God made man in His image.

But what does that really mean
that God made man in His image?

Oftentimes, it
is the understanding

in His physical form.

people really understand that

They focus on the
physical part of it that

we would physically be
made in the image of God.

just a physical form.

let us make man in our
image, after our likeness."

Now notice what it says
there after our, what, likeness.

"And let them have dominion

just some outward
physical appearance.

God made us, made
humanity, made Adam and Eve

from the very
beginning in perfection.

They had perfect characters.

They were without sin.
They were without spot.

They were without blemish.

And this is what
God is trying to restore

you and I to the image or
even the character of God.

need to understand

And as we go through this,
you're going to understand that

the devil is
doing all that he can.

through a trip down memory lane

and he's doing all
that he can to distort

and corrupt the
image of God in men.

So let's take a look at it.

Remember, in heaven,

Satan had basically
a war that broke out.

We read about
that in Revelation 12,

it says there was war in heaven,
00:10:49.64\00:10:51.11
Michael and his angels
fought against the dragon,
00:10:51.15\00:10:52.71
and the dragon
fought and his angels.
00:10:52.75\00:10:54.08
Right?
00:10:54.12\00:10:55.45
Well, what's interesting
about that word war is that
00:10:55.48\00:10:57.09
the word war in
the original Greek
00:10:57.12\00:10:59.59
actually translates to
the word polemos, polemos.

Now that word actually in
our language today would be

what we refer to as politics.

Are we together?

you some good old politics?

I don't know about,
but I don't like politics.

I like to stay
away from politics.

And we'll talk a little bit more

through this message.

But basically what
broke out in heaven

was this political idea,

this political
war, a war of ideas

and Satan began to say

all kinds of
accusations against God.

We read that in Revelation 12,

he became the
accuser of the brethren,
00:11:31.65\00:11:33.39
the accuser of God.
00:11:33.42\00:11:34.86
And he was ultimately
telling everyone in heaven
00:11:34.89\00:11:36.76
that he could be worshiped too.
00:11:36.79\00:11:39.29
That we, we as angels,

he was saying, "We
can be worshiped too.
00:11:40.86\00:11:42.46
Why does God have to be
the only one to be worshiped?"

And what eventually led to,

what it eventually
all led to was that Satan,

my friends, was ultimately
making the accusation.

But by saying
that can be worshiped,

he was ultimately saying that
00:11:54.08\00:11:55.41
God is unworthy to be worshiped.

And so he was thus
corrupting the image

or the
character of God in heaven

and taking the attention
off of Jesus and onto himself.

ourselves in lots of ways.

friends, Satan wants to take

the attention off of God

and His image
off of His character.

And he wants to put it on who?

Anything and everything,
but God and his character.

Anything that gets
you to look away from God.

And what's the title,

of this ministry?

Satan's plan to corrupt

and distort the image of
God from the very beginning.

So he began in heaven
and then this warfare,

this cosmic conflict
that broke out in heaven,

then transitioned
down to planet earth.

Transitioned down to
planet earth and this idea,

this warfare that we
have that broke out in heaven,

this war of ideas now

transitioned to planet earth.

And now Satan presents this idea

of God's character,

worthy to be worshiped

God is not worthy to be

come to planet earth.

Satan tried to
corrupt the image of God

in the Garden of Eden.

And how did he
do that by the way?

How did Satan distort
and corrupt the image of God

beginning in the Garden of Eden?

So why did God destroy
the antediluvian world?

that for a moment.

the pre-flood world, right?

And as he fell, he thought
all of this to save a sheep,

heard a cry and a whimper.

The lamb had broke,

devastated that he lost a sheep.

lamb, the lamb of God

their way to destruction.

stonemason went into his shop

most beautiful image

of this beautiful lamb
that had broke his fall.
