rescuing the Jews from Egypt,

they didn't get
the plague on them,

that went to the
rest of the Egyptians

and so God
delivered them. Right.

Well, Passover is indeed
described in Exodus Chapter 12.

This is I would say, a little
pause before the last plague,

the plague that would basically
kill the first born of Egypt.

And this is one of
the important chapters

in which we see the
nature of God's charter.

Because people
often misunderstand God

in this Egyptian plagues.

You know, people often even--
there are some people they,

who even
accused Jews in genocide

against Egyptian,
there are even people

who say, God is just so mean
killing the first born and--

But that wasn't his idea
though, right? Absolutely not.

Yeah, see that's
what people miss,

because the Bible
does talk about that

Pharaoh was actually the one
who proclaim the last plague.

Well, what actually the
Passover idea is that anyone--

yes, there was Angel of Death,

about to kill the first born.

But if someone actually take--

want to take heed
to what God is saying,

they got to take the lamb

and kill this
lamb in their houses

and put smear the blood
of this lamb on the doorpost

and that would
save the first born.

they would eat it.

Let me read a little portion

It's talking about the lamb.

with your sandals on your feet,

You shall eat it in haste.
It is the Lord's Passover.

the land of Egypt that night,

strike all the firstborn

Egypt, both man and beast,

that didn't
want to take a chance

there were Egyptians

that were in
houses with those Hebrews

with the blood on the door.

And this is why, the
notion which is very popular

that Passover is Jewish

wrong. It was for everybody.

God intended to save Jews

It was more to save anyone

decided not to take a chance,

accept the step of faith.

It is also important to
see, how and why God made them

actually put the
blood on a doorpost.

Jews--for Israelites,

Israelites at this time.

tribes of Israelites,

it wasn't a problem.

They were known and
they were hated already,

because of their
previous plagues.

For Egyptians
it was a challenge.

You know, Egyptian who
decided to save his son,

himself at huge risk

in front of his
family, his neighbors

because now he
identifies himself with enemies.

So that was a very strong step
of faith for those Egyptians.

Not to actually quietly

in the middle of the
night come to the Israel,

and then say, can I be in your
house, can I also get the lamb--

Right, because
it would be obvious

if their son survived
after this plague was over.

Everybody would know
how their son survived.

But you know,
what it's afterwards

and now it's beforehand.

Remember 14 days
before this was announced.

Take the lamb, let

of the series of plagues

to understand too that

what God is doing
here through these plagues

is not just proving
that He is great and powerful

but He is dismantling

the Egyptian
religious system of the time.

Not really for the Egyptians,

but for the
Hebrews, for the Israelites

because they have been
in captivity for so long.

They had become a custom,

had become connected to this
religious system of worship.

And one plague at a
time God dismantles it.

the key point of our beliefs.

and sees the ram and
sacrifices in place of Isaac.

And that's a picture
of that substitution.

strictly forbids slaughtering

anywhere except the altar.

perfect that it wasn't sick

nothing wrong with it, right?
