\00:06:29.77 And the Spirit of God was hovering over 00:06:36.71\00:06:38.77 the face of the waters. 00:06:38.80\00:06:39.92 Now you notice that the planet before Jesus put it in order, 00:06:39.95\00:06:46.00 before He actually performed the work of creation of the 00:06:46.03\00:06:48.93 six days of creation week, we find that the earth was without 00:06:48.96\00:06:53.64 form and void. Now what does that mean, 00:06:53.67\00:06:55.53 without form and void? 00:06:55.56\00:06:56.63 Well, I like the translation in Spanish better, 00:06:56.66\00:07:00.18 because it's closer to what the original means. 00:07:00.36\00:07:02.67 In Spanish it says: Desordenada y Vacia. 00:07:02.70\00:07:07.53 What does Desordenada mean? 00:07:07.56\00:07:10.18 There's some of you who know Spanish. 00:07:10.21\00:07:12.23 It means in a disorderly state. 00:07:12.26\00:07:14.78 And what does Vacia mean? 00:07:14.81\00:07:17.89 It means empty. In other words, there were two problems 00:07:17.92\00:07:21.82 with the planet. It was in a disorderly state, 00:07:21.85\00:07:24.76 and it was empty. Now what the Bible means by a disorderly 00:07:24.79\00:07:29.33 state is that the planet, as it was, could not sustain life. 00:07:29.36\00:07:34.73 In other words, the planet was in a disorganized state. 00:07:36.32\00:07:39.21 It could not sustain life. 00:07:39.24\00:07:40.87 And so God, first of all, had to place the planet in order 00:07:40.90\00:07:45.05 to resolve the first problem, and then He had to fill it 00:07:45.08\00:07:49.62 to resolve the second problem. 00:07:49.65\00:07:52.09 And it's interesting, as we examine the story of creation, 00:07:52.12\00:07:56.01 that the first three days of creation week, 00:07:56.04\00:07:59.19 Jesus puts the planet in order. 00:07:59.22\00:08:02.12 And the last three days of creation week 00:08:02.15\00:08:05.41 He fills the planet with life. 00:08:05.44\00:08:08.74 Now, have you ever noticed that there was a progression 00:08:08.77\00:08:12.94 in the story of creation? 00:08:12.97\00:08:15.21 First of all God created inanimate things; 00:08:15.24\00:08:18.73 things that were not alive. 00:08:18.76\00:08:20.57 He created light, He created the firmament, 00:08:20.60\00:08:23.59 and He made the dry land. 00:08:23.62\00:08:25.34 None of those are conscious, or living. 00:08:25.37\00:08:27.84 Then he proceeded to create the sun, the moon, and the stars. 00:08:27.87\00:08:32.91 And then we find God creating vegetation, 00:08:32.94\00:08:38.85 and we find Him creating birds, and we find Him creating fish, 00:08:38.88\00:08:44.31 and we find Him creating human beings. 00:08:44.34\00:08:47.91 Now what Jesus did, was during the first three days of 00:08:47.94\00:08:51.43 creation, to prepare the planet for the living things 00:08:51.46\00:08:55.37 that He was going to fill the planet with 00:08:55.40\00:08:58.14 on the last three days. 00:08:58.17\00:08:59.69 Now let's review what Jesus did during creation week. 00:08:59.72\00:09:03.29 First Day: Jesus says, Let there be light, and there was light. 00:09:03.32\00:09:09.61 Second Day: Let there be the firmament. 00:09:09.64\00:09:14.39 And as He speaks the firmament appears. 00:09:14.42\00:09:17.74 By the way, that's the layer of oxygen. 00:09:17.77\00:09:19.62 Can any living thing survive without light? No. 00:09:19.65\00:09:23.98 Can any living thing survive without oxygen? Of course not. 00:09:24.02\00:09:28.02 And God knows that. 00:09:28.05\00:09:29.79 Some people say, Why didn't God create man first 00:09:29.82\00:09:32.22 if man was the most important thing? 00:09:32.25\00:09:33.79 Because he would have died without having any 00:09:33.82\00:09:36.20 oxygen to breathe. 00:09:36.23\00:09:37.26 See, God is pretty smart! 00:09:37.29\00:09:39.15 The first three days He organizes the planet, 00:09:39.18\00:09:42.52 so that then He can fill the planet afterwards. 00:09:42.55\00:09:45.71 And so the third day God said, Let the dry land appear, 00:09:45.74\00:09:49.48 because He knows that human beings are going to 00:09:49.51\00:09:51.38 live on the land. Hello! 00:09:51.41\00:09:52.82 He knows that the land animals are going to have 00:09:52.85\00:09:56.06 to live on the earth. 00:09:56.09\00:09:57.12 He knows that on the earth there are going to have to be 00:09:57.15\00:09:58.95 trees and plants, and so on the third day He makes the land 00:09:58.98\00:10:02.62 appear, and then He creates the vegetation. 00:10:02.65\00:10:06.50 And at the end of the third day He looks at what He has done, 00:10:06.53\00:10:11.21 and He says, It's good! 00:10:11.24\00:10:12.89 The fourth day He now fills the heavens with heavenly bodies; 00:10:12.92\00:10:17.81 with the sun, the moon, and the stars. 00:10:17.84\00:10:19.82 And at the end of the fourth day He looks upon what He has done, 00:10:19.85\00:10:22.62 and Jesus says, It's good! 00:10:22.65\00:10:24.60 Then comes the fifth day. 00:10:24.63\00:10:26.34 The waters are empty. 00:10:26.37\00:10:27.91 In the daytime the sky's are empty. 00:10:27.94\00:10:30.97 There's no songs of birds. 00:10:31.00\00:10:32.37 And so on the fifth day Jesus says, Let the waters produce 00:10:32.40\00:10:37.54 living creatures. And suddenly the waters are filled with 00:10:37.57\00:10:42.02 all sorts of living fish, and marine animals. 00:10:42.05\00:10:46.57 And then Jesus says on the fifth day, Let there be in the sky 00:10:46.60\00:10:50.11 birds. And suddenly the air is filled with birds 00:10:50.14\00:10:54.09 singing their songs. 00:10:54.12\00:10:56.09 Of course, at this point they didn't have anybody to sing 00:10:56.12\00:10:58.04 their songs to, but God is going to work on that. 00:10:58.07\00:11:00.83 Now, do you notice that at the end of the fifth day God looks 00:11:00.86\00:11:04.39 upon what He's made, Jesus does, and He sees that it is good. 00:11:04.42\00:11:09.89 Now comes the sixth day. 00:11:09.92\00:11:11.93 Do you know that on the sixth day Jesus worked more 00:11:11.96\00:11:16.23 than on any other day? 00:11:16.26\00:11:17.56 Allow me to review what happened on the sixth day of creation. 00:11:17.59\00:11:22.46 First of all, if you read the story in Genesis 2... 00:11:22.49\00:11:28.27 By the way, Genesis 2 is an amplification of certain 00:11:28.30\00:11:32.38 elements of chapter 1. 00:11:32.41\00:11:33.58 There were not two creations. 00:11:33.61\00:11:35.71 There's not the creation of Genesis 1, and the creation of 00:11:35.74\00:11:38.49 Genesis 2. Genesis 2 amplifies certain details that are not 00:11:38.52\00:11:42.76 contained in Genesis 1, particularly how the woman 00:11:42.79\00:11:47.15 who was created, how man was created, and amplifies also 00:11:47.18\00:11:52.47 several aspects about the tree of life, and the tree of the 00:11:52.50\00:11:55.26 knowledge of good and evil. 00:11:55.29\00:11:56.61 Now the first thing that Jesus made on the sixth day 00:11:56.64\00:12:00.22 were the land animals. 00:12:00.25\00:12:01.41 You can find that in Genesis 1: 25 and following. 00:12:01.44\00:12:08.38 Secondly He made man. 00:12:08.41\00:12:10.92 Have you ever noticed that when He made man He did not speak him 00:12:10.95\00:12:14.90 into existence, like He spoke everything else into existence? 00:12:14.93\00:12:17.91 He gave him the personal touch. 00:12:17.94\00:12:19.87 He took clay, He took dust, and He formed man 00:12:19.90\00:12:24.46 out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils 00:12:24.49\00:12:27.72 the breath of life. And the Bible says that man became 00:12:27.75\00:12:30.57 a living soul. Now I'd like to ask you, Do you suppose that 00:12:30.60\00:12:34.96 when Jesus created Adam, and suddenly Adam wakes up, 00:12:34.99\00:12:41.03 if we can use the expression, and he's suddenly conscious. 