signs of His Second Coming

the world would be.

In Matthew 24,

He began to
explain many of the signs

that would
precede His returning,

many of which had
been fulfilled thus far

and are being
fulfilled currently.

Let's read verses 5-8 together.

It reads, "For many
shall come in my name, saying,

I am the Christ
and shall deceive many.

know that it's
near even at the door."

So I think, as we
look at this lesson today,

We have to realize

kind of a hypnotic trance.

They're not sure of
what's going on in the world.

They're too wrapped up
in things that are going on.

Look back in scripture,

Enoch had a special
message for his time,

Noah had a special
message for his time,

Abraham had a special message,

Moses had a special
message for his time,

and certainly for ours
too, but for their time,

and I think now
that the servants of God

have a special
message for the hour

right now that we're living in.

We need to be aware of that.

And I think one of them would be

is we need to be thinking

in terms of
moving out of the cities.

Why moving out
of the cities, why?

Because the end is coming.

The days will be
trapped in these places.

We'll not be able to get out.

People who live in these things,

we're gonna see as we
study the Word of God,

they're getting worse and worse,

things that are
going on in the cities.

We need to be far away
as possible as we can be.

We realized that will
take a lot of self-denial.

That'll take maybe not,

you know, reducing the way
in which you're used to living

but getting out

because things
are going to happen.

That's going to
take us by a surprise

if we are not careful.

Now remember, for
the sins of the priest

and the people

Jerusalem was
completely destroyed.

Keep that in mind.

study that part of history,

in the destruction of Jerusalem.

And we will see
that before Jesus comes,

it's going to be
worse than those days.

my poor mind says,

"I don't know how it can be."

But God says, and so
I know that it's true.

Turn with me to your Bibles,
if you will, to 2 Chronicles.

Back in the Old
Testament, 2 Chronicles 36,

and we're going to
read two verses, 15 and 16.

00:09:42.01\00:09:48.05
Now when I'm reading
this, when I'm reading this,

remember, it has to
do with the sins of what?
00:09:50.05\00:09:53.39
The priest and the people
that Jerusalem was destroyed,

God allowed it to be destroyed.
00:09:58.13\00:09:59.79
Here's what these
two verses tell us here,

It says "The Lord
God of their fathers

sent to them by His messengers,

rising up," how many,
"betimes, and sending,
00:10:10.24\00:10:14.71
because He had
compassion on His people
00:10:14.74\00:10:18.21
and on His dwelling place."
00:10:18.25\00:10:20.22
Verse 16,
00:10:20.25\00:10:22.15
"But they mocked
the messengers of God,
00:10:22.18\00:10:25.22
they despised,"
what, "His words,
00:10:25.25\00:10:28.56
misused His prophets,
00:10:28.59\00:10:30.43
until the wrath of the
Lord arose against His people,
00:10:30.46\00:10:34.43
till there was no remedy."

That means there
was what? No healing.

It came to the point

where there would be no healing,

that probation
as it were closed,

God let it go
until there's no...

Why let it go on anymore?

Very, very interesting thought.

So as we're looking at
this and thinking about

these passages of scripture,

I looked over some
things and I just thought,

you know, I'm not gonna
spend a whole lot of time on,

I really can't

because I'm looking
at the signs of the times
00:11:02.76\00:11:04.79
and the destruction
that's in the world today.

Remember Jesus said,
"When you see these things,
00:11:07.60\00:11:09.36
right, when you
see things developing
00:11:09.40\00:11:10.97
and things that are happening,
00:11:11.00\00:11:12.33
you're going to know,
you're going to know."

But see, people are not seeing
00:11:14.27\00:11:15.60
what's going on
in the world today,
00:11:15.64\00:11:17.31
disaster after
disaster is happening.
00:11:17.34\00:11:20.51
Many of us are in our
cities, many are on the islands,
00:11:20.54\00:11:22.74
many are just around
the world, destruction,
00:11:22.78\00:11:26.38
what does that really
mean? Destruction is everywhere.
00:11:26.41\00:11:29.72
Dictionary says the action
00:11:29.75\00:11:31.42
or process of
causing so much damage
00:11:31.45\00:11:35.29
to something that
it no longer exists
00:11:35.32\00:11:38.29
and cannot be repaired.

Have you seen
anything take place like that

in the last few
months, in the last few years,
00:11:43.37\00:11:45.77
that things have
happened in this land,
00:11:45.80\00:11:47.77
in this country that
is completely devastated?

