This movement I'm referring to
is called "Spiritual Formation."

of scripture that we read,

as we go through the study.

When you talk about
"Spiritual Formation,"

some of you may not
think that it's a heavy thing

"Well, we've been through,

and it's been going
on for quite some time."

And yet, almost like undetected

not a whole lot
being said about it

but, you know, I
can really say this.

Now remember
there's two parts to this,

so you don't want to miss this.

This is part number one.

But going through the
study on several occasions,

I just had to stop and
simply just cry out to God

for more understanding of it

and for renewed
strength to continue to go on

and you say, but why?

Because at times, I
was just overwhelmed

with all the
information besides that.

And I'm crying out for not only
myself but for God's people.

The way in which the
enemy is attacking God's church,

God's last day people
and it came into my mind

as a human
thinking as just simply say,

"Oh, God, who
will not be deceived?
00:10:58.24\00:11:01.96
Who will not be deceived?"

He's very
tactful in what he does.

He's very
knowledgeable in what he does.

So we might as well just face
up to that right now to realize

that he has a plan to
deceive you and to deceive me.

So we must be careful the
Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:2,

to handle the word
of God, notice this,

the word of God not to handle
the word of God deceitfully.

There are many that
handle the word of God

and it's become deceitful.

It's misleading.

So the admonition is given to us
when you handle the word of God,

be careful how you handle it.

This is no game.
This is not a game at all.

In fact, you could say
the stakes are very high

because it's eternal life here.

I want you to sense the urgency

as the Spirit
speaks to your heart

things that are going on

and many people are turning
deaf ear and they don't want to,

you know, get involved in it

because there is people in high
positions that are involved.

There is people maybe
that has more education

than you do or than I do.

And, well, we don't want
to say anything but listen,

if that doesn't match
up with the word of God,

we need to have a voice.

Bible says, lay hold on, what?

It's a life and death issue

and we need to lay
hold on eternal life.

It's very, very important

that we see this
subject for what it is.

few people realize

He doesn't like to be exposed.

He doesn't want his
plan to be out there

where everybody can see it.

He's afraid that there's
just one person will accept

encourage you with this?

Every point of
truth, the enemy attacks.

He attacks it from every angle

that he possibly can to
confuse the mind and yet,

we find that the truths
of God's word are really

very clear and
they're very simple.

There's really through
the power of the Spirit

we can understand what
God has put in His word.

But in the word, the
plan of the enemy unfolds.

And so as he
sees that it's unfold,

he's afraid that you'll be
reading and studying about it.

And so we get a lot of counsel

and a lot of talk
from different people

and we need to be careful.

Because, you know, the Bible

of the wicked is deceitful."

The counsel of what?
The wicked is deceitful.

That means it's
what? Misleading.

It means it's very subtle.
It's very hard to pick up.

which is right which is wrong.

just carried away with emotion

rather than word of God.

there's a bottom line.

this as the Lord gives us time.

that many people out be reading.

everything in the world, this
is what we gauge our life on.

This is what we do. This is what
we think. This is how we act.

We're worried

the winning of souls

out a few things for you here

comes to church growth,

everybody's talking
about church growth.

Everybody wants
their church to grow.

But when you're
talking about church growth,

we need not follow
the ways of the world

or other churches in
order to get our church to grow.

This is a