00:12:41.06\00:12:45.69 He wasn't there, and now suddenly he's there. 00:12:45.72\00:12:49.41 Do you suppose that Adam was somewhat surprised? 00:12:49.44\00:12:52.27 Do you suppose Adam asked, Where did I come from? 00:12:52.30\00:12:56.33 What am I doing here? 00:12:56.36\00:12:58.81 Where am I going? He must have had questions, because he wasn't 00:12:58.84\00:13:04.08 there, and now suddenly he's there. 00:13:04.11\00:13:06.26 Adam is surprised, but God does not explain to Adam, 00:13:06.29\00:13:10.66 at that moment, the source of His existence. 00:13:10.69\00:13:14.20 In fact, we find God saying after He created man, 00:13:14.23\00:13:20.13 that there's something in creation week that is not good. 00:13:20.16\00:13:22.94 Have you noticed that at the end of every week it says, 00:13:22.97\00:13:25.06 it was good? It was good, it was good, it was good. 00:13:25.09\00:13:27.81 When it gets to the part of the sixth day where God creates 00:13:27.84\00:13:31.59 man, He looks at Adam and He says, there is something here 00:13:31.62\00:13:34.64 that is not good. It is not good that man should be alone. 00:13:34.67\00:13:38.97 I will make him a helpmeet; a helper like unto him. 00:13:39.00\00:13:44.61 And so the Bible says that Jesus told Adam to name all of the 00:13:44.64\00:13:50.77 animals that He had created. 00:13:50.80\00:13:52.27 Now that's going to take more than five minutes. 00:13:52.30\00:13:54.34 That's going to take the better part of the sixth day. 00:13:54.37\00:13:56.76 And so Adam, and there's a purpose in this. 00:13:56.79\00:13:58.89 Adam starts naming all of the animals. 00:13:58.92\00:14:00.98 And as he names the animals, he sees that each one of them 00:14:01.01\00:14:03.88 has a mate, but he doesn't have a mate. 00:14:03.91\00:14:05.67 God wanted him to feel lonely. 00:14:05.70\00:14:08.15 And now in his loneliness, he's craving for a mate 00:14:08.18\00:14:13.31 like the animals have a mate. 00:14:13.34\00:14:14.83 And the Bible says that Jesus says it's not good for Adam 00:14:14.86\00:14:19.99 to be alone. And so you have the first anesthesia of human 00:14:20.03\00:14:23.66 history, general anesthesia, and Adam is put to sleep. 00:14:23.70\00:14:28.64 And then you have the first surgery of human history. 00:14:28.67\00:14:32.22 The Bible says that God, Jesus opened up Adam's side, 00:14:32.25\00:14:37.43 and He took out one of Adam's ribs. 00:14:37.46\00:14:40.79 And out of the rib He made a woman. 00:14:40.82\00:14:44.64 And now suddenly, you can imagine Adam shaking off 00:14:44.67\00:14:49.05 the effects of the anesthesia. 00:14:49.08\00:14:50.93 And, you know, he was sleeping. 00:14:50.96\00:14:51.99 He didn't know what was going on. 00:14:54.02\00:14:55.23 And then suddenly he wakes up and here comes Jesus, 00:14:55.26\00:14:59.59 walking along with Eve next to His side, 00:14:59.62\00:15:03.68 because the Bible says that God brought Eve to Adam. 00:15:03.71\00:15:06.57 See, you don't go out hunting for a mate. 00:15:06.60\00:15:10.05 God brings the mate to you. 00:15:10.08\00:15:12.45 If you go hunting you might run into trouble. 00:15:12.48\00:15:15.26 And so God, Jesus brings Eve to Adam. 00:15:15.29\00:15:21.89 And I can just only imagine somewhat what Adam 00:15:21.92\00:15:26.88 must have said. He must have said, Wow! 00:15:26.91\00:15:30.29 Where did you come from? 00:15:30.32\00:15:32.39 You're beautiful! You're just like me! 00:15:32.42\00:15:35.86 You stand erect. And you're able to communicate; 00:15:35.89\00:15:40.50 you're able to talk. 00:15:40.53\00:15:41.56 How wonderful! Where did you come from? 00:15:41.59\00:15:44.09 By the way, have you noticed that not once in all of this 00:15:44.12\00:15:50.19 creation story did Adam or Eve see God create anything? 00:15:50.22\00:15:54.97 This is amazing! Even when He created Eve, 00:15:55.00\00:15:59.48 He put Adam to sleep. 00:15:59.51\00:16:00.71 In other words, the only proof, if you can speak of proof, 00:16:00.74\00:16:05.19 that Adam and Eve had that God was their Creator, was what? 00:16:05.22\00:16:09.14 The fact that God told them that He was their Creator. 00:16:09.17\00:16:14.20 They had no scientific proof. 00:16:14.23\00:16:16.49 They had no empirical proof. 00:16:16.52\00:16:18.01 They had no historical proof. 00:16:18.04\00:16:19.73 They had no proof whatsoever. 00:16:19.76\00:16:21.59 The only proof, or evidence, if you please, that they had 00:16:21.62\00:16:25.86 that Jesus was their Creator, is the fact that Jesus told 00:16:25.89\00:16:29.88 them that He was their Creator. 00:16:29.91\00:16:32.00 They had to accept it by faith. 00:16:32.03\00:16:35.06 They had to trust God's Word. 00:16:35.09\00:16:37.20 By the way, do you know that the whole controversy in human 00:16:37.23\00:16:40.49 history is over God's Word. 00:16:40.52\00:16:41.97 You can boil everything down to God's Word. 00:16:44.35\00:16:47.36 We studied that in our last lecture. 00:16:47.39\00:16:49.80 What the devil is trying to do in Genesis 3 is shake the trust 00:16:49.83\00:16:54.44 of Adam and Eve in God's Word. 00:16:54.47\00:16:56.27 And we notice that He uses five methods: 00:16:56.30\00:16:58.92 First method, signs and wonders. 00:16:58.95\00:17:01.14 You know, accept the sign and the wonder, instead of what I've 00:17:01.17\00:17:03.28 said. The second method is for the devil to actually change 00:17:03.31\00:17:09.64 God's Word. God has said, You can't eat of any tree 00:17:09.67\00:17:12.54 of the garden, to get Eve to exaggerate God's Word. 00:17:12.57\00:17:16.15 God told us not to touch it. 00:17:16.18\00:17:17.75 And later on we'll find that the devil will actually quote 00:17:17.78\00:17:22.36 God's Word correctly, but he'll leave certain portions out, 00:17:22.39\00:17:24.99 like in Psalm 91. See, he quoted Psalm 91 correctly, but he left 00:17:25.02\00:17:31.13 a portion of it out. 00:17:31.16\00:17:32.19 And so, if you leave a portion out, it can leave a totally 00:17:32.22\00:17:36.47 different, and wrong impression. 00:17:36.50\00:17:38.31 And then, of course, we find that the devil tried to get Adam 00:17:38.34\00:17:40.81 and Eve to follow their senses. 00:17:40.84\00:17:42.67 He tried to get Adam and Eve to follow their reasoning powers. 00:17:42.70\00:17:45.57 And he used Eve, a person, to tempt Adam. 00:17:45.60\00:17:48.88 So the devil uses five methods to try and get God's people 00:17:48.91\00:17:53.47 to disobey His clear, explicit, simple Word. 00:17:53.50\00:17:58.89 Adam and Eve were supposed to accept that Jesus was their 00:17:58.92\00:18:03.19 Creator, because Jesus told them that He was their Creator. 00:18:03.22\00:18:07.41 After all, there could have been other explanations, right? 00:18:07.44\00:18:10.71 Couldn't they have come into existence by a big bang? 00:18:10.74\00:18:14.41 I suppose so! Couldn't they have come into existence 00:18:14.44\00:18:17.27 by spontaneous generation? I suppose so. 00:18:17.30\00:18:19.95 And that's what the devil wanted Eve to believe. 00:18:19.98\00:18:22.11 He says, Oh, this story of God that He's your Creator, 00:18:22.14\00:18:25.66 and that when you eat from the tree you're going to die. 00:18:25.69\00:18:27.81 Oh, come on! You actually believe that? 00:18:27.84\00:18:30.68 You trust that? Oh, come on now! 00:18:30.71\00:18:33.57 You see, what God knows is that if you eat from that tree, 00:18:33.60\00:18:37.14 you're going to be just like Him. 00:18:37.17\00:18:38.99 You're going to be other gods around, and God doesn't want 00:18:39.02\00:18:41.61 other gods around. He's the only one who wants to be God, 00:18:41.64\00:18:44.52 and so He intimidates you into thinking that if you eat, 00:18:44.55\00:18:47.58 you're going to die. 00:18:47.61\00:18:48.64 You're not going to die, you're going to be just like Him. 00:18:48.67\00:18:51.07 And God doesn't want any rivals. 