Now we're looking
at some places, say,
00:11:51.11\00:11:52.47
we're going to
rebuild, we're going to redo.
00:11:52.51\00:11:56.21
But remember, it
completely destroyed
00:11:56.24\00:11:59.25
that signs of the times.

We need to listen and we
need to really be studying

into these things
because as signs of the times,

fires, horrible fires
00:12:09.56\00:12:14.00
have displaced thousands
and thousands of people,

billions of dollars of damage.

As I was looking at
these lists, I said,

"You could go on
for a whole week almost
00:12:21.90\00:12:23.91
with what's just
happened in 2018."

You really
could of the disaster,
00:12:26.27\00:12:28.11
selling their what?
00:12:28.14\00:12:29.48
One upon the heels of the other
00:12:29.51\00:12:30.85
that the coming
of the Lord is near.

But if you go and
you look at things like,

you know, you have a
member Andrew and Florence,

you remember those,
and Opal, and even Dennis,

and Katrina, and
Michael, these hurricanes,

disastrous things take place.
00:12:44.63\00:12:47.80
Fires everywhere,
even in our country.
00:12:47.83\00:12:51.87
And so I said, you
know, I've jotted down
00:12:51.90\00:12:53.47
three pages of things, I said,
00:12:53.50\00:12:54.84
I can't really
spend a whole lot of time

but other than to
say, for instance,

North American Blizzard.
00:12:58.44\00:13:00.54
That wasn't too long ago.

In the US and Canada,
what really took place?

Snow fell and ice fell

where there... usually is
not accustomed to falling.

We're talking about in places

like Northern
Florida and Southern Georgia,

they were named by
several different names,

but one interesting
name stuck out to me,

nothing official on it,

but it simply said,
going into this storm,

the ice and what took place,
00:13:24.17\00:13:25.67
they call it
historic bomb cyclones.

They're naming
them like things that
00:13:31.21\00:13:32.54
they've never named before
00:13:32.57\00:13:33.91
that they haven't seen before.

Damage in the
billions and billions,

power outages by the
hundreds of thousands

and millions of people, deaths,

flooding in United
States, oh, you know, tornadoes,

and they start
categorizing them and,
00:13:47.19\00:13:49.06
you know, they call them,
well, EF1s, and EF2s, and Ef3s.

It's a horrible
nightmare, they list those.

In 2018, there was 968,

tornadoes that they listed.

See, a lot of
time, we don't hear

a whole lot about all
of these different things

but they're signs of the time.

They're historic,
and we need to pay

special attention to them today.

North Korea, there were floods.

Pakistan, a heatwave
that killed many, many people.

Nigeria, there was
floods, Japan, there was floods,

India, there was floods,
Guatemala, volcanic eruptions,
00:15:02.03\00:15:06.63
Indonesia, Indonesia has
been hit pretty hard this year.

Not just... not a few days ago,

but we're talking
about few months ago

to where hundreds
and hundreds died,

volcanic eruptions.

I'll tell you, we
talk about tsunamis,

things that are
happening without warning.

We're living in that time,
famine, and certainly disease,

We can think of many
countries around the world

that are suffering right now
for the lack of water and food

and certainly disease.

As 2 Chronicles tells us,

when the messengers were sent,

just like today,
people will hear.

You know what they'll
say about this talk today?

They'll say, "Oh,
boy, doom and gloom again.

It's nothing but
doom and gloom again.

These are the warnings
that God gives in His Word

that we may go
back and we may read,
00:15:55.28\00:15:57.09
for examples, aren't they?

But the Bible said

that we may live, we
may learn from these things.

The verses that we just
read there in 2 Chronicles

apply more today than
they even did back then.

They apply as a
warning that Jesus is coming,

warning after
warning, but what happened?

There was no change took place.

Today, you can say this,

the probation, is soon to close.

We need to get
ready for Jesus' coming,

and we see basically no change.

We don't see church
attendants on the rise.

And in fact, we
see it falling off.

We don't see a
whole lot of evangelism

as we need to be seeing it now

because we have
other things to do

and we are busy,

but we'd say signs
of the times are here,

devastation, uncertainty,

strange events are taking place

every day of our life.

Jesus has said before
warns us of these things.

And He said when
they come to pass,

then you're going to know,

we see Him coming to pass today.

One on the heels of the other,

like we don't know.

believed that this is it,
