Lord spoken to your heart,

Like the scribes
and Pharisees are bold,

full of justification

and excuses for their actions

People often have

the appearance of righteousness,

but their hearts are
far from heeding God's Word.

Proverbs 9:10 reads,

"The fear of the Lord

the Holy is understanding."

All of us are alive at a
time in this world's history

that we are experiencing
life changing events

will bring about
permanent changes in our world

up through the coming of Christ.

Our Savior's restraining power

back just a little bit

about when you say desolate,

what does that mean.

That was our text for today
and is found in Matthew 23:38.

Just a few words there
but, man, are they powerful?

I mean, very powerful.

It says, "Behold, your house
is left and to you desolate."

Now desolate means
a waste, would it not?
00:06:57.48\00:06:59.95
And it means a
solitary place, a wilderness.

It means something that's empty,
00:07:03.99\00:07:06.45
something that includes,
00:07:06.49\00:07:08.02
notice this,
inhabitants of this place.

It means even the inhabitants
00:07:11.16\00:07:12.49
and certainly the
story talking about
00:07:12.53\00:07:14.16
the destruction
of Jerusalem in AD 70
00:07:14.20\00:07:17.17
and it affected the
inhabitants there, notice that.

Desolate your house,
00:07:20.47\00:07:22.90
interesting
passage or scripture.

The day before in the temple,

Jesus said in
Matthew Chapter 21,

he said, "My house," remember?

The day before he said,
00:07:33.01\00:07:34.35
"My house," he
called the temple,
00:07:34.38\00:07:36.12
the next day, he
said, "Your house."

Something happened, a
transition took place,

something that we need to
pay special attention to today

because the day may
come if we are not striving

to enter into
the kingdom of God,

your house, my house may
be left desolate or empty.

Was there a time or
could there be a time

that Jesus would, as
it were, would leave?

But it'd be a time that
our probation would be up.

Notice what He
said about, you know,

talking about
destruction of Jerusalem,

the temple, Jewish
nation, "My house, your house."
00:08:10.15\00:08:15.29
These words,
panicked, when Jesus spoke them,
00:08:15.32\00:08:17.93
it panicked the priest and
the rabbis that were there.
00:08:17.96\00:08:21.53
But you know what they hate it.
00:08:21.56\00:08:23.10
They didn't want
anybody know that
00:08:23.13\00:08:24.47
they were paying attention
to what Jesus had to say.
00:08:24.50\00:08:27.50
But notice, in three
days, three days later,

there was a visible sign
00:08:30.91\00:08:33.01
that something
big had taken place.

Notice the veil was
torn between, where?

Yes, between the holy
and the most holy place,

as it were, in the
temple, signifying, what?

Really that Jesus had died,

the way had been
opened up now us to go boldly

into the most holy
place, because of who?

Because of Jesus,

but this was a
physical sign that

now there was no use
anymore of sacrificing.

What? Type had met antitype.

The holy place, what
a wonderful place to be.

And we need to be there
today by the grace of God.

It's simply a sign
that God no longer,

you know, want us to, you know,

kill these
animals, it's useless.

It's meaningless.

It's the round of
form and ceremonies.

Even though they
continue, notice,

the Jews continued
to do this for, what,

40, almost 40 years later,

even though they
realized that was a sign

they need to quit
offering these sacrifices.

Why?

Hebrews 7 talks about

because Jesus
offered His life once.

Now think about, He
died once, after Jesus died,

we didn't need to sacrifice,

right, the animals
because that, what,

all of those
sacrifices pointed to whom?

The day that Jesus would
come and then Jesus would die,

and they would no
longer need to do that.

But they continued on
another almost 40 years

to about AD 70, say
Jesus died in AD 31.

You see, this is
part of a prophecy

there, Daniel 9:27,

in the midst of
the prophetic week.

As far as heaven was concerned,

there was no value anymore
in the sacrifices and oblations

which came to an end forever.

And that day when Jesus
was making this statement,

He turned from the temple

changing in our world today.

is coming to an end.

are taking place now.

Things that surprised

are happening now,

doing away with free speech.

Constitution as a Protestant

and republican government."

Now what does that mean?

Repudiate every
principle of the Constitution,

that means we're
going to divorce ourselves

from the Constitution.

It means we're going
to separate ourselves

We're going to refuse to accept.

acknowledge those principles.

They're saying things
that's not going to happen.

But as you can see already

place in the world.

change rather quickly.

It doesn't take long,

talking about United States,

"what it has been the
defender of religious freedom."

It's always been
in that right that

we're losing our freedoms,

a lot of people, head's
still in the sand, says,

been in the land of the free."

But anyone now

that all must remember that

we see these
freedoms taken away.

And you see things going
on that should not go on.

And no one seems to be
doing anything about it.

Now it's wildly
agitated by, what,

things like climate change,

and by the papacy,
things that are going on,

these things
are out in the open,

"Laudato si'," these are
things that people are reading.

And if you've
never read these things

they may be a shock to you.

But this has been going
on for a long, long time.

So the question is, it's
being agitated right now.

In other words, what
I'm reading right now

is part of Bible prophecy,

pointing to this hour
in which we are living.

"Well, maybe this just
can't happen in this country?

There's no way?"

Now we say, "Oh, I
believe that it can be."

God is allowing
these ridiculous things

that's going on in
the world to open our eyes

and our ears and
our hearts, what,

so that we can say,
what, this could happen.

This could happen.

The Bible says, so does
Spirit of Prophecy says,

Notice this, "As we
see this thing approaching,

message will produce an effect

This is all under
the guidance of God.