00:18:51.10\00:18:53.25 Do you see what this temptation really involves? 00:18:53.28\00:18:55.98 It's much more serious than what most people think. 00:18:56.01\00:18:59.82 Now we need to take a look at Genesis 2:2, 3, Genesis 2:2, 3. 00:18:59.85\00:19:09.63 Do you remember the three things that are mentioned in Exodus 20? 00:19:09.66\00:19:13.99 The fourth commandment of the law of God? 00:19:14.02\00:19:15.44 The three ideas? What did God do with the Sabbath? 00:19:15.47\00:19:17.91 He what? He rested. 00:19:17.94\00:19:19.79 Secondly He blessed. 00:19:19.82\00:19:21.51 And then the third, He sanctified, or made Holy. 00:19:21.54\00:19:24.47 Now is the Sabbath of Genesis the same Sabbath of Exodus 20? 00:19:24.50\00:19:28.60 Do you think so? 00:19:28.63\00:19:29.66 Notice Genesis 2:2, 3, Genesis 2:2, 3. It says: 00:19:29.69\00:19:39.79 Question: did Jesus in Genesis, do the very three things that 00:19:59.54\00:20:04.28 are mentioned in the fourth commandment of the law of God? 00:20:04.31\00:20:06.70 Did He rest? Yes. Did He bless? Yes. 00:20:06.73\00:20:10.61 Did He make holy or sanctified? Yes. 00:20:10.64\00:20:13.12 Is the fourth commandment referring to the same Sabbath 00:20:13.15\00:20:16.97 that was made at the beginning? 00:20:17.00\00:20:18.10 Absolutely. There's no doubt whatsoever. 00:20:18.13\00:20:20.89 The Sabbath is a creation ordinance. 00:20:20.92\00:20:24.56 Now let me ask you, do you think that God had to bless 00:20:24.59\00:20:28.02 the Sabbath for Himself? 00:20:28.05\00:20:29.24 Listen folks, God is the source of all blessing. 00:20:29.27\00:20:32.66 Why would He have to bless a day for Himself? 00:20:32.69\00:20:34.67 He's infusing the day with a blessing not for Himself, 00:20:34.70\00:20:39.14 but for others. Everything that God blesses is for others 00:20:39.17\00:20:42.68 in scripture. Never for Himself. 00:20:42.71\00:20:44.91 So God blessed the seventh day Sabbath. 00:20:44.94\00:20:47.75 He infused the day with life, health, and prosperity, 00:20:47.78\00:20:52.58 because anytime you find the word blessing in scripture, 00:20:52.61\00:20:55.09 it has to do with life, with abundance, with prosperity, 00:20:55.12\00:20:58.65 with that which is good. 00:20:58.68\00:21:00.68 Did God have to make a day holy for Himself? 00:21:00.71\00:21:04.84 He says, Oh, I'm going to make a holy day for Myself. 00:21:04.87\00:21:07.16 Listen, for God all days are holy, because everything 00:21:07.19\00:21:10.25 connected with God is Holy. 00:21:10.28\00:21:12.27 And so God didn't have to set apart a day, a Holy day, 00:21:12.30\00:21:15.68 for Himself. Did God really need to rest, in fact? 00:21:15.71\00:21:19.68 The fact is that we're going to notice in a few moments that 00:21:19.71\00:21:22.82 God did not have to rest. 00:21:22.85\00:21:24.28 Jesus did not have to rest. 00:21:24.31\00:21:25.85 I mean, how much rest do you need after saying, 00:21:25.88\00:21:28.50 Let there be light? 00:21:28.53\00:21:29.56 Let there be the firmament. 00:21:29.59\00:21:31.73 Let there be dry land. 00:21:31.76\00:21:33.72 Let there be trees, and plants, and grass. 00:21:33.75\00:21:38.22 Let there the be the sun, the moon, and the stars. 00:21:38.25\00:21:40.88 Let there be fish. 00:21:40.91\00:21:42.44 Let there be birds. 00:21:42.47\00:21:43.56 Let there be land animals. 00:21:43.59\00:21:45.06 You know, God at the end of creation week, He says, Wow, 00:21:45.09\00:21:47.07 I've really worked! 00:21:47.10\00:21:48.13 I need a vacation. 00:21:48.16\00:21:49.19 Is God resting because He's tired? 00:21:49.22\00:21:53.63 Is Jesus resting because He's tired? 00:21:53.66\00:21:56.68 Absolutely not! Then the question is, why is He resting? 00:21:56.71\00:22:02.80 We'll get to that in a moment, but before that allow me 00:22:02.83\00:22:05.74 to mention one other thing, which is extremely important. 00:22:05.77\00:22:08.19 Do you know that the story of creation says that Jesus 00:22:08.22\00:22:11.47 actually finished His work twice? 00:22:11.50\00:22:13.79 Now you say, how can you finish your work twice? 00:22:15.65\00:22:18.20 Well, let's notice Genesis 1:31. 00:22:18.23\00:22:21.62 There's a very interesting nuance here. 00:22:21.65\00:22:24.04 Genesis 1:31, and we'll continue reading through chapter 2. 00:22:24.07\00:22:28.89 Genesis 1:31, and we'll go on to read chapter 2. It says there: 00:22:28.92\00:22:36.61 When did He finish? 00:22:50.57\00:22:51.60 It says it was the evening and the morning of the sixth day. 00:22:54.68\00:22:57.87 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them 00:22:57.90\00:23:01.36 were finished. He finished the sixth day, 00:23:01.39\00:23:03.90 according to this verse. 00:23:03.93\00:23:04.96 But then you read the next verse. 00:23:04.99\00:23:06.31 It appears to have a contradiction. 00:23:06.34\00:23:07.81 It says in verse 2: And on the seventh day God ended his work 00:23:08.19\00:23:13.37 which he had done;... 00:23:13.40\00:23:14.76 Now wait a minute. Did He finish on the sixth 00:23:14.79\00:23:19.57 or did He end on the seventh? 00:23:19.60\00:23:22.06 Maybe Moses forgot what he wrote in Genesis 1:31. 00:23:22.09\00:23:27.66 And he says, Oh, excuse me. 00:23:27.69\00:23:29.72 It wasn't the sixth day that He finished, it was the seventh day 00:23:29.75\00:23:32.84 that He finished. Actually, there's something else 00:23:32.87\00:23:34.90 that's going on here, and let me explain it. 00:23:34.93\00:23:36.65 I had the privilege of working for 41/2 years in New Mexico. 00:23:36.68\00:23:43.28 All of New Mexico was my territory, and West Texas. 00:23:43.31\00:23:45.85 I lived in Amarillo, Texas. 00:23:45.88\00:23:47.15 And one of the places which I really enjoyed visiting 00:23:47.18\00:23:50.06 was Taos, New Mexico. 00:23:50.09\00:23:51.63 Have any of you ever been to Taos, New Mexico? 00:23:51.66\00:23:54.14 Beautiful country up there. 00:23:54.17\00:23:55.41 Yeah, you know, that's God's country. 00:23:55.44\00:23:57.10 Wonderful! Especially in the winter. 00:23:57.13\00:23:59.40 It gets beautiful because of all of the mountains. 00:23:59.45\00:24:01.34 But, anyway, something which Taos has, which I'm sure other 00:24:01.37\00:24:06.86 places have, but it impacted me, is a huge number of art 00:24:06.89\00:24:11.33 galleries. They have so many artists. 00:24:11.36\00:24:15.45 Many of them are Native Americans. 00:24:15.48\00:24:17.11 And, you know, you can go to their shop, and you can see them 00:24:17.14\00:24:20.79 actually painting works of art. 00:24:20.82\00:24:23.50 And I had the privilege, while I was there, I had a series of 00:24:23.53\00:24:27.39 meetings for three weeks one time. 00:24:27.42\00:24:28.78 In fact it was on Genesis. 00:24:28.81\00:24:30.01 This was many years ago. 00:24:30.04\00:24:31.56 And I used to enjoy going to the art galleries, 00:24:31.59\00:24:34.34 and watching the artist work. 00:24:34.37\00:24:35.79 And do you know what they would do? 00:24:35.82\00:24:37.28 What they would do is they would, first of all, 00:24:37.31\00:24:39.29 take a frame, a wooden frame, and then they would staple 00:24:39.32\00:24:42.33 a piece of canvas over the frame. 00:24:42.44\00:24:48.24 They would make sure that it was nice and tight. 00:24:48.27\00:24:50.16 They would place it on the easel, and then they would 00:24:50.19\00:24:53.97 sit down, and I'm dramatizing for effect. 00:24:54.00\00:24:55.98 They would sit down, and they would put some colors on the 00:24:56.01\00:24:59.68 canvas. And after they finished the first day of work they 00:24:59.71\00:25:03.20 would look at the canvas and say, It looks good. 00:25:03.23\00:25:06.91 And then the second day they would come and they would 00:25:06.94\00:25:10.24 add a few colors there. 