through a man or a woman

that God called to be a prophet.

You'll find that
early in Christian history

of the Bible these
persons were first called Seers.

No doubt, because they
were able to see into the future

what God chose
or found necessary

to reveal in
order to lead or prepare
00:01:18.28\00:01:20.86
His people for future events.

It is through prophecy
that we're given insight

to the end of
this world's history

and encouraged as
God's fearing people

to get our hearts,
to get our lives ready

and be fully prepared to

Certainly, most
of us would agree

that we're a most blessed people

to have this
prophetic information

as given to us
through prophets of own.

But you know, with so
many people claiming this gift

and having been
revealed as false prophets,

many in our world today

are questioning
this gift of prophecy

and who or what that
we should believe in.

studying more about prophecy

prophecy, symbols of prophecy,

prophetic interpretation

whether that be literal

prophecies of classification,

It begins to
confuse people's mind.

Either people talk
about and you study

prophecies in scriptures.

Prophecies, you
know, symbols of prophecy.

And I begin to read these things
and--a long range prophecy.

And you look at the parables
and you look at prophecies that

in the past tense and you look
at prophecies in the future.

Well, they're all prophecies

and if you think about those
prophecies that are prophesied

and if you--God
uses somebody with mouth.

Could it be a prophet?

So that we understand something

that we need to understand
that hour in which we live.

Dreams and visions,

the Bible is clear that
these things will take place

in the last days but

you know, do we have a
God that may be has left us

here in these last days?

There's no help, no hope for us

as after all God
has been with His people

and has communicated with them
from the very beginning of time.

He said I'll never
leave you or forsake you

and so if He's
been with the church

and had a message for them,

does He not have a
message for His church

here in the last days.

Will He leave us helpless?

Oh, no. No He won't.

God has a way in which
He wants to communicate

what's about to
take place in this world

and what is taking place
so that we're not stunned

by what we see and what
we sense that's going on

and so that we feel helpless
but to be encouraged by it.

Many people say
you know I am afraid

when someone talks
about a prophet in the church.

And sometimes
they're afraid because

they've never studied the issue.

They're afraid because
they've had bad experiences.

Or it may be
they're afraid because

they haven't had
any experiences at all

and so as soon as you mention

they go oh ha I don't
want to hear this thing.

But if God has
something for us, we want it.

But you know, think
along with me for a moment.

If--if God has a
true prophet which He does

then there's also
is--there're false prophets.

And so people are worried about
being deceived and we should be

and we can only
find out from scripture

what is truth and what is air.

But it doesn't
what, nullify that God has

prophets in the world
and He's gonna be using them

until He shall come back to
this world and take us home.

mind you wanna read and study

Now, I think back in
scripture and I begin to--

Apostle Paul is
one of my favorites.

Love to read the
writings of Paul.

But, you know, the Apostle
Paul at this point in time

when we're
getting ready to read was

he was getting up there in years

and God have given him a
faithful helper, Timothy.
00:12:48.20\00:12:51.52
And so Paul would begin to
tell him things to write down

and Timothy would pen the words
00:12:55.04\00:12:57.02
the messages that Paul gave him.
00:12:57.05\00:12:59.45
And they were messages
concerning the churches.

Automatically, New Testament--
we ought to pay attention,

okay, message to the churches.

So it wasn't just for that
time in place, but it's what?

Just as much for us
today that we can learn from.

So this aged apostle
you see instructed Timothy

to pen this verse down

special attention to every word.

Now, the first thing I say is,

Well, why should we pay
attention to every word?

Because Paul knew even then

difficulties that we would face.

More now even then,

then that we would
begin to pick and choose

what we might want
to believe or something

we want to discard that
we're picker and choosers.

But we can't do that in
the word of God. Since we--

as we read this passage

Some people will say well I
like this passage of scripture,

well, it doesn't demand a
change and so they like it.

And others demand a change

and so we don't like that
ones, so we kind of let it go.

as you read it in
your Bible, it says what.

Good, all scripture. Now

Good, there's somebody
is saying all means all.

it says all scripture

look at the issues.

presents something that may be

you haven't studied before
and you'll say well, that's--

we don't believe that anymore.

That's not what the Bible says.

First of all, you get
yourself in trouble there.

Why? Why because it says,

"All scripture is
given by inspiration of God."

It says, "It's profitable
for doctrine, and for reproof,

and for correction, for
instructions in righteousness."

Oh, do we need that today?

So, why is the
inspired scripture

been so profitable to us?

And I'll think about it,
we're interested in prophets

in this world
and material things.

But why are we
interested in spiritual things

that will profit us
in our spiritual growth.

It's going to profit.
It's inspired, it's profitable

because the very next verse

in Second Timothy
3:17, answers that question.

Why it's profitable? It
says "So that man." Right?

"May be perfect and thoroughly
furnished in all good works."

So, it's profitable
because it does what?

It helps the
man to become, what?

Perfect in Jesus
Christ and it says thoroughly

in the Greek means perfected.

furnished, furnished means

he's going to be fully equipped.

He's going to be fine tuned.

He's going to be
able to accomplish

that which God has for him.

So that's the purpose of what?

The scripture, all
scripture is profitable to us.

just didn't do it, right?

Good, "By the Holy Ghost."

God, they say, were removed.

It is not the words of the Bible