00:25:10.27\00:25:11.87 They would perhaps add a few clouds in the sky. 00:25:11.90\00:25:15.34 And then after a day's work they would look, and they would 00:25:15.37\00:25:18.73 say, Hum, it looks good! 00:25:18.76\00:25:21.38 Then they would come the third day and they would add some 00:25:21.41\00:25:23.99 hills, and they would add some mountains, and some trees, 00:25:24.02\00:25:26.68 and some plants, and some flowers. 00:25:26.71\00:25:29.05 And at the end of the third day they would look and they would 00:25:29.08\00:25:31.28 say, Hum, looks good! 00:25:31.31\00:25:34.05 Then the fourth day they would sit down, and they would 00:25:34.08\00:25:36.74 probably, you know, paint a sun in the sky, and they would add 00:25:37.22\00:25:40.93 a few more colors to the canvas. 00:25:40.96\00:25:42.67 And at the end of the fourth day they'd look at their work, 00:25:42.70\00:25:45.88 and they'd say, Hum, looks good! 00:25:45.91\00:25:48.76 And the fifth day they would have jumping out of a lake, 00:25:48.79\00:25:52.61 you know, some fish. 00:25:52.64\00:25:54.16 And they would color some birds flying through the air. 00:25:54.19\00:25:57.79 And at the end of the fifth day, they would look and they would 00:25:57.82\00:26:00.20 say, Hum, looks real good! 00:26:00.23\00:26:03.46 And then the sixth day they would sit down and they would 00:26:03.49\00:26:06.81 and some giraffes, and some elephants, and different kinds 00:26:06.84\00:26:09.78 of animals on the canvas, and then they would paint a woman 00:26:09.81\00:26:14.99 and a man perhaps, there enjoying the beautiful scenery. 00:26:15.02\00:26:18.49 And then they would add the final touches to the canvas, 00:26:18.52\00:26:24.83 and look and say, It is very good! 00:26:24.86\00:26:31.73 Now let me ask you, was the work of art finished? 00:26:31.76\00:26:37.67 I said they finished. I said he finished. 00:26:37.70\00:26:41.61 Is the work of art finished? 00:26:41.64\00:26:44.32 Yes, and No. The work itself is finished, but what is lacking? 00:26:44.35\00:26:52.37 The signature of the author of the work of art. 00:26:52.40\00:26:57.56 Without identifying who made it, (Hello), anybody can come along 00:27:01.05\00:27:05.98 and claim it. But the fact is that the picture was finished; 00:27:06.01\00:27:11.27 the work of art was finished. 00:27:11.30\00:27:12.41 But then the artist would take the brush. 00:27:12.44\00:27:18.26 See, I'm not an artist. 00:27:18.29\00:27:20.14 He would take the brush, and he would sign his name 00:27:20.17\00:27:24.16 to the work of art. 00:27:24.19\00:27:25.22 And then the work was finished. 00:27:25.25\00:27:30.93 If we apply this to creation, now we understand how Jesus 00:27:30.96\00:27:36.13 finished His work twice. 00:27:36.16\00:27:37.64 The sixth day He finished a work of art. 00:27:37.67\00:27:41.00 And, by the way, this work of art was not ecstatic that when 00:27:41.03\00:27:44.84 you look at it it's always the same. 00:27:44.87\00:27:47.43 This was a living picture. 00:27:47.46\00:27:50.12 It was a picture that changed at every instant, 00:27:50.15\00:27:53.53 at every moment. He made this beautiful world. 00:27:53.56\00:27:56.30 This beautiful work of art. 00:27:56.33\00:27:58.16 But Jesus knew that it was necessary to identify who was 00:27:58.19\00:28:04.32 the One who made this work of art. 00:28:04.35\00:28:07.13 And that's the reason why He created the Sabbath. 00:28:07.16\00:28:10.95 The Sabbath identifies the Creator. 00:28:10.98\00:28:14.73 The Sabbath is the signature of Jesus upon His work 00:28:14.76\00:28:18.83 of creation. It tells us who made all of these things. 00:28:18.86\00:28:23.70 Are you understanding what I'm saying? 00:28:23.73\00:28:25.50 Now, I mentioned that God wasn't tired, Jesus wasn't tired when 00:28:25.53\00:28:31.57 He finished creation week. 00:28:31.60\00:28:32.72 Let's go to Isaiah 40:28, Isaiah 40:28. 00:28:32.75\00:28:39.14 Here we find an interesting declaration about creation, 00:28:39.17\00:28:43.29 and about the Creator. 00:28:43.32\00:28:44.61 And I want you to notice this interesting statement 00:28:44.64\00:28:48.21 of the prophet Isaiah. It says here: 00:28:48.24\00:28:51.48 Does the Creator get weary, according to this verse? 00:29:12.99\00:29:17.32 Was Jesus tired at the end of creation week? Absolutely not! 00:29:17.35\00:29:21.22 By the way, was man tired? 00:29:21.25\00:29:25.44 I don't know whether you've stopped to think about this. 00:29:27.04\00:29:29.51 Man was created on the second half of the first day. 00:29:29.54\00:29:34.00 So his first day on earth, first full day on earth, was the day 00:29:34.03\00:29:39.23 of what? It was the day of rest. 00:29:39.26\00:29:41.82 Now this is strange! 00:29:41.85\00:29:43.20 God rests, and He's not tired. 00:29:43.23\00:29:46.51 And man hadn't worked, and so he rests, 00:29:46.54\00:29:50.60 and he's not tired either. 00:29:50.63\00:29:52.17 Why would you have God and man resting on the Sabbath 00:29:52.20\00:29:56.66 if neither one of them are tired? 00:29:56.69\00:29:59.01 There must be a deeper purpose to the observance of the Sabbath 00:29:59.04\00:30:05.68 than physical rest. 00:30:05.71\00:30:08.61 Are you understanding what I am saying? 00:30:08.64\00:30:10.88 There's a deeper dimension to the Sabbath than physical rest, 00:30:10.91\00:30:15.20 because Adam wasn't tired, Eve wasn't tired, 00:30:15.23\00:30:18.32 and God wasn't tired either. 00:30:18.35\00:30:21.44 And, by the way, have you ever noticed in the creation story 00:30:21.47\00:30:24.44 that Adam and Eve did none of the work? 00:30:24.47\00:30:26.96 How much work of creation did Adam and Eve perform? 00:30:26.99\00:30:31.18 Nothing! And so when the seventh day comes around, God says to 00:30:31.21\00:30:37.98 Adam and Eve, I'm going to come down to the garden, 00:30:38.01\00:30:41.51 and I want you, Adam, and you, Eve, to spend the Sabbath 00:30:41.54\00:30:49.13 with me. I want us to rest together. 00:30:49.16\00:30:52.35 And you say, well, that's not what Genesis says. 00:30:52.38\00:30:54.58 Genesis says that God rested. 00:30:54.61\00:30:57.08 That's true, but notice what Jesus says in Mark 2:27, 00:30:57.11\00:31:02.75 Mark 2:27. And we'll read verse 28 also. 00:31:02.78\00:31:08.91 Notice Jesus, who was the Creator of the Sabbath, 00:31:08.94\00:31:12.35 what He has to say. 00:31:12.38\00:31:14.12 Mark 2:27. And He said to them: 00:31:14.15\00:31:19.14 ...and not man for the Sabbath. 00:31:28.02\00:31:31.42 Therefore the Son of man is also Lord of what? 00:31:31.45\00:31:38.55 Lord of the Sabbath. 00:31:38.58\00:31:39.82 For whom was the Sabbath made? 00:31:39.85\00:31:41.13 The Sabbath was not made for God, because God doesn't need 00:31:41.16\00:31:45.13 a Sabbath of rest. The Sabbath was made for man. 00:31:45.16\00:31:48.29 And yet God rested, and He invited man to rest. 00:31:48.32\00:31:52.26 Now why would they rest together? 00:31:52.29\00:31:54.20 Let me dramatize what happened that first Sabbath. 00:31:54.23\00:31:57.43 By the way, the last thing that God makes on the sixth day 00:31:57.46\00:32:02.66 is marriage. Do you notice that? 00:32:02.69\00:32:06.92 He calls Adam and Eve and He says, Adam, Eve, could you stand 00:32:06.95\00:32:11.32 right here in front of Me? 00:32:11.35\00:32:12.38 Ah, we're going to have our first marriage here. 00:32:12.41\00:32:14.62 And He pronounces those words: What God hath joined together 00:32:14.65\00:32:19.53 let not man cast asunder. 00:32:19.56\00:32:21.46 I declare you man and wife. 00:32:21.49\00:32:22.77 He didn't say that, but He married them. 00:32:22.80\00:32:25.81 And immediately after He marries them, the holy hours 00:32:25.84\00:32:30.95 of the Sabbath begin. 00:32:30.98\00:32:32.36 Now, have you noticed that during creation week, 00:32:32.39\00:32:35.33 the first six days God made things? 00:32:35.36\00:32:38.62 On the seventh day He made holy time. 00:32:38.65\00:32:42.34 This shows us that time is more important than what? 00:32:43.98\00:32:47.01 than things. In fact, during the sixth days of labor and work 00:32:47.04\00:32:54.83 we remember the things of God, whereas on the seventh day 00:32:54.86\00:32:59.06 the purpose is to remember the God of things. 00:32:59.09\00:33:01.63 Now, allow me to mention what happened on that first Sabbath. 00:33:04.01\00:33:08.51 God calls Adam and Eve. 00:33:08.54\00:33:10.57 He's resting with them. 00:33:10.60\00:33:11.63 It says so in Genesis. 00:33:11.66\00:33:12.90 And Jesus says to Adam, Well, Adam, what do you think? 00:33:12.93\00:33:19.03 Well, Lord, You could have made that tree a little bit taller 00:33:19.06\00:33:22.89 over there. I don't think so! 00:33:22.92\00:33:25.31 Jesus says, Do you like what you see? 00:33:25.34\00:33:29.79 What do you think Adam said? Wow! 00:33:29.82\00:33:34.25 How about those birds over there? Amazing! 00:33:34.28\00:33:37.97 How about this wife that I gave you? Wow! 00:33:38.00\00:33:41.31 How about this husband? Oh, marvelous! 00:33:41.34\00:33:45.09 In other words, on that day Jesus met with Adam and Eve 00:33:45.12\00:33:49.83 and they contemplated His work of creation. 00:33:49.86\00:33:53.50 God said, All of this that you see, I made for you. 00:33:53.53\00:33:59.16 It is My gift for you. 00:33:59.19\00:34:00.87 But you might forget where this came from. 00:34:03.45\00:34:08.44 So what I want us to do is every seventh day you're going 00:34:08.47\00:34:11.89 to interrupt your activities. 00:34:11.92\00:34:14.60 You're going to interrupt your endeavors. 00:34:14.63\00:34:17.01 And for twenty-four whole hours I'm going to come to the garden 00:34:17.04\00:34:22.52 and We're going to contemplate what I made for you. 00:34:22.55\00:34:27.95 The focus is going to shift from you to Me. 00:34:27.98\00:34:31.90 By the way, have you noticed that on the sixth day God made 00:34:31.93\00:34:35.79 Adam king of creation? 00:34:35.82\00:34:39.08 He gave Adam and Eve dominion, the Bible says. 00:34:39.11\00:34:42.12 But by creating the seventh day God is saying to Adam and Eve, 00:34:42.15\00:34:45.21 you are Lord's of creation, but the seventh day shows that I am 00:34:45.24\00:34:48.65 your Lord, because I made you; you're My creatures. 00:34:48.68\00:34:54.21 And so every seventh day Jesus promised to come and meet 00:34:54.24\00:34:58.91 with Adam and Eve so that they could contemplate His works 00:34:58.94\00:35:01.60 of creation; His marvelous works of creation. 00:35:01.63\00:35:03.70 And in this way their hearts would be filled with reverence, 00:35:03.73\00:35:06.93 and with love, and with gratefulness, because of the 00:35:06.96\00:35:11.15 love, and the wisdom of Jesus in giving them this gift. 00:35:11.18\00:35:15.34 Notice that they had not worked for it; it was a gift. 00:35:15.37\00:35:19.32 Is this true of salvation, too? 00:35:20.94\00:35:22.95 See, this is part two. 00:35:22.98\00:35:24.43 We're not dealing with the Sabbath and salvation in our 00:35:24.46\00:35:26.95 lecture today. We're going to deal with that tomorrow, 00:35:26.98\00:35:29.47 because the Sabbath has an additional dimension. 00:35:29.50\00:35:31.74 You see, the purpose of the Sabbath is to show that Jesus 00:35:31.77\00:35:36.01 works, and we simply receive His gift and accept it. 00:35:36.04\00:35:39.85 And keeping the Sabbath is a sign that we believe that He 00:35:39.88\00:35:43.24 is the Creator, and that we're thankful and grateful to Him, 00:35:43.27\00:35:46.42 and that we worship Him because He is our Creator. 00:35:46.45\00:35:49.38 How about it? Can you imagine Adam saying, You mean to say 00:35:49.41\00:35:55.05 that I have to take a whole day of the week out of my busy 00:35:55.08\00:36:00.21 schedule? And we have twenty- four hours to suspend all of my 00:36:00.24\00:36:05.93 things so that we can just talk about You, and what You've done? 00:36:05.96\00:36:09.56 How is it, Lord, that You deliver unto me this yoke 00:36:09.59\00:36:13.11 of bondage? You know what I think Adam said, what Eve said? 00:36:13.14\00:36:19.22 They said, Jesus, couldn't we meet every day? 00:36:19.26\00:36:23.42 Because if they loved Jesus, would they want to spend that 00:36:25.49\00:36:28.73 time of fellowship with Jesus? Yes! 00:36:28.76\00:36:31.32 The sixth day Jesus says, Adam I made you for Eve. 00:36:31.35\00:36:35.49 Eve I made you for Adam. 00:36:35.52\00:36:36.87 But the seventh day He says, Adam and Eve, I made you for Me. 00:36:36.90\00:36:40.26 I am your Lord. I am your Creator. 00:36:40.29\00:36:44.76 I made you for fellowship. 00:36:44.79\00:36:46.49 Suspend your things, and just come and enjoy rest with Me. 00:36:46.52\00:36:53.70 That was the original intent of the Holy Sabbath, 00:36:55.28\00:36:58.17 and God knew that people might forget it. 00:36:58.20\00:37:01.42 That's why, in the fourth commandment He says, 00:37:01.45\00:37:03.24 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 00:37:04.70\00:37:06.20 Do you think that if the Sabbath was necessary at creation, 00:37:06.23\00:37:09.44 in a perfect world, with a perfect Adam and Eve, 00:37:09.47\00:37:12.72 if it was necessary to remind them about their roots, 00:37:12.75\00:37:17.01 the source of their existence, how wonderful their Creator was, 00:37:17.04\00:37:20.63 how much love He had for them by giving them all of these 00:37:20.66\00:37:23.88 things free of charge, without their working for them. 00:37:23.91\00:37:26.58 Do you think that Adam and Eve needed to remember who 00:37:26.61\00:37:33.84 the Creator was? Obviously, Yes, 00:37:33.87\00:37:36.50 because the Sabbath was created for that purpose. 00:37:36.53\00:37:39.68 Now, it's interesting that some individuals say that the Sabbath 00:37:39.71\00:37:47.07 was okay in the Old Testament, but that the Sabbath does not 00:37:47.10\00:37:52.12 apply to Christians today. 00:37:52.15\00:37:53.55 I once had an interesting conversation with a pastor 00:37:53.58\00:37:57.54 friend. He was not a pastor of the same church 00:37:57.57\00:38:00.12 that I belong to. And just to play devil's advocate, 00:38:00.15\00:38:03.50 I said to him, You know what? 00:38:03.53\00:38:05.17 I believe that's it's perfectly okay for a man to marry a man, 00:38:05.20\00:38:08.30 and a woman to marry a woman. 00:38:08.33\00:38:09.62 Now, I don't believe that, but I said that to him. 00:38:12.10\00:38:16.61 And his eyes bulged, and he looked at me and he says, 00:38:16.64\00:38:20.93 You as a pastor would say that you think that a man can marry 00:38:20.96\00:38:25.45 a man, and a woman a woman? 00:38:25.48\00:38:27.26 I said, Sure, why not? 00:38:27.29\00:38:30.36 And he looked at me and he says, the answer is obvious. 00:38:30.39\00:38:34.40 The Bible says that at the beginning God made Adam and Eve, 00:38:34.43\00:38:39.27 and He performed the first marriage between a man 00:38:39.30\00:38:43.29 and a woman. And then I had him where I wanted him. 00:38:43.32\00:38:45.61 And I looked at him and I said, Okay, good point. 00:38:45.64\00:38:50.97 What else did Jesus make at creation week? 00:38:51.00\00:38:54.14 And boy, you should have seen him. 00:38:57.28\00:38:58.63 You could have heard a pin drop. 00:38:58.66\00:38:59.71 And I'm still waiting for his answer. 00:39:01.18\00:39:04.61 You see the Sabbath was made at the same time as marriage. 00:39:04.64\00:39:08.26 And so if you say that marriage still applies between a man 00:39:10.22\00:39:13.97 and a woman, and you argue on the basis of creation, 00:39:14.00\00:39:17.13 you must also argue on the basis of creation that the Sabbath 00:39:17.16\00:39:21.09 is still binding. And, by the way, some people say the Sabbath 00:39:21.12\00:39:24.44 was for the Jews. Listen up to what I'm going to say. 00:39:24.47\00:39:26.65 No place in the Bible does it say that the Sabbath was 00:39:26.68\00:39:30.07 the Sabbath of the Jews. 00:39:30.10\00:39:31.26 Furthermore, Adam was not a Jew, because the name Jew comes from 00:39:31.29\00:39:36.86 Judah, one of the sons of Jacob. 00:39:36.89\00:39:38.34 In fact the Sabbath, some people say, Well, the Sabbath was 00:39:40.08\00:39:42.40 a symbol of the rest that we have in Jesus 00:39:42.43\00:39:44.34 when He died on the cross to give us His spiritual rest. 00:39:44.37\00:39:46.45 Listen folks, when the Sabbath was created there was no need 00:39:46.48\00:39:49.61 for any Redeemer, because man had not sinned. 00:39:49.64\00:39:52.73 The Sabbath is part of God's original plan for man. 00:39:52.76\00:39:56.84 It is not an after thought of God. 00:39:56.87\00:39:58.93 Well, I'll give them the Sabbath now to show them the rest that I 00:39:58.96\00:40:01.93 am going to give them someday when I die on the cross. 00:40:01.96\00:40:03.83 There was no need for a cross when the Sabbath was created. 00:40:03.86\00:40:06.99 There were no Jews, so you can't say that the Sabbath was 00:40:07.02\00:40:10.43 made for the Jews. 00:40:10.46\00:40:11.49 Am I making myself clear? 00:40:11.52\00:40:13.87 The Sabbath is a creation institution. 00:40:13.90\00:40:17.58 Now I'd like to ask the question, when does the 00:40:17.61\00:40:20.38 Sabbath begin? This is very important. 00:40:20.41\00:40:23.94 You know, some people say I keep Sunday. 00:40:23.97\00:40:26.20 And what they do is go to church on Sunday. 00:40:26.23\00:40:28.50 It's not the same to go to church on Sunday, 00:40:28.53\00:40:31.84 or go to church on Saturday, as observing the Sabbath 00:40:31.87\00:40:36.65 the way the Bible says. 00:40:36.68\00:40:37.82 Notice Genesis 1:5, Genesis 1:5. 00:40:37.85\00:40:44.16 This is a formula that is used each day of creation. 00:40:44.19\00:40:48.43 It says there in verse 5: 00:40:48.46\00:40:50.35 Did you notice the order? 00:41:02.45\00:41:03.76 What comes first, the evening or the morning? 00:41:03.79\00:41:05.68 According to this it's the evening and the morning. 00:41:05.71\00:41:09.28 And, by the way, the word evening means sunset. 00:41:09.31\00:41:13.99 Go with me to Mark 1:32, Mark 1:32. 00:41:14.02\00:41:20.42 Here it's speaking about the healings of Jesus, 00:41:22.60\00:41:25.45 and these are the words that we find. 00:41:25.49\00:41:27.46 At evening...Notice the same word. 00:41:27.49\00:41:31.96 When is evening? When the sun what? 00:41:42.98\00:41:46.34 When the sun sets. 00:41:46.37\00:41:48.09 And it says in the Bible, from evening to evening 00:41:48.12\00:41:52.66 shall you keep, your what? your Sabbaths. 00:41:52.69\00:41:57.04 Now let me ask you, do you know why we have a week today? 00:41:57.07\00:42:00.83 Why does a week have seven days? 00:42:00.86\00:42:02.51 Do you know that every measurement of time that we have 00:42:05.09\00:42:07.93 has an astronomical explanation, except one? 00:42:07.96\00:42:11.96 Our year is the amount of time that it takes our earth to make 00:42:11.99\00:42:17.25 one complete revolution around the sun: 365 and 1/4 days. 00:42:17.29\00:42:21.53 It has an astronomical explanation. 00:42:22.58\00:42:24.55 Our month, technically speaking, is the period between one 00:42:24.58\00:42:28.92 new moon and another. 00:42:28.96\00:42:29.99 The day is the amount of time that it takes our planet to 00:42:31.75\00:42:35.48 make one complete turn on its axis. 00:42:35.51\00:42:37.40 Every one of those measurements has an astronomical 00:42:37.43\00:42:41.74 explanation. There's one measurement of time that has no 00:42:41.77\00:42:44.32 astronomical explanation, and that is the week. 00:42:44.35\00:42:46.72 Why does the week have seven days? 00:42:46.75\00:42:48.31 It could have ten. It could have five. 00:42:48.34\00:42:50.88 Why does it have seven days? 00:42:50.91\00:42:54.58 Simply because that's the way that God made the Sabbath, 00:42:54.61\00:42:59.30 that Jesus made the week, and the Sabbath at the beginning 00:42:59.41\00:43:02.25 of human history. And the weekly cycle has continued 00:43:02.28\00:43:06.88 uninterrupted since that time. 00:43:06.92\00:43:09.54 By the way, do you know that there are some people that say, 00:43:09.57\00:43:13.87 Well, you know, that's okay, but we don't know whether 00:43:13.90\00:43:16.20 the Sabbath today is the same Sabbath that existed 00:43:16.23\00:43:19.00 way back then. We don't know whether the weekly cycle 00:43:19.03\00:43:22.25 has been broken. Biblically we can show that the weekly cycle 00:43:22.28\00:43:26.98 has not been broken. 00:43:27.01\00:43:28.04 By the way, Christians have no problems saying that the Sunday 00:43:28.07\00:43:30.74 that we keep is the Sunday Jesus resurrected. 00:43:30.78\00:43:33.27 It's just the Sabbath that Adventist's keep 00:43:33.30\00:43:37.26 that isn't the same Sabbath. 00:43:37.30\00:43:38.85 But the Sunday that we keep today is the same 00:43:38.88\00:43:41.65 Sunday as the Resurrection. 00:43:41.68\00:43:42.83 You can't have it both ways. 00:43:42.87\00:43:44.27 If the Sunday that is observed today is supposedly in honor 00:43:44.30\00:43:48.67 of the resurrection of Jesus, then the day before Sunday, 00:43:48.70\00:43:51.40 the Sabbath, is also the same Sabbath. 00:43:51.44\00:43:53.93 Are you understanding what I'm saying? 00:43:53.97\00:43:56.43 And if the Sabbath today is the same Sabbath as it was 00:43:57.54\00:44:00.55 in the days of Christ, and Jesus kept that Sabbath, 00:44:00.58\00:44:04.12 because we find in Luke 4:16 that it was the custom of Jesus 00:44:04.16\00:44:08.82 to go to the synagogue to observe the Sabbath. 00:44:08.85\00:44:11.10 Now listen up to what I'm going to say. 00:44:11.13\00:44:12.54 If Jesus kept the same Sabbath, which we keep today, 00:44:12.57\00:44:15.49 which is true, astronomically and historically. 00:44:15.52\00:44:19.31 Even Christians recognize that, because they observe Sunday, 00:44:19.34\00:44:23.20 in honor of the resurrection of Jesus. 00:44:23.23\00:44:24.74 If that's true, then we have to conclude that the Sabbath 00:44:24.77\00:44:32.71 that Jesus observed is the same Sabbath of creation, 00:44:32.75\00:44:35.77 because do you think Jesus would be observing the wrong Sabbath, 00:44:35.80\00:44:38.38 being the Creator of the Sabbath in His day? 00:44:38.41\00:44:40.48 Are you understanding my point? 00:44:40.52\00:44:42.53 If the Sabbath of Christ is the same Sabbath of today, 00:44:42.56\00:44:45.91 and Jesus kept it, and Jesus created the Sabbath. 00:44:45.94\00:44:48.67 It must be the same Sabbath that He made at the beginning, 00:44:48.70\00:44:50.96 because the Creator would not be observing the wrong day. 00:44:50.99\00:44:55.06 In fact if you look, and I'll just mention this, 00:44:55.09\00:45:01.02 at Luke 23:54 through Luke 24:1, you'll find the sequence 00:45:01.05\00:45:07.21 of days. It very clearly says there that Jesus died 00:45:07.24\00:45:10.74 on the Preparation Day, the day before the Sabbath, 00:45:10.77\00:45:14.27 it says there, Jesus died. 00:45:14.30\00:45:15.74 Then it says that the women rested on the Sabbath day, 00:45:15.78\00:45:20.75 according to the commandment. 00:45:20.78\00:45:22.12 And then we're told in Luke 24:1 that Jesus resurrected 00:45:22.16\00:45:27.68 on the first day of the week. 00:45:27.71\00:45:28.96 So there you have the sequence. 00:45:28.99\00:45:31.74 You have Friday, His death. 00:45:31.77\00:45:34.47 By the way, Christians keep Good Friday. 00:45:34.51\00:45:37.90 Isn't it interesting how the Sabbath gets lost 00:45:37.93\00:45:40.57 during Holy Week? They speak about Palm Sunday. 00:45:40.60\00:45:45.68 And among Hispanics Holy Thursday is particularly 00:45:45.71\00:45:49.64 important: Jueves Santo. 00:45:49.67\00:45:51.50 Oh, that's a very important day. 00:45:51.53\00:45:53.42 And, you know, Crucifixion Friday, and Resurrection Sunday. 00:45:53.46\00:45:58.30 Who ever says anything about the Sabbath? 00:45:58.33\00:46:00.48 It's lost in the shuffle, because there's one who doesn't 00:46:02.48\00:46:06.29 want us to remember the Creator. 00:46:06.32\00:46:07.90 Who would that be? Satan. 00:46:07.93\00:46:12.59 So you find the sequence of days is the same. 00:46:12.62\00:46:17.43 By the way, did you notice that in the commandment, 00:46:17.46\00:46:19.62 and in Genesis, it doesn't say keep one day in seven. 00:46:19.65\00:46:23.04 Every day is the Sabbath. 00:46:23.07\00:46:24.20 Worship every seventh day. 00:46:26.92\00:46:28.89 Because some Christians say, Yeah, I worship every seventh 00:46:28.92\00:46:32.77 day. That's not what the Bible says. 00:46:32.80\00:46:35.15 The Bible says that the Sabbath is the seventh day. 00:46:35.19\00:46:39.18 The same seventh day of creation. 00:46:39.21\00:46:41.76 The same seventh day that Jesus kept, is the same seventh 00:46:41.79\00:46:45.70 day today. And it's a day when Jesus wants us to suspend all 00:46:45.73\00:46:49.61 of our activities. 00:46:49.64\00:46:51.13 And He wants us to forget about our business, 00:46:51.16\00:46:53.36 and about our work, and about our endeavors, 00:46:53.39\00:46:56.20 and our recreation. 00:46:56.23\00:46:57.26 He says, forget the things that I have made, and now we're going 00:46:57.29\00:47:01.81 to reflect, and we're going to think about our relationship. 00:47:01.84\00:47:04.41 Quality time in the rat race of life. 00:47:04.44\00:47:08.68 How about it? Is this a blessing? 00:47:08.71\00:47:10.69 Do you need a break? I do. 00:47:10.72\00:47:14.94 Actually, I work harder on Sabbath than any other day, 00:47:14.97\00:47:17.82 but it's a different kind of work. 00:47:18.56\00:47:20.31 The priests offered double sacrifices on the Sabbath, 00:47:20.34\00:47:23.70 but it was a delight for them. 00:47:23.73\00:47:25.91 I delight to have all of the church family together, 00:47:25.94\00:47:29.48 and enjoy the fellowship, and the church programming, 00:47:29.51\00:47:33.15 and the corporate worship. 00:47:33.18\00:47:35.31 It's absolutely beautiful! 00:47:35.34\00:47:37.38 Now, do you know that the Sabbath is the only day 00:47:37.41\00:47:41.63 in the Bible that is declared to be holy? 00:47:41.66\00:47:45.17 By the way, some people say all the days are holy. 00:47:45.20\00:47:49.37 I keep every day. 00:47:49.40\00:47:50.71 The Bible never says you're supposed to keep every day. 00:47:50.74\00:47:52.62 It says six days you're supposed to work. 00:47:52.65\00:47:54.16 The seventh day is the Sabbath that we're 00:47:56.56\00:47:58.42 supposed to keep holy. 00:47:58.45\00:47:59.48 Listen, if all days are holy, then God would not be able to 00:47:59.51\00:48:06.39 separate the Sabbath as holy, because in order to separate 00:48:06.42\00:48:09.82 one day as holy, the rest of the days have to be secular days. 00:48:09.85\00:48:13.31 Hello! Are you catching my point? 00:48:13.34\00:48:16.39 In order to separate a holy day, that means that the other 00:48:16.42\00:48:19.46 ones aren't holy. 00:48:19.49\00:48:20.52 For example, I have a church hymnal, and I have my Bible. 00:48:20.55\00:48:23.88 Well, let's not use the church hymnal. 00:48:23.91\00:48:25.63 Let's use a history book that we use in college. 00:48:25.66\00:48:27.80 Are they different? 00:48:27.84\00:48:30.48 Yes! Do they have paper? 00:48:30.51\00:48:35.38 Do they have covers? 00:48:35.41\00:48:37.12 Do they have a name? 00:48:37.15\00:48:38.94 Sure, they're exactly the same, right? No. 00:48:38.97\00:48:41.91 What separates the Bible from other books? 00:48:42.95\00:48:45.11 It's God's Holy Word. 00:48:45.14\00:48:48.37 How about the tithe? 00:48:48.40\00:48:51.15 I put a dollar bill into the offering plate, 00:48:53.48\00:48:55.85 and I have a dollar bill in my pocket. 00:48:55.88\00:48:57.54 Are they the same? 00:48:57.57\00:48:58.77 Don't they both have George Washington? 00:48:58.80\00:49:01.52 Yes, they do, but are they the same? 00:49:02.50\00:49:04.92 No, because one is secular, and the other is what? 00:49:04.95\00:49:08.47 the other is holy. 00:49:08.50\00:49:09.79 You have this building, and you have other buildings. 00:49:09.82\00:49:12.61 You have city hall. 00:49:12.64\00:49:13.97 Is this building different than city hall? 00:49:14.00\00:49:16.69 It most certainly is, because this building is what? 00:49:16.72\00:49:20.13 It's been separated for a holy use. 00:49:20.16\00:49:23.03 And so six days are secular, and one day, which Jesus has 00:49:23.06\00:49:28.98 separated, is holy; the seventh day, according to scripture. 00:49:29.01\00:49:35.67 Some people say, well, hasn't it been changed> 00:49:35.70\00:49:37.67 Why would God change it? 00:49:39.39\00:49:40.52 Why would Jesus change it? 00:49:42.10\00:49:43.37 Nowhere in the Bible do you find that it says that 00:49:43.40\00:49:45.52 the day was changed. 00:49:45.55\00:49:46.58 No place do you find Jesus saying, well folks, 00:49:46.61\00:49:48.56 now we're not supposed to keep Sabbath anymore, 00:49:48.59\00:49:50.79 because I resurrected. 00:49:50.82\00:49:52.43 Now we're going to start keeping Sunday. 00:49:52.46\00:49:53.81 There's no thus sayeth the Lord; there's no command, 00:49:53.84\00:49:55.95 like the Bible commands us to observe the seventh day Sabbath. 00:49:55.98\00:49:58.91 Some people say it doesn't really matter, Pastor, 00:49:58.94\00:50:01.47 which day we keep, as long as we're sincere, 00:50:01.50\00:50:03.45 and we dedicate one day to the Lord. 00:50:03.48\00:50:05.84 Do you think God accepts a secular day that we offer Him, 00:50:08.31\00:50:11.31 instead of the holy day that He has established? 00:50:11.34\00:50:13.28 Do you remember the story of Nadab and Abihu? 00:50:13.31\00:50:16.20 God said, bring holy fire into the sanctuary? 00:50:17.71\00:50:20.57 And they were a little under the influence of alcohol? 00:50:22.08\00:50:24.40 The Bible says, and you can read this in chapter 10, 00:50:24.43\00:50:27.99 they entered into the sanctuary with common, ordinary, 00:50:28.02\00:50:31.67 everyday fire? not the holy fire from the altar? 00:50:31.70\00:50:34.39 By the way, if you looked at those fires, 00:50:34.42\00:50:37.52 would they look alike? Sure. 00:50:37.55\00:50:39.97 If you put your finger in both fires, 00:50:40.00\00:50:41.95 would your finger be burned? 00:50:41.98\00:50:43.01 If you analyzed the chemical qualities of the fires, 00:50:43.04\00:50:46.63 would they be the same? 00:50:46.66\00:50:47.87 Yes, so why was the fire from the altar different than the 00:50:47.90\00:50:52.41 fire that they used for cooking? 00:50:52.44\00:50:53.90 Because the fire on the altar, God made what? holy. 00:50:53.93\00:50:57.68 And God said, bring holy fire. 00:50:57.71\00:50:59.59 And so they bring common, ordinary fire, 00:50:59.62\00:51:01.73 and they present it to the Lord, and God says, Oh, who cares? 00:51:01.76\00:51:05.34 Fire is fire. No way! 00:51:05.37\00:51:09.05 The Bible says that the glory of the Lord 00:51:10.39\00:51:12.96 destroyed Nadab and Abihu. 00:51:13.78\00:51:15.25 It's one of those references that people don't like to read, 00:51:15.28\00:51:17.58 because they say, Eew, you know, God destroyed them! 00:51:17.61\00:51:21.71 What was the principle? 00:51:23.41\00:51:24.86 They took something which was common, and they presented it 00:51:24.89\00:51:28.19 to God as if it was what? holy. 00:51:28.22\00:51:30.42 How do you suppose God feels when we take a common day of 00:51:30.45\00:51:33.35 work and present it to Him as if it were holy? 00:51:33.38\00:51:36.20 Is it the same principle? 00:51:36.23\00:51:38.45 The first day of the week is a day of work: 00:51:38.48\00:51:41.41 Six days you shall labor. 00:51:41.44\00:51:42.99 The first day is the first day of labor. 00:51:43.02\00:51:44.67 To bring that day and present it to Him as a holy day, 00:51:44.70\00:51:48.04 is the same principle. 00:51:48.07\00:51:49.60 God, if we know what His will is, will not accept that. 00:51:49.63\00:51:54.50 Some people say, Well, pastor, we're under grace, 00:51:54.53\00:51:56.26 we're not under the law. 00:51:56.29\00:51:57.32 So does that mean that you can commit adultery now? 00:51:57.35\00:51:59.35 You can go out and kill someone, right? 00:51:59.38\00:52:03.15 You can lie, you can covet, you can worship idols. 00:52:03.18\00:52:10.05 Can you do all of those things? 00:52:10.08\00:52:11.11 Is it okay? Oh, no, you can't do that! 00:52:11.14\00:52:13.90 Than why does a different principle apply to the Sabbath? 00:52:13.93\00:52:16.85 He who offends in one point, is guilty of all, 00:52:18.74\00:52:21.31 according to scripture. 00:52:21.34\00:52:22.54 So just because we're under grace doesn't give us the 00:52:22.57\00:52:25.16 license to disobey God's holy law. 00:52:25.19\00:52:27.30 Some people say it was for the Jews. 00:52:27.33\00:52:29.30 Never once does the Bible speak of the Sabbath as 00:52:29.33\00:52:31.33 the Sabbath of the Jews. 00:52:31.36\00:52:32.39 There was no Jew when it was established. 00:52:32.42\00:52:34.12 Oh, but isn't Sunday the Lord's day? No it isn't. 00:52:34.15\00:52:37.03 Twenty-three times in Scripture we are told that the Lord's day 00:52:37.07\00:52:41.68 is the Sabbath. The seventh day is the Sabbath 00:52:41.71\00:52:45.09 of the Lord thy God. 00:52:45.12\00:52:47.12 The Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. 00:52:47.15\00:52:52.94 Never once does the Bible present the first day of 00:52:52.97\00:52:56.81 the week as a day of rest. 00:52:56.85\00:53:00.46 Some people say, Well, Jesus broke the Sabbath. 00:53:00.49\00:53:03.00 We'll deal with this accusation tomorrow. 00:53:03.03\00:53:06.27 Listen, if Jesus broke the Sabbath, 00:53:06.30\00:53:08.18 and the Sabbath is one of the ten commandments, 00:53:08.21\00:53:09.83 Jesus was a sinner, and Jesus needs a redeemer. 00:53:09.86\00:53:14.27 Are you understanding what I am saying? 00:53:14.30\00:53:18.33 Serious implications! 00:53:18.36\00:53:19.51 And, by the way, if Jesus broke the Sabbath, 00:53:19.54\00:53:21.75 then the Pharisees were right. 00:53:21.78\00:53:23.35 Are you going to take the side of the Pharisees? 00:53:23.38\00:53:27.87 Are you going to accuse Jesus of sinning? 00:53:29.14\00:53:31.38 Jesus did not break the Bible Sabbath, 00:53:31.41\00:53:33.63 He broke the Sabbath of the Pharisees, 00:53:33.66\00:53:36.45 which is not the same Sabbath, because the Pharisees 00:53:36.91\00:53:40.84 had made it a yoke of bondage. 00:53:40.87\00:53:42.77 It was a day of restrictions, and rules, and regulations 00:53:42.80\00:53:46.65 that made people miserable. 00:53:46.69\00:53:48.42 The original intention of just enjoying the whole day in 00:53:48.45\00:53:51.57 basking in God's presence, and taking a break from our things, 00:53:51.60\00:53:55.27 and just resting in God, and enjoying what He has done; 00:53:55.30\00:53:59.15 what He has given, that had been lost. 00:53:59.18\00:54:01.39 The delight had become a day of misery, and bondage. 00:54:01.42\00:54:05.86 And Jesus came to deliver the Sabbath from bondage. 00:54:05.89\00:54:08.92 Some people say it was beyond repair, so He got rid of it. 00:54:08.95\00:54:12.46 Well, the fact is that marriage was also beyond repair, 00:54:12.49\00:54:15.99 so I guess we've got to get rid of marriage, too. 00:54:17.30\00:54:19.63 Jesus addressed the issue. 00:54:19.66\00:54:22.16 You get divorced for any old reason, Jesus said. 00:54:22.19\00:54:24.47 So if you apply it to the Sabbath, 00:54:24.51\00:54:26.72 you have to apply it to marriage. 00:54:26.75\00:54:28.38 We can't pick and choose. 00:54:28.41\00:54:30.65 Some people say, but pastor, how can the majority be wrong? 00:54:30.68\00:54:33.42 Well, you show me one time in history when 00:54:35.30\00:54:36.86 the majority was right. 00:54:36.89\00:54:37.92 In the days of Noah how many were right? Eight! 00:54:42.00\00:54:48.86 The Bible says only one, the others tagged along. 00:54:48.89\00:54:51.54 Let me ask you, in the days of Daniel, did he stand alone? 00:54:54.17\00:54:56.66 did he stand alone? Yes he did. 00:54:59.00\00:55:02.45 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, when the multitudes 00:55:02.49\00:55:05.68 met in the valley of Dura, did Daniel stand alone? 00:55:05.71\00:55:10.18 He most certainly did. 00:55:10.21\00:55:12.68 How about Elijah? Did he stand alone? 00:55:12.71\00:55:16.06 He sure did. Did Jesus stand alone? 00:55:16.09\00:55:19.44 He even felt that His Father had forsaken Him. 00:55:19.47\00:55:22.64 My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me? 00:55:22.67\00:55:25.80 The fact is, folks, that the majority is never right, 00:55:25.83\00:55:30.78 because the majority, as a general rule, does not want 00:55:30.82\00:55:35.48 to order their lives in harmony with what God teaches. 00:55:35.52\00:55:38.73 It takes too much effort. 00:55:38.77\00:55:41.73 It cramps our lifestyle. 00:55:41.76\00:55:43.97 And so people, instead of following what God says, 00:55:44.00\00:55:48.01 they follow the crowd. 00:55:48.04\00:55:49.47 They follow peer pressure. 00:55:50.87\00:55:52.55 They trust their religious leaders. 00:55:52.58\00:55:56.42 Folks we cannot blindly trust our religious leaders. 00:55:56.45\00:55:59.85 I'm not saying that we should not respect our pastors. 00:55:59.88\00:56:03.05 What I'm saying is, we should not blindly follow them. 00:56:03.09\00:56:06.23 We should compare what they teach, with what the Holy Word 00:56:06.26\00:56:09.96 of God says. And we should follow the Word. 00:56:09.99\00:56:14.30 We can always trust the Word. 00:56:14.33\00:56:17.15 Some Christians say, Well, we have signs and wonders. 00:56:17.18\00:56:20.59 Don't you believe it! 00:56:22.31\00:56:23.49 Some ministers quote the Word out of context. 00:56:23.52\00:56:26.02 Be careful, go check it out for yourself. 00:56:27.27\00:56:29.88 Some people follow their reasoning. 00:56:29.91\00:56:32.30 Well, I honor Jesus on Resurrection Day. 00:56:32.33\00:56:35.57 That's human reasoning. 00:56:35.60\00:56:37.53 Some people follow the testimony of their senses. 00:56:39.40\00:56:41.93 Some follow the peer pressure of others. 00:56:41.96\00:56:44.13 We can only follow and trust the Word of God. 00:56:44.16\00:56:47.19 Do you remember that in our last lecture we said that the genuine 00:56:47.22\00:56:51.33 always comes before the counterfeit? 00:56:51.36\00:56:53.27 Now let's apply that principle to the day of worship. 00:56:53.30\00:56:57.22 Which was the original, genuine day of worship that Jesus made 00:56:57.25\00:57:01.92 for the human race? 00:57:01.95\00:57:02.98 There's no doubt. Do you think the devil, later on in history, 00:57:03.01\00:57:06.91 would have another day to rival the Sabbath? 00:57:06.94\00:57:09.04 The devil has a counterfeit for everything that God has true, 00:57:10.58\00:57:13.04 So the devil would obviously want to have a different day 00:57:13.07\00:57:18.10 of worship. I pray to God that we will all choose to spend 00:57:18.13\00:57:23.51 this time with Jesus. How about it? 00:57:23.54\00:57:27.54